BANNED from COIN SHOP 🚨 SILVER STACKERS BEWARE 🚨 · SILVER / GOLD / $UFD: Surviving Global Economic Shifts | RONS BASEMENT

If you love stacking silver and gold bullion, you're going to
• 0:07
find yourself needing to go to a coin shop.
• 0:11
But there's certain things you can do that will get you kicked
• 0:15
out of the coin shop. There's certain things you
• 0:19
should and should not do, and we're going to cover all of
• 0:22
those in this video with someone who has a little experience, our
• 0:26
friend Coin Shop Chris. How you doing, Ron?
• 0:30
I'm doing great, Chris. How are you?
• 0:33
Hanging in there. I mean, it's been a rough week,
• 0:35
but we would try to do our best every week.
• 0:40
That's right. Well, hey, let's say I go to my
• 0:42
local coin shop this morning after we get done here and I'm
• 0:46
going to buy myself A10 oz silver bar.
• 0:49
And I walk in and there's a few people at the counter already,
• 0:53
and there's a guy who's wanting to sell a 10 ounce bar back to
• 0:57
the coin shop. And I hear the coin shop owner
• 1:00
offer him, let's say $230. Is it okay for me to jump in and
• 1:06
say, hey, you know what, I'll I'll pay you $235.
• 1:10
Is that a? Is that a good idea for me to do
• 1:12
that? That will be the first thing you
• 1:15
would get kicked out of the coin shop.
• 1:18
You know, Ron, I mean that that's happened to us at the
• 1:21
shop and we have thrown people out and I know other shops have
• 1:25
thrown people out. I mean, that's kind of.
• 1:27
Getting involved with other people's deals.
• 1:30
You you, you know, don't that you're on the coin shops
• 1:34
property for for one. So I mean that's that's a bad
• 1:38
movie. You want to step into someone
• 1:39
  else's deal. No, I wouldn't recommend just
• 1:42
keep your mouth shut, let the deal go through.
• 1:45
If you're able to buy it from the shop afterwards, depending
• 1:48
on the state you live in, then work out the deal with the shop.
• 1:52
Okay okay. But what if I'm what if I'm that
• 1:55
guy Let's say I want to bring, which I would never do.
• 1:58
I've never sold an ounce of silver.
• 1:59
But what if I wanted to bring my 10 ounce bar into the coin shop
• 2:04
this morning because I wanted to convert it for some Fiat money
• 2:10
and I go in and they give me an offer that I don't like?
• 2:13
Is it okay for me to yell and scream and make a big scene in
• 2:16
the coin shop? Well, that would probably get
• 2:19
you thrown out too, Ron, I mean. You, you know, it's it's an
• 2:23
offer. If you don't like the offer, you
• 2:25
can try to wheel and deal. I mean that's fine.
• 2:28
But people have to remember the shop needs to make a little bit
• 2:31
of money too. We, you know, most shops are not
• 2:35
going to, you know, really lowball you.
• 2:39
You know, they have to make a few bucks off you.
• 2:43
So I mean, you know, you can wheel and deal.
• 2:45
I mean, but if you don't like the offer, if you can't make a
• 2:50
deal. Just say thank you and walk out.
• 2:53
Okay. So I've been thrown out twice
• 2:55
now from the coin shop. Let's see if the third time here
• 2:58
  is a charm. Let's say let's say I'm hungry
• 3:03
before I head into the coin shop this morning.
• 3:05
So I decide to eat 4 Ding dongs and then I drive over to the
• 3:10
coin shop but I forget to check my hands or wash my hands and
• 3:13
I've got chocolate goop Ding Dong goop.
• 3:16
I don't know who would eat those Ding dongs anyway, but I got
• 3:18
chocolate Ding Dong goop all over my fingers in the coin shop
• 3:22
and I asked the coin shop owner to look at this nice brand new
• 3:26
BU American Silver Eagle and they hand me the Silver Eagles.
