- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. Last time, we saw
- 0:09how Joseph's brothers let jealousy get the best
- 0:12of them. They sold Joseph to traders, and he
- 0:16was taken far from home, all the way to Egypt.
- 0:20It was a very hard and scary time for Joseph,
- 0:24but God had not forgotten him. Today, We'll follow
- 0:29Joseph as he begins a new chapter in this strange
- 0:33land. He doesn't know what will happen, but God
- 0:37is quietly working, even in the middle of his
- 0:41troubles. Are you ready? Let's begin. Joseph
- 0:58was brought to Egypt and sold to a man named
- 1:01Potiphar, an important official who worked for
- 1:05Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Joseph had to work
- 1:09as a servant in Potiphar's house, far from his
- 1:13father and everything he knew. Even though life
- 1:18had changed so much, Joseph continued to work
- 1:21hard and honor God and responsible. Potiphar
- 1:30noticed that everything Joseph did seemed to
- 1:33go well. He could see that God was with Joseph.
- 1:38Soon, Potiphar trusted Joseph with more and more
- 1:42responsibilities. Joseph was put in charge of
- 1:46the whole household, taking care of food, supplies,
- 1:50and helping the other servants stay organized.
- 1:55But then, something very unfair happened. Someone
- 1:59in Potiphar's house told a lie about Joseph.
- 2:03Even though he had done nothing wrong, Joseph
- 2:07was thrown into prison. While prison is a dark
- 2:16and lonely place, Joseph didn't give up. He kept
- 2:20trusting God, even in that hard situation. And
- 2:25once again, people noticed something different
- 2:28about him. The prison keeper saw that Joseph
- 2:32was helpful, wise, and trustworthy. Before long,
- 2:37Joseph was helping to care for the other prisoners
- 2:41and was given special responsibilities. Even
- 2:44in prison, Joseph stayed faithful, and God stayed
- 2:48close to Joseph. One day, two new prisoners arrived.
- 2:55They had once worked for Pharaoh, but something
- 2:58had gone wrong, and now they were in trouble.
- 3:02One had been a cupbearer, who served drinks to
- 3:05the king, and the other was the king's chief
- 3:08baker. One night, both of these men had strange
- 3:13dreams. The next morning, they looked worried
- 3:17and confused. Joseph noticed, and gently asked
- 3:22why they seemed upset. When they explained their
- 3:25dreams, Joseph listened carefully. He told them
- 3:30that only God could help people understand dreams,
- 3:33but he would pray and share what God helped him
- 3:37understand. Joseph explained what their dreams
- 3:41meant. He told the cupbearer that he would soon
- 3:45be forgiven and return to Pharaoh's palace. But
- 3:49the baker's dream meant he would not return to
- 3:52his old job. Everything happened just as Joseph
- 3:56had said. Before the cupbearer left prison, Joseph
- 4:01kindly asked him to remember him and speak to
- 4:05Pharaoh about his situation. But once the cupbearer
- 4:08returned to the palace, he forgot all about Joseph
- 4:12for a while. Still, Joseph waited patiently and
- 4:17continued to trust God. Even though life wasn't
- 4:21fair, god had not forgotten him something big
- 4:25was about to happen something only god could
- 4:29plan let's take a moment to think together have
- 4:38you ever been blamed for something you didn't
- 4:41do how do you think joseph felt in prison after
- 4:47doing the right thing What do you think helped
- 4:52him stay hopeful? Sometimes we face unfair situations
- 4:58and it's easy to feel forgotten or discouraged.
- 5:02But like Joseph, we can keep trusting God. Even
- 5:07when we don't understand what's happening, God
- 5:10is always with us and he is working for our good.
- 5:16Thanks for listening today. Next time. We'll
- 5:20find out what happens when Pharaoh himself has
- 5:23a troubling dream. Will the cupbearer finally
- 5:26remember Joseph? And how will God use Joseph's
- 5:30gifts to help a whole nation? Don't miss it.
- 5:35And always remember, you are wonderfully made,
- 5:39and God is always with you. Bye for now.
