- 0:00Hey beautiful friends, welcome back to the She Speaks Live
- 0:04podcast for the Fuel Your Life series where we just don't talk
- 0:09about faith. We walk in it.
- 0:11We don't just study scripture. We live it, breathe it and let
- 0:15it transform us from the inside out.
- 0:18I'm your host, Jamie Elizabeth, and today we are diving into one
- 0:23power packed verse, one that the Lord has had circling in my
- 0:27heart for weeks. It's in the Serenity journal,
- 0:31Calm your soul, strengthen your spirit, which these journals,
- 0:35you can find the personalized scripture on my website, but
- 0:39it's absolutely not required for us to be walking through these
- 0:44little mini Bible studies. I just want to invite everyone
- 0:48to these and we take a Bible verse and we break it down.
- 0:53And so we are going to be diving into Proverbs 3125 today, and
- 1:01I'll be reading out of the NLT version.
- 1:04And it says she is clothed with strength and dignity and she
- 1:08laughs without fear of the future.
- 1:12And I just got to say, this is not just a poetic phrase.
- 1:18This is a spiritual blueprint for how God calls his daughters
- 1:23to stand, especially in those uncertain times.
- 1:27And if there's anything, we all all can walk through life in
- 1:32uncertainty. And we, I got to say it's OK.
- 1:35Because if you're anything like me, that's when my faith gets
- 1:40strengthened. And that's where my character
- 1:44becomes refined to be more Christ like.
- 1:46And I cling on to God's promises, knowing that he has
- 1:51the best for me and he has the best for you always.
- 1:54So today we're going deep. We're not surface reading this
- 1:58verse. We're letting it it really take
- 2:00root in our hearts. And that is my prayer for each
- 2:04one of these episodes. So we're going to unpack it word
- 2:08by word. And by the end, I'm going to
- 2:10lead you in personalizing this verse into a declaration of
- 2:15faith over your life. So let's start with where this
- 2:19verse sits. It's in the chapter of 31.
- 2:23It's in chapter 31 of Proverbs where you may be all familiar
- 2:27with the Proverbs 31 woman. If not, you can go and read up
- 2:32on it. It starts in verse 10.
- 2:36So, but first I want to start by saying this woman described in
- 2:40this chapter is not there to make us feel bad or that we
- 2:45can't measure up to her. This is what I used to think,
- 2:49and I pull things out of it that I didn't do or I thought was not
- 2:54for me or it's too hard. But let me just tell you, I had
- 2:57it all wrong. Because as I grew in the Word
- 2:59and I took a sense of studies on the Proverbs 31 woman, I
- 3:03realized this wasn't about perfection or performance, but
- 3:09it was knowing that this woman has a covenant relationship with
- 3:14God. She's not just rising early to
- 3:17open her Bible to check it off on her list.
- 3:21She is opening her Bible to commune with her Heavenly
- 3:24Father. She knows that her confidence
- 3:27comes from knowing who she is in Christ.
- 3:31She knows that God is faithful and He's trustworthy.
- 3:35She is virtuous because she revere's the Lord.
- 3:39She gives to God and knows without Him she can't be the
- 3:43best wife and mother that God designed her to be.
- 3:47So ladies, when we are living in an upright relationship with God
- 3:52and walking obedience to His Word, these things that are
- 3:55listed in this chapter, we'll find some of these things
- 3:58already going on in our lives, flowing in our lives.
- 4:03So let's just begin with verse 25, the first part of this
- 4:08verse, and it says she is clothed with strength.
- 4:12What does it mean to be clothed with strength?
- 4:17So notice it doesn't say she feels strong, it says she is
- 4:22clothed in strength. That is a pretty confident
- 4:27stance there. And I got to say, there are many
- 4:30references in the Bible on being clothed or it might say put on.
- 4:36And it's one of identity, of knowing who you are in Christ.
- 4:42It says in Isaiah 61, it says that you are in Christ, clothed
- 4:48or robed in the righteousness of Christ.
- 4:50Ephesians 6 it says put on the armor of God.
