Latest / SEC Football Addiction / Gators SHOCKED By South Carolina & CONCERN is HIGH for UF Football 🚨

- 0:00Speaker 1: Florida fans, it's bad. And my apologies, honestly, for everybody
- 0:04Speaker 1: in the world of college football who has a podcast,
- 0:07Speaker 1: our apologies for giving you hope that maybe this Florida
- 0:10Speaker 1: team would be different. Now, Rome wasn't built in day
- 0:12Speaker 1: and neither will the revitalization of Florida football underneath John Summerall.
- 0:16Speaker 1: And I'm not selling my Summerall stock whatsoever, but there's
- 0:19Speaker 1: something that has to change. Because we are further and
- 0:21Speaker 1: further away from the win, the massive victory at home
- 0:25Speaker 1: over Ole Miss, where you ran all over everybody, and
- 0:27Speaker 1: we were having conversations of Jaden Baugh being in the
- 0:30Speaker 1: Big Apple, and John Summerall being in the college football playoff,
- 0:34Speaker 1: and potentially this team being as dangerous as 2019 LSU.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Don't know who said that, but anyways... That's now a
- 0:40Speaker 1: thing of the past. And the reality is setting on
- 0:42Speaker 1: in that this is probably where Florida is moving forward.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And there's a lot of faults that need to be corrected.
- 0:48Speaker 1: And I don't know if it's possible because losing 38-19
- 0:51Speaker 1: against South Carolina, where their offense woke on up starting
- 0:55Speaker 1: in the second quarter and just laid waste in a
- 0:58Speaker 1: 28-9 differential when the game was tied at 10-10. That's
- 1:01Speaker 1: all you need to know about where this program is.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So let's talk about it. Welcome on into SEC Football Addiction.

- 1:24Speaker 1: Promo code HMA. $ 150 in bonus lineups when you play
- 1:28Speaker 1: your first $ 5 lineup. Florida actually came out swinging. I
- 1:31Speaker 1: was very impressed with their second drive to be able
- 1:33Speaker 1: to find Bailey Stockton that open. Aaron Filo right on
- 1:35Speaker 1: the money. Breadbasket, Buster Faulkner in his bag. make it
- 1:39Speaker 1: play after play, and it seems like, okay, what we
- 1:41Speaker 1: witnessed last week was the outlier. This is the expected
- 1:44Speaker 1: moving forward. And then unfortunately, here came South Carolina, who
- 1:48Speaker 1: entered today leading the SEC, and if I'm not mistaken,
- 1:50Speaker 1: the country in drops. And there were some bad drops
- 1:53Speaker 1: in the first quarter. Things just got out of control.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But eventually, you were able to get close enough to
- 1:59Speaker 1: inside a field goal range, and a 15-yard touchdown pass
- 2:02Speaker 1: to Nick Harbaugh was all she wrote to tie the
- 2:04Speaker 1: game at 7-7. A 13-play, 72-yard drive that took over
- 2:08Speaker 1: six minutes off the clock led to a field goal
- 2:10Speaker 1: in favor of Florida. But then a 10-play, 56-yard drive
- 2:13Speaker 1: that took almost five minutes off the clock tied the
- 2:15Speaker 1: game at 10 apiece. So at this moment, with roughly
- 2:19Speaker 1: about four minutes left in the second quarter, it's a
- 2:22Speaker 1: new ballgame. Everything that we saw before, the passes, the completions,
- 2:26Speaker 1: the cohesiveness of the offensive personnel of Florida, South Carolina,
- 2:30Speaker 1: throw it out the window, new ballgame. And it was!
- 2:33Speaker 1: Just very much in favor of South Carolina in a
- 2:37Speaker 1: 28-9 differential. Aaron Filo with a bad interception that gives
- 2:40Speaker 1: short field position to allow South Carolina to get a
- 2:44Speaker 1: touchdown to make it 17-10. But then Florida responds quickly
- 2:48Speaker 1: in a two-minute offense that actually looks really promising. Filo's
- 2:51Speaker 1: making some good passes. You get a big 16-yard strike
- 2:55Speaker 1: downfield to Dallas Wilson. You get a 13-yard strike to
- 2:58Speaker 1: Dallas Wilson. And you're in field goal range. And then
- 3:01Speaker 1: Durkin just goes... A little bit too far right. And
- 3:05Speaker 1: it's still 17-10. Then you go into the halftime. And
- 3:09Speaker 1: the good news is, whatever the faults were in your
- 3:11Speaker 1: defense and coverage downfield against Nick Harber and Lex Cyrus
- 3:15Speaker 1: and Donovan Murth and the open field tackling, Brad White
- 3:18Speaker 1: had extra time because there was a lightning delay and
- 3:21Speaker 1: they didn't go play back out because, you know, we
- 3:22Speaker 1: don't want to be in the middle of a hurricane.
