- 0:00[upbeat rock music] Thank you very much for listening to the show tonight, and, uh, we hope you had a good time.
- 0:26[laughs] Show number 147 was the shortest show [laughs] we've done to date. Welcome and goodbye. [laughs] Yes. Thank you, and it's, yes, however that works. Quit while we're ahead.
- 0:36Hey, everybody, Full Spectrum Cycling Show number 147. 147. Back to the traditional lineup. JK to my right. Hello. Tony's sporting a new set of headphones to, [laughs] to talk across the table. Much, much better.
- 0:52I don't want to deal with those. I gotta do a little, uh, tech- I di- I heard-... technical difficulties... I heard nothing. I guess after- I heard nothing. But, uh- Did you hear it?
- 0:58No, I actually didn't have my cans on, so- Okay. [laughs] Much better. Yeah. [laughs] I also had this, like, noise canceled. It look, it looked like it was aggravating for two of you- [laughs]... so I figured why join?
- 1:07Those have, like, 300 shows on them though. [laughs] Yeah, well. Those, those have been around a long time. That said, they're, they haven't paid for themselves yet, so- [laughs]...
- 1:15if you feel like sending us money, go ahead. But- Yeah, we love money... you know, I don't even... Oh, we, you know what? I think we have a... Do we have a PayPal thing? I don't know, whatever. Yeah.
- 1:23Someday we'll try and monetize this puppy and make all you pay your way. Buy us crypto. Oh, hey, that, today was a good day. Pff, about freaking time. Well, I, it's like it's, it's, [laughs]
- 1:34right, it's, it was a better day than the last three weeks or two months or- Right... right around there. It's been kinda r- kinda rough. Hey, SHIB was in one of the, was one of the top movers today. I know.
- 1:47I'm ab- I'm almost making... I am making money a little bit now. [laughs] Right? That's a good thing. Not the 250% I was [laughs] two months ago. No, but that, you know, whatever. It's cyclical.
- 1:57It's, uh, it's- I don't know... roll with the punches... running. Uh, I don't know what's going on, what's going on. It was really, really, really cold on- Between here and yon... [laughs] between- And-...
- 2:09last week's show and today. Yes. And then one of those days, it started in the morning still cold and then got delightful by mid-afternoon. Yeah. Oh.
- 2:19[laughs] When, when you're seeing 30 and you're going, "Oh, I gotta peel layers." Yeah. Peel, peel, peel, peel.
- 2:26When you, when you ride by the, uh, Atwater Beach in the morning, is that usually, like, just right at 7:30 now or something in there? Yeah, it's between... It's right, yeah, between 7:30 and 8:00.
- 2:36That's bone-fide chilly. Yeah. Yeah. I usually see your... Well, you know, the, when you take pictures in the cold, they're better. That's what I- Yeah... that's what I hear. [laughs] Sure.
- 2:47[laughs] Well, I'll be like, "Uh, you're not convincing me that I- You're not, you're not convincing me... don't wanna take pictures in the heat." Well, the, the air is more clear.
- 2:53There's no, there's no shimmering from the heat. Oh, of course. Of course. I'm just saying. Yeah. You know? Whatever. Crisp. Hey, welcome to the radio program, caller. Who do we have on the line? Hey, uh, it's Big Sexy.
- 3:05Big. Big Sexy. Back in Louis- What's happening? Back in Louisiana, I read the other day on the old book face. Yeah, um, uh, okay. So who on the panel, who had Louisiana in January on the pool?
- 3:23[laughs] I, that was, uh, JK. I think JK called it. JK? That's when I was gonna get hit by my first car? What? Oh, what? What? I got clipped today by a little, uh, SUV.
- 3:40His rear view mirror hit my hand and my, uh, and my, uh, left handlebar. We went tumbling in the ditch, and, uh, the dude came running back, uh, screaming apologies,
- 3:54and, uh, nothing happened to Heather, but my hand is still pretty goddamn sore. Oh, that's a bummer. Was, was he apologetic or was he, uh, up in arms? Oh, it was really, really hard to be pissed at this guy.
