- 0:01Speaker 1: Good Tuesday afternoon, everybody. Welcome to Foul Territory Baseball the
- 0:06Speaker 1: way it should be covered. I am your guest host
- 0:09Speaker 1: Alana Rizzo, alongside Eric kratz ag pre Zinsky Scott bron
- 0:13Speaker 1: will be back with you guys tomorrow. Hello, gentlemen, good
- 0:16Speaker 1: to see you. How's it going this Tuesday, Aj.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Everything's good, good morning, got my workout in, got a
- 0:22Speaker 2: nice walk with my dogs.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Uh, you know that was it? Really nothing?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Had some had some stuff to do, Alanna, that's normal,
- 0:30Speaker 2: but you know, just a normal Tuesday over here.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Good job.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Welcome both at the same time.
- 0:35Speaker 1: What's up?
- 0:36Speaker 3: Do you walk them both at the same timesolutely? Absolutely?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Do they get I've never done that. Do they get
- 0:41Speaker 2: tangled up? Or are they just like straight, straight ahead dogs?
- 0:45Speaker 2: They're pretty straight. They stop every once in a while
- 0:48Speaker 2: and smell smell my lab more than my pomski, so
- 0:50Speaker 2: I have to kind of grab him and yank him
- 0:52Speaker 2: a little.
- 0:52Speaker 1: You have a big one and a little one.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Well eighty pounds, and she's supposed to be like thirty,
- 0:58Speaker 2: but she's like forty, so eighty because she thinks she's
- 1:01Speaker 2: the big dog in my lap, the little dog.
- 1:05Speaker 3: So it's funny.
- 1:06Speaker 1: As long as they walk at the same pace, You're okay.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Eric.
- 1:09Speaker 1: They do have things that you can put around your
- 1:11Speaker 1: waist that you can walk two dogs at the same
- 1:13Speaker 1: time and it helps you. So I'll send you a link.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. I'll get you all set.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I just have one dog.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I have one dog and she goes, she goes left,
- 1:21Speaker 2: smells something comes back around me, comes back around to
- 1:25Speaker 2: the left side, and I'm constantly like pulling my hand around.
- 1:28Speaker 2: So I'm like, if I had two dogs.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Just sounds like maybe she she could use some training,
- 1:34Speaker 1: Eric Kratz, perhaps or maybe maybe you should get some
- 1:39Speaker 1: training on how to walk her.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I'm not I'm not going to deny that.
- 1:44Speaker 1: John Mackie says, this guy. Don't expect the Pirates to
- 1:47Speaker 1: sign Kyle Schwaba. Don't think they ever had a chance
- 1:50Speaker 1: at Josh Naylor. But they can should extend Connor Griffin
- 1:53Speaker 1: and make him their opening day shortstop in two thousand
- 1:57Speaker 1: and twenty six. I can't imagine a universe, Eric and
- 2:00Speaker 1: aj where Kyle Schwarber would go to the Pirates number one,
- 2:04Speaker 1: number two. Yeah, I don't think they hadn't necessarily a
- 2:07Speaker 1: shot at Naylor obviously just signed a five year, ninety
- 2:10Speaker 1: two million dollar deal to stay in Seattle. Do you
- 2:13Speaker 1: agree with this that they should extend Connor Griffin and
- 2:17Speaker 1: at least that's something that that team can be excited about.
- 2:19Speaker 1: In addition, of course, to Paul Skins.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah, why wouldn't they If they can do it, now
- 2:25Speaker 3: do it. They won't.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Because they just don't do the right thing. Ever, it
- 2:31Speaker 2: seems like so they won't. They should have signed Skimes
- 2:33Speaker 2: before they called him up. They should have signed all
- 2:36Speaker 2: these guys. I mean they Yes, they signed Reynolds, they
- 2:39Speaker 2: signed Hayes and Cabrian Hayes and then traded them, which
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm sure they were like, man, I can't believe we've
- 2:43Speaker 2: got someone to take that contract. I mean, defense is
- 2:46Speaker 2: great and all, but you got to be able to
- 2:47Speaker 2: hit to play third base, and he hasn't done that
- 2:49Speaker 2: for a long time.
- 2:50Speaker 3: So yeah, should they do this, absolutely.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Should they try and get some free agents, Absolutely, because
- 2:56Speaker 2: hopefully at some point we can get into this. All
- 2:57Speaker 2: I keep hearing is teams are losing money, Teams losing money.
- 3:00Speaker 2: But whatever, it's it's ridiculous. Teams aren't losing money. Teams
- 3:04Speaker 2: are losing money and sell the team. They're making money.
- 3:06Speaker 2: They just cook the books to make it look like
- 3:07Speaker 2: they're losing money.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Gary Sheffield Junior on ex saying future Yankee. This is
- 3:13Speaker 1: in response to Jesse Rodgers tweet about Tatsuya am I.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He's been posted. Guys. The window to negotiate with him
- 3:20Speaker 1: is between November nineteenth, so that's tomorrow at eight am
- 3:23Speaker 1: Eastern and January second at five pm Eastern. The twenty
- 3:26Speaker 1: seven year old righty compile the one nine to two
- 3:29Speaker 1: era in Japan last year. Those are great numbers. We
- 3:32Speaker 1: know the Japanese arms are in high pursuit. Where do
- 3:36Speaker 1: you think he goes? Ajay?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Los Angeles?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Don't they doesn't Every Japanese pitcher and player that's posted
- 3:43Speaker 2: now go to Los Angeles.
- 3:45Speaker 3: They're just point.
