- 0:01Hi, my name is Precia Mosley. I've been speaking out for a
- 0:04number of years about the harms of medical transition and it's
- 0:09been a few years now. ID transitioned in mid to late
- 0:132022. I sued my doctors in 2023 and
- 0:18I'm still fighting for justice to hold them accountable and
- 0:21I've just been trying to live as normal of a life as I can post D
- 0:26transition as possible but I just wanted to talk about some
- 0:30of how irreversible the medicalization is even years
- 0:33later because I'm still dealing with a lot of side effects.
- 0:38I've been able to have some hair regrowth, but I have to be on
- 0:41minoxidil and do hair treatments and stuff for the rest of my
- 0:45life to keep back what I have grown back, which isn't too
- 0:48much, but it's better than it used to be and I am grateful for
- 0:52that. I still need laser hair removal
- 0:54treatment even now that a few years have passed and the public
- 0:59knows more about the transitioners.
- 1:01I'm still not getting coverage for things like that or the
- 1:04hormones I need, but I still have to shave my face every time
- 1:07I take a shower. I have had children now, a
- 1:12child. I've been able to give birth
- 1:15because I was not on puberty blockers after being given
- 1:20fertility treatments and dealing with that.
- 1:22But, you know, detransition effects motherhood.
- 1:26I didn't think when I was 17 years old that I would ever want
- 1:31to be a mother or feel healthy or strong or safe enough.
- 1:34And my doctors never considered it when they cut my breasts off
- 1:38when I was just a teenager and I didn't know better.
- 1:41And all for a scam, a lie, a transition that didn't even
- 1:46work. I'm also having to get blood
- 1:49work a lot because my hormones continue to be dysregulated.
- 1:53I still have high androgens even years after stopping the
- 1:57testosterone shots and all the effects that come with that
- 2:00including PCOS, insulin resistance.
- 2:03My liver is twice the size it's supposed to be.
- 2:05I've had non alcoholic fatty liver disease since I was 19 or
- 2:0920 years old. The list of side effects goes on
- 2:12and on. And like I said, it affects
- 2:16being a mother, it affects the child that I was able to have
- 2:20and everything else. And these effects just haven't
- 2:24gone away. And on top of that, there aren't
- 2:27doctors or research or anyone to help D transitioners after the
- 2:31fact because everything that happened to me, from the
- 2:34testosterone injections to the double mastectomy and changing
- 2:37my name and everything, it was all a giant experiment.
- 2:40A medical experiment that ultimately failed because I
- 2:44didn't turn into a man. And now, 10 years down the line,
- 2:47I'm a woman with numerous health conditions who doesn't believe
- 2:52that she's trans or hate herself anymore.
- 2:55And I'm dealing with side effects and health issues that I
- 2:58never would have had to deal with in the 1st place if my
- 3:00doctors had never validated these beliefs that I had when I
- 3:05hated myself and I needed guidance.
- 3:07I really wish my doctors would have just sat down and told me
- 3:11the truth. I wish they would have told me
- 3:13that I would be having to go get blood work and being attached to
- 3:17the pharmacy and taking hormones and prescriptions and bone
- 3:20density tests and MRI's and surgery and everything else for
- 3:24the rest of my life just because of these beliefs I had.
- 3:27I wish that they had told me the truth.
- 3:29I wish they hadn't threatened me with lies and made me feel like
- 3:33I had no other option but to transition or die.
- 3:36But my doctors weren't honest with me and so I'm dealing with
- 3:38the consequences and so is my family.
- 3:41Hopefully doctors stop prescribing these treatments to
- 3:43young people or anyone soon and other doctors, ethical doctors
- 3:48learn how to deal with the damage.
- 3:50Thanks for listening.
