- 0:23SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to Not Gonna Hold Back with another edition of Crazy Stories hosted by Andrew and Peggy Schustick.
- 0:35SPEAKER_03: Today we're gonna talk about going through a drive-thru back during pandemic.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: Where the wind was a little too fast.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: The pandemic was over, but the wind kicked off.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: So one day we were at our favorite place that we love.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: Shout out to Dutch Bros.
- 0:56SPEAKER_03: Dutch Brothers, and we're in this long line on Rainbow and Decatur, if you live in Las Vegas specifically.
- 1:03SPEAKER_03: And we were in line.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: The window We're on our way to school that morning, right?
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: You were in high school.
- 1:09SPEAKER_03: Yes, we were on the way to high school that morning.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: Oh, did he get an education?
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: We're sitting in the dry sphere.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: I had played just I think I was getting ready to place the order, and I looked over at him to ask if he'd wanted something.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: And my my face must have been very surprised at what I saw.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Right outside his window.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Wasn't it on your side?
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: No, it was on your side because the street was that way.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: No, it was the parking lot where she was talking to the guy uh in the car.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Right, but to the right of us, to the right of the car, because the window's on this side.
- 1:52SPEAKER_03: Okay, continue.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: So it was a girl there, and she chose a skirt to wear that day to wherever she was going.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: And I don't know that that was a great choice because as I turned to look at him to ask if he wanted something, my face must have gone sideways real quick to what I was seeing.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And he turned and looked, and he looked at me, and I think he was probably in tenth grade, 11th grade, maybe.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: And the look on his face, he got an anatomy lesson right there.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Cause this little this wind came and it picked up that melt girl's skirt, and the bottom of her skirt was up around her shoulders, and we saw everything.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And when I say everything, we mean everything.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Everything, nothing was left to the imagination at that point.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was pretty entertaining.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Drive-throughs are crazy.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Remember the McDonald's drive thing?
- 2:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: We were one night.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: We were people share share your stories about drive-throughs and and the craziness that you get to experience.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: We were at an ice cream shop one night.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: It was probably early evening.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: It wasn't late.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: It was like daylight.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: It was during summertime.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: And we were walking in, they have custard, and we'd become big custard fans.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: So we walked, I think we pulled up and we heard some yelling.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: I can't remember exactly.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: There were some McDonald's across the parking lot.
- 3:25SPEAKER_03: We got out of the car and we heard immediately yelling.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: So we jumped back in the car.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: We were not sure what was going on, and we may have made had to flee at that moment and make a quick getaway.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: So we instead of going into the ice cream shop, we custard shop, we jumped back in the car.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: For a minute.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: And then we kind of looked around and got our bearings straight, and we saw that there was an altercation happening at the McDonald's structure window.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: And we're not, I mean, obviously we don't know what transpired prior to seeing that, but a little girl, the worker, was trying to hand the bag to the guy in the car.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: And he was not he was not taking it.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: I don't know what what the deal was.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: And then he took the food, he came around, and he threw it down and got out of his car.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: And parked his car and went into the ran inside.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Or into yeah, into the into the McDonald's, and we were like, okay, we gotta get our ice creams or custards and get the heck out of here because we don't know what's about to happen.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: But that was rather interesting.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: I will also say another parking lot incident that was kind of funny.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: One day we had to leave school because there was a power outage.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: We had to take our car to Lexus dealership.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: So we went to the Waffle House.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: Hatch House of Go-Go.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: Oh, Hash House of Go-Go.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: And we ate our breakfast, and then we ended up going home.
- 5:03SPEAKER_03: We ended up going out to the drive the walk to our car into the parking lot.
- 5:09SPEAKER_03: And Peggy ran right into hard rocked abs.
- 5:13SPEAKER_03: Shout out to Dan Reynolds.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: I wasn't I wasn't even looking.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: I was searching for my keys and I ran into a person and I It was Dan Reynolds, everyone.
- 5:24SPEAKER_03: I didn't even I didn't even look from Imagine Dragons.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: I didn't even look up and I literally, when I say ran into him, smack dab into him.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: And of course I apologized, but I didn't look up when I apologized and I said, Oh, I'm sorry.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And this person said, No worries, it's fine.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: And the voice just instantly, I was like, What?
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: So I looked up and it was him.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And we had just got back from Seattle from seeing the Imagine Dragons in concert because they didn't put a Vegas date on their show.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: So we started to walk away, and Andrew's eyes were like the sizes of like saucers.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And I kind of looked at I wasn't even looking up either.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: I was looking at my phone.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: And I kind of looked at Andrew and he shook his head no, and I shook my head yes, and I turned around and went back.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: And I had to have a moment with him, and he was so sweet.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: He, I mean, he was kind.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: We stood there and talked for a couple minutes right outside, and he was getting ready to go in and eat.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Because they did a concert from GM that night before.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: And we took photos with him.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: We told him that we had just got back from Seattle.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: And then right after we got back from Seattle, they announced a Vegas show.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And he said, Oh, I'm sorry.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: And I said, Oh, gosh, don't apologize.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: We get to see you again.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: So we bought tickets to that show.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: He was so kind though.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: He was.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Now that's a little different, but remember uh when we were visiting, I want to say the the Wendy's.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was the Wendy's out on uh Chester Boulevard in Indiana when we went there for a visit and it was like late at night, and we shouldn't have been there because we have no business eating that late, but who cares?
