- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Time for the 49ers Rush Podcast.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: and here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, Faithful?
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: It is great to be with you guys today.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: It is Monday, August 10th, 49ers just wrapped up their very first installment of the next week of practices.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: And this kind of,
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Almost brings the conclusion to training camp this week because, man, Thursday, you have, you know, your very first preseason game gets the Titans.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: Tomorrow, you're very first joint practice.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: So like the transition from training camp into preseason, which is a little bit of a weird demarcation in today's NFL because of the joint practices and how valuable those are to the 49ers.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: They value those way more than they do the actual games themselves.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: But a lot of different things to take away today.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: You heard from Kubiak, you got to hear from Dominik Pune, at the podium, Marquis Siegel, at the podium.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of very, very good conversations.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: Add questions and just some more insight.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: We've got entry updates.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: We've got new roster moves as they shake the back end of the roster and the offensive line.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: Um, lots of different things to get to and as always, we're going to be here with the live chat, appreciate all the hashtag CCs, monkey in first today, what's up, Stephen, he's in second.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Love all the countdown crew.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are the best.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: So any questions that you guys have, please let me know.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, as we dive into this conversation, shout out to Phillip, man.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: He is a legend.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: Great to see you in here, Phillip.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: And our executive producers have to say thank you to David Gil, Cory Robbins of 49ers stores 365, and they make every episode possible for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's up, Arizona chapter in the house, I love it.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see where the Niners improved, and if I'm going to be very honest.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: the injury front, I didn't really, there's no major, like, oh, no way.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Chris McCaffrey did not practice today.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now, whenever you see that, you have to take it with the grain of salt.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying he is injured.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying he's not.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: But if you go to the prior training camps, Christian McCaffer used to take every third day off.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Him and Trent Williams used to basically miss every third day of practice.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: That has not been the case this year.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: But when Kupiat got out there, it was basically leading the offense, definitely the team.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: I know forsters the head coach in charge of system head coach.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: But he said, you know, Christian McCaffrey always has his rep count and we're right on track.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Just managing as we go a little sore, but he is fine.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not overly concerned with the Christian McAfrey news of not practicing today.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: The biggest issue that I have with Christian McAfrey not practicing is that Kailun, Black's also not practicing, Jordan James is also not practicing, Isaac Garendo's not also not practicing.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: You're taught for running backs not can work.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's the biggest like man like like I get you're going to rest your workhorse 30-year-old running back Christian McCaffrey coming off a 2000 yard season.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's great But the opportunity to cost whenever injuries or rest days happen is somebody is getting that extra work in camp.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the case for the 49ers.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: The injuries at the running back position are just absolutely insane.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: And Kyle you check has a broken finger.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: So you're talking Patrick Taylor, Cleo Herberics, and Sarah McCormick, and the one thing that I can't say, the biggest positive.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: is that Debo Samuel is getting work in the running back room and Kubiak talked about that how they're going to move them all over and you know Debo was on within a failed network too briefly on an interview today after practice where he said, you know, they're they're using me everywhere.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Debo was returning punts for the first time this training camp.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: I want him involved in that race as well.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: Kick return obviously he's going to be
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: So just the, and I almost want Debo to be used as a running back more than I want them to be used as a wide receiver as that Z wide receiver personally.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: I want him to be used all over the place and I want 20 to 25 staffs of game not 40 to 45.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want Shanahan to over target him and force feed him and all those kinds of different things.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: But it is nice to hear that Debo is.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Getting work in the backfield, he is returning punts, kickoffs, all those different things.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's huge.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: And right here in Tories, yeah, no new injuries so far.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: So far reported.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Now, still no Nick Bosa, he's missed four days in a row with sordas.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Again, Nick Bosa way ahead of schedule.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: Can't I believe he wasn't on pub to start camp?
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: But four days in a row.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: a start that the alarm and a deathcon levels all that stuff whatever you got to have nick boasted a compete you have to when he plays the forty dollars are incredible when he's not out there forty hours defense you patched together some stuff
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: But without me kill Williams and some other guys out, you got to have both out there.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see what that still know, you know, Mike Evans, even though he's jogging routes and stuff on the side, Christian Kirk's still not back, but you did get one player back.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: A rookie, Carver Willis's back.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: And not only is Carver Willis back, he's getting his first snaps at left guard.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: with the second team, which is good for him.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's been getting right guard snaps with the third team.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's getting second team snaps.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think that is huge.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: You're kind of moving all that stuff around a Chris Forcer talked about, you know, Connor Colby, Robert Jones, Carver Willis, you're moving those guys around.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the guys that was heavily involved in those rotations was Nick Sequel.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: He has been for the past four seasons.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: He gets released.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers bringing an offensive line, Doug Cramer Jr. six rounder was drafted in the 2022 draft class by the bears in the six round.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's six, two, three, hundred, versatile guy.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's played 18 games but never started.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: 86 offensive snaps, 52 special team snaps.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say that I hope this is the end of Nick Sekel.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: But the writing was on the wall, like he just could not find a spot where he was useful.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: It is best trait was locker room guy, Brock Party's old roommate, could play multiple spots on the inside, could play any of them well.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: I remember being at training camp years ago when they first tried Met Center, he made it through a quarter of the practice and they fired him, go back to guard.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: But he's been terrible at guard and you can tell when Nick's the kill comes in.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: bad things are going to happen like the defensive linemen are licking their chops every time to go against them.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: And this is just part of that recycling in the back end of the depth chart that the 49ers do every single training camp around this time.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: Let's increase the 91 people that know our scheme to about 120 and just turn the back end of your roster and they do it at every single position so that there's a wider pool of guys to pull from during the season that know our playbook a little bit.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you catch fire somebody catches on
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just it it's a revolving on the back end.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: We know Nick Sekele's not gonna make this roster I Wouldn't be shocked if he gets brought back at some point as a practice squad guy because he can play so many spots Because everybody does like him in the building so much.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: I wish Nick Sekele would just become a coach They just can't hand loyalty program is undefeated and obviously Kyle Shanahan John Lynch loved this guy When they drafted him they said he's as close to a gold helmet as we can get
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: NFL playing career just has a pan-down, but he is smart as hell, you know sports science and media and all that stuff at Fordham It's very very smart to get this guy coaching or put him in the analytics department.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think he wrote his thesis on like Barry bonds is on base percentage or something, right?
