• 0:24
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh man, I'm doing good.
• 0:25
  [SPEAKER_01]: How are you, Bob?
• 0:26
[SPEAKER_04]: Man, I am rad dude.
• 0:28
[SPEAKER_04]: I feel right as rain today.
• 0:30
  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it is.
• 0:31
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it is about these Friday shows that it love maybe it's the end of the week.
• 0:37
  [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's because I'm in a party.
• 0:38
[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's because I'm going to a concert tonight.
• 0:41
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what it is, but I feel great today, Louis.
• 0:44
[SPEAKER_04]: Where are you at currently?
• 0:45
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in Nashville, Tennessee, right around the corner.
• 0:49
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm headed to a right this morning, trying to write my next number one hit, you know?
• 0:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
• 0:53
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're here in Nashville, just, you know, it's actually, it does, I'm right as rain.
• 0:58
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy like rain, like every day this week, but it's been hot, but it's okay, my grass loves it.
• 1:03
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm down, I'm down for it.
• 1:05
[SPEAKER_04]: My grass sort of loves it right now.
• 1:07
[SPEAKER_04]: It's about me high because we've got the same rain.
• 1:09
[SPEAKER_04]: I think across the country and I'm trying to get the dudes in and they're always just like, hey dude, I can't, I can't come today.
• 1:17
[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to rain and I'm like sweet, but the grass is now above my kneecapped and yes, I pay people to do the grass.
• 1:25
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm locked into a studio all day so I don't really get a home until night.
• 1:29
[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't want to bother the neighbors and all that other fun stuff, they're the HOAs.
• 1:34
[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you can't mow after eight.
• 1:36
[SPEAKER_04]: I can mow my yard whenever I want.
• 1:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: And then I don't.
• 1:39
  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't.
• 1:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
• 1:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever you want, we're in whatever you want.
• 1:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Dragonberry.
• 1:44
  [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
• 1:45
  [SPEAKER_04]: We're a Nashville.
• 1:47
[SPEAKER_04]: Are you about right now?
• 1:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, currently I am right home music roast.
• 1:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: I am right here.
• 1:52
[SPEAKER_01]: We're all all the magic happens.
• 1:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
• 1:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just where I go.
• 1:55
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm right during the week whenever I'm home.
• 1:57
[SPEAKER_01]: And on the weekends, I'm on road traveling.
• 1:59
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're right here going to famous music room.
• 2:01
[SPEAKER_01]: We're all the songs written where you get thousands of writers are writing.
• 2:05
[SPEAKER_01]: Big old hit songs every day and it's just fun.
• 2:08
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a I'm fortunate to still be doing it and I got a good home over there at Sony and so we're just we're trying to grind it out.
• 2:15
[SPEAKER_01]: I got a whole bunch of new movies.
• 2:16
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll try my goals are trying to put out as much music as I possibly can right now.
• 2:20
[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously been in the right and been and you know, hashting them out and so I think I'm almost like third song already putting out this year so we're trying to go for five or six.
• 2:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I think that's the name of the game right now I'll give you a bit of my back history so parents got divorced when I was to father was a radio DJ and was a broadcaster on television for 35 years somewhere in that neighborhood and I spent my summers in Nashville so he had custody of me in the summers and he worked at a country station and every single country artist back in the day was cassette tapes.
• 2:58
[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I'm really going to show my age today was cassettes, but people would be over the house musicians, aspiring musicians, dropping off country tapes, trying to get on the radio every single day and then they would end up hanging out jamming at the house and just trying to get the the new wave of music.
• 3:17
[SPEAKER_04]: He, this was in the 80s, he was Dayton, Tanya Tucker.
• 3:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
• 3:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
• 3:22
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 3:23
[SPEAKER_04]: So, Tanya was always over.
• 3:24
[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of sniffles from the bathroom back there on the weekends.
• 3:28
[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever price I'm being honest with you here.
• 3:30
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I honestly is the best policy.
• 3:34
[SPEAKER_04]: But I got to see some of these up-and-comers before they got big and guys like how catch them.
• 3:41
  [SPEAKER_04]: And stuff like that.
• 3:42
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so they were always over dropping off either tapes or playing music.
• 3:48
[SPEAKER_04]: And it was a blast of an environment to grow up in because I never knew who was coming over.
• 3:53
[SPEAKER_04]: And then obviously as I got older, some of these guys would make it.
• 3:57
[SPEAKER_04]: Some of these guys won't, but the name of the game was songwriting.
• 4:02
[SPEAKER_04]: if you could write your own songs, you could write your own ticket.
• 4:05
[SPEAKER_04]: Are you writing your own songs currently?
• 4:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: I am.
• 4:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: I am.
• 4:08
[SPEAKER_01]: I rarely really cut outside songs.
• 4:11
[SPEAKER_01]: I think I've only cut two outside songs in my whole career.
• 4:14
[SPEAKER_01]: And so actually this song I'm putting out, you know, coming out today actually.
• 4:19
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't write the song, but my sister-in-law wrote it with a couple other great writers of Richard Flore, Nate Kenyan, and Delia Shane, I just found out, but yeah, I like to write, I like to put out my music that I write about because I feel like my fans like kind of know me, and so for me to get invested of a song, I feel like I don't need to be part of it, and for me to be a part of it, I kind of
• 4:40
[SPEAKER_01]: got to write a little bit.
• 4:41
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I could drift all the different subjects of what I've been through through my life.
• 4:44
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, I've been through the heartbreaks and the good times, bad times.
• 4:48
[SPEAKER_01]: And now, you know, it was just kind of, but most of the time, I was kind of right where I'm at in life.
• 4:52
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, yeah, man, it's just, it's done pretty good for me so far.
• 4:57
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's still, it's still keeps the boat floating.
• 4:59
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and that's all that matters right now is just kind of keep in the boat floating during these tough times.
• 5:05
[SPEAKER_04]: For songwriting, it's gotten very interesting to me.
• 5:08
[SPEAKER_04]: So a buddy of mine opened up for Toby Keith for about four years on the road.
• 5:13
[SPEAKER_04]: He had a couple hit songs in country.
• 5:16
  [SPEAKER_04]: He was an actor.
• 5:17
[SPEAKER_04]: And then ultimately, he got a bunch of TV shows, so he went on to do that instead of,
• 5:24
[SPEAKER_04]: And on the road, doing country and he called me two weeks ago and he goes, dude, have you been, you know, toying with with AI and I said, yes, a lot of us are using AI and he goes, hey, dude, people are sending me songs, fully finished with my voice in it and then they want me to go into the studio and record it.
• 5:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Is that party your process now?
• 5:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, no, I use a little bit different, but yes, I do.
• 5:52
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you're not going to use the tools that are there, you know, I try to use a as a tool.
• 5:57
[SPEAKER_01]: And our biggest down now, Suna is in the songwriting world.
• 6:00
  [SPEAKER_01]: And so it's funny.
• 6:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, where did that first came out?
• 6:04
[SPEAKER_01]: I've had some friends in my ex.
• 6:05
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been in Nashville for quite some time right in music, you know, about 20 plus years.
• 6:09
  [SPEAKER_01]: And so I really,
• 6:11
[SPEAKER_01]: enjoy the craft and I really appreciate the the the roads I've been down and so all the stuff I've learned and so I've had some of my friends you know so a lot of people from around just send me songs and they're like hey man bro this song I'm like oh you wrote a song honey send it to me's full produced got everything on it I said well tell me your process how did you write the song so oh man I talked to the girl and I told them about this idea
• 6:34
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I said, man, you know, to back in, and the Bible together, and, and, and the rock would write out a whole thing for them, and then they would kind of put it and they would take what they wrote out and then put it into sooner, and then they said they would write a song.
• 6:48
  [SPEAKER_01]: Huh?
• 6:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: Stop.
• 6:50
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I am in Pennsylvania when I look at it, but I know, I just don't use it in that form.
• 6:54
[SPEAKER_01]: For me, I feel like the, it's kind of like golf a little bit, you got to have a little integrity.
• 6:59
[SPEAKER_01]: And so for me, I like to write the song first.
• 7:02
[SPEAKER_01]: have it finished and I kind of, I like using it more as a, as a tool for like production wise, just with that way.
• 7:08
[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, for me, we'll get the song done and all we have is a guitar vocal and you're going to get in a demo, you know, to build a sell the song.
• 7:15
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it needs a little more, you know, muscle behind it like a full band.
• 7:19
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why people go in and they hire bands to do demo sessions.
• 7:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you don't have like a big, you know, uh,
• 7:26
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, plus it to bring in these players, you know, a couple thousand dollars and also to rent the studio about a body and adds up.
• 7:34
[SPEAKER_01]: You can just take that guitar vocal and put it into Suna and be like, and you can see, and I tell everyone about doing, you know, say, follow the vocal and the music melody right on to the T, just because I don't want to venture too far out of me, but then I say, but then I say, hey, make it with a country turn with a rock and roll background.
• 7:52
[SPEAKER_01]: and it'll spit out a cool, fully-production-productive song that I feel like that's pretty much what I would come out to if I were in a room with a whole full band, you know, making it demo out.