- 3:46Speaker 1: They can all go there.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And min Aga is going there too. He got a
- 3:49Speaker 2: qualifying offer also from the Dodgers. He's gonna accept the
- 3:52Speaker 2: Dodgers qualifying off.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I don't think it works. Oh it doesn't.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And then what's the lefty, the lefty hitter guy that's
- 3:59Speaker 2: supposed to be he's Mark Ami.
- 4:01Speaker 3: He's not going to l A. He's going somewhere else.
- 4:03Speaker 3: But I actually think I don't know the Yankees fit
- 4:06Speaker 3: for am I but I.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Could see I don't know if you go there though,
- 4:09Speaker 2: but I could see like a Detroit going after him hard,
- 4:14Speaker 2: even Boston going after him hard.
- 4:17Speaker 3: But I just don't know.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It's just everything is everything for the Japanese guys is
- 4:21Speaker 2: headed out on the West Coast a lot because the
- 4:23Speaker 2: travel back home is so much easier.
- 4:25Speaker 3: So I just don't know. I mean, I know we
- 4:26Speaker 3: saw Tanaka, and we saw.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Uh Rabu and and and uh the guy who threw
- 4:32Speaker 2: the ball that didn't spind the dice g to Bostin.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Just I just feel, yeah, he didn't do very well
- 4:39Speaker 2: at all. He's he was terrible. He's just Stangerman.
- 4:46Speaker 1: All right. Time Now for shake it Up guys. Going
- 4:49Speaker 1: off of Jeff Passon's column recently about free agency updates,
- 4:55Speaker 1: is Stephen Kwan going to stay in Cleveland or is
- 4:58Speaker 1: he going to go someplace else? Seems like multiple gms
- 5:03Speaker 1: believe he's gone.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's gonna get traded. The Guardians will
- 5:09Speaker 2: do something here. They they're not going to spend money.
- 5:11Speaker 2: So I think he's one of those guys that they'll
- 5:14Speaker 2: make a move and he has value.
- 5:16Speaker 3: So I think he'll be He'll be gone. I don't
- 5:18Speaker 3: think he'd be a Guardian.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Okay, what about you, Eric, You think Kwan is a
- 5:24Speaker 1: Guardian or you think he's a Dodger.
- 5:27Speaker 2: From what I heard, he was almost a Dodger.
- 5:32Speaker 3: What is it?
- 5:33Speaker 1: No. The only reason I said that was because yesterday
- 5:37Speaker 1: Jim Bowden was talking about it, and we were also
- 5:39Speaker 1: talking about it on Dodgers territory that Tao is not
- 5:43Speaker 1: necessarily the answer in right field. Maybe you move Tao
- 5:47Speaker 1: to left, maybe you get Kyle Tucker and right even
- 5:49Speaker 1: though they're not going to want to spend that money,
- 5:51Speaker 1: but they were saying, we were talking about it that
- 5:53Speaker 1: Stephen Kwan makes a lot of sense. Maybe in the Dodgers' outfields.
- 5:57Speaker 1: He's a good bat to ball guy, he's great defensive.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Where would where would you like to see him go?
- 6:03Speaker 2: I mean, he makes sense in a lot of outfields.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I from what I heard from my inside source is
- 6:10Speaker 2: he was going to be traded with Classe before the
- 6:12Speaker 2: whole Classe thing happened, and that would have been that
- 6:17Speaker 2: would have been a massive haul for for the Guardians.
- 6:21Speaker 2: But I think he fits in a lot of outfields.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I just think it's a matter of understanding what you're
- 6:27Speaker 2: getting with Steven Kuwan. He is somebody that's not going
- 6:31Speaker 2: to give you a lot of power and is never
- 6:33Speaker 2: going to give you a bed at that. Are you
- 6:35Speaker 2: willing to because we heard all the time other years
- 6:39Speaker 2: Luis A Rise could be traded.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Luisa Rise was just traded.
- 6:43Speaker 2: He was traded again, similar type of profile, with much
- 6:47Speaker 2: much better defense. So what are teams willing to give up?
- 6:50Speaker 2: And that's why I think the Guardians are going to
- 6:53Speaker 2: ultimately trade him because they are able to get value
- 6:57Speaker 2: out of somebody who I think becomes a free in
- 7:00Speaker 2: twenty seven. So you're giving up extra, you're giving up
- 7:05Speaker 2: two years. But it's the Guardians mo to try to
- 7:08Speaker 2: get value when they can. And I think you know
- 7:10Speaker 2: he's he will help whatever team he is on. He's
- 7:13Speaker 2: a winning type of player, which doesn't give you any
- 7:15Speaker 2: analytical numbers, but he plays great defense and puts together
- 7:21Speaker 2: a incredibly tough at Thatt.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Holiday shopping season is here and we have you covered
- 7:29Speaker 4: from head to toe.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Let's take to talk about an area that's not quite
- 7:34Speaker 2: close to the toes. Let's get crazy with this holiday season. Yeah,
- 7:38Speaker 2: that's Meundes I'm spinning around, but the holiday season. Now
- 7:41Speaker 2: you can get me undies with some holiday prints on them.
- 7:44Speaker 4: That's right, ridiculously soft fabric holiday prints, matching holiday prints
- 7:49Speaker 4: with your special person. Or you can coordinate pjs for
- 7:52Speaker 4: the family photo. And right now you can get up
- 7:54Speaker 4: to fifty percent off with the code foul. We rock
- 7:57Speaker 4: me Undies. You should too. We're talking with thirty million
- 8:00Speaker 4: pairs sold. Knock out all your holiday gifting needs today
- 8:05Speaker 4: with me undies. To get exclusive holiday deals up to
- 8:08Speaker 4: yep I said at fifty percent off, go to meundies
- 8:11Speaker 4: dot com slash foul and enter promo code foul. That's
- 8:15Speaker 4: m E U N d I e s dot com
- 8:18Speaker 4: slash f o U L promo code foul for up
- 8:21Speaker 4: to fifty percent off.
