- 0:04Over 400 years, the armies of Kyros the Overlord have swept across the known world.
- 0:36All who stood against them fell before their might.
- 0:41Even the Archons, women and men of immense power, were forced to kneel, chained to the
- 0:49Overlord's will.
- 0:52Now Kyros' final conquest has come to our corner of the world, and two of the Overlord's armies
- 0:59compete for the honor of taking our lands.
- 1:04The elite disfavored, and the teeming horde of the Scarlet Chorus.
- 1:11The voices of Narad, Spymaster and Archon of Secrets, guides the fierce and undisciplined
- 1:18masses of the Scarlet Chorus.
- 1:20With each battle, the Scarlet Chorus grows stronger as the defeated are given a simple
- 1:26choice, serve or die.
- 1:31Graven Ash, Archon of War and the Overlord's most loyal general, leads the disfavored.
- 1:38Though small in number, Kyros' ironclad legion has never met true defeat in open battle.
- 1:47Watching over the two generals is T'unon, the adjudicator, Archon of Justice, eldest of
- 1:54Kyros' minions.
- 1:57T'unon brings Kyros' laws to newly conquered lands, aided by the Fatebinders, Judges
- 2:03and Executioners of the Overlord's laws.
- 2:07You are among the youngest of the court of Fatebinders when Kyros' armies came
- 2:12to our lands.
- 2:15How could we have known that the fate of thousands would rest in your hands?
- 4:40All the world has fallen to Kyros, and now the Overlord's eye is on the tears, our home.
- 4:48The last corner of the world free of Kyros' reign.
- 4:52Two armies, the disfavored and the Scarlet Chorus, march south from the Northern Empire,
- 4:59the last realm to fall to Kyros a century prior.
- 5:06In the early days of 428, Kyros' armies arrive at the Gates of Judgment, the mountainous
- 5:13border that we Tearsmen so long believed unassailable.
- 5:17Unable to agree on a unified plan of defense, the various leaders of the Tears sit and
- 5:24wait for each other to deal with the conquerors, until it's too late.
- 22:23The year is 431, and Kyros' invasion has shattered all major opposition in the Tears,
- 22:30the younger realms, the bastard Tear, the free cities.
- 22:35All who defied Kyros lay broken by battle, or bowed in surrender.
- 22:40The two armies of the Overlord, the disfavored and the Scarlet Chorus, now control our
- 22:46lands.
- 22:49But our will is not yet extinguished, not entirely.
- 22:55In the valley of Vendrian's Well, those of us unwilling to bow to Kyros have banded together
- 23:01in defiance.
- 23:03Violating an oath of surrender from two years prior, we have staged a bloody uprising,
- 23:10murdering the disfavored and Scarlet Chorus Garrison in a midnight assault.
- 23:18With their main forces spread across the Tears, the disfavored and Scarlet Chorus redeploy
- 23:24to Vendrian's Well to crush the resistance, but months pass with no definitive battle.
- 23:32As disagreement and discord paralyze the Archons, we bide our time and wait for
- 23:38our message of insurrection to spread across the Tears.
- 23:44The Overlord is not amused, and Kyros has one message for the Archons, crush the Oathbreakers
- 23:51or die.
- 23:53Kyros backs this threat with an edict, a magical commandment that can slay all in the valley
- 23:59should the order be ignored.
- 24:02The honor of proclaiming this edict fell to you.
- 24:06Sent across the mountains to Vendrian's Well, you carry the Overlord's Edict to read before
- 24:12the Archons.
- 24:18As you finally make your way through the winding mountain passes into the valley, the
- 24:23ground trembles, and Kyros' magic seals the way behind you.
- 24:31You are trapped in Vendrian's Well, with Kyros' armies and the Oathbreakers.
- 24:37The only way to survive is to fulfill the terms of the Overlord's Edict in any way
- 24:43that you can.