- 4:55So that means strength is not only upon us or on us, but we as
- 5:01believers have strength that lives in us because we have the
- 5:05living power of the Holy Spirit. And therefore when the Holy
- 5:08Spirit is in us, we have many things that the Holy Spirit, the
- 5:12Spirit of God does. And one of the things is he,
- 5:15He's our strengthener. We we find that in Ephesians 316
- 5:20and I'm paraphrasing this, but it says that God will grant us
- 5:24according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with
- 5:28might through the Holy Spirit. So we are strengthened with
- 5:33might through the Holy Spirit. So strength is not only in us,
- 5:38but it's upon us, Something we wear.
- 5:40It's not based on mood, it's not based on circumstance.
- 5:44Thank you Jesus. It's something God puts on you
- 5:48like armor, like a covering. Our job is to use what God has
- 5:53given us already. Don't just read it and forget
- 5:56it, but actually act on it. Make it visible that we are
- 5:59clothed by Him with His strength.
- 6:03And it's not our strength but his given to us.
- 6:07And the Hebrew word for strength here is 'cause which means power
- 6:12might force security and boldness.
- 6:15This is not a self-made strength.
- 6:17It's not from hitting the gym or pretending to have it all
- 6:21together making it seem like you're strong.
- 6:24I'm a strong woman. But really underneath breeds
- 6:28worry of fear or insecurity. This is Holy Spirit strength
- 6:34rooted in God's unchanging character.
- 6:38The kind of strength that allows you to hold your peace when
- 6:42everything around you is chaotic.
- 6:45So, quick testimony, my husband and I, we lost our home in
- 6:49California in 2008, and we went through some tremendous
- 6:54financial hardship when the recession hit.
- 6:57And I just remember hanging on to God's every word like it was
- 7:03my lifeline, which it, it was and it still is.
- 7:07But when those times are dark, I mean I clinged on, white
- 7:11knuckled it as I did. He gave me His strength.
- 7:16The supernatural gift of strength that just came from
- 7:20knowing Him, just came from feeding on His truth daily.
- 7:26And in fact, a verse in Isaiah 4029, it says He gives strength
- 7:32to the weary and increases the power of the week.
- 7:37So if you've been feeling weary lately, that doesn't disqualify
- 7:41you. It qualifies you for a fresh
- 7:43outpouring of His strength. Let this be your personalized
- 7:48declaration. Here we go.
- 7:51I am clothed in the strength of the Lord.
- 7:54His power lives in me. When I feel weak, His strength
- 8:00rises up. I wear supernatural endurance.
- 8:03I wear courage. I wear confidence not in myself,
- 8:08but in Christ. So next it says she is clothed
- 8:14with dignity. This word speaks of worth,
- 8:19nobility, honor, value. So let's be honest, the world
- 8:24tries to define our dignity by things like appearance,
- 8:28performance, social status, or approval.
- 8:32But none of those things can dress you in true dignity.
- 8:37True dignity comes from being redeemed by Him, from knowing
- 8:41that you're no longer a slave to sin, but a daughter of the King,
- 8:46that you have a spiritual inheritance, blessings upon
- 8:51blessings, and your identity is rooted in who God says you are.
- 8:56You're loved unconditionally, valuable, worthy, and
- 9:01wonderfully made to do great things that He planned before we
- 9:05were even born. Jesus has clothed you in
- 9:10righteousness, which means you don't walk with shame, you walk
- 9:16with holy confidence, Psalm 33 says.
- 9:20But you, Lord, are a shield around me, My glory, the one who
- 9:27lifts my head high. Let that sink in.
- 9:32He lifts your head. He is a head lifter.
- 9:35That's dignity. So speak this over yourself.
- 9:40Ready. I walk in dignity because I
- 9:44belong to Jesus. I am not defined by my past, my
- 9:49trauma, or what I lack. My worth is anchored in heaven.
- 9:55I wear a crown of righteousness, and I walk with confidence and
- 10:00grace. Now let's lean into the latter
- 10:04part of the verse. The boldest part of this verse
- 10:06says she laughs without fear of the future.
- 10:10Or another version translation says she can laugh at the days
- 10:14to come. This is not some nervous laugh.
- 10:18This isn't sarcasm. This is a joyful, fearless,
- 10:23prophetic laugh. It means she's not shaken by
- 10:26what's coming because she knows who goes before her.
