- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's some things that.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like in the Dolphins favor.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's some things I don't like in the Dolphins favor in this game.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think Chris has been out there on Twitter saying that he kind of likes.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: My I mean this game, we'll get into it.

- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Again, three or five, eight hundred pain, three or five, eight hundred pain.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I'll start here, Chris.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns have the worst quarterback play in the entire league.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it got worse last week, okay?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: But if you look at their home games, and this is going to go out the window, because we're going to start here when the dolphins are on the difference.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's the worst call of our play.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't thrown in reception yet, just in fields.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I was a guy even and he had minus nine yards passing.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_03]: It would be serious.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's twenty-five, not in sixty-five.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just the feels has the most unfortunate stat of all time.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: And when I heard it, I'm like, this is a made-up stat.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: I looked it up and it's like, yeah, yeah, that's actually legitimate.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's all in twenty-six when they're posing team scores 21 points.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's going so hard.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's not, and that is a quarterback stack.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_04]: But that's that's rough.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so yeah, that is not good.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: So Chris, I'm gonna start with Chris here on this, because he's been out there and he's, he kind of likes what's going on as far as this matchup is concerned.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: They have the worst quarterback play statistically, although Simon brings up a spectacular point with Justin Fields.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're very good against the past.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: They can rush the passer.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: They run the ball well.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: So this seems like it's a matchup of...
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Quinceon Jenkins versus our defense, and I guess two withdrawing the ball short and the dolphin running game against their, their defense seems like an even matchup to me and it seems like Vegas agrees because they have installed the Cleveland Browns as favorites in this game.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: How do you see it in their favor concerning, dolphin defense versus the Cleveland Browns offense?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, this is, um, so first off from a high level view, uh, getting this out there, you know, does spoil it.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I will be picking the dolphins at the end of the show.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and in fact, listening again, then.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and in fact, you know, if, uh, if I hadn't already used my survivor pick on the jet's game, which I might have, um, because, you know, a survivor league, you don't, you want to be very, very choosey about where you pick a dog like the dolphins.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_04]: to win a game because they're so unreliable at that.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_04]: I think this would be a survivor pick almost for me, for them to go up in Cleveland and win.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_04]: These are two bad teams.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_04]: They're both one and five.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we know that.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_04]: This is really these are a battle of the offels, but as far as the dolphins defense is concerned, I think that it boils down to one thing.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_04]: for them on defense and I know that they're bad and a bunch of different things, but the cascade of failures starts in a very certain place and that's on first step.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_04]: The dolphins are the worst defense in the league or I have the lowest percentage of third and longs of any defensively, as far as their plays are concerned.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_04]: The titans are up there with them, but it's really bad, right?
- 4:37[SPEAKER_04]: That'll start actually on first down because they're not, believe or not, they're not bad on second down and the reason that that's important is because if you think about situationally what first down entails, it is the highest run pass conflict.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_04]: of any situation and run past conflict doesn't mean simply that you that you, you know, have the highest percentage of runs.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: No, it means that it's really dealer's choice.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's the play collar choice.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: The play collar has the largest amount of freedom and the widest array of plays to choose from on first down.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: The entire play sheet is available to them.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I think that if you look at that, you're starting to see the reason the dolphins are bad on first down.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_04]: They're relying on so many young players, inexperienced players, players that are new with each other.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_04]: The football IQ is not very strong for the dolphins right now.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_04]: When the entire, you know, pantheon of plays are available to the opposing offense.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_04]: And there's a lot of run-pass conflict.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_04]: You can see that in their successes on second down when you start to whittle down situations.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_04]: If the playbook is like a large pie, then second down, you're starting getting the scenarios where second and ten is very different from second and five, second and one is very different from second and ten and second and five.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_04]: You start to say, well, I can move that out of the way.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_04]: That's not a real possibility or I can cut out this and say that's not really a possibility.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_04]: first down everything is available and they're really struggling on that.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_04]: Now, on the other side of it, the Cleveland Browns are the worst first down offense in the league and it's very specific because they are by far the worst passing offense on first down in the league.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_04]: They have an average net, I think it's a, I'm sorry, I'm just in that net yardage of four yards.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: On first down, in the passing game.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_04]: which is just truly a business.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's not getting any better for them.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: And what's happening now with these gale-force wins in this terrible weather that we're expecting, that makes it even worse.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: So what you're doing is you're taking away that uncertainty for the dolphins players that I'm instuggling with uncertainty on first step.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_04]: They've been struggling with trying to find the tells and the nuances, you know, like having a collage Campbell who knows that from a guy's stance,
- 7:11[SPEAKER_04]: from the formation, from the spacing, from that motion over there, and based on the situation in the field position, there'll be able to tell kind of what's coming, the old zac Thomas trick, right?