- 4:08[laughs] He w- he was almost crying, he was so sorry. Oh, well, that's, that is- And I'm like, "Dude- That's cool... all you gotta do- That's how you do... is slow down and move over." Yeah. How fast was he going?
- 4:21It was, oh, it was maybe 35, 40 miles per hour. It was a little side road. It was nothing. Uh. Man. And I guess this guy was getting off of work.
- 4:31He had to go get his daughter, and he, he thought he cleared me, but he didn't. Oh, man. Well, well, I, I'm- It, it could've been way worse.
- 4:40We, we t- we took a tumble in the ditch, and Heather was like, "What the fuck was that all about?" [laughs] And I'm like, "You know," and, and all, all my beer spilled out of my cooler. He helped me pick up.
- 4:52He, he was... Like, it was really hard to be mad at this guy. Could he have just taken a lane or was there another car- No... coming the other direction? Well, it was, it was, uh, it was, uh, it was two-on-two traffic.
- 5:04It was, uh, one-on-one traffic, you know? Yeah. And, uh, and but there was nobody else there. It was, there was no traffic. It wa- it- Damn... he could've moved way over. He should've moved way over. But he didn't. Yeah.
- 5:17So did they don't have a law- Well, yeah, like he should've-... like, what is it in Wisconsin, three feet? It's at least three, yeah, three feet. Yeah, I mean, there is a law here that you have to give- Right...
- 5:24people three feet or you- Right. Like-... or you have to wait for them, uh- See-... until they get out of your way. Right. It's a, it's a, it's a national law, the three feet thing is. Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 5:32Some of them have even more, but, uh- Um- Yeah... right. But what he, he thought he had cleared me and he didn't, and he, and he was mortified. He was so... He was, he, he was almost in tears apologizing to me.
- 5:48You get some cash out of him? And I told him, I said, I said, I, I swe- I swear to God, I said, "The first person that hits me, if I live through it, they're getting their hatchet to the face."
- 5:59[laughs] And, and, and he said, he, he, and he kinda looked at me like, "Don't worry, I'm not gonna do that." The, the fact that he stopped- And came back- Right...
- 6:09made sure I was okay, and helped me fish, he helped me fish Heather out of the ditch and blah, blah.
- 6:16If, if Heather would've been damaged, I would've been calling the cops and, and, and getting his insurance information, but everything's fine. She took a tumble in the ditch.
- 6:24She's probably pissed about it, but at the same time we're okay. That's- That's good to hear. Yeah.
- 6:32I was, I wasn't even gonna call this week, 'cause like it, but it happened like an hour ago, so I was like- Oh, geez [laughs]... "Oh, I better, I better tell the boys about this one." [laughs] Well, irony. Wow, man.
- 6:42Yeah. Well, I'm glad you're okay, and Heather's okay too. I hope your hand, uh- Yeah... heals up nicely. Maybe a little Jagermeister salve would help that out a little bit. Yeah.
- 6:53Well, I'll, I'll tell you what, um, that like my mi- my ring finger and my pinky finger, like right underneath the fingernails is a, a little tender. Other than that we're just fine.
- 7:05I mean, d- don't, don't get me wrong, but- You could be soaking it in Palm Olive-... if this, uh, um-... like Madge. [laughs] Right. [laughs] I just had a visual. But yeah, welcome home, Big Sexy. Mm-hmm. You know?
- 7:21Like, Jesus Christ, I go 27, 27, I counted 27 states I've been in this since, since February. 27 states and I get back home to Louisiana, and then I get hit by a fucking car. Oh. Ugh. Well, like I said, glad you're okay.
- 7:39It reminded me though, like when I, when I was in the ditch for a minute, like gathering my thoughts,
- 7:46it reminded me when that cop, uh, between, between Milwaukee and Merrill, uh, the cop came up on me when I was, uh, taking a nap on the side of a bike trail. He goes, "Are you okay?" I'm like, "Yeah, I'm fine.
