- 0:00Hey Brian.
- 0:01Hey Glennis, where are ya today?
- 0:04Before I tell you that, happy Pride.
- 0:07Happy Pride.
- 0:08Happy Pride Month, gays.
- 0:10Hey gay.
- 0:12Hi we have to talk about the Maine Senate primary because that primary is getting steamy, if you will.
- 0:20There's a sex scandal going on in Maine that I'm sure you have a take on.
- 0:27And Keith is joining us.
- 0:29Our most frequented guest now Keith Edwards, our friend, political strategist, internet commentator, and he has one of the fastest growing podcasts right now.
- 0:39We have a lot to talk about, so let's get into it.
- 0:47In honor of Pride Month, Meg Stalter, who is literally the queen of the world.
- 0:50If you don't know who that is, you're welcome.
- 0:52Go google her.
- 0:54Dropped a single called gay and it's pretty awesome.
- 0:58Did you watch Hacks?
- 0:59I'm like season three.
- 1:00The series finale was impeccable.
- 1:04It was beautiful.
- 1:05I watched it this weekend 'cause I was home for twenty four hours because now I'm in Washington DC.
- 1:11And I'm chasing you down there.
- 1:13I'm on a train in the morning.
- 1:14To DC well I've been I'm on a train back up to New York, so we'll be like ships in the night what do you call an Amtrak rider?
- 1:23A Biden?
- 1:24We're Biden's on the train.
- 1:26Uh Joe Byron.
- 1:27It is primary season and at time of recording polls are open.
- 1:33It is a huge primary day in like seven states.
- 1:38So it's a busy, busy week.
- 1:40Yeah, you posted something that was like the future of the country is like today or something.
- 1:46The future of the Democratic Party is at stake.
- 1:49That was in the words of Punchbowl or Politico or something like that.
- 1:53But there's a bunch of ideological battles on the ballot today, and we're going to get a f a sense.
- 1:58We're going to get a flavor of where the Democratic Party is headed.
- 2:01What's your flavour?
- 2:03Tell me w do you remember that song?
- 2:05It's was that that's a real song?
- 2:10I thought it was a jingle.
- 2:11What's your flavor?
- 2:13Tell me what's your flavor.
- 2:14Anyway, this is I'm a millennial.
- 2:15You're cusp.
- 2:17So let's get into it.
- 2:18No, I'm fucking not.
- 2:19That's literal blasphemy.
- 2:21Okay.
- 2:23Girl, I don't even know what day it is.
- 2:24I know, same for real.
- 2:26Holy shit.
- 2:27But do know what Graham Platner looks like shirtless.
- 2:30Okay, we have to talk about this.
- 2:32I am frustrated and disappointed in our party.
- 2:39There's a lot of things to say here.
- 2:41But I want to start with like, yes, we can be mad at Chuck Schumer for forcing Janet Mills down our throats, we can be mad that the Democratic Party and the institution did not find a candidate that they fully supported that was younger than 78 years old.
- 2:57And did not have the lack of judgment track record that Graham Platner very clearly has.
- 3:05And what I'm most disgruntled about scrolling the internet, I'm seeing a bunch of women who are trying to contextualize and explain his behavior.
- 3:17And Graham just isn't.
- 3:19His wife is.
- 3:20He he put his wife out to slaughter like, record this video about how it it was just marital trouble and your friend, you know, broke your trust and leaked this and blah blah blah.
- 3:31And it's just like if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck.
- 3:36It's a duck?
- 3:39And in this case, duck meaning sex pest, like lack of judgment.
- 3:45I don't know, like how many things can pile on a candidate where we're still like pushing him on the stage?
- 3:54Wait, I think that you and I are gonna have radically different takes on this.
- 3:57Because when I read about it, my reaction was who cares?
- 4:04Was who cares?
- 4:06Because wait, I just want to clarify something.
- 4:07I read some.
- 4:08I haven't read everything.
- 4:10To my knowledge, from what I have read, everything was consensual.
- 4:16So, like there was there was sexting going on.
- 4:19He was sexting with people early.
- 4:20It sounds like early in his marriage, but he didn't meet any of the women and it was consensual.
- 4:26So it wasn't like he was a sexual harasser or sexual abuser.
- 4:30Is that all fair?
- 4:32Totally fair, and I'm not saying that.
- 4:33I'm saying that he has a lack of judgment, sound judgment.
- 4:37I'm also like, if you want an open marriage, if you want an open relationship, if you and your partner have an agreement that you can have as many online flirtations as you want, that's your thing.
- 4:48I'm like, I don't want to be in your bedroom.
- 4:50But I'm just like I I've also I have a lot to say because I've been listening to all of his interviews and I have grown a little weary of him.
- 5:02I told you guys that Glennis is queer and this is what I'm talking about.
- 5:06Glennis is like, your marriage is your marriage.
- 5:09And if you're wanna be a slut, then be a slut.
- 5:11I just can't believe it's as newsworthy as it is because he didn't have an affair.
- 5:18He was literally sexting.
- 5:20I wanna be clear, I'm not dismissing the behavior from whether it's okay or not okay in the context of a relationship.
- 5:26What I'm saying is it belongs in the context of the relationship and they can like deal with it however they want to deal with it.
- 5:32And I actually think that it has nothing to do with me.
- 5:35And in a day and age where the president has been credibly accused of rape and has been held civilly liable for literal sexual assault, like he's the fucking president.
- 5:52I'm shocked that it's as new it has gotten as much news as it has.
- 5:58He did not meet he didn't even have an affair.
- 6:01I'm I'm just surprised.
- 6:03I'm just surprised.
