- 1:27Speaker 1: Welcome, Todd mcshaye coming up. Also, Brandon Marcelo coming up.
- 1:31Speaker 1: We'll talk NFL, we'll talk college football. I'll start with this.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And I saw where Bobby Ports's house was broken into.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Bobby Portter's plays for the Bucks, and he had a
- 1:40Speaker 1: video up and he was like, here's like the footage
- 1:45Speaker 1: these people broke into my house when I was at work,
- 1:48Speaker 1: meaning playing basketball, and here you have the audio mic.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Here you go play it. Please.
- 1:53Speaker 3: What's good Milwaukee over the last four and a half seasons,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I'm considering Milwaukee as a home. The love you guys
- 1:59Speaker 3: giving me here is this something that I ever felt
- 2:01Speaker 3: before in my NBA career. So I've always felt like
- 2:05Speaker 3: I had to give it right back to you guys.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I know we've gotten out to a horrible start. To
- 2:09Speaker 3: start the season. But while I was at my game yesterday,
- 2:13Speaker 3: I had a home invasion and they took most of
- 2:15Speaker 3: my prize possessions. Any info that leads to the return
- 2:19Speaker 3: of any of my belongings will be rewarded himsomely.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Let me know, thank you.
- 2:25Speaker 5: That sucks for him.
- 2:26Speaker 1: It also sucks that he has to go, Okay, I
- 2:27Speaker 1: know what you're gonna say, We've sucked this year. And
- 2:31Speaker 1: because he had to like preface it in the middle
- 2:33Speaker 1: of that, hey, he's like, I know, it's been a
- 2:35Speaker 1: rough start.
- 2:35Speaker 5: To the season.
- 2:36Speaker 1: He don't can't rock the house. He's like eight miling
- 2:40Speaker 1: himself a little bit so other people don't do it.
- 2:42Speaker 5: He's like, but someone broke in, and he showed.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Like a black and white maybe a video or grainy
- 2:47Speaker 1: footage of who it was from security cameras. But yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 1: that sucks. And not only does it suck obviously because
- 2:53Speaker 1: someone got in a broken I am surprised that whenever
- 2:57Speaker 1: someone has a public profession like he does, when you
- 3:00Speaker 1: know he's at a game or you know he's out
- 3:02Speaker 1: of town, that there's not somebody at the house.
- 3:05Speaker 5: That's a good point because.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And again, this is not victim shaming at all, because
- 3:09Speaker 1: that that is terrible. And maybe there was somebody there
- 3:11Speaker 1: and still they broke in. I don't know, but I know,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and I'll compare on a very very mild level myself.
- 3:18Speaker 1: If I'm gone and I'm at any time gone where
- 3:21Speaker 1: people know I'm gone, somebody's at my house, because it's
- 3:24Speaker 1: a job where publicly, if I'm on tour and someone
- 3:28Speaker 1: knows that I don't know I'm in Iowa or Boston,
- 3:34Speaker 1: I know that they know that I'm not at my house.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Therefore someone's gonna be at my house. And so hopefully
- 3:39Speaker 1: this is hopefully they get it back and they have
- 3:42Speaker 1: a picture and somebody's gonna see that picture, that video.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I know who that is, Yeah, like for sure, Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 1: but yeah, I hated that for him. It's also to
- 3:50Speaker 1: have your house broken into. And I've had it happen
- 3:51Speaker 1: to me before, way back in the day. And again
- 3:54Speaker 1: it was while I was on the air even and
- 3:56Speaker 1: that's when I lived alone, and so when I was
- 4:00Speaker 1: on the air, you knew I wasn't at home because
- 4:01Speaker 1: I was on the air, and they took that time
- 4:03Speaker 1: to go and break into my house and steal all
- 4:05Speaker 1: kinds of stuff, including my PlayStation two, which had the
- 4:08Speaker 1: only video of me skydiving. I've got pictures. It was
- 4:12Speaker 1: a is a CD and it was the time I
- 4:14Speaker 1: went skydiving, and it had a tiny woman that was
- 4:16Speaker 1: attached to me. Everybody else had big men, had a
- 4:19Speaker 1: tiny woman because I was the last one to sign
- 4:21Speaker 1: up and I went by myself. When you were a skydiving, yes,
- 4:23Speaker 1: a tiny woman that we were tandem, and so she
- 4:25Speaker 1: was tandem behind me and everybody else like jumped off,
- 4:30Speaker 1: but she did double backflips out of the plane with me.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And nobody will believe me because I don't have the
- 4:34Speaker 1: video because the person broke into my house and stole
- 4:36Speaker 1: my PlayStation two.
- 4:38Speaker 6: That's the one thing you wish you could have back.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Unless it was a PS three Happy two at that time,
- 4:43Speaker 1: it was a two two, maybe a two I think,
- 4:44Speaker 1: So whatever this stilema skydiving video, I promise we did
- 4:48Speaker 1: two or three backflips out of the plane.
- 4:50Speaker 7: And you must have been watching it too a lot
- 4:52Speaker 7: because it was in your PlayStation. Why else would it
- 4:54Speaker 7: be in there?
- 4:55Speaker 5: Well, you should download games at that point too.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Okay, So I don't have it, I don't I think
- 5:00Speaker 1: I have a single oh, I bought one. It didn't work.
- 5:04Speaker 7: I bought them The Boys for Christmas. I bought them
- 5:06Speaker 7: a CD a Madden and it was the actual scenes.
- 5:09Speaker 7: I just downloaded it because so they can open up
- 5:12Speaker 7: something in Christmas.
- 5:13Speaker 1: You know, that's a good reason. They were all like, yeah, yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 1: I guess.
- 5:20Speaker 5: I hate that.
- 5:20Speaker 1: For Bobby Porters, I hope he finds whoever was it
- 5:22Speaker 1: stolen stuff. I'm sure with some good stuff too. He's rich.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 1: But for me, I think because the position I'm in
- 5:27Speaker 1: that if I'm ever gone and people know I'm gone,
- 5:30Speaker 1: there's somebody at my house all the time, because that's
- 5:33Speaker 1: just begging people. As a matter of fact, they have
- 5:35Speaker 1: a gun pointed at the door every second I'm gone.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Every door, I've got somebody at every door with a
- 5:40Speaker 1: gun if I'm not there. So not the biggest sports story,
- 5:45Speaker 1: but something I was thinking about. Wanted to bring it
- 5:47Speaker 1: something else I've been thinking about. I bet the Cowboys
- 5:50Speaker 1: plus three. I thought, you know, if the Cowboys are
- 5:52Speaker 1: really gonna do what I think they do, we're gonna,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I said, we could. I bet on them. I'm gonna
- 5:55Speaker 1: beat the Falcons. And because you're I'm a massive Cowboys fan,
- 5:59Speaker 1: and I thought this is getting nothing to it, and
- 6:02Speaker 1: so I bring not just because we talk Cowboys every
- 6:04Speaker 1: weekau Eddie, cause EDI's not a fan anymore. He'sin't more
- 6:06Speaker 1: in a Cowboys anything, even more this week Eddie hates
- 6:08Speaker 1: a Cowboys, I mean even less of a fan. This week.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I thought it was hilarious when you see Dak mouthing
- 6:13Speaker 1: on the sidelines we e fing suck.
- 6:15Speaker 7: Hey, Dak, we've been saying that too, dude, welcome to
- 6:17Speaker 7: the club. Oh he went watching you. We've been saying that.
- 6:20Speaker 1: That's kind of dirty. Dog. I don't think that's true.
- 6:22Speaker 1: What do you mean he has no weapons. What do
- 6:24Speaker 1: you expect him to do? Okay, what's he saying? Then
- 6:26Speaker 1: he's blaming the people that were on the field at
- 6:27Speaker 1: the time. No, he's talking about himself.
- 6:30Speaker 5: He's talking about the organization.
- 6:31Speaker 7: We feel you, bro, we feel you. We've been saying
- 6:33Speaker 7: that too, But you're acting like it's Dak.
- 6:35Speaker 1: No.
- 6:35Speaker 5: My only point was you said he he.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Said we suck, and I'm saying we agree. Okay, I
- 6:41Speaker 1: can subscribe to that, but it felt like you said
- 6:45Speaker 1: Dak specifically. No, I mean Dak.
- 6:46Speaker 7: Yes, it's hard for him too. It's just it's it's
- 6:49Speaker 7: just hard watching the Cowboys. Man, it's hard watching the Cowboys.
- 6:52Speaker 7: And yes, we two have been saying that too for
- 6:54Speaker 7: like the last three or four weeks.
- 6:56Speaker 1: We suck. And when QB two came in, though, I
- 6:57Speaker 1: was like, here we go, did you really think he's
- 7:00Speaker 1: I thought you back, because there was plenty of time.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They were down fourteen with like nine minutes left, and
- 7:03Speaker 1: I was like, here we go.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Do you think that they pulled Dak on purpose, like
- 7:08Speaker 7: because I just saw him looking at his wrist.
- 7:11Speaker 1: No.
- 7:11Speaker 7: And then they came back from commercial and said he's
- 7:13Speaker 7: out with a hamstring injury.
- 7:15Speaker 1: No, I do not get They pay him way too
- 7:17Speaker 1: much and there was too much time left and a
- 7:20Speaker 1: drive at that point would have made it a one
- 7:21Speaker 1: possession game. No, I thought it was the finger injury
- 7:26Speaker 1: when they pulled him. I thought it was because of
- 7:28Speaker 1: the finger. Yeah, not that his finger wasn't hurt, but yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 1: they said, and they're doing an MRI and his hamstring
- 7:33Speaker 1: today or whatever it is that.
- 7:37Speaker 7: I guess it's all connected, right, hamstring goes all the
- 7:39Speaker 7: way to your fingers.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Hamtring bone goes to finger bone, goes to the ham
- 7:43Speaker 1: and bone. So Dak's hurt then hurt, and I felt
- 7:48Speaker 1: like he was really hurt, like his shoulder hurt. And
- 7:51Speaker 1: I had bet him on the over eight catches and
- 7:53Speaker 1: he was at what well, so he was at seven
- 7:55Speaker 1: and he it was hurting bad. And I was like,
- 7:57Speaker 1: leave him in the game, leave him. And he comes
- 7:59Speaker 1: at eighth and I was like, get him out of the game.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Hit him out of the game. He's hurt. He hit
- 8:05Speaker 1: the over and I was like, you got him, remove him,
- 8:07Speaker 1: take him out of there.
- 8:09Speaker 5: So the Cowboys are gonna have to win a lot
- 8:12Speaker 5: of games.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think that's possible.
- 8:14Speaker 6: Yeah, they're done.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Okay, let me let me ask you this question. If
- 8:18Speaker 1: you had to take one of the teams to make
- 8:19Speaker 1: the playoffs, the Cowboys the Bengals, which have a pretty
- 8:23Speaker 1: tough schedule coming up, Ravens, a couple of Steelers games, Cowboys, Bengals,
- 8:29Speaker 1: or Jets. Pick a team. I'm still going cot Bengals.
- 8:35Speaker 1: We'll have a bet from both the Cowboys and the Bengals.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I mean, you go Bengals, right, Like, I think their
- 8:43Speaker 1: schedule is tougher.
- 8:45Speaker 6: Yeah, that entire division. Well, the brown suck.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We seen the Ravens kind of crap a little bit,
- 8:50Speaker 1: but every team craps a little bit. Every team doesn't
- 8:52Speaker 1: crap a lot. And the Ravens had an opportunity to
- 8:54Speaker 1: crap this weekend and they didn't. They dropped forty one
- 8:57Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 8:57Speaker 8: Right, Bengals got the Ravens, Chargers, Steelers next three.
- 9:01Speaker 1: They can do that. The Cowboys beat the Steelers, different Steelers.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Didn't the Cowboys be the steeper justin Fields?
- 9:06Speaker 6: Yeah, it was like two in the morning.
- 9:08Speaker 1: That's true. Everyone was sleepy. I'm still gonna go with
- 9:14Speaker 1: the Cowboys over those other two teams.
- 9:17Speaker 6: I'm going Bengals.
- 9:19Speaker 5: I mean, I guess, are we in a vacuum whe
- 9:23Speaker 5: Dack's not injured?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Because no, I don't know, we're in the real world.
- 9:26Speaker 1: But wins Man, Cooper Cup sorry, Cooper Rush, Cooper Rush
- 9:32Speaker 1: who got kicked out of the Rams?
- 9:33Speaker 9: Was it?
- 9:34Speaker 1: Hookah? Yeah, okay, I'm going with the Cowboys still. I
- 9:40Speaker 1: have faith, zero fan, I have faith. You sound like
- 9:43Speaker 1: one of us, I know, but it's just because I
- 9:46Speaker 1: put a bunch of money on them before the season
- 9:48Speaker 1: because Eddie made me. Uh. I'm going Cowboys, Kevin Yeah, Bengals.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Yeah, Bengals, Eddie, Yeah, I go Bengals. Man can't do
- 9:57Speaker 7: the Cowboys. We have no chance.
- 9:58Speaker 1: We med the Cowboy schedule.