- 10:31She knows that the God that she serves is always faithful.
- 10:36In Psalm 112, seven, it echoes this truth.
- 10:39It says she is not afraid of bad news.
- 10:43Her heart is firm, trusting in the Lord friend.
- 10:47Laughing at the future doesn't mean we know how each and
- 10:51everything will turn out. But we do know with Him, in Him,
- 10:57that things will turn out, and we know who holds it together.
- 11:02We know where our help comes from.
- 11:05Our laughter is a declaration that fear doesn't get the final
- 11:10say. Fear makes no residence in us
- 11:13because the fear that we're talking about is a spirit that
- 11:17does not come from God. In fact, Second Timothy 17 says
- 11:21for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a power,
- 11:26love and sound mind. And when we treat fear like the
- 11:31enemy which it is and declare truth by saying fear has got to
- 11:36go in Jesus mighty name for God, You gave me power, not fear.
- 11:42You gave me love, not fear. You gave me a sound mind, not
- 11:46fear, and a sound mind is a mind that's disciplined to submit
- 11:51your word and not feelings and emotions and what they have to
- 11:55say, but what you say in your written truth over anything
- 12:00else, what you say in your truth over feelings, anything that my
- 12:05body is going through, I will submit it to the Word of God.
- 12:10So filling ourselves up with His presence by prayer, worship,
- 12:19praise, His word so much that we can fill ourselves up with His
- 12:25presence. Joy and peace is there.
- 12:28It becomes our weapon against worry and fear.
- 12:32So if you've been holding your breath about the unknown, I
- 12:36invite you to release that fear and say this with me.
- 12:42I can laugh at the days to come because God is already in my
- 12:47tomorrow. He is faithful.
- 12:49He is writing my story. I will not fear bad news.
- 12:54My heart is steadfast. My eyes are fixed on Jesus.
- 13:00I choose joy now, not because I see the outcome, but because I
- 13:05know the author of my life. So let's wrap this episode by
- 13:12speaking Proverbs 3125 over ourselves.
- 13:16And this is one of the things that we have in this journal
- 13:20where you personalize the Scripture verse.
- 13:23So if you're in a space where you can say this out loud, I
- 13:27invite you to join me right now. So let's personalize Proverbs
- 13:313125. So instead of she is clothed
- 13:37with strength and dignity, you say I am clothed with strength
- 13:42and dignity. Or Jamie, your name is clothed
- 13:46with strength and dignity. And I want to declare this over
- 13:50you and over us. God has wrapped me in His power
- 13:54and covered me in His courage. His Spirit strengthens me when I
- 14:00feel weak. I am never alone, I am clothed
- 14:04in dignity. So I walk with holy confidence
- 14:08because I know who I am and whose I am.
- 14:11I'm not ashamed. I am not diminished.
- 14:14I carry the beauty and worth of a daughter of the king.
- 14:18And then the latter part of the verse.
- 14:20I laugh at the days to come, or Jimmy laughs without fear of the
- 14:26future, or I laugh without fear of the future.
- 14:30Say this with me, declaration. The future doesn't frighten me,
- 14:35it fuels me because my God is already in it.
- 14:41I will not be shaken. I will not be silenced.
- 14:45I will walk in joy and peace and in bold expectation in Jesus
- 14:52mighty name when you spoke that over yourself, those
- 14:57declarations. I truly believe that there's
- 15:00something that shifts in our spirit, in our hearts when when
- 15:04we declare that it, it gives us a fresh mindset.
- 15:07We become, we start to see how God sees us when we take heed of
- 15:15scripture verses and make them personal to us like that.
- 15:20So I just want to encourage you. You're not just reading Proverbs
- 15:233125 today. You are living it.
- 15:28If this episode spoke to your heart, would you mind sharing it
- 15:33with a friend? Because you never know who needs
- 15:35to, who needs to be reminded of their strengths and their
- 15:39dignity and the joy that's available in the known and the
- 15:43unknowns of life. So until next time, keep
- 15:47speaking life. Keep wearing your strength and
- 15:50don't forget you were made to laugh at the future.
- 15:54Hey there, thank you for listening to this to the end.