• 8:03
[SPEAKER_01]: So, as a songwriter, I mean, people are using it all a bunch of different ways.
• 8:09
[SPEAKER_01]: For me, that's what I found where to have the most integrity to it to where it's keep it a songwriter real and keeping the human touch on the songwriting world.
• 8:22
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy though, it's really a wild thing they are because everybody's got to think every time you enter an idea over your voice or your You know, anyway just your your actions of how good because it keeps you know, it's it's once it sends you know, it's there and they have your character, they have your They have genesis, they have your voice, they have and then they'll take you, keep checking that that's way out.
• 8:46
[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy what they are.
• 8:47
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean you think about it now how many songs do you think has been put in
• 8:52
[SPEAKER_01]: to sooner from how many different people I mean millions so now millions and so that and then every time it's in there it's got that data and so you know that's when I hear when it spits when it spits a music back out at me you know I can tell with the I could tell if it's a soon-o-dimbo just because of the tones because it sounds like the vocal they put they sent to you it's like they blend
• 9:16
[SPEAKER_01]: hundreds of thousands of vocals in the one just to make it that tone and yet I kind of hear that just because I have a train to ear just here and that stuff but you know it's a great tool to have out there.
• 9:27
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not I'm not a guest at you know I'm always good for you know advances in technology and stuff like that and it's here so there's no denying it you're not going to
• 9:38
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you're not going to get around.
• 9:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's here.
• 9:39
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those things.
• 9:40
[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of like this kind of like social media.
• 9:42
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's here.
• 9:43
  [SPEAKER_04]: 100% agree.
• 9:45
[SPEAKER_04]: And that's the reason I brought it up was we were doing it three nights ago, one of me in my co-host Jared.
• 9:53
  [SPEAKER_04]: We're using soon.
• 9:55
[SPEAKER_04]: now you can sing into it.
• 9:56
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a blast and like now you can sing into it.
• 10:00
[SPEAKER_04]: It knows your vocals and then it'll be able to stretch out those vocals and if you can write you can potentially create a hit song but it's one of those things where yes it is a tool you need to know how to use the tool and if you if you can be successful at it you can grind out I mean hundreds and hundreds of songs
• 10:21
[SPEAKER_04]: And after today's report, I saw this morning that Netflix released their quarterly reports and one of the most shocking things was that 600 of their movies slash TV shows were using AI.
• 10:36
[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody knew that before until this morning.
• 10:39
[SPEAKER_04]: I was like holy shit it's it's definitely here.
• 10:42
[SPEAKER_04]: I know post-malone recently entered interview and he said he's using it more and more and in a lot of songwriters in Nashville in particular because let's face it everybody's trying to get a song to Morgan Wallen right now.
• 10:55
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh absolutely.
• 10:56
[SPEAKER_04]: Our AIing his voice in to the songs that they write and then sending it to Morgan's team to try to get him to re-record it and all that other stuff.
• 11:05
[SPEAKER_04]: It's, it's just gotten wild to me, as far as songwriters are concerned, I feel like they've all congregated in Nashville, how many pitches do you get on a daily basis of like, hey, I'd love for you to sing this song.
• 11:20
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, for me, I'm gonna, I get pissed quite a few songs here and there.
• 11:25
[SPEAKER_01]: More is that something right in all the time, those of you that people know, I kind of kind of stick them out on music, but, man, I honestly think it's literally there hundreds of me like today.
• 11:34
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm going in there, you know, I'm going here like an hour, I'm not going to write, but there probably be, you know, in the saying one building, there'll be, you know,
• 11:42
[SPEAKER_01]: 50 other people trying to write a song and so and that's just in one building and there's a huge rock and they write in all the world you know deaf deaf a natural isn't a mecca of writing and right now like you know the publishing world there they're looking for they're looking for new new new taste and music because because there's so much music and the music is so accessible everybody can make music and that's just I'm just not saying that but you know some people probably shouldn't but everybody is
• 12:08
[SPEAKER_01]: because because they have access to it.
• 12:10
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I said, it would be access to sooner.
• 12:12
  [SPEAKER_01]: They can do that.
• 12:13
[SPEAKER_01]: They're their voice in there and, you know, to come up with something kind of similar with AI stuff like that.
• 12:18
[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just the music business right now is booming.
• 12:23
[SPEAKER_01]: And you got to have the people to keep the music going and want it in there.
• 12:27
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're over all the music business And they see our people want more more music.
• 12:31
[SPEAKER_01]: So now they got to have more more writers because Because they yes some of these these other artists they're coming out and getting viral They might pop off like one of their songs, but once they go past that
• 12:41
[SPEAKER_01]: think they're in the room that they immediately get bought and they get put in the rooms with these other writers which it's not a bad thing because there's some these these big writers there's a reason why they're songwriters and I've known that you know for a long time because I'm yeah I'm still learning every day when I walk to a room with other songwriters and just their different tendencies and whether they're drawn to everybody has their different tendencies because I got I generally know if I've written with you before I know what kind of song I'm probably going to come out with whenever I come out when I'm going to roll out
• 13:11
[SPEAKER_01]: of how to work with somebody in their inner writer's room, but it's just like, yeah, it's good, it's, it's, it's a lot, a lot of, a lot of writers out there, it's a very, very competitive world.
• 13:17
  [SPEAKER_01]: And again, it's almost a two point now, it's like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
• 13:26
[SPEAKER_01]: If you get a cut from your pitch person, that pitch person deserves a lot like a big old stake tender because it's not easy pitch it songs at change about it and unless you're the right, unless you write with the artist, that's the best way I feel like right now if you want to get a cut with an artist you want to write with the artist.
• 13:43
[SPEAKER_01]: or somebody or somebody in their team or in their writer were in the writer can't or do you that way you can have direct unless you have direct access to the artist you know that and that that's you know and that's me coming to you as a writer rather than the artist um you know that's just been my goal because of me a
• 13:59
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm an art.
• 13:59
[SPEAKER_01]: I love being an artist and that's what I'm doing to forever.
• 14:02
  [SPEAKER_01]: I've got, you know, I love, I'm a lot.
• 14:03
[SPEAKER_01]: I come up a life where I guess, you know, that's my drill and rush.
• 14:08
[SPEAKER_01]: I love being on stage.
• 14:08
[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, here in the past years, I've still loved writing to and my, my really passionate goal was to really get like a major cut.
• 14:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
• 14:15
[SPEAKER_01]: And I know that's every song where I just go, but that's I'm really been a lot of focused on writing, writing a lot of songs.
• 14:21
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and for me, I feel like it, it challenged me to write a better song.
• 14:25
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, and when I write the better song, if somebody has a knock on it, hey, that's better for me.
• 14:30
[SPEAKER_01]: And I get a cherry pick to great songs.
• 14:33
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 14:34
[SPEAKER_04]: And for you personally, you know, when I'm doing research for these shows, you've said a lot of your influences in the Florida Keys.
• 14:40
[SPEAKER_04]: You were playing down in the Florida Keys, which is interesting to me.
• 14:44
[SPEAKER_04]: I watch every music documentary on the planets.
• 14:47
  [SPEAKER_04]: I will read any.
• 14:49
[SPEAKER_04]: music biography, I love it.
• 14:52
[SPEAKER_04]: Part of me wonders, do you wish you maybe would have stayed in the keys to continue that vibe throughout the career or do you think there's more talent in Nashville that you're like, okay?
• 15:04
[SPEAKER_04]: I need to be here versus somewhere else.
• 15:06
[SPEAKER_04]: The reason I bring this up, I just watch that Noah Condoc on Netflix.
• 15:10
[SPEAKER_04]: And he was going through what seems like depression.
• 15:15
[SPEAKER_04]: Deep, deep depression, and he was living in Nashville.
• 15:18
[SPEAKER_04]: And just said, man, I can't work in this environment everywhere I go.
• 15:22
[SPEAKER_04]: People are asking me about streaming numbers or what the next, you know, singles going to be and all this other stuff, and then he got out of it and went back to Vermonts and was able to pump out an album pretty quickly.
• 15:34
[SPEAKER_04]: For you, what's the difference of playing in the Florida Keys and creating
• 15:40
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, to be honest, I definitely need to be Nashville for what I want to do.
• 15:46
[SPEAKER_01]: I love the keys, keys and that was my favorite, that was my place, I was like my second home.
• 15:50
[SPEAKER_01]: Like when I first started playing music, rather than playing the Broadway scene, I went to Key West because I just wouldn't, I went all about playing the cover before I recover gigs, you know.
• 16:00
[SPEAKER_01]: And down to Key West, I could play my original music during my sets.
• 16:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: And so I had a great,
• 16:06
[SPEAKER_01]: friends of family down there and uh you know just a quick shout out my man uh not to bring anything down my one of my best friends when I really good good buddies he was a legend out of QS for the caffeine carl um he was one of the guitar players down there played everywhere with all the other bands so I wanted to show that he just passed away uh his past weekend
• 16:24
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want to send some love out to his family stuff like that prayers, but because he was a legend, if you ever go to Key West, ask about him, you'll know about him.