- 6:03No.
- 6:04Yeah, yeah.
- 6:04I I hear what you're saying.
- 6:05He didn't have an affair.
- 6:07He was just like sexting I'm just like, is your ego so big, you really feel like you are the guy to solve this affordability issue and you are the guy that's gonna make Mainers life like markedly more equitable and better?
- 6:19It's just like I I'm very turned off by the ego of it, but as I'm saying this I recognize anyone who runs for federal office has a massive ego.
- 6:27So I mean that's definitely true.
- 6:29I feel like what Platner represents in a grander way is a lot of people, not everyone, but a lot of people in the Democratic Party moving away from a resume based selection process because his resume it does not equal US senator, it's not the resume of someone who has spent their life aiming to run for public office.
- 6:54And that's exactly what people like about him and what is attracting a lot of Democrats to him is that we've run all of these lawyers and business people who seem to have planned on a public office campaign for a long time.
- 7:12And they were vetted the house down boots.
- 7:15Until they were left with zero personality and in many cases no backbone because they've been hand-selected by these processes and consultants and what have you.
- 7:26I see a lot of people just wanting to throw out that process and say, that's not who we want to pick our candidates anymore.
- 7:32Those aren't the kinds of candidates that we want.
- 7:34They're not representing the average everyday person, and they don't seem to really get what I am feeling when I get out of my car at the gas station or when I am at the checkout of a grocery line, the people who have thought about running for office their whole life usually are not the people who vibe with that or who come to mind.
- 7:55And that's where I do see the connection as like y if you throw out that process, if you throw out the vetting and the hand selection by the party and the consultant class, y if things get messier.
- 8:06Listen, you know me, I'm a workhorse.
- 8:08Once we have the candidate, I'm gonna do everything I can to get them elected.
- 8:12Period.
- 8:13But I will also say there is something to like he very much represents the male experience in America.
- 8:19Whether or not I agree with the patriarchal society that we live in that has forced men to feel a certain way about themselves or act a certain way or feel liberties around certain things.
- 8:29Like he does represent a lot of men.
- 8:33In that way.
- 8:35So there is a value in that of someone being able to say, I've made mistakes, I'm learning, I'm building, I'm in therapy, I'm building out my mental health toolbox, et cetera.
- 8:46I'm just like over it with him.
- 8:50I'm just like, get over it.
- 8:52From Glennis today is we need to recruit more adulterers to run for office under the banner of the Democratic Party.
- 9:01And that is a strategy for how we're gonna bring men back to the d Democratic Party.
- 9:06It's an original take.
- 9:07I like it.
- 9:08I think that you're on to something, and we gotta find some hose.
- 9:13What do you Well, we we have the the original Bill Clinton, so Yeah, we gotta go wait.
- 9:23That is hilarious.
- 9:27Graham Platner heard Third Way or some center left group say, we gotta go back to the to Clinton era politics and what he heard was I'm getting late.
- 9:41No, what he heard is basically what you just said, which is I did not have sexual relations with that woman.
- 9:46I just texted her.
- 9:48I just texted her.
- 9:51Yeah, I mean though.
- 9:53Like Graham's just a loser.
- 9:54I'm like, ugh, you actively chose to work for Blackwater.
- 9:57Okay.
- 9:58Anyway.
- 9:59The primary I think is in a week in Maine, and he is almost certain to win the primary.
- 10:06Mills is still on the ballot, but that ship sailed, in my opinion, a long time ago.
- 10:12So he is almost guaranteed to be our nominee.
- 10:16I feel like this is a crazy thing to drop.
- 10:19Him over people are reporting on Bernie Sanders continuing his support like it's a surprise and I'm like, what?
- 10:26We'll see what happens.
- 10:27I think that in the crazy news cycle of 2026 this is not going to last more than a couple of weeks.
- 10:34Couple of days.
- 10:35A couple of days.
- 10:36Okay, Brian, I'm now I'm like down in the dumps.
- 10:39I need Oath inspiration.
- 10:41Can you tell me about a candidate that's in your orbit that you're genuinely excited about and could potentially need resourcing?
- 10:54This just in.
- 10:55That's that's my Rick Devens impression for all you Survivor stans for our Oath candidate of the week, if you will, I'm gonna give a shout out to Bobby Pulido, who is a Latin Grammy winning artist.
- 11:12Yeah, he won a Latin Grammy and is a musician who is running for Congress to flip a seat in Texas.
- 11:22And yeah, he's like this maverick type of dem who feels called to run because everyone that he knows is getting totally screwed and Trump treats Latino people like shit and he took it on himself to throw his hat in the ring and he's doing great.
- 11:37So this is a totally winnable seat that Republicans thought that they had secured for themselves through gerrymandering.
- 11:44But because Trump has doubled the cost of everything and made many Latino people afraid to go to work or leave the house, even as as US citizens, we now have a chance to flip this seat with Bobby Pulido.
- 11:56So I feel like that is a great race for people to check out if they want to help expand the electorate, win in hard to win places and help take back the House.
- 12:06Yeah, so follow him on his socials.
- 12:08Is he the candidate who like his opponent is like racist and was like, he's a quinceañera singer and he's like, I'm not, but I will be.
- 12:16And now he's using quinceañeras to go and perform and like do relational like that to me.
- 12:23That is iconic behavior.
- 12:25And hell yeah.
- 12:27Yeah, he just basically told his whole community, like, hey, let me know when your quinceañera is and I'll pop in and play a song.
- 12:32Using it to campaign.
- 12:33It's epic.
- 12:34Okay.
- 12:35That I'm in a better mood now, thank you, Brian.