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: We were hungry.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: It was like 11 o'clock or something.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: And we were sitting in the drive-thru and it was dark and it was late, and I heard this big clonk.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: And I looked out the rearview mirror, and there was a raccoon climbing out of our foot people, full-blown raccoon.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: It could have like walked over and opened my car door.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: It was massive climbing out of the dumpster, and it was like not walking toward us, but walking in our direction of the car.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: I rode up the windows and locked the doors as if that was gonna make a difference.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: But a racket.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: We have a lot of animal stories, a lot of happenings with animals.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: What else happened in our parking lot?
- 7:57SPEAKER_03: There were there's a lot of stories that we got.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Parking, yeah, parking lots are just crazy.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: What I don't get though is all these people, and not doubting you people, but all the people who like post on social media sitting in their car, a lot of females, and I feel bad if this is the case, but I mean, sometimes you just think, for real, I mean, people are constantly I come across these things of people saying, Oh my god, the scariest thing just happened to me at Target.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I was sitting in my parking lot or in my car in the parking lot, and I thought I was gonna be human trafficked.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: People literally they know me at Target by name.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I go there almost daily for whatever reason, all times of the day, never one time.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, not that I'm looking for it, but I've never felt threatened in a Target parking lot.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: Although I do recall one time it was Christmas, and it was when we were in karate and that Target across the street from the karate studio, I was out Christmas shopping and I was walking to the car and it was rather late, and I was putting my stuff in the car, and I could feel someone's breath on my neck, and then I was super mad because I froze and I thought, uh, in that instant, if someone was like, if that had been someone like going to kidnap me, they 100% would have got me.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: I froze, and then I was really pissed at myself and I started taking crab macau, remember?
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: And we started taking those fight classes.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: No, I invite someone to approach me.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Listen, I decided in that instant, if you were close enough to me that I can feel your breath on my neck, that is my space.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: You should really move away.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Um, but fortunate enough for me in that situation, it was just a gentleman trying to get into his car and I had my door open so he couldn't get around.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: But hey, I could have been taken one day.
- 10:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: That was that was scary.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: But all the accidents.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: You ever get hit in the parking lot?
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: No, I've never got hit.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Ever run over anyone's foot in the parking lot?
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Well, I've always been a Target fan.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: And in Indiana, even we used to have an a Target out there, and I had just got my driver's license.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I can't even believe I'm gonna tell the story, but it was many years ago.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: And uh I was backing out.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: I I insisted that my mom let me go to the I shouldn't even be telling you this, but you never did it.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: I insisted that my mom let me drive her car to the Target out there on the on the main street.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And I went out and I went in and I was just yay, I'm driving by myself for the first time.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: I went to back up and I hit the side of someone's car.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Talk about freaking out.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: I did not know what to do.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, I was 16, so I drove in.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: 16 people, please forgive me for this.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: I pulled back into the spot and I looked around.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: It didn't really do too much damage to his park.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, it might have left a little scratch.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: I was petrified.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: I backed that thing out.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: I went home.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: I was so nervous.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: I crawled in bed and went to sleep.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: And when I woke up, there were policemen outside, outside my house.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: I knew I was busted, but I gotta tell you something.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: My mom was going to jail.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: I would not have admitted it.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: My mom, she would have thrived in jail, not me.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not not built for it, man.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, unless there's a nice wine list in jail, I'm not built for it.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Um, so I remember like peeking out the window and thinking, God, this is what it's come to.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: I'm sending my mom to jail for flinging, hitting a car, and leaving.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: And uh I just kept watching and watching.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: And luckily for me, that was not why they were there.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Something happened down the street and they were talking to my mom because they were wondering if she'd seen anybody go through, but they left and then I was like, I'm never driving again.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: And you know, I don't think I ever did drive my mom's car again.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: I didn't want to be caught in it just in case.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: I I walked everywhere until I got my own car.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: I wasn't getting back in that far.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Uh-uh.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: Nope, nope, nope.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: But also for me, people, that is during a time where there were no cell phones and nobody recorded anything.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: You know, that's the thing with y'all today.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: You record everything, some things just shouldn't be recorded.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, listen, I'm not saying that if you see somebody hit somebody's car, it shouldn't be recorded because that would be useful, but thank God no one did it for me.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Um, but uh that's don't you think that's a problem?