• 16:32
[SPEAKER_01]: But I had a lot of times playing shows with him, but I don't know the other day down there.
• 16:38
[SPEAKER_01]: I love playing down there, and yes, I played for the last four kind of where I grew to.
• 16:43
[SPEAKER_01]: Play for the fans, you know, from all over the world, and also rather than me playing four hours of coverage songs that are not mine, I could play like, you know, an hour and a half of coverage songs play an hour and a half of original stuff, and stuff that I'd been writing in Nashville, because I was going back and forth from Nashville to Key West.
• 16:59
[SPEAKER_01]: But I also had to make money to pay rent.
• 17:01
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's, I've got on the QS for like two or three weeks at a time.
• 17:05
[SPEAKER_01]: They could come back, pay my rent, you know, right, grab it out for a couple of weeks.
• 17:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Just do my network, then go out, just send the other, and then I could go back to down the QS, play for a couple of weeks on there, and I just, and it was really cool, because I went out there so much.
• 17:19
[SPEAKER_01]: I really built a fan base in QS, and if you do, and you know, QS, it's on a little island.
• 17:24
[SPEAKER_01]: So it kind of like a miniature version of Texas, I guess.
• 17:26
[SPEAKER_01]: So it can use QS fans to put it with oil.
• 17:29
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's just that it's not a whole bunch of them and you're a pretty famous down there.
• 17:34
[SPEAKER_04]: And there is something to be said about that when you own an area and you're the dude versus going back into the the deep pond of Nashville where you're like, oh shit, there's a lot of motherfuckers out here.
• 17:46
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there are there and I definitely, I definitely weren't my way into, to, to, to good graces of Kiwes and that's not a easy place to get, get through the, uh, the, the locals of the stuff like that.
• 17:56
[SPEAKER_01]: But again, with people who like my buddy, caffeine, Carl, the Bromian, and Nick Norman, he's down there.
• 18:02
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big, big name down there.
• 18:04
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a bunch of great music, I've written with him, but uh, but yeah, man, Kiwes, it was, it was very cool to be down there and also, but it's like, you know, that wasn't, that one,
• 18:14
[SPEAKER_01]: What fueled me what fuels me is going all over this nation of plan from the big stages Uh, I just have like a the bigger stage for me.
• 18:21
[SPEAKER_01]: I just had that in me.
• 18:22
[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and that that's my juice man Uh, I got a drink that juice when I get on the stage.
• 18:28
[SPEAKER_01]: That gets to go on really it really does You know for me all the work the work is the right and the work is the Travelling in eight hours in a van as work is you know putting the tour together the work is you know the rehearsals
• 18:41
[SPEAKER_01]: The reward is me being on stage, you know, I give, you know, that's why I do all this is for me to be on the stage Because I do those 40 minutes those 50 minutes there's hour, hour, hour, hour, long, you know, this 15 minutes But if you what I'm on stage, that's my time to shine and that's when I can let's let everything I got in me out and let it out the music and because music is a healing thing for me, you know
• 19:03
[SPEAKER_01]: I've write about your stories, stuff that I've been through my whole life, so I can talk about it, hash it back out, let it out again.
• 19:10
[SPEAKER_01]: And also, I think the purpose for me being here in playing music live, and those 40 minutes, whether I know it or not, my story that I've been through that just let somebody else out there in the crowd, whether good or bad, letting their not alone, they're not going through something by themselves, that somebody has been there and they've made it out.
• 19:28
[SPEAKER_01]: or they're still in it and things are good, you know, and that's kind of when music kind of sings about that family, you know, it's just a big thing.
• 19:37
[SPEAKER_01]: And so because a lot of people, you know, they have different types of family.
• 19:40
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, and I think I think about, you know, pre-broad I've been very fortunate with my family growing up.
• 19:45
[SPEAKER_01]: I have very, very family great about bringing, and not everybody else does, but at the same time it's like, you know, as I get further in my life, you know, you know, you
• 19:54
[SPEAKER_01]: I look back at some things they wouldn't, you know, in my brain, it was beautiful, but there's a lot of things that might not be as great as beautiful things like that.
• 20:02
[SPEAKER_01]: It's fun to do this business, it's fun writing and everything, and I'm excited about all the music, I come this year, so it's be good.
• 20:12

[SPEAKER_02]: On the previous show, Angle was gonna clamp down on him hard and he used the gravity and fucking past the ball off and two goals.
• 20:56
  [SPEAKER_02]: Two assists.
• 20:57
  [SPEAKER_02]: Two assists.
• 20:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's not how you think Messi's gonna win that game but we talked about it before it happened.
• 21:02
[SPEAKER_02]: If they try to trap him like that, he is going to make the move.
• 21:04
  [SPEAKER_02]: He's not Ronaldo.
• 21:06
[SPEAKER_02]: No, let's be clear about that.
• 21:07
[SPEAKER_04]: And he just broke the scoring record a week ago, just broke the assist record yesterday, but those assist were his.
• 21:14
[SPEAKER_04]: He is the greatest ever.
• 21:15
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to think about what Pellie did back in the day, and especially if he's able to cap this off and win another World Cup a back-to-back for the first time since Pellie did it.
• 21:26
[SPEAKER_02]: And the competition then versus now as well.
• 21:29
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, right.
• 21:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's no questions the best ever.
• 21:32
[SPEAKER_04]: So are you taking them or not?
• 21:33
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
• 21:34
  [SPEAKER_04]: I am too.
• 21:34
  [SPEAKER_04]: I can't bet against them, man.
• 21:38
[SPEAKER_04]: with home yesterday, rooting for England is a big England fan.
• 21:41
[SPEAKER_04]: I was unaware by the way how big the fee for the game is.
• 21:44
[SPEAKER_02]: My God, dude, every kid plays feast.
• 21:47
  [SPEAKER_02]: I played.
• 21:48
  [SPEAKER_02]: Do you really?
• 21:48
  [SPEAKER_02]: Well, not anymore.
• 21:49
[SPEAKER_04]: So they know all their names, man.
• 21:50
[SPEAKER_04]: And they all have their favorite teams in his was England.
• 21:53
[SPEAKER_04]: I brought him back a hat and all that stuff.
• 21:55
[SPEAKER_02]: The only thing that gets played on my PlayStation anymore is fucking mine, Graff, brother.
• 21:59
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm short set.
• 22:00
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm short.
• 22:01
[SPEAKER_02]: I played that thing in the years.
• 22:02
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, dude.
• 22:03
[SPEAKER_04]: But because of this, I cannot bet against messy.
• 22:06
[SPEAKER_04]: I think Spain is a better team.
• 22:08
[SPEAKER_04]: It just feels like this is,
• 22:11
[SPEAKER_04]: to find intervention or something.
• 22:13
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's no possibility of how to describe this.
• 22:17
[SPEAKER_04]: They were down one zero.
• 22:18
[SPEAKER_04]: They've come back in the last four games.
• 22:20
[SPEAKER_04]: It scored two goals and six minutes to end it in one, two to one, England was devastated.
• 22:26
[SPEAKER_04]: Are you, do you fuck around the third place game, France versus England?
• 22:30
  [SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't care.
• 22:31
[SPEAKER_04]: Because you don't, do you just say, don't care?
• 22:33
[SPEAKER_02]: I hope both teams lose.
• 22:34
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't like either of those countries.
• 22:37
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, this is a really fun game because it's in Boba versus Harry Kane.
• 22:41
[SPEAKER_04]: I just wonder what the excitement.
• 22:44
[SPEAKER_04]: Are they going to play?
• 22:44
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they are.
• 22:46
[SPEAKER_04]: Um, so what do you do?
• 22:46
[SPEAKER_04]: What did you get bricked up for this?
• 22:48
  [SPEAKER_04]: No, I wouldn't play.
• 22:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: I don't play in loser games.
• 22:50
  [SPEAKER_04]: I know, man.
• 22:51
  [SPEAKER_04]: It's strange.
• 22:52
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, but I'm all in on Massey.
• 22:54
[SPEAKER_04]: Give me Argentina on Sunday and it's a heart pick.
• 22:58
[SPEAKER_04]: I just want to see it happen.
• 22:59
[SPEAKER_04]: I think the story is great.
• 23:01
[SPEAKER_04]: And it'd be a fucking blast man to cement him as the goat.
• 23:05
  [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's 39.
• 23:05
[SPEAKER_04]: This is his last world cup anyways to walk off like that with the trophy in his hand would be amazing to see.
• 23:12
[SPEAKER_04]: So I hope it happens.
• 23:13
[SPEAKER_04]: That's where my money is going.
• 23:15
[SPEAKER_04]: And obviously we got the British open going on this weekend.
• 23:18
[SPEAKER_04]: You can take some live lines on that.
• 23:20
[SPEAKER_04]: College footballs getting cranked up in August and NFL's in September.

  [SPEAKER_04]: They're here, brother.
• 23:40
  [SPEAKER_04]: Look at him, dude.