- 12:37You got it.
- 12:38I'm in DC, my friend texted me yesterday and he's like, I need on the boots or not on the boots.
- 12:42I need on the ground, boots on the ground reporting.
- 12:45Sorry, it's it's Pride Month.
- 12:47I'm like, boots, house down, diva.
- 12:49Boots on the ground reporting to go see the cage.
- 12:53I know.
- 12:54The UFC cage being put up, I think for like a hundred million dollars or something crazy at the White House.
- 13:00Not to be confused with the billion dollars for the ballroom, which is separate.
- 13:04You know, I have these like fantasies of like citizens arrest, you know?
- 13:08Like c can I just like arrest a do a citizen's arrest on like a senator no.
- 13:14Well, I cause I I can't get to Trump.
- 13:16I was thinking about it.
- 13:17I used to do advanced work, so I know I know how hard it is to get to the actual principals.
- 13:22Um want us all to play out for a second.
- 13:24Let's imagine that s Trump's Secret Service for like the third time leaves a door unlocked or some shit and you just see Glennis bolt into the Oval Office and tackle Trump to the ground to put him under a citizen's arrest.
- 13:38I could see it.
- 13:39She's in a camo hat right now for our audio only listeners.
- 13:43She's uh my Proud Boys jacket here 'cause I wore it it like this is I this is it's not a proud Proud Boys jacket.
- 13:50It's a jacket that I bought for the Olympics that is by this like Beyoncé wore this designer on her tour.
- 13:55It's like the Americana, leather Americana jackets and I I have like two of them and I I'm going to like a a themed thing, like at a state fair thing.
- 14:04It's like right here.
- 14:05It's like America, you see?
- 14:08And like USA.
- 14:09Yeah.
- 14:09It's giving um what's that FX show with the motorcycles?
- 14:12No.
- 14:14Sons of Anarchy.
- 14:15Yeah.
- 14:15It's giving the Sons of Anarchy.
- 14:17I was scrolling the internet the other day and a one of the Proud Boys just got out of jail and the clip from J6 was wearing that jacket.
- 14:30Yeah, so I'm like, ooh, ooh.
- 14:31But No, I I like it.
- 14:34It's incognito for you.
- 14:36I I'm I'm a fan.
- 14:37I think that it's a a good look.
- 14:38My camo, I'll have that and I'll just like take my little handcuffs and say citizens arrest.
- 14:44Dog the bounty hunter, but it's Glennis Meagher Why not though?
- 14:49Like honestly, it's isn't it my right as an American citizen?
- 14:52I have the freedom to do that.
- 14:54Is.
- 14:54What the fuck are we talking about?
- 14:55Okay, Jared Polis pardoning that little bitch, Tina Peters.
- 15:02Wait, I saw you post about this and you were like, my number one enemy, Jared Polis.
- 15:08Like what what's going on?
- 15:10I'm not up on it on the news.
- 15:11I'm so mad.
- 15:13Tina Peters is one of the only people to have been convicted at the state level for the bullshit that she pulled after the 2020 election cycle because she violated the voting machines themselves.
- 15:30She inappropriately gained access to voting machines to try to prove that there was some fraud that didn't exist in Colorado.
- 15:36And she was a ringleader of conspiratorial bullshit.
- 15:39Is she a private citizen or was she okay.
- 15:44I'm pretty sure what she did was Watergate adjacent that she gave some outside company access or s one of Trump's allies access to the voting machines in an attempt to try to overturn the election in 2020 in Colorado.
- 16:01And she was convicted and sentenced to years in prison for for that.
- 16:08And Jared Polis, the Democratic gay, billionaire, I think hundred millionaire governor of Colorado, just commuted her sentence and just let her out.
- 16:18And the what is the reason?
- 16:22There is not a good reason.
- 16:26He says her sentence was too harsh.
- 16:28Excuse me.
- 16:30He let her out after a bunch of pressure from Trump.
- 16:32Trump has been all over him because Trump could not pardon her because it was a state conviction, not federal law.
- 16:40And the president has no ability to pardon state crimes like murder, things like that.
- 16:45Like we had her, she was held accountable, and there was no way for Trump and his cronies to release her.
- 16:51And then Jared Polis like, wait, I got you, and then just let her out.
- 16:56The say to Jared Polis right now?
- 16:59Okay, well, it gets worse.
- 17:01Oh, okay.
- 17:01The day she got out, she goes on Steve Bannon's podcast and says, I was a political prisoner.
- 17:09The Democrats are cheating again in the midterms.
- 17:12We have to stop them.
- 17:14Spewing all of these lies, this disinformation as if she has some sort of inside scoop on something non existent when she's been in jail.
- 17:22Like when she's been literally in jail.
- 17:24Some plot to had information?
- 17:28And so Jared Polis gets censured by the Colorado legislature.
- 17:32Everyone in Colorado Democrats are furious.
- 17:35This was completely rogue behavior.
- 17:37Then he shows up at some event with his mouth duct taped shut, saying that I'm not joking, saying he posts a photo of it himself.
- 17:48Yes.
- 17:49Showed up to an event with his mouth duct taped shut.
- 17:55Saying that he was being silenced by the Democratic Party in Colorado because they voted to censure him over his commutation of a again, I would call her domestic terrorist, of someone who is knowingly attacking the foundations of American democracy abusing her position of power to illegally undermine our election system.
- 18:21Yeah.
- 18:16Would make this decision and that there's nothing that we can do about it.
- 18:20Uh it I'm li I'm genuinely speechless.
- 18:23Yeah.
- 18:24He's well hi the thing is like she's a traitor.