- 8:24Speaker 1: All right, along the same lines of what we were
- 8:25Speaker 1: talking about in terms of free agents, stay or go
- 8:28Speaker 1: Nick Costianos. This is an interesting situation AJ because Nick
- 8:31Speaker 1: Costianus apparently had some beef with Rob Thompson during the
- 8:34Speaker 1: end of their season, and per Jeff Passon, Philadelphia has
- 8:38Speaker 1: tried to trade him along with his two twenty million
- 8:41Speaker 1: dollars salary but supposedly no bidders. Is Castillanos back in
- 8:45Speaker 1: Philly next year.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Unless Philly eats some money. I think he is.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I don't know that they've been trying. It's like Alec Bohm,
- 8:54Speaker 2: They've they tried to try. I think I feel like
- 8:55Speaker 2: they've tried to trade Alig Bahm and Nick Castianos for
- 8:58Speaker 2: years now. Castianos the reason I think again, we had
- 9:01Speaker 2: castianisaw not long ago. We've had Dave Dombrowskio not long ago.
- 9:04Speaker 2: He just got frustrated because he wants to play and
- 9:06Speaker 2: Rob Thompson didn't wasn't playing him every day. And listen,
- 9:10Speaker 2: he didn't have a great year. He's not great defensively,
- 9:13Speaker 2: he can still swing the bat. He gets big hits
- 9:16Speaker 2: for him. He got some huge hits for him in
- 9:17Speaker 2: the postseason and down the stretch. So I think he's
- 9:21Speaker 2: back just because I don't know the Philly's going to
- 9:23Speaker 2: be willing to eat money to get him moved somewhere.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I think the Phillies need to focus on just signing
- 9:29Speaker 1: Kyle schwarberk to a long term deal. Byron Buxton, Eric Kratz,
- 9:32Speaker 1: do you see Byron Buxton staying in Minnesota or moving on. Originally,
- 9:36Speaker 1: he said he did not want to be traded. Now
- 9:38Speaker 1: it seems like he's willing to at least explore the
- 9:40Speaker 1: possibilities of not being with the Twins in twenty twenty six.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna take a quote from Dumb and Dumber, Well,
- 9:47Speaker 2: was all this one in a million talk. If Byron
- 9:50Speaker 2: Buxton is available, you have to try to go and
- 9:54Speaker 2: get him.
- 9:54Speaker 3: If you are.
- 9:56Speaker 2: The Philadelphia Phillies, if you're the Cincinnati Reds, you are
- 10:00Speaker 2: the I mean, I wouldn't even be against you know,
- 10:04Speaker 2: a team like the Brewers going to get like he's
- 10:07Speaker 2: not being paid that much for the next three years.
- 10:11Speaker 2: There is an opportunity to have a guy.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Obviously.
- 10:14Speaker 2: The whole health thing is that you know, always talked
- 10:16Speaker 2: about that's a top ten MVP type of player. I
- 10:20Speaker 2: just I have a hard time believing if there's a
- 10:22Speaker 2: chance that gms are not calling about Byron Bucks and
- 10:27Speaker 2: so I think he goes.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I think he gets moved.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Do you agree with that? AJ?
- 10:36Speaker 2: I think if if Pablo Lopez and Joe Ryan get moved,
- 10:39Speaker 2: then I think if I'm my next call is hey,
- 10:44Speaker 2: Derek Falve, uh sign me up to go bye bye,
- 10:46Speaker 2: also because why would he want to be there.
- 10:48Speaker 3: They're not going to compete.
- 10:49Speaker 2: They're saying they're going to compete or not if they
- 10:51Speaker 2: move those two guys. Audios, I'm Byron Buckson. I'm on
- 10:54Speaker 2: the phone with Derek Fallavey saying, see you get me
- 10:57Speaker 2: out of here, please.
- 10:58Speaker 1: All right, guys. Some news Bybert Murray saying that the
- 11:01Speaker 1: Red Sox designated first baseman Nathaniel Lowe for assignment, and
- 11:05Speaker 1: apparently Josh Unkowski was also designated for assignment by the
- 11:08Speaker 1: Red Sox as well. Chris Catillo talking about that, so
- 11:11Speaker 1: the Red Sox seemed to continue to have a first
- 11:14Speaker 1: base problem. Eric will start with you, how do you
- 11:17Speaker 1: see this playing out? Because I don't know if Tristan
- 11:20Speaker 1: Cassis is going to come back, if that's going to
- 11:22Speaker 1: be their dude. Abraham Toro didn't really work out there.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Nathaniel Lowe came in. What are they doing first base?
- 11:28Speaker 1: What's the play here?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Pied Alonzo right handed bats first baseman. I guess it
- 11:35Speaker 2: they don't love his Maybe maybe the Red Sox look
- 11:37Speaker 2: at it like, hey, you know what our fallback plan
- 11:40Speaker 2: is Tristan Cassis if he comes back from his injury.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You know, has he done enough in the big leagues
- 11:47Speaker 2: for them to say, yeah, we're a play I don't
- 11:49Speaker 2: think you can say synonymously. You can't say it in
- 11:52Speaker 2: the same breath. We want to be a World Series
- 11:55Speaker 2: winning team, and we'll just figure out first base, because
- 12:00Speaker 2: first base they showed, the Red Sox showed all of
- 12:02Speaker 2: baseball and everybody that says it first pace. Isn't that easy.