• 23:42
[SPEAKER_04]: Luke was eating these left and right, dude, and you were just like, man, these are the tastiest bars I've ever had.
• 23:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I love some mean man, you know.
• 23:50
  [SPEAKER_02]: Sure, dude.
• 23:50
  [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's essentially Pemekin.
• 23:51
[SPEAKER_02]: You guys have heard me talk about Pemekin before, and I don't want to speak for them.
• 23:55
[SPEAKER_02]: But Pemekin typically, not typically, but I don't know if you would put salt in it necessarily.
• 24:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Some people do, some people don't.
• 24:02
[SPEAKER_02]: It would be fine too.
• 24:03
[SPEAKER_02]: There's it wouldn't affect the shelf stability of it, but it has a huge shelf stability.
• 24:08
  [SPEAKER_02]: So if you're like,
• 24:09
[SPEAKER_02]: you want you want something for an emergency situation or if you just want a lot of protein in fact right now this is I use this myself yeah I may so I make it but I also have a shitload of carnivore at my house yeah dude this is a great for any survival situation as well because it lasts forever you can go and flip over any protein bar in your pantry and actually read the labels, seed oils
• 24:34
[SPEAKER_04]: Sugar alcohols, natural flavors, I'm using that in the air quotes.
• 24:38
[SPEAKER_04]: A list of ingredients you can't pronounce, especially me.
• 24:42
[SPEAKER_04]: Most protein bars are candy with better marketing.
• 24:45
[SPEAKER_04]: Every day bar is the one we've found is actually real food.
• 24:50
[SPEAKER_04]: Taste great, it's affordable, and fill up meat.
• 24:53
[SPEAKER_04]: The owner was a combat medic in Afghanistan.
• 24:58
[SPEAKER_04]: The every day bar has three ingredients.
• 25:00
  [SPEAKER_04]: 100% beef, grass-finished beef-tallow, and sea salt.
• 25:04
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
• 25:05
[SPEAKER_04]: No seed oils, no fillers.
• 25:07
[SPEAKER_04]: None of the mystery blends, no asterics.
• 25:09
[SPEAKER_04]: You can read the label in three seconds.
• 25:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
• 25:13
[SPEAKER_04]: That kind of simplicity is almost impossible to find in the snack aisle as Dan said.
• 25:20
  [SPEAKER_04]: It's pamekin.
• 25:22
[SPEAKER_04]: It's built on pamekin, actually.
• 25:24
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, pamekin, it's just dried meat.
• 25:29
[SPEAKER_02]: It's dried meat and beef talo.
• 25:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, I guess we could use any kind of talo, but beef talo and then you can use salt.
• 25:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Some people will put berries or something like that.
• 25:41
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you put berries or dried, even dried, is they got apple pie?
• 25:45
[SPEAKER_02]: It shortens the shelf stability usually to like a year from five to 15, but I don't know what carnivores is specifically.
• 25:53
[SPEAKER_02]: I know that even their beef apple and season example.
• 25:57
[SPEAKER_02]: I know even their flavored ones have a longer shelf stability than ones that you're going to make it home.
• 26:01
[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, because it's wrapped in the right kind of wrapper.
• 26:06
  [SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
• 26:07
[SPEAKER_02]: You're not doing that at your house.
• 26:09

[SPEAKER_02]: You've ever seen the video of him bantering with his son about eggs.
• 27:10
  [SPEAKER_02]: I was really funny.
• 27:11
[SPEAKER_02]: His son just wants scrambled eggs right now, which is what most people want.
• 27:15

• 31:22
[SPEAKER_02]: a change to a fly I told him to give me like a 70s can't be a style of fine.
• 31:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so speaking to that, there's two schools of thought that are going on right now.
• 31:33
[SPEAKER_04]: I had a guy who's become a dear friend that was on the show, last year named Little Man J, he's a country singer, and he was pumping out just hit after hit after hit.
• 31:46
[SPEAKER_04]: However, he's independent on purpose.
• 31:49
[SPEAKER_04]: He's only releasing one song at a time.
• 31:52
[SPEAKER_04]: I think one, I think he told me three or four weeks.
• 31:58
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the best thing.
• 32:00
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
• 32:00
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's it is.
• 32:01
[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so I was stunning to hear that.
• 32:04
[SPEAKER_04]: But then I sat down with them.
• 32:06
[SPEAKER_04]: He was stated my house and all that other stuff.
• 32:09
[SPEAKER_04]: And he had about 36, 40 songs that were already finished.
• 32:14
[SPEAKER_04]: And he was talking about the slow drip process of what it's become and how to build a fan base and everything else.
• 32:20
[SPEAKER_04]: Now, let's flip this to Morgan Wallen.
• 32:23
[SPEAKER_04]: Morgan Wallen is putting out albums with 36, 40 songs at a time, which is also wild to me, because if you're that great, and you have to, yeah, and that's what I'm trying to get to the bottom of here.
• 32:39
[SPEAKER_04]: What is the difference between the two and why are people either going one way or the other right now?
• 32:44
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I feel like I have a valid answer for both of those questions.
• 32:48
[SPEAKER_01]: A little man, Jay, I love his music, by the way.
• 32:50
[SPEAKER_01]: He said, I have to get to meet him, but I watch him all the time.
• 32:53
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great music, love what he does.
• 32:56
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's got, yeah, he's right, you know, Fed.
• 32:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I'm doing now.
• 32:59
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of doing the same thing he's doing right now.
• 33:00
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm when it comes to the slow-drip music, putting it out over the path.
• 33:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: I've done the album.
• 33:04
[SPEAKER_01]: I've done a few releases in a row and then I out them stuff like that.
• 33:10
[SPEAKER_01]: But now, for me, I've been wanting to get back to.
• 33:13
[SPEAKER_01]: consecutive release is about every four to six weeks because that's kind of what you know whatever you put the song out and if you know and that's again that's whatever streaming in world is your game that that's your that's the way you make money that's what if you own your masters and streaming that's your that's your main radio is not and so that is that's there's I'll get it in a minute but so I'm doing to save that put up music every four to six weeks and then you know you can always add that up remaster and put them on an album and it's just what it keeps that algorithm going keep your listeners going up and up and up and up and up and then
• 33:43
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you're putting out custom music, the eyeballs are still kind of coming to you.
• 33:47
[SPEAKER_01]: And it depends on your fan as well.
• 33:49
[SPEAKER_01]: For him, it's gonna be, whatever your fans want a record, they'll give you, we'll go to give you a record, but you wanna have now to put out a record to build a get enough exposure on the record, I feel like.
• 34:01
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to put out like 30 some of the songs so you can have like 10 or 15 Grat tracks because you can only put it.
• 34:07
[SPEAKER_01]: You can only have what I say.
• 34:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: Grat tracks.
• 34:09
[SPEAKER_01]: You can only put out a certain number of say.
• 34:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting out an album of 10 songs without.
• 34:14
[SPEAKER_01]: I can only promote like you know, like before the whole album has to be dropped five songs.
• 34:19
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I feel like, you know, when I say promote like you put into system and they try and run it put in a playlist that they're Spotify.
• 34:27
[SPEAKER_01]: There's four or five songs that don't get that same treatment on that zone record.
• 34:31
[SPEAKER_01]: And so for 30 song album, you get you know 15 songs.
• 34:36
[SPEAKER_01]: That's a scratch track to say you said that way you have 15 songs about it about it in your 15 song You have enough eyeballs in that record where there's a lot of promotion going in every 46 weeks And you know, it's leading up to us about that's how you get a slow you're going to best of both worlds with reason why they're doing that It's so they can have so many grass tracks to just slowly tear drop and up to raise to to get to the catalyst of the full record I guess that's someone answers the question
• 35:00
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it does.
• 35:01
[SPEAKER_04]: It does actually, because I think those streaming numbers counts.
• 35:05
[SPEAKER_04]: So let's say you were to drop that album.
• 35:07
  [SPEAKER_04]: Doesn't it tally up?
• 35:08
[SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of like, oh, I'll put it in my terms.
• 35:12
[SPEAKER_04]: Whenever I write a book, all of the pre-sales count towards the first week for the New York Times best seller list.
• 35:19
[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm really, really pushing that all the way up and so the first week.
• 35:23
[SPEAKER_04]: And then after that, it starts over again on the New York Times best seller list.
• 35:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Albums as well where all those pre-sit like essentially pre-sales I'll use air quotes on that count towards the sales for that album
• 35:37
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it does and that's why that's why the precell is so important these days and you know Yeah, if it wasn't for a long time and but now it is because whenever and also it's a big day for algorithm or for You play a list of like that if day of drop you already have you know a hundred thousand Precells or pre downloads even if it's a single That's songs on a hit every major playlist if you want and because it just drops now to algorithm
• 36:04
[SPEAKER_01]: crap, this song's going, hey, why is going nuts?
• 36:06
[SPEAKER_01]: We got to get it on, just play less to kind of keep it rolling.
• 36:09
[SPEAKER_01]: And so the pre-save is a really great thing to do, even especially for albums.