• 3:30
Is it okay? If I get the Ding Dong goop all
• 3:34
over the brand new silver eagle, they can just wipe it off with a
• 3:36
with a napkin, right? Well, the coin shop might not
• 3:40
know it's not Ding Dong Goop, but.
• 3:46
Any who but no you know come in with clean hands.
• 3:49
I mean you know we have had people come in they go to talk
• 3:53
about this is this happened a few months ago and they went to
• 3:57
go eat some Doritos tacos at Taco Bell and they got Cheetos
• 4:01
you know the Dorito the rides do all over their hands.
• 4:06
You know, you know. You know you want to come in
• 4:08
with clean hands. And you you know that's not
• 4:13
specifically going to get you kicked out of the coin shop.
• 4:16
But you know, the coin shop might give you a hand wipe and
• 4:19
say you you need to wash your hands before you touch my coins,
• 4:23
Okay. And we know, and we know you
• 4:25
always want to buy from reputable shops.
• 4:27
But let's say let's just say that Ron's a little paranoid and
• 4:31
he's he's not sure if if that silver coin that the coin dealer
• 4:36
handed me is real or not. And I know that when you clink
• 4:39
silver together it makes a very distinct sound.
• 4:41
Is it okay for me to take that American Silver Eagle they
• 4:44
handed me and and clink it against maybe my my pocket piece
• 4:48
of silver that I carry around just to make sure it sounds
• 4:50
right? You know, some shops don't mind
• 4:53
that, Ron. If it's a BU coin, they don't do
• 4:56
it. I mean, if you're that hesitant
• 4:59
to see if it's real, most coin shops will check to prove to you
• 5:04
it's real. Just ask for the shop to put it
• 5:07
on this on the signal or the XRF if they have an XRF and they
• 5:12
will check it for for you, it's not.
• 5:14
That's not an insult to any no coin shop that should take that
• 5:18
as an insult run. You know, verifying the silver
• 5:22
that you buy from them because they don't want to be known out
• 5:24
there. No coin shop wants to be known
• 5:26
for selling fake silver, gold, or platinum, for that matter.
• 5:31
  Gotcha. Gotcha.
• 5:32
And you know I'm, I'm, I'd like to refer to myself as
• 5:35
resourceful, Ron. I'm very frugal with my with my
• 5:38
money. So if if I go in and you know
• 5:42
maybe look at a 10 ounce bar, I'm thinking I might want to buy
• 5:45
it and they give me a price. Is it okay?
• 5:48
Is it better for me to kind of, in a my normal loud voice say,
• 5:52
oh that's too high, I want a lower price or how how how would
• 5:55
how would I handle that situation then not get myself
• 5:58
kicked out of the coin shop? Well that may not get you kicked
• 6:02
out of the coin shop. It could in some shops.
• 6:04
But you know, if you're just people around, if now let's say,
• 6:07
if this is your first time going in, don't ask for a deal the
• 6:10
first time you're going in get you know, really get to know
• 6:14
your coin shop staff before you ask for a deal.
• 6:18
Do you know? I mean, but if you if you are go
• 6:22
there, you're patron them up a lot you know, you you can say
• 6:25
you know coin shop Chris, you know.
• 6:28
Can you take 8 bucks off? You know, something quietly, so
• 6:31
other people are not hearing you because we don't want to be, you
• 6:36
know, saying we give deals to everybody.
• 6:38
We will make a cheaper price. Normally what happens wrong is
• 6:43
is very little wiggle room on bowling stuff.
• 6:48
Now we're talking nubismatic. You might have more of a wiggle
• 6:51
room to get a better deal. Really.
• 6:56
You want to do it quietly, you know, with the shop owner or the
• 7:01
workers in the shop? Okay, okay.