- 12:06Speaker 2: You can't just find somebody. I thought it was great
- 12:09Speaker 2: that they picked up Nathaniel Low. Now they didn't bring
- 12:14Speaker 2: him back. They didn't ten or more contracts, So you know,
- 12:17Speaker 2: you got to go out and get somebody. And it's
- 12:18Speaker 2: a position that there's a lot of power out there
- 12:20Speaker 2: and you can't have.
- 12:22Speaker 3: A lapse of power at first base if you want
- 12:24Speaker 3: to win a World Series.
- 12:25Speaker 1: In my opinion, Heyjay, is that the Red Sox biggest
- 12:28Speaker 1: need figuring out first base? Or is it getting making
- 12:31Speaker 1: sure Alex Bregman comes back.
- 12:34Speaker 2: They need Bregman back and they need a first base.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And whether it's trysting causes and he can stay healthy
- 12:38Speaker 2: and do his yoga out in the outfield grass or
- 12:40Speaker 2: whatever he wants to do, or if it's someone else
- 12:43Speaker 2: as we had as we talked about is it Pete
- 12:45Speaker 2: Alonso going there and helping fill that void at first base?
- 12:48Speaker 2: I don't know, but that is a big Bregman should
- 12:50Speaker 2: be number one, and then a starter and then a
- 12:53Speaker 2: first baseman. Those are the three needs for the Red
- 12:55Speaker 2: Sox for me, right, and it needs to be a
- 12:57Speaker 2: right handed hitter because they have a lot of these
- 13:00Speaker 2: guys that can hit lefty, but they need a dude
- 13:02Speaker 2: that can go up there and slug and hit the
- 13:04Speaker 2: ball off and over the Green Monster.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So you think in that is that the order?
- 13:08Speaker 3: Though?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Is it Bregman extension number two starter to go behind
- 13:13Speaker 1: Garrett Crochet in the rotation and then.
- 13:15Speaker 2: A first basement is because because they have Castus, it's
- 13:19Speaker 2: just sitting there and whatever happens with him. And they
- 13:21Speaker 2: also prove they could be okay with Romey Gonzalez and
- 13:24Speaker 2: Abraham Toro for some time right playing first base. So
- 13:28Speaker 2: Alex Hore is really good at mixing and matching, but
- 13:30Speaker 2: they need that lockdown their basement. Who should be Bregman,
- 13:32Speaker 2: And then if they could get another starter at the
- 13:34Speaker 2: top of the end rotation, be great, and then you
- 13:36Speaker 2: can figure out first base down the road.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I am your general manager.
- 13:48Speaker 1: All right, guys, time now for I am your GM.
- 13:51Speaker 1: This is the Philadelphia Phillies edition. Matt Gelb wrote, what
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm hearing about the Phillies Schwarbers free agency trademarket Bulpen reboot.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Does Philly re signed Kyle Schwarberg? Guys, what's the play here?
- 14:03Speaker 1: You think he comes back? And if he does, what's
- 14:06Speaker 1: the deal? In your opinion?
- 14:07Speaker 2: Aj, I think you think Philly is the place he
- 14:11Speaker 2: should go back to. What's the deal? I think it's
- 14:14Speaker 2: four year deal, four year deal, you know, one fifty
- 14:19Speaker 2: something like that. I think four year, one twenty to
- 14:23Speaker 2: I'm going one to fifty. They know how much he
- 14:24Speaker 2: means to him, so I think Philly's a spot for him.
- 14:27Speaker 2: There's gonna be a lot of other teams though, that
- 14:28Speaker 2: are in on Kyle Schwarber because not only of his
- 14:31Speaker 2: presence in the box, but his presence in the clubhouse.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Finished second and National League MVP voting Eric turns thirty
- 14:38Speaker 1: three before opening day. He is a d H, so
- 14:41Speaker 1: you got to value that. He doesn't obviously play in
- 14:43Speaker 1: the field, but that's highly valued by the Phillies. Obviously,
- 14:47Speaker 1: it's not obvious how the market will view him. What
- 14:50Speaker 1: do you think do you think he goes back?
- 14:52Speaker 2: I think the Phillies don't build their team necessarily on
- 14:58Speaker 2: war in the offseason. I think some teams build their
- 15:01Speaker 2: team on war and build their team on well, we
- 15:03Speaker 2: want to make sure we have a lot of flexibility.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Maybe that's the route that they have to go. But
- 15:08Speaker 2: I don't think there's any team that understands his value
- 15:11Speaker 2: in the clubhouse more than the Phillies. I'd have a
- 15:14Speaker 2: hard time believing, like being told who's going to be
- 15:17Speaker 2: the next guy to step up? When you look around
- 15:19Speaker 2: that team, who's the guy that steps up to be
- 15:22Speaker 2: the leader on this team? And some people inside the
- 15:25Speaker 2: clubhouse might say, we don't need you know, we have
- 15:28Speaker 2: a lot of good leaders. I fear that when a
- 15:32Speaker 2: team says that, because to me, that's where Schwarber's value is.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Also the fact his numbers were ridiculous. He was a
- 15:40Speaker 2: second second in MVP voting, But to me, it was
- 15:44Speaker 2: less about his numbers and more about his improvement from
- 15:47Speaker 2: last season to this season. The fact that he dropped
- 15:50Speaker 2: his strikeout rate, the fact that he hit the most
- 15:53Speaker 2: home runs left on left of anybody in the big Leaues,
- 15:55Speaker 2: the fact that he's continually gotten better the entire time
- 15:59Speaker 2: he's been there, and I just feel like, I feel
- 16:02Speaker 2: like a team, other teams are gonna want to go
- 16:05Speaker 2: four years one twenty because they know his values there,
- 16:08Speaker 2: and I think the Phillies will probably end up, you know,
- 16:11Speaker 2: maybe like five one thirty five. I don't know that
- 16:14Speaker 2: he's going to get five full years at thirty a year.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I feel like that's I feel like that's stretching it.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And if it does get to that, I really think
- 16:24Speaker 2: the Phillies are willing to say, yes, we want to
- 16:28Speaker 2: be in on that.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Also is a DH.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Worth and I know you get what the market allows, right,
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm not suggesting that, But is a DH worth thirty
- 16:36Speaker 1: million a year?