- 7:56I'm just taking a little nap. I'm just on, on this bike trail up to- towards Wausau." And he goes, "Oh, this lady, uh- Oh, sure... this lady called in and said she thought you might've fallen off your bike."
- 8:07And I'm like, "Oh yeah, and I grabbed my pillow on the way down." [laughs] That's, that's dextrous. Yeah. It- [laughs] Like, like, uh, "I, I've fallen off my bike, grabbed the pillow." I, I, are you serious? Like, like
- 8:23I have my pillow underneath my head. I'm pretty sure I didn't fall off my bike. Yeah. Carry on. Uh, anyway. Glad you're okay, brother. Yeah, yeah, I'm, I, I mean, we're okay.
- 8:35I, like, you know, like, like I, I'm pretty... I mean, I'm a little shaken, and I definitely didn't wanna go any further, especially in the dark. We'll get over it, and it's just one of those things.
- 8:46Uh, stupid kid wasn't really paying attention. He, he thought he cleared me, but he didn't. He was, he was very apologetic. He was, he was almost in tears. I, I couldn't, I couldn't get mad at him.
- 8:57But did you get any cash? I, I, I- I mean, honestly. Normally they sit there and they're like, "Hey, take 40 bucks." What, what would've happened, what would've happened if you...
- 9:05[laughs] Well, what I told him, I said, I said, "What would've happened if you would've really hit me and I was damaged p- physically or my bike?
- 9:14You'd be sitting here waiting for the cops or, or, or, or you'd be on the run and they'd be looking for you about, for a hit and run. What, like, like how late would you be then, you know?" Exactly.
- 9:29Like, if you were late for something, "Oh, oh, I'm going to pick up my daughter."
- 9:32Yeah, okay, but guess what your daughter's gonna be doing while you're waiting for an hour for the cops to show up and filling out police reports and insurance reports and shit. Be careful.
- 9:42Take the extra couple of seconds to move over. Yeah. I, I gave him a little bit of a lecture, but I did not whoop his ass like I thought I was gonna. [laughs] Well, good on you for that.
- 9:56All right, dude, well, uh, keep us posted with your, when you get back to where you're staying and- Be safe... well, be safe. Yep. Yeah, I know.
- 10:06I, I think this is just a little fluke, but it, but I mean, like I can't believe it took 17,000 miles for it to actually happen. Yeah. Oh, you're a lucky man. Yep. All right, brother. All right, man. Well, I don't know.
- 10:18I... All right, y'all have a good, have a good one. I'll talk to you in a couple weeks. Okay. Sounds good. Bye. Bye. All right. Big Sexy. Big, Big Sexy. Getting hit by a car. Oh. What the hell?
- 10:32So, uh, well, I'm glad he's back in Louisiana. Yeah. What, what are you doing with that thing over there? [laughs] Oh. We've come to the top of the- JK found the top.
- 10:43I was just trying to time the ring with the, me opening another beer. The top of the hill. [laughs] Oh, right on. JK made a stop on the way in today for the Good City... What do they call it?
- 10:55The Good, Good Pack or something? Yeah, it was like a- Some-... IPA variety pack, which I didn't know they threw them together like that, but I don't know.
- 11:04'Tis the season and the concussive season of variety packs, which, eh, why not? Yeah. Sometimes, sometimes I don't like experimenting with a- Oh... you know, even with a six-pack, sometimes you're like, [sighs]
- 11:17"Okay, [laughs] I got five more of these to drink or to pass her off to somebody." Mm-hmm. Well, this one is, uh, this one is Big Time. Yes. They have the Spare Time, the Space Time.
- 11:29Yeah, they're like the infinity stones. [laughs] Right. Like the local beer. This one, uh, Easy Time. Yeah. And that's easy to- They just had Easy Time. We had the Easy Time as the pre-show beer.
- 11:38Low cal, 4.2% alcohol by volume. Wasn't bad after I got over the initial shock of it being meh. That's okay. So, so let's, uh- I'm gonna put that as okay... I'm gonna swig this one. And this would be a Juicy IPA.