• 36:13
[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't even more serious because, and that's why you had those grad tracks, you know,
• 36:18
[SPEAKER_01]: as we're if you got like a 30 song, a 30 song, a record, or if you get 15 songs, you really push and develop those streams.
• 36:26
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and so if every song, 15 songs go viral and you know, made you play this by the time you get a 15th year, you're sitting over millions of streams before the physical album drops.
• 36:38
[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's really cool, it's definitely a thing and the difference between
• 36:45
[SPEAKER_01]: and a little man is because we want more and has a record label behind him.
• 36:49
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, but also he's on a success level.
• 36:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: He's in a radio world.
• 36:53
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and it's too, it's too completely different realms of how to compare.
• 36:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: that to that.
• 37:00
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not saying either one's better than the other.
• 37:02
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, you know, it's just two different astronomical levels.
• 37:07
[SPEAKER_01]: With more, I mean, he's just, he's already proven his stuff in the, and you know, and that's again why he's putting a lot of songs out on a full length record is so he can have so many graphics and he can tease it forever.
• 37:18
[SPEAKER_01]: He could tease it for a year and a half we wanted to with that many songs.
• 37:23
[SPEAKER_01]: And on his low, he's already got, he's already got the fans there too.
• 37:27
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, his fans are, you know, he's already built in.
• 37:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Anytime he drops something, he's going to go, you know, crazy about it anyway.
• 37:33
[SPEAKER_01]: As we're a little man, Jay, he's built it on his own and he's done a good job, man.
• 37:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm proud of what he's done.
• 37:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: He's got a really cool model.
• 37:40
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, when it comes to independent music and music and that way, because so many people can make it.
• 37:46
[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's kind of cheesy, but there's no wrong way to eat or eat, see someone that's making music and trying to put it out.
• 37:51
[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many different ways to put out music right now.
• 37:53
  [SPEAKER_01]: And I just don't think there's a wrong way.
• 37:56
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just because everybody's got their niche of how they want to do it.
• 38:00
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's got their different fans.
• 38:01
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, some people go big on YouTube.
• 38:03
[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, rather than if you're Instagram and stuff like that and a YouTube's a big big tool that you know, I think a lot of people probably don't take it as much advantage of as they should.
• 38:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I try, I'm trying to move a lot of stuff over to YouTube because that's just a whole one of the universe that we know if you tap into.
• 38:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Uh uh
• 38:19
  [SPEAKER_01]: I think I lost them.
• 38:20
  [SPEAKER_04]: No, you're good, you're fine.
• 38:23
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm just paying attention.
• 38:25
[SPEAKER_04]: I, because for me, I'm looking at these numbers in the background here and, you know, I'll use the little man, Jay is an example.
• 38:33
[SPEAKER_04]: Do you get paid for these streams on YouTube, the same way as the Spotify pays and all that other stuff and then is it just to direct a deposit and you're account at the end of the month?
• 38:43
[SPEAKER_04]: Because that's how book sales work for
• 38:47
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, these right here, so YouTube is brought up all that stuff.
• 38:49
[SPEAKER_01]: It goes through the whole system.
• 38:50
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where you have your writers, your numbers, some of that BMI, or either CSAC, or your affiliates, stuff like that.
• 38:55
[SPEAKER_01]: They're the ones to track that.
• 38:57
[SPEAKER_01]: And every time it's played, or any time it's sold, they had that number, because that's whenever you get your songs mastered, you get the code, and they put it in there, and so that's songs.
• 39:06
[SPEAKER_01]: And what's just in the system?
• 39:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Any time that song is played, stream, whatever.
• 39:11
[SPEAKER_01]: On YouTube, yes, it pays.
• 39:17
[SPEAKER_01]: Instagram if Facebook like those videos they as those don't pay those aren't I mean that they might they might monetize like on the actual platform with Facebook and TikTok But they're not going to stream, you know like that like that now now Now if someone on YouTube streams your song on YouTube music or if they stream your video that pays I mean that that's like you know 10 cents on 10 cents a stream or something like that As where you know a stream on Spotify's like point of three five or something
• 39:45
  [SPEAKER_04]: It's a crazy drop off, isn't it?
• 39:48
[SPEAKER_01]: It really is crazy, but YouTube actually pays pretty good.
• 39:51
[SPEAKER_01]: I found out I titled that that's another streaming service.
• 39:54
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like they paid for when I told they paid like, you know, actually like 10 like, you know, even more than what the regular streaming service is more than the Apple and all that stuff as well.
• 40:04
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, your main, your main guys are Spotify and Apple, that's what you can go after whenever you're good for me.
• 40:10
[SPEAKER_01]: I've had success on both, and it's just really, it's always an interesting story for me.
• 40:14
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, you know, sometimes Apple jumps all over something and it's Spotify doesn't, by its first.
• 40:19
[SPEAKER_01]: So like, these songs I put out this past, put on NASCAR fast, early this year, Apple music jump right all over it.
• 40:24
[SPEAKER_01]: We got a new country playlist, a degraded Apple Spotify, you know, like some smaller playlists that did okay.
• 40:31
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's still, but it's still going, it still has life.
• 40:33
[SPEAKER_01]: building but then we could put out love right and so it did really good on Spotify and got a couple different, they played a Spotify and not so much on Apple.
• 40:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, it's still building on Apple but Spotify's where it really comes to go off and so the song we put out just today, that I had to dance is actually doing it and jumped on I think it's new in country on Apple Playlist right now and so we got that and the thing we got Amazon
• 40:58
[SPEAKER_01]: I was on music and then we got, but it's about five, I'm not sure, we'll wait to see throughout the day and see how it does.
• 41:04
[SPEAKER_01]: But again, I think a lot comes to those pre-sapes.
• 41:06
[SPEAKER_01]: If I were to get like a whole watch of people to pre-save a song for a minute of drops, which is over, all those hits, the album will kick you in a day.
• 41:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, hey, which probably try this out a few other playlists.
• 41:19
[SPEAKER_01]: But still in the day, I still think there's somebody back there pushing the button.
• 41:22
  [SPEAKER_01]: There is.
• 41:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's somebody about there.
• 41:24
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody has to put a chef.
• 41:25
[SPEAKER_01]: But you saw a talk algorithm this year.
• 41:27
[SPEAKER_01]: But, and that's been my goal to find out who pushed the button.
• 41:29
[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm getting closer with Apple Music, but Spotify is a whole different, whole different category.
• 41:34
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, luckily, we have a video deal with Spotify.
• 41:38
[SPEAKER_04]: And look, look, the great news about it is, they monetize the artists.
• 41:44
[SPEAKER_04]: So, if you play on the show, it'll go towards your stream numbers and all that other stuff, and it's awesome.
• 41:50
[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, so, and you're correct.
• 41:53
[SPEAKER_04]: Like, we've got our own rep and all that other stuff, and we sold the company to them.
• 41:58
[SPEAKER_04]: Luckily, it's not exclusive, because Apple is also going to do video here coming up in the fall.
• 42:03
[SPEAKER_04]: Also, as far as iTunes is concerned, but the way they treat their artists and the way they're treating this new environment is, hey, we're not doing the copyright shit that YouTube is doing, where let's say you played this song for me today on YouTube, which it will be up on YouTube.
• 42:19
[SPEAKER_04]: It'll ding it, and it'll say, hey, the money's going to this artist, which is fine.
• 42:23
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care about that, but they don't pay podcasters in particular, you know, ones with conservative views very well at all, whereas with Spotify, there is no rules.
• 42:34
[SPEAKER_04]: They're like, hey, you guys are great.
• 42:36
[SPEAKER_04]: Your numbers are insane, and I haven't had one complaints, one take down, one anything, out of Spotify, where they're like, just keep doing what you're doing, which is awesome.
• 42:47
  [SPEAKER_04]: Where's YouTube?
• 42:48
  [SPEAKER_04]: Jesus Christ, man.
• 42:49
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we're dinged every two days on YouTube for That makes sense.
• 42:53
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because I did I did something I didn't know the podcast the other week and they and they had they had to do a couple two different versions or one of the songs I had to sing They had to make sure it was like on a sanction or something like now you're good.
• 43:04
[SPEAKER_04]: I know I'm not making any money off of YouTube I don't really give it
• 43:09
[SPEAKER_04]: So if you wouldn't mind, you got a new song out today that's available on all platforms, iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, your dad's house, anywhere that you can get your music.
• 43:22
[SPEAKER_04]: Tell everybody the name of this song and if you wouldn't mind playing for us today, it'd be great.
• 43:27
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man my new song dying to dance is outright now anywhere you can find it.