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like they let's allow like I feel like the nicks to kill experiment has run it's course I don't like being a guy that
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: says like people's career should be over.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying dude, you might have a future elsewhere.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're obviously beloved.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: It just a play just hasn't been there for Nixie Kill.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of where it is.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Dan?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: So what's going on?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: Faithful.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: So glad to be here with you today.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I say.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: Dan, you are the freaking man.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Apple sauce.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: I got a lot of comments on this one at every time I cringe.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: Just a little bit hamstring a day is the 49ers way.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: No new hamstrings reported.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe the cringe phrase that we came up with a couple of shows ago was enough to do away with it.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: Perhaps we satisfied the hamstring gods, the soft tissue gods, and we are done with that.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: But you episodes last year are the freaking big.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys, everybody showed up in here.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and again, if you're looking for positives, no new reported injuries.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: No new reported injuries and again, this is coming off a day off after your hardest practice of the week.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: This is the time whenever you usually get that slew of, oh, this is when you first found out.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Evans was a practicing.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is when you first found out.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: Stribbling was in practicing all those times in the past training camp.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: So to make it through this giant hump of a day, ah, it's just like, okay, I know it's a Monday.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's like somebody's got a case of the Mondays.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: Hell, though.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm at just somebody get beat up, say something like that.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Jack?
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: Looking appreciate you, man.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: The only roster move I want, uh, John is Vivaia to the San Francisco 49.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've come out the bucks and said, we're not trading them.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: I would not trade them either.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like he is there.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: There are all season has just been so bad.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: And anytime you talk about trades,
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: you've got to talk about it from three vantage points.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: You got to look at from the forty-nine perspective.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: You got to look at it from the opposing team, the bucks, and the player V2 via, right?
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: V2 via wants to come to California.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's from right up the road.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, he's from Mill Peters.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: And he said he wants to go to a California team.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they're willing to give up the draft capital would take to get him.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's cost a second round and probably a sixth maybe maybe a little bit more second and a fifth, just based on precedent with what happened to the Leonard Williams trade, who was a year younger, but the bucks like you got to have three to Tango.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: You got two.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe two.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: You got one V to V. I would love to come here.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure the 49ers want to give up a lot more draft capital than they already have for defensive tackles.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm damn sure positive that the bucks are not open to losing another franchise key piece to the 49ers.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see it.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if I was the bucks that I was going to trade V2V, I'm trading them out of the conference.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Period.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely not to another pro, you know, play off.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: a contending team that just took Mike Evans and made us look bad and on top of that, you didn't get the Baker Mayfield extension done.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Levante David retired another stalwart like everybody's all the players and locker rooms upset you kept your coach Todd, but like dude, you can't take that many PR hits.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see it.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Maria.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well said right there.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, twenty twenty eight.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: So no, he's it's not a whole then he has three more years Under contract, but I get the joke.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: I do get the joke.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, it's it's not there.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: What's up Ben glad to see you here.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go old.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm part of that team for sure, man And I have no problem with CMC taking a day off.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm shocked it took this long to get there.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: What's up RTP my man my man?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Niners Rosser is more than more golden than ever.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's getting older.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's getting older.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: It is getting older.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's bad.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: Right here.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Debo can play change of pace running back.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: I like him getting the reps.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want him to be the number two running back.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want Dbo to be the third down running back all the time, like I'm cool with that.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I want more of the CMC Dbo backfield play.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: There were a couple of times in 2023 where you're in 2021 personnel, right?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Two backs, no tight ends or two backs, one tight end when George Kiddles out there.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: But you got Brock Perty and Shotgun.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: You got CMC to one side, D-Bode to the other side in the backfield.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: They flare out.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now, both flats have to be respected by the safeties and linebackers.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: The middle of the fields like the Red Sea.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's just wide open.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's just wide open.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now you have vertical threats on the outside.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: Good Lord, pick your poison.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: You don't take the flats.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's an automatic check down to a ball carrier in space.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: Leave the middle of the field, occupied George Kittles going to kill you.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: you're not playing, you know, shell coverage, you got to Sean Stribling or Mike Evans on the outside.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you just got a pig.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a domino.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a two-way to press situation that you got to run from a basketball concept.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's what I want.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like, stress the defense that way.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: get those two guys at the backfield same time i i'd love that i really really do a and whenever they did it back in twenty twenty three it was just so bad that it was awesome twenty twenty four they got away from it dbo wasn't dbo any longer uh... cbs wasn't playing you know you you didn't get it do it the dbo demands a trade forces himself off the team but now he's back
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: But now he's back and what are the things that I left a lot at this was on NFL network their interview a Debo Ian Rappaport and Debo kind of throw shade like there are certain You know news breakers in Rappaport.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely up there Like laughter goes It started laughing like man.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: How how'd you feel whatever this trade went down?
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: It goes You know you know Terry talking about his agent.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's like you know Terry
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like you know where you get your information from.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: I was fine.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like it was that big of a deal, but I thought it was funny I might have been the only person that thought it's funny because a lot of these incitors not saying that's Ian Might be saying it's easy and there's just mouthpieces for the agents to put information out there to break the news first I just would hate that life like
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Man, if somebody asks like, hey, chat, we're going to double your pay, but you have to be an NFL insider, I would flip you off.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would not even just reject the job.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: That just sounds like hell.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, one, agents are my least favorite people in the world.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that they serve a purpose, and their job is to take care of their players.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: But they're the worst humans I've ever dealt with.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: And sadly, I have to deal with them.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: Not all of them.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: Some agents are great.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I just do not want to live my life.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: trusting the words of agents and having to be their mouthpiece.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, that's a gross.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is disgusting.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: You want to take a shower.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I thought that was hilarious.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right here.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: Atomic.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: Love seeing the Tibo interview.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: Where in the nine arcures?