- 11:52Ooh, okay. It's also... Did you say the guy has a mullet on him? Yeah. On the- Yeah. It's kind of got a Joe Dirt. Joe D- Yeah. Joe Dirté. Joe, Joe Dirté. Dirté. Don't sugarcoat a Dirt. Ugh.
- 12:02While we swallow this, I'm gonna s- Kid Rock is the Fred Durst- I'm gonna remind-... of Ted Nugent. [laughs] Around a crossfire. Wow. [laughs] Yeah, a lot to unpack there.
- 12:12Yeah, that's a lot of Detroit action happening right there. Uh, just wanna remind Tony that I found his Box Nine derailleur floating around s- finally. [laughs] Well, this is pretty good.
- 12:21I, I've been unpacking boxes and coming across little treasures here and there, and I knew it would show up sooner or later, but- Every box I always say there's a little treasure...
- 12:29I don't know that there's anything else we really need for that bike, is there? I don't think there is. Just a little bit of time. Well, you're welcome to come in this weekend- I've been, um-... while I'm Door County.
- 12:38I'm, uh- Do-Co. [laughs] Uh, my wife's got a- Dorco... girl's weekend out, so I'm with the child. Oh, you're with child? Uh. [laughs] Congratulations. [laughs] Yeah. I, I'm with- You're not even presenting.
- 12:51You're not even... I mean, like- And then I'm taking him to, uh, Molly's brother's house and, uh, I'm heading up to Ashville to see my mom. Ah. Oh, gosh. Gotcha. So.
- 12:59Well, it's not like it's gonna build itself, but- It'll, it-... it's also not going anywhere... I'll be able to... Yeah, I'll be able to throw it together pretty quick one night. Sounds good. Yeah, it's gonna be fun.
- 13:06Did you bring it on the bike? No. [laughs] So is it gonna get lost again? [laughs] No. Okay. It's sitting right directly underneath it, I think, so- Awesome...
- 13:15I think it's Am I incorrect in believing that Ephraim is in the Door County? Ephraim is exactly in the Door County. Okay. There was a contestant on the Jeopardy this week from the Ephraim. I, I also...
- 13:28I believe Molly said something. I did not- I was like, "Da, da." Yeah. You know what it is? She totally did a DiCaprio. Did she mention- She's going against Amy for fuck's sake Yeah. No one's... Everyone's screwed...
- 13:36she's over a million bucks. Oh, yeah. 30 days- Yep... as of two days ago. And she killed it today again, too, on Wednesday. Did she mention that, uh, Ephraim's a dry city? Yes, or it was. It's not anymore. It still is.
- 13:48Uh, there's like- Well-... a fluky weird thing I think they can do, but- Yeah, and she... I think she's, uh, like a, a wine server. Well, probably. Or, uh, something like that. Something like that changed. I don't know.
- 13:58But yeah- Oh... for years and years and many years, and it's one of the oldest settled spots in Wisconsin, too. Oh, that's a fun fact. It's on the thumb up there, on the, on the bay side of the thumb. Oh, oh.
- 14:09Just before you get to, uh, Sister Bay. Yeah. Egg Harbor. Yeah, it's before that. I, I dated a woman in Ashville. Before that. You just throw out names.
- 14:18I don't have no idea where- I dated a woman who had a house in Dykesville, right there on the, on the Green Bay side. Yeah, I like to call it Dickyville just 'cause it makes me feel better.
- 14:26Yeah, I like calling it Dickyville. What, yeah, what, which city is the Al Johnson with the goats on the roof? That would be Sister Bay. Sister Bay. Sister Bay, the- Yeah.
- 14:33The goats do not come out in the winter, however. Pussies. Yeah. Yeah, they're- This is- Summer [laughs]... I bet you they live large. They do, uh, probably. Yeah. Do they slaughter the goats?
- 14:44I don't think they have any goat food at Al Johnson's. I do not believe they do. But they've been on that roof for- Just curious... a hell of a long time. I don't know, since the '50s or something they've been- Yeah...
