That bottle of hydrogen peroxide in your medicine cabinet? It might be doing more harm than good. Health experts now warn it slows healing by damaging healthy tissue, even though it kills bacteria. Swap it for sterile saline or plain water and soap instead. It’s also no longer recommended for acne—salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide are better.
