- 0:00Speaker 1: So what's it been like putting this whole thing together
- 0:02Speaker 1: with essentially three guys on the roster that will play
- 0:05Speaker 1: this year that played last year?
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah, so, you know, I think when you look at
- 0:11Speaker 2: past years, I think, you know, 23 it was, you know,
- 0:16Speaker 2: we had a big three that we returned and Jordan Hawkins, Sunogo,
- 0:21Speaker 2: and Hawkins, Andre Jackson. So, you know, I think pretty
- 0:27Speaker 2: much every year is going to be a core of
- 0:30Speaker 2: three or four players that are returning that will start
- 0:34Speaker 2: slash be in your top seven, top eight, top nine,
- 0:37Speaker 2: however many players are in your rotation. Then you're going
- 0:40Speaker 2: to have a blend of some freshmen, and then you're
- 0:41Speaker 2: going to have a blend of a couple of transfers.
- 0:44Speaker 2: So I think we're in the same spot. Obviously, when
- 0:47Speaker 2: we were dealing with the solo ball injury at the time,
- 0:52Speaker 2: we weren't aware that the five-and-five year, five-and-five, was actually
- 0:59Speaker 2: going to be passed. So when we talked to Solo
- 1:03Speaker 2: about redshirting the year, that was under the understanding that
- 1:08Speaker 2: we were playing by the old rules. So that's something
- 1:11Speaker 2: we'll have to revisit with him at some point as
- 1:13Speaker 2: he gets healthier and gets cleared to start doing basketball activities.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But Jaden Ross, we expect to be a starter or
- 1:21Speaker 2: at least compete for it. And then the two other
- 1:23Speaker 2: guys are our backcourt, which we hope is the best
- 1:25Speaker 2: in the country. Yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 1: And Silas has a lot on his shoulders as far
- 1:29Speaker 1: as the leadership goes. What do you see from his
- 1:32Speaker 1: leadership standpoint? What do you see in his style from
- 1:34Speaker 1: some of the other guys that you've had?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Silas is a lot like Tristan. He's a two-way player.
- 1:39Speaker 2: He's got really good size at the position. He gets
- 1:42Speaker 2: on the backboard. He's at his best when he's like
- 1:44Speaker 2: a triple-double threat. And he was really a top-ten player
- 1:50Speaker 2: in the country last year efficiency-wise overall. He ended the
- 1:55Speaker 2: season as a top 20 type of guy. But he
- 1:58Speaker 2: struggled physically down the March Madness because of the high ankle,
- 2:02Speaker 2: which kind of wasn't really true of just how well
- 2:08Speaker 2: he played it. I think a lot of times last
- 2:10Speaker 2: year he was our best player.
- 2:11Speaker 1: We'll see you in a couple weeks. Thank you for
- 2:14Speaker 1: a few minutes.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Here we go, Bob. Here we go. We're in it now.