- 14:54moping around up there on- Well, not the same goats, Craig. Oh, those are old goats. [laughs] Old goats. Yeah, yeah. Is that like roll oats? Yeah. Old goats.
- 15:02[laughs] Or, well- I would imagine because- Or does it eat oats, and oats lead goats, and goaty... normally when we...
- 15:07We've been going up to Door County for a long time, and especially in the winter, and it's usually around this MLK weekend time. But, uh, they always used to have snow up there.
- 15:18Guess what they don't have- Hey, up there do they? Again, for like the third or fourth year in a row, they don't have any snow. Up there Door County.
- 15:24I'm bringing my bike anyway to see if I can find any sand, but- Why not? Right... we'll see. Icy sand maybe. Yeah. No, it's not even that cold, is it? No, uh-uh.
- 15:32In fact, the lagoon down at the lakefront is melting again already. You can... It's, it open ice. Yeah. This is a weird winter. I was hoping, I was hoping to get some shore ice out there, but- Yeah...
- 15:43maybe we'll just get like three days. I'm glad this whole climate change has got nothing to do with us. Put a big thing over the city and dome. Dome. Dome. Dome. Let it be cold out there so we can still go outside.
- 15:57What would that mean? Uh, what else we got today? What? Uh, Sam McMahon, our, our buddy Strongman Sam has finally made it into Mexico. Yeah, he sent me a great picture of, uh, we can...
- 16:09I'll send it to you for show notes, but he's, uh, it's a picture of a big, I think it's a church in, in the background, and then he, he, he's in the foreground, and then a huge plate of [laughs] Mexican food, and I believe a Negro Modelo.
- 16:27Very nice. Oh, yeah. I saw a very large Jesus. Oh, he sent you that? I haven't seen it, oh yeah. It was in his Facebook post. Oh, I, I haven't... Oh, you know what's really funny?
- 16:34Speaking of that, I've been off the Facebook for about a month now, maybe a little longer. I am now getting emailed hourly by Facebook- [laughs]... for, like, friend recommendations,
- 16:49how many posts I've missed, and I'm like- [laughs]... "Wow, you guys are super desperate for trillions." That's not people. That's the robot. I know it's the robot, but you know. The robot wants your attention.
- 17:01I need your attention. Gotta have your attention over here. Yeah. Yeah, David Bowie warned us of it- See, I did that also... in an interview- Yes... at the dawn of the internet.
- 17:12He's like, [laughs] "No, it came from the outer space." Was it, it was this, uh- "No, you don't seem to understand. It's going to take over everything." And he said it with a smile on his face, for God's sakes.
- 17:22It was like, he's like, "No, no, you just... Eventually, it's going to just take over our entire lives." Would it have been his 75th? Is that what we were just... Or was it the- Uh... anniversary of his passing?
- 17:3377, I think. 77. Six, six years since he passed. It was- Something like that... also to add- Yeah, it was, it was-... gravity to it, it's Mariposa's birthday. It was birthday and death day- Oh, doggy. Doggy...
- 17:42in the same weekend. Doggy. Wowzers. It's all that- Yeah, it was a birthday and then, like, two days later it was his death day. It's all that ruckus. Ruckus. It's a ruckus.
- 17:50Somebody's doing some ruckus in the building today. Can you describe the word ruckus? [laughs] You watch it. You watch it.
- 17:55[laughs] We're getting, we're getting closer to putting a door on the room, so we'll be, we'll be isolated real nice in here. I- I'm not even sure we're gonna be able to breathe. Yeah. It'll be sealed up so well.
- 18:04Doggone quiet. Yeah, yeah. It's gonna be- There's enough air in here to last the show, and then we'll have to get out. [laughs] We'll have, like, the Gregorian chants. Well, actually- And we have incense burning.
- 18:13> You notice there is now drywall all the way to the ceiling over there, but James has a soffit idea that will s- maintain our-...
- 18:25soundproofiness but still allow air transferish-ness- Huh... tivity. I'd, I'd like to get them on my roof. Is there ice up there now? Oh, it probably melted off today. Probably, huh?