- 7:22[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the dolphins don't have anybody like that.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_04]: They have a real girth of football IQ, I think, on this defense.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_04]: So you need to make things easier on them.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: and in that weather and facing as a bismal of a pass offense, as the Cleveland Browns are on first down, you're going to do that for them, you're going to whittle it down for them, you're going to give them more certainty.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_04]: And so it's going to get easier for the dolphin first down.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: And because it's easier for the dolphins on first down, the whole cascade doesn't get started.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_04]: We're not you have
- 7:58[SPEAKER_04]: the worst situational, situational football on third down of any team in the league to have, I think it's first or second in terms of third and distance.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that once you start at first down, if you're defending that better, then the defense is gonna play better on all the downs.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_04]: And the defense is the reason that all things are losing.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, duh, we know that the offense is good enough to have one a bunch of these games.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_04]: We know that, this one, I'm not revealing anything to anybody here.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_04]: So if you do that, then you've kind of given the dolphins a pass on the thing that the other teams are able to exploit so well against the dolphins defense.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_04]: And from there, it becomes a matter of, yeah, OK, with the Gailforce wins and terrible weather,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: You're gonna have the Cleveland Browns run game, which obviously is decent.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_04]: It's not good, it's still not good on first now, but it's decent versus a terrible run defense for the dolphins, but also on the dolphins offense, you have the dolphins offense with their run offense.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_04]: I think the dolphins run offense is more creative.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_04]: I think if you know that Iran is coming from the dolphins, you still don't know where because the dolphins have the ability to get out to the perimeter and they have the ability to do all these different tricky after all, Mike McDaniel is a run coordinator right.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_04]: That's his experience.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody, every coach that even the ones that don't really rate Mike McDonald, respect his ability as a run coordinator and ability to create good spacing and misdirection in the run game.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that the Cleveland Browns have that.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't know that they have that going for them the same way.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_04]: So if you eliminate the uncertainty to where you know that the run is all you have to go
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think they've got it.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think they're going to do it, not even at home.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I would say that this is actually a match up that favors the dolphins, where I think a lot of people are just falling into sort of the superficial trap of saying, hey, good running back, good running game, dolphins, terrible, run defense, oh, easy.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_04]: The dolphins lose.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think it's going to play out that way.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Simon?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_03]: What was the question?
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're thinking as far as the the matchup and who does it actually favor on Sunday.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: Cleveland Browns often inverses the dolphin defense as well.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_03]: It's again the dolphins should win.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_03]: This is 25 my every dolphins.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I have seen Cleveland pay twice a season and I saw them absolutely snap all down the Green Bay Packers offence in week three to the point where a pretty good offensive front could not contain.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_03]: that past rush, to the point where Quintron Juzkin started to get his groove.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_03]: Now with their wins as well, I think that plays into Cleveland's favor actually.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think the Dolphin should win.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: whether or not I think that often's will win is another question.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's who have established the run bear.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think two things about the weather, I think it helps it become a run game, but it does help, and I think that helps Cleveland in many regards, because I think they've got better offensive line, but I do think it helps Miami in that two has not really dropped max for 25 times and not getting crunched by Mars Gara at our on that defensive line.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: Who has the best running attack?
- 11:50[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I would take Devon H and I would confront your jerks, but then I would take Stephens over my own defense, especially against run by a long chalk, especially when you throw in, there's interior defensive players who are very good, when you throw in cast and swathens in jail, because I'm in a really good year at a linebacker.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, your own baker is still there.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: for the Browns, got a deal pit, is playing really well.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I think my concern would be that if it just turns into a country in the mouth, country in the mouth, run again, because the weather dictates that you're just not going to have to throw it that, as much as perhaps you would.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_03]: And also I think you've cleared them, keep it close.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_03]: Because you look at it eating, yeah, man, we should probably win this like to 27, 13, something like that, 27, 10.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's what Cleveland did to Green Bay.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_03]: So they just kept it closed.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: They kept force in three and outs.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_03]: They kept just playing real tough on defense.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_03]: They kept the explosives in the run game.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: And all of a sudden, they chipped away with field goals and field goals and field goals, got attached down.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: And then defensively, they just saved us a close-out.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: And I think, if the door doesn't get a lead, I mean, I say this is a team that went 17, nothing up, but against Carolina and that losing.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_03]: But I think if they can get a lead, they'll win.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: I would not like to be in a windy weather game to chase the game by putting the ball in the air knowing that Mars Garrett is on the other side of the ball as one of the great parts were such a good generation.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: So look I think the Dylan Gabriel thing is interesting and I don't think he's got great weapons to throw to you know Jerry juice kind of fall
- 13:39[SPEAKER_03]: There's questions I'd rather than Jukeco's going to go.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_03]: But that two-tying set up, and if they can get that established set running game, I could see us in the mirror where the dolphins found that pretty difficult to contain.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_03]: And if Juggkins has the same kind of play that we saw Riko Dattle have, and we saw Kimani by Dattle have last week, then the dolphins could really be in trouble.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_03]: But I think it's the game they should win if I'm going to be honest.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as far as the, you know, and we're going to get to it on the other side of the break, the dolphin offense versus the Cleveland Brown defense and this is where I see some things differently than than Chris, but yeah, I tend to agree that.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Cleveland Browns passing game is just not very good.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: And Joko looks like he's not going to play.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to reduce them by one as far as a factor.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I know we keep talking about this every week.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I know Anthony Weaver already said this like, hey, yeah, but we did have 26 characters for 60 yards.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: We did that.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: He ignored the other 7 for 80, which is a problem.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I think most of their problems are not to say that they have a great talent because I think they have enough talent to be below average on defense and not worse than the league, which is what they are, they're 31st pretty much across the board.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know how.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: I've watched them play and I guess, you know, it's my bias.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: I look at the dolphins and I just see calamity.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I see the cowboys and I guess deck press cut in that offense is masking a lot of the problems.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: So they seem more entertaining, right?