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, if someone wants to pay you thirty million a year?
- 16:43Speaker 2: Is sho Hee Otani worth seventy million dollars a year
- 16:45Speaker 2: as a DH?
- 16:46Speaker 1: I mean, but he also but he also pitches though
- 16:48Speaker 1: that's there's that's a little different.
- 16:49Speaker 2: It's a little different this year, but he still he's
- 16:52Speaker 2: still the DH he didn't last year. Yeah, my good,
- 16:56Speaker 2: davidtz worth thirty million in today's game, Edgar Martinez.
- 17:02Speaker 1: But if you're going along the same lines of what
- 17:04Speaker 1: Eric's saying about clubhouse guy and what he means to
- 17:06Speaker 1: the team. And yeah, David, for sure, I love Kyleshwarber.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I hope he gets it. God bless him. It's just
- 17:12Speaker 1: that's a lot of money for a DH.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I think thirty million just for a DH. Yes, I
- 17:17Speaker 2: think you're worth it. Thirty million to a player who
- 17:21Speaker 2: takes up just one position. That doesn't give you flexibility
- 17:25Speaker 2: for the other older the other guys who are aging
- 17:29Speaker 2: throughout their contract that are still going to be there
- 17:31Speaker 2: in the next five years while that contract is happening.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That's when the thirty million gets a little gets a
- 17:39Speaker 2: little steep. I mean it does, and that's what teams
- 17:42Speaker 2: are gonna have to fear. But I think that is negated.
- 17:45Speaker 2: That fear is negated by what he's brought in that clubhouse.
- 17:48Speaker 2: The fact that he's transitioned from Rhys Hoskins being the
- 17:53Speaker 2: leader to Kyle Schwarber being the guy like he's just
- 17:57Speaker 2: he's a dude's dude is as Garrett Stubbs said, you know,
- 18:01Speaker 2: he's the guy that always wants to play ping pong
- 18:03Speaker 2: with somebody.
- 18:04Speaker 3: In the like.
- 18:04Speaker 2: There's just little stuff like that that brings the boys together.
- 18:09Speaker 4: AJ, We're gonna do things a little bit differently. Here.
- 18:12Speaker 4: I am wearing the Perfect Gene and I remember seeing
- 18:15Speaker 4: ads for the Perfect Gene like most comfortable fit ever,
- 18:19Speaker 4: perfect fit on your body, and I was like, I'm
- 18:23Speaker 4: not buying it. Now I'm buying it, and we're showing
- 18:27Speaker 4: it off on FT.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Please please get off my desk. First of all, Scott,
- 18:30Speaker 2: Second of all, I was with you. I was skeptical
- 18:32Speaker 2: about Perfect Gene and then I got a pair and
- 18:35Speaker 2: the fitting was perfect. And my body's not hard to
- 18:37Speaker 2: fix is I got a big old rear and big
- 18:39Speaker 2: old legs from Lars of Squatting and they fit perfectly.
- 18:42Speaker 3: They're stretchy, they're comfortable, they're fashionable. They're everything I look
- 18:45Speaker 3: for in a gene. And now I have an extra
- 18:47Speaker 3: pair and I'm gonna wear them all the time.

- 19:11Speaker 1: From sn y guys. Brandon Nimo reportedly quote can be
- 19:14Speaker 1: had in a trade this offseason. Such a callous way
- 19:17Speaker 1: to put it. Come get him, he can be had.
- 19:20Speaker 1: You think Nimo goes anywhere else but the Mets?
- 19:22Speaker 2: Aj I mean, I think I think the Mets are
- 19:27Speaker 2: pretty open to training almost anybody that they can trade.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Other than Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto, I don't know
- 19:33Speaker 2: that there's any other untouchables on that team. I think
- 19:36Speaker 2: if if David Stearns gets the write offer for any
- 19:39Speaker 2: of these, anybody, literally anybody on their team, I think
- 19:42Speaker 2: he would make a move for Nemo Alvarez, Manaiah Sanga, McNeil, geez, who.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Else do they?
- 19:52Speaker 2: I mean, I'm just going through the off just like
- 19:54Speaker 2: off the top of my head. I mean, I think
- 19:55Speaker 2: they would pretty much move anybody they can a to
- 19:58Speaker 2: try to free up money and be to try to
- 19:59Speaker 2: make their better. Because this team last year, it didn't work.
- 20:03Speaker 2: It didn't work. Sorry, it didn't work.
- 20:06Speaker 1: What makes them better? What do they need.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Starting pitching bringing back? They gotta bring.