• 7:04
What if I bring my my 10 ounce bar in and I want to convert it
• 7:08
to some paper money? I can't fathom ever wanting to
• 7:12
do that. But let's say I do and I get
• 7:15
there and I hand it over to him and they take a look at it and
• 7:18
put it on a testing machine and they say we got bad news for you
• 7:22
Mr. Ron's basement. This is a fake silver bar.
• 7:26
Is it okay for me to to throw a fit in the shop and and and
• 7:30
contest them or what's the best way to handle that situation
• 7:34
Chris well? Again, it depends what state you
• 7:37
  live in. You know?
• 7:38
Why are you going to get mad at the shop?
• 7:40
The shop is not going to tell you it's fake.
• 7:43
If it's. If it's not fake, you know
• 7:47
they're not. They're not out there to hurt
• 7:49
you in any ways. I mean, if it's fake, it's not
• 7:51
the coin shop's fault. You're the one who bought the
• 7:55
bar. So I mean you, you know, if it's
• 7:58
fake, it's fake. That's just that, that has
• 8:00
happened to work many times. If people yell and scream, hey,
• 8:05
if it's real, we're going to buy it.
• 8:06
If it's not, we ain't going to buy your fake, fake stuff.
• 8:12
And you know, and you know for sure that they didn't buy it
• 8:14
from you to begin with, obviously, because you test
• 8:17
everything. So, yeah, that's, I guess you
• 8:20
could get, I guess the the the one circumstance where it would
• 8:23
be okay to get mad as if you'd bought it from the same shop and
• 8:26
brought it back in. And they say, Oh no, this is a
• 8:28
  fake. Well, wait a minute.
• 8:29
You sold me this, you know, two years ago or a year ago,
• 8:32
whatever the case may be. And those cases have has
• 8:36
happened, Ron. I mean, you know, those cases
• 8:38
have happened. Yes, we try to test everything
• 8:41
most shops do sometimes. You know, you get in rush,
• 8:44
you're busy, you don't test something and it goes out the
• 8:47
door and and it comes back as being fake a year or two later.
• 8:52
I mean it does happen. You know it.
• 8:56
It's hard to prove that we actually stole it to them unless
• 8:59
they don't have the receipt. But if it don't have a serial
• 9:01
number on it. And then it's even harder
• 9:03
because they could have got a fake one from somebody else and
• 9:05
say we sold them that one. So I mean, you know, before the
• 9:08
best thing is before you leave any shop is really to have them
• 9:13
verify it, you know, or you verify it yourself.
• 9:17
That's just the best way. I mean, you know, that way, you
• 9:21
know for sure, even though you think even though the coin
• 9:25
shop's a good coin shop and most of the coin shops are, it's not
• 9:28
to me. It's not an insult for me to
• 9:30
  test. Anything.
• 9:32
I rather test everything that goes out the door to make sure
• 9:36
that the people know that they gain real stuff right right
• 9:41
first. Mining Gold is a development
• 9:43
company advancing 2 of the. Largest gold projects in Canada,
• 9:47
Spring Poll in Ontario and Du Parquet located in Quebec.
• 9:52
Each already has. 5 million ounces of gold reserves but.
• 9:56
Exploration initiatives are underway at both projects to
• 10:00
find even more gold. First, mining is well financed,
• 10:04
has zero debt, and owns an interest in four additional
• 10:08
  Canadian gold development projects.
• 10:11
Now I've got this silver urn that sets up on our Mantel here
• 10:18
at the house by the fireplace. And I've got my my beloved
• 10:23
cousin Eddie's ashes in there. He's passed away.
• 10:27
And I know that this urn, when I bought it, said they, the the
• 10:31
company assured me that it has eight solid ounces of silver in
• 10:35
it. And you know, I'm, I'm kind of
• 10:37
getting tired of having the urn sit there.
• 10:39
I think I'm going to bring it into the coin shop today.
• 10:41
But this is very important to me, this urn.
• 10:44
But I want to, I want to get some money out of.
• 10:46
It's got high sentimental value to me.