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I look at it and yeah, I do feel that that's a pretty big advantage when their quarterback is just not going to threaten you and then the weather is going to do have the the work for you.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I do tend to agree there, but the danger is on the other side of the ball and we'll get to that when we go to break and we will talk about all the the trade rumors fake and whatnot that's out there.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: But first, these words.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Jalen Phillips, and you're listening to three yards per carry.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: And we are back.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right, here's my concern.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: The Dolphin offense, I felt against the Chargers.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: The more I dug into that game, I felt that there was going to be stuff to be had for the Dolphin offense against the Chargers.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I kind of liked them.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I told you on the podcast, Chris, that only a cursesin was going to have me pick the Chargers.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I picked them to kick a walk off field and I don't even know if that's exactly what happened.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: while the Carolina Panthers had a glaring neon red advantage, meaning they're two defensive tackles, which are, I don't know, of their top 10 in the league, but maybe close against the two worst guards in the league.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's a pretty big advantage, right?
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like it was kind of a clean slate against the, against the chargers and the dolphin offense was going to have every single opportunity.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: to win that game.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: In this game, I think you're cutting the dolphin offense almost in half.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: There will be no deep passing game, no threat to the third level, which the dolphins haven't enjoyed since Terry Kill has been gone.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: In case we haven't noticed, they've tried these deep shots, they've hit one in each game, one for 46 yards, one for 45 yards.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a trend, it's only two games, but it's promising at least.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's gone.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's not happening.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: The intermediate passing game based on the defense that the Cleveland Browns are going to play I don't think it's going to be available to them so it's going to be one of those one yard a dot games which means and to us good at that he's been he basically played an entire season last year doing that is that going to be enough.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: So you're essentially going to go out there with half of an offense thrown at one yard and running the football is that going to be enough to generate points essentially going to be completely clean that's my concern and I think you're essentially being backed into a corner where there is no opportunity to win by multiple scores you're going to have to win by one score.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: and curse teams are gonna curse teams.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Your thoughts, Simon, on my analysis of this, Dolphin Offences is gonna be playing with one hand in this game.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: Your thoughts.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: Um, if I'm going to be brutally honest out, you've started this question by saying Chris, so I sort of cheered out because I thought you were actually Chris, that's right.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: And then all of a sudden when you threw me, I was just reading something on Twitter about the dolphins and traded right in the chart.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: And then all of a sudden you said my name and I was like, oh, yeah, I haven't listened to the last 20 seconds because you literally said, so Chris, I was like, yeah, I don't listen to me to be honest.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: To be honest, I don't listen to myself either.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_03]: No, it wasn't that it was I would have obviously listened to if you I thought the question was like double-headed, but as you mentioned Chris' name so powerfully at the start of your brief solidically, I just thought here's a good opportunity just to look at trade rumors because that's something you mentioned.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_03]: Therefore slightly zoned out and it was like being at a university lecture when you suddenly have not been
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, what book?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I could have just bled it on about a load of all the nonsense and nothing to do with the question.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think being honest, I've shown my true character and coming forward as I say, you know what?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_03]: I simply wasn't listening, because I thought you were going to my learning friend.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Chris, then you handle it.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_04]: What was the question again?
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: Duffin offense.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: I will I will reduce the the my three minutes a little quick.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_03]: Anything questions on a big out of good thing either.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_03]: That's the other thing.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Duffin offense is going to be playing with one hand.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: No deep passing game allowed.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: No intermediate passing game allowed due to schematic issues.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: So it's going to be a one yard A dot offense with a running game.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: So you're reducing what is actually good about the Miami dolphins.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: and essentially having them play with one hand tied behind their back, how is that good against that good defense?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: Your thoughts, Chris?
- 20:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think, well, for one thing, I would say, I would draw attention to the fact that you mentioned before about Cleveland's past rush and the Dolphins offensive line, and clearly that is a mismatch that could play a big factor here.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_04]: But the Dolphins have been fairly decent at the start of these games, right?
- 20:42[SPEAKER_04]: We've kind of, you know, kind of a first half.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_04]: They did get to the 17 point leading against the Panthers.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_04]: We both talked about how in the Chargers game they were, you know, it was looking all right and in that first half and then the wheels were off in the third quarter.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_04]: Um, if the dolphins are all right at the start of the game, that starts to eliminate the possibility that the, that the Cleveland pass rush can just completely take over.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I think that another factor is you look a quarterback experience.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, Tua and this dolphins offense are no strangers to try to make a when they know that the deep passing
- 21:31[SPEAKER_04]: is they've been unable to make the deep passing game work because of the way that defenses are playing them.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_04]: So they've had to make a underneath and the dolphins have short options.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_04]: They have Devon A-chan.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_04]: able to catch balls.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_04]: They have Darren Waller now able to catch balls.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_04]: They have some short underneath options if the weather is playing a big factor in this game and they also have the better quarterback for navigating things like that.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, flip that question around
- 22:10[SPEAKER_04]: on the Cleveland Browns and how do they succeed, you know, at all to any degree in the passing game with Dylan Gabriel at quarterback.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think the dolphins can get a little bit more going on offense under those circumstances.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_04]: The other thing to consider is what I already brought up, which is the fact that Mike McDaniel is a rotten coordinator.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_04]: and he is a particularly creative run coordinator, really well buttoned up, which I don't think my name is passing game as I've buttoned up, but I think that their run game really is as far as spacing and the thought that goes into each play and angles and everything everything associated.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_04]: I think the dolphins are a more dangerous running attack.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_04]: that can be more boom or bust, you know, if we've talked about that before, they have the highest percentage of runs for loss over the years that Mike McDaniel has been in this league.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_04]: But they also have one of the highest percentage of 10 plus yard runs.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_04]: So the dolphins run attack if this makes any sense, behaves more like a total offense, as opposed to just a piece of the offense.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if that makes sense, but that's the nature of the Dolphins run attack is it's so boomer bus.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_04]: It's more like it profiles more like a total offense.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_04]: And so if you have this game where the run offense has to become the total offense.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_04]: Then yeah, I think that dolphins have a higher selection of they can get it to the outside speed it to the parameters would speed and would play design they can also you know run that inside outside zone and have some success that way so I think that they have more options available to them in the run game if things really do get one sided
- 24:02[SPEAKER_04]: And then even in that setting, I trust to a lot more than I would trust Dillon Gabriel to hit those underneath and not pay for it, you know, to get done the things that actually do need to be done in the passing game.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, again, I think that that I can't help with that.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_04]: They think that that's another area that favors the dolphins, particularly when you're looking at the ability of a Chan and Waller to impact the game.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_04]: in those underneath areas, and in those specialty situations like in the red zone.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_03]: Sam, yeah I agree.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: As much as we joke about him throughout the season, I think that the Darren Waller factor is really important.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, I think that and jokes about him for people that haven't listened or choose to listen to what they want to listen to.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_03]: it was the evolution of the situation rather than the player himself, albeit the injuries were a concern.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that's a matchup that Miami can infiltrate, especially if the weather is the way that it's going to be.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the question would be, you know, what does Cleveland do?
