  SPEAKER_00: Do you guys ever feel discouraged because you're always trying to do your best and

  SPEAKER_00: it seems like everybody around you couldn't even care less?

  SPEAKER_00: I'll give you an example.

  SPEAKER_00: Do you ever have that one person at work who comes in 10 minutes late,

  SPEAKER_00: leaves 10 minutes early and spends most of the day on their cell phone?

  SPEAKER_00: Or here's another one.

  SPEAKER_00: Do you have to work with someone at church or kids sports team who signs up to
• 0:43
  SPEAKER_00: volunteer and then never shows or they come right before everything's been done?

  SPEAKER_00: It's so aggravating.

  SPEAKER_00: And then soon you start to think, well, why should I care so much if nobody else does?

  SPEAKER_00: Or why should I give 100% when others don't even give 50%?

  SPEAKER_00: why should i keep showing up when no one else thinks it's important well i

  SPEAKER_00: personally think it is important and i'll give you three reasons why we should do

  SPEAKER_00: the right thing even when no one else does number one we follow christ's example

  SPEAKER_00: I've said it a lot.

  SPEAKER_00: For Christians, our bar is just set higher because we follow a perfect example.

  SPEAKER_00: And even though we're never going to be perfect, we got to try, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Jesus loved those who could do nothing for him.
• 1:32
  SPEAKER_00: He gave his life for people who actually hated him.
• 1:36
  SPEAKER_00: He did the right thing, even to the point of his death on a cross.

  SPEAKER_00: You know, in Romans 5.8, I'm going to read out of the New King James Version.

  SPEAKER_00: It says,

  SPEAKER_00: but God demonstrates his own love toward us in that while we were still sinners,
• 1:50
  SPEAKER_00: Christ died for us.
• 1:53
  SPEAKER_00: Number two, we are witnesses for God.

  SPEAKER_00: People pay attention to what we do and how we live day to day.

  SPEAKER_00: The people around you, the cashier at the convenience store or

  SPEAKER_00: The mechanic you take your car to or the guy who lives in your neighborhood,

  SPEAKER_00: they all notice how you live your life.

  SPEAKER_00: Our character, I think, should reflect God's values and his characteristics.

  SPEAKER_00: People should be able to see that we're different than the world.

  SPEAKER_00: Okay, number three, we answer to God, not others.
• 2:28
  SPEAKER_00: Yep, even Christians have a judgment.
• 2:30
  SPEAKER_00: It's called the Bema Seat Judgment, and you can find out more about it in 2 Corinthians 5.10.

  SPEAKER_00: But that judgment isn't to decide whether we go to heaven or hell,
• 2:39
  SPEAKER_00: because we're Christians,
• 2:41
  SPEAKER_00: but where the works we've done on earth will be tested.

  SPEAKER_00: So how we live is important.
• 2:49
  SPEAKER_00: You know, our integrity is built on doing the right thing, whether people see it or not.

  SPEAKER_00: Romans 14, 12 says, so then each of us shall give an account of himself to God.

  SPEAKER_00: Each of us wants to hear that well done, good and faithful servant.

  SPEAKER_00: So friends, let's not lose heart.

  SPEAKER_00: After all, serving the Lord to the best of our ability is a privilege.

  SPEAKER_00: it's going to get hard and sometimes we're going to feel like giving up,
• 3:17
  SPEAKER_00: but we got to keep going.

  SPEAKER_00: We have heaven to look forward to.

  SPEAKER_00: So be encouraged, guys.

  SPEAKER_00: Today, wherever you find yourself, do your best.