- 3:24Speaker 1: So there's more time to look at what went wrong
- 3:27Speaker 1: to be able to fix it. And coming on out
- 3:29Speaker 1: of the drive, you were able to do something good.
- 3:32Speaker 1: You had a field goal. Now, I'm not saying a
- 3:33Speaker 1: field goal is what you wanted, but the fact that
- 3:35Speaker 1: you were able to get a good pass off to
- 3:36Speaker 1: Micah Mays, the fact that you were able to get
- 3:38Speaker 1: a couple of big runs from Jaden Baugh, that 26-yard
- 3:41Speaker 1: scamper to get you across midfield, you were in a
- 3:44Speaker 1: good spot at that point. And then you get the
- 3:46Speaker 1: field goal, and all you need to do is for
- 3:49Speaker 1: your defense to get a stop. And a 10-yard run
- 3:52Speaker 1: by Matt Fuller, followed by a 35-yard pass downfield to
- 3:55Speaker 1: Nick Harbour. Followed by a 26-yard pass to Donovan Murth.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Kind of made it clear that this defense is what
- 4:01Speaker 1: it is. And there's some problems here. And some big ones.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Especially in coverage. Because South Carolina, going into this game,
- 4:09Speaker 1: had a lot of faults being able to throw the football.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And they really struggled in the second half of games.
- 4:14Speaker 1: But now, it's 24-13. And a punt. And a touchdown.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And then a fumble. And a punt. And a touchdown.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That turnover on downs. And a short field position with
- 4:24Speaker 1: 121 needed to score another touchdown. Made it 38-13. And yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Jaden Ball finds way to the end zone at the
- 4:30Speaker 1: end of the game. But you weren't coming on back in.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Aaron Filo leaves. They put in Tramell Jones. It ain't
- 4:37Speaker 1: much prettier. And that's all she wrote. So what do
- 4:40Speaker 1: you want to talk about with this game? I think
- 4:41Speaker 1: the big takeaway here is that regardless of how you
- 4:44Speaker 1: feel about the offense, defense has got to show on up.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And it really starts in the secondary. And it's one
- 4:50Speaker 1: thing to be able to give up big-time plays to
- 4:52Speaker 1: Donovan O, to Caden Lee. Both of them seem like
- 4:55Speaker 1: they're top 10 receivers in the SEC this year. Both
- 4:58Speaker 1: of them feel like they're difference makers on the outside.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Caden Lee, once again, had a great day against Texas
- 5:02Speaker 1: A & M secondary, which is a lot easier said
- 5:05Speaker 1: than what we kind of make it out to be.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But regardless, those are the type of weapons that are
- 5:10Speaker 1: allowed to beat you. Nick Harbour for four catches and
- 5:13Speaker 1: 83 yards is him. Mazio Bennett finding open play after
- 5:16Speaker 1: open play and being able just to maneuver his way
- 5:19Speaker 1: for a touchdown to make it 17-10. That ain't good.
- 5:22Speaker 1: The open field tackling has been abysmal. Watching as Donovan
- 5:25Speaker 1: Murph only has two catches, but one's for a 26-yard strike.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And then watching as Lex Cyrus only has two catches,
- 5:31Speaker 1: but one is for a touchdown pass on a gain
- 5:33Speaker 1: of 21. That ain't good. That's kind of where you are.
- 5:38Speaker 1: The explosives are just not happening. And then the worst
- 5:41Speaker 1: part is that the open field tackling also has been
- 5:43Speaker 1: a fault at times. I was very impressed with Florida's
- 5:46Speaker 1: defense at the very beginning of the game. Florida had
- 5:49Speaker 1: nine tackles for loss and three sacks. They had two
- 5:51Speaker 1: big sacks in the first half. And it made you
- 5:54Speaker 1: feel like the defense was a little bit changing. But
- 5:57Speaker 1: you also got to worry about those explosives that are
- 5:59Speaker 1: given up downfield. And that secondary has holes that are
- 6:03Speaker 1: bigger than a slice of Swiss cheese. And that's a problem.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Because eventually you are still going up against really talented
- 6:10Speaker 1: teams that have wide receiver play. And I don't think
- 6:13Speaker 1: that right now we can talk about going into the
- 6:14Speaker 1: college football playoff. I think that we want to talk
- 6:16Speaker 1: about finishing the year on a high note. 8-4, 7-5.