- 25:11[SPEAKER_03]: They're back in defenders, they get them close to the line, because they don't trust it too.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: It can throw the ball over his head because of the strong wind.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_03]: And let's, you know, an under average,
- 25:20[SPEAKER_03]: under average Armstrong.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_03]: But I think Walla physically, athletically, he can win some of those battles especially the second level.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_03]: You want to get matched up on, you know, on those safety's on the nickel corner.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that, you know, having, you know, if you're two in your scene line, up against Ronnie Hickman, you're two in your scene line, up against Rachel Jenkins, you're two in your scene line, up against Dev and Bush, or our all-for-drone baker.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_03]: those are matchups you want to absolutely 100% exploit and I think the dolphins are to win this.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to have to try and keep a cap on things in terms of the run game they can't, you know they're up to 400 yards almost to the last two games they're going to have to try and keep juggins under 100 yards rushy.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think you know if Darren Wall leaves this game having caught eight, ten, twelve passes that won't be a bad thing for for these offences, you know, and
- 26:08[SPEAKER_03]: just as, you know, go back to those old NFL films videos of, um,
- 26:16[SPEAKER_03]: Hank Stram talking about matriculating the ball down the field.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's almost what Miami just needs to do is just gently move the ball down the field.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't have to be special.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't have to be explosive.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't have to be, but just use the weapons you have against the holes that they have in that defense.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_03]: Ball coming out quickly, don't in our mask, Eric, to tear off.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm interested to see the, you know, you want to see a couple of deep drops.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: So I really do want to see how, you know, Patrick Paul, who's developing into an operational or less tackling this thing.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_03]: You want to see how he's, you know, you want to see him against the best of the best.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but I think, you know, Darren will have to be an absolute key for the dolphins to in this game that we can.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_03]: Then like I said, if he's getting 10, 12 balls, that's not a bad thing.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, so I think we agree across the board.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think the fantasy players are reading into this.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: If you have general water and you have general water, downwallers, the start over jail and water, you would agree.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_03]: Um,
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: Would I agree that because let me give you a little background, Jane Waddle has become since Tariq Hill got injured, has become one of the best fantasy, wide receivers and football.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: Is this the, were you bench him and you play a Darren Wadler at tight end?
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: Or I thought you were talking about an action guy around that, so I was confused about it.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_03]: Look, I think he's also done up against a really, really recorder and Denzel Ward, you know, Ward's going to go where, where what will go, I think if you're a fantasy player,
- 27:43[SPEAKER_03]: Then Darren Waller would be the person I'd be choosing to be my fantasy time in, rather than wasting it on a guy who's going to have to play in the wind with a popcorn on court or back with the past rushes coming down the field that's not going to allow you to hit the, you know, the top of your drop and step up and rip it going against one of the best corners in the league.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_03]: That to me is not a situation that that seems to all go well for for success for Jalen model.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I tend to agree.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: Chris, you're on board with that one, right?
- 28:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm I actually have jail and a lot of fantasy and I will not be starting.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I got him to I got him to and I I benefited the last two weeks and I got down a wall or on my bench behind Travis Kelsey and I'm thinking of playing wall or this week and benching Taylor water this scene.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_04]: I have traffic rides.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_04]: So I have I don't have.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so you're you're golden.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're golden.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: Although you don't get many touchdowns.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: is that he's going to catch you 15 balls a game but he's not going to get in the end zone for whatever reason.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: This curse season is not without its entry Simon and I'm going to go to you first on this because this has been a mystery.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: This has been a mystery since day one.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Craig Aquaman revealed critically I might add oh yeah Jason Sanders he might not kick at all this season.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, what did he do?
- 29:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think we're going to be out for weeks.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: And what's he doing?
- 29:10[SPEAKER_03]: Is he like, I don't think I'm going to get out of something.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, last time we saw of Jason Sanders was before the Jaguar's preseason game.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: He was kicking a 60 yard for your goal.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: And he was doing his pregame warmup, where he kicks like two kicks from 60, two kicks from 55, two from 45, and he moves all the way in to 25,
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: The tunnel, right?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: He kicked two from 60.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: He kicked one from 45.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: I believe, and then that's one He was just walking around talking to Craig Ockerman and he went into the tunnel never to be heard from again And they haven't revealed what's his problem Nobody knows and then Craig Ockerman was asked.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, is this the week the taste of centers comes back and it goes.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: He might not come back at all forever, but he's dead possibly
- 30:02[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we joke.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like, obviously, I don't know how to hit your dream.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: There's been no information as to whether or not you had any sort of procedure, or whether or not it was like a, you know, a severe hip strain or, you know, what he actually did.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: And I've assumed it was some sort of maybe a tour of muscle, like really badly tour of muscle because obviously that kind of rotation of, you know, we don't even know, I don't think we know whether it's kicking leg or plant leg at this point, do we?