- 18:26Like she's a fucking traitor.
- 18:29Why are you releasing her?
- 18:31Like she should rot in prison for as long as her sentence told her to.
- 18:35I wanna look at who funds him.
- 18:37Like w where did his campaign contributions come from?
- 18:40Like he's like a bajillionaire.
- 18:42He's a tech dude.
- 18:43And I'd have to go pull his campaign finance reports.
- 18:45I'm assuming he's self funded and apparently has a bit of an independent streak generally and just kind of does whatever.
- 18:52But this is so beyond for me.
- 18:56As you noted, I posted I will never support him for any elected office again.
- 19:01He's term limited out of governor and he was on the list.
- 19:08I wouldn't say a short list, but he's been on the list of people who might run for president.
- 19:12And no, sir, not in the Democratic Party.
- 19:15Not in the Democratic Party.
- 19:16There's no room for that.
- 19:18If you could look Governor Jared Polis of Colorado in the eye and tell him one thing, what would you say to him?
- 19:24Without committing an act of physical violence.
- 19:26Yes.
- 19:27I would tell him that I think that he has violated the trust of every single person who voted for him and that any true believer in our democratic system and institutions would be embarrassed by his behavior and that he should feel ashamed of himself.
- 19:43Yeah, deep shame.
- 19:45My question is like can the people of Colorado do anything about this?
- 19:48Or are they just like, well, you're the guy who makes the decision, so we're stuck with this No, I mean our favorite movie ever, Double Jeopardy, with Ashley Judd, reminds us that she can't be tried for the same crime again and a sentence cannot be uncommuted.
- 20:03They can go pick her up on new charges because she clearly shows intent to commit more crimes.
- 20:09I've seen enough Law and Order: SVU to know that when you get out, you're usually on parole and there are rules to your parole.
- 20:15I've seen enough Law and Order: And I bet you going on Steve Bannon and spewing misinformation and disinformation about the election is violating her parole.
- 20:22I've seen enough Law and Order: So if I was her parole officer, I would be knocking down her door and I would be saying, you're coming with me Do you have parole if you get your sentence commuted though?
- 20:35I've seen enough Law and Order: Don't know.
- 20:34I've seen enough Law and Order: I wow, you brought me right back down, Brian.
- 20:37I've seen enough Law and Order: It's not a good day for me.
- 20:38I've seen enough Law and Order: That's why like commutation and pardons in general are awesome, and I mean that in the literal definition of the word, power that is granted to an executive, whether you're the governor or the president.
- 20:51I've seen enough Law and Order: It's something to be really careful with and that should be used with intent to correct harms.
- 20:59I've seen enough Law and Order: Because yeah, I think she just like walks.
- 21:03I've seen enough Law and Order: Wow.
- 21:04I've seen enough Law and Order: Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame.
- 21:06I've seen enough Law and Order: Real.
- 21:06I've seen enough Law and Order: A hundred percent.
- 21:07I've seen enough Law and Order: We just have to do a quick check-in with our favorite plutocrats and oligarchs of silicon valley, where in the last ten days or so all the big AI companies have signaled either privately or publicly their intent to go public, to IPO.
- 21:22I've seen enough Law and Order: And the valuations are out of this world, literally.
- 21:26I've seen enough Law and Order: Listen, as someone who is part of a very infamous IPO at WeWork, I know a thing or two about inflated valuations.
- 21:37I've seen enough Law and Order: The the numbers are insane.
- 21:38I've seen enough Law and Order: SpaceX, Elon Musk's SpaceX is one point seven trillion.
- 21:43I've seen enough Law and Order: The other one's Anthropic at a trillion, right?
- 21:49I've seen enough Law and Order: Fake news.
- 21:50I've seen enough Law and Order: It's just like what?
- 21:51I've seen enough Law and Order: It's it's hard to comprehend.
- 21:53I've seen enough Law and Order: And then at the same time you see Blue Origin's rocket like blow up.
- 21:58I've seen enough Law and Order: Did you see that?
- 21:59I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 22:00I've seen enough Law and Order: Mixed headlines as to whether that was planned or not.
- 22:02I've seen enough Law and Order: I guess it wasn't.
- 22:05I've seen enough Law and Order: I don't know if you saw the footage.
- 22:06I've seen enough Law and Order: If that was planned, we need to have a check in with Jeff Bezos.
- 22:11I've seen enough Law and Order: Well okay, there's obviously an AI angle here about the power of these companies and the corruption taking place between these companies and the Trump administration.
- 22:22I've seen enough Law and Order: But I also just want to point to the economic risk.
- 22:27I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm not a trained economist, but I will say we've seen the market consolidate more.
- 22:36I've seen enough Law and Order: In the last couple of years, around a handful of companies, than we've really ever seen it.
- 22:41I've seen enough Law and Order: The entire S&P 500 is being propped up by a handful of companies that are growing at an unprecedented rate based on speculative value that they think that these companies are going to run the world and therefore people are dumping unlimited sums of money into them.
- 22:56I've seen enough Law and Order: Once you IPO, you sort of find out the real value of the company because.
- 23:04I've seen enough Law and Order: A handful of people, relatively speaking, can value your company at anything they want and invest in you, and that makes you worth that amount.
- 23:13I've seen enough Law and Order: But the market is the market.
- 23:17I've seen enough Law and Order: And once people are able to directly trade Anthropic stock, if their valuations end up being really inflated.
- 23:31I've seen enough Law and Order: The economy, the markets, I won't say the whole economy, but the markets could essentially crash, no?
- 23:39I've seen enough Law and Order: Yes.
- 23:39I've seen enough Law and Order: I feel very overwhelmed by all of it.
