- 3:01In local news, Red Jacket Resorts, a prominent hotel chain in Cape Cod, has announced a significant
- 3:08renovation project with a $40 million investment, targeting three of its five properties.
- 3:15This extensive upgrade, to be completed by May 2024, aims to modernize 397 rooms, dining
- 3:24outlets, lobbies, meeting spaces, pools, and beachfront amenities.
- 3:30The renovation is part of an effort to enhance the guest experience while maintaining the
- 3:35charm of Cape Cod.
- 3:37Each resort will get a unique identity through distinct interior design choices.
- 3:43Despite the comprehensive updates, the management intends to keep room rates competitive, emphasizing
- 3:49their commitment to providing value to both new and returning guests.
- 4:00Now on to sports.
- 4:02The Indianapolis Colts have secured quarterback Joe Flacco on a one-year contract worth up
- 4:07to $8.7 million, with a guaranteed $4.5 million.
- 4:14Following a notable season with the Cleveland Browns, where Flacco was named NFL Comeback
- 4:19Player of the Year, he will now bring his experience to the Colts.
- 4:25Despite his preference to remain with the Browns, Flacco's move positions him likely
- 4:29as a backup to Anthony Richardson, the Colts' young quarterback who faced a shoulder injury
- 4:35last season.
- 4:37Flacco's signing comes after a season where he impressively turned his temporary stint
- 4:42with the Browns into a playoff appearance, signaling his potential value to the Colts'
- 4:48roster.
- 4:49And in more trade news.
- 4:51Calvin Ridley and the Tennessee Titans have struck a surprising deal with a four-year,
- 4:56$92 million contract, defying expectations amidst rumors linking Ridley to the New England
- 5:03Patriots.
- 5:04NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the agreement includes $50 million guaranteed.
- 5:13This move comes after Ridley's tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he showcased
- 5:17his resilience and capability despite past challenges, including a gambling suspension
- 5:23and mental health concerns.
- 5:27This contract places Ridley among the top paid receivers, raising questions about the
- 5:31Titans' strategy given their apparent shift towards rebuilding and the age profiles of
- 5:37key players.
- 5:40No sports in Boston last night, but tonight the Celtics are at home taking on the Suns,
- 5:46and the Bruins are on the road in Canada to play the Canadians.
- 5:52In top news.
- 5:54Using tap water for nasal rinsing, such as with natty pots, can actually lead to dangerous
- 6:00infections.
- 6:02The CDC warns against the common misconception that tap water is sterile.
- 6:08Despite being safe for drinking and cooking, tap water contains microorganisms that can
- 6:13be harmful when introduced to sensitive areas like the sinus cavities.
- 6:19Research found instances where people developed life-threatening onyba infections after using
- 6:24tap water in nasal rinses.
- 6:28The CDC advises using boiled, sterile, or distilled water for such practices, especially
- 6:35among those with weakened immune systems, to prevent severe outcomes like encephalitis,
- 6:41a condition with a high fatality rate.
- 6:45In business news.
- 6:48Coinbase Global stock has seen remarkable growth, quintupling since last June, driven
- 6:53by the cryptocurrency boom and the adoption of digital assets by financial institutions
- 6:59and advisors.
- 7:01Despite regulatory challenges, Coinbase's diverse revenue streams, beyond just trading
- 7:07fees, are seen as key growth drivers.
- 7:11Analysts believe the platform will benefit from the broader crypto-ecosystems expansion,
- 7:16including Bitcoin ETS, which have seen record inflows.
- 7:21While some express caution over the high valuation and regulatory uncertainties, the momentum
- 7:27behind Coinbase and cryptocurrencies suggests potential for further gains.
- 7:34In crypto movement, Bitcoin is now up to $73,000, Ethereum is at $4,000, and Solana is $167.

- 8:53Set for beta testing later this year and aiming for a 2025 release, these plant-based pods
- 9:00represent a significant step towards sustainability, addressing the environmental concerns associated
- 9:06with traditional plastic coffee pods.
- 9:09The K-Rounds offer versatility in coffee brewing, capable of making espresso, regular, and iced
- 9:15coffee thanks to their specialty grinds and sizes.
- 9:19However, to use these eco-friendly pods, consumers will need to purchase the new Keurig Alta
- 9:26as existing machines are incompatible.
- 9:31And in entertainment news, Venom 3, now titled Venom, the last dance, had its release date
- 9:38moved up to October 25th, ahead of the initially scheduled November 8th.
- 9:44This update comes as a surprise, especially after production pauses due to the actors'
- 9:49and writers' strikes.
- 9:51However, the film quickly resumes shooting following the resolution of the strike, similar
- 9:57to Dead Goal and Wolverine.
- 10:00Plot details remain tightly under wraps, maintaining Marvel's tradition of secrecy, though there's
- 10:06speculation about a multiverse theme linked to Tom Hardy's appearance in Spider-Man.
- 10:12No way home.
- 10:14Amid concerns following the underperformance of Madame Web, Sony's scrutiny on the new
- 10:20Venom is heightened, given the previous successes of the Venom series.
- 10:27Well alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
- 10:31And today, in honor of Einstein's birthday, we'll hear a quote from the genius himself.
- 10:37He said,
- 10:38The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.
- 10:42It is the source of all true art and science.
- 10:48And that's a wrap for this morning.