- 30:26[SPEAKER_03]: Or has that ever been established?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knows anything.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because it could be just that kind of, you know, driving the garlic into the ground.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_03]: or it could just be the kind of the endless rotational long field goals in practice and those sorts of things.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_03]: But I mean, the good thing is that at least in terms of his replacement, it hasn't been, he says now ahead of what's like to be a close game in the wind.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_03]: We have an inner problem with Riley Pattern who's done a pretty decent job.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: So, we have about the wins.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, brother.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's actually so who knows this could be the weekend where I come back and we come back on Monday It's like you said Ryan passes a ton of good job Yeah, I'm not for not for nothing nipping took game last last week against the chargers Rally Patterson did miss from 50 plus You know that's you that's usually word Jason Sanders shines
- 31:23[SPEAKER_04]: We'll know what it's going to do.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, what's on is 40 mile an hour wins.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's, that's just not a thing.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_04]: I think though that you're hitting on something from a special team standpoint, that for me is the true wildcard here.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_04]: Um, in this game and if the dolphins do lose, uh, you know, this game that I'm going to say special teams will play to large part of that somehow.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_04]: Um, that's that would be my guess.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_04]: I have not been happy with the way that the dolphins, uh, special teams have played.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_04]: I think that they, um, they played a big part in losing that charging chargers game.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_04]: I think that Craig Ockerman made a questionable decision not to kick a dirty ball on that last kick off with 46 seconds left.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_04]: He even said today, you know, we got the exact placement that we wanted for that kick, which I don't think is, I don't think shows that, you know, you're on top of the league in that regard.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_04]: because I think that there are teams out there that have actually figured out this new kickoff format and figured out what strategically is the best and they are performing the best and the rest of the league is just kind of like dipping their toe in the water and they're making poor decisions and I think unfortunately the dolphins are among them.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_04]: Now the real monkey wrench though is that if you take away
- 32:53[SPEAKER_04]: the field of game because who's kicking field goals in 40 mile an hour wins, I'm sorry, it's not going to happen.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_04]: Right?
- 32:58[SPEAKER_04]: Then why aren't you more right, unless the wind is like going to be a crosswind, I mean, it's just like crazy.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: So I think that, you know,
- 33:10[SPEAKER_04]: the real wildcard there becomes like what happens to the offences if ticking is not an option.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_04]: And now you're in fourth downs and who do you do you trust?
- 33:22[SPEAKER_04]: Dylan Gabriel on fourth downs or do you trust?
- 33:26[SPEAKER_04]: you know, to attend the Veloah on 4th Nails, you know, and I think that if the dolphin's defense, one of their big issues is that their past where I shouldn't have been able to get into it because they haven't run across enough past where situations, then suddenly putting them into a situation where they're going to have some, there might have some 4th Nails.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_04]: you know, which is a past rush situation.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and, you know, there isn't a big tall tree like Justin Herbert back there that you can't quite chop down.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's still a Gabriel.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_04]: He's tiny, right?
- 33:58[SPEAKER_04]: So, um, you know, I think that, uh, I think that could play into the dolphin's favor,
- 34:03[SPEAKER_04]: I can defensively, and I hesitate to say that because the Dolphins defense has been so terrible, but it does play into their favor, but also on the other flip side of that is, you know, coverage units, and whether the Dolphins return unit versus the coverage unit, whether that will be an advantage for the Dolphins during the game.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_04]: I just don't know.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_04]: One thing I will finish by saying is it is a damn shame that James and Sanders is not playing this year because with the changes to the kicking ball, he'd have kicked a 65 yarder by now.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_04]: Like, yeah.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_04]: Have you seen what these kickers are able to do?
- 34:43[SPEAKER_04]: Everything that you knew about the kicking game adds seven yards to it.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's what's
- 34:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, you have the Browns, is that what you said?
- 34:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so he's any missed twice this season, both in the first game since then he's been out so far.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: But again, you know, the ultimate leveling factor is just that weather, like who can be a good kicker in Gale Force Wins?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's ominous when you watch football games and you see that the long snapper and it's happening college, by the way.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: And college there was an actual fist fight over a cable.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: So it's I think it's ominous in the NFL when you see that the long snapper and everybody's running down there to get the ball and wrestle it away from the ball boys
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like obviously there's something going on and they got to change this rule.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you're aware, you're aware of the rule Simon of what they changed this year.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: Everything has 60 balls and they're essentially manicured.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: They wax them like come on man.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: They got to stop doing this.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: They have to be legal.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_04]: They try them.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_04]: They wax them.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_04]: They do everything.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_04]: They do everything that, you know, a picture used to do to the baseball back in the 70s.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which they made a legal yeah, you know, so all right, let's talk about two things On the way out here, and then we'll give our predictions for this game.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still on the side of by the way But which I'm going First of all, two is a apology What did you make of it?
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we've just spent too much time on this
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: Jill Phillips then went out and threw water on a grease fire which is all kinds of fun Supposedly Jack Jones got in on the act.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: I guess he backed up to as well who knows what's what's going on, but What did you make of his apology Simon use contract presidential?
