- 0:04Speaker 1: I got a story, can I tell you? Yeah.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It takes me like two minutes. Sorry, guys, I'm at
- 0:08Speaker 2: Rutgers University.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Let's go, kids, go baby, My buddy goes.
- 0:12Speaker 2: My buddy goes, hey, listen, well, I'm going online to
- 0:15Speaker 2: look for tickets. Maybe if I get them, we'll go
- 0:17Speaker 2: like great, whatever, buy them one hundred and twenty five bucks.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I'm like, steal Fleacher creatures. We get there, the guy
- 0:23Speaker 2: takes the tickets. He goes I'm like, oh no. He's like,
- 0:26Speaker 2: let me just try them down.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Up.
- 0:29Speaker 2: He's like, God, these aren't These aren't tickets for these games.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm like, stop it, bro, we got jipped one hundred
- 0:34Speaker 2: and twenty five bucks in college. You're like, no, no, no,
- 0:36Speaker 2: He's like, hold on, let me see, dude. These are
- 0:38Speaker 2: Game seven tickets. I'm like, oh my god, screaming left
- 0:41Speaker 2: and right profanities to my buddy. I said, what are
- 0:43Speaker 2: you doing. There's gonna be no Game seven blah blah blah.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Guy sees us yelling. He goes, yo, buddy, I got
- 0:49Speaker 2: two tickets for you.
- 0:50Speaker 1: What do you need? I said, talk to me. You know.
- 0:52Speaker 2: We start scooting, scattle and talking about what we have
- 0:54Speaker 2: to do. I'm like, bro, I got sixty bucks, take
- 0:56Speaker 2: it or leave it.
- 0:57Speaker 1: You know me.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You bring me to a farmer's mark, you give me
- 0:59Speaker 2: twenty bucks, I'll get sixty things and bring home next thing.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:03Speaker 2: He goes deal, I give you, give me sixty, give
- 1:05Speaker 2: me sixty, one hundred and twenty bucks for two tickets.
- 1:08Speaker 2: They win Game six, I said, dude, we're coming back
- 1:10Speaker 2: Game seven. We saw both games. Pretty cool, Boston.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean pretty cool to see both games.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, the history of it and you got a little
- 1:18Speaker 3: two for.
- 1:19Speaker 1: One when we were in the bleacher seats, which was
- 1:20Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:21Speaker 3: But were they devastated? What were they devastated?
- 1:24Speaker 1: Oh the whole Yeah it was bad.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it was bad, and you were they were witnessing history.
- 1:28Speaker 2: But I mean, listen, thinking back on it though, like
- 1:30Speaker 2: how we got there and everything else. I know, we
- 1:33Speaker 2: just went through everything. And now Claudia is gonna kill
- 1:35Speaker 2: me right now for all this. But it was pretty cool. Sorry,
- 1:39Speaker 2: that's cool.
- 1:39Speaker 3: It's worth it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But it's only Boston's been the only one.
- 1:43Speaker 4: This is this is what Scott said. Kids. There might
- 1:46Speaker 4: not be language, but you still got to go to class. Kids, Okay,
- 1:50Speaker 4: enjoy college Todd went to class. He almost got his degree.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It was at night. I didn't have any night classes
- 1:58Speaker 1: those two days.
- 2:00Speaker 3: You can't all tell your parents I'm going pro. It
- 2:02Speaker 3: doesn't matter because I have some unfortunate news. For those
- 2:06Speaker 3: of you that think you're going pro, you have a shot,
- 2:08Speaker 3: but it's unlikely. Most don't make it. I'm just being
- 2:12Speaker 3: real working Cratzy.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Tell them keep working, baby, all.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Right, let's reset ready, down three zero and a best
- 2:20Speaker 3: of seven. Forty of forty one have taken the series.
- 2:25Speaker 3: If they've got the lead, how many sweeps out of
- 2:28Speaker 3: those forty one three zero opportunities?
- 2:32Speaker 1: Closest wins an arena club card?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna say, man, say twenty.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Three thirty one out of forty one I win the
- 2:45Speaker 3: card closest to Are you surprised Kratz that the Dodgers
- 2:50Speaker 3: are going to take down the Brewers in four games?
- 2:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not surprised about that. I'm talking about history.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I'm tying it into what we're talking about right now.
- 2:59Speaker 3: But chances are show Heyo Tani's able to shut the
- 3:03Speaker 3: door on the series and they'll have a week's vacation.
- 3:08Speaker 4: This is not this is this couldn't be working out
- 3:10Speaker 4: better for the Dodgers. I mean, how many teams go
- 3:14Speaker 4: to the fourth game, and I mean think about our
- 3:16Speaker 4: game four last night. Max Shur's are like, I.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Don't know, you know, maybe you get maybe you get
- 3:22Speaker 5: three innings out of them.
- 3:23Speaker 4: That would be good. Four would be elite, Like you're
- 3:26Speaker 4: going in like doomsday kind of thinking. And the Dodgers
- 3:31Speaker 4: are like, well, actually, we're just gonna take show Hey
- 3:34Speaker 4: to his pitch count because it's show heyo Tani. That's like,
- 3:37Speaker 4: that's how deep this Dodgers team is. And they look unstoppable.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Even winning a three to one game, you know what
- 3:45Speaker 1: I mean.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It just it just seems like, I don't know the Brewers,
- 3:50Speaker 2: you know, they had some they had a little bit
- 3:52Speaker 2: of life that they didn't do much. But at the
- 3:53Speaker 2: same time, it just seems like one good inning for
- 3:56Speaker 2: this Dodger team's putting everybody away, and everybody talks about
- 3:59Speaker 2: their pen and everything else. Guys are coming and they're
- 4:02Speaker 2: coming in what is it three games against the brewis
- 4:05Speaker 2: was four runs they've given up? I could be off
- 4:07Speaker 2: maybe right, right, Kratzy Yeah in times right, Yeah, four
- 4:13Speaker 2: runs in three games. It's great, crazy, absolutely crazy. You know,
- 4:19Speaker 2: I get I give credit. I give credit to them.
- 4:21Speaker 2: They're they're just and it's different players too, which is
- 4:24Speaker 2: even better. So you know, we talked about guys that
- 4:27Speaker 2: need to get hot. He saw a guy like Tommy
- 4:29Speaker 2: Edmund struggling and all of a sudden getting a big knock.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So we can dive all the way into this. But
- 4:34Speaker 2: it people thought that Dodgers were like, oh man, look
- 4:37Speaker 2: at the San Diego is going to catch them. And
- 4:39Speaker 2: during the season, you know how it went back and forth,
- 4:41Speaker 2: and I'm sitting there, I'm like, doesn't matter. They're winning
- 4:44Speaker 2: this by three, four, five games and they'll be just fine.
- 4:47Speaker 2: So it's fun to watch.