- 6:21Speaker 1: This secondary continues to look the way that it did today.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Giving up that many plays. You're in for a world
- 6:27Speaker 1: of hurt. And I don't know if it's correctable. And
- 6:30Speaker 1: it's something that I think is definitely going to be
- 6:32Speaker 1: a must-do change in the offseason. You go to the
- 6:35Speaker 1: top of the to-do list of what you want from
- 6:38Speaker 1: John Summerall, open field tackling in the secondary. Primary subject
- 6:43Speaker 1: number one.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Hey guys, I'll get right back to the video, but

- 7:15Speaker 2: All of the conference football addictions, College Football Addiction, and
- 7:18Speaker 2: of course, The Power 2. All right, back to the clip.
- 7:21Speaker 1: As much as we can go ahead and look at
- 7:22Speaker 1: Jaden Baugh, Jaden Baugh cannot be the only option of
- 7:25Speaker 1: your offense. You went 6-13 on third down, which honestly
- 7:28Speaker 1: is not as bad as some people want to make
- 7:29Speaker 1: it out to be. But partially the reason why it's
- 7:31Speaker 1: 6-13 is because they took away the rushing attack. And
- 7:34Speaker 1: they realized pretty early on, hey, if we can shut
- 7:36Speaker 1: down Jaden Baugh and follow a similar game plan to
- 7:39Speaker 1: what we witnessed last week out in Como. We're in Columbia.
- 7:42Speaker 1: We're in Cola. But this game's in Gainesville. We can
- 7:45Speaker 1: make it work. And they kind of did. Jaden Baugh
- 7:47Speaker 1: had a big 26-yard run. And for the most part,
- 7:50Speaker 1: he was bottled on up. He did have a touchdown
- 7:52Speaker 1: run late in the game. Again, you take that as
- 7:53Speaker 1: a win, but they kind of made you one-dimensional at times.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Aaron Filo had 13 carries for 32 yards. Jermell Jones
- 8:00Speaker 1: had 17 yards. So if you take away just your
- 8:03Speaker 1: top three guys, you end up finishing with 13 total
- 8:07Speaker 1: rushing yards on the day between Duke Clark, Evan Pryor,
- 8:11Speaker 1: and Eric Singleton, seven-yard end around. I mean, that's what
- 8:16Speaker 1: the game was. And I get that you have a
- 8:18Speaker 1: couple big-time runs here and there, and I get that
- 8:20Speaker 1: you had some opportunities to be able to make it work,
- 8:22Speaker 1: but still, the offense right now is predicated on going
- 8:25Speaker 1: through what you have with Jaden Bob. Like, two weeks ago,
- 8:28Speaker 1: here we are talking about Bob being in the Big
- 8:30Speaker 1: Apple and running away with a Heisman Trophy, and he
- 8:32Speaker 1: certainly belonged in that conversation, but partially, partially... We need
- 8:39Speaker 1: to see a little bit more from the offensive personnel.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And again, I give credit where credit's due. You get
- 8:42Speaker 1: a big strike early on in the game and Bailey
- 8:44Speaker 1: Stockton's running to the races and there's no Vernell Brown
- 8:47Speaker 1: out there and you're making it work with however you can.