- 18:36Why, does he still have to drill a hole in it? Uh-huh. Hmm. Can't you do that from the inside? No, you can't, 'cause it goes, "No." Oh, no. Yeah, 'cause then it has like these ripples.
- 18:44Costanzo, you don't pay me no more and I'm mad. No. Oh, this guy on Jeopardy, he thought he was a- he got the answer wrong and it was Deuteronomy. Oh, no. Awful lot of Jeopardy talk today.
- 18:56I, hey, sometimes the stars align. How about s- how about you just sue a hospital in Las Vegas if your son passes away after being a Jeopardy champion? What? Yeah. [laughs] Read your newsfeed. [laughs] Jesus.
- 19:09His parents are s- suing a hospital in Vegas for the last big winner, whatever his name was, I don't remember. Passed away, I guess, and they're suing the hospital. Huh. No, I have not seen that. Not James.
- 19:21I don't know the guy's name. It was this morning when I read it at 5:30. Oh. I don't re- ha- my memory doesn't go back that far. Interesting.
- 19:28Having to get up for taking the daughter to work, I'm like, "It's 30 degrees out. You can ride your bike to work." I, you know- Yeah. It was beautiful... oh, it was a delightful- Yeah, totally a beautiful-...
- 19:35delightful- The cold, the cold days, I c- I don't have a problem with it... it was a delightful dri- ride in today. Oh, yes. And after work, and on the way here, apart from hauling a beer. But [laughs]
- 19:50into the soft wind. Just so, besides the big sexy, uh, accident on the road thing that was bike-oriented apparently, I did wanna make mention of the fact that we have a lot of fat bike cranks right now.
- 20:03Anybody needs a crank for their fat bike, especially mostly your 190 possibilities or your 197s, we got Race Face, we got Surly, we got FSA, we got, we got a, I even have a couple of, uh- It, uh, SRAM...
- 20:17SRAM X5s that are used but still usable. There's gotta be 25 fat bike cranks sitting down in [laughs] I kinda hoarded them. That's money, yeah.
- 20:27Well, I thought we were gonna be building a lot of fat bikes, except we can't get any fat bikes [laughs] to build. Right. So. So.
- 20:33So if you have a fat bike and you wanna build it, then just, uh, email info@everydaycycles.com and go ahead and I'll tell you what we got. What the hell is that?
- 20:43That has been parked on Martin Luther King- Smashy, smashy car... Center for the last three days. Tony has a picture of a car with no wheel on it. Wheel. That's a Tesla Model S dual drive.
- 20:53Why don't we go take some motor out of there? [laughs] Um, it, it has, it now has a tow sticker on it. I- Oh, no, tow... I, I have so many questions.
- 21:02I'm like, first of all, the owner of this can track exactly where it is. Why hasn't he or she? Don't know. Um, second of all- That's, that's a question for the groups... why wasn't it towed a long time ago?
- 21:14It's totally illegally parked on a corner in a yellow non-parking st- I've been watching a lot of- Everything about this is like-... CVS crime procedurals, and everything about Tuesday night, they're all FBI lineups.
- 21:25FBI, FBI International, and FBI Most Wanted. I believe there's a case here. Oh. I'm gonna contact Jubal so he can talk to the things in his ear. I'm, I'm, you know, part of me is like, "Okay-" Come on, people.
- 21:35Work the evidence. H- here's my theory. Here we go. Here's my theory.
- 21:38Someone stole it, and the owner is so wealthy that he's like, "Oh, I'll get you," and used his phone to put it into some sort of batshit mode that spun the tire right and wheel right off the, the hub, or off the f- the axle.
- 21:53Huh. There was an episode kinda like this. [laughs] I mean, the wheel is, the tire is shredded- Yeah... and then the wheel's off, and the wheel's broken. So you think he just stuck it in reverse and...
- 22:05Or it's four-wheel drive, so maybe he just... I don't know. Could, but you could, can't you just do one wheel? Or I don't... Anyway, whatever. I mean, it's crazy. It's a computer. It's a car.