- 20:11Speaker 2: They got to figure out closer if Edwin Diaz is gone,
- 20:13Speaker 2: and they got to figure out starting pitching.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Frankie Montos, sorry, he ain't the answer.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I know David Searns likes to play in the kiddie
- 20:20Speaker 2: pool sometimes, but Frankie Montas ain't the answers. Especially was
- 20:24Speaker 2: he making seventeen or eighteen million dollars a year? That's
- 20:26Speaker 2: just that's not the answer. You're the Mets, go get
- 20:28Speaker 2: the big boys. I think the only way they move
- 20:32Speaker 2: them is if it gets them a starting pitcher, If
- 20:36Speaker 2: it gets them somebody that they don't they don't have
- 20:40Speaker 2: to go because they're very fearful of going real long
- 20:43Speaker 2: term five years on a starting pitcher.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Maybe Nimo.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Maybe Nimo does blips that radar for a team that
- 20:51Speaker 2: they're like, hey, you know, we're willing to give up
- 20:53Speaker 2: so and so for Nemo, which Nemo is still a
- 20:57Speaker 2: legit player. It wasn't the Mets offense that was the issue.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Sometimes it was. I get it, but everybody gets worn out.
- 21:04Speaker 2: When your starting pitchers only go three or four innings.
- 21:07Speaker 2: The position players are like, oh okay, here we go. Again,
- 21:11Speaker 2: we got to score seven to win. The Bullpen's like, okay,
- 21:15Speaker 2: we got to take care of this game. They need
- 21:16Speaker 2: starting pitching. It affects everything at MGM futures odds. We're
- 21:29Speaker 2: looking today at the twenty six al pennant, specifically the
- 21:33Speaker 2: Astros at plus six point fifty. I mean, if I'm
- 21:37Speaker 2: ever getting plus six fifty on the Astros, I feel
- 21:40Speaker 2: like I have to I have to.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Put some money in.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I don't think I'm going to put money in yet
- 21:46Speaker 2: at this time, because I want to see what they're doing.
- 21:50Speaker 2: They're a little thin in some areas. They're a little
- 21:52Speaker 2: thin in they're starting rotation, They're a little thin in
- 21:56Speaker 2: their bullpen. How's Hater going to come back? What does
- 21:58Speaker 2: that look like for them? And to me, there's other
- 22:02Speaker 2: value in the American League, But the Astros, I mean,
- 22:06Speaker 2: eight out of nine years in the playoffs, six fifties
- 22:09Speaker 2: right on that border. Maybe a little thin for me.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I'd like to see it maybe a little bit higher,
- 22:13Speaker 2: But I was looking at who else there is. The
- 22:15Speaker 2: Red Sox are at eight hundred, the Blue Jays at
- 22:18Speaker 2: a thousand. To me, the money is really once you
- 22:21Speaker 2: get down to Orioles and Rangers Orioles at thirteen hundred
- 22:24Speaker 2: and the Rangers at sixteen hundred AJ.
- 22:27Speaker 1: The only team that has better odds are the Yankees
- 22:30Speaker 1: and the Mariners. Are you taking plus six to fifty
- 22:32Speaker 1: for the Astros?
- 22:36Speaker 3: No, No, there's too much. There's too much. There's too
- 22:38Speaker 3: much work to be done there.
- 22:39Speaker 2: And listen, we had Joe's spot on and I love
- 22:42Speaker 2: Joe's spot I think he's a great, unbelievably gifted manager
- 22:46Speaker 2: and communicator. But they just have a lot of holes
- 22:49Speaker 2: right now. And let's not forget they're the second highest
- 22:51Speaker 2: and they didn't make their third highest. They didn't make
- 22:53Speaker 2: the playoffs last year, okay, and they lose Fromber and
- 22:56Speaker 2: they lose some other pieces. So I don't think I
- 23:00Speaker 2: think it's not If it was more like plus thousand,
- 23:03Speaker 2: then I more think about it. Right now, where they stand,
- 23:06Speaker 2: they're just not they're not there for me right now?
- 23:10Speaker 1: All right? What would have to change? Who do they
- 23:12Speaker 1: need to get I we'll talk about it later, all right.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Coming up, we're talking about this exclusive Missouri pre registration offer.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Get up to fifteen hundred dollars paid back in bonus
- 23:22Speaker 1: bets if you don't win plus one hundred bonus bets
- 23:24Speaker 1: if you deposit before December. First sign up for BETMGM
- 23:28Speaker 1: Sports during the pre registration period, and you will receive
- 23:31Speaker 1: one hundred dollars in bonus bets on the first day
- 23:34Speaker 1: bet MGM Sports goes live in Missouri, plus the first
- 23:37Speaker 1: bet offer fifteen hundred dollars acquisitionion promotion pre registration plus
- 23:41Speaker 1: first bet offer acquisition promo for BETMGM sportsbook. Bonus bets
- 23:45Speaker 1: expire in seven days and are non withdrawable. First bet
- 23:48Speaker 1: offer token will expire seven days after being issued. Gambling
- 23:53Speaker 1: problem called one eight hundred gambler available in the US.
- 24:04Speaker 1: All right, we are looking ahead. Let's talk about Jodge
- 24:07Speaker 1: Polanco and his future. Now, the Boston Red Sox might
- 24:10Speaker 1: want him. This is from Salmon and Ken Rosenthal's column.
- 24:14Speaker 1: The Red Sox may want him, guys, if they do,
- 24:17Speaker 1: in fact lose third baseman Alex Bregman. The Blue Jays
- 24:20Speaker 1: might be a fit if they lose Boba Shit. And
- 24:22Speaker 1: those are just two of the possibilities. Where do you
- 24:25Speaker 1: see Polonco landing?