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: Great to have them back.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: Love the energy.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Looks the part.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: And like again, returning punts, getting work in the back field, lining up all over the place, that is huge.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: And again, you know, you go back to the quote from Kubiak at the presser today after practice quote, Debo is in great shape and can run all day.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: Our plan is to affect the game in a lot of ways with Debo in a multitude of spots.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: That is music to my ears.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: Do not just keep that dude as the Z.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Don't do that.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: Don't do that.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: Don't do that.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: one seven I like this little soft tip tissue injuries happen now before the start of the season get all the calluses in that's right get in there man uh... right here remember that time we came out of the half-routed jetties and took you had took the dbo handout yeah head off that i i forget what game i was at that game and i was like
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: Was that just a freaking hand off plate of Joanne Jennings?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't go well by the way.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: I want to jump both sweet back where you freaking do the jet sweeper with Kiddle.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Why not?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: Why not?
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: I would not be upset about that at all.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're just a football show here.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking football stuff.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, right here, both of won't be extended, John.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take that bet.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take that bet, Tommy, you're a friend.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the contract says he's going to be extended.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to happen.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I am not worried about both a long term.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: I was not expecting both of them to come off the pup until after the first or second preseason game.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that he got, you know, a week and a half of practice in way ahead of schedule way ahead of schedule.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Dale, you got to calm down with that stuff, man.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Keep doing your thing and appreciate your buddy.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we're not, both as like one of the most untradable players do it's 28.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Ain't going anywhere.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's signed for three seasons.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, ain't going nowhere.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: You might not like him.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that's okay.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying you got to like him.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: He ain't going nowhere.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me right here any observation on how Carver Willis looked at his first reps back.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: No I did not get any of those out there.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's reping with the twos at left guard.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: So that's new for him and You know again The kubiac presser yet like you look for keys that you're trying to kind of discern and like figure out like okay What can we derive from these comments?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: Kubiak was asked about the left guard spot.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, yeah, there's those two guys.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he said.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: Connor Colby and Robert Jones, Robert Jones been getting the ones.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: Connor got the ones there earlier, but he's like, we always knew they were going to battle.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's like left guard is an open spot between those two guys.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: Those two guys.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, Connor and RJ are going to be getting a lot of staffs well into the preseason games.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's a two worse race.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: I've been saying this for a long time.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people say in Brett Toth.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: I just didn't see.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think they want him to be the backup.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Center slash versatile piece plus the entry he missed times with.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's two guys.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis was never intended to be this backup.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: Just like in Riquecruis was never intended to be the backup left tackle.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: Not this season.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: Their project long-term plays that the Ford Air is finally invested some offensive line draft
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: but it's a long term, it's developed mental.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are not in competition for any of these starting roles or backup left-ack world.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: They're not.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we'll say my favorite blocking play this camp that I witnessed was Carver Willis blowing up Sebastian Valdes to destroy them.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: It might have been the play you got concussion, which I hope not, but I'm glad that he's back.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, very, very glad that he's back.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, New Jersey has been killing it on shut up, man.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, you guys are great.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: Um, right here Dale, appreciate you being it.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: John, tell me about the safety play.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's the part I really care about.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think the biggest weakness.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: roster offense defense is the safety spot.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: Marky Seekle got his first chance at the podium today, which I love.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: Give the sophomore sub, you know, confidence, try to build that up.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's huge.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the tidbits that I took away from his presser, talking about how Rahim Morris, you know, allowing us to play more aggressive.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Even more the next DB, every single defensive pack that gets to the podium says the same
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: We're not thinking we're going out there in plain.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: We're just trying to make plays and it was kind of funny because they asked him about last year and kind of how he took away last year and he said the same thing.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: We've been screaming since probably week two last year.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: Marky said quote, I was always in the right spot.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: Just had to start making the play in quote.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: His off season, what you can, that second off season.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: After you're rookie year, that is one of the most important offseason caution and talks about all the time.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're rookie year going through the draft process, the combine, you've got bowl games, whatever else.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: All this ever stuff, you don't really get an offseason getting ready for the NFL because you're working on 40s, combine interviews, pro days, flying all of the things, meetings, top golf, whatever, draft, all right cool contract stuff, like you don't get time
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: prepare yourself for football.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's like an elongated job interview over the course of three months.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: But after your rookie season, that is where offseason kicks in and players get to build themselves for the NFL and appropriate manner.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: Marky Seagull said he gained eight to ten pounds this offseason.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: because he felt like that was the best spot where he could keep his speed.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: So that was the amount of weight he could gain to keep his speed.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's a fourth or three guy.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like he could gain 25 pounds and still be faster than Jair Brown or Malik Mustafa.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like he is that fast.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's by a full tenth of a second faster in the 40R dash than any other safety on the roster.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not Ashton Davis, but Ashton Davis has proved your special teams only break glass case of emergency safety play only.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: He has not had a great camp defensively.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't mean he can't make this roster though, special teams wise, he's been with Brent Boyer's whole career, Davis has, but back to Marky Seagull, you know, he was asked about Jerry Gray, hook him, baby, it says, Jerry Gray has taken my football IQ to a whole new level.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's making it way easier out there.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm excited about Marky Seagull,
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: mallet Mustafa and Marquis Eagle doesn't seem to be the same.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what it is.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like it's going to be Jair Brown and Marquis Eagle.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, mallet Mustafa still out with their hamstring and it seems like it's kind of a rough hamstring because now you're two and a two plus weeks in.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: don't get the reps in a new system, you ain't playing.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Period.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now, maybe he'll catch back up to speed.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting mental reps.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: But, man, if you're a safety in speeds, not your strong suit and you're coming off a hamstring, there's some red flags there.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I am excited about Marquis Seagull.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really am.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of my favorite players.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of the 10 out of 10, you know, 49ers fit that we had in that draft.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: I really like the player at K say he's just so tough.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: He just fit exactly what it means to be a 49 or so the safety position is rough.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: But somebody's got to step up, can Jair Brown stop making so many mistakes?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: The plays are there, making plays, getting past breakups, all those things, interceptions.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the best ball skills at that position, but can you eliminate the major negatives that Jair Brown brings consistently since he's played in the NFL?