- 22:13It's a $100,000 car i- in the corner of a really rough neighborhood for multiple days now. There's a story there somewhere. Yeah, right? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's- Right... uh, it writes it for itself.
- 22:25We never described the beer we're having right now, though. Uh, we kinda did. The Mullet and the- Juicy... uh, Juicy IPA- Juicy... and the Not Bad. But we were really s- oh... and mine's actually almost gone already.
- 22:34I know. So this really must be pretty decent. Yeah, it's pretty smooth, I would say. I don't know. What was the, uh, what was the ABV on this one? Uh. 6.2, I wanna say. All right. Okay, okay. All right. 6.5. Okay.
- 22:44Yeah, same alphabet. Yep, yep. Oh, oh, speaking of that- Good stuff, though, and it's almost gone... great, great, speaking of that, speaking of that, Greg. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. There's the cat tail.
- 22:50Have you guys watched, uh, the 10th, uh, season of, uh, Letterkenny yet? I started on a couple episodes. Okay. Uh- It was episode three of, uh, The Book of Boba Fett... I watched that- Where's the very-... this AM...
- 23:00special appearance by Anna Kendrick? That was literally less than two days for me to finish the entire [laughs]- Not worth it... it's not that many episodes, but it's funny. I started the third episode of Boba Fett.
- 23:11I think I'm on the third episode of Letterkenny too. It's slow-rolling. I'm, I kinda, if, if, if I wasn't invested as a total Boba Fett fucking fan and Star Wars geek, like, in general, I would wait [sighs]
- 23:25until you can just power through. 'Cause I would power through these first three episodes 'cause they're slow. Yeah. They're slow. There's a lot of- But I know there's w- there's a lot of world building here...
- 23:35there's a lot of story. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Story building. I get it. It's like t- t- I know you're going to a place, it's just [sighs] man, mansy.
- 23:43And it's only got n- well, I think it's only a nine-episode arc on this, so. We'll find out. They gotta, they gotta get their shit together, man. [laughs] But there's some fun little tendrils and I don't know.
- 23:54I, I, I get a little, I get a little excited. I gotta... I get a little excited when I talk about it and my voice goes up a couple octaves when I... Well, uh, I like- And Patton Oswalt called, called it.
- 24:04I'm gonna give you a challenge for next week's show, Greg. I, what? We have to power it off that thing I keep looking at. Oh. Well, this, uh, b- I [laughs] the Orangewheel- That thing-... powered for, like, four days...
- 24:15I know. Okay. Well, then let's do a show with it. All right. 'Cause w- we haven't yet, and we were gonna and we didn't. So let's do. Nah, I used the other thing for the test and it went for three hours. I know.
- 24:22It was small. So we're good. We're good. Little tiny thing. Small. S-M-all. Yeah. Well, I just, I, yeah.
- 24:28Now we're, you know, we're in the, the full studio with the microphones and everything here and blah, blah, blah, and that thing is supposed- Waterproof... to be able to power all this- Bubbleproof...
- 24:35for some reason if we took it all with us, but I just gotta A new Rode Wireless GO II microphone setup, which is super tiny and does a pretty good job.
- 24:45And if, if I was gonna carry all this crap or that, I think I'd shoot for- Carry that... the smaller thing. [laughs] Uh, we got, uh, a bunch of stuff on the calendar.
- 24:55Matter of fact, the fatbike.com calendar's been filling up so much, I haven't even kept up with putting it in our show notes because you can just go to the calendar page and check out all of the events coming up.
- 25:06Boy, there's a lot of them. Hopefully there's snow. I don't know. Did anyone do the- Sand or snow, or snow or sand, or what is this? Did anyone do the, uh, pie ride? No. Or is that coming up? No, that was the 2nd. Okay.
- 25:17January 2nd. I thought it was la- Well, somebody did the pie ride, but it was [laughs] not me or- Well, yeah, no, I, I mean someone at this table.
- 25:23[laughs] Uh, well due to the fact that I did something to my knee, I haven't really ridden since the, uh, polar plunge ride. Oh, so you got the curse of the weekend. Yeah, but it wasn't from that weekend.