- 24:26Speaker 2: Aja Seattle and the Red Sox are always in on everybody.
- 24:31Speaker 2: That's the whole running joke on the show.
- 24:33Speaker 3: A Loanta. The Red Sox are Oh we tried, we
- 24:35Speaker 3: never just never got across the finish line. Right.
- 24:38Speaker 2: So I think Seattle was a great fit for him
- 24:41Speaker 2: last year that he really reinvented himself, had a great year.
- 24:44Speaker 2: He fits in that in that I mean to think
- 24:46Speaker 2: about the big hits he got. So I think Seattle,
- 24:49Speaker 2: I mean a lot of teams would like Jorge Blank
- 24:51Speaker 2: He's a switch hitter with power that can play. He
- 24:54Speaker 2: can play second for you. He can also probably play
- 24:56Speaker 2: first or third if you need him to in a pinch.
- 24:58Speaker 2: So I think there's a lot of but I'd love
- 25:00Speaker 2: to see him back in Seattle. Yeah, I think it's
- 25:07Speaker 2: I think it's easy. I think it's an easy fit there.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I don't see how long that contract's going to be,
- 25:12Speaker 2: so I feel like he slides into that that space
- 25:16Speaker 2: where it's got to be a team that doesn't really
- 25:18Speaker 2: need a lot of pitching help, doesn't really need they
- 25:20Speaker 2: need to add some need to add some offense.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I agree, back to Seattle. Okay.
- 25:27Speaker 1: McKenzie gore the lefty under club control with the Nats
- 25:30Speaker 1: for two more seasons. With the projected arbitration number of
- 25:33Speaker 1: four point seven million, would seem a more obvious candidate
- 25:37Speaker 1: for the Nats to move.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Guys.
- 25:38Speaker 1: They have a new manager, they're still in rebuild. You
- 25:40Speaker 1: guys said yesterday that the Washington Nationals are irrelevant. Where
- 25:44Speaker 1: do you see McKenzie gore ending up?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Hey, Jay, PROVEI mere wrong that they're relevant, and then
- 25:52Speaker 2: we'll talk about him. But for four point five million,
- 25:55Speaker 2: where you should stay right where he's at in Washington?
- 25:58Speaker 3: I mean, cool, that's nothing. This guy's pretty good.
- 26:01Speaker 2: He gets you a punch out, He'll win you some
- 26:03Speaker 2: games if they could just figure out a way to
- 26:05Speaker 2: score him any kind of runs. I think he stays there.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I mean, where's he gonna end up? I mean, would
- 26:09Speaker 2: they get stuff for him? Sure, But I think you
- 26:12Speaker 2: should stay right there because at some point Washington is
- 26:14Speaker 2: going to have to build around somebody.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Is it is it would? Is it Gore? Is it Abram?
- 26:19Speaker 3: Who's it gonna be?
- 26:19Speaker 2: I mean, they signed Kybert Reeves, He's been hurt since
- 26:22Speaker 2: they signed him to that, so who do they build around?
- 26:24Speaker 2: Mckenzi Gore is a pretty good piece to start at,
- 26:27Speaker 2: and I would try to lock him up for a
- 26:28Speaker 2: long term and say, hey, at least we have one pitcher,
- 26:30Speaker 2: we can count.
- 26:32Speaker 1: What if it's Abrams in a package deal.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Bige shortstop obviously c J.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Abrams has you know, maybe some more growing up to do,
- 26:43Speaker 2: but he's growing up in the big leagues and he
- 26:44Speaker 2: puts up big time numbers. So I mean, if you
- 26:47Speaker 2: need a shortstop, you know, how would both of those
- 26:49Speaker 2: guys look in Atlanta? Obviously they they would love some
- 26:54Speaker 2: left hand more left handed pitching. They would love a
- 26:56Speaker 2: starting pitcher. That's you know, coming off a healthy year.
- 27:00Speaker 2: To me, I feel like there's I know this will
- 27:02Speaker 2: never happen, but it feels like if you've ever been
- 27:04Speaker 2: to like a white elephant gift where they like you
- 27:07Speaker 2: go in the middle and you like, pick a gift
- 27:09Speaker 2: if somebody's if somebody's picked a gift three times, it
- 27:12Speaker 2: can't be exchanged. If you were in a package for
- 27:15Speaker 2: a prospect, I mean for an elite superstar like Juan Soto,
- 27:20Speaker 2: like you were traded to that team because the team
- 27:22Speaker 2: wanted to not resign that guy and they wanted to rebuild.
- 27:28Speaker 2: He's not even done in six years yet, and they're
- 27:31Speaker 2: looking they're talking about trading him. It's like, like, wasn't
- 27:34Speaker 2: this I get a team's fail on this kind of stuff.
- 27:37Speaker 2: But he was supposed to be one of the pieces
- 27:39Speaker 2: and is one of those pieces. Instead of saying, oh,
- 27:43Speaker 2: we got to take a step back and get rid
- 27:44Speaker 2: of CJ. Abrams, we got to take a step back
- 27:47Speaker 2: and just see, you know, see what's out there.
- 27:49Speaker 3: We have a player development manager. No like, keep him.
- 27:54Speaker 2: He can be a number two or number three and
- 27:56Speaker 2: start adding pieces, which they should have done last offseason,
- 27:59Speaker 2: is my opinion. But look, if Mackenzie Gore's is really available,
- 28:03Speaker 2: it's going to cost a lot, and I don't know
- 28:05Speaker 2: that teams are going to be willing to pay that
- 28:08Speaker 2: much because he kind of his numbers kind of fell
- 28:12Speaker 2: off a little bit throughout the year last year, at
- 28:15Speaker 2: the beginning the year, he's leading the league in strikeouts,
- 28:16Speaker 2: still ended up with like almost two hundred strikeouts. So
- 28:19Speaker 2: to me, the values there, I mean.