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's the question.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever his rookie year was his best year, now you're into the last year of your rookie contract, back to back horrid years from number 27, can he elevate his play back to what he was?
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have to see.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have to see.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we got more comments.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: I want to talk about Dominique Pune some good things from his presser as well, right after this.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: Football is back ladies and gentlemen, and whether you've been betting for years or you're just looking to get into the action for the first time, my bookie is where I'm playing.

- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: Jonathan appreciates you, man.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: How is starting in Z9ner's channel?
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: Fansets 1993 NFL Combine's Rugby chess, hey, man, go check them out.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a competition guy.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe in it.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: I believe in others.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: And man, if that is something you want to do, why not try?
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, we also want to put out there.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, 49ers hub.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: One of the places I got my start at, not a paid position, but they started promoting my stuff.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: I put some stuff up on their side.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: They're hiring.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: They're looking for, if you're want to get your start and covering the 49ers in any way, go check them out on social media as 49ers hub.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: Tell them, John, Cynthia, great group of dudes.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: They posted one of my videos breaking down Fred Warrner's College tape what's it again whenever I first started and be shoot
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it wasn't my first job writing, but it was like one of the first times I was specializing diners content, film breakdowns, and like yeah, I went back and clicked through the archives and you can see me breaking down Jerick McKinnon tape and I kept a wither spoon and all that stuff, but in the story, I agree with this.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you want to start something like that, and it doesn't even apply it.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's hobbies, jobs, side hustles, don't give a damn retirement savings, don't care.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: right here.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter how you start just that you start.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to adjust along the way.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Just start.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Don't look for perfection.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Don't wait until everything is exactly the way you want it just start.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: Especially with YouTube.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's going to watch it but you're grandma anyway whenever you get started.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: You have time to kind of curve your paths and figure out which way you go.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was going to get my start and fantasy football.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was too saturated, a lot of the same conversations like, man, nobody's really doing it.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't find something that nobody else is doing, it's so, you know, eventually found my way to the 49ers and doing this and it, you know, it's kind of worked out for me and you're going to lie.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: I, even though there's a lot of people out there with all the channels and whatever else, don't allow that to dissuade you from starting.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and as always e-mail me, 40 in our church podcast at gmail.com, I'm happy to have conversations to help.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want anything from you.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: But uh, man, if I can help you achieve and enjoy life better as one of us wins, we all win.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Life is simple.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: Help somebody out.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, come on, man, it's just simple.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: Um, have as much fun as you can, help as many people as you can, those two things.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: You follow those.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be alright.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: Don't hurt people.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: You don't be alright.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anyway.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: uh... it take that for what you will now other stuff with as far as just practice notes that i want to get to seems like brought brought pretty just keeps
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: big place.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: The gampals, the risk, the greedy, perty continues.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: Matt Perl's had brought pretty going to Levit of 16, two deep bombs again, wanted to Sean Strivley and how great is it that one to Sean Strivley's back, but also that to Sean Strivley's back playing outside in team.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: That is where I want him.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: also party had another deep pass to to Marcus Robinson who just keeps stacking days continuously but it wasn't all gold from uh... to Marcus Robinson he did get intercept up to stout had a pickoff and i and t against him and training camp today so that's part of it now i do want to talk about something that pissed me off a little bit i i hope uh...
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get to this.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: Dale, appreciate you, man.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate the super chat, you are awesome.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is purely because you interact with your audience.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: Best YouTube to watch by far.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, John Mandale.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: We don't agree on everything, but you are beyond always welcome.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate, I love seeing you in the chat because I know how active you are, and for the live audience, it is awesome, man, and very, very thankful for you.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully one day we can hang out and share beer, first drinks on me always, no matter who you are.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: Now, probably my biggest critique and I have lots of critiques with the way in which 49ers handle rookies, which I think this is not a unique that's, you know, this is not a critique that's unique to me.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers don't like to play rookies and I also don't think that the 49ers play in for rookies is to play.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's problematic.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: When talking about to Sean
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're moving him around outside the inside and seeing how he handles it, in quote, I, I fucking hate it, it bothers to hell out of me.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: The other day with Remelo Height, he was talking to, he was like, yeah, they got me, they asked what's the hardest part about camp, and he says, man, playing so many different spots, like moving around and, you know, playing a line and off and coverage and
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: you simplify for your rookies, so they can find a role.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you don't have a plan.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, man.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: You should have a plan for how to use Deshawn Stribbling.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think that they do.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: They're just like, you're gonna learn all three wide receiver spots and we'll see what happens.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, throw everything against the wall and see what sticks.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: No, like that is not, I don't like that.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: You should have a plan for how to get now.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, Deshawn Strivling goes out there.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: It learns all three spots in the most complicated wide receiver scheme in the NFL, by the way, with all the motions, pre-snap, and whatever else.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: And like, dude, you're asking this guy to do Vance calculus.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now one of the things that's great about Deshawn Strivling has been a not one, but two, but three separate types of offense playing multiple positions.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe the learning curves a little bit less.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't like this.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really don't.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: You should have a plan for how to use Stribbling and Ramelahite and make it simple for them and then up The difficulty as they go through the season once they show them, they can master small amounts like My teaching implementation is very drastic to what they are It's funny outside of the lifelastine Um, it's just like how'd you sleep
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: and I was like, dude, I had three dreams about coaching football.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: What's usually have a lot of dreams about coaching football, but not three separate ones in the same night.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh dang, am I getting the itch back?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't really happy dreams about coaching, though.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't like positive, like, oh, I gotta get back out.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't that, like, I don't miss, I miss practice.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: I do miss practice, practice, we're always the best.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: Just seeing these players grow and building relationships and, you know, teaching, fundamental, I love that stuff.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway,
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Kubiax, Shadyhan, all of them are thousand times better than I would ever be.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just completely disagree with the way in which they're handling implementing rookies.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of goes step for step whenever you look at the non-elite talents brought in at the wide receiver position at rookies, never plain.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now first the second round picks up played.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: wide receiver for Kyle Shanahan.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: Dante Pettis, Brennan Ayuk, Debo.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty much it.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Ricky Pierce all.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: Asteris next to that one, right?