- 25:35It was from- Well, whatever... yeah, but it, it... my knee hurts. And then I- My knee hurts. [laughs] Yeah, my knee hurts.
- 25:40No, I mean, I, I'm just, I'm, I'm just thankful- Maybe this goddamn stairway coming up here did something to that I like going up and down those things. I am just- I got the steps in...
- 25:47I'm, I'm just saying, I, I'm, I'm far enough away from the weekend of the first of the calendar year- That you feel safe? Well, that ca- yeah. 'Cause normally there is some sort of calamity.
- 25:59You know, either the rag doll down the fucking hill, or I'll turn an ankle years before that and c- like crawl around for whatever, boom, boom, boom, separate a shoulder here and, you know, just yeah. Yeah. Every year.
- 26:14This is... The exception is not being injured, and I like it. Yeah. I like it. Keep, keep, keep with that plan. Oh, shit yeah. Yeah. Well, right, uh, two years ago, slipped on New Year's Eve, not even that drunk.
- 26:27[laughs] But a lot o- like, that was that year with the, like, total ice sheets. And slip and, you know, instinctively trying to catch yourself. Smack. Yeah. Tore my bicep. Mm. Jammed my thumb like all hell.
- 26:43And then I was going to fucking Europe the, a week and a half later. Yeah, yeah. And had to, like, convalesce while that was happening. It was like- It's fine... ugh. Yeah, yeah, ooh, I mean, didn't make me not go.
- 26:56[laughs] Right. Speaking of real calamities- That would've... I had lunch with Luns today. Oh. Yeah, how was lunch?
- 27:03Well, they, he and, uh, Chuck are going to do the Polar Roll up there, Marquette way or wherever the hell that is, Ishpeming, in a couple of weeks. Yes, they can get those blonde beers that they like so much. Maybe.
- 27:15Maybe. I guess we got s- we got some peoples going up there, so maybe we'll get some photos. Maybe we'll get a report. Maybe we can get Jeff Scanlon to tell us something about it- Oh... 'cause he's going too.
- 27:23Oh, yeah, yeah. So yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I don't know. That's, you know, pretty much, we pretty much covered most of the stuff here on this thing. I don't, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
- 27:33Well, that yeah, the story with the UPath thing just kinda popped through, that they set the date being June 5th. Oh, yeah. That's the- And it-... when they shut The Hone down. Yeah.
- 27:42And apparently you can just, I don't know, d- they pretty much said, I think, be- for those three hours they're gonna have The Hone shut down, so. But it's such a- Yes, if you, if you want to go-... it's so high...
- 27:51well, if you wanna go for the, you know, and, you know, you can... They have like a five or like a 12 mile, a s- 50, a 60, a 120 whatever, or just ride- What in the hell are you doing over there?
- 28:03Do you know what I'm gonna say, right? No. What are you, what are you doing? I'm winding up my- Making a bunch of racket is what you're doing. Oh, is it? You can hear that? Yeah, I can hear it. Oh, wow. Look at you.
- 28:09I can always hear it. I can hear everything. Oh, if you're, if you're gonna go up The Hone Bridge, you know what you're gonna do, Craig? Craig, you know what you're gonna do? Use an electric bike. Push the button.
- 28:19[laughs] Well, we've got, we've got 10 boxes of electric bike stuff downstairs. And have all, all [babbles] all the way until top of June. Yeah, that's some time. Yeah. So plan ahead. Plan ahead. Uh,
- 28:35that Hone, she's, she's a nice bridge there. Yeah. Really that doesn't really do much, but- It's a bridge to nowhere... it is kinda cool looking. So, uh, yeah. That's it. I think I'm done. That's it.
- 28:47I got- You're done talking. I got nothing. I think I'm done. I gotta pull a R- Marco Rubio, and I need some water. Cut. All right, everybody, next week. Oh, look at, look at you- See you, Matt...
- 28:58with the ice cubes in there. See you, Matt. Till next week, Matt.