• 43:33
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a fun Get you at your seat move is so and it's exactly what it is So you know my brother don't dance, but I do so here's a song called down to dance
• 43:51
[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't go as far as saying that I got moves But I can handle keeping up with the beat I can not move on, my projection's shame And I can manage not to stick on your feet You see the kids got in the rhythm in them Spend your spendin' Biggin' on the snow and I'min' on the keep So if I say it thought Shit's full beer to the DJ runs on our heels Happy to dance with you Happy to dance with you Nobody is with you
• 44:20
[SPEAKER_00]: And this love, oh, I'm gonna dance with you I'm gonna dance with you Is it too soon to say I'm in love, oh, I'm gonna dance with you I'm gonna dance with you I'm gonna dance with you I'm gonna dance with you I'm gonna dance with you
• 44:40
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be, I want to spend you like a record For the record I wish we could dance with a boat or a wreck And if tonight's all we got, take whatever, take whatever Oh, you gotta do it slowly, my lead, I'm dying to dance with I'm dying to dance with you
• 44:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody else will do If this will all all I've done two days with you I've done two days with you There's yet to soon to say I'll eat all all all I've done a day with you Time dance, time to dance with you Time dance, time to dance with you
• 45:36
[SPEAKER_00]: about it, you're about it, that sounds like so.
• 45:44
[SPEAKER_00]: All day, my body, you're about it, you're on me.
• 45:53
[SPEAKER_00]: You got me, I'm done to face with you.
• 45:57
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm done to dance with you.
• 46:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody else will do it.
• 46:03
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
• 46:26
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm dying to dance with you I'm dancing, dancing, dancing, dancing I'm dancing, dancing, dancing I'm dancing, dancing There we go Oh baby, this year I go
• 46:38
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, damn to round of applause, my God.
• 46:43
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's incredible, man.
• 46:45
[SPEAKER_04]: You've got one of those voices that is more powerful than actually on iTunes or Spotify or anything else.
• 46:54
[SPEAKER_04]: I felt the same way when I saw Chris Stapled in concert.
• 46:58
[SPEAKER_04]: He's got to stand way back from the microphone.
• 47:00
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you've seen him in concert or open up form or something like that.
• 47:04
[SPEAKER_04]: His voice is so strong that it's, and it's so crisp and precise, same as yours, that it's like, hey dude, you gotta stand two feet back from the mic to do it.
• 47:16
[SPEAKER_04]: That is fucking fantastic, man.
• 47:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for that appreciate it man.
• 47:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love that compliment.
• 47:22
[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's a huge compliment to me so thank you very much.
• 47:26
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got I got a kind of louder voice sometimes I think I got I think I same to you hard so that's on the way I know how to say things.
• 47:32
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't mind it man like these powerful voices and I've seen it over the years a lot.
• 47:37
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll tell you the ones who sang out of the building and I don't know if you you know
• 47:41
[SPEAKER_04]: If I made up that phrase or you know what it is, but it felt like the building couldn't hold their voices.
• 47:48
[SPEAKER_04]: And it's rare, because Stapleton was one of them, Adele was definitely one of them.
• 47:53
[SPEAKER_04]: It took my wife to see her at Madison Square Garden for our anniversary.
• 47:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: I bet that was a man.
• 47:58
[SPEAKER_01]: I would, my brother in his wife, I thought, wouldn't did that one time.
• 48:01
  [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah.
• 48:02
  [SPEAKER_01]: And I see it.
• 48:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
• 48:04
[SPEAKER_04]: She asked, and I was like, all right, cool, this is maybe five or six years ago, and she jumps up.
• 48:10
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's one of those, you know, pop up out of the stage things, and she starts singing, hello?
• 48:15
[SPEAKER_04]: And I mean, just cheers.
• 48:18
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, tears.
• 48:19
[SPEAKER_04]: Out of everybody in the crowd, including myself, I'm trying to like hide myself, she'd shield myself, and I'm like, holy shit.
• 48:26
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's two things I'm a fan of.
• 48:27
[SPEAKER_01]: It was a big voice and a lead,
• 48:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a fan of a big singer.
• 48:35
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got one for you that might be a shocker.
• 48:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: Kelly Clarkston.
• 48:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, no.
• 48:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: She sings amazing.
• 48:41
[SPEAKER_01]: I got one for you.
• 48:42
[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite voices in music.
• 48:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: Randy Houser.
• 48:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Randy Houser.
• 48:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 48:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 48:47
  [SPEAKER_01]: Shit.
• 48:47
[SPEAKER_01]: So I've never seen Randy Houser live.
• 48:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, live will blow your socks off and out of your boots.
• 48:54
  [SPEAKER_04]: really, okay.
• 48:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
• 48:56
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll write that down for my list.
• 48:59
[SPEAKER_01]: I've heard a lot of singers, man.
• 49:00
[SPEAKER_01]: It rained a house or do when he gets that that big old Mississippi thing going through.
• 49:05
[SPEAKER_01]: He'll throw it out there.
• 49:07
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was it's promoting a movie and they'll kind of shut you around like all the big events to do
• 49:13
  [SPEAKER_04]: all that other stuff.
• 49:13
[SPEAKER_04]: So I was at the very first American Idol finals.
• 49:18
[SPEAKER_04]: So it was her against that Justin Guarini guy and she won and then sang a moment like this and the voice was so loud that it was out of the building and I was like oh my god this woman is incredible and it was one of those moments that you'll never forget where you're just like holy shit.
• 49:37
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think she gets enough credit.
• 49:39
[SPEAKER_04]: Jennifer Hudson's obviously on that list.
• 49:41
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I've been carrying underwood and should be on that list.
• 49:44
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think I've ever seen carry underwood live of you.
• 49:47
[SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen a live, but I feel like that her voice would be that strong and kind of powerful.
• 49:53
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I've done a shade from Dan and Shay, Shay can sing and credible.
• 49:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: He's an amazing singer.
• 50:00
  [SPEAKER_01]: Who else?
• 50:02
[SPEAKER_04]: I'll take the silent ones that I was like, man, whoever's working their levels has got to jack that up to the roof.
• 50:11
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can see that.
• 50:12
[SPEAKER_04]: She's very quiet and you've got to really listen and they've got to turn up the vocals.
• 50:18
[SPEAKER_04]: Cause it just hurt and get taller on stage.
• 50:20
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
• 50:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: Pretty much.
• 50:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 50:22
[SPEAKER_01]: But me, her songs speak volumes.
• 50:25
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love the case.
• 50:26
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love her.
• 50:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love her.
• 50:28
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love her.
• 50:28
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love her.
• 50:29
[SPEAKER_01]: I actually am a big fan of her new stuff that she put out with the, uh, dress bill.
• 50:33
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh gosh.
• 50:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
• 50:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
• 50:36
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a huge music fan, because the other one is Ryan Bingham right now.
• 50:41
[SPEAKER_04]: I love his new album, and he's fantastic.
• 50:44
[SPEAKER_04]: I got to see him live as well, and he's awesome, but yeah, man, I appreciate being here today.
• 50:51
[SPEAKER_04]: I know you're getting shut up around a bunch of different shows and everything else and promote in the song.
• 50:56
  [SPEAKER_04]: Now's the point.
• 50:57
[SPEAKER_04]: The show we get is the thing called the drinking bro of the week, which is someone who has inspired you or helps you become the person you are today, who would you like to give the drink a bro the week to?
• 51:05
[SPEAKER_01]: Drinking bro of the week to be who I want to be rocket man.
• 51:10
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's two people one.
• 51:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I look at my brother whole bunch and we get to hang out and we get to hang out.
• 51:15
[SPEAKER_01]: But he's one of the guys I look up to.
• 51:16
[SPEAKER_01]: But also the reason why I'm doing this music I feel like is the band called Fuel.
• 51:21
[SPEAKER_01]: When I saw them the one at the first time at theplex and I saw them performed way they did as some of their song about some of theirs I love called Hembridge.
• 51:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: And I
• 51:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it was absolutely amazing and they, when I saw that, I was like, hey, that's when I suppose to do for the rest of my life and packed them up back pretty much the next day and I moved to Nashville and I had to turn back since.
• 51:38
[SPEAKER_01]: So, a few, the man, a few and my brother.
• 51:42
  [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome man.
• 51:42
[SPEAKER_04]: And then last question here before you get out of here.
• 51:45
[SPEAKER_04]: Who is a country guy that you looked up to growing up?
• 51:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, that's a lot of them too.
• 51:51
[SPEAKER_01]: Garth Brooks had to be my number one guy, honestly, just because I mean, he was the first one.
• 51:55
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was, that's when I came growing, I was growing up in the country because he came out and he was just like, blew the socks off everybody for me and my word.
• 52:01
[SPEAKER_01]: Now I love Travis Triatt, but probably Garth Brooks.
• 52:05
[SPEAKER_04]: I love Travis Tritt too.
• 52:06
[SPEAKER_04]: Saul Garth and Concierty flew over my head as a kid and genuine tears.
• 52:11
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you remember who's flying around the arena's and shit and that was my era.
• 52:15
[SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, there's no way.
• 52:17
[SPEAKER_04]: He's about to shoot a live show right now in Indianapolis.
• 52:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that would be awesome.
• 52:21
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to talk about a few of his shows.
• 52:23
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm dead and he's just a genuine, awesome net man, so.
• 52:26
  [SPEAKER_04]: Did he cry?
• 52:27
[SPEAKER_01]: Did he cry when you met him?