- 10:00Speaker 7: Yeah, it's tough. We got the Textans coming up. We
- 10:03Speaker 7: have the Eagles next week. It's just have you played
- 10:05Speaker 7: Washington yet? I don't even think so. I have not
- 10:07Speaker 7: played Wasting.
- 10:08Speaker 8: Got the Eagles, Texans commanders.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And one answer.
- 10:16Speaker 5: I see two in one coming and.
- 10:17Speaker 8: The Giants Bengals, Panthers, Bucks, Eagles commanders again to.
- 10:20Speaker 1: End the matrix, backwards jump, and I'm sure that a
- 10:25Speaker 1: lot of that was on accident. Oh I think he
- 10:28Speaker 1: saw the guy coming. No, of course he did.
- 10:29Speaker 5: He jumped. I don't think he jumped purposely to flip backwards.
- 10:32Speaker 1: He was trying to think.
- 10:33Speaker 5: His momentum. Yes, his momentum, Edie did on purpose.
- 10:37Speaker 7: I saw he did the spin and then he saw
- 10:39Speaker 7: the guy like, oh I'm backwards, let me split it.
- 10:42Speaker 5: I think he was just in.
- 10:44Speaker 1: That was his movement momentum, and he just took him.
- 10:47Speaker 1: But it was awesome. It was amazing.
- 10:50Speaker 5: I thought it was gonna lose.
- 10:51Speaker 1: His helmet though when he got hit after it, because
- 10:53Speaker 1: he landed he took a pretty good blow. But he
- 10:55Speaker 1: got up. It was how about to do with the Giants?
- 10:57Speaker 1: And you watch Saquan just miling it.
- 10:59Speaker 6: Yeah, he's unbelievable.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Unbelievable. Okay, going Cowboys, Bengals and bangalsm I'm saying that.
- 11:09Speaker 1: But I gotta be real here, dudes. Every week we
- 11:12Speaker 1: go through this, what's the best case scenario for the
- 11:14Speaker 1: rest of the season and off season for you? We
- 11:16Speaker 1: lose every game and then get a good pick.
- 11:18Speaker 6: Dang, he's done done.
- 11:20Speaker 1: We're done done. I think you can even as it is,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I think you'll still win seven to eight games to
- 11:25Speaker 1: do what And I'm not satting? No, what do you
- 11:27Speaker 1: want to do? Do we do that? Okay?
- 11:29Speaker 5: No, no, no, I'm not arguing. I hope you do. I'm
- 11:31Speaker 5: saying I think you will.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I hope they don't.
- 11:35Speaker 7: I hope that we just lose, call it a year
- 11:37Speaker 7: and then start over next year. Okay, major change.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But does that mean you've changed out McCarthy? Does that
- 11:42Speaker 1: mean okay, are you trading Michael Parsons? Yeah?
- 11:47Speaker 5: Oh do you still? Are you still called the Cowboys?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Like, no, let's get the Star bring back the Oilers.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know, dude, Honestly, I really don't know.
- 11:55Speaker 5: So your best case scenario again one more time, is
- 11:58Speaker 5: we lose.
- 11:59Speaker 7: We lose every game from here on now, and we
- 12:01Speaker 7: just change we just change everything about our organization.
- 12:04Speaker 1: But that's not realistic. Change everything. Well, I mean we
- 12:07Speaker 1: still have our owner, so that's problematic. Okay, but you
- 12:09Speaker 1: keep the same quarterback, you just sign them same quarterback.
- 12:11Speaker 7: We have to we have CD, so we've got to
- 12:14Speaker 7: change the head coach. We got to change that coaching obviously,
- 12:16Speaker 7: with Zeke and all his problems going on, the discipline
- 12:20Speaker 7: in that in that office is not there.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Zeke sucks. So how many times?
- 12:23Speaker 5: Think he was every time?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Every time? Dude? But Zeke's not a real factor. He's
- 12:28Speaker 1: not going to be a real He's not a factor.
- 12:29Speaker 7: But I feel like if he's doing that, then that's
- 12:31Speaker 7: just the culture in there. Let's do whatever you want.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:35Speaker 7: I'm obviously not in there, but I feel like if
- 12:37Speaker 7: that's happening, that's got to be part of the problem.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You Okay, then then they're If A equals B according
- 12:46Speaker 1: to you, then C is you're not going to watch
- 12:47Speaker 1: any more games than you don't care this year? Yeah?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Oh no, I'll watch every game, but are okay, Then
- 12:51Speaker 1: that means I won't care as much. But that means
- 12:53Speaker 1: you're rooting against them every game.
- 12:54Speaker 7: What I will do is I will watch the game.
- 12:56Speaker 7: I'll probably be doing something while I'm watching that.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That means you'll be rooting against them. Because best case scenario,
- 13:00Speaker 1: as you lose every game. That's hard.
- 13:03Speaker 7: I'm not gonna say I'm gonna do that, but if
- 13:05Speaker 7: it happens, it's like it's like Kevin, like, if it happens,
- 13:08Speaker 7: like he went to the game.
- 13:09Speaker 5: To go see the Patriots and he wanted him to win.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but he wasn't hurt that they lost. His team
- 13:16Speaker 1: is terrible. His team has no weapons, no tools. The
- 13:20Speaker 1: one weapon they have is a baby infant weapon. That's
- 13:22Speaker 1: a quarterback who made a great place to get the
- 13:26Speaker 1: overtime and terrible to play in overtime.
- 13:29Speaker 5: But that's okay though, Yeah, that's all right.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Dude.
- 13:31Speaker 6: That balls in the air. It was coming right at us.
- 13:34Speaker 6: We were sitting in the inZone and I was like,
- 13:35Speaker 6: he's got him, he's got him, and they got picked.
- 13:37Speaker 6: I was like, he doesn't got them.
- 13:40Speaker 8: Towards the end, like everyone thought the game was over
- 13:42Speaker 8: and so we walked down and then they started driving,
- 13:45Speaker 8: and then we sat in the seats like ten rows
- 13:47Speaker 8: up from the end zone.
- 13:48Speaker 6: Real they scored.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Oh so you weren't on the field. No, I wasn't
- 13:51Speaker 1: on the field. He said, you were on the field.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Made it sound like that he was at the end zone.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He said, no, I didn't think that at all.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Catch it.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I thought he was like right there sideline.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Oh, I think he's like doing some him and Aaron.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Andrews and his dad. Yeah, okay, let's see. My things
- 14:04Speaker 1: were one Bobby Ports, two Cowboys, Eddie three. I wasn'tna
- 14:08Speaker 1: talk to Kevin about going to the game. I feel
- 14:10Speaker 1: like if I were a Patriots fan, I would be
- 14:13Speaker 1: very happy with that. Drake made performance yesterday very Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 6: He had a couple of bad plays. That pick, the
- 14:17Speaker 6: first pick was very, very bad.
- 14:19Speaker 8: But overall, I mean, he looked like maybe the best
- 14:22Speaker 8: player on the Tony Pollock's pretty damn good, by the way,
- 14:25Speaker 8: best player out of both teams, just making plays.
- 14:28Speaker 6: At least he gives me some hope.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It's exciting your dad and your brother with you. Yeah.
- 14:33Speaker 1: They flew in and I could see though, hoping for
- 14:37Speaker 1: a win because the whole family was there. Yes, so
- 14:39Speaker 1: I can under because I know if they lose, great,
- 14:42Speaker 1: you want a better pick, and they're not gonna win
- 14:43Speaker 1: a bunch of games. The Cowboys will probably win seven.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I think Cowboys went at least seven games this year.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I think the Patriots may win one or two more,
- 14:49Speaker 1: just because the NFL had so much parody. So they lose,
- 14:52Speaker 1: they lose, but I think I'd be I'd be sad
- 14:55Speaker 1: they lost because you wanted to win a game with
- 14:57Speaker 1: your dad and your brother.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 8: But I will say that fourth down play, the I'll
- 15:00Speaker 8: play of regulation brought enough joy where you're like, that
- 15:02Speaker 8: was fun. And I'll also say drawd Mayo, go for.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Two next time. I don't know why they don't go
- 15:07Speaker 6: for two? What are we doing? You know?
- 15:09Speaker 5: The general rule?
- 15:10Speaker 1: Great point. The general rule is if you're at home,
- 15:14Speaker 1: you go to overtime. Yeah, if you're on the road,
- 15:16Speaker 1: you go for two.
- 15:17Speaker 6: Yeah. And they had all the momentum.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And also who cares exactly? Who cares exactly?
- 15:22Speaker 6: It's like, why wouldn't you just go for it?
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah? I agree. My final thing was a lot of
- 15:26Speaker 1: people lost this weekend in college football. Just looking at
- 15:29Speaker 1: the list of teams that lost. Penn State lost. Now
- 15:33Speaker 1: they lost Ohio State. But I'm gonna read you all
- 15:35Speaker 1: the rank teams that lost. Penn State at three lost
- 15:37Speaker 1: Texas A and M at ten lost South Carolina. Iowa State,
- 15:40Speaker 1: who's undefeated by the way, lost of Texas Tech. Clemson
- 15:44Speaker 1: Haha lost to Louisville. Kansas State. We don't like this.
- 15:48Speaker 1: For Kansasate. We like Kansas State. They lost to Houston.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Pittsburgh lost to SMU. Pittsburgh lost bad. That game was
- 15:54Speaker 1: not a game and the Pittsburgh scored late to make
- 15:56Speaker 1: that somewhat looked like it was a close. It was
- 15:59Speaker 1: four eight twenty five and it was not that close
- 16:01Speaker 1: of a game. Yeah, and then Minnesota be Illinois. Illinois
- 16:05Speaker 1: was twenty four. We like Illinois. But a lot of
- 16:08Speaker 1: teams lost that were ranked one, two, three, four, five,
- 16:13Speaker 1: six seven teams. Arkansas is bad. Oh god, dang fire.
- 16:18Speaker 6: Turned that game on. It was like thirty five to
- 16:19Speaker 6: six or so.
- 16:20Speaker 1: It got bad real quick, and I you know, I
- 16:23Speaker 1: punished myself and forced myself to watch every down. I
- 16:25Speaker 1: was like, oh yeah, I was like, you're gonna be
- 16:26Speaker 1: a fan, be a fan loser. I did that too,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and so I watch every freaking.
- 16:30Speaker 6: Play out louder. Internally, I don't know.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Because I talk internally to myself as much as I
- 16:34Speaker 1: talk out loud. Call yourself a loser, yeah, I'm sure.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I thought. If you're gonna you're gonna be a loser.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Watch the game. Watch the game. Do not leave a
- 16:42Speaker 1: single play if you're gonna make a big deal about
- 16:44Speaker 1: it. It was an eleven o'clock game. You're gonna wake up
- 16:46Speaker 1: in the morning excited about it, and you're gonna watch the
- 16:48Speaker 1: whole game. You did this to yourself and I did
- 16:50Speaker 1: to watch the whole game, and it sucks. So stupid.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I'm stupid. It sucks.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Why are we putting so much on a team that
- 16:58Speaker 7: we have no control over.
- 17:00Speaker 5: It's a passion. Everybody's got passions, but like, really, like
- 17:03Speaker 5: after the game's over, boy, here he goes sports because
- 17:07Speaker 5: this team sucks.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Like I have no control over what they do. That's
- 17:10Speaker 1: their life. You don't have control over like what your
- 17:12Speaker 1: bosses do either, like corporate and they can fire you
- 17:15Speaker 1: hire you. I can send an email, okay, we sent
- 17:17Speaker 1: one to Jerry Jones.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Let us come the cowboy.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That's true.
- 17:20Speaker 7: That god, it just feels like we put so much
- 17:23Speaker 7: into this and then they just lose and lose and
- 17:25Speaker 7: then we'll sit there all sad for the rest of
- 17:27Speaker 7: the day, for the rest of the week.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You know, my Mondays are so hard. Now. My Mondays
- 17:32Speaker 1: were never hard. But it only feels that way because
- 17:34Speaker 1: you're losing. When you're winning, you're like, I love it,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I love putting it. Monday's a great best you wake up.
- 17:40Speaker 3: God.
- 17:41Speaker 1: We pretty much sucked on the parlay.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I kind of kicked that off too with Army.
- 17:48Speaker 6: That was close though, I mean.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Seventeen Kevin won the Vanderbilt plus seven. I did bet,
- 17:55Speaker 1: like the live betting. I bet put like nine hundred
- 17:59Speaker 1: bucks on Vanderbilt to what and they did and it
- 18:01Speaker 1: was awesome. That's great. Vanderbilt's like little eased the pan
- 18:04Speaker 1: a little bit. Well that was earlier. Yeah, But here's
- 18:06Speaker 1: the thing. There were there were four games. We knew
- 18:09Speaker 1: we weren't getting hit all four.
- 18:11Speaker 7: With Someday we will, though, and it's gonna be awesome
- 18:14Speaker 7: when we do that.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Kevin hit Vanderbilt plus seven at Auburn, Tennessee. Did be Kentucky,
- 18:20Speaker 1: but they did not cover sixteen and a half. Army
- 18:22Speaker 1: did beat air Forces. They did not cover Michigan Oregon,
- 18:25Speaker 1: which Reid picked that one was a.