- 8:50Speaker 1: But still, being able to win at the intermediate stage
- 8:54Speaker 1: is something that I think that you want to see
- 8:55Speaker 1: at this point moving forward for Aaron Filo. And it's
- 8:58Speaker 1: not there. But as much as I want to blame
- 9:00Speaker 1: the offense in this game, it's really hard to because
- 9:03Speaker 1: look at the stats itself, 387 yards. Now, some of
- 9:06Speaker 1: them were in garbage time, and it didn't really matter
- 9:08Speaker 1: at that point because you weren't coming on back. But
- 9:10Speaker 1: the bottom line is that you just had nothing going
- 9:13Speaker 1: your way after the second quarter, and you couldn't make
- 9:17Speaker 1: those deep shots downfield. The longest play outside of Bailey
- 9:20Speaker 1: Stockton's 59-yard grab was a 20-yard catch by Dallas Wilson.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Abrams had a 13-yard grab, and then he had a
- 9:28Speaker 1: 1-yard grab. You had nothing going with Dupree. Micah Mason,
- 9:32Speaker 1: one grab for eight yards. Luke Harping had two catches
- 9:35Speaker 1: for seven. Eric Singleton had one play for three yards.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And this offense that we thought had three difference makers
- 9:40Speaker 1: at wide receiver, right now they got kind of bottled
- 9:44Speaker 1: up at times today. I think it's frustrating. And the
- 9:46Speaker 1: offensive line was frustrating too. Because on one hand, the
- 9:49Speaker 1: pressure rate was there at times for Dylan Stewart, for
- 9:52Speaker 1: this front seven, Herring getting off of the edge, Fred
- 9:55Speaker 1: Johnson at middle linebacker. But then other times they just
- 9:58Speaker 1: need to trust the rushing attack could go there and
- 9:59Speaker 1: unfortunately took three sets back yeah you finished with 38
- 10:03Speaker 1: carries for 120 yards and you have two explosive runs
- 10:06Speaker 1: of 20 plus downfield but at the same time you
- 10:10Speaker 1: look in the mirror and you say to yourself what's
- 10:12Speaker 1: that average out to be 3.2. 3.2 ain't going to
- 10:15Speaker 1: cut it in the SEC. And credit, South Carolina came
- 10:18Speaker 1: to play. And South Carolina realized that they needed to
- 10:20Speaker 1: get a big win, and they were able to shut
- 10:22Speaker 1: you down in the backfield with three sacks, six tackles
- 10:24Speaker 1: for loss. They had two batted balls, one at the
- 10:26Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. So they made plays. They did. But
- 10:30Speaker 1: I look at this Florida team, and something just wasn't
- 10:34Speaker 1: clicking today when you need to have the critical drives.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Aaron Filey was 21-28. He has bad interception that leads
- 10:40Speaker 1: to short field position and ultimately a touchdown for South Carolina.
- 10:43Speaker 1: But it's more than just that. Buster Faulkner can probably
- 10:46Speaker 1: run an offense that is very similar to this and
- 10:48Speaker 1: think that that's good enough when you almost have 400
- 10:51Speaker 1: yards of offense and consider that a win. It's not
- 10:54Speaker 1: a win when your defense gives up nearly 400 on
- 10:57Speaker 1: the opposing side. 393 to 387 was the final. Both
- 11:01Speaker 1: teams had five penalties. Both teams rushed for only less
- 11:05Speaker 1: than 130 yards. Both teams nearly averaged the same in passing.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Just the explosives were on one side and they weren't
- 11:10Speaker 1: there on this side. And that's a question and a
- 11:12Speaker 1: testament that Brad White's going to have to go into.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And maybe it's a formation standpoint of things. And maybe
- 11:17Speaker 1: John Summerall needs to take away the play calling duties
- 11:19Speaker 1: up Brad White and take over a defense because he
- 11:22Speaker 1: is a defensive-minded coach to get this team right. Because
- 11:25Speaker 1: of how many times that you watch as the play
- 11:27Speaker 1: was unfolding and here's now a gain of two turning
- 11:29Speaker 1: into a gain of eight is ultimately what I think
- 11:32Speaker 1: was the difference in this. Just bad open field form-fitting
- 11:36Speaker 1: plays that couldn't lead to stops on second and third
- 11:39Speaker 1: down and kept momentum going in favor of South Carolina.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And it got them into the end zone. And explosives
- 11:44Speaker 1: and coverage. And that led to points. And that's why
- 11:47Speaker 1: it was a 28-9 differential once the game was tied
- 11:50Speaker 1: at 10-10. It's frustrating. And I think it's very frustrating
- 11:54Speaker 1: for a lot of Florida fans more than anything else.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Because if Florida felt like it was different with John Summerall.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And here we are still seeing major faults. Now I
- 12:01Speaker 1: will give credit. It's a first year coaching staff. And
- 12:04Speaker 1: it's a first year unit. And you're just trying to
- 12:06Speaker 1: improve from 4-8 from a season ago. Which clearly with
- 12:09Speaker 1: one more win you can do that. There's going to
- 12:10Speaker 1: be an opportunity for you to get that. You still
- 12:12Speaker 1: have to play against Florida State down the stretch. You
- 12:14Speaker 1: still have to go play against Kentucky. You still have
- 12:16Speaker 1: to go up against the offense known as Oklahoma, which
- 12:19Speaker 1: is a joke, and they still haven't scored a point.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And what now is this? They haven't scored a point
- 12:25Speaker 1: in the Red River shootout in three years, as of
- 12:28Speaker 1: right now at the time of this recording. But you
- 12:30Speaker 1: still have to play Texas. And then you get a
- 12:32Speaker 1: bye weekend. That's good. Maybe you can fix some faults defensively.