- 4:50Speaker 3: We got a comment from CCB in the chat, it's
- 4:53Speaker 3: got I think the difference with the Red Sox comeback
- 4:55Speaker 3: is they had Pedro and chilling. The Brewers don't have
- 4:57Speaker 3: that bingo. I completely agree. When you look at the
- 5:02Speaker 3: Brewers in this series, you're like, how did they get
- 5:05Speaker 3: this far? With all due respect, how did they get
- 5:08Speaker 3: this far? Smoking mirrors, pitching going on here and the
- 5:13Speaker 3: bullpen's good, but.
- 5:14Speaker 2: They crushed the division. I thought they were in their division.
- 5:16Speaker 2: They did pretty well. I mean, I don't know, man,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I like Cratzy take most of this. I mean, they
- 5:22Speaker 2: have some ballplayers, nobody that's gonna blow you. I mean,
- 5:25Speaker 2: Cherio is really good ballplayer. You know, Nobody, all these
- 5:29Speaker 2: names that you have there, they're not going to be like, Wow,
- 5:32Speaker 2: yeah this this guy is gonna take over games. Like, yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 2: they're gonna do well. But at the same token, they're
- 5:37Speaker 2: just they're an okay ball club. Let's just be honest.
- 5:40Speaker 2: They're okay against when it comes to a team like
- 5:42Speaker 2: the Dodgers. Okay, So don't take words out of them
- 5:45Speaker 2: when it plays teams like a Dodgers or you know,
- 5:48Speaker 2: a Toronto or a Seattle team like the best of
- 5:51Speaker 2: the best.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just okay.
- 5:54Speaker 4: I'm just gonna read some Twitter posts that are now
- 5:57Speaker 4: commenting on what you just said. Todd okay hates the Brewers.
- 6:03Speaker 4: What about what about our what about our starting rotation?
- 6:07Speaker 4: What about the fact that we won ninety seven games?
- 6:10Speaker 4: What about the fact that in this series Bryce terrang
- 6:15Speaker 4: Christian Yelich two of their key lefties in their lineup,
- 6:19Speaker 4: and they've been facing besides Blake SNeW, they're gonna have
- 6:23Speaker 4: faced three right handed starters like guys that you're like, Okay,
- 6:26Speaker 4: these guys got to step up. Haven't been stepping up.
- 6:31Speaker 4: King Vaughan has not been that guy, Like, they haven't
- 6:35Speaker 4: stepped up offensively. But I'll kind of double down on
- 6:39Speaker 4: what I said last night postgame, because I think a
- 6:41Speaker 4: lot of people on Twitter mistook what I said saying that, oh,
- 6:45Speaker 4: it's because of the opener that they're losing, and they've
- 6:48Speaker 4: scored one run in two games and two runs in
- 6:50Speaker 4: another game, Like no, no, no, no, that's not why I'm
- 6:54Speaker 4: saying they're losing. The pitchers have done a great job
- 6:57Speaker 4: for them for the most part. They've done a great
- 6:59Speaker 4: job overall. But the fact that you go into a
- 7:03Speaker 4: playoff series and you go, Okay, we're gonna look at
- 7:06Speaker 4: our leaders. We're gonna look at our manager, We're gonna
- 7:08Speaker 4: look at our front office. We're gonna look at our coaches.
- 7:11Speaker 4: We're gonna even look at our superstars. Who looks nervous. Well,
- 7:14Speaker 4: Christian Yellis doesn't look nervous. I know he's not doing well.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Bryce Terrang doesn't look nervous. Okay, so now we're gonna
- 7:21Speaker 4: look at our front office and manager. Oh well, they
- 7:25Speaker 4: must not think our starters are good enough, so we
- 7:27Speaker 4: gotta we're like concocting a new way of getting these outs.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I guess there's something we gotta be nervous about, because
- 7:36Speaker 4: there's gotta be something. You're supposed to play all these
- 7:38Speaker 4: games like it's any other game. And I'm not saying
- 7:41Speaker 4: the Openers have lost them the game. I'm saying the
- 7:45Speaker 4: idea that, well, we gotta play this differently. We gotta
- 7:49Speaker 4: play these games differently. By starting an opener is forward
- 7:54Speaker 4: facing for all the players to see like there must
- 7:57Speaker 4: be something different instead of you know what, We're just
- 8:01Speaker 4: gonna go out and play our game. Glass and now
- 8:03Speaker 4: is gonna walk us. We're gonna take our walks, We're
- 8:05Speaker 4: gonna steal bases, We're gonna get base hits up the middle.
- 8:07Speaker 4: We're gonna do things that we've done all year because
- 8:11Speaker 4: our entire environment looks exactly the same. Besides the adrenaline
- 8:15Speaker 4: that I'm feeling, and that's why I said, the Openers
- 8:18Speaker 4: just maybe put some little psyche in a really good
- 8:21Speaker 4: team's head. I disagree with Todd. I don't think they're
- 8:23Speaker 4: just okay. I think they're a really good team. You
- 8:25Speaker 4: don't win ninety seven games in the big leagues without
- 8:28Speaker 4: being a really good team. I don't care if you're
- 8:30Speaker 4: in the central or not.

- 9:34Speaker 3: There were times when I talked about this last night,
- 9:37Speaker 3: they had too many starters and they trade away a
- 9:39Speaker 3: guy who's a four or five starter because they don't
- 9:41Speaker 3: have room for him in the rotation. They're not in
- 9:44Speaker 3: that spot right now, so that's part of it. By
- 9:46Speaker 3: the way, that was an epic clapback because there were
- 9:49Speaker 3: a lot of people like, Oh, that's all they're losing.
- 9:51Speaker 3: You just can't hit yet, No kidding, we're aware of that.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We did a thirty five minute post game show last night.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Do you want us to just go on the show
- 9:58Speaker 3: and say, well, welcome to FT Live postgame brewers can't
- 10:02Speaker 3: hit and we'll see you tomorrow. Give you something else
- 10:06Speaker 3: you want the player perspective. If Kratz is on a
- 10:09Speaker 3: team right now and they're like, hey, you know what
- 10:10Speaker 3: we did in the regular season, wipe that. We're not
- 10:13Speaker 3: as good as this team, so we're gonna do totally
- 10:16Speaker 3: different things, how do you think that affects the confidence
- 10:18Speaker 3: of the current ball club. It makes sense.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Somebody asked me. Somebody asked me for the first playoff game,
- 10:24Speaker 4: I was going to start in because I played in
- 10:25Speaker 4: a game. I came in. I didn't start. But when
- 10:29Speaker 4: I started the first playoff game, they go, are you nervous?
- 10:32Speaker 4: And I was like nervous for what they were like
- 10:35Speaker 4: for the game, like are you nervous? I was like,
- 10:37Speaker 4: I got a lot of adrenaline going yes. But they said,
- 10:41Speaker 4: they said, well, aren't you nervous once you get out there?