• 52:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 52:28
[SPEAKER_01]: Now at first on bed, he was just coming back, and he was coming up for more than a member going to step in the ward for that, and he was sucking his gut his head, sucking my gut in, and a lot of time, and he was very nice, he was really nice to meet him.
• 52:44
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's awesome.
• 52:44
[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate you being here today, best of luck with the song, Bryce again, once again, tell everybody where it's at.
• 52:51
[SPEAKER_01]: Go to loosbrice.com, L-E-W-I-S-B-R-I-C-E will take you to all of my music platforms, take it to all my pages, and I mean, my song Dined Adance is out right now on all music platforms, Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Pandora, Title, anywhere you can get music, go check it out Dined Adance.
• 53:09
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't see your dance moves.
• 53:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Makes a video as soon.
• 53:10
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's support, Lewis.
• 53:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: Brice.
• 53:13
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for being here and served.
• 53:14
  [SPEAKER_04]: Good luck today.
• 53:15
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, good luck, Bob Hague.
• 53:16
[SPEAKER_04]: Very nice talk to you and good hanging out.
• 53:18
[SPEAKER_04]: You as well, take care, sir.
• 53:20
[SPEAKER_04]: That was Lewis Bryce Dianne dance with you downloaded.
• 53:25
[SPEAKER_04]: Now, man, that guy's good.
• 53:28
[SPEAKER_04]: Blue, this is one of those shows where you're trying to help out your friends and listeners of the show and all that other stuff and he'd hit us up and said, hey, I got some new music coming out, and I'd love to be on the show and let's look.
• 53:43
[SPEAKER_04]: You can come on, but you've got to sing live, brother.
• 53:46
[SPEAKER_04]: You've got to sing live.
• 53:47
[SPEAKER_04]: The people who sing live on this show always do the best, Dallas, Alexander, little man, Jay, shit, Danny, wore a snap.
• 53:56
[SPEAKER_04]: All these other guys, whoever's not afraid to pick up a guitar and sing live, you know they're legit.
• 54:02
[SPEAKER_04]: And that's why I always lead off with kind of these AI questions these days where I think a lot of people are leaning on it,
• 54:10
[SPEAKER_04]: Less of a tool and is a crutch, and then if somebody ends up singing live and just pulls out the guitar, then you know the shit is real, and you feel better about supporting these guys out into the world, and yeah man, anybody who's just a real fucking musician can pick up and play wherever it is.
• 54:31
[SPEAKER_04]: And years and years and years ago, I had heard about writers
• 54:37
[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, I got writers blocking can't do this, or I got to be in the right moment, or the right feeling, or whatever it is.
• 54:44
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he was shit going to a studio to write again today, and I thought it was bullshit.
• 54:49
[SPEAKER_04]: I never really understood it, and it didn't, it's never happened to me.
• 54:53
[SPEAKER_04]: So I tried to figure out the answer of what writer's block was.
• 54:59
[SPEAKER_04]: And I told the story, I'm not sure if it was on this show or Ross Patterson Revolution, but I watched a dock with low weight.
• 55:07
[SPEAKER_04]: It sounds bizarre, but it was in like 2008.
• 55:11
[SPEAKER_04]: And he took it down.
• 55:12
[SPEAKER_04]: He ended up suing this company.
• 55:14
[SPEAKER_04]: He said he wasn't happy with the way he's portrayed.
• 55:17
  [SPEAKER_04]: In my opinion,
• 55:18
[SPEAKER_04]: He was portrayed exactly how he was doing at that time.
• 55:22
[SPEAKER_04]: He was just crushing bottles of syrup over and over and over again and then wrapping.
• 55:29
[SPEAKER_04]: So there was a scene where he was in Germany and the song was a swagger like us.
• 55:34
  [SPEAKER_04]: You remember that song?
• 55:35
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
• 55:35
  [SPEAKER_04]: Massive.
• 55:36
  [SPEAKER_04]: Massive fucking song.
• 55:38
  [SPEAKER_04]: And they go up.
• 55:38
[SPEAKER_04]: The publicist is knocking on the door.
• 55:40
  [SPEAKER_04]: He's in Germany.
• 55:41
[SPEAKER_04]: It's like two o'clock in the afternoon and this sweets in Germany was
• 55:48
[SPEAKER_04]: It looked like a fucking party room.
• 55:50
[SPEAKER_04]: It looked like a fucking music studio, even though it was a hotel suite.
• 55:54
[SPEAKER_04]: And he had a towel over his head and the microphone.
• 55:57
[SPEAKER_04]: So I guess the voice wouldn't boom similar to podcasts or anything else.
• 56:01
[SPEAKER_04]: He had the same exact mic as we did.
• 56:03
[SPEAKER_04]: And he was recording his verse for that.
• 56:05
[SPEAKER_04]: And it was word for word.
• 56:08
[SPEAKER_04]: what happened in the actual song, he turned it in, and she was like, oh my god, I'm sorry to interrupt you.
• 56:14
  [SPEAKER_04]: It's two o'clock in the afternoon.
• 56:15
  [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't even be recording.
• 56:17
[SPEAKER_04]: And somebody, I forget on the documentary side, like the guy behind the camera said, why are you doing this?
• 56:23
[SPEAKER_04]: Like why are you doing this at two o'clock in the afternoon versus late at night when you usually record?
• 56:27
[SPEAKER_04]: And he was like, look, I can record at any second of the day.
• 56:31
[SPEAKER_04]: I truly believe that I'm the greatest of all times.
• 56:33
[SPEAKER_04]: So if you are the greatest, at whatever you do in this life,
• 56:37
[SPEAKER_04]: Why wouldn't you be able to do it any second of the day?
• 56:40
[SPEAKER_04]: And it literally just changed my mind of writers blocking all that other bullshit because, yeah, he was right.
• 56:46
[SPEAKER_04]: If you think that you are the greatest at your craft, and I don't care what it is.
• 56:50
[SPEAKER_04]: If it's music, writing, fucking,
• 56:54
[SPEAKER_04]: you know, working on furniture for Christ's sakes, you should be able to come up with a new design, a new thing, and just constantly fucking work.
• 57:04
[SPEAKER_04]: This other bullshit of writers block and everything else is simply an excuse in my opinion because you don't want to fucking work that day.
• 57:13
[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't care if it's creative, like, I think creativity can be harness.
• 57:18
[SPEAKER_04]: And if you have the true talent, obviously like that guy did,
• 57:21
[SPEAKER_04]: able to pull out a fucking guitar and just do it too.
• 57:24
[SPEAKER_04]: And I love shit like that.
• 57:26
[SPEAKER_04]: This was super last minute today.
• 57:28
[SPEAKER_04]: Wanted to get him on the show.
• 57:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Wanted to have him play live and and play his new song.
• 57:33
[SPEAKER_04]: But we are fans and we're trying to help artists break out.
• 57:40
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, we got the, I mentioned the little man Jay thing earlier, like we got a little man Jay on the show and then after that, we played that clip, that clip got 900,000 views on our Instagram and TikTok combined and it then only helps the artists, but it helps us as well because at the end of the day, I personally love music.
• 58:01
[SPEAKER_04]: I'd love to have more musicians on the show.
• 58:04
[SPEAKER_04]: I'd love to have more live musicians on the show.
• 58:06
[SPEAKER_04]: who actually play and something that we've toyed with in developing this app, which is going on in the background right now.
• 58:13
[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe having a concert series once a month, where an artist comes in and they just play.
• 58:20
[SPEAKER_04]: that way you can hear how they sound live and if they live up to the hype, they live up to the hype.
• 58:26
  [SPEAKER_04]: If they don't, then they don't.
• 58:29
[SPEAKER_04]: I've been in some great situations where artists are great, like a low-manj or Dallas Alexander or Bryce Lewis and then not so great.
• 58:36
[SPEAKER_04]: I took my kid to the home run derby a couple years ago and I don't know if you remember this Luke, but it was the worst national anthem ever sung.
• 58:44
  [SPEAKER_04]: I have seen this.
• 58:46
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, of course.
• 58:50
[SPEAKER_04]: Was my fucking mother fuck no, no, I was not like I am with my kid, you know, we got our hats off and we're singing the national anthem and my child turns me maybe 20 seconds and he just whispers he goes, dad, this is bound as I think it is and I go, it's worse, this is worse and then as it kept going Luke, I'm not kidding, you can hear people laughing in the stadium.
• 59:16
[SPEAKER_04]: and yikes you could see they were painted of the players on the field and uh... holy shit do they were they were using their hats to cover up their faces and laughing and all that other shits and this check whoever it was and it released in a statement saying she was drunk or something like that and going to rehab and
• 59:35
[SPEAKER_04]: and trying to figure out her life.
• 59:37
[SPEAKER_04]: Problem was, she was a relatively young artist in new.
• 59:41
[SPEAKER_04]: You cannot fuck up that bad on the live stage, but my personal opinion of it was, I think,
• 59:50
[SPEAKER_04]: She probably really couldn't sing without the auditsum.
• 59:53
[SPEAKER_04]: And when you're doing the National Anthem, obviously you don't have that.