- 23:41I've seen enough Law and Order: One because it's like we're seeing these insane numbers that feel literally unreal.
- 23:45I've seen enough Law and Order: We see that they're all IPOing or you know, two huge companies are IPO ing at a very similar time.
- 23:50I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm like there's not there's not enough money in the market.
- 23:52I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm not an economist I just am like deeply unnerved by all of it and how fast AI is growing.
- 23:58I've seen enough Law and Order: I know we talked about data centers.
- 24:00I've seen enough Law and Order: I think we should probably talk about them a little bit more on another episode 'cause it's worth like digging a little bit deeper on that.
- 24:05I've seen enough Law and Order: You made some good points about like we have to keep moving ahead with data centers because China is and we need to be innovative and be, leaders in this space.
- 24:12I've seen enough Law and Order: But with like the IPOs of it all, I'm like, I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 24:16I've seen enough Law and Order: Oh we have a special guest with us this week, our friend and internet provocateur, Keith Edwards.
- 24:27I've seen enough Law and Order: Hi.
- 24:28I've seen enough Law and Order: Hey Keith.
- 24:30I've seen enough Law and Order: I like this red hat.
- 24:31I've seen enough Law and Order: Are you taking red hats back?
- 24:35I've seen enough Law and Order: It says gay.
- 24:37I've seen enough Law and Order: I don't know if you can see.
- 24:40I've seen enough Law and Order: It says gay somewhere.
- 24:41I've seen enough Law and Order: I think that you are our first three time guest.
- 24:46I've seen enough Law and Order: That's great.
- 24:47I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm excited about that.
- 24:48I've seen enough Law and Order: Hardcore friend of the pod.
- 24:50I've seen enough Law and Order: Yes.
- 24:51I've seen enough Law and Order: We're thrilled.
- 24:51I've seen enough Law and Order: Thank you, Keith.
- 24:52I've seen enough Law and Order: And I I cornered you on the pod today.
- 24:55I've seen enough Law and Order: We we asked you on but only because I'm petty and you didn't respond to my text message.
- 25:03I've seen enough Law and Order: No, I know.
- 25:03I've seen enough Law and Order: And I'm how are you?
- 25:06I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm good.
- 25:06I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm good.
- 25:07I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm really happy to be here.
- 25:08I've seen enough Law and Order: I love hanging out with you guys.
- 25:09I've seen enough Law and Order: But I'm good.
- 25:10I've seen enough Law and Order: I feel like things are good, right?
- 25:12I've seen enough Law and Order: Am I wrong?
- 25:13I've seen enough Law and Order: It feels like it feels like if w authoritarianism was gonna happen, it would have happened by now.
- 25:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Right?
- 25:22I've seen enough Law and Order: Am I wrong?
- 25:23I've seen enough Law and Order: Isn't it?
- 25:24I've seen enough Law and Order: In some ways, kind of it it's it's happening.
- 25:29I've seen enough Law and Order: I think that the situation with Trump is as bad as ever, but I think that politically our position is stronger than it's been in a decade.
- 25:41I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 25:41I've seen enough Law and Order: There's stories about how Trump is not sure JD Vance can take the mantle.
- 25:46I've seen enough Law and Order: And I'm like, guys, that's a big story because the insinuation there is that Trump is going to leave.
- 25:52I've seen enough Law and Order: You know?
- 25:52I've seen enough Law and Order: So like that's where I'm a little like, all right, okay.
- 25:57I've seen enough Law and Order: But then again I feel confident that the midterms are not going to canceled, that Trump is not going to run again for another term.
- 26:04I've seen enough Law and Order: Before we get into news of the week stuff, you are a foremost expert on Donald Trump's ailments.
- 26:12I've seen enough Law and Order: You are like locked into that man's body.
- 26:18I've seen enough Law and Order: Every time there is a bruise, I'm like, I see it only from Thank you.
- 26:23I've seen enough Law and Order: Account.
- 26:24I've seen enough Law and Order: Can you tell us how is Donald Trump's health doing these days?
- 26:27I've seen enough Law and Order: Well, as of the time of recording, we have not seen the president in person in six days.
- 26:33I've seen enough Law and Order: Isn't that weird?
- 26:35I've seen enough Law and Order: He did one pre-recorded interview with Fox.
- 26:38I've seen enough Law and Order: With his by the way, we don't talk about this enough.
- 26:41I've seen enough Law and Order: Lara, Lara, however you say her name, I refuse to learn these people's names because that they don't deserve the respect.
- 26:46I've seen enough Law and Order: But his daughter in law doing an interview for Fox, by the way, so it's been almost a week since he's we've seen him in person.
- 26:54I've seen enough Law and Order: Didn't he also just have that medical app like the third medical appointment in like six months?
- 26:59I've seen enough Law and Order: And they're like, he's healthy.
- 27:03I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 27:03I've seen enough Law and Order: Right, his third annual.
- 27:05I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah, it's it's very bizarre.
- 27:06I've seen enough Law and Order: I don't know, it's like something feels not right.
- 27:10I've seen enough Law and Order: You're right.
- 27:11I've seen enough Law and Order: What did Judge Judy say?
- 27:12I've seen enough Law and Order: If it doesn't make sense, it's a lie.
- 27:16I've seen enough Law and Order: It's like something like that.
- 27:18I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm paraphrasing Judge Judy.
- 27:19I've seen enough Law and Order: She says it better than me.
- 27:20I've seen enough Law and Order: But I think everyone knows there's something going on.
- 27:24I've seen enough Law and Order: There's something going on with the president's health.