- 10:43Speaker 4: I was like, once I get out there, that's the
- 10:45Speaker 4: calm time. If you asked me to go play left
- 10:48Speaker 4: field in the first game of the playoffs, this guy
- 10:52Speaker 4: would be nervous. I would definitely be nervous. Essentially, you're
- 10:56Speaker 4: trying to take away.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Any kind of nerves or anything awkward or different from
- 11:02Speaker 6: that's different from the regular season because you've done it
- 11:04Speaker 6: one hundred and sixty two times, you've done your practice,
- 11:07Speaker 6: you take ground balls every single day.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Now you add a little wrinkle into it. Maybe that
- 11:12Speaker 4: affects some of these guys that are like control the
- 11:15Speaker 4: zone really well hitting and now they're going out of
- 11:18Speaker 4: the zone. And for people who say askcrew you, they
- 11:22Speaker 4: just stink. I'm like, okay, well, you're probably not listening.
- 11:25Speaker 4: For people who want to hear the players perspective, it
- 11:28Speaker 4: has to be an environment where you're able to just
- 11:31Speaker 4: harness that adrenaline and then take it to the promised Land.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Because they got all the way here, they should do
- 11:38Speaker 4: everything exactly the same.
- 11:40Speaker 3: In my opinion, Let me bring up one other component.
- 11:45Speaker 3: I agree with everything you said. I think one of
- 11:48Speaker 3: the most underrated tweets during the whole postseason that got
- 11:50Speaker 3: barely any love is from Mark Kurigg, who writes for
- 11:54Speaker 3: The Athletic for years and is an editor there now.
- 11:57Speaker 3: He said, man, did every player in this postseason not
- 12:00Speaker 3: get a scholarship offers? Slash scouted, slash drafted? And this
- 12:05Speaker 3: wasn't a knock on Joe Davis. He was more knocking
- 12:07Speaker 3: like the baseball storylines. He said. Every time Joe Davis
- 12:10Speaker 3: starts reading a player's bio, it begins with he went
- 12:13Speaker 3: to three Zephyr Hills Junior College in South Dakota and
- 12:16Speaker 3: didn't get any looks until he started on the local
- 12:18Speaker 3: poultry factory team. Here comes the two to one. It's
- 12:22Speaker 3: so good. It's so good, right it does? You get
- 12:25Speaker 3: some of that with the Brewers, You get some of
- 12:27Speaker 3: that with the Blue Jays, of course, which is what
- 12:30Speaker 3: they're covering right now on the Toronto side. I guess
- 12:33Speaker 3: there's a little withit that seattle like Leo Revas.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Anyway, the point I'm bringing up here is there are
- 12:39Speaker 3: neglected players on the evil Empire, which is the Dodgers. Now,
- 12:43Speaker 3: by the way, the Dodgers draft and develop, well, they're
- 12:47Speaker 3: able to find, scrap keep guys. They do all that, right,
- 12:49Speaker 3: But what they also do is take legendary franchise players
- 12:53Speaker 3: and say, hey, the team that had you first easily
- 12:58Speaker 3: could have kept you, and decided not to you. They
- 13:00Speaker 3: are stupid. Welcome to the Dodgers. High Mookie Betts. The
- 13:04Speaker 3: Red Sox easily could have kept you. You said it
- 13:06Speaker 3: yourself on this show. They kept shorting you. Hi, Freddy Freeman.
- 13:11Speaker 3: The amount that you guys had a difference with Atlanta
- 13:14Speaker 3: versus Freddy and his representation is about how much they
- 13:17Speaker 3: make in one or two home games during the regular season. Right,
- 13:20Speaker 3: you got any more you'd like to add on for
- 13:22Speaker 3: ut Crafts, I just wanted to start with the foundation.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Oh, Tyler Glass now could have stayed where he was
- 13:29Speaker 4: because he wasn't able to because of his health issues.
- 13:31Speaker 4: He wasn't able to command a massive contract, so he
- 13:34Speaker 4: could have stayed with the race. Blake Snell, we all
- 13:38Speaker 4: know what his drama happened. He didn't have to go like,
- 13:42Speaker 4: what do you get one hundred and seventy million? And
- 13:44Speaker 4: I think it was deferred, so.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and he can afford that contract. And most teams
- 13:52Speaker 3: the off season before said, and this was him coming
- 13:54Speaker 3: off a brilliant year, right, they were like, nah, not
- 13:57Speaker 3: worth it.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Well that he was coming off a slow start because
- 14:01Speaker 4: he missed spring training and then he ended up figuring
- 14:05Speaker 4: it out. But the year before is when he came
- 14:07Speaker 4: off of the brilliant year and everybody said, I'm nervous. Okay,
- 14:12Speaker 4: well you know who's not nervous. The team is sitting
- 14:14Speaker 4: three to zero right now, and people are gonna complain
- 14:16Speaker 4: it's all about the money, all about the salary cap,
- 14:18Speaker 4: all that stuff. Every one of these players was available,
- 14:21Speaker 4: They were available to be had. Max Munsey was taken
- 14:25Speaker 4: years ago off the DFA scrap heap. It's about believing
- 14:32Speaker 4: in the players that you have, believing in the system
- 14:34Speaker 4: that you have. And now they've built this thing that
- 14:37Speaker 4: they have in LA that guys want to come to.
- 14:41Speaker 4: So now you know what sucks for the rest of
- 14:43Speaker 4: baseball is you're gonna have to pay me more to
- 14:47Speaker 4: go somewhere else. If the Dodgers offered me, to say money,
- 14:50Speaker 4: why would I not want to go play for the Dodgers?
- 14:52Speaker 4: Why would I not want to listen to Key k
- 14:53Speaker 4: Hernandez say, I have offers from other teams, but I
- 14:57Speaker 4: told my agent, really, the only place I want to
- 14:59Speaker 4: go is la.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Very true Mike drop Krafts was on fire this segment. Yeah,
- 15:06Speaker 3: if you agree, please comment as you're watching. Yeah, and
- 15:10Speaker 3: coming up next we'll get a heat check on Kevin Pollar,
- 15:12Speaker 3: who's been on fire talking about what's going to happen
- 15:15Speaker 3: in the alcs. But first, arenaclub dot com slash foul.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Use the code foul for twenty percent off your first
- 15:21Speaker 3: slab pack or card purchase. We talk about them all
- 15:24Speaker 3: season long. If you're into buying, selling, trading cards, ripping packs,
- 15:28Speaker 3: this is the spot to do it. Hey, we're back
- 15:31Speaker 3: Jackson Cheerio. I wanted to ask you guys about him.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Have you ever seen that situation pop up on the broadcast?
- 15:36Speaker 3: They were like, oh, he's cramping and we were talking
- 15:39Speaker 3: before our postgame show like, is that a cramp that
- 15:42Speaker 3: looks bad? And then he hops off and he said, yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 3: it actually was a cramp and he's back in most
- 15:47Speaker 3: likely for the next game. We don't have official word,
- 15:49Speaker 3: but most likely playing. Have you ever seen that the
- 15:53Speaker 3: hop off?
- 15:55Speaker 2: I've never seen it now, but there's been crazier things.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Kratz has a conspiracy theory.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Can't I can't see it. No, but yeah, it's something different.
- 16:05Speaker 2: You've never seen him. I mean, get some electric likes
- 16:09Speaker 2: inion and keep going. I think I think you got
- 16:11Speaker 2: to find a way to fight through that.
