Montgomery County’s new Public Defender Director, Timothy Young, brings over 30 years of legal experience back home—after serving as Ohio’s top public defender from 2008 to 2025. A University of Dayton Law graduate, Young helped overhaul criminal discovery, self-defense laws, attorney compensation, and even launched Ohio’s Wrongful Conviction Project.