- 18:29Speaker 10: Man.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That was the Actually.
- 18:31Speaker 8: I think they might have been covering. And then Oregon
- 18:33Speaker 8: scored late.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Hey, it was the worst one's but it was bad
- 18:36Speaker 1: great field bad is the worst one.
- 18:37Speaker 6: The game was never close.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about the game. The Monday night game. So
- 18:42Speaker 1: DraftKings picked six different app You're gonna love it. You
- 18:44Speaker 1: select two or more players and choose to have more
- 18:46Speaker 1: less of a stat points or rebounds. If you do
- 18:49Speaker 1: basketball or like the football game, you can do passing yards.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Patrick mahomes more lessan two hudred and fifty passing yards.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And they're playing the Bucks, and it's easy to go
- 18:57Speaker 1: more because again he throws, but he hasn't had to
- 19:00Speaker 1: be the quarterback he's been needed to be in the past.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna go less less than two fifty Baker Mayfield
- 19:08Speaker 1: more or less than two thirty six passing yards. I'm
- 19:10Speaker 1: gonna go more. I think they're gonna need to throw
- 19:12Speaker 1: because he's gonna sling. What is that even with his
- 19:15Speaker 1: eyes closed? What does that mean? Just spray and pray?
- 19:20Speaker 5: He said, like six called it duty reference.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and pray really Yeah, No, that's like in nineteen
- 19:28Speaker 1: eighties military, seventies eighties military.
- 19:32Speaker 5: I mean that spraying Prai's been around forever.
- 19:33Speaker 1: You mean who rah?
- 19:34Speaker 5: No, no, no, fram prai.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Has been a thing forever. They may also say it
- 19:37Speaker 1: in call it. Yeah. Kelsey more or lessan sixty one
- 19:40Speaker 1: receiving yards. Why not more?
- 19:42Speaker 6: Who cares his brother Jason Kelsey?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Is that? Don't Why would that idiot frat guy stupid? Yeah?
- 19:50Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 19:51Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 19:52Speaker 1: He's probably drying.
- 19:53Speaker 7: Being an idiot just to be an idiot. Yeah, you
- 19:57Speaker 7: mean what he was saying.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I don't understand because the years RaSE sorry a homophobic
- 20:02Speaker 1: slur for baiting a pop star. Just in my mind,
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'm like, why, First of all, never use that slur.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Second of all, dating a hot pop star makes yeah mix,
- 20:12Speaker 1: make you make nose? No? And then Kelsey slammed his phone.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Kelsey out fell like you sound you saw him kind
- 20:18Speaker 1: of fall, right If that that kid is lucky Kelsey
- 20:22Speaker 1: didn't pound him about pound of a one shot or
- 20:25Speaker 1: just shove him to the ground like the restraint that
- 20:27Speaker 1: Kelsey was able to What an idiot? What an idiot? Anyway?
- 20:31Speaker 5: Travis Kelsey less six.
- 20:33Speaker 4: All that stuff.

- 20:58Speaker 1: Slash promos. Are we gonna start with this? It's our
- 21:06Speaker 1: guy we talk to every week. It's National College Football
- 21:08Speaker 1: rid for twenty four to seven sports. Brandon Marcelo. Brandon
- 21:11Speaker 1: is a weekly regular. I think he's the best at
- 21:13Speaker 1: what he does. Follow him on Twitter b Marcelo and
- 21:16Speaker 1: as he tells us later at Brandon Marcelo on Instagram.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Let's get into college ball with Brandon Marcelo. Okay, Brandon,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I want to start with South Carolina and Texas A
- 21:24Speaker 1: and M is South Carolina getting a lot better as
- 21:28Speaker 1: the season goes, is Texas A and M getting a
- 21:30Speaker 1: lot worse or is this just SEC parody?
- 21:34Speaker 11: It's the parody portion of it. But also South Carolina
- 21:37Speaker 11: has been pretty good throughout the season. You know, they
- 21:40Speaker 11: nearly upset Alabama on the road. They probably should have
- 21:42Speaker 11: won that game. They were very close against LSU at
- 21:46Speaker 11: home in a morning afternoon game. Carolina, for them, they're
- 21:51Speaker 11: really good along the defensive front, and then when you
- 21:53Speaker 11: have a dynamic quarterback leors like Lenora Sellers, for them,
- 21:57Speaker 11: they've got opportunities to beat really anybody in the SEC.
- 22:00Speaker 11: It's just that like nothing had really kind of come together.
- 22:03Speaker 11: You know, Leonora's Sellers had been hobbled a couple of
- 22:05Speaker 11: times with some injuries. He's not a great passer, but
- 22:09Speaker 11: when the running game gets going, it makes him a
- 22:11Speaker 11: better passer because more things open up. And the key
- 22:15Speaker 11: here for them, the difference in this game between those
- 22:17Speaker 11: others two against LSU and Alabama was that the running
- 22:21Speaker 11: game got going early. They got a big lead early,
- 22:24Speaker 11: ten to nothing. A and M decides to try and
- 22:26Speaker 11: go for it on fourth down on their own side
- 22:28Speaker 11: of the field, and the floodgates kind of opened up.
- 22:30Speaker 11: And as a result, the playbook opened up a little
- 22:33Speaker 11: bit more for South Carolina.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I see a lot of Texas fans taking joy that
- 22:37Speaker 1: Texas A and M lost, and again just speculation here.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Can A and M still beat Texas?
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 22:43Speaker 11: I think so because A and M's got a pretty
- 22:46Speaker 11: good defense, especially up front. Their quarterback situation is pretty good.
- 22:52Speaker 11: Marcel Reed is kind of still learning on the go
- 22:55Speaker 11: as a first year starter and being inserted and picked
- 22:59Speaker 11: off the field and put back on the field these
- 23:00Speaker 11: last couple of weeks. You know, the thing for Texas
- 23:03Speaker 11: is that they really haven't played a big time game
- 23:07Speaker 11: on the road this season. Their toughest environment, I would argue,
- 23:11Speaker 11: has been at Vanderbilt other than Michigan. Now, Michigan the
- 23:16Speaker 11: Big House is different, but also Michigan is maybe going
- 23:20Speaker 11: to be a five hundred team, maybe a little bit
- 23:21Speaker 11: below this year. They're an average team at best. Vanderbilt's
- 23:25Speaker 11: above average. And so Texas really when they go on
- 23:28Speaker 11: the road at Texas A and M in that rivalry
- 23:32Speaker 11: game finally being played for the first time in more
- 23:34Speaker 11: than a decade, and there's going to be playoff implications
- 23:37Speaker 11: on the line and potentially a spot in the SEC
- 23:39Speaker 11: Championship game. That is going to affect the way Texas
- 23:43Speaker 11: plays so much more than Texas A and M, and
- 23:46Speaker 11: I think A and M is most definitely one of
- 23:48Speaker 11: the top three teams in the SEC, but playing that
- 23:52Speaker 11: game at home could make them end up looking like
- 23:54Speaker 11: the top team based off of the way they performing
- 23:57Speaker 11: that game with the home crowd behind them.
- 23:59Speaker 1: If we talk about SEC home crowds, Kyle Field a
- 24:03Speaker 1: place you hate to play because they are very allowed.
- 24:05Speaker 1: They're nuts. They got those weirdo dudes and white suits
- 24:08Speaker 1: jumping around. I was talking about Neeland Stadium, Knoxville. It's massive.
- 24:13Speaker 1: They played Rocky Top so many times that you just
- 24:16Speaker 1: leave that place singing it and you're like, I wish
- 24:17Speaker 1: I could stop singing it.
- 24:18Speaker 5: But that is a dynamic place to play.
- 24:21Speaker 1: What would you list your top three home field advantages
- 24:25Speaker 1: in the SEC?
- 24:27Speaker 11: Great question, Man, lsu at night is number one. Number
- 24:34Speaker 11: two to me. When things are going well and it's
- 24:38Speaker 11: rocking Florida the Swamp, that place gets really really loud.
- 24:45Speaker 10: I was at a game there is an afternoon game.
- 24:47Speaker 11: Even it was between Auburn I think was in the
- 24:50Speaker 11: top five of the POINT and Florida was kind of
- 24:53Speaker 11: on the borerline there. This was about like six seven
- 24:55Speaker 11: years ago. It's the loudest environment I've ever been in anywhere.
- 24:59Speaker 11: I couldn't believe it. I've been to several games there
- 25:01Speaker 11: that one was insane, and then third, I'll go out
- 25:05Speaker 11: on a limb here and say, it's either Tennessee at
- 25:09Speaker 11: night when they're rolling, or WILLIAMS. Brice Stadium at South
- 25:13Speaker 11: Carolina at night. Sandstorm gets in your head just as
- 25:17Speaker 11: much as Rocky Top, and that place gets noisy whenever
- 25:22Speaker 11: they see any semblance of fight from their team and
- 25:25Speaker 11: they've got an opportunity to upset someone. So for me,
- 25:28Speaker 11: it's those four but to tie at number three between
- 25:32Speaker 11: Tennessee and South Carolina.
- 25:33Speaker 1: And when he says at night, everybody, he means when
- 25:35Speaker 1: they're drunk. I mean that's what They've had a lot
- 25:39Speaker 1: of time to loosen up. And I just mean, but yeah,
- 25:42Speaker 1: LSU at night and floor, I mean they are, they're
- 25:44Speaker 1: it's uncomfortable loud where you think I can't be that
- 25:47Speaker 1: ld but like it almost hurts, right.
- 25:49Speaker 11: Yes, yeah, definitely, And like LSU is just there's no
- 25:54Speaker 11: atmosphere like LSU in the entire country because they they
- 25:58Speaker 11: get they get wet, and last throughout the day at
- 26:01Speaker 11: the tailgates. And it's the only place really in America
- 26:03Speaker 11: where you've heard horror stories of teams riding in on
- 26:07Speaker 11: buses and the fans surrounding the buses that are coming in.
- 26:11Speaker 11: Once they park, they start shaking the buses and rocking
- 26:14Speaker 11: them back and forth. It's a very, very volatile atmosphere.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Okay, let's talk about annoying day games. There was one
- 26:21Speaker 1: this week, the Penn State Ohio State game. It was
- 26:25Speaker 1: at Penn State because the big neon kickoff, it had
- 26:27Speaker 1: to happen at well noon. That was stupid that it
- 26:30Speaker 1: was a day game, do you agree?
- 26:33Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 26:33Speaker 11: But TV rules the world, and at this point it
- 26:36Speaker 11: doesn't matter if a game's on in prime time for
- 26:38Speaker 11: it to be their quote unquote big game, especially if
- 26:40Speaker 11: Fox has got the first selection because their games are
- 26:42Speaker 11: going to be at big noon and they had that
- 26:44Speaker 11: one spot to be able.
- 26:45Speaker 10: To fill this week.
- 26:47Speaker 11: But yeah, it makes you wonder like if the bigger
- 26:49Speaker 11: games of the of the weekend, it almost seemingly we
- 26:52Speaker 11: should just always put those at night, right. But college
- 26:54Speaker 11: football has changed so much in the last fifteen years
- 26:57Speaker 11: when it comes from a TV perspective. You know, I
- 26:59Speaker 11: still hear a lot of whole old heads going what
- 27:01Speaker 11: you know, even for some games, going, why is this
- 27:03Speaker 11: game being played at at night?
- 27:05Speaker 10: It's a bad game.
- 27:06Speaker 11: It's like, well, because they've got so many time slots
- 27:09Speaker 11: to feel that they're moving things around, and it's all
- 27:11Speaker 11: about hitting the dynamic of not having a lot of
- 27:14Speaker 11: head to head competition in certain hours, and let's put
- 27:17Speaker 11: this crappy game here, and let's put this top tier
- 27:19Speaker 11: game here. It doesn't really much matter depending on the
- 27:23Speaker 11: network that's selection, and with all the major networks involved
- 27:27Speaker 11: at this point, it's just if we get the biggest game,
- 27:29Speaker 11: we're gonna put them in their top time slid for
- 27:31Speaker 11: Fox it's noon.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I feel like that game could have gone Penn State's
- 27:36Speaker 1: way had it been a night game.
- 27:37Speaker 5: And I understand the dynamics of the telephone.
- 27:39Speaker 11: Hey listen, I disagree with that. You know why, because
- 27:42Speaker 11: Penn State is just Penn State. Penn State has become
- 27:46Speaker 11: Penn State's become Iowa with different colors. I mean, they
- 27:50Speaker 11: just look so conservative and uncomfortable in big time situations.
- 27:55Speaker 11: Penn State had two opportunities inside the five yard line
- 27:59Speaker 11: and they got stuck every single time, four straight times
- 28:02Speaker 11: on one possession. Nothing creative down near the goal line
- 28:05Speaker 11: to be able to punch it in. I mean, the
- 28:07Speaker 11: only creative thing we saw was they motioned an offensive
- 28:10Speaker 11: linemen across the formation just so he could block, Like,
- 28:14Speaker 11: what are you doing? You're not going to confuse Ohio
- 28:16Speaker 11: State by doing that. And it's just not to say
- 28:19Speaker 11: Penn State snake bitten, but they're oh to eighteen. When
- 28:24Speaker 11: Penn State's ranked going against a top five opponent this century,
- 28:28Speaker 11: it's not just a James Franklin problem.
