  [SPEAKER_00]: Thousands on the streets federal buildings surrounded hotels where agents were staying, attacked with vandalism, broken windows.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if these anti-Is protestors thought they could intimidate the Trump administration, they were in for one rude awakening.

  [SPEAKER_00]: federal immigration officers into the Minneapolis St. Paul area, already the largest immigration force in operation in the state's history.

  [SPEAKER_00]: multiple media outlets reporting that a thousand more ICE and DHS agents plus additional customs and border protection officers are flooding the city in a massive surge bring the total federal footprint to run 3,000 agents five times the size of the city's entire police force.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's only good to continue to grow as the anti-Is woke resistance continues to get more radicalized, more hysterical, more desperate case and point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Last night, ICE agents tried to arrest a Venezuelan national and North Minneapolis who's in this country illegally, allegedly fled a traffic stop crashing to a park car, then ran on foot and went in officer caught up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: DHS says that the man resisted and violently assaulted him, and two more individuals came out of a nearby building and began beating the officer with the snow shovel and broom handle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: For now, obviously fearing for his life, the agent fired, hitting the original suspect in the leg.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The officer in the migrant were taken to the hospital, the other two alleged attackers

  [SPEAKER_00]: were arrested after barricading themselves inside the apartment.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, right on cue, the streets exploded.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But this time, federal agents fought back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Federal officers and gas masks fired tear gas and eye irritants in the crowd, dispersing the protesters in the midst of such overwhelming force.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Minneapolis's own mayor, the insufferable Jacob Freiboy, described the situation as impossible and unsustainable, with residents demanding that local police,

  [SPEAKER_00]: in Minneapolis and beyond, more and more leftists are recognizing that their reckoning is at hand, and there's absolutely nothing they can do to stop it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the basic gist of the theory is that in any conflict between combatants, the side that controls the highest rungs in the ladder is it where dictates the ultimate outcome.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So in a federal versus state showdown, in this case over immigration, sanctuary jurisdictions like Minneapolis occupy the lowest rings in the latter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They can refuse cooperation, they can file lawsuits, they can stage protests, they can make dumb videos,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, these are just symbolic acts and frankly just, you're feudal legal maneuvers that delay but do not ultimately block federal enforcement.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The federal government by contrast doesn't just control the highest rungs of the latter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The federal government commands the entire latter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It can arrest state and local law enforcement while their own federal agents are completely immune from state and local law enforcement.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It can cut off billions of dollars in federal funding.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It can deploy tens of thousands of ice in Border Patrol and tactical officers in the streets.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could federalize the National Guard and the ultimate east card.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The federal government can send in active duty troops under the insurrection act.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that is exactly what Trump is explicitly threatening for Minneapolis.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And legal scholars note the bar for the invocation is lower than most assumed.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So bottom line, sanctuary cities and states, simply cannot climb the escalation ladder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This structural asymmetry guarantees that any prolonged confrontation ends with federal supremacy intact and local resistance crushed by the next run.