- 27:27I've seen enough Law and Order: And I don't understand why the mainstream media is not.
- 27:31I've seen enough Law and Order: Going harder on this because it's a big story.
- 27:34I've seen enough Law and Order: And I'm gonna be pissed off if Jake Tapper or Kaitlan Collins or someone else comes out with a book in two years and it's like, what was really going on with the president's health?
- 27:44I've seen enough Law and Order: You know?
- 27:45I've seen enough Law and Order: Out of my mouth when Jake Tapper's like, well, we knew at that debate stage, like you knew you wanted to write a book and make money.
- 27:51I've seen enough Law and Order: You didn't do your job for the American people and report on what you were seeing with your own eyes.
- 27:57I've seen enough Law and Order: Glennis has a pressing issue for you, Keith.
- 27:59I've seen enough Law and Order: Press yeah, I do have a pressing issue I'm on the conference circuit so I actually haven't been as online as I typically am.
- 28:05I've seen enough Law and Order: And I got back online on Saturday and I saw that there was this new drama in our, you know, left universe, and you had commented on something and I said, okay, noted There is a lawsuit that is now public between a very established, respected organizer who has done tremendous work, Pattie Gonia, a drag performer.
- 28:28I've seen enough Law and Order: She's been in the game for I think over a decade, has done really awesome work for climate activism.
- 28:33I've seen enough Law and Order: V, Patagonia, the clothing, apparel, outdoor gear brand.
- 28:39I've seen enough Law and Order: Now, people have a lot of opinions on this.
- 28:43I've seen enough Law and Order: Keith, do you have any?
- 28:45I've seen enough Law and Order: Well, what's happened is that Pattie Gonia had merch that was ripping off Patagonia's logo.
- 28:56I've seen enough Law and Order: And so she's getting sued and I kind of feel like what's the harm, you know, in like a drag queen?
- 29:04I've seen enough Law and Order: Having a parody logo that I don't even think she sold for money.
- 29:09I've seen enough Law and Order: I think it was just a mock up.
- 29:12I've seen enough Law and Order: So she's getting sued for copyright infringement.
- 29:14I've seen enough Law and Order: And so I what do you think it is?
- 29:20I've seen enough Law and Order: A drag queen.
- 29:21I've seen enough Law and Order: Like she's a very established company.
- 29:23I've seen enough Law and Order: Like she she makes money as her drag alter ego.
- 29:28I've seen enough Law and Order: The issue here for me is that it's very clearly in like infringement of the the trademark.
- 29:32I've seen enough Law and Order: Anyone who has a trademark knows that when you file it, you file it for specific purpose.
- 29:37I've seen enough Law and Order: Patagonia had filed the trademark for outdoor gear, merchandise, et cetera.
- 29:42I've seen enough Law and Order: So therefore Pattie Gonia cannot have that.
- 29:45I've seen enough Law and Order: I think she was trying to sell whether it be the t-shirt or like a hydro flask, I think was like the claim in the trademark, you can't do that.
- 29:52I've seen enough Law and Order: I see some comparisons online which I think are good.
- 29:54I've seen enough Law and Order: It's like Trixie Mattel is not trying to sell toys and Trixie has Trixie trademarked or Brita filter is not trying to sell water filters.
- 30:04I've seen enough Law and Order: And when you start doing that then you have an issue.
- 30:07I've seen enough Law and Order: And the thing is it protects small businesses too.
- 30:09I've seen enough Law and Order: Like, yes, Patagonia is this like massive company, right?
- 30:12I've seen enough Law and Order: But like I do kind of feel that Pattie Gonia, very good PR person, to make this announcement right before Pride Month, then to have the online masses just totally aligned and coalesce behind her when trademark law does protect small businesses.
- 30:27I've seen enough Law and Order: Like I could I could say, Brian, I'm gonna file a mark for Oath.
- 30:31I've seen enough Law and Order: I whatever your trademark is in.
- 30:33I've seen enough Law and Order: But if I if I say like, I'm gonna file a trademark for Oath but they're gonna be tissues, then I could have it.
- 30:39I've seen enough Law and Order: You're not selling tissues.
- 30:40I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 30:41I've seen enough Law and Order: There's like an Oath that has a trademark now that's like a pizza brand that we obviously have no issue with because we're not selling pizza.
- 30:48I've seen enough Law and Order: But yes, I feel like the interesting thing here is the information war online because now we're seeing Patagonia release a statement through Instagram and then Pattie Gonia will respond with a video and then Patagonia will like make an offer and then Pattie- Pattie Gonia reacts to it.
- 31:05I've seen enough Law and Order: And it's very interesting.
- 31:07I've seen enough Law and Order: I I don't know that I've ever seen what should essentially be a court battle play out literally through Instagram newsfeeds rather than through court filings.
- 31:16I've seen enough Law and Order: It's kind of bizarre.
- 31:18I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah, and there's only like two outcomes here.
- 31:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Pattie drops the file for the trademark or she loses a lawsuit.
- 31:26I've seen enough Law and Order: So I just feel like no, she could just things she could do and she would be fine.
- 31:34I've seen enough Law and Order: But just not sell outdoor gear I think what's interesting too is a lot of this happened on Threads.
- 31:39I've seen enough Law and Order: Like, I think a big part of this was thread.
- 31:41I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah, Threads is how I found out about it.
- 31:43I've seen enough Law and Order: When I originally was looking into it, I was on her side because the way she presented it made a lot of sense to me.
- 31:50I've seen enough Law and Order: And then I read Patagonia's version of things and I was like, uh it kind of feels like you have like you took advantage of the situation.
- 32:01I've seen enough Law and Order: You like took it too far.