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: But that's, but then you look at all the other wide receivers that just completely flamed out and never played at all.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: It just the doghouse and all those things.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you're asking these guys to learn too much.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, um, yeah, and this is just too times so far behind in the chat.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are crushing it and I appreciate y'all.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: All look at this man.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: We got a new member.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: Jonathan.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, became a new YouTube member.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for supporting us.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate everybody.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: However you watch and or listen, we appreciate you.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand there are different levels and not everybody can super chat and subscribe and support you know monetarily.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's okay If you watch this and you enjoy this we are thankful.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much But yeah I don't I don't like it Like have a plan
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: Not, let's give him everything and see what he can handle.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Eh, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: I get that, and I'm seeing the Puka comments and the misses, but like, dude, make it easy on your players.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I just, we talk all the time about how great it is to have a remorse here and how easy it is for all the defense backs, and it's just simple, and they don't have to thank it all those things.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: But then you look at the flip side and the wide receivers that just can't figure it out, whether it's Jordan Walkins, Cowin, Danny Gray, Phil out, all the different wide receivers, but there's no criticism there.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: Ugh!
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: I just...
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: I get pissed.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: I...
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: I just get mad.
- 35:54[UNKNOWN]: Ugh.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, have a plan.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Verbal Kent, come on, man.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: The man with the plan.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Know what you're trying to accomplish.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of that, let's just throw him in the sharks and see if he can swim.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's like, make it easier on your guys.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not the offensive's way.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: That is not the offense's way, and right here, yeah, appreciate you, too.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Staff needs to learn how to integrate young players and ramp them up as they get season.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: The only rookies that ever play for the 49er's offense are guards.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: George Kiddled did it tight in.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: That was the 2017 when you had nothing, but outside of that, rookies don't play.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: They just don't.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not at tackles, not at center, not at tight end, not at wide receiver, not even at running back, which is like the easiest thing.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's a problem.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: It just, ah, it gets me a little bit.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, it's obvious.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm smarter than you.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get what I want out of you, whether you like it or not.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, it's a problem.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now, speaking of the one rookies that actually do play in couch and hands offense, their cards, Connor Colby last year, Dominique Poonie for years before that, Spencer Burrford before that.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's it guards rookies don't play in this offense, but Dominique Poonie did and he did well He was at the podium today and he let off with man.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: I feel a lot better than I did last year
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now he downplayed the injury, which we have not.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about the biggest reason for his struggles being injury related to start the 20, 25 season and it took him about half the year and then something clicked.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he talked about how from halfway through the second year, adjustments that he made technique wise.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: started to work, and it finally flipped the switch in his head, that technique just kept working.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't allude to what the technique was.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: He was even asked about, he's like, yeah, I'm not going to talk about that.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: But he did talk about how Chris Forester kept telling them, this ain't going to keep working.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: This ain't going to keep working.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: This ain't going to keep working.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: And eventually, guess what?
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: That technique didn't keep working.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what it is.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: I probably have to go back and spend hours that I don't have to do that.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah,
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: I wish we weren't coming off the move and we have in-laws coming in tomorrow like my life is about to get But data is what which it's just I feel like it's just one thing after one battle after another the Chapman Summer Good thing in-laws coming into town.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good thing.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited Whatever else, but like I'm gonna have to jump around time when I didn't even unpacked yet I don't even know how we're gonna get it done, but whatever You'll figure out how that is, but Dominique Puni
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: you saw it last year where it was just like damn this guy is awesome from the second half on you could argue the most consistent I think there's three incredibly consistent offensive lineman from the second half on Trent Williams, Colton McKinvets and Dominique Pune, 60% of your
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there we go.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, McGlench, you did play Ricky or thank you.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate that.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: Love it.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: Put it out there.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well said.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well said.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: But Poonie also said that I see a lot of growth from Alfred Collins and spoke specifically about Sebastian Valdez.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: How he's his favorite player to go against and how he gets him ready and season given him different looks depending on who he's playing against as the scout team guy.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: What Sebastian Valdez won scout team player the week several times, but
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Puni said, I feel like he's taking another step and is ready to put it all together.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: That is wonderful to hear.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: I will say in the training camps, I've been to this year.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: The consistency is still a major issue with Smash Valdez.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: He is a major splash player that will be in the backfield of Recaplay, and then get driven off the ball for yards the very next play.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: The consistency still has not been there.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have to see if that can translate with the joint practices, which start tomorrow.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so excited.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: So excited, which I could be there.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: Family.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: it's what it is.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: Don't say things out loud, John.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: Don't let the intrusive thoughts when can't do that.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Can't I do that?