- 12:36Speaker 1: But Georgia also has studs. And Georgia has weapons that
- 12:39Speaker 1: could probably go ahead and run all over you. And
- 12:41Speaker 1: so if you're missing tackles against Matt Fuller and Mazio
- 12:44Speaker 1: Bennett and Nick Harber and Donovan Murph and Lex Cyrus
- 12:47Speaker 1: and Lenore Sellers' four touchdown passes on the day, and
- 12:50Speaker 1: he had no confidence coming into this matchup, what does
- 12:53Speaker 1: that do when Gunnar Stockton's playing with confidence and a
- 12:55Speaker 1: full deck of cards? And he's just able to pick
- 12:58Speaker 1: you apart one by one. Just slowly slip, slip, slip, slip, slip, slip.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Death by a thousand paper cuts. That's the concerning part.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I'm not ready to give up on Florida. I don't
- 13:07Speaker 1: think that Florida is going to the college football playoff,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and I think that we all have to admit Guys,
- 13:12Speaker 1: what we witnessed in week four was not the real Florida.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Maybe there's some faults here that need to be corrected long-term.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But still, I'm not ready to give up on Florida.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And I believe in John Summer on long-term. And I
- 13:23Speaker 1: still believe you had the best play caller in college
- 13:25Speaker 1: football with Buster Faulkner. But when you give up what
- 13:29Speaker 1: should be a loss of three and make it a
- 13:31Speaker 1: gain of six, that's a problem. And I don't know
- 13:34Speaker 1: if it can be fixed this season. And the worst
- 13:38Speaker 1: part is that you still have games against really talented
- 13:40Speaker 1: offenses going up. There still is talent, whether you like
- 13:43Speaker 1: it or not, with Cam Coleman, Emmitt Mosley, the running
- 13:48Speaker 1: back duo of Texas. You still have to go up against,
- 13:53Speaker 1: what is Georgia? You still have to go up against Kentucky.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And those are games that you probably can make it
- 13:58Speaker 1: in a fair. The offense, I think, can show on up.
- 14:01Speaker 1: But if you also need to have that it factor,
- 14:04Speaker 1: something clicking, because it's not clicking right now. And it's
- 14:07Speaker 1: been eight quarters of it really not clicking at a
- 14:09Speaker 1: finite rate. You get an extra 45 plus minutes to
- 14:14Speaker 1: be able to fix your defensive faults. And once again,
- 14:16Speaker 1: the explosives are the difference in the second half. It's
- 14:20Speaker 1: a problem. And it's a problem last week against Mizzou.
- 14:23Speaker 1: It's a problem that's probably going to continue going on
- 14:24Speaker 1: this week. And it'll be something that Florida needs to
- 14:26Speaker 1: be able to figure on out. I, again, you're sitting
- 14:30Speaker 1: at 4-2. There's an opportunity for you to still continue
- 14:32Speaker 1: your pathway and maybe get to 8-4. 9-3 I don't
- 14:35Speaker 1: think is entirely out of the realm of possibility. But
- 14:38Speaker 1: I do think that we have to admit, that probably
- 14:40Speaker 1: what we saw, those games against Auburn, those games against
- 14:43Speaker 1: Ole Miss, that was the peak of 2026. This may
- 14:49Speaker 1: be the floor. You want to get somewhere in the middle.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Have your defense get a couple of turnovers. Have your
- 14:55Speaker 1: offensive line be a little bit more efficient when it
- 14:58Speaker 1: comes to blocking. And certainly get more into your running
- 15:01Speaker 1: back room. Because I can tell you what, Jaden Baum,
- 15:04Speaker 1: you don't finish with 100 yards right now. It's not
- 15:06Speaker 1: looking pretty if you're going to win a football game.
- 15:08Speaker 1: In fact, I would say for this point moving forward,
- 15:10Speaker 1: you need to see triple digits next to his name
- 15:11Speaker 1: if you want to win. Not because of Aaron Filo