- 16:12Speaker 3: If it was tour it doll, what are they giving
- 16:14Speaker 3: them these days? What do they pop them with? What
- 16:16Speaker 3: do you got crats?
- 16:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think he don't need no tour do
- 16:20Speaker 4: doll for h It's an NFL game. It's just the playoffs.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Nobody's really trying in the playoffs. Bro, Like, oh, I'm surprised.
- 16:29Speaker 4: I'm surprised he came out. But think about the fact
- 16:33Speaker 4: that if he's never cramped up before, maybe he thought
- 16:37Speaker 4: this was the worst thing in the world. Think about, like,
- 16:40Speaker 4: I've never seen anybody cramp up and just be like, hmm,
- 16:44Speaker 4: that kind of feels bad. I'm still cramping right now. No,
- 16:47Speaker 4: Everyone's like, ah, what the kid, Oh it's terrible. Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 4: so coming out of the game, I don't know that'll
- 16:59Speaker 4: be true. Real question.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Okay, don't you feel like post series it's gonna come
- 17:05Speaker 3: out like, oh, he was in much worse shape than
- 17:09Speaker 3: could you think?
- 17:10Speaker 1: Definitely could.
- 17:11Speaker 3: We said cramp, But by cramp we meant he reaggravated
- 17:14Speaker 3: the pull or whatever. No, you don't think so crasps.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I don't think it was just amp. Then it went away.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Not on your back leg. Oh, it clearly didn't go away.
- 17:21Speaker 5: I mean he was hopping, hopping off the field, but
- 17:24Speaker 5: he couldn't bend his leg.
- 17:25Speaker 4: That's why I thought. In the postgame show, I thought
- 17:27Speaker 4: it was a cramp, And you guys are like, no way,
- 17:29Speaker 4: and I'm like, okay, well whatever. But to me, I think, yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 4: you want to stay. You gotta want to stay in
- 17:38Speaker 4: that game any way possible. And the right leg. I've
- 17:41Speaker 4: seen the right I've seen guys pull their hamstring on
- 17:43Speaker 4: their front leg hitting, never on their back leg. I've
- 17:47Speaker 4: gotten a cramp swinging on my back leg before I've
- 17:51Speaker 4: I've done it hot summer game, right leg right hand
- 17:55Speaker 4: me cramps up. You're like, oh, oh, don't like that.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Something bit me.
- 18:03Speaker 3: He sizzling today. They need chero by the way, they're
- 18:06Speaker 3: best bat.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Right now, he'll be back.

- 19:46Speaker 3: it around, okay, But KP. I want to start here
- 19:49Speaker 3: because I remember a two oh series lead for the
- 19:51Speaker 3: Seattle Mariners and you said things are about to get funky.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Good call. Blue Jays won the next two. How does
- 19:58Speaker 3: it get funky from here as the best of three?
- 20:02Speaker 7: It doesn't.
- 20:03Speaker 8: It doesn't get funky anymore. I think the series is over.
- 20:07Speaker 8: Hey Todd, it's great to see you. But I was
- 20:10Speaker 8: really looking forward to seeing a j today too, because
- 20:13Speaker 8: he gave me great advice when I get into this
- 20:15Speaker 8: media uh business, that you gotta be your authentic self.
- 20:18Speaker 8: You gotta tell the truth. Some people are not gonna
- 20:21Speaker 8: like what you said. And I took his advice and
- 20:24Speaker 8: I said what I said, and I got buried by
- 20:27Speaker 8: a lot of Seattle fans call me a homer blah
- 20:29Speaker 8: blah blah, But that was my honest opinion. That's how
- 20:32Speaker 8: I really felt, and and it's coming true right now.
- 20:35Speaker 8: But to answer your question, I think the funkiness is gone.
- 20:38Speaker 8: I think it's over.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Finished. Wow, I'm changing my lock for the for after
- 20:45Speaker 4: the game.
- 20:46Speaker 3: K K, Well, give us more crats like we did
- 20:51Speaker 3: a show. Yeah, Okape, what do you think? Why do
- 20:54Speaker 3: you say that?
- 20:56Speaker 4: Well?
- 20:56Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean I'm just watching this offense and it's
- 20:59Speaker 8: just relentless. It's one through nine, and yeah, we could
- 21:02Speaker 8: talk about Vladie what he's doing, but it's every single
- 21:05Speaker 8: person every night contributing their quality of their at bats.
- 21:09Speaker 7: I've never seen anything like it.
- 21:10Speaker 1: You know.
- 21:10Speaker 8: I even went back and watched old playoff games that
- 21:13Speaker 8: I was a part of and I played in, and
- 21:14Speaker 8: I'm like, there was holes in those lineups.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You know.
- 21:16Speaker 7: I was one of those holes.
- 21:17Speaker 8: I could have my day where I could go out
- 21:19Speaker 8: and get my couple hits, but the quality of my
- 21:21Speaker 8: bats throughout the po layoffs, we're just so up and
- 21:24Speaker 8: down one through nine, no matter who they're putting in there,
- 21:28Speaker 8: whatever button Schneider puts in, Like last night, he decides,
- 21:31Speaker 8: you know what, santan Terra's.
- 21:32Speaker 7: Back's not good.
- 21:33Speaker 8: We're gonna replace him on the roster. Hey, let's play
- 21:35Speaker 8: a guy in right field who hasn't been out there
- 21:37Speaker 8: in a month, goes out there, makes three amazing defensive plays,
- 21:40Speaker 8: hits an opposite field RBI ikf is insured in the
- 21:43Speaker 8: lineup at second base, hasn't played at all this series
- 21:47Speaker 8: gets the rally started with a double down loll field line,
- 21:49Speaker 8: How's another hit, How's a sacrifice butt? It's just relentless.
- 21:54Speaker 8: And then when you watch the Seattle offense, it's just
- 21:57Speaker 8: it kind of feels like what I had talked about
- 21:59Speaker 8: with the phill It looks like they have a ton
- 22:02Speaker 8: of talent in their lineup, and it's like each one
- 22:04Speaker 8: of you just go out and do whatever you think
- 22:06Speaker 8: is best to try to slug where it looks like
- 22:09Speaker 8: the Blue Jays lineup that doesn't look I know for
- 22:11Speaker 8: a fact because I've talked to him. They have a
- 22:13Speaker 8: very collective approach on how they want to attack a
- 22:16Speaker 8: picture on any given day. What you saw they did
- 22:19Speaker 8: two nights ago. They had eighteen hits, and all eighteen
- 22:23Speaker 8: of them came within the first three pitchers.
- 22:25Speaker 1: To day.
- 22:25Speaker 8: I bat you think that was on accident. You think
- 22:27Speaker 8: all guys just decided, hey, we're gonna swing early. No,
- 22:30Speaker 8: that was their collective plan. They knew they had a
- 22:32Speaker 8: strike thrower on the mound that had really good stuff,
- 22:34Speaker 8: and they said, let's get them early.