- 36:34[SPEAKER_03]: I guess Don't care damage on the dark dealt with in house.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure there was some pretty you know some pretty pissed off players and I'm sure there was a you know I just don't need
- 36:47[SPEAKER_03]: Just the overall look, the optics generally just aren't great, and this sort of shit doesn't happen if you're Five and one or whatever, this doesn't happen with green bay or with Detroit or with Kansas City or tonight So winning changes all of this of course And then if we're winning he wouldn't have been at the podium comparing our players not turning up to me in anyway, so yeah
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they wouldn't like him.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: He would've been beaming from air to air, you know.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're here.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it is.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you want to add anything to this Chris.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: I had plenty to say.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think he said what he needed to say.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_04]: It was, it was contrite, you know, I didn't feel like some people felt like he minced words because he mentioned something about, you know, the,
- 37:23[SPEAKER_04]: being misconstrued by the media or whatever.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_04]: But I thought that he stepped up and said all the right things.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't just say sorry.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_04]: He said why exactly why he should be sorry about it, you know, which is a true apology in my opinion.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, he did what he needed to do.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_04]: But as you mentioned, it is a grease fire because, you know, the more you toss water on the grease fire, the worse it gets.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_04]: And there is that quality going on where it went from two as saying the original thing to McDonald being like, you know, balls in your court, guys, that's you all's problem.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_04]: That's not my problem, which I felt it was a problem.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_04]: And then the media raised a
- 38:11[SPEAKER_04]: I just heard about it when you asked me before about it, two of said the wrong thing, two of it should not have done that.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_04]: But also, McDaniel made it worse even again by talking about how worthless essentially those player-led meetings are, which I think spits in the face of the players that are having them, right?
- 38:30[SPEAKER_04]: Because there's a reason they're having them.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_04]: And then it also causes you to question why they feel they need to have them.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_04]: And then it goes to Tua, who is apologizing, saying all the right things, but then he's asked, a very halibi, God bless him.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_04]: Just a very simple, I think, softball question, what are you guys getting out of these player led meetings?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_04]: What do they like?
- 38:54[SPEAKER_04]: How do they go?
- 38:55[SPEAKER_04]: And Tua steals up and says, protect the team, you know?
- 39:01[SPEAKER_04]: That was his answer.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_04]: And so that made it worse.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_04]: That to me, oh, well, what is going on?
- 39:09[SPEAKER_04]: So these player-led meetings have something to do with internal that you don't want to put out there now.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and Nolan has to tell to give him a simple phrase like, you know, and it has to do with the team, you know, I like to keep it inside the team, you know, well, that's, but that's, but that's what he did, but that itself was, that itself was revealing and then of course, here comes Jalen Phillips to, you know, just come a cause the end on the situation and say, well, too, it was actually right to call those those people out.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_04]: And then, you know, I didn't hear what Jack Kahn said, but if he said something similar, this is a grace fire.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_04]: This is the more attention it gets somehow, the more you answer to the first thing that came wrong, the worse it seems to get.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_04]: And that's the way it goes with a one and five team, I guess.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when the ship is thinking, don't start fires.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_03]: Let me see this Pablo Torres story, by the way.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_03]: Michael Lombardi took a fundraising trip to Saudi Arabia two weeks before the... Oh, wow!
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's just for the... It's a bang a college football program.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty cool.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_03]: He left the school to go and raise money in Saudi to... Maybe he's just trying to get money to pay off bills.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_04]: He's just trying to get some new...
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the that's a lesson to be learned here, okay?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: No matter how bad your dumpster fire is, there's always one course somewhere What's the one worse that you could point to all right last thing?
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: All kinds of trade rumors everywhere this what happens look, okay?
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: When you're a dumpster fire everybody points at the dumpster fire and says all right, who are their best players?
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let's let's write about it and now everybody's writing the the quintessential if he becomes available
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, if Patrick Mahomes became available, the entire league would line up.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, except maybe three teams, two teams, maybe But what do you make of this?
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that there's I think Chubbers as good as gone and I think the jail of Phillips thing is That's the one that's most likely that I think that's the most notable player that's probably on the way out because I don't know of their pain I'm and I don't know if we have the GM that could correctly Gages value
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: or is diminished value I should say going forward and try to take advantage of it because a good general manager
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: would try to massage this into his favor.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I do fear that Jalen Phillips is going to end up somewhere else.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: And somebody else is going to get his best seasons as a pro.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: Your thoughts on all of this, Simon.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's four players.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_03]: HN Phillips, Chab and Wodel.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: Take them one by one.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_03]: HN is rumours.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_03]: Tony Pauline says, There's rumours of Treet Will and HN
- 42:14[SPEAKER_03]: what it is back to playing really good football.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_03]: The question about Hannies and I get there would be, you know, fighting all the streets of Miami is that he's going to want to get paid pretty soon and he is not a one street party, that would be unfair.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_03]: But he is relatively injury-pone, very undersized and you wonder about paying him the 20 million a year that he wants to get.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_03]: vis-à-vis his size and longevity profile.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_03]: Model is paid like a top in receiver and isn't.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't have great hands, a comparative to receivers in the NFL, but he is obviously a good player and an exposure player.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: He's also had an injury history.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: I think if the deal was good enough for Jalen Model, I think you would certainly look to trade him.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if the deal would be good enough and realistically, he was the deal
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: Second of the third, I felt, would you get with so many deal of burst for him?