- 28:30Speaker 10: It's a Penn State problem. Joe Paterno was.
- 28:33Speaker 11: Having the same issues. But the difference between I know
- 28:36Speaker 11: I'm joking here when I say Penn State's like Iowa
- 28:39Speaker 11: in a lot of ways, but there is one big
- 28:41Speaker 11: difference here. Unlike Iowa, Penn State's got the talent to
- 28:45Speaker 11: face an Ohio State or in Michigan year to year.
- 28:49Speaker 10: Iowa doesn't.
- 28:50Speaker 11: And Iowa plays conservatively because they have to do that
- 28:54Speaker 11: to dictate the tempo, to give their talent a chance
- 28:56Speaker 11: to contend against the better talent. Penn State's got equal to,
- 29:00Speaker 11: maybe just a little bit below talent in Ohio State,
- 29:03Speaker 11: and yet they feel like they have to be conservative
- 29:05Speaker 11: to be able to win games.
- 29:06Speaker 10: No, let it all fly.
- 29:08Speaker 11: You're playing at home in front of the biggest crowd
- 29:10Speaker 11: in your stadium's history, one hundred eleven thousand people, and
- 29:13Speaker 11: you get to the goal line and you run it
- 29:15Speaker 11: four straight times?
- 29:16Speaker 10: What are you doing?
- 29:17Speaker 1: I would still say, and I agree, but I would
- 29:19Speaker 1: still say that crowd at night helping the defense. I
- 29:23Speaker 1: think that's a two to three point swin and Penn
- 29:26Speaker 1: State's up ten zero. I thought it was like, here
- 29:27Speaker 1: we go, baby, this is about to be and it wasn't.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And they they you're right. They bombed and they got tight,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and when you play tight, you don't win. I feel
- 29:35Speaker 1: bad for James Franklin. Did you you saw him arguing
- 29:38Speaker 1: with the fan after the game.
- 29:41Speaker 11: Yeah, he's got to stop doing that. It's not the
- 29:42Speaker 11: first time he's done that, by the way, in previous years.
- 29:46Speaker 11: You just can't do that. Don't get into the fans.
- 29:49Speaker 11: That's why they're paying you a lot of money, is
- 29:50Speaker 11: to take that criticism and just let it roll off
- 29:52Speaker 11: your back.
- 29:53Speaker 10: That's what the money's for.
- 29:54Speaker 11: As they say in mad Men, that's not a good look,
- 29:57Speaker 11: and it's only going to add fuel to the fire
- 29:59Speaker 11: for Pea but wanting him out there, which is ludicrous
- 30:02Speaker 11: to begin with, considering all the games he wins. And
- 30:04Speaker 11: also Penn State's most likely still going to go in
- 30:07Speaker 11: the playoff this year and has a chance to make
- 30:10Speaker 11: a run there. So he just needs to let that
- 30:12Speaker 11: stuff roll off his back. Otherwise you're gonna put yourself
- 30:14Speaker 11: in a situation where it's not just a war of words.
- 30:17Speaker 11: What happens now that fans know they can get a
- 30:19Speaker 11: rise out of you by yelling at you. What all
- 30:22Speaker 11: it takes is one fan to say something really crazier
- 30:24Speaker 11: or like bump into you, and then all of a sudden,
- 30:26Speaker 11: we have a bigger situation here with all these cell
- 30:29Speaker 11: phone cameras out there.
- 30:29Speaker 10: So just just let it roll off your back. Go
- 30:31Speaker 10: in the tunnel, go to the locker room.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I feel like Penn State and Indiana. Indiana's still undefeated.
- 30:36Speaker 1: It's amazing. I think Signette's actually creating a new bar
- 30:40Speaker 1: for first year coaches, much like there have been a
- 30:42Speaker 1: couple of rookie quarterbacks, just like c. J. Stroud did
- 30:45Speaker 1: right like he shows up with the Texans and now
- 30:46Speaker 1: they're like, well, all rookies need to be pretty good.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I think Signette's doing that because he brought over some
- 30:50Speaker 1: of the JMU guys. He's the first time ever Indiana's undefeated.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I either're nine to zero at this point, maybe I
- 30:55Speaker 1: think nine to o. But they haven't played anybody. Penn
- 30:57Speaker 1: State hasn't beat anybody. And when I mean that, they
- 31:00Speaker 1: haven't beat anybody with a number beside their name, Like,
- 31:03Speaker 1: how will that affect either one of those teams going
- 31:05Speaker 1: into either the Big Ten Championship or the College Football Playoff?
- 31:09Speaker 10: It's a great question.
- 31:10Speaker 11: I think what's really going to be interesting here is
- 31:13Speaker 11: most recently here with the first release of the CFP rankings.
- 31:17Speaker 11: How does that affect them in the selection Committee's eyes?
- 31:20Speaker 11: Where is Indiana in those rankings? Where is Penn State?
- 31:23Speaker 11: Is Indiana above Penn State and the College Football Playoff rankings?
- 31:28Speaker 11: Probably not, because they're going to talk about strength of schedule,
- 31:30Speaker 11: and as you said, Indiana hasn't beaten anybody with a
- 31:33Speaker 11: number beside their name really at this point in the year.
- 31:36Speaker 11: But Indiana has won every game by fourteen points or more.
- 31:40Speaker 11: I mean, hell, they gave Michigan State a ten point
- 31:44Speaker 11: jump start this past week and then scored forty seven
- 31:47Speaker 11: unanswered to win forty seven to ten.
- 31:49Speaker 10: And you're right.
- 31:50Speaker 11: I mean, Signetty's done an incredible job there and has.
- 31:53Speaker 10: Set the bar.
- 31:54Speaker 11: But I will say this, don't be thinking you can
- 31:57Speaker 11: reach that bar if you're a first year coach anywhere else.
- 32:00Speaker 11: Signetti's special. I mean there might be some bars out there.
- 32:03Speaker 11: You might be drinking yourself to death if you think
- 32:06Speaker 11: you can repeat what Signetti's doing in this first year
- 32:08Speaker 11: somewhere else.
- 32:09Speaker 10: Because what he's doing is magical.
- 32:11Speaker 11: But also he's been telling us to expect this right
- 32:14Speaker 11: throughout the preseason. He said, google me everywhere I go.
- 32:16Speaker 11: I win. He knows how to coach, he knows how
- 32:18Speaker 11: to build a roster more importantly, and get the best
- 32:22Speaker 11: out of him. Brought all those James Madison guys, and listen,
- 32:25Speaker 11: those James Madison guys are obviously very good, but they
- 32:28Speaker 11: weren't like highly recruited guys or people that just popped.
- 32:32Speaker 11: I mean even several of those guys he brought on
- 32:34Speaker 11: with from James Madison. We're only really getting Power five,
- 32:38Speaker 11: lower tier Power five offers in the transfer portal this
- 32:41Speaker 11: pass offseason. Signetti just loves those guys with the chips
- 32:45Speaker 11: on their shoulders. I mean, their top receiver right now
- 32:47Speaker 11: was a guy playing D two football.
- 32:49Speaker 10: Just a few years ago. He's just built different.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Let's talk about Carson Beck. Three pretty ugly interceptions Georgia.
- 32:58Speaker 1: It took him a while. I mean I watched a
- 33:00Speaker 1: lot of that game. I thought, Wow, well, Florida actually
- 33:02Speaker 1: pulled this off. Carson Beck's draft stock probably not as
- 33:07Speaker 1: good as it was when the year started. Do we
- 33:09Speaker 1: still feel like Georgia could win the national championship? And
- 33:12Speaker 1: do we still feel like Carson Beck is elite?
- 33:16Speaker 11: Georgia can very well win the national championships? Still, they
- 33:20Speaker 11: maybe have the best talent in all of college football,
- 33:22Speaker 11: even over Ohio State. The problem though, is Carson Beck.
- 33:28Speaker 11: His stock has dropped considerably in the NFL draft, and
- 33:32Speaker 11: I think that our preseason concerns about what is he
- 33:36Speaker 11: going to do without Lad mcconkee and Brock Bauers at
- 33:38Speaker 11: receiver and tight end are now warranted. He's thrown eleven
- 33:42Speaker 11: interceptions in the last five games, back to back games
- 33:45Speaker 11: with three plus interceptions on the road, and of course
- 33:48Speaker 11: one of those was a big win at Texas. But
- 33:51Speaker 11: you're seeing the cracks and the armor there. And the
- 33:54Speaker 11: thing with Georgia though, is that they just need to
- 33:56Speaker 11: have a little bit more confidence than some of those
- 33:58Speaker 11: other receivers. I think Carson Becky gotten in his own
- 34:00Speaker 11: head a little bit and he's starting to see ghosts
- 34:02Speaker 11: a little bit because he's not trusting the players around
- 34:05Speaker 11: him when he should. And it's incredible. Carson beck has
- 34:08Speaker 11: the most interceptions by a Georgia quarterback since Aaron Murray
- 34:12Speaker 11: was a quarterback back in twenty eleven, so it spent
- 34:15Speaker 11: thirteen years of great quarterback play and now it's just
- 34:19Speaker 11: kind of above average quarterback play, and that's holding Georgia
- 34:22Speaker 11: back a little bit. I think Florida would have beaten
- 34:26Speaker 11: Georgia this past week if DJ Lagway, Florida's quarterback doesn't
- 34:30Speaker 11: get injured in the second quarter and has to be
- 34:32Speaker 11: pulled and they have to bring in a walk on
- 34:34Speaker 11: from Yale to be quarterback there. This is a one
- 34:36Speaker 11: possession game in the fourth quarter, and Florida was obviously
- 34:40Speaker 11: leading still at halftime as well when Lagway went out.
- 34:43Speaker 11: So Georgia does have some issues, but that defense is
- 34:47Speaker 11: just so damn good that they're going to be able
- 34:49Speaker 11: to beat anybody else on the schedule. It's just you
- 34:51Speaker 11: can't allow Carson Beck to throw three interceptions on the
- 34:55Speaker 11: road down the line, because they got a big, gigantic
- 34:57Speaker 11: one this week at Old Miss.
- 34:59Speaker 10: Ole.
- 34:59Speaker 11: Miss is a dangerous team that is desperate. They have
- 35:02Speaker 11: to beat Georgia to stay alive in the playoff race
- 35:05Speaker 11: with two losses already, and that's a dangerous spot going
- 35:08Speaker 11: into Oxford against a desperate team that can score a
- 35:11Speaker 11: lot of points.
- 35:12Speaker 5: Got two final questions.
- 35:13Speaker 1: My first question I started with a statement, I'm so
- 35:15Speaker 1: glad to see Clems and lose dat Dabbo. I don't
- 35:19Speaker 1: hate him as a person, He's just annoying to me.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So the fictional version of him, I'm just annoyed by
- 35:24Speaker 1: all the time. So I was so happy to see
- 35:26Speaker 1: them lose to Louisville. So, okay, Miami wins and there
- 35:29Speaker 1: were some real nutty plays. They just continue to win
- 35:32Speaker 1: though SMU wins. Can SMU beat Miami and win the ACC.
- 35:39Speaker 10: Yes.
- 35:39Speaker 11: Because of the ground game, the way they're able to
- 35:41Speaker 11: run the ball, and their defensive line, they're able to
- 35:43Speaker 11: stop the run considerably well. They were going into this
- 35:47Speaker 11: game in the top three nationally and rush defense if
- 35:50Speaker 11: I recall, and they slowed Pitt down, jumped all over them.
- 35:53Speaker 11: The difference for SMU here of late has really been
- 35:56Speaker 11: Kevin Jennings a quarterback. They inserted him as a starter.
- 35:58Speaker 11: I think after Week three and at that BYU loss,
- 36:01Speaker 11: they lost by three, and they have really turned things
- 36:03Speaker 11: around and they're finding their identity offensively, which is a
- 36:06Speaker 11: run first team that can hit the big play down
- 36:09Speaker 11: the field. And then also defensively, they're just really good.
- 36:12Speaker 11: The good thing for SMU is that it's an incredible story.
- 36:16Speaker 11: You know, they're undefeated in the ACC right now. Last
- 36:19Speaker 11: year they were a group of five team right and
- 36:22Speaker 11: they only had fourteen months from the day they found
- 36:25Speaker 11: out they were going to join the ACC to join
- 36:28Speaker 11: and then started the season to prepare their roster. So
- 36:31Speaker 11: what did they do? R At Lashley went out and
- 36:33Speaker 11: got thirteen offensive or defensive linemen in the portal, all
- 36:38Speaker 11: of them with playing experience at a power conference team.
- 36:41Speaker 11: They built the depth up and that's helped them. They've
- 36:44Speaker 11: had to deal with injuries, but because of that depth
- 36:46Speaker 11: they built up, they're able to.
- 36:48Speaker 10: Contend in the ACC.