- 22:37Speaker 4: So they've been unafraid of changing their approach because that's
- 22:41Speaker 4: why they lost Game one really against the guy that
- 22:44Speaker 4: they're facing tonight, in the fact that they were like, hey,
- 22:47Speaker 4: you know what to me, they had two choices. They
- 22:50Speaker 4: could go, Bryce Miller is gased, this whole team is gassed.
- 22:53Speaker 4: We're just gonna wear them down and kind of get
- 22:55Speaker 4: away from our approach, and they said, no, screw it,
- 22:58Speaker 4: we're gonna stay We're gonna stay aggressive. Are they able
- 23:02Speaker 4: to or do they need to veer from that approach
- 23:05Speaker 4: at all as a team.
- 23:07Speaker 8: I mean, that's a tough question to answer because I mean,
- 23:10Speaker 8: obviously what they did all year has got them to
- 23:13Speaker 8: this point. But I think the Blue Jays how they
- 23:17Speaker 8: have attacked these pitchers, and I know Seattle their starting
- 23:21Speaker 8: staff is elite, and what makes them e lead is
- 23:23Speaker 8: they probably throw strike one more than most teams do
- 23:26Speaker 8: and they attack the zone. But I at this point,
- 23:30Speaker 8: you've got to try something a little bit different. Maybe
- 23:32Speaker 8: not Bryce Miller because he did have some success facing
- 23:35Speaker 8: them in game one, but maybe you've got to try
- 23:39Speaker 8: to pitch a little bit unconventional. Maybe try to you know,
- 23:43Speaker 8: pitch backwards. Maybe maybe try to get some chase early
- 23:47Speaker 8: in the account. Because if they just continue to attack
- 23:49Speaker 8: the zone, these Blue Jay hitters are ready to go.
- 23:53Speaker 7: The only thing they've changed.
- 23:55Speaker 8: It from games one and two to Game three is
- 23:57Speaker 8: John Schneider came out and said he wanted his team
- 23:59Speaker 8: to have less jabs and more uppercuts, and you know,
- 24:03Speaker 8: kind of reading between the lines as a player, that
- 24:05Speaker 8: just means, you know, take a little bit more aggressive swings,
- 24:08Speaker 8: don't just try to put the ball in play, hunt
- 24:10Speaker 8: your zone, and when you get that pitch, don't be
- 24:12Speaker 8: afraid to try to drive it.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I want to talk a little bit about the mad Man,
- 24:17Speaker 2: Max Schuser.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I mean this guy, mad Max.
- 24:20Speaker 2: He's absolutely filthy, coming in giving five really good innings
- 24:23Speaker 2: of one run baseball, his energy, his emotion, his never
- 24:28Speaker 2: ending fear to let you know how he really feels,
- 24:31Speaker 2: and telling Schnyder, I want to go out there and
- 24:33Speaker 2: I want to keep going here. Talk a little bit
- 24:34Speaker 2: about his prowess and what he brings and mean to
- 24:37Speaker 2: this team.
- 24:38Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, I was in the press room after
- 24:40Speaker 8: and I couldn't man up and ask him a question,
- 24:43Speaker 8: but I had one prepared. I wanted to ask him,
- 24:46Speaker 8: do you prefer to be referred to as a maniac,
- 24:49Speaker 8: a lunatic or a psychopath? But I didn't have the
- 24:53Speaker 8: courage to do it.
- 24:55Speaker 7: But this guy's.
- 24:56Speaker 8: Energy is unlike anything that I've ever seen out of
- 25:00Speaker 8: a pitcher.
- 25:01Speaker 7: Starting pitcher.
- 25:02Speaker 8: Normally, you'll get that kind of high energy, kind of
- 25:05Speaker 8: psychotic sort of energy out of a bullpen arm because
- 25:08Speaker 8: it's such a sprint. You get in the mound, maybe
- 25:10Speaker 8: you got to get one, two or three outs. You're
- 25:13Speaker 8: emptying the gas tank from you know, the first pitch
- 25:15Speaker 8: to the last one you throw. You could come off
- 25:17Speaker 8: and kind of exhale and show your emotion because you
- 25:21Speaker 8: know you're not going back out there. This guy pitches
- 25:23Speaker 8: like a high end reliever. You know, just even watching
- 25:27Speaker 8: him throwing the bullpen, this guy's calling his own game
- 25:30Speaker 8: out there. He's calling balls and strikes, he's punching out
- 25:32Speaker 8: invisible hitters. He's coming into the dugout, He's throwing coaches
- 25:36Speaker 8: out of the way. It's just his personality. I mean,
- 25:40Speaker 8: the closest thing that I've ever kind of played with
- 25:43Speaker 8: is someone like Josh Donaldson, which you played with as well.
- 25:46Speaker 8: Is when you have someone that is that intense and
- 25:49Speaker 8: that crazy, and I was a very kind of calm, cool,
- 25:52Speaker 8: collective type of player. You have no doubt to kind
- 25:56Speaker 8: of raise your emotions, You have no doubt. You have
- 25:58Speaker 8: no choice but to kind of rise to the moment.
- 26:00Speaker 8: And what he was able to do at forty one
- 26:02Speaker 8: years old not touching a mound, not just a big
- 26:05Speaker 8: league mound, but he didn't even pitch in a rehab
- 26:07Speaker 8: game in the minor leagues for three weeks to go
- 26:10Speaker 8: out there at age forty one.
- 26:13Speaker 7: I think we found out during the game last night.
- 26:14Speaker 8: It was as he threw his hardest pitches in over
- 26:16Speaker 8: three years. Talk about a first bout Hall of Famer,
- 26:21Speaker 8: stepping up and answering the bell when his team needed it.
- 26:24Speaker 8: It was it was fun to watch.
- 26:26Speaker 5: What's the feeling in Seattle, not with the teams, but
- 26:30Speaker 5: kind of in the stadium, is it Obviously when the
- 26:32Speaker 5: team's losing, everyone's like.
- 26:33Speaker 4: Oh, I can't believe we're losing. This is the worst.
- 26:37Speaker 4: But is there like that, like same popping, popping, jumping
- 26:42Speaker 4: around when everybody was getting getting on you for saying,
- 26:46Speaker 4: you know, the Jay's are going to take this back
- 26:48Speaker 4: to Toronto. Are they still as confident?
- 26:51Speaker 7: No, they are not. I will tell you.
- 26:54Speaker 8: I will tell you the first day I got here,
- 26:56Speaker 8: I flew in on the day of Game three, got
- 26:59Speaker 8: to the hotel, went out, grabbed some lunch before I
- 27:03Speaker 8: went to the stadium. Walking around the city, you see
- 27:07Speaker 8: nothing but Mariners jerseys and Mariners attire. Strangers in the
- 27:12Speaker 8: street high five in each other. You know, this is
- 27:15Speaker 8: the biggest game they've had in Seattle, and a playoff game,
- 27:19Speaker 8: and I think it's twenty four years And the excitement
- 27:23Speaker 8: level in that stadium on Game three was, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 8: one of the best atmospheres that I had seen in baseball.