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, everybody's so interested in recording what's going on and what's happening.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Nobody wants to step in and help.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: And most of the time, those recordings aren't used for good, they're they're used in a bad, you know?
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: That's unfortunate.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: That's very unfortunate.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Did you ever hit a car and take off and didn't tell me about it?
- 13:23SPEAKER_03: No.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Did you ever hit a dumpster and take off and tell me about it?
- 13:27SPEAKER_03: I told you about the dumpster.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: When Andrew first got his driver's license, he was leaving a friend's house.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Friend's house, and he backed into a big blue dumpster.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: It was green.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Wasn't there, he said when he went in.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know what.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: But anyway, that was uh I took out my back at taillight.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: Your your your trunk was all crooked and it had a big thing in it, it wouldn't even shut.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And he thought I wasn't gonna notice it.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: And I said, What happened?
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: And he goes, What do you mean?
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: I mean the trunk shut when you left the house.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: That's the only thing you've ever been in.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: That's pretty good.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Uh no, I was in that one car accident, but I was not driving.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, Annabelle.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Lovely little Annabelle.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: And I had just left the country.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: I was on the airplane.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: I think we had just like made a connection through New York or something.
- 14:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: And not 20 minutes into the flight, I get a text message from was it Annabelle or her mom?
- 14:31SPEAKER_03: I think it was from her mom.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Her mom, because she called her mom and said she got in an accident.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: And I'm thinking, oh my God, I am headed to Greece.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not landing for like 11 hours.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: That was excruciating.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: I was fine.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Yes, you were fine.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: She was fine too, thank goodness.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: It was just the car and she was so worried about it.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: But who cares about the car?
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, she said she had a little bit of a head injury, so they had to take we took her to quit care, but they asked me if I was fine at her.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: I was fine.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: I got in a car accident once.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Me and my sister snuck out.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: My mom told us we couldn't go somewhere, and we went and met her boyfriend at the time, Debbie.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: And uh he ran a red light taking me to work.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: You know, I brought in Indiana, there's that A Street.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: I know we I don't know if I pointed it out to you, but we've been down it many, many times there visiting.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I got in three accidents in three different spots on that particular street.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Never driving, but always cracked my right collarbone three times.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: It's that bizarre.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: Since we were going into shoulders and collarbones, um shout out to you, Brie Bella.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Hope you heal soon.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, we watched SummerSlam yesterday.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: We watched SummerSlam.
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: No, the day two days.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: Saturday and Sunday.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Saturday and Sunday.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: Saturday was great until Brie Bella got a little bit of injury.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: We hope she recovers quickly.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Yes, we do, because they need to go for Nikki and Brie need to go for that gold again before their contract's up this time.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Andrew is a huge Bella fan.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: And they might just appear on this show.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't that be great?
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: Nikki Brie, if you hear us, come on, reach out.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: Intoxicated and all.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: You broke your collarbone once when you were four.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because somebody told me a ghost asked if they wanted to go to dinner, and this one and Peggy went and hid behind rocks, and I got nervous, so I chased her behind the rock, and there was a big rock, and I fell down on the cement.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: And however, remember you were a big Mary Poppins fan.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Yes, she signed that sling, and I still have it to this day.
- 16:51SPEAKER_03: Oh, and I still have the I still have the jacket when I was playing Bert.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: A little, yeah, a little four-year-old sling with Mary Poppins' signature on it.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: And Burt's from Disneyland, that Mary Poppins.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Remember when we found out that Mary Poppins dated Craig Burst's nephew, our friend?
- 17:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: That was Guys, the world is small.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: I don't care what anybody says.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: We used to go to Disneyland quite a bit before Andrew entered school age.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: And we used to always see this Mary Poppins at Disneyland, and she knew Andrew by name, and he just thought it was the greatest thing ever.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Then we started talking to her one time.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, we started talking to our friend Craig.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: And he said that his nephew or cousin dated a girl that played Mary Poppins at uh Disney.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: And we were like, oh, that's so funny.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: And so he gave us the guy's name.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: And the next time we went, dad said her name the guy's name to him, and her face just went, What?
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: And we were telling her that his uncle was our one of our attorneys, and that's pretty funny.
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: And she's uh I I Mary Poppins is really good.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: She was able to play off play it off and act like she didn't know who the hecky the heckheck we were talking about.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: She's uh in her British accent, she said, huh?
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: I'm Mary Poppins.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: I date Bert.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Does she date Bert?
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Does Mary Poppins and Bert date, or are they just friends?
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: I think they're just friends.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: I think Bert likes Mary more than Mary likes Bert.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Mary.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Mary is no nonsense kind of girl.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: She just doesn't tolerate it.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Unlike my sister Mary.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: She's not a no sense.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: No nonsense.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: On that note, we should probably end it.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 18:47SPEAKER_03: Anyways, thanks for tuning in, real uh loyal ones to Not Gonna Hold Back.