- 36:49Speaker 11: And I most definitely think they could give Miami some problems,
- 36:52Speaker 11: because a lot of teams have given Miami problems. It's
- 36:55Speaker 11: just that cam Ward, their quarterback, is an absolute magician
- 36:59Speaker 11: and puts his foot down on the throat of everybody
- 37:01Speaker 11: in the fourth quarter, and they're able to pull away
- 37:03Speaker 11: in games. SMUs built a little bit different.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Final question, This is a purely hypothetical. I'd like to
- 37:08Speaker 1: say it again. It is so hypothetical that I am
- 37:10Speaker 1: floating on a cloud riding a unicorn. That's how hypothetical
- 37:13Speaker 1: that this question is. Okay, let's just say the University
- 37:18Speaker 1: of Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman retires at the end
- 37:20Speaker 1: of this year. You know, he's got a bad hip,
- 37:22Speaker 1: He's had a good run. Nobody wants to see him
- 37:25Speaker 1: get fired. But again, the program, hypothetically not really, So
- 37:29Speaker 1: we're riding the unicorn right now.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Who do you think Arkansas's first call would be to
- 37:32Speaker 5: Rehd Lashley or Baryotem.
- 37:34Speaker 11: I think it'd probably be bary otom because of the
- 37:36Speaker 11: connection there that's already established between Hunter Yurchik the ad
- 37:41Speaker 11: and obviously bary Odam being the defensive cornerator previously at
- 37:44Speaker 11: Arkansas and has sec at coaching experience with man Zoo,
- 37:46Speaker 11: I think he'd probably be the first call. I think
- 37:49Speaker 11: Gret Lashly would definitely be up there too. I have
- 37:53Speaker 11: my own opinions on who they should hire.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Feel free to give it. We're an opinion based opportunity
- 37:58Speaker 5: right here.
- 38:00Speaker 11: Oh, I'd hire Ret Lashley in a moment, Arkansas guy
- 38:03Speaker 11: gets the program. I think, I don't know what his
- 38:06Speaker 11: thinking is. Really that's a dream job for him. I mean,
- 38:11Speaker 11: this guy grew up a Razorbacks fan, went to school there,
- 38:15Speaker 11: and I think he would probably jump at the opportunity
- 38:18Speaker 11: if it's right financially, the NIL situation, the recruiting aspect
- 38:24Speaker 11: of it, and right. Lashley just wins everywhere he goes.
- 38:27Speaker 11: I think he's perfectly built as a head coach in
- 38:30Speaker 11: this new era with NIL and revenue sharing. I think
- 38:34Speaker 11: he'd be a great hire there. I do wonder the
- 38:37Speaker 11: Arkansas Boosters how they would see the potential of hiring
- 38:41Speaker 11: another SMU head coach, Morris, I think, but the two
- 38:47Speaker 11: are not related, obviously. It's just that they couldn't be
- 38:50Speaker 11: further apart, especially with the way the programs have been
- 38:52Speaker 11: built in separate ways. So he'd be the guy i'd
- 38:56Speaker 11: hire absolutely, he'd be the guy.
- 38:59Speaker 5: Right a unicle.
- 39:00Speaker 1: That's all. It's a completely hypothetical rite in a unicorn situation.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I'd just like to say that again. Brandon Marcelo, you
- 39:05Speaker 1: guys follow Brandon at Brandon Marcelo or at B Marcelo.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Excuse me, but I follow you on Instagram too? Is
- 39:11Speaker 1: your Instagram? B Marcelo as well? Can I just have
- 39:13Speaker 1: your Twitter?
- 39:14Speaker 10: Yeah, it's just it's Brandon Marcelo on Instagram.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Okay, so B Marcelo on Twitter, but Brandon Marcelo on Instagram.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Follow Brandon. He is my absolute favorite writer and all
- 39:22Speaker 1: of college football. Brandy, good to see you, and we'll
- 39:24Speaker 1: talk to you again next week.
- 39:25Speaker 10: All right, see you, Bobby A right?
- 39:26Speaker 5: See body?
- 39:27Speaker 1: All right? A new segment called oddly Numbered List. I
- 39:29Speaker 1: make a list and I I don't commit to a
- 39:31Speaker 1: number like top five, top ten. Oh cool.
- 39:34Speaker 5: This is an oddly numbered list.
- 39:36Speaker 1: And my oddly numbered list this week are sports personalities
- 39:41Speaker 1: that are awesome, and there are nine of them. It's
- 39:45Speaker 1: an oddly number. It's odd number. Okay, So I call
- 39:47Speaker 1: it an oddly numbered list, and I'm gonna start at
- 39:49Speaker 1: number one. And the reason this list is what it is.
- 39:53Speaker 1: It's one how much time I spend with him now,
- 39:55Speaker 1: not personally. Some of them don't know I exist, but
- 39:57Speaker 1: I listen to them. How much time I invested to
- 39:59Speaker 1: them as a kid. Some of them that factors in
- 40:01Speaker 1: and if, like something big and sports happens, so I
- 40:04Speaker 1: go in search what they have to say, Like that's
- 40:06Speaker 1: the ranking system for my oddly numbered lists, and we're
- 40:10Speaker 1: gonna start at number one, And at number one sports
- 40:13Speaker 1: personalities that I love and depend on, I'm going Rich Eisen.
- 40:17Speaker 1: He's awesome for a few reasons. One, he's awesome too,
- 40:19Speaker 1: he's awesome. Three, he's awesome. That's all I needed, nothing
- 40:21Speaker 1: else good, Like young loved him on Sports Center. Now
- 40:26Speaker 1: I've got to fill in on a show. Didn't even
- 40:28Speaker 1: meet him when I filled in on a show because
- 40:30Speaker 1: he was gone. Obviously, it's not like he's gonna be
- 40:31Speaker 1: there to meet me when I fill in on a show.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Otherwise he could do his own show. But he let
- 40:34Speaker 1: me fill in for a couple of days. We have
- 40:37Speaker 1: talked to him on this show a couple of times.
- 40:39Speaker 1: He's been to my house. We went to dinner with them.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Like he works for NFL Network, so like he's got insides,
- 40:44Speaker 1: even if he acts like he does it like you'll
- 40:46Speaker 1: have opinions, and I know, like you know this because
- 40:48Speaker 1: you know this. It's not even because like you're just
- 40:50Speaker 1: speculating this. Number one Rich Eisen. Number two Colin Cowherd.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I listened to Colin Cowherd probably three days week. I
- 41:01Speaker 1: listened to the best of Colin Cowherd, which is the
- 41:04Speaker 1: boiled down version of like his four hour show. Maybe
- 41:07Speaker 1: it's a three hour show. I'm not sure, so it's
- 41:09Speaker 1: like forty five minutes. It just like he and I
- 41:11Speaker 1: love them. He comes on with a big monologue and
- 41:13Speaker 1: it's great, and he has big opinions. And he he
- 41:16Speaker 1: said to me once, he was like, it doesn't matter
- 41:19Speaker 1: if you're right or not. Just be entertaining. And I
- 41:22Speaker 1: was like, that's awesome because he has a lot of
- 41:24Speaker 1: opinions and he's probably wrong a lot of times, but
- 41:26Speaker 1: who cares. He's like, who cares? Just have big opinions
- 41:29Speaker 1: that entertaining to people. Who cares if you're right, Just
- 41:31Speaker 1: have opinions. And number two Colin Cowherd and number three
- 41:36Speaker 1: Dan Patrick, much like rich Eisen earlier, spending a lot
- 41:41Speaker 1: of time with Dan Patrick as a kid watching Sports Center,
- 41:46Speaker 1: Dan Patrick's television show that also exists now, as does
- 41:51Speaker 1: his radio show, and like the dan Ettes, Like, I'm
- 41:54Speaker 1: a fan and I would watch the television show when
- 41:56Speaker 1: my hours were a bit different, I would watch television
- 41:58Speaker 1: show all the time. I remember that af simulator in
- 42:00Speaker 1: his studio and they had a basketball court.
- 42:04Speaker 6: It is awesome.
- 42:05Speaker 5: I was like, man, I wanted to do that some day.
- 42:07Speaker 1: And so I have a golf simulator like in the
- 42:08Speaker 1: studio at home. So yeah, Dan Patrick. I just also
- 42:13Speaker 1: like his interview style. I think he's the most famous.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yeah all yeah, yeah, because movies like Sandler movies. Dan
- 42:26Speaker 1: Patrick is at number three and catchphrases right, he had
- 42:29Speaker 1: to catch raight in Fuego. You know that's Damn Patrick, right,
- 42:33Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 5: You know you're too young.
- 42:36Speaker 6: That was gonna say you're too young.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, shut up, you're too young. Yeah yeah, it's
- 42:43Speaker 1: just right. It's just getting me to move on. And
- 42:46Speaker 1: number three on my Oddly Numbered list is Dan Patrick.
- 42:50Speaker 1: At number four are the guys from Part of My Take,
- 42:53Speaker 1: which is a podcast that I listened to. It's on barstool,
- 42:56Speaker 1: and they have really no background in playing sports. They're
- 43:03Speaker 1: just funny and Bigcat and PFT, which, by the way,
- 43:08Speaker 1: he was known because he just wrote so many comments
- 43:11Speaker 1: on the message board of Pro Football Talk that he
- 43:14Speaker 1: that's how they found him. He would just write funny
- 43:16Speaker 1: messages in the comment.
- 43:17Speaker 6: Section like stupid comments or yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Whatever, yeah yeah, but uh they Monday, Wednesday, Friday. There.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I probably listened to two out of the three of
- 43:26Speaker 1: their episodes, not fully Gonna fall asleep, because I listened
- 43:27Speaker 1: to at night when I go to sleep. I never
- 43:29Speaker 1: heard the back of anybody's podcast. By the way, I
- 43:31Speaker 1: always fall as any of them. An it's it's the
- 43:35Speaker 1: difference because my wife when we married, I watched television
- 43:39Speaker 1: every night falling asleep because I slept with the TV on.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Never had a bedroom, so slept in the living room.
- 43:43Speaker 1: TV was always on, so I always slept with the
- 43:45Speaker 1: TV on even as I so that compromise them that
- 43:48Speaker 1: my wife was. I just listened to a podcast. Now
- 43:50Speaker 1: I listened under my pillow. So they are they're at
- 43:54Speaker 1: number four because they're very entertaining. Number five Bill Simmons.
- 43:59Speaker 7: Ye.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Yeah. When it comes to NBA, nobody is better than
- 44:02Speaker 1: Bill Simmons. Also, just like his story of like blog
- 44:06Speaker 1: being a Boston guy blogging doing grant Land, you know
- 44:12Speaker 1: esp and pop culture, the meshing and melding of pop
- 44:14Speaker 1: culture and sports. Going to start the Ringer selling the
- 44:17Speaker 1: Ringer like mogul and also have friends that work for him,
- 44:22Speaker 1: two of them one still does, my brother in law.
- 44:26Speaker 1: So Bill Simmons is at number five on my list.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Number six Ryan Roussillo who now works for Bill Simmons
- 44:35Speaker 1: at the Ringer again massive NBA guy, but also Ryan Rosseillo,
- 44:39Speaker 1: him and Van Pelt used to do a show together
- 44:40Speaker 1: way back in the day on ESPN Radio that I
- 44:42Speaker 1: listened to. I listened to Rosillo and learn a lot
- 44:49Speaker 1: of what to watch on my NBA Sunday ticket because
- 44:52Speaker 1: I have Sunday ticket for NBA. Yeah, it's also called
- 44:54Speaker 1: lead pass. Yeah that's it.
- 44:55Speaker 5: Yeah. So Rosillo is six.
- 45:00Speaker 1: STP's at seven Scott Vanpel and here's why I never
- 45:03Speaker 1: miss a Sunday SVP podcast because it's the he's the
- 45:07Speaker 1: only person who puts out a podcast on Sunday because
- 45:09Speaker 1: he does it right after the games on Saturday night.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Now mcshaye does that. Who we're gonna have on a
- 45:13Speaker 1: little bit. Yeah, But Scott Vanpel and Stanford Steve do
- 45:16Speaker 1: a podcast after all the college games on Saturday night
- 45:19Speaker 1: so they can talk about it, and they have it
- 45:20Speaker 1: up for Sunday, and so on Sunday when I'm going
- 45:23Speaker 1: to sleep, nobody's put out a new episode. So I
- 45:25Speaker 1: listen to that on Sunday night. So I listened to
- 45:27Speaker 1: SVP ever and also he was Sports Center, you know,
- 45:31Speaker 1: next Generation, and he does a live TV like after
- 45:34Speaker 1: Monday night football, right yeah.
- 45:35Speaker 6: Every Sports Center.
- 45:37Speaker 5: Yeah, it's SVP Center or whatever it is.
- 45:39Speaker 6: And he's like the only OG still around.
- 45:41Speaker 1: But I don't think he's Oh, he's not. Oh, he's
- 45:44Speaker 1: like m he's like an MG. But Kevin's younger, but
- 45:47Speaker 1: he's not an OG just because you're younger. You can't
- 45:49Speaker 1: say who the ogs them is the middle Yeah, he's
- 45:51Speaker 1: a middle G.
- 45:52Speaker 8: Like you don't put him the same like Timeline as
- 45:55Speaker 8: the rich Ision' the same.