- 27:29Speaker 8: People were really excited for what the Mariners had done
- 27:32Speaker 8: on the road, where they had gotten to at this point,
- 27:36Speaker 8: and after they lost Game one, there was a little
- 27:38Speaker 8: bit of optimism yesterday. But when the Blue just kind
- 27:42Speaker 8: of took the lead there early on in the game,
- 27:45Speaker 8: there was not a lot of energy in there. You
- 27:48Speaker 8: know they tried to maybe try to manufacture something a
- 27:50Speaker 8: little bit later. You know, I think when you Inineo
- 27:54Speaker 8: had that base hit, the game was still kind of
- 27:57Speaker 8: within striking distance at that point, and then when Josh
- 28:00Speaker 8: Taylor made that last out of third base, you could
- 28:03Speaker 8: see people kind of turning around, looking towards the exit
- 28:06Speaker 8: and trying to decide if it was time to believe or not.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Tell us where Gosman steps up tonight or how he
- 28:12Speaker 4: steps up. He's been one of their most consistent pitchers,
- 28:15Speaker 4: is the best pitcher on the team right now. He
- 28:18Speaker 4: sees old Man River throw last night. Do you think
- 28:21Speaker 4: he's a guy that feeds off of that, feeds off
- 28:25Speaker 4: the fact that Max did what he did and he's like,
- 28:28Speaker 4: I'm taking us back to Toronto to close it out in
- 28:32Speaker 4: Game six, not just give it my best. Or is
- 28:35Speaker 4: he not that kind of guy?
- 28:37Speaker 8: No, I think they have polar opposite sort of demeanors
- 28:40Speaker 8: when it comes to starting pitching, Like Gosmand do your
- 28:43Speaker 8: typical starting pitcher. This is just my opinion because I've
- 28:46Speaker 8: never been in the clubhouse with him. I didn't play
- 28:47Speaker 8: with him, but he seems like a guy who has
- 28:50Speaker 8: his routine you probably don't talk to him during his start.
- 28:54Speaker 8: He's kind of head down, headphones on, just kind of
- 28:57Speaker 8: focused on what he needs to do. But don't let
- 29:01Speaker 8: that fool you for the type of competitor he is
- 29:02Speaker 8: once he steps on the mound. But I would imagine
- 29:06Speaker 8: within that pitching staff and crads, maybe you would know
- 29:09Speaker 8: this better. As being a catcher, there's always that friendly
- 29:12Speaker 8: competition to kind of one up each other. And I
- 29:14Speaker 8: think what Biaber did starting in Game three kind of
- 29:18Speaker 8: set this bar for the pitching staff moving forward in
- 29:21Speaker 8: this series. And then Schurezer goes out and kind of
- 29:23Speaker 8: tops that, and I would expect Gosman to kind of
- 29:26Speaker 8: go out and.
- 29:27Speaker 7: Top what Schuser did.
- 29:28Speaker 8: He's the one guy that I think, more than anyone
- 29:32Speaker 8: in this pitching staff, John Schneider has the utmost faith
- 29:36Speaker 8: in He's got the longest leash. He's earned that, he's
- 29:38Speaker 8: been their ace, you know, from the moment he's signed
- 29:42Speaker 8: to be there. I expect him to go deep into
- 29:44Speaker 8: this game. I expect him to once again kind of
- 29:48Speaker 8: feed off the emotions that the Mariners are feeling right now.
- 29:51Speaker 8: They are feeling a sense of huge desperation, almost to
- 29:56Speaker 8: the sense where you could kind of almost feel that
- 29:58Speaker 8: there's gonna be some heroic type of swings being taken
- 30:02Speaker 8: from the Seattle players. Each individual guy is trying to
- 30:05Speaker 8: get theirs to try to maybe spark their offense or
- 30:08Speaker 8: spark their team, and I think that feeds right into
- 30:11Speaker 8: gosmand ability to just keep throwing that splitter below the
- 30:15Speaker 8: zone and keep getting some chase.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Hey, you're playing right into my question when you say
- 30:20Speaker 3: heroic swings. So first I'll start it with a joke.
- 30:22Speaker 3: In which inning in this next game do you think
- 30:25Speaker 3: Andre Samenez will hit a two run home run to
- 30:27Speaker 3: right field? All kidding aside, though I want to I
- 30:29Speaker 3: want to preface this. Okay, fourth inning, no third, third,
- 30:34Speaker 3: third inning.
- 30:36Speaker 8: Just like the last two nights, Just like the last
- 30:38Speaker 8: two nights, the third inc same situation, And he was
- 30:41Speaker 8: really honest about like and you could tell and being
- 30:45Speaker 8: able to kind of get the behind the scenes and
- 30:47Speaker 8: talking to him and being able to look at all
- 30:49Speaker 8: the different video angles. You know what he said in
- 30:53Speaker 8: the first game is he was just trying to get
- 30:55Speaker 8: the run over.
- 30:56Speaker 7: And I was in the booth with.
- 30:57Speaker 8: Caleb Joseph and we went back and watched the swing
- 31:00Speaker 8: and over he actually choked up on the bat after
- 31:02Speaker 8: his first swing and miss. He choked up on the back.
- 31:04Speaker 8: He was just trying to put the ball in play,
- 31:06Speaker 8: moving the runner over, being the nine hole hitter, a
- 31:09Speaker 8: very high baseball IQ guy, and gets rewarded with the
- 31:13Speaker 8: home run. And then you go to the next night,
- 31:15Speaker 8: the same exact situation. He gets two oh, and he
- 31:18Speaker 8: takes this gigantic swing where he looked like he was
- 31:21Speaker 8: trying to jump ship and repeat what he did the
- 31:23Speaker 8: night before. Then he gets into an even count two
- 31:26Speaker 8: and two, and he fights off some pitches, and then
- 31:29Speaker 8: we saw that maybe he wasn't as comfortable off Castillo
- 31:33Speaker 8: as the bat went on, and he went for having
- 31:35Speaker 8: a lake kick to basically like a Bobashett get the
- 31:38Speaker 8: foot down early situation, and was able to kind of
- 31:41Speaker 8: repeat and have this kind of deja vum moment, same inning,
- 31:45Speaker 8: same situation, puts his team up in the third inning,
- 31:48Speaker 8: just trying to move a runner over.
- 31:51Speaker 3: That's hey, he should do that more often. Just being real.
- 31:55Speaker 3: I mean, Andre's had a brutal season at the play.
- 31:57Speaker 3: He started this year as the cleanup hitter. I remember
- 31:59Speaker 3: we were like, huh, he's got to be the cleanup
- 32:00Speaker 3: hitter is Toronto serious. And then eventually so you moved down
- 32:03Speaker 3: to the lineup and he had a rough year. It's
- 32:05Speaker 3: just that's what the playoffs are all about. Korgey Polanka,
- 32:09Speaker 3: Andre Semenez, guys like that who suddenly look like stars
- 32:13Speaker 3: and they're in the history books and the whole deal.