- 43:11[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it's unlikely.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: Chob seems like the biggest favorite to go because the age profile, the fact that you could plug him into a team that's going into the playoffs and probably pick up rotational sacs really, especially in the playoffs.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_03]: And the fact that he's not owed any actual money.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_03]: So you really, it's just a half season thing into the tool and tips of that.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_03]: It's the most interesting, I think, is Phillips in that.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_03]: uh he's obviously coming to the end of his contract will be a free agent uh you'd love to keep him around the consistency's already a player but he clearly doesn't have the explosion that he once had will that come back remains we see he's obviously had two very very serious injuries the two worse you could have for a player with his skillset um
- 44:02[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think all four would go.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think Trump seems the most likely.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_03]: It has to stack them, I'd say, Chub, Waddle, Phillips, A-Cham.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: But I'd say Chris, the most, I'd be shocked if Randy Chub's here after November the fourth.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_03]: The other three, I could see them going, but would have to be in a scenario where my own ingredient would have went out the trades.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's unlikely, because also, if you get rid of Chub and Phillips, you're as soon as you just say that, you know,
- 44:31[SPEAKER_03]: top Robinson and Matthew Jude on the Australian edges for the rest of the season and that's not the situation that you particularly want to be in, especially given that Jude on is like 42 and Robin is disappeared.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, I think dealing both of them is unlikely and I think there's loads of, you know, loads of smoke at this time of the year.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think one of the four will go and I think you'll be chart Chris.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think that you covered the pros and cons like really well and actually a fully agree with each one of them that you went down.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_04]: Um, with a channel, you know, from a channel on down.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that, um, a channel, yes, you have, you have to think about what position the dolphins are in right now.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I think that a good exercise.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_04]: And I've, I've challenged, you know, others and alpha yourself included on this is like, if you were to get into the 26 off season.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_04]: and you're completely rebuilding right you don't even know who your next quarterback is You don't even have the ability to get this quarterback out the door yet let alone starting on your next one You know that you have Egypt level building to do on the the lines
- 45:39[SPEAKER_04]: You know that you have a financial mess, right?
- 45:43[SPEAKER_04]: An absolute financial mess to deal with and clear and before you can get back to some kind of neutral and that you're probably not going to compete for a little bit, right?
- 45:55[SPEAKER_04]: Would you trade, you know, just hypothetically, somebody calls you up and says, hey, I've got this, the super fast, very flashing, running back 24-year-old running back to Von HM.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_04]: He's yours for a second round pit.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_04]: If you were in that situation, would you go ahead and do that?
- 46:11[SPEAKER_04]: Would you trade the second round pick for HM?
- 46:14[SPEAKER_04]: Because if you wouldn't, then why would you say no to the second round pick for HM?
- 46:22[SPEAKER_04]: You have to think of it in those terms.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_04]: But all of that said,
- 46:28[SPEAKER_04]: The only guy who might get traded to me is Bradley Chub.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think ultimately anybody else is getting traded.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_04]: And the ultimate reason, and I have been led to believe this from sources as well, is the dolphins are in a little bit of paralysis because they don't know who's going to be in charge next.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_04]: and they can't make big decisions like this on behalf of who's going to be in charge next.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_04]: And so I think that ultimately no, the answer is going to be no.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_04]: Even though the wobble, I'm told the wobble consideration is serious, it's not, those conversations are serious, that doesn't mean it's going to happen.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_04]: Ultimately, I don't believe it's going to happen.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_04]: I don't believe any of the big ones are going to happen.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_04]: Even Jalen Phillips and keep in mind also the jailed Phillips thing is, you know, I know people don't want to talk back to Pennsylvania more, but if he goes off and free agency, that is a consideration that he could earn you a third round pick if you, you know, depending on what you do, signing free agents.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that the dolphins are probably going to have to take a break for a little bit.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_04]: from, you know, being all about the free agent.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, that's a consideration there.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_04]: None of those are going to be because the dolphins are paralyzed over this GM situation.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_04]: None of those guys are going to be traded.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_04]: The one thing I'll say about trading Chub is it's not just that he doesn't have much salary left.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_04]: So he's just a true kind of rental for the for some other team.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_04]: But also, Miami might want to get them out the door so that they don't have to be holding the bag when his incentives are due.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_04]: because he remember he restructured and built in some incentives into his contract that can trigger based on certain production values.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_04]: And if he hits those production values and starting all year for the dolphins, if he hits those production values for the dolphins, then they're gonna have to pay him those incentives at year end.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, I got something on that.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_04]: And then I think that the other team, if you were to trade him,
- 48:33[SPEAKER_04]: Whoever's holding the contract at the time of the payment is due is essentially the one holding the bag.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_04]: So if the dolphins were to trade him, they would get out of doing that.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that we'll have to trade on before he meets one of these, if and this is the most dolphin thing ever.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_04]: If someone when the payment is due, if the payment is not due until the end of the year, then I think the incentive is nothing more than just like triggering a guarantee.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_04]: And a future guarantee is only for your books if you literally give the cash.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_04]: But it's not if he achieves it here because he is two sacks away from 1.5 million does he does does the does the payment occur al when he achieves does it does it does it literally or let's say he achieves the the trigger on October.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_04]: Does the payment literally happen on that day?