- 32:02I've seen enough Law and Order: It sounds like they had like a ba they basically like an agreement that they were totally fine with it.
- 32:07I've seen enough Law and Order: Just don't do these certain things.
- 32:08I've seen enough Law and Order: And then she did.
- 32:10I've seen enough Law and Order: And so it seems like they were trying to do the right thing.
- 32:14I've seen enough Law and Order: And if the way that they explained how copyright is like if you don't protect it with everyone, then it makes it hard to protect it when bad actors do it too, because the more parody there is out there, the harder it is for your copyright or trademark to be defended in court.
- 32:32I've seen enough Law and Order: Because they were like, well, do you really own this?
- 32:34I've seen enough Law and Order: Is this really something you own?
- 32:37I've seen enough Law and Order: So I get that.
- 32:38I've seen enough Law and Order: I just think it's just I actually think it's just so boring.
- 32:41I've seen enough Law and Order: Who cares?
- 32:42I've seen enough Law and Order: There's so much going on.
- 32:44I've seen enough Law and Order: I think it's probably a net good for both of them to be honest.
- 32:47I've seen enough Law and Order: And also like can we just say Patagonia?
- 32:50I've seen enough Law and Order: They didn't fucking come up with that name.
- 32:53I've seen enough Law and Order: That's like the name of a place.
- 32:55I've seen enough Law and Order: You know, it's like it's that too you know, that's where I'm a little like, come on guys.
- 33:02I've seen enough Law and Order: You know?
- 33:02I've seen enough Law and Order: Filing to own I can't believe I'm like defending a corporation, but like they're not filing it to like say we own Patagonia.
- 33:09I've seen enough Law and Order: They just own the name as it relates to their services that they're providing.
- 33:12I've seen enough Law and Order: Like Arizona iced tea doesn't own Arizona.
- 33:16I've seen enough Law and Order: They just own iced tea with the name of Arizona.
- 33:19I've seen enough Law and Order: I hear you.
- 33:19I've seen enough Law and Order: My issue also to Brian's point to zoom out, I didn't realize it started on Threads.
- 33:23I've seen enough Law and Order: That makes a lot of sense.
- 33:25I've seen enough Law and Order: A lot of sense.
- 33:26I've seen enough Law and Order: It's just like how the online like Greek chorus is just like saying all of these things and blindly trusting a person when there's actually law that exists that does protect them as citizens as well.
- 33:39I've seen enough Law and Order: It I think it was an interesting learning moment for like digital media writ large of just like everyone needs to get a grip and take a beat and read a book something about like how law works in the united states.
- 33:50I've seen enough Law and Order: And then let's move forward.
- 33:52I've seen enough Law and Order: It was giving like a little like MAGA mob energy to me a little bit.
- 33:56I've seen enough Law and Order: Well, I love when people trust creators without any thinking.
- 34:02I've seen enough Law and Order: That's that works for me.
- 34:04I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah you're like when it's me, it's great.
- 34:10I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 34:10I've seen enough Law and Order: Pattie Gonia has been in my DMs.
- 34:12I've seen enough Law and Order: I never responded though.
- 34:13I've seen enough Law and Order: I think she wanted a date.
- 34:14I've seen enough Law and Order: I was just like I don't I don't know.
- 34:17I've seen enough Law and Order: You know, I can't even respond to Glennis, Pattie.
- 34:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Know.
- 34:21I've seen enough Law and Order: I wanna hear if your thoughts have changed at all around the gerrymandering battles, because I feel like you and I have well, I will say first off, for everyone everyone listening slash watching, I wasn't aware of this topic until five minutes before recording.
- 34:39I've seen enough Law and Order: I didn't come with any facts or knowledge.
- 34:42I've seen enough Law and Order: Okay.
- 34:42I've seen enough Law and Order: So I am coming into this fresh, no lube.
- 34:45I've seen enough Law and Order: Okay.
- 34:46I've seen enough Law and Order: So all right.
- 34:49I've seen enough Law and Order: I I don't want to debate, but I no.
- 34:52I've seen enough Law and Order: I will just say this.
- 34:53I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm gonna say this, and I really do mean this.
- 34:55I've seen enough Law and Order: You become the thing you are fighting if you try to use the tools the enemy does to win.
- 35:02I've seen enough Law and Order: And I don't think it's the right thing to do.
- 35:04I've seen enough Law and Order: I think that the main criticism of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party is that they're both the same.
- 35:15I've seen enough Law and Order: And when shit like this happens, I'm like, well, you're kind of right.
- 35:18I've seen enough Law and Order: What happened to persuading voters?
- 35:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Why can't we explain to voters?
- 35:23I've seen enough Law and Order: Hey, Republicans are trying to rig this.
- 35:26I've seen enough Law and Order: They don't even want your vote.
- 35:28I've seen enough Law and Order: They're trying to rig it.
- 35:30I've seen enough Law and Order: And we're not gonna do that.
- 35:32I've seen enough Law and Order: Instead, we're gonna try to ask you to vote for us because we do want to change this, but we also know that it's wrong.
- 35:41I've seen enough Law and Order: I that sounds persuasive to me.
- 35:43I've seen enough Law and Order: Maybe maybe I'm dumb.
- 35:44I've seen enough Law and Order: That sounds persuasive to me.
- 35:46I've seen enough Law and Order: I understand why they're doing it.
- 35:47I've seen enough Law and Order: But raw power, this like the like Lord of the Rings is about this.
- 35:53I've seen enough Law and Order: It's like or whatever.
- 35:55I've seen enough Law and Order: Just seeking raw power doesn't ever work out in the favor for anyone.