- 32:14Speaker 3: The follow up I had real quick is aggressive swings
- 32:18Speaker 3: and doing damage in the zone. Isn't that what players
- 32:21Speaker 3: are always trying to do. I know Game three was
- 32:23Speaker 3: unique because they were doing it always early in counts.
- 32:25Speaker 3: They drove up counts a little bit more in the
- 32:28Speaker 3: game four win. But I just want to get more
- 32:30Speaker 3: perspective on how a team actually changes approach like that,
- 32:34Speaker 3: if that's real, or if some of that's just kind
- 32:37Speaker 3: of making sure that your guys stay dialed into what
- 32:39Speaker 3: their game plan always should be. Spit at balls if
- 32:42Speaker 3: you see fastballs in the zone, go crazy with your
- 32:45Speaker 3: a swing.
- 32:47Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, I would say it's probably a little
- 32:49Speaker 8: bit of both. I mean, ultimately, as a competitor and
- 32:53Speaker 8: as a person staying in the batter's box, those are
- 32:56Speaker 8: kind of always the thing, So I think, yeah, maybe
- 32:58Speaker 8: it was a little reverse psychic coology from the manager.
- 33:02Speaker 8: But I think you just got to give a ton
- 33:03Speaker 8: of credit to the hitting coaches that Toronto brought in.
- 33:07Speaker 7: I think it's been.
- 33:09Speaker 8: I don't think I've been told it's just been a
- 33:11Speaker 8: culture changer, the fact that he's gotten every single person
- 33:16Speaker 8: to buy into what they believe. And the biggest thing
- 33:19Speaker 8: talking to them, you know, during VP, is they they
- 33:24Speaker 8: give the guys the freedom to chase.
- 33:25Speaker 7: Within the parameters of where they do damage.
- 33:28Speaker 8: Meaning, if you're a guy that likes the ball close
- 33:30Speaker 8: to you and you're a pool guy, it's okay to chase,
- 33:33Speaker 8: chase sinkers in off the plate, It's okay to chase
- 33:35Speaker 8: the backup slider in. If you're a guy who likes
- 33:39Speaker 8: the ball out over the play and up, you know,
- 33:41Speaker 8: you have freedom to chase in those areas. So I
- 33:43Speaker 8: think the guys just understanding that you don't have to
- 33:46Speaker 8: be perfect. I think a lot of hitting coaches around baseball,
- 33:51Speaker 8: you know, make hitting seem like it's really easy, like, hey,
- 33:54Speaker 8: just look for the fastball out over the play and
- 33:57Speaker 8: when the slider pops, you know, just take the same swing.
- 33:59Speaker 8: It's really not that easy. It's not that easy to
- 34:02Speaker 8: hunt a fastball here, recognize a pitch here. But when
- 34:04Speaker 8: you could kind of narrow your focus into what you
- 34:07Speaker 8: do well, what side of the plate you do well,
- 34:09Speaker 8: and you have freedom to not be perfect every time
- 34:11Speaker 8: you swing the bat. Uh there's a lot of sense
- 34:14Speaker 8: of freedom in that.
- 34:16Speaker 4: KP. Real quick. You said they're going to the World Series,
- 34:20Speaker 4: name your first two first pitch throwers for the Blue Jays,
- 34:25Speaker 4: so the Blue Jay fans can get absolutely amped about
- 34:28Speaker 4: who they're going to see and in the first two
- 34:30Speaker 4: games throwing the first pitch since you're already off the table.
- 34:34Speaker 8: Yeah, and I don't think I'll be asked to do
- 34:36Speaker 8: it anytime soon. Uh ru Yeah, unless I you know,
- 34:40Speaker 8: if I get an opportunity to do it again, I'm
- 34:42Speaker 8: gonna man up and just jug out to shallow and
- 34:45Speaker 8: just let one rip, because then there's no expectations for
- 34:47Speaker 8: me to get it home.
- 34:50Speaker 7: Who would they.
- 34:51Speaker 8: Roll out Who would they roll out for the first
- 34:54Speaker 8: two games of the World Series if they get there
- 34:56Speaker 8: or when they get there. I would imagine Joe Carter's
- 34:59Speaker 8: probab probably on a short list of guys they would
- 35:04Speaker 8: roll out there, maybe Dave Steve's I mean, I don't know,
- 35:08Speaker 8: I would imagine Joe Carter would maybe be the guy
- 35:10Speaker 8: they'd roll out there for for Game one. I do
- 35:14Speaker 8: have a little bit of maybe inside info, who who
- 35:16Speaker 8: may be thrown out the first pitch for Game six
- 35:19Speaker 8: back in Toronto, now that they've guaranteed himself an opportunity
- 35:22Speaker 8: to go play at least one more game in the
- 35:25Speaker 8: Rogers Center.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Tell us I have an educated guess. I'm just gonna
- 35:30Speaker 3: ask it real quick as a question. Has Jose Bautista
- 35:32Speaker 3: thrown out of first pitch yet? Was he already there?
- 35:35Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 35:35Speaker 8: I'm not sure if he has. I'm not sure if
- 35:37Speaker 8: he has. I mean, there's there's a chance that.
- 35:43Speaker 7: I think he did.
- 35:43Speaker 8: I think he did when they I think he did
- 35:45Speaker 8: when they put his name up in the level of excellence.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Right, what I'm saying for this postseason, he hasn't thrown
- 35:52Speaker 3: one out, So he's still available on the bench, ready
- 35:55Speaker 3: to get the phone call.
- 35:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I think go gos Of available. I think uh,
- 36:01Speaker 8: Dianna Navarro is available. Uh, you know Colobello Adam Blend
- 36:07Speaker 8: is available. He wasn't on postseason team. Uh, but that
- 36:10Speaker 8: you know Muninori cow I would say, bring Muninoria Kawasaki
- 36:14Speaker 8: out for for you know, game six and really just
- 36:17Speaker 8: energize that stadium that doesn't really need any more electricity.
- 36:21Speaker 8: But what a scene that would be. You know, everyone's
- 36:24Speaker 8: maybe expecting a everyone's expecting a Jose Batista or Edwin
- 36:29Speaker 8: already did it. You know, Donaldson already did it. You're
- 36:31Speaker 8: expecting a player like Jose to you know, come out
- 36:34Speaker 8: of the dugout and all of a sudden, it's just
- 36:37Speaker 8: all in Japanese and everyone's like, what what's going on?
- 36:39Speaker 8: And then Muoninori Kawisaki comes out there holding a couple
- 36:43Speaker 8: of bananas, which maybe, hey, which, maybe Jackson Cherios needs
- 36:47Speaker 8: to eat more bananas because you know, in the fame
- 36:50Speaker 8: he and the famous words and Muninori Kawasaki monkeys never cramped.
- 36:55Speaker 3: It's true, true, true, he knows he talk.
- 37:01Speaker 8: You thrown out of first pitch before, and I'm sure
- 37:03Speaker 8: you have, and you made it.
- 37:04Speaker 2: To Home Blake opening then in Cincinnati right on the
- 37:07Speaker 2: outside corner, strike three, baby, I threw.