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: But did we've got, you know, the game on Thursday, which is going to be awesome.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really excited about that one.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's going to be a lot of fun.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: B19.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: First time seeing the interview, I appreciate you a bad take, John.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: I love having conversations like this.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: Versatility is extremely important especially with these teams andries.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: They have a plan for all these guys But they have to prepare for what happens with the plant doesn't work.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: I would argue with the track history at wide receiver They have not had a plan And that's why so many guys do not pan out Technically you've only had two pan out that you've drafted two wide receivers.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: That was Brandon I you And that was Yeah, depot that was it
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: And name another wide receiver that you drafted that worked even Joanne Jennings.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: You had to cut took him three years before he even got any playing in time.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: Kendrick Bourne wasn't even drafted.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of got forced to play early because that was such a bad team.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: Trent Taylor, you got to go all the way back to 2017, 2018.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, but that's okay, like disagreements and conversations like our perfect.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: So B19, I appreciate you put that in there.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: I am all for way more discourse in any area that you guys want to go to.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, man.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: Dan case, a really complicated offense is not threatening if the players don't get to specialize.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_01]: A jack of all trades is a master of none.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that, you can tell he's an education.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: You stud, making it sound all smart.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so it was, uh, and yeah, Dale right here, honestly, if you get Brando out of the center position, hell would freeze over, don't expect to happen this year.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: I do think this is the last year and Carver Willis is the hope.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Carver Willis is the hope.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want Carver Willis to be the long-term sinner Brett toath I take him But this year it is going to be Jake Brindle and what is hopefully his last year and he rides off in the sunset and goes coach or you know He's smart guy.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think he practiced a lot all that stuff So John is going to need that I survived the suburb of 2026 teacher.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: There we go, man
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you guys so much so positive news is they said they expect black and James back soon Believe it when you see it.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I love that.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: They need to be out there and the fact that they're missing week one It's so problematic man these guys need reps The 40 hours don't trust running backs not name Christian McAfrey
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: They've missed now several weeks.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: How are you going to expect them and trust them in season?
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: Are we just going to load up on christian McAfrey till he dies?
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very upset with how the runny back position has been handled this off season.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: I really thought you should have moved on from Isaac Rendo, but I get it.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Ricky contracts hard to trade.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's going to want that guy.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: The most injured player in the NFL gets injured his peck, but he's working out on the side.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: You could see him.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's get looks close, but you can't trust him.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: You needed more running.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: You needed veteran running back dip.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's guys like Naja Harris still out there.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: There are guys out there that have NFL experience that you could still go get.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't like it.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: And instead, you're getting sincere McCormick, Khalil Herbert, and Patrick Taylor, Jr. gonna begin 30 carries each throughout the preseason.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: Every single, like, you're missing opportunities.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I'm so upset.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I'm so upset.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: Any observations on our guy Alfred Collins.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Dominic Pony talked about how, you know, there's been a lot of growth with Alfred Collins out there and even Dominic Pony said just so good versed the run, he's got to add some past rush to him.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: So like the one V ones, which you're testing past rush.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's not Alfred Collins.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's not where he's going to thrive.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: But he is just getting back out there, too.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: He had the shoulder surgery, played through that in the playoffs, had the shoulder surgery right after the playoff loss, missed OTAs, getting there, getting there.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that Alfred Collins out there gets reps is huge now.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you can get some of that growth because he's got to learn to win early.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Got to win, got to learn to win early.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at dead case.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: Jalen heard does it count man.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: I love Jalen heard so much.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was awesome.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Jenny's overall was a huge success as the seventh rounder but she cut him, brought him back, he didn't play it all in the first two seasons at all.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I, you've only played his rookie year due to injury.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: It cost you any.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: I talked about that a lot like
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: That was the COVID year and yeah, the close contact guys out and all that whatever else said yeah, it was rough that was that was rough, man You guys are great
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Thomas, I feel like Shanahan doesn't give rookies enough rope.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: When Cowen catches two 40 yard bombs and is banished to the shadow ramp, something is fundamentally wrong with that.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Did not get a target for another six consecutive weeks after that second 40 yard catch against cheese.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: Six weeks, not another target.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I get it, Cowen, I get it, but like adjust your system if it's like, it's one of
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: I criticize everybody, I used to tell my players this, if I'm not giving you coaching points, I'm not criticizing you, I'm done with you.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm coaching my best players hardest.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna be more critical on team captains than anybody else, and if you don't like that then you're not a captain.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I would also say like, dude, you guys are kids, you're in high school, all right?
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: I coach the Dunkinville, it's what it is.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm coaching you in a way, you don't like, let's have a conversation.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm too hard on you, and that affects, like, where you are, come talk to me, help me know how to motivate you better, because everybody is different.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little different when you're in the NFL, obviously.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: You're professional.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're paying you millions of dollars.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: Should the fuck up, do what I tell you to say.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't like it, then get the hell out of here.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's different than coaching high schoolers.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: but I don't know, the results speak for themselves and the results aren't good.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: You spent the most draft capital on wide receivers since Kyle Shanahan's been here, has not resulted in that, really, really hasn't.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: You bring in vets.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: They seem to thrive pretty pretty well, manual sanders, to Mark's Robbuses been really, really good for what you paid for.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's something as of late.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: My heavens will see all those different things.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: Being IT appreciate a fair point, John.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think the plan for stripling is to play the big slot JJ roll, but also play outside in two wide receiver sets, which is why they need them to learn Z.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's too many.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: X, Y, X, Y, or the F roll, which is what they label whenever to once there, but I don't know, man.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot right here.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think will be running back two week one?
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be Jordan James.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to shift and then amount of time.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: that Joanne Jennings, or so, my head's all over the place now, sorry, the amount of time that Caleb Black is a rookie is missing, only benefits Jordan James, because he's had a four year in the scheme, right?