- 28:22Speaker 1: He's young, he's twenty seven, right, And Paul Tiboni, the
- 28:25Speaker 1: new president of Baseball Operations, because of course the Nash
- 28:27Speaker 1: just went through a huge front office overhaul, thinks he
- 28:29Speaker 1: can take it to the next gear. What would that
- 28:31Speaker 1: next gear be?
- 28:32Speaker 3: Guys?
- 28:33Speaker 1: What does he need to do to get even more.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Elite Limited walks a little bit and go deeper into games.
- 28:41Speaker 2: He doesn't go that if you look at his numbers,
- 28:43Speaker 2: he doesn't go that deep because he strikes a lot
- 28:44Speaker 2: of guys out.
- 28:45Speaker 3: He goes has a lot of deep counts.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So I think figuring out how to go deeper into
- 28:49Speaker 2: games is the big thing for me that I think
- 28:51Speaker 2: teams look at. But listen, Mackenzie Gore could be a good,
- 28:54Speaker 2: really special pitcher in this league for a long time,
- 28:57Speaker 2: for the next you know, however long you want to
- 28:59Speaker 2: have him. And geez, I mean, you know, you joked
- 29:02Speaker 2: that we said the Nats are irrelevant. They just made
- 29:05Speaker 2: a rebuild. They just did a rebuild right when they
- 29:07Speaker 2: traded one Soto. Now here we are again a couple
- 29:09Speaker 2: years later, they're doing it again and again. It's like,
- 29:13Speaker 2: at some point, figure it out, that's it. New front
- 29:15Speaker 2: office learners. Sell the team if that's what you want
- 29:18Speaker 2: to do, and figure it out, because rebuild, rebuild, rebuild,
- 29:21Speaker 2: Come on. I think there's I think when I watched
- 29:24Speaker 2: Mackenzie Gore, he's not Teik Scuoble level, but he has
- 29:28Speaker 2: stuff that is swinging miss and I think he chases
- 29:31Speaker 2: swinging miss out of the zone more often than he
- 29:35Speaker 2: needs to. Is that a change in his approach? Does
- 29:38Speaker 2: he need to get confidence that he can get those
- 29:41Speaker 2: outs in the zone? But I think his stuff because
- 29:43Speaker 2: it comes from that awkward angle that his outs, his
- 29:49Speaker 2: strikeouts can be in the zone.
- 29:51Speaker 1: This is pretty funny. So Chandler Rome apparently, who's a
- 29:54Speaker 1: co host of course, of Krush City Territory, read angry
- 29:57Speaker 1: messages he got after revealing his a l m VP vote.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Now he voted for Judges the al MVP. But take
- 30:03Speaker 1: a listen to this.
- 30:05Speaker 5: This specimen said, are you really that butt hurt that
- 30:10Speaker 5: the Mariners won the Al West over your Astros that
- 30:13Speaker 5: you decided to vote Judge out of spite? This is
- 30:16Speaker 5: why you are fake news and why we don't trust
- 30:19Speaker 5: the media anymore. You guys have agendas, and that's why
- 30:22Speaker 5: newspapers are dead and why people don't watch ESPN or
- 30:26Speaker 5: the news anymore. It's people like you that make it
- 30:29Speaker 5: possible stay woke about the Mariners defeating your Astros in
- 30:34Speaker 5: the Al West. We just got started. We are going
- 30:37Speaker 5: to be a dynasty soon. While the Astros Spell with
- 30:40Speaker 5: an extra s are a team in decline. So appreciate
- 30:44Speaker 5: less help.
- 30:46Speaker 1: That's what I love about that, though, is that he
- 30:48Speaker 1: actually smiled. Chandler Rome actually smiled while he was reading
- 30:52Speaker 1: a mean tweet. AJ Pierzinski. Do you read mean tweets
- 30:56Speaker 1: of yourself? Do you watch social media at all?
- 30:59Speaker 3: Naw? Do you think I care? Do you think I care?
- 31:03Speaker 3: I think it's hilarious.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I I you know, when I call a game all
- 31:07Speaker 2: the time, people write all this stuff and even on
- 31:10Speaker 2: the comments on the stuff we put out on this show,
- 31:13Speaker 2: and people are like, oh, this guy did this and this,
- 31:16Speaker 2: like come on, Like I find it funny that people
- 31:18Speaker 2: take time out of their day and waste energy on
- 31:21Speaker 2: trying to insult people that they're watching on TV. Like
- 31:25Speaker 2: if you have a different opinion, that you can say,
- 31:27Speaker 2: I don't agree with you. But then they just take
- 31:29Speaker 2: these personal shots and you're just like, come on, Oh, that's.
- 31:33Speaker 1: That's social media though. It's like keyboard warriors that live
- 31:36Speaker 1: in their parents' basement. Anybody can be a big time
- 31:39Speaker 1: when they're behind a keyboard and you don't have to
- 31:41Speaker 1: say it face to face.
- 31:43Speaker 2: My favorite is my favorite is when they they'll say
- 31:46Speaker 2: something like cratch, what an idiot?
- 31:49Speaker 3: He only hit two oh nine, negative war player.
- 31:53Speaker 2: And then they're like, but I like Alana and aj
- 31:55Speaker 2: is an idiot too, Like it's just like just thrown
- 31:59Speaker 2: stand under standard barb because I said something about their organization.