- 49:28[SPEAKER_04]: If it doesn't, I don't know.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: But the most often thing ever is for Bradley Chubba get two sex against the Browns.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_01]: And now you own $1.5 million.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_04]: But I don't, I don't think that that's true.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_04]: I think that that's, uh, I think it's only, it's only on your books once, it's only guaranteed to be on your books.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_04]: If you literally put the cash in the other players account,
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_04]: If somebody else takes over the contract, then they take over a set of liabilities.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_04]: which includes money owed, money owed, that hasn't been transferred yet.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_04]: So if the other team and incentive can be, and you know, yeah, there's league rules, it would take some clarification for me to be certain about this.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_04]: But I do know that the way these contracts work, generally speaking, is just because money is owed, if it hasn't been paid yet, then the team who owns the contract at the time of payment do, they're the ones that have to put it on their books.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, as far as these trades, I've made my feelings know, known, yeah, Chub for anything, whatever you can get, because I think trading Chub is more important than even getting any return whatsoever, because I think it means Chub Robinson gets all those snaps, and I think that's a plus.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's a benefit.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: Not that I'll make the team better, but it'll help you evaluate and build for the future.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: You get to see Chub Robinson play 40, 50 snaps a game for the rest of the season, which is what he should have been doing from the beginning.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, on HN, I've been my, my feelings known on water, I'm a much softer softer know.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: And on jailing clubs, my fear is what I said is, you need a good general manager to be able to massage the situation to have a plan going forward for what you can do with jailing clubs.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, not to, you know, glaze how we rosemen, but you get to feeling that somebody like how we rosemen would sign jailing clubs all of a sudden.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: to a four year 60 million dollar deal, you know what I mean?
- 51:31[SPEAKER_01]: And you'd be like, holy shit, you know what?
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's not terrible, you know?
- 51:34[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you get the huge upside of Jalen Phillips, but it's 15 million a year which puts them like, you know, what?
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: 20 second or 23rd, you know, in payment, APY for edge players, that's not terrible.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: Do you really think that our general manager and now for an office situation, it's gonna be good enough to massage that?
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: So if I'm gonna make a prediction, yeah,
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: And now we're trying for literally anything.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, I've, I've, I've, I've hold an auction.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: But the one really you're going to give me a seventh run pick.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: And the best you can do if the trouble is sitting down that.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_04]: Does, does, jail and Philips want to be here anymore?
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he was asked, he was asked and he says, yes, I want to be here.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be here.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_04]: He's making it known, you know, a lot of jail and Ramsay, that he has no interest in being here anymore.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_04]: He's sick of this, you know, and he wants out.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_04]: Then even if you have the paralysis of your decision making structure, you might do that anyway, because, you know, they're then at that point, at that point, there's nothing to lose.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Two considerations here.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's young, he has a young family as a wife, he has a child.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: He said he wants to be here.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: He just bought a house here.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's wife, his wife should say, yeah, or his wife, I'm not saying that his wife should say.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: I should say his wife might say, you don't all these people anything.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: No hometown discounts.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: If you could get 22 million a year somewhere else, we're going somewhere else for 22 million a year.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_03]: It was a sucker, Simon.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's reagents.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_03]: That's a risk.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I just don't think any was paying that.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I had that.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: So my final prediction is both are gone.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think Chub and Phillips are traded.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think they'll get a decent amount of results.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_03]: The thing about Phillips.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_03]: The one thing about Phillips is if he I feel and tries to engineer a move is that I don't think this dolphins team.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_03]: If we're going to be realistic, it's going to be winning playoff competitive until 2020.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_03]: 9, we don't even have the court back, do you know what I mean?
- 53:44[SPEAKER_03]: And it's very rare that a court back come, you know, unless you end up with the first pick in the draft in 2027, and let's just say for our viewer to say that Julian's saying is the guy, and he has an amazing year next year with his hives when just looks like unbelievable, like Andrew Luck kind of thing.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_03]: realistically, the 2020, was that, 2027, 28 season, it'd be rookie.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_03]: So, 28, 29 or 29, 30 realistically, I don't think that you're, so there's Janet Phillips at age 26 with the injuries that he's had.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_03]: Is he sitting there thinking, shh, yeah, fine, I'm gonna wait four years time winning, like, you know, I'll take a lot less money to get me out of here
- 54:29[SPEAKER_03]: You know, maybe a deal could be engineered where he, you know, you get a return on investment and he gets less money with the 49ers and, you know, we get a full frown pick or whatever it is in return, but I just can't see both of them getting moved because it just doesn't, you know, there are.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, it opens a door to drive room and bathroom, for example.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_03]: And God knows, we're not going to have anybody rush in the past.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_03]: I know if it's, you know, which literally just left a camp good.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_03]: Matthew Jude on in Chuck Robinson.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so Grace and Murphy has our backs, Simon.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, great.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_03]: Brilliant.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'll captain concrete legs.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_03]: The grace and Murphy goes to Grace and Murphy.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I just constantly.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_03]: They didn't bring them back.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_03]: They did.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_01]: Is he in the practice card?
- 55:15[SPEAKER_03]: No, he left me.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, he left.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_03]: I'm pretty sure he left.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, we've gone a long enough money.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_03]: We've gone there before.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_03]: We got out there.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've gone long enough on this.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: So let's give the predictions Chris, uh, you gave a spoiler already to everybody else.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, might as well give the number.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: Star.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_04]: Star.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_04]: Dolphins going to Dolphins win.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to say something like 20 to 10.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'll go next.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, their streak of three touchdowns per game is going to be broken.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see how they're this is going to be a game where they're going to put up three touchdowns in the game if they score two touchdowns I think they win I think they scored two touchdowns and a field goal But it's not going to be easy 17 13 Miami
- 55:58[SPEAKER_03]: Grays of Murphy is a street free agent.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody picked him up after the cuts.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_03]: Shut.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think they could afford to get him on a plane because the concrete would not allow the planes to take off.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_03]: I am going Cleveland, 15, Miami, 13, oh my god.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_03]: Just to be, I do think my room is, I think.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_03]: But there's just enough doubt in my head.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_03]: I just, that, that, that green bag game just gave me food for thought.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's a, it's a rough one.