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: So because he's had a four year in there, I think that's why it benefits him more.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: I really, really do.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the running back to is going to be Jordan James, probably
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: But I want Tibo to a specialized role.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want Tibo out there first in 10 in the running back position, you know what I mean?
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: I want that.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather that be Jordan James or Caitlyn Black.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: I want Tibo in a specialized past set, second and long, passing situations, whatever else.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: Use them as a traditional third down pack.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would like.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would like.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Grindos, yeah, anyway, do what that would you want.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to scroll through a lot of these different grandals not a receiver man you can't even run screens right like there were three times is rookie hours at a game regular season and it's just a half-back screen and he freaking goes so wide
- 48:48[SPEAKER_01]: he catches the ball turns around and all of his blockers are tin yards inside like he can't even run that right like i i'm just so out on that player until he can prove to be healthy could prove to have vision could prove to make good reads like if you can't run a screen right i'm sorry i'm not going to give you wide receiver snaps that's just me i don't know who started that all thing but like that's okay and maybe the screen maybe should be a receiver but
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm I bound on that one anyway.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, sin?
- 49:20[SPEAKER_01]: Glad you get right here.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: Burnshade makes this team over Cowling in my opinion.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see that.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: Cowling got blown up today by Fred Warner.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_01]: Catch over the middle, but I don't think you made the catch, but anyway, there is a very different
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: You watch number six run around number 86 run around.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're not the same human beings.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: Not even close.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: They're the same size.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_01]: They're both tiny.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_01]: But one of them slow and one of them is lightning quick.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying I'm all in on Jacob Cowling.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying there's a clear path for Cowling to make this team.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's punt returner.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: I want Tibo to be the punt returner all the time, but he got his first reps there today, which I like.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: I can't find a place for burgen personally.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: He makes some spectacular catches, but everything is just level 10 difficult, but anyway, yeah, it's just there.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, yeah, right here, Shades has sit CNC until we want at this point.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: I would not be upset.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: Let them get some individual work, do some 101s, but I don't want him taking a lot more contact.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's just me.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't now.

- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that whatever you got drafted I think him and Jordan walkins fit that stereotype.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure how much of a football player they are contact football wise
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: They both, yeah, should be there, Oscar.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: Black should be number two running back.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: I bet my bank account, he had 600 yards.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to have Christian McAfrey being out for a while.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see CMC being the cowboy back this season.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: And see 49ers running the two back sets, especially with Kittle is back out.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like that.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's just Black's got a practice.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's a rookie, 25 year old rookie.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie packs the easiest to get on the field the easiest offense of position to learn for sure Yeah, blacks look good.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: He passes the eye test when the pads came on.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt about that just Right here Shane county got two targets was awesome on both man.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: I wish the guy would get a chance Let's see it use them in the preseason.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: Throw them to the damn ball.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see them out there.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's banged up too
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: The story is chapters.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you have an official juice autograph, let me know.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'll DM you.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: I have a couple.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: We stock up.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now I don't stock up on all these autographs to sell them.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: I do it because I want people to come to the events and walk away with a positive, little physical day to celebrate.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, and I know you're across the pond too, so get any one.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: I do know that a lot of the UK faithful guys are coming out.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: That might be the best way to just get, get, get it in their hands.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, DM me, maybe we can figure something out.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate your tour, yes, yeah, DM me.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we'll figure something out.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: Big tone back again.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the super chat.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_01]: Take off the coach glasses.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, one guy's fast.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: It also terrible, not catchy balls.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: Other ones slow, but doing his job as a receiver and catching the ball.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to trading cap.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen Jacob Cowen catch way more passes than Junior Bergen.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: I've just tell you like Junior Bergen's run with a force man.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's not out there getting reps with the ones.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now the the wide receiver rotation is different, but Bergen's on the back end.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that there's a chance to be on the crash squad all year last year.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wanted him.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody wanted him.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't shown.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to get the chance to go out.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: And if he could do some things in the preseason games, then we'll see.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know, man, I see him.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just like, dude, every single time he is fully blanketed.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, he makes some catches.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: He does.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I don't know, and I hope I'm wrong and I hope Junior Perkins, the next Trent Taylor and he's awesome in whatever else.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just telling you, it's a rough road.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a rough road up there, but that's okay, big.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: If Junior Perkins your guy, don't change based on what I'm saying.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see what happens whenever they're out there and they're playing in preseason because he's gonna get snaps because every other wide receiver is banged up and injured.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, do it like I'm not trying to dissuade you.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just telling you what I I struggle nobody wants that guy Cowan gets cut he'll be claimed and a heartbeat and a heartbeat is a fourth round pick And he's put up good NFL tape and he's been a partner turner for an entire year without losing one turnover like he's done it
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's the difference for me.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_01]: Ben says, Junior Burger gives me Ronnie Bell vibes.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: No particular reason just got filled.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, tougher player than athletic.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: Shane, appreciate you, man.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: He says the road rush parties are the best.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing better if you can go.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, man.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's very, very kind.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: Ironically, Coach Glasses take the conspiracy over this.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_01]: Take the consistency over the splash.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_01]: That is my thing.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I used to tell my players this all the time.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: It got you like did you see that play I told you like like no, did you see the next play?