• 59:58
[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of artists out there, we had without the auditsum, without the fucking synos of the world, without the AI, without all the other shits, aren't really that good.
• 1:00:10
[SPEAKER_04]: But the ones who can sing live, I think can have an endless career.
• 1:00:14
[SPEAKER_04]: Bandahorses was here last night.
• 1:00:16
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you know that, Wilmington.
• 1:00:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, no, I haven't heard of that much.
• 1:00:21
  [SPEAKER_04]: They're great.
• 1:00:21
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, they're big as song was this song called The Funeral.
• 1:00:24
  [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, shit, man.
• 1:00:26
  [SPEAKER_04]: Um, they had...
• 1:00:29
[SPEAKER_04]: Let's call it six to seven massive hits, maybe 20 years back, 15 years back somewhere in that neighborhood.
• 1:00:36
[SPEAKER_04]: I'd watched a documentary with a guy and sort of the same thing, he said, look, man, I'm having problems with writing and, you know, the creativity is not there and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, but because he's such a great live singer and the band is so great live.
• 1:00:52
[SPEAKER_04]: They still tour, they still sell out.
• 1:00:54
[SPEAKER_04]: And even at this tiny place in Wilmington, tickets were 200 bucks a piece last night, just to see this band.
• 1:01:01
[SPEAKER_04]: And my wife, you know, Jesse looks, I mean, she goes, I'd show up just to see them play the song in the funeral.
• 1:01:07
[SPEAKER_04]: And I go, I know, I've seen them live maybe two or three times over the years and they're fantastic, but I've always wondered, man, what happens to these fucking artists after like the first one or two albums and then they just can't do it anymore?
• 1:01:20
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's got to be just like losing, I mean, they just lose that inspiration maybe.
• 1:01:25
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, maybe once they're not like a normal person anymore, that kind of like messes with their heads.
• 1:01:30
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's what I think.
• 1:01:31
  [SPEAKER_04]: That's what I think.
• 1:01:31
[SPEAKER_04]: I watched that Lewis Capaldi doc the other night and I was like, oh shit, you just have, in my opinion, he's fantastic, but like,
• 1:01:39
[SPEAKER_04]: He just had the wrong people around him.
• 1:01:41
[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't have, yes, many had no men.
• 1:01:43
[SPEAKER_04]: And they kept telling him his new songs were shit.
• 1:01:45
  [SPEAKER_04]: And they were fantastic.
• 1:01:46
[SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, God damn, and they kind of steered him into this different direction.
• 1:01:50
[SPEAKER_04]: I think others, to your point, they get so big and rich that it just doesn't matter anymore.
• 1:01:55
[SPEAKER_04]: And they don't have that same hunger and fire, where this guy clearly still does.
• 1:02:00
[SPEAKER_04]: But a lot of them don't, man.
• 1:02:02
[SPEAKER_04]: You just get so big and so rich.
• 1:02:05
[SPEAKER_04]: And you're just like, all right, fuck it.
• 1:02:06
[SPEAKER_04]: I can just either kind of phone it in.
• 1:02:09
  [SPEAKER_04]: and you can't anymore.
• 1:02:11
[SPEAKER_04]: And that's why I enjoy watching all of these documentaries on musicians and reading the books and all that of shit because something like the Rolling Stones is very, very rare.
• 1:02:21
[SPEAKER_04]: They're new album just drops and it's incredible.
• 1:02:24
[SPEAKER_04]: And these guys are in their fucking 80s for Christ's 6.
• 1:02:28
[SPEAKER_04]: But it's lights out and if you think it's not them, no, it is.
• 1:02:31
[SPEAKER_04]: Mick Jagger just showed up at a club the night of the album release and played acoustic songs for a fucking hour with Ronnie Wood.
• 1:02:40
[SPEAKER_04]: it was unbelievable and you got to see it and you were just like, dude, you're 80 fucking three years old man and you're just showing up at a tiny town and London you're able to fucking pump this out.
• 1:02:50
[SPEAKER_04]: It's it's unbelievably impressive to see and I'm always enamored with musicians because that writing process is so much different than books or movie scripts or TV shows or or anything else like you got about a three minute window.
• 1:03:04
  [SPEAKER_04]: to get everything perfect.
• 1:03:06
[SPEAKER_04]: And if it's not, song sucks, your career could be over, all their other shit.
• 1:03:11
[SPEAKER_04]: Another band that was a big fan of on the come-up was M82.
• 1:03:16
  [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
• 1:03:17
  [SPEAKER_04]: They've done every, I feel like,
• 1:03:19
[SPEAKER_04]: You've heard probably four or five of their songs in every huge Oscar movie or commercial or whatever.
• 1:03:27
[SPEAKER_04]: I tried to use them for one of my movies and it was $100,000.
• 1:03:29
  [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
• 1:03:31
  [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
• 1:03:31
[SPEAKER_04]: And by the way, that's so much like a stone song cost.
• 1:03:34
[SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, god damn.
• 1:03:35
[SPEAKER_04]: And I go, man, just had a curiosity.
• 1:03:37
[SPEAKER_04]: Why is this song called the Altro?
• 1:03:39
[SPEAKER_04]: And when you hear it, you'll, everybody would humble notes.
• 1:03:42
[SPEAKER_04]: And you're like, oh fuck, I know it from this movie or commercial or.
• 1:03:45
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, Matthew McConaughey dying in a movie or whatever the fuck it is.
• 1:03:49
[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, why is this price so high?
• 1:03:51
[SPEAKER_04]: Why is this as much as a Rolling Stone song?
• 1:03:55
[SPEAKER_04]: Because I worked on this film called The Miracle.
• 1:03:59
[SPEAKER_04]: It was about The Miracle and I used with Kurt Russell, and I was helping out with edits and shit like that.
• 1:04:03
[SPEAKER_04]: And I went in for edits of the film, and then I went in for edits of the trailer.
• 1:04:07
[SPEAKER_04]: And they showed me two different versions of the trailer, and the song was Dream On by Erosmith.
• 1:04:12
  [SPEAKER_04]: Hell yeah.
• 1:04:13
  [SPEAKER_04]: I know.
• 1:04:14
  [SPEAKER_04]: Versus something else.
• 1:04:16
[SPEAKER_04]: And they go, which version of this trailer is the better, I'm like,
• 1:04:19
  [SPEAKER_04]: Dream on.
• 1:04:20
[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's this fits the fucking movie.
• 1:04:22
[SPEAKER_04]: This is an iconic song and everything else.
• 1:04:24
[SPEAKER_04]: And they're like $100,000 for the trailer.
• 1:04:27
[SPEAKER_04]: And I go, I know, but this trailer is going to go out everywhere.
• 1:04:30
[SPEAKER_04]: Like you got to pay the fucking money.
• 1:04:33
[SPEAKER_04]: And you're Disney for Christ's sakes, like pony up for it.
• 1:04:35
[SPEAKER_04]: I think they were a little bit overbudget on the movie already.
• 1:04:37
[SPEAKER_04]: And they were worried about the returns.
• 1:04:39
[SPEAKER_04]: I already knew the movie was great from sitting in the edits.
• 1:04:42
[SPEAKER_04]: And then I can man just spend that fucking money ultimately, it's not my decision.
• 1:04:46
[SPEAKER_04]: And they ended up doing it.
• 1:04:49
  [SPEAKER_04]: did incredible.
• 1:04:51
[SPEAKER_04]: With M83 it was a different story where they're not as famous as Eros Smith.
• 1:04:55
[SPEAKER_04]: So what happened was they kept taking this one song and putting it in a shit ton of movies and TV shows and commercials.
• 1:05:02
[SPEAKER_04]: And finally the I think was the lead singer which was just like I do it.
• 1:05:06
[SPEAKER_04]: We're getting over saturated with this one goddamn song.
• 1:05:09
[SPEAKER_04]: We added, I don't know if we could live up to this.
• 1:05:11
[SPEAKER_04]: And so the label was like, all right, well, how about we just put it at a hundred K?
• 1:05:16
[SPEAKER_04]: That way, look, if somebody's gonna pay for it, at least it's a hundred K in your pocket, it usually just like, yeah, let's do that.
• 1:05:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Which is always wild to me.
• 1:05:24
[SPEAKER_03]: If it's gonna get over saturated, I'm gonna have to make bank off of it, you know?
• 1:05:29
  [SPEAKER_04]: it's exactly what happened.
• 1:05:30
  [SPEAKER_04]: But it's weird, man.
• 1:05:31
  [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I don't think they've had a good album me personally and like, I don't know, 10, 12 years.
• 1:05:36
[SPEAKER_04]: But I still hear their music in every movie.
• 1:05:39
[SPEAKER_04]: There is in TV shows and shit.
• 1:05:41
  [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, it's a wild thing.
• 1:05:43
[SPEAKER_04]: And if you're out there and you're wondering why I was talking about music, it's because I love it.
• 1:05:48
[SPEAKER_04]: I grew up with it.
• 1:05:50
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, right to it and uh, you know, driving into work, working out, all those shit, I'm sure the same way as you guys at home and I just want more of it.
• 1:05:59