- 36:01I've seen enough Law and Order: So no, I'm against it.
- 36:03I've seen enough Law and Order: A hundred percent.
- 36:04I've seen enough Law and Order: Okay.
- 36:04I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 36:05I've seen enough Law and Order: I mean, I definitely understand your argument and I think that I was more in that lane before, but I've switched from a means focus to an outcome orientation I want a national ban.
- 36:18I've seen enough Law and Order: I want a national ban on gerrymandering and I'm not being picky about the means to get there.
- 36:24I've seen enough Law and Order: Keith, leave us with a hot take on AI, data centers, Graham Platner I don't think I don't think most voters care about AI because most voters don't make enough money and they don't work in fields where AI is actually gonna affect them.
- 36:43I've seen enough Law and Order: So I don't know, where I come from, people don't have careers, they have jobs.
- 36:47I've seen enough Law and Order: And I think most people who have jobs aren't so worried about AI.
- 36:50I've seen enough Law and Order: So I think it's a hot topic for us, but I don't think it's a hot topic for the average American worker.
- 36:57I've seen enough Law and Order: And Graham Platner looks hot in the picture.
- 37:03I've seen enough Law and Order: Let's just say it.
- 37:04I've seen enough Law and Order: He looks hot.
- 37:05I've seen enough Law and Order: Like I'm like, okay.
- 37:06I've seen enough Law and Order: I I saw that.
- 37:07I've seen enough Law and Order: I was like, well Vote secured.
- 37:11I've seen enough Law and Order: Woo! I don't think people care about texting like that.
- 37:15I've seen enough Law and Order: For me, I'm just like, you do not have to be perfect to get into office now.
- 37:20I've seen enough Law and Order: That's kind of how I feel.
- 37:22I've seen enough Law and Order: Whatever Donald Trump did, I think he broke a lot of things.
- 37:25I've seen enough Law and Order: I I think that's probably one of the better things he broke.
- 37:28I've seen enough Law and Order: We're all people.
- 37:29I've seen enough Law and Order: We all have complicated lives, we're complicated people.
- 37:33I've seen enough Law and Order: We all have histories.
- 37:34I've seen enough Law and Order: That's okay.
- 37:35I've seen enough Law and Order: Now I don't know if there's been growth there.
- 37:37I've seen enough Law and Order: But I certainly don't want shaky ass Susan Collins in there for another six years.
- 37:42I've seen enough Law and Order: Her fucking tremor ass self.
- 37:44I've seen enough Law and Order: I can't.
- 37:45I've seen enough Law and Order: Like get out.
- 37:46I've seen enough Law and Order: You are too old.
- 37:47I've seen enough Law and Order: You are too old.
- 37:48I've seen enough Law and Order: And by the way, she doesn't believe in anything.
- 37:50I've seen enough Law and Order: She just wants to stay because I don't like I don't understand this thing where people just stay for so long.
- 37:56I've seen enough Law and Order: Like you you are not the only one who can do this job.
- 38:00I've seen enough Law and Order: Maxine Waters, you're not the only person who can do this job.
- 38:04I've seen enough Law and Order: And in fact, you're definitely not the best person to do this job anymore and to be able to recognize that.
- 38:09I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah, I mean you just like basically in ninety seconds had the conversation that Brian and I had about Graham Platner.
- 38:14I've seen enough Law and Order: My thing is like growth and judgment.
- 38:18I've seen enough Law and Order: Let's see.
- 38:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Let's see.
- 38:21I've seen enough Law and Order: But I mean, whatever.
- 38:23I've seen enough Law and Order: Who cares?
- 38:24I've seen enough Law and Order: Literally assaulting people and get off the internet.
- 38:27I've seen enough Law and Order: I used to respect you.
- 38:28I've seen enough Law and Order: Like, get off the internet.
- 38:31I've seen enough Law and Order: She's taking swings at everyone.
- 38:33I've seen enough Law and Order: She's responding to accounts that don't have real names or real faces on their profile.
- 38:40I've seen enough Law and Order: Like, what are you doing?
- 38:41I've seen enough Law and Order: I don't even do that.
- 38:43I've seen enough Law and Order: We need to have you where like strategists or people in the industry feel like they have to step into the content creator role it's like very like disingenuous and weird to me.
- 38:53I've seen enough Law and Order: I'm just like, people have their lanes, like maybe stay in them.
- 38:56I've seen enough Law and Order: Yeah.
- 38:58I've seen enough Law and Order: If you're in line to serve in the next administration, stay in line.
- 39:02I've seen enough Law and Order: In line.
- 39:03I've seen enough Law and Order: Keith, we love you.
- 39:04I've seen enough Law and Order: I didn't say happy Pride.
- 39:06I've seen enough Law and Order: Happy Pride.
- 39:07I've seen enough Law and Order: Happy happy Pride.
- 39:09I've seen enough Law and Order: Glennis is so performative.
- 39:11I've seen enough Law and Order: I I no I'm not.
- 39:13I've seen enough Law and Order: Without Charlie Kirk.
- 39:15I've seen enough Law and Order: Sad.
- 39:16I've seen enough Law and Order: Sad.
- 39:18I've seen enough Law and Order: It won't be the same.
- 39:19I've seen enough Law and Order: RIP.
- 39:20I've seen enough Law and Order: RIP.
- 39:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Thank you.
- 39:20I've seen enough Law and Order: Um Gay rights and gay wrongs.
- 39:25I've seen enough Law and Order: Mostly gay wrongs in over here for sure.
- 39:32I've seen enough Law and Order: Thanks for coming on, Keith.