- 45:57Speaker 2: That's like Stuart Scott, right, yeah, that's the Richison stuff.
- 46:00Speaker 1: That's he's not. Oh, And you could look this up
- 46:03Speaker 1: and see when he came on. But the o's are Berman,
- 46:07Speaker 1: Dan Patrick, Isaenc came a bit. Craig Kilbourne was an OE.
- 46:12Speaker 6: I don't even remember the Killbourn.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Exactly, so shut up, got him, didn't I for who?
- 46:21Speaker 6: Van Pelt?
- 46:22Speaker 1: Yeah? Van Pelt?
- 46:23Speaker 5: And then when did like Dan Patrick come on an OG?
- 46:28Speaker 5: He's an MG though he's the biggest MG.
- 46:30Speaker 6: He's like a middle of the O M and OG.
- 46:33Speaker 1: You can't fight for that. He's an MG.
- 46:36Speaker 6: I think he's like a middle OG.
- 46:38Speaker 1: He's a middle G. It's okay, guys, you both can
- 46:40Speaker 1: be right.
- 46:41Speaker 5: No, I'm right. He cannot declare he's an OG. Mike
- 46:44Speaker 5: dann Patrick was eighty nine.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a big difference in eighty nine two thousand
- 46:47Speaker 1: and one. That's a big difference. Okay, that's number seven
- 46:50Speaker 1: SVP number eight. Nick Wright, who is one of the
- 46:54Speaker 1: smartest guys in all of talking about sports period. He
- 46:59Speaker 1: comes out, he get says to and I'm like, dang,
- 47:00Speaker 1: I thought that I just didn't even notice say it
- 47:02Speaker 1: like that. Like he is. He works at Fox Sports,
- 47:05Speaker 1: he does the television show neck Wright is really really smart,
- 47:10Speaker 1: like probably too smart talk about sports.
- 47:11Speaker 8: He is a weird way of growing on you. Yep,
- 47:13Speaker 8: Like at first you're like, who is this guy? And
- 47:15Speaker 8: then you listen to me, you're like, actually he's right.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Yeah, or you're like wow, he's way smarter than I am.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Like a challenge him to a fistfight, because he says
- 47:24Speaker 1: stuff sometimes you disagree with and you're like, you know what,
- 47:26Speaker 1: I think, I've been convinced. And then finally at number nine,
- 47:29Speaker 1: new on my Oddly Numbered list because new into my
- 47:31Speaker 1: life and he's been on this show as well. But
- 47:34Speaker 1: I like to listen to him talk about football and scouting.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Is John Middlecough because he was once an NFL scout.
- 47:41Speaker 1: He scouted for the Eagles and Andy Reid and now
- 47:44Speaker 1: he does a podcast underneath the Cowherd's network. So at
- 47:48Speaker 1: number nine, John Middlecough, who also does a golf podcast.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Listen to that as much. I like to hear the
- 47:55Speaker 1: football stuff. But his is called four and out three
- 47:58Speaker 1: and out three and out three out three. Now, So
- 48:00Speaker 1: there you go. That's my Oddly Numbered list, odd number
- 48:05Speaker 1: nine nine. I know I like it. Thank you never
- 48:07Speaker 1: see another list like it. None, Wait till you see
- 48:10Speaker 1: the other numbers.
- 48:10Speaker 5: I'm gonna come the one, twenty two, one day.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Whoa your all day?
- 48:15Speaker 5: Anybody you put on the list.
- 48:17Speaker 8: Those are all tops for me. I just say Bill
- 48:20Speaker 8: Simmons were still I listened to a lot. I also
- 48:22Speaker 8: listened to Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah Moved the Sticks.
- 48:25Speaker 6: That's a big one that I listened to.
- 48:26Speaker 1: I don't know them. Are they good?
- 48:28Speaker 8: Yeah, they're like I've heard the commercial for it, Yeah,
- 48:30Speaker 8: NFL Draft six Draft and like what network?
- 48:33Speaker 6: NFL network.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Oh so they're in an NFL yeah Podcastyeah.
- 48:36Speaker 8: They both work for and they're very like it's much
- 48:38Speaker 8: more like deep analysis of players and teams and rather
- 48:41Speaker 8: than like opinionated.
- 48:43Speaker 1: I love opinions even if they're not right, even if
- 48:46Speaker 1: they're not right, as long as they're entertaining. Okay, now
- 48:49Speaker 1: let's get over you want, Mike, you wanna go to
- 48:51Speaker 1: commercial first? Yeah, it's good commercial. Okay, we're gonna come
- 48:54Speaker 1: back with Todd mcshae. All right, all right, here is
- 48:57Speaker 1: longtime NFL draft analyst Todd mcshae. He has a new
- 49:00Speaker 1: podcast called The McShay Show, where it's just in depth
- 49:04Speaker 1: on I've been listening and watching and I'll tell him this.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I found out on TikTok. I was like, oh mihe
- 49:08Speaker 1: does a show. Now, this is cool, but he does.
- 49:12Speaker 1: I mean, it's a lot of football, and I would
- 49:14Speaker 1: say he obviously talks about how good players are and
- 49:17Speaker 1: possibly the draft, but he does more than just that.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I think, because I know him from that, I only
- 49:21Speaker 1: associate him with that right now, Yeah, meaning the draft stuff.
- 49:24Speaker 1: But it's a really good show. You can follow him
- 49:26Speaker 1: on Twitter at micshay thirteen. But again it's called The
- 49:30Speaker 1: McShay Show. And here he is, Todd McShay. Hey, Todd,
- 49:34Speaker 1: big fan, Glad to have you on the show. Thanks
- 49:36Speaker 1: for spending a few minutes with us.
- 49:38Speaker 4: Of course, how you doing, man good?
- 49:39Speaker 1: You know, I kind of discovered your new venture, like
- 49:43Speaker 1: I discovered everything in the whole world now on TikTok
- 49:45Speaker 1: and I was like, damn, sche's doing a podcast now
- 49:47Speaker 1: and then it's all with Bill and Ringer and so
- 49:49Speaker 1: congratulations because I'm already a fan. It just feels like
- 49:53Speaker 1: when it comes to college and NFL, you're pretty dialed
- 49:55Speaker 1: into both. How's the transition been.
- 49:58Speaker 4: It's been fun. It's you know, it's it's not what
- 50:01Speaker 4: I expected. You know, I was with ESPN for seventeen
- 50:04Speaker 4: years and you know, kind of developed my career and
- 50:09Speaker 4: through the NFL Draft and then doing college games for
- 50:11Speaker 4: about twelve years on the sideline as a sideline analyst,
- 50:15Speaker 4: and so when when that relationship ended, let's put it
- 50:18Speaker 4: that way, I wasn't sure where, you know, what the
- 50:21Speaker 4: next step was. So I kind of interviewed and talked
- 50:24Speaker 4: to like nine different places and finally found a home
- 50:27Speaker 4: and it feels right with Spotify and the Ringer, And
- 50:31Speaker 4: I always said, like, if I'm gonna do it, if
- 50:33Speaker 4: I'm gonna come back, I just want to do it
- 50:36Speaker 4: my way, with my people, handcuffs off, and just be
- 50:41Speaker 4: able to share more of the process, right, like not
- 50:44Speaker 4: just ninety second clips with video over it, and with
- 50:47Speaker 4: the producer in my year telling me you know when
- 50:50Speaker 4: to wrap up. And I'm sure you can relate to this,
- 50:54Speaker 4: Like there's something freeing about just being yourself with your people,
- 50:59Speaker 4: being able to go on and if it lasts fifty minutes, great,
- 51:02Speaker 4: if it lasts ninety minutes, great, But be able to
- 51:05Speaker 4: just kind of be authentically you without any restriction. So
- 51:07Speaker 4: that that part has been a blast. It's only two
- 51:09Speaker 4: weeks old. But the McShay show, you know, so far,
- 51:12Speaker 4: so good, I think, and we're having a lot of fun.
- 51:14Speaker 4: I know that.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, And something you said there resonates because obviously,
- 51:18Speaker 1: like I hired all my friends we've been doing this
- 51:20Speaker 1: for a long time. But it's the little things too, like,
- 51:22Speaker 1: for example, the Richmond Spiders helmet that's behind you and
- 51:25Speaker 1: I watched clips. I'll listen to the podcast, and I
- 51:27Speaker 1: was like, okay, I've watched Macshae do draft analysis forever.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I've watched you do, but like, I didn't know your story,
- 51:32Speaker 1: but that helmet made me look into I had no
- 51:35Speaker 1: idea that did you walk on at Richmond in like
- 51:37Speaker 1: ninety five? Is that?
- 51:38Speaker 5: Is that what it is?
- 51:40Speaker 4: Yeah? So I was a a I came from a
- 51:42Speaker 4: small town Swapscott in Massachusetts. Right, football is not it's
- 51:46Speaker 4: not a hotbed. It's not Georgia, Florida, Texas, California, and
- 51:50Speaker 4: wound up a coach Jim Reid, who coached Umassed for
- 51:55Speaker 4: a long time, brought a bunch of he was, you know,
- 51:58Speaker 4: in Massachusetts before to Boston College. When he got the
- 52:01Speaker 4: head coaching job at Richmond, h brought a bunch of
- 52:04Speaker 4: massholes down to Richmond, Virginia, and that was kind of
- 52:06Speaker 4: a culture shock for all of us. But I was
- 52:10Speaker 4: a preferred walk on, and I came to realize what
- 52:13Speaker 4: preferred meant was like, yeah, you can you can come
- 52:15Speaker 4: and get a great education, but you're going to be
- 52:18Speaker 4: a tackling dummy for a while and see if you
- 52:20Speaker 4: have a chance to actually, you know, contribute to this team.
- 52:23Speaker 4: So it was a great experience. I never thought I'd
- 52:26Speaker 4: be able to play with guys like Mark Magni, Sean
- 52:28Speaker 4: Barber went onto the NFL. Uh but but but it
- 52:33Speaker 4: kind of paved the way for me. I got injured
- 52:34Speaker 4: and wound up doing an undergraduate coaching gig with University
- 52:39Speaker 4: O Richmond, and that was kind of the I don't know,
- 52:42Speaker 4: the jumping off point for me, just sitting in an
- 52:45Speaker 4: office breaking down tape, doing all these like you know,
- 52:48Speaker 4: demeaning tasks at the time, but it got my foot
- 52:51Speaker 4: in the door and it was kind of the start
- 52:53Speaker 4: of all of us.
- 52:54Speaker 1: And to your point, because you do this podcast and
- 52:56Speaker 1: you can go a bit more long form and you
- 52:57Speaker 1: can even pick the set behind you. I saw the
- 53:00Speaker 1: helmet and was like, I wonder what his relationship is
- 53:03Speaker 1: with Richmond, because again I'd only watch like you do
- 53:05Speaker 1: what you do really well on ESPN, which was you
- 53:08Speaker 1: would talk about the draft for the most part, and
- 53:10Speaker 1: you'd be the guy that I would watch a lot
- 53:11Speaker 1: of when it when it came time to actually honestly
- 53:15Speaker 1: making bets on who I thought was gonna fall were
- 53:17Speaker 1: but it was it was that and it was like
- 53:19Speaker 1: what you're doing now, which is really cool, is giving
- 53:22Speaker 1: a more look at it actually who you are. So
- 53:24Speaker 1: congratulations and I'm already a fan, so really looking forward to,
- 53:27Speaker 1: you know, the growth in the podcast space. And I
- 53:29Speaker 1: also enjoy I was listening to you talk about running
- 53:32Speaker 1: backs and how it's different than it used to be
- 53:35Speaker 1: back when we were a lot younger when they would
- 53:37Speaker 1: draft a bunch of running backs early. But there are
- 53:39Speaker 1: going to be a lot of running backs drafted early
- 53:43Speaker 1: for running backs this season, like multiple running backs. Why
- 53:45Speaker 1: do we think that is?
- 53:48Speaker 4: It's interesting, you know. Part of it is I think
- 53:51Speaker 4: just football in general is cyclical, right, and I think
- 53:55Speaker 4: we got away from the running backs when when the
- 53:57Speaker 4: spread offense came in and you started to see it
- 54:00Speaker 4: was all about wide receivers and getting guys the ball
- 54:02Speaker 4: in space, and so I think the running back position
- 54:05Speaker 4: had to evolve to guys who weren't just built like
- 54:09Speaker 4: Eddie George, you know, and thirty thirty five carries a game,
- 54:12Speaker 4: pounding it away. Running backs now are an extension of
- 54:16Speaker 4: the you know, the run games and extension of the
- 54:17Speaker 4: past game. And and they've got to be able to
- 54:21Speaker 4: catch the football and be dynamic when they get in space,
- 54:24Speaker 4: because that's what everyone's trying to do is create these opportunities.
- 54:28Speaker 4: And so as the game has evolved, the running back
- 54:31Speaker 4: position has evolved. And now we're i mean even even
- 54:34Speaker 4: turning in, you know, tune into the NFL on Sundays,
- 54:37Speaker 4: like running backs are becoming a bigger and bigger factor.