• 10:48
What about when I offer to sell something like that back to the
• 10:51
coin shop? Well, you know, most shops are
• 10:54
not not, not most, But all shops that I know of are not going to
• 10:59
pay for sentimental value. Something like that.
• 11:02
Or a coin that your grandfather passed on or your grandmother
• 11:06
passed on or your parents passed on.
• 11:08
If it has that much sentimental value to you, then you might
• 11:12
just want to hang on to it. Because you know, we are only
• 11:16
you know, most all shops are just going to pay for this.
• 11:20
They're not going to say, oh, it's an 1890CC Morgan dollar and
• 11:26
my grandfather gave it to me and it's and I think it's worth 400
• 11:30
bucks. And really it's only worth
• 11:32
whatever, 300, three, 150 bucks, you know, if it's worth for 350,
• 11:38
  let's say. I don't know.
• 11:39
I'm just pulling a number out of my headline.
• 11:42
You know, the point. The point is we don't pay for
• 11:44
sentimental value. I mean unless, unless the unless
• 11:48
the purchaser has some sentimental value toward that
• 11:52
item as well Because like I would imagine if somebody came
• 11:54
into your shop with a hockey puck shaped custom silver case
• 12:00
that you might pay a little premium for that yourself.
• 12:02
Is that safe to say, Chris? That would be safe to say then
• 12:05
that and that thing. If the shop needs the item, that
• 12:11
would be safe to say. They might pay a little bit more
• 12:13
because they like the piece themselves.
• 12:15
They may want for themselves. Hockey.
• 12:18
A hockey puck shaped silver case.
• 12:20
Chris, do you know what that could be used for?
• 12:24
And used to hold my Ding dongs on a custom Ding Dong case.
• 12:30
You know, I have a question for you.
• 12:31
I came up with a new it's called the silver Ding Dong indicator.
• 12:36
The silver to Ding Dong ratio I calculated this morning one
• 12:42
  ounce of silver. Right?
• 12:44
Now if you figure a Ding Dong cost about $0.35 each, is that
• 12:47
70? So for each ounce of silver
• 12:50
right now you could trade for 70 Ding dongs.
• 12:53
Do you have any thoughts on that?
• 12:55
Are you are you a converter at that rate or are you looking for
• 12:59
a higher Ding Dong to silver ratio?
• 13:03
I'm only a converter on that rate.
• 13:05
When the dollar falls run and I have to use silver to buy my
• 13:10
Ding Dongs. Maybe 200 Ding Dongs per oz 300.
• 13:17
What's your number? You know, I really don't have a
• 13:21
number one, but you know how much is a box of Ding Dongs
• 13:25
worth in cash? I mean you you know are you
• 13:29
going to are you we we're going to buy Ding Ding Dongs at seven
• 13:32
8-9 dollars a box and Fiat currency.
• 13:36
Are we going to stop buying them?
• 13:38
Well, if we get the $100, if we get the $100 silver, you'll be
• 13:42
able to get 300 Ding Dongs per oz.
• 13:45
So we'll see how that goes up I think to get and I got us off
• 13:49
track, I apologize to everyone who's joining us right now on
• 13:52
many levels, but nonetheless we're getting off track.
• 13:54
And you know, I think the moral to the story is that when you,
• 13:58
when you go into a coin shop and you're going to convert or if
• 14:03
you have to convert some of your silver into Fiat or vice versa,
• 14:07
you're converting some Fiat into silver, which is I hope more
• 14:11
likely the case for our viewers right now.
• 14:14
Be cool to use common sense, right?
• 14:17
You know, wash your hands, be nice.
• 14:21
Being nice can get you a long way when you're dealing with,
• 14:26
with, with, with people in the coin shop.
• 14:28
Anything else you want to throw in there, Chris, that I forgot
• 14:30
to mention? You know, yeah if you know if
• 14:32
anybody has questions, you know in the add a coin coin shop.