- 56:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want negatives I'll take a three yard game 10 times in a row Over a 12 yard game and then a negative one yard I'm telling you I give me three play three yards every time I hate the negatives I hate it and when we would grade our players
- 57:02[SPEAKER_01]: We would sit down in every single player got their own score sheet.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: And we would go through and they would watch themselves and they would grade themselves.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: Plus two plus one zero minus one minus two on every single play.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: Then we tell you that up at the end.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'd see how they graded themselves.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'd show them what I grade them.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: We'd go over the discrepancies.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then what we would need to work on.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we did for every single player.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: You sit down with your position coach guys and you do that.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: Negative plays.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_01]: can't do it.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_01]: Won't do it.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: I can't win with him.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: Um, oh, Maria.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_01]: My 12 year old is about to start seventh grade and I've got the coach calling me asking me to let him play football.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's Texas.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: It is real there.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_01]: The seventh grade's when the pads come off for the school.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_01]: Um, change my life for the positive.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: I understand it's not for everybody and you know, people are holding their kids out longer and if you don't feel comfortable and don't
- 58:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you right now, playing tackle football.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: I start playing a third grade.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_01]: Probably, it's a lot.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I would not have gotten out of my situation if not for football.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen that happen for a lot of lot of kiddos.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, Marie, if you want to message me or whatever else and talk about the pros and cons and all those different things, yeah, more than happy to help.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know, I let my kids play.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: I put my kids and flag football early.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_01]: But they don't do tackle football out here in California that young through the school.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted my kid to play through the school and they did and eventually I had to coach my kid because the coach quit but whatever, yeah, I still think football offers a lot of a character development community, all those things.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_01]: big tone right here by coach glasses i mean from his production last year where he was dead in the water and now he's breathing living body uh... not saying i know that i know that big time i don't know if you are giving me your somebody else but big tone here the man uh... yeah it no worries
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: right here big toe this literally the first podcast i've heard anything productive from counting on camp literally and that's from multiple people this is the first time i've heard anything positive interesting um i mean i've been to multiple practices and i've been at everyone
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he looks great.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_01]: I am saying he does good things consistently, but yeah, I'm not buying a Jacob Cowling Jersey or anything like that.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just think he's making the roster personally.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I could be wrong.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope somebody rises up and takes a job from him.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be very happy with that.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay, I'm not, I know Larry hates him.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: I know Larry hates him.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_01]: But he loves Jordan Walkins, and I watch Jordan Walkins, and I'm just like, ooh, that's so soft.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: But Jordan Walkens gets open too.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_01]: They're very similar.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like either one of them are a complete wide receivers.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like, but what else are you going to do?
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have somebody, Christian Kirk ain't practicing.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have somebody.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: uh... let me see here a couple more notes jack jones had another interception today uh... it was against a dream martines so do with that which you will jorda walkins did have a touchdown so that was from that jones in the red zone love that jorda walkins get open consistently it just balls got to be perfect or he coming down with it and i think perils even put out article just talking about how too he's just so soft uh... just just soft
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_01]: got to fix that got to fix that got to fix that um let's see here what else I've got some more I know I've got some more but let's see here a couple other just start comments okay then the super chats yeah we're good so tomorrow is joint practice day gonna be a lot of fun four hours get to play against somebody else this period of training camp is concluded
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's now time for preseason and it's going to be awesome to hit other guys.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be awesome to see how your team does against other players.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is huge.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to get a different scheme of different front all things are just going to be different different quarterbacks, different coaches, different play call.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is where you have this foundation of the depth chart now.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: you have all the training camp whatever else until paths come on that's your first demarcation line has been my tongue uh... then you have preseason and then you got the final fifty three
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing is solidified.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the greats obviously are, but shoot.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_01]: The battle at left guard, the battle at safety.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: When will Malik return and start getting snaps?
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now the guys that have been out, do not expect him to play this week.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: Thursday night, don't expect to play against the Titans.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect either three of the running backs to play.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely not both.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely not CMC, not Kirk, not Evans.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: Don't expect those guys.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: The back end guys, man 86,
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_01]: let's see it right here from ill OMG do you like Pauline over walkins and cowine no I think he's in that group I do like Pauline I like Grimesmore but I prefer outside wide receivers that could stress to feel vertically Pauline's quick
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_01]: Pauline's built like Cowan, he's tougher than Cowan.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's not saying much over the middle.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_01]: I would say the toughness factor of those three, I would go Pauline Cowan walkins as far as just being physical at the catch point.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not Cowan over walkins, but Cowan's not very physical at the catch point either.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_01]: Wesley Grimes, I take over all four of them.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_01]: I wish Wesley Grimes would take them all.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I'd probably put Junior Bergen behind almost all of them personally and maybe that's where I'm at.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, maybe that's a flaw on my own perception.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, let's let's challenge that in a like, thank you like challenge me because I understand we all get kind of stuck in our ways.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I hope Junior Bergen goes out there and crushes it and everybody says, in your freaking face, I'm not rooting against him.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not rooting against anybody that wears a 49ers uniform.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_01]: Not doing that.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_00]: So Pauline is fast.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_00]: Pauline is very fast.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: What did he run?
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_01]: I've got it right here.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let me pull up my little handy dandy.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_01]: Count him, guide, will Pauline
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_01]: He ran a four, four, eight, five, nine, one, eighty, three.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: So not super, super fast, but, you know, a stud special teamer, but while I got this pulled up, you know I want to talk about my man, Wesley Grimes.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_01]: Four three five six two one ninety three like I am bias.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want big-bodied wide receivers I do I get that every roster probably needs to have a little shifty something something Like a Jacob Cowling like a junior burgundy and like you know a wheel Pauling I want Wesley Grimes.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_01]: I want six two one ninety three That's faster.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_01]: Wesley Grimes looks good.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_01]: Looks good, but he has a played a lot in the slot.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's been outside
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, I appreciate your big tone.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_01]: I know, man, dude.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: No way will.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_01]: We're freakin' up.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_01]: But love, not the but love.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_01]: Disagrements are a great thing.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: These conversations need to be had.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_01]: And challenging people on their preconceived ideas, what you're doing to me.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_01]: Because now, I just want to watch 86 play football.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is what this is about.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's guys fighting for that roster spot.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_01]: So like, when you hear takes that you disagree with.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: The best thing that we could do is reevaluate process new information and then re-gather where you stand.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, I wanna be watching 86 out there Thursday, like nobody's business and this is the best time.