- 54:41Speaker 4: And it's not like, you know, three guys in a
- 54:43Speaker 4: committee necessarily like just you know, the vast majority of
- 54:47Speaker 4: good teams have won and something a lot of times
- 54:50Speaker 4: like two really good running backs. Look at Detroit, right,
- 54:52Speaker 4: like Jamiir Gibbs, they use a first round pick. Terrible
- 54:55Speaker 4: decision to draft a running back in the first first round.
- 54:58Speaker 4: How is Brad Holmes the GM for Tennis for Detroit gonna,
- 55:03Speaker 4: you know, going to address all the important positions when
- 55:05Speaker 4: he's using one of those first round picks on a
- 55:07Speaker 4: running back. Well, now you've got Jamir Gibbs, you've got
- 55:10Speaker 4: David Montgomery. They're kind of a two headed monster. The
- 55:13Speaker 4: running game is setting up the passing game play action
- 55:16Speaker 4: is where is where Jerry Goff feeds off of. And
- 55:19Speaker 4: so we're starting to see that evolve, and I think
- 55:21Speaker 4: in college football you see the same. And now all
- 55:24Speaker 4: of a sudden, you've got a Nashtyon Genty who nobody
- 55:26Speaker 4: nationally really knew about coming into this year and now he's,
- 55:30Speaker 4: you know, probably the front runner for the Heisman Trophy
- 55:32Speaker 4: with the number he's putting up, numbers he's putting up
- 55:34Speaker 4: along with Dylan Gabriel from from Oregon and Travis Hunter
- 55:39Speaker 4: who's playing you know, both sides of the ball and
- 55:41Speaker 4: doing historic things. So with Genty, he's going to be
- 55:44Speaker 4: a top ten pick. But even beyond that, like Quinn
- 55:47Speaker 4: Shawn Jenkins and Traveon Henderson watching that one two duel
- 55:51Speaker 4: and what they were able to do against Penn State
- 55:53Speaker 4: and what they're doing for Ohio State. O'marion, o'marion Hampton
- 55:57Speaker 4: for North Carolina is having a huge year. Chlis Singleton,
- 56:00Speaker 4: the running back for Penn State. I mean, the list
- 56:03Speaker 4: goes on and on. It's unbelievable. Trev Trevor ETN from Georgia.
- 56:07Speaker 4: Kalel Mullings, a former linebacker now running back at Michigan
- 56:11Speaker 4: having a huge year. Dylan Sampson, anyone who's a fan
- 56:14Speaker 4: of the SEC watching what he's doing for Tennessee. So
- 56:18Speaker 4: this could be a historic year. Not necessarily first round
- 56:21Speaker 4: or even first two rounds, but when we get into
- 56:24Speaker 4: like the late second, third, fourth, fifth round, it could
- 56:27Speaker 4: be the most running backs we've seen come off the
- 56:28Speaker 4: board in a long long time.
- 56:30Speaker 1: I have a heavy bias because I have a relationship
- 56:32Speaker 1: with Deon Sanders Coach Prime.
- 56:34Speaker 5: I've done it for a long time.
- 56:35Speaker 1: I love him, He's my favorite, So I love what
- 56:38Speaker 1: he's doing at Colorado. I have a heavy bias. But
- 56:40Speaker 1: I say that so too. If I ask you, how
- 56:43Speaker 1: do you feel like the it's not even an experiment anymore?
- 56:47Speaker 5: Does it feel like that?
- 56:47Speaker 1: Because he's been there long enough, how do you feel
- 56:49Speaker 1: like Coach Prime has done at Colorado?
- 56:51Speaker 4: I think it's been a massive success by any measurement.
- 56:55Speaker 4: You know, it started with his ability because of his
- 56:58Speaker 4: name and his brand and the way he promotes everything
- 57:01Speaker 4: that they do, and it turned a lot of people off.
- 57:04Speaker 4: But what it didn't do was turn off recruits from
- 57:07Speaker 4: coming and wan to play at Colorado. Colorado was one
- 57:09Speaker 4: and eleven two years ago. And we had Joel Kladd
- 57:13Speaker 4: on the show last week, and he obviously was a
- 57:16Speaker 4: three year starter at Colorado and is tied in very
- 57:20Speaker 4: well to Colorado. And I forget the number, but I
- 57:23Speaker 4: think they lost by like close to an average of
- 57:26Speaker 4: a twenty points that year when they were one and
- 57:28Speaker 4: eleven before Coach Prime came in, and so obviously the
- 57:32Speaker 4: attention they got, the commercials, the interviews, and everything that
- 57:36Speaker 4: came with it. It felt like a little bit of a
- 57:38Speaker 4: disappointment when they won what was it four games a
- 57:40Speaker 4: year ago at four or five games, but it was
- 57:43Speaker 4: still a huge turnaround from the product on the field
- 57:46Speaker 4: the year before that he was there, and this year,
- 57:50Speaker 4: the attention, like the national media has not been on
- 57:53Speaker 4: Colorado as much as it was a year ago in
- 57:55Speaker 4: the first year that he was there. This is a
- 57:58Speaker 4: damn good football team, man, Like they're they're protecting Shador
- 58:02Speaker 4: Sanders better, their defense is a lot better. Like they're
- 58:06Speaker 4: I'm not gonna sit here and say they're gonna win
- 58:08Speaker 4: the Big twelve because you got BYU playing at a
- 58:10Speaker 4: great level. You've got Kansas State, Iowa State had the
- 58:14Speaker 4: loss last week, but Colorado's in it. And when's the
- 58:17Speaker 4: last time we could say, like Colorado in November is
- 58:20Speaker 4: legitimately in the Big twelve race. So that's been phenomenal.
- 58:25Speaker 4: See the other thing too, man, I'm excited about And
- 58:27Speaker 4: I was talking to Joel Cloud about this as well.
- 58:30Speaker 4: I I think two weeks ago and one of our
- 58:33Speaker 4: first shows, I made the comment, and I believe it,
- 58:37Speaker 4: Like we have to take it seriously when Coach Prime
- 58:40Speaker 4: says I'm gonna dictate terms in the NFL draft. We've
- 58:44Speaker 4: seen it before, John Elway, we saw it with Eli Manning.
- 58:48Speaker 4: Like every once in a while, someone steps in and says,
- 58:51Speaker 4: you know what, your system doesn't apply, and I'm not
- 58:55Speaker 4: gonna allow my son to go to an organization that
- 58:57Speaker 4: has no chance of winning. You know, with David Epper
- 59:00Speaker 4: is the owner in Carolina, there's no chance he's going
- 59:03Speaker 4: to let his son go and play Carolina. There's probably
- 59:06Speaker 4: no chance he's gonna let him play in Cleveland. So
- 59:08Speaker 4: that's going to be such an interesting facet And I
- 59:11Speaker 4: also it was interesting after I put out that clip,
- 59:14Speaker 4: someone brought it to my attention that Coach Prime had
- 59:17Speaker 4: liked our you know, our video. I think it was
- 59:19Speaker 4: a video that we did on Instagram right, just like
- 59:21Speaker 4: a minute and a half clip on me talking about
- 59:23Speaker 4: how it is it is serious that coach Prime is
- 59:26Speaker 4: going to dictate terms where Shador goes and maybe even
- 59:29Speaker 4: where Travis Hunter goes. And and he liked that clip.
- 59:33Speaker 4: And I'm well aware that he's not sitting around watching
- 59:36Speaker 4: the Micshay Show in the first two weeks of you know,
- 59:38Speaker 4: it's inception, and so like the how intentional he is
- 59:42Speaker 4: with that and having someone that's scouring through social media
- 59:46Speaker 4: to find clips to help kind of promote the concept
- 59:50Speaker 4: and let everyone in the National Football League know, hey,
- 59:53Speaker 4: this is real. Like, I'm going to be a problem
- 59:55Speaker 4: for some of your organizations that want to draft my son,
- 59:58Speaker 4: and that's going to be a fascinating story to follow.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: You mentioned David Tepper, owner of Carolina. Let's stay on
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: the owners for a second. Jerry Jones, uh is I mean,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I don't know, is he too old to do this anymore?
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: It's it's hard to say that he's too old to
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: do this anymore, but I think if he if he
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: wants to help himself in the Cowboys organization, there has
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: to be a little bit more checks and balances. There's
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: got to be people in that organization that can tell
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: him no, they can have foresight that can that can
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: advise and guide a little bit better some of the
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: offseason moves. I mean, you look at some of the
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: people that they were that they let go, you know,
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: you know, Amari Cooper being one of them, and the
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Tony Pollard Tennessee. I know Tennessee is not winning, but
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: my goodness is he is he effective as a running
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: back there? And can you imagine like the difference between
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: bringing back Ezekiel Elliott who wasn't even dressed this week
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: because of basically a suspension for not attending meetings and
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: all the other issues. Just it feels like a mess.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: And to see that, you know, to see Dak Prescott,
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: they caught him saying, you know, we bleep and suck
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: and just like it feels like for the first time,
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: it's not just like this big Cowboys show and the
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: product isn't as good as all the hype. It feels
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: like things are falling apart in that organization. And to
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: spend the money they did on Dak, when they spent
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: that money, which meant they had to pay a lot
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: more because they got so late in the process, rather
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: than setting the market a little bit earlier. It just
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: poorly managed in terms of the salary cap and the
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: players that they're they're paying versus the players they're letting go.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: Would to me stands out the most from this last offseason.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Two more organizational questions and they can kind of be
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: in the same ord. The Bengals have to win a
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: bunch and the Jets have to win a bunch. They
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: both have had pretty subpar starts to the season. Can
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: either one of those teams win enough games to make
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: the playoffs?
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: I think they're both capable, you know, talent wise, I
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: truly think they're both capable, But the margin of error
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: that they've put themselves in is just it's hard to overcome.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: So if there are any two teams that talent wise
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: are capable of doing it, it's the Bengals and the Jets.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: The Bengals they it seems like they always with Joe Burrow,
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: They've always always got enough to slow starts. The contract
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: situations with their wide receivers absolutely played into that. Early
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: this year, they're starting to pull it all together. I
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: think they'll make a legitimate run at it, but I
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: don't have enough confidence that they'll actually be able to win.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: You know, what was the Borough quote before last week,
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: We gotta win seven out of nine. That's doable. You know,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: we can do that paraphrasing, but essentially that's what he said.
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: And yet it is doable. But it ain't gonna be easy,
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: you know, And so I just I wouldn't bet on
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: them being being able to make that kind of run.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: But if again, if there was a team that could
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: do it, I think that one of them for the Jets.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Like you see the Richmond Spider's helmet Joe Douglas pointing
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: to the wrong one.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Joe Douglas.
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: I played with Joe, he's the general manager of the Jets.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: Played with Joe at Richmond. So I've known him for
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: you know, almost thirty years now. He's put together a
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: really good roster. Ownership with what he Johnson has made
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: it difficult. Just check out Bill Belichick and all of
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: his quotes. And I know there's a rivalry there and
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: frustration in their history, but he's not wrong with a
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: lot of things he's saying. And so it's difficult. You know,
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: when when ownership has its hand in some of the decisions,
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: that plays a factor. Aaron Rodgers does not look the same.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: The injuries definitely slowed him down. He's not able to
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: move around the way he used to. That feels like
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: there's a lack of tempo and urgency in that offense.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: But this past week they looked like they finally looked
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: like the Jets that you'd expect to see DeVante Adams.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: The addition is huge. Garrett Wilson still playing at an
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: extremely high level. Brisse Hall is one of the best,
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: most talented running backs in the NFL. Like they've got
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: the talent. I think defensively, they they've been a little
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: disappointing in terms of their tackling, their linebackers and all that.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: But I don't poll for any organization, but I appreciate
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: what Joe has done there. The players he's drafted, you know,
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: the players that they've brought in, they've done a phenomenal job.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: It's just can this organization gel and can they play
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: their best ball down the stretch, which they're gonna have
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: to do and they're gonna have to go on a
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: run similar to the one we were talking about with
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: the Bengals, like probably seven out of nine wins and
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: that's that's not easy to do in the NFL.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Last question multipart, but I do want to talk about
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: four rookie quarterbacks and how you feel like they have
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: played based on how you felt like they would play. Obviously,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Caleb Williams Jane Daniels. I love Bonicks. I didn't love Bonicks,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: but I love bo Nick now because that dude just
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: goes like he's an idiot and he's awesome.
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: Like in the same game. Also, who else am I free?