• 14:37
You know if if I've said this before in previous videos, wrong
• 14:40
with you know one of my first videos I've done with you.
• 14:42
If if a shop is not going to take the time take 1015 minutes
• 14:48
to talk to you then maybe that's not the shop for you.
• 14:52
You know, really, I mean if. You know I I'll call it any shop
• 14:57
you you know if they if they don't can't give you the little
• 14:59
bit of their time to talk to you.
• 15:02
Then I went. I wouldn't get it from that
• 15:06
shop. You, you know, and if everybody
• 15:07
can tap the like on this because you know we really need some
• 15:11
more likes there and really helps get the word out and I
• 15:15
appreciate everybody listening to me and listen to Ron and we
• 15:19
  appreciate everybody's you know. Comments.
• 15:22
So if we can help, let's all try to help each other in the
• 15:25
comments too. We apply the one comment.
• 15:28
That's all. That's all we ask.
• 15:31
And later in the video we're gonna talk about how Coin Shop
• 15:35
Chris is discovered, a way for you to say, save $75.
• 15:42
And if you want to help support Coin Shop Chris because he does
• 15:44
all this out of the kindness of his heart.
• 15:46
There's a link in the description of this video where
• 15:49
you can make a nice little donation to him and I think
• 15:52
we'll probably put a pen comment as well.
• 15:54
But before we get to saving $75, Coin Shop Chris every week
• 15:59
provides his monthly numbers. Chris, can you run through those
• 16:02
for us? Well, I thank you for that
• 16:04
shout, shall I? Ron, you know, I appreciate
• 16:07
that. This has been a tough week, as
• 16:09
we all know. I mean, this week it's been
• 16:11
miserable to say the least. But over the last 30 days,
• 16:16
silver was down $2.40 or 9.67%, Ron.
• 16:23
  Ouch under 10%. Under 10%, well, that's, I guess
• 16:28
that's good news. But we still have not dip below
• 16:32
22, like you know. I said we're not going to get
• 16:36
  below 22. We might.
• 16:37
We might see that next week. Moving on to gold.
• 16:41
The last 30 days we were down $100.50 or down 5.11%.
• 16:48
Platinum was down $71.10 or 7.21%.
• 16:55
Bitcoin was down also. $836.99 or down 3.02% Oil kind of stayed
• 17:04
flat over this past week on we're still up over the 30 days,
• 17:08
up $9.61 a barrel or up 11.84%. This week I've seen it high as
• 17:16
over 13%, but over the last 30 days that's your average.
• 17:23
Thank you. Something to keep your eye on,
• 17:26
Yeah, oil. Something to keep your eye on.
• 17:27
And when it comes to these atrocious moves we've had in
• 17:30
silver and gold, we need to remember all of us.
• 17:33
You, me and our viewer. Who's with us right now?
• 17:36
Our fellow basement dweller. Please don't forget to subscribe
• 17:39
to this channel. I put out new content every day,
• 17:41
but nonetheless, right? We've had an atrocious week,
• 17:46
really a pretty bad month as well.
• 17:48
But we're still Okay and it's still a good idea in our opinion
• 17:53
to invest into silver and gold. And if you want to buy some
• 17:56
silver, gold, check out Pin Becks.
• 17:58
They're our sponsor online bullion dealer.
• 18:02
I've worked with them several times over the last year.
• 18:05
I've been very happy with the price, the service, the
• 18:08
  selection. I trust Pin Becks.
• 18:11
I encourage you to throw them in the mix when you go shopping for
• 18:14
precious metals. And I think you'll agree with me
• 18:18
that Pin Becks is best. Now, Chris, you've got an
• 18:21
opportunity for people to save $75.
• 18:24
Let's hear it. Or actually $76.50 run No, it
• 18:29
went up. So anyways, you know when we say
• 18:32
shop around and you know I I check a deal every single week
• 18:39
and this is you know, I checked them throughout the week.