- 37:09Speaker 1: A firm too.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Paint paint. We'll send you the clip. We got a
- 37:14Speaker 3: run kp or the man have a great show later
- 37:17Speaker 3: and we'll see if the blue Jays went out here
- 37:20Speaker 3: like you're talking about all.
- 37:21Speaker 7: Right, I'll see you guys.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Let's show this tweet from Keegan Matheson about Surezer passing
- 37:28Speaker 3: manager John Schneider, who is a close second to Pat
- 37:31Speaker 3: Murphy in this postseason for epic quotes even when he's
- 37:35Speaker 3: not on the podium. Schneider apparently passed him and with
- 37:39Speaker 3: a big slap on his back said all right, you psycho,
- 37:42Speaker 3: get in there. Your term to talk to the media.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Schneid's was pumped to get like the get the hell
- 37:50Speaker 3: out of my face essentially from Schurzer and go back
- 37:53Speaker 3: to your damn dugout, stop removing pictures early Toronto, talking
- 37:56Speaker 3: to the organization in general. I felt like that was
- 37:58Speaker 3: like a bigger message, like you stop it, and not
- 38:02Speaker 3: just you John, I'm talking about all of you, all
- 38:04Speaker 3: of you management. You leave us alone, where the labor,
- 38:07Speaker 3: where the employees, go back to your damn dug out
- 38:08Speaker 3: and let me finish this damn inning and then go
- 38:11Speaker 3: into the next one.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Mike drop thanks to the mic drop moment on the mound, YEP.
- 38:17Speaker 4: I don't appreciate Max pushing pushing Pete Walker when he
- 38:23Speaker 4: came in like he came down the steps and Pete
- 38:25Speaker 4: wanted to say something to him, and he kind of
- 38:27Speaker 4: like kind he kind of bumped them. After he settles
- 38:31Speaker 4: down after his start. If I'm the manager, I'm gonna
- 38:34Speaker 4: be like, I love everything you do. I can't have
- 38:37Speaker 4: mutiny in the dugout, he.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Was in my way, I'm a psycho. You know what
- 38:45Speaker 3: you signed up for. I'm forty one years old.
- 38:48Speaker 4: But they but they also but they also had a
- 38:52Speaker 4: clip they showed it. The whole dugout was superjuiced talking
- 38:56Speaker 4: about what Max did. Like you saw like Vladdy Laddy.
- 39:00Speaker 4: He was like, I was in there. I was in there.
- 39:02Speaker 4: And you talk about energy, you talk about how like
- 39:05Speaker 4: how does that affect a team? That clip should be
- 39:08Speaker 4: clipped for everybody, every front office who's like, I don't
- 39:11Speaker 4: know this guy's his fip E RA warranted plus minus
- 39:17Speaker 4: negative is not great. But what he brings to the
- 39:21Speaker 4: mound obviously has to do good. But that energy and
- 39:23Speaker 4: everything permeates the whole team.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Yeah, and he didn't have a good year, but this
- 39:28Speaker 3: starts worth the whole contract, right If I mean, if
- 39:31Speaker 3: you don't have that, you you're probably bounced. If you're
- 39:35Speaker 3: down three to one, you're in trouble. Bieber two Bieber
- 39:38Speaker 3: had ups and downs with them, but that starts the
- 39:41Speaker 3: other day, which, okay, A couple questions here. First off,
- 39:49Speaker 3: John said in the check, can we be sure that
- 39:51Speaker 3: teams aren't cheating anymore? Without wanting to accuse any team
- 39:54Speaker 3: in particular, I mean, I by cheating, is he mean?
- 40:00Speaker 3: Does he mean like illegal sign stealing, tech sign stealing?
- 40:04Speaker 3: The tipping thing this year that took over, Like that's
- 40:06Speaker 3: that's legal as far as I know. I mean, you're
- 40:09Speaker 3: you're using AI to figure out tips, but you relay
- 40:13Speaker 3: that to your team, and then someone standing at second
- 40:15Speaker 3: base allowed to say what they're seeing. Now, I don't know.
- 40:20Speaker 1: What he's trying to say.
- 40:21Speaker 3: The only thing I can. We joked about this and
- 40:25Speaker 3: it went a little viral for I think it went
- 40:27Speaker 3: more viral because he had no idea what he was
- 40:28Speaker 3: talking about. But Craig Carton put out a thing about
- 40:31Speaker 3: Bryce Miller saying he's like a no name scrub, but
- 40:34Speaker 3: he doesn't even know who he is. And then he
- 40:36Speaker 3: was trying to say how the Jays are cheating and
- 40:37Speaker 3: he'll die on that, he'll but he was saying they're
- 40:40Speaker 3: cheating against that they looked bad against Bryce Miller. Okay,
- 40:44Speaker 3: but Bryce Miller was pitching in Toronto like the home road.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Part of what he was saying made no sense. Literally
- 40:49Speaker 3: nothing he said made sense. But that's the I haven't
- 40:51Speaker 3: seen anybody else throw anything else out there that's gotten legs.
- 40:55Speaker 4: But people will always be cheating. People will always be cheating.
- 40:59Speaker 4: You have to understand that because there's so much money
- 41:03Speaker 4: in having elite success. I know somebody that won a
- 41:05Speaker 4: batting title and he was caught with somebody with binoculars
- 41:11Speaker 4: in center field? So did he do that all the time?
- 41:14Speaker 4: Did that? Is that the reason that he had just
- 41:16Speaker 4: an incredible year is a good player. It's just it's
- 41:21Speaker 4: one of those things. There's always but to tech stuff.
- 41:23Speaker 4: Major Leaue Baseball has done a really good job of
- 41:25Speaker 4: controlling a lot of the tech stuff.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Hey, let's slap Todd father and I worked really hard
- 41:43Speaker 3: for fifteen seconds to do an Instagram story on the
- 41:46Speaker 3: Foul Territory Instagram account. You can vote for which team
- 41:49Speaker 3: you think is going to represent the AL in the
- 41:50Speaker 3: World Series. Currently at fifty three percent Jas forty Mariners.
- 41:54Speaker 3: It is close, ye, mister Kratz.
- 42:01Speaker 5: Oh team and these just watch what's going on. Watch
- 42:05Speaker 5: how the Dodgers have built what they've built, and stop
- 42:07Speaker 5: being a small market team small just get after it.
- 42:13Speaker 5: Your team is there to win. That's what the Red
- 42:15Speaker 5: Sox do.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Don't sleep on the Zach Scott interview if you want
- 42:19Speaker 3: to watch it back on YouTube or we'll post it
- 42:21Speaker 3: podcast wise on Monday Morning where he said he used
- 42:23Speaker 3: to work for Red Talxs owner John Henry. He said
- 42:26Speaker 3: he used to be balls to the wall, but now
- 42:28Speaker 3: he thinks the playoffs are a crapshoot. Those were his words.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I was like, wow, you just throw darts out of dartboard.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Oh Dodgers one they.
- 42:42Speaker 2: With teams not in the playoffs. Day should voice some
- 42:46Speaker 2: wonderful baseball tonight.