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Oh? I drank May? Yeah, So talk about those four
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: quarterbacks and how you feel their development's been and kind
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: of the stealing for each of these guys.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: I mean we could go on for an hour, right,
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: I'll try to kind of be brief and sum it up.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: Jaden Daniels is there's a case study that general managers
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: should should study, and I think more importantly, quarterbacks in
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: college football are that legitimately have a chance to go
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: play in the NFL should study. Jaden was a third
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: it was like a fifth round prospect going into his
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: first year at LSU. Developed talked to Brian Kelly before
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: a Tennessee game that they wind up getting blown out
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: on but he he understands like what I do, and
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: told me, like, listen, stick with Jaden. He's special. We
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: know he's a special athlete, but you don't see yet
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: on tape. Is in games is what I see in practice,
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: the anticipation, the ability to throw guys open when he
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: trusts his read. He's a phenomenal passer and we hadn't
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: seen that yet. And he said, I'm pissed off this
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: week because everyone in the local media is saying Jayden
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: doesn't have an interception. He's been tremendous. He's like, I
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: just want him to throw an interception. I want him to,
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: like get to realize, like the world's not going to
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: end if he trusts to read, throws the ball and
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: it doesn't work out and he throws a pick. And
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: I'll never forget the first play in that game. They
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: had a design comeback route and I could just hear
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: him in meetings, but Jaden, I don't care if it's
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: an interception, I don't care what happens. Let it rip.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: Trust your read and he did and it was a
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: perfect throw completion. And even though they lost that game,
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: it was like from that point on, he kept getting
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: better and what we saw in his second and final year.
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: I said coming out, like, I think Caleb Williams has
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: tools that are unique and special and if developed properly,
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: can be one of the elites of all time. And
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: you see some comparisons with Ian and Patrick Mahomes. But
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: if I was dropped on this earth and was just
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: given the twenty twenty three tape of the two quarterbacks,
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: I'd say, oh, yeah, Jayden's the guy and Jaden had
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: with Mike Denbrock, his offensive coordinator at LSU. Jaden came
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: into the NFL and it was a lot of similar
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: stuff and it was very similar system. So not only
- 1:07:06Speaker 4: did he have like fifty six starts or whatever it
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: was between Arizona State and LSU and have the opportunity
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: to grow in a more of a pro style system
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: as he got to LSU, but he played in a
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: system that prepared him for the NFL. So I think
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: the combination of the game experience that Jaden had and
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: the developing that he did in his final year and
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: a half there at LSU, and the fact for NFL
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: teams to look and say, you know what, how critically
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: important important was it to Jadeen his rookie year to
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: play in a system that he was comfortable in. And
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: so I say that because what he's doing is so
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: unique and special. Rookie quarterbacks should not play at the
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: level that Jaden Daniels is playing this year, and what
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: is Washington now seven and two? So this is this
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: is a rarity, but there's something to learn from this.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: And then you look at Caleb and Caleb after the
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: first three weeks, we're like, oh no, and watching Jaden,
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: how great he was playing. Maybe Caleb's not what we
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: thought he was going to be. Maybe some of the
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: you know, the backyard football, the sandlot stuff. Maybe he's
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: just he's always going to try to play hero ball.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: But then he started to really make progress from like
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: weeks three or four for like three or four weeks,
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: and now in the last couple of weeks he's coming
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: back down to earth a little bit. The problem for
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Caleb is if it keeps on this trajectory, it's going
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: to be just another rookie quarterback going into his second
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: year with a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: and starting over again. And so hopefully Chicago makes the
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: right decision if that's the route they go with a
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: new staff and brings in someone that actually knows how
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: to develop quarterbacks because Caleb is absolutely special. He is
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: Jaden and Caleb are unique, They're different. They have a
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: chance to be elite quarterbacks in the NFL. So that's
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: those two. Drake May is kind of exactly where we
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: thought an organization that does not have the supporting cast
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: around him. Hopefully he doesn't have to play as a rookie,
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: but we all kind of know he's going to play
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: as a rookie, right because they all do. And I've
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: been encouraged, like I was at the Jets game. I
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: went down there with my son and watched the Jets game,
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: and before he had the concussion and got injured, I
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: was really encouraged by like how poised he was, how
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: comfortable he was. He's not there as a passer yet,
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: he's the system's completely different and it's been a big
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: jump for him, but you see some of the positive
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: signs that I think if New England next year can
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: bring in some more weapons, protect him better another year
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: of experience, I think Drake May is going to have
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: a chance to be a solid to above average quarterback
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: in the league. And then Bo Nicks I didn't see
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: it as much as Sean Payton. And I give Sean
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Payton a lot of credit, and there's going to be
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: bumps in the road. And after the first couple of weeks,
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: I kept thinking to myself, maybe Sean shouldn't have been
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: so you know, like over the top when with his
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: preseason hype of Bow and maybe he set the bar
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: too high and so the expectation is never going to
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: meet it. But he but he loves Bo Nicks and
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: that's his guy, and he's been looking for his guy,
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: the next Drew Brees. And I'm not saying he's gonna
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: be Drew Brees, because you know, there's not many that
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: God makes right, but but I do think that he
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: is the right fit. And we're seeing Bo like he's mature, competitive,
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: it just loves the game, coaches, son, all those sorts
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: of things, and you can see the development week in
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: and week out. There's gonna be you know, setbacks. We
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: saw it this Sunday, but you can see Bo Nicks
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: is the right guy for Sean Payton. And that's fun
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: to watch too, as a guy sits in this room
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: and watch his tape all the time like it's it's
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: not just about the process of where they get drafted.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: It's about where they land and what do they have
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: around them to develop? And clearly Jayden has the right
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: things in place to develop, which is shocking to say
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: from a Washington organization with Daniel Snyder at the top
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: for so long, they couldn't do that. Caleb does not yet,
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: Drake May does not yet. Bo Nix It will keep
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: getting better, but bo Nix is in the right place,
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: and that's all you can ask for, is a rookie quarterback.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I want to encourage everybody to check out The McShay Show.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: I'm already a man as a fan. Do you do it?
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: Three episodes a week, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: Yeah, we're doing it, so Saturday night is just during
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: the season. We're doing it after the primetime game. This
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: is our first week live. I'm glad you brought it up.
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: The last two weeks we've taped it. This is the
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: first week we're gonna be live on YouTube and Spotify
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: right after the primetime game. And we figured this is
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: let's get the kinks out the first two weeks. Right
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: now we're going into week three, and I mean, who
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: doesn't want to talk about LSU Alabama right after that game,
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: and I know there's gonna be lunatics that they're still
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: up that want to yell at their screen and see
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: like we're the place to do it. So probably around
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: eleven thirty whenever, whenever Herbie and Fowler they sign off
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: on that game, we're gonna jump right on and we're
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: gonna we're gonna talk about that game and some of
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: the other big games on Saturday, and then every Tuesday
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: and Thursday, we'll kind of college Football Reaction, college Football
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: look Ahead Tuesday and Thursday respectively, and always with the
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: NFL and NFL Draft tied in, and when the season
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: wraps up, it'll probably be two shows still on Tuesday
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: Thursday and just a heavy focus on the l NFL
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: Draft in like you know, February, March, and April.
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: Go search up the McShay show.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Todd, big fan again, thank you for your time and
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: hopefully I'll talk to you again soon.
- 1:12:12Speaker 10: Yeah.

- 1:13:48Speaker 8: It seems like they are when all these teams, like
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: the Georgia still barely beat Florida, Like these teams are
- 1:13:52Speaker 8: barely hanging on and Oregon is just almost separating themselves now.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: And especially because of the first of the year, they
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: were almost losing. Yeah, it's not just the boys state game.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: It happened a few times, yeah, Idaho, I think, yeah,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: so it was.
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: It's I agree, and we are a bit biased because
- 1:14:06Speaker 5: we were up there.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: We were coach landing. But yeah, they are like really
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: at the peaking at the perfect time.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: It feels like you see, our boy Tess went down
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: though I did see that.
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: I don't know if it's like I think it was
- 1:14:17Speaker 8: a broken collarbone, but always I didn't know that it
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: was definitely a shoulder.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: That sucks. He's gone then for six, probably six eight weeks,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: broken collarbone.
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: Right, broken collar bone.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: I have no idea.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: I love to play internet doctor y, but my buddy
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Chris broke his collarbon in high school. He was out
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: six to eight weeks, so he based it all off
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: of that, literally, the only thing I based it off of. Yeah.
- 1:14:39Speaker 8: It doesn't say details that, it just says I think
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: he's getting further evalue evaluations as they say, did.
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: You watch any sports at all?
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: I didn't watch anything this weekend.
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: I just cooked and chilled with the lady.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: Reads fiance was in town, so he was worthless to
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: us on this show.
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: I didn't even play pickleball man.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Worth that's Oh, there'll be new rankings. We had quite
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: the match yesterday. There'll be somebody that is rising up
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: the rankings. I can't wait to hear it. So the
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: new pickleball rankings will be out then the next episode
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: we will play once this week. I'm sure if you
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: guys want to play, like Wednesday or something, but it
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: is not going to be pretty for some folks if
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: they don't get some wins in. That's all I'm going
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: to say.
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: Did any are there any new additions?
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: Okay, solid, Yes, Edie, did you go yesterday.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: I did not no, no, no, yesterday. There are there
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: will be a new addition and we had somebody new
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: play for the first time. You can't be in the
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: list because you got to have two appearances before you
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: get on the list. Who took me to the championship
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: match and gave me gave me some business?
- 1:15:44Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not win, did not win, but gave
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: me some business in the championship match. So that's all
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna say. Don't worry about it. How about that?
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: D w a h boom, Dwight. It's the way. Don't
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: worry about it.
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: Yes, Eddie, what are you talking about?
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: The Cowboys? What what do you talk about? It doesn't matter.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: That's the best takeaway of the weekend. I mean the Cowboys,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: they suck.
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: It looks like a depressed well, it's.
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: Hard to even watch football, like I even I tried
- 1:16:16Speaker 7: to watch the game last night, the Minnesota Vikings and
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: let's see if they can win this game.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Fell asleep halftime. We didn't get to talk about case
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: these Jets went over the Texans because we did the
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: show Thursday after. Yeah, so I'll give you a second
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: talk about that here.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it was probably probably a typical uh well,
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: yeah it was. It was a typical first half of
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: the Jets. That guy Malachi Corley that we picked up
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: last year third rounder. Everyone was like hyping them up.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: They're like, where where, where's he been? Where's he been?
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Then he, uh, you know, gets his gets his moment,
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: runs into the end zone, drops the ball right before
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: it crossed the road.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: I don't know why people still do that.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: I don't know how so right, so the first half
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: was kind of what this whole year has been. But
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: I guess there was some kind of pep talk at
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: the second half because they came out swinging man Garrett
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: Wilson looking pretty good. I had that amazing catch that
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: everyone's been compared to Obijay's catch in MetLife Stadium. So
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: I don't know, we'll see. We got Arizona coming up,
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: and the Colts.
- 1:17:12Speaker 9: Again.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: I don't I think the Bills are the only team
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: we play coming up that is over five hundred. Every
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: team that we play is under five hundred. Sold us
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: in US, including us.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Listen to the tone of his voice, Texans man, let's go.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: So I don't like I'll end on this. I don't
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: like I playing two fantas football leagues. I don't like
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: playing two leagues. I like playing once. I can put all
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: my eggs in that basket and not have to worry
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: about who's playing who. And do have teams only, but
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: I have two close groups. But in the league, I
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: playing with Kevin Klue, my trainer. I'm like, of all
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: twelve teams in the league, I'm like third overall in points,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: but I was like one in six. So luckily they
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: have that rule. Both leagues now do where six teams
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: to go to the playoffs, but the sixth spot goes
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: to the person who has the most points. It's not
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: in the top five, Okay, so it and I love
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: the rule because they're just it's just unlucky sometimes when
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: you play teams that are putting up a bunch of points. Yeah.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: So the record hasn't been good in that league, but
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: I've been just scoring like crazy, like crazy, like crazy.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: And so last week Dak put up like a forty spot,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: and I forget. I thought the game was over to me,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: but Dak put up a forty spot ended up when
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: winning my game because I woke up and I was like,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: oh my god, I won. I remember because I I
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: don't know why I stopped watching the game. It was
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: it was a terrible game, was it? It scored late?
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Turned out okay, Yeah, so I ended up winning because
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Dak put up that forty I didn't know.
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: Logged on this morning, I was, I was way down.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: Do you know? You know? Having my team, they put
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: up a significant amount of points. They ended up winning
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: me the game. Can you think of anybody put up
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: significant points? Zay Flowers he did put up a lot
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: of points by something I wouldn't have seen. Jackson Smith
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: and Jig but put up a yeah. Yeah, he caught
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: a lot again and a couple of touchdowns. Oh I
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: had him on the bench. Dang it. He had like
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: forty points. So in that league where I was like
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: one and whatever, I think, now I'm gonna other. Are
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: we nine weeks in nine? I think now four and
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: five I've won, Like, but.
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: I don't even need a run. I got so many points.
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: I'm gonna have that six spot anyway.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: But big shout out to the those games where you
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: don't think you're gonna win and you went because I
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: hated the opposite when it happens, and it's opposite because
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: that's happened to me too, where I'm like, I got this,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: I'm going to bed, and you wake up and you're.
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: Like, he scored seventy one points.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: So that's what's up. Thank you guys, and that's gonna
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: do her. Does basketball start today? College basketball? What's today?
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: Monday?
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Monday? I saw a bunch of games, maybe weed in Arkansas,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: not today. So I know you guys play about when
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: we played yeah in Arkansas, though no I think they
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: would be here. We would come and play here, but
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: that would be so cool.
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: I mean I would like that, but would.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Let's go. That's it. Thank you guys, and we will
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: see you next week. Goodbye, everybody.
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: Hollo ed.