• 18:42
Ron him back has always come back to the best price that I've
• 18:46
  seen. Every single time.
• 18:49
So let's get right into this wrong.
• 18:51
I was looking for this week a a a tube of 2023 Maple Leaf Coins,
• 18:57
which is 25 coins in this tube at Max was at $728.00 for 25
• 19:06
coins. JM Bolin was at 72675.
• 19:11
Muddy Metals was at 712 dollars. Silver Golden Bow was at $680.
• 19:20
DBS Coin on eBay was at $670.70. FD Bowling was at $676.25.
• 19:32
Hero Bowling was at $660. Liberty Coin on eBay was at six
• 19:38
6148. Pinehurst on eBay was 65178, but
• 19:44
Pinbacks wins again. Pinbacks just beat out Pinehurst
• 19:47
at six 5150, a difference of the difference of from Pinbacks to
• 19:55
at Max with $76.50. With now, you could buy yourself
• 20:01
three extra ounces of silver. Yeah, you, you know So if, if,
• 20:07
if people want to keep shopping at at.
• 20:10
At Max or JM or Money Metals, you're paying too much.
• 20:14
You're paying way too much. Any of these companies, you're
• 20:16
really paying too much. I mean, the only one that was
• 20:19
close was Pinehurst, but pinbacks still beat them out.
• 20:23
I don't know how pinbacks, I don't know how pinbacks, week
• 20:26
after week, long day after day can have the best price.
• 20:31
And if you got if nobody believes us, check us out.
• 20:34
Check my check me out. I, I, I challenge anybody to
• 20:37
find a cheaper price. Yeah, put it in the comments.
• 20:40
If you find a cheaper price and and you obviously are taking
• 20:43
those prices all at the same time.
• 20:47
Was it last night that it? Was done last night at at 5535
• 20:52
last night Ron and. Of course, you know, it took me
• 20:56
about 40 minutes to check all these prices out doing the math,
• 20:59
because some of these companies did not actually sell a whole
• 21:02
tube. You had to time to buy 25 to get
• 21:05
the tube price. But you know, yeah, it takes a
• 21:08
little bit of work, but you know, I'm happy to do it for
• 21:11
you, Ron. I'm happy to do it for your
• 21:12
viewers, Ron. And I think it really helps out,
• 21:15
you know, everybody out there saying, you know, if you're
• 21:19
looking at other companies and you're buying from other
• 21:22
  companies, you're paying too much.
• 21:25
Yeah, yeah, well, that's a lot of time, 45 minutes.
• 21:28
I imagine you probably ate a few Ding Dongs during that period,
• 21:32
  Chris. You know the boss.
• 21:36
The box I bought this week, Ron is gone now.
• 21:39
So thank, thank you Chris. OK on behalf of everyone
• 21:45
watching you do this as a service to the community, you're
• 21:50
  always answering questions for people.
• 21:51
It's like coin shop, Chris's virtual coin shop.
• 21:54
It feels like, you know you talk about how to how we talked about
• 21:57
how to act in a coin shop, how to not get thrown out.
• 22:00
You know you want to have a good relationship with your local
• 22:02
coin shop, but you and a lot of ways run kind of a Iran's
• 22:06
basement, not-for-profit free coin shop with all the questions
• 22:11
you answer. So on behalf of everyone who's
• 22:13
joined us for this video and previous videos and for all the
• 22:18
people who you've helped out of purely the kindness of your
• 22:22
heart, thank you. And I want to remind everyone
• 22:24
one more time, if you feel like you've gotten some benefit from
• 22:27
hearing Coin Shop Chris and want to help him feed his Ding Dong
• 22:31
habit, we're going to put a link or there's a link in the
• 22:35
description of this video and then we'll put a pen comment as
• 22:38
well. Chris, we'll see you next week.
• 22:40
Thank you. Thank you very much, Ron.
• 22:42
