- 0:06Speaker 1: He's back, my brother jem alone, Welcome, Welcome, How is everything?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Glasses man? Shit, that's good.
- 0:15Speaker 1: You have the Internet by the chokehold at the moment.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I don't know how. I don't know how, I know how,
- 0:22Speaker 2: but I just don't think that's worth nothing.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I want to so, I feel like you've become such
- 0:26Speaker 1: a prevalent personality over the last couple of years with
- 0:31Speaker 1: a lot of your insight on you know, what's been
- 0:34Speaker 1: going on in hip hop, and but I kind of
- 0:37Speaker 1: want to like go back to your beginning, like for
- 0:40Speaker 1: people who don't kind of understand why you're a thing.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Before people might have found you on Twitter or found
- 0:48Speaker 1: you on your podcast or found you on a stream.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Obviously you have a extensive career in the music industry.
- 0:57Speaker 1: What year did you initially kind of, like, I guess,
- 1:01Speaker 1: would you say you kind of started taking the rap
- 1:02Speaker 1: shit serious?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Twenty nineteen?
- 1:09Speaker 1: That fuck out you said?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Serious? Okay, Okay, serious, Okay. What year did you initially
- 1:18Speaker 2: decide I wasn't gonna sell drugs no more and take
- 1:20Speaker 2: rap in two thousand and three?
- 1:21Speaker 1: Okay, So Okay, two.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Thousand and three, I knew that I realized that I
- 1:25Speaker 2: could make it in rap, in the rap business. I
- 1:29Speaker 2: knew I could create a business like I knew Sugar Night.
- 1:33Speaker 2: You know. I knew that because Sugar Night, J Prince,
- 1:36Speaker 2: all of these dudes that came from my type of
- 1:38Speaker 2: background was successful, same type of guys, you know what
- 1:42Speaker 2: I mean. I knew that I could do it, Like
- 1:44Speaker 2: it was already laid out for me, right, So it
- 1:47Speaker 2: was a matter of just figuring out how to do it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So who was kind of your first co sign or
- 1:53Speaker 1: somebody who had already kind of made it in hip
- 1:55Speaker 1: hop that kind of like put their arm around you
- 1:57Speaker 1: and kind of not necessarily you don't even gotta be
- 1:59Speaker 1: somebody signed, you were managed. You just somebody who just
- 2:02Speaker 1: Doctor Dre.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Doctor Dre became the first person that I knew in
- 2:06Speaker 2: the business that made me think that I would be Okay.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Damn, how did you how did somebody? How do you
- 2:11Speaker 1: link with Dre?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Like?
- 2:12Speaker 3: What what is the moment My older brothers uh Hit
- 2:17Speaker 3: the mother of his kids, and Doctor Dre's sister Shamika
- 2:20Speaker 3: were best friends, Okay, and I was taking music serious,
- 2:25Speaker 3: like I gave up selling shime like I kind of
- 2:28Speaker 3: conceded that I didn't want to go to prison for
- 2:30Speaker 3: it anymore.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Right, that was it. And one day he was just like,
- 2:34Speaker 2: hey man, you want to go to Doctor Dre House,
- 2:37Speaker 2: you know, for New Year's And I was like, yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Shit crazy, Yeah, of course.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I was like why not. But to be honest, I
- 2:43Speaker 2: didn't quite know what to think, because I don't when
- 2:45Speaker 2: I first got in the business, I wasn't looking for
- 2:47Speaker 2: a record deal, like I was like, oh no, I'm
- 2:49Speaker 2: gonna start my own. I was thinking death Role, you
- 2:51Speaker 2: wanted to start coming rap a lot ruthless. I was
- 2:54Speaker 2: thinking that I was trying to replace the the drug
- 2:57Speaker 2: spots that I had got away from. I was trying
- 3:00Speaker 2: to replace a business, that's all.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So is that before after you end up putting out
- 3:07Speaker 1: White Lightning, like what is kind of for before? So
- 3:12Speaker 1: you end up kind of having this run where you
- 3:16Speaker 1: you were fucking with Black Wall Street.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Kind of two thousand and four for us, Right.
- 3:21Speaker 1: So that's kind of around like a little after the
- 3:24Speaker 1: three hundred bars are running there around the same four.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So this is this is right before documentary, right before
- 3:30Speaker 2: Certified Gangsters. Damn.
- 3:32Speaker 1: So what ended up was you in Game connecting. Was
- 3:35Speaker 1: that just like he had an idea to do this label,
- 3:38Speaker 1: to do to his own version of what fifty was doing.
- 3:40Speaker 2: So they already had it movement. Yeah, they was already
- 3:44Speaker 2: starting to do their thing in the streets with mixtapes,
- 3:46Speaker 2: and they was really much bigger in New York. But
- 3:50Speaker 2: Game's brother, Face is like a genius and people don't
- 3:53Speaker 2: talk about Face a lot of Faces like probably one
- 3:57Speaker 2: of the most savvious people I ever met in hip hop.
- 4:00Speaker 2: He was on all the DVD's Game and he's a
- 4:03Speaker 2: fucking genius.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Bro.
- 4:05Speaker 2: He's like a genius. But I met them through Fox
- 4:09Speaker 2: scent Rest in Peace Folk. Being from West Side pau
- 4:12Speaker 2: he was the first guy I met from Black Wall
- 4:14Speaker 2: Street when that was a thing. So he wanted me
- 4:17Speaker 2: to meet Face, and I already knew g Rod. G
- 4:20Speaker 2: Rod was like the ultimate hustler, you know what I mean,
- 4:22Speaker 2: used to have everything for sale. Its Cedar Blocks is
- 4:25Speaker 2: one of those games where you know who they are
- 4:28Speaker 2: and you know they are substantial people if they from there, Yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 2: you know what I mean. So, but Face was like
- 4:34Speaker 2: this hip hop savant.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's it's unfortunate like they had that falling
- 4:39Speaker 1: out because it's like you always think like what could
- 4:41Speaker 1: have been Because there was so much momentu with Black
- 4:45Speaker 1: Wall Street, the brand. I felt like people were fucking
- 4:48Speaker 1: with it. And then it was like you were rock
- 4:52Speaker 1: star Juice.
- 4:53Speaker 2: That wasn't even that was later. It was me Fox
- 4:57Speaker 2: Scent Friday, I think b Fly was just coming up.
- 5:01Speaker 2: His sister. Uh, Life was this little baby that just
- 5:05Speaker 2: Life just walked over it. He was like this little kid,
- 5:08Speaker 2: I mean, like a high school kid. And yeah, it
- 5:12Speaker 2: was us, you know what I mean. And it was
- 5:15Speaker 2: all the streets. It was. It was some dope brothers,
- 5:18Speaker 2: you know, aar Recipes, Nate, you know, Fat Rat. Fat
- 5:25Speaker 2: Rat was like a jays He was super smart. Uh
- 5:30Speaker 2: all read. Mike was like this cultural phenomenon, Peanut. It
- 5:33Speaker 2: was just a bunch of really good dudes, you know
- 5:35Speaker 2: what I mean that It was like it was one
- 5:37Speaker 2: of the better experiences I ever had, you know, seeing buildings,
- 5:41Speaker 2: seeing seeing a movement being foundated.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Are you like around the sessions that turn into like
- 5:47Speaker 1: some of those like gun Not mixtapes.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Where Yeah, So that was that was after Remember this
- 5:52Speaker 2: is after the documentary that the documentary comes out gold
- 5:56Speaker 2: in the first week six hundred thousand roughly, and everything
- 6:00Speaker 2: is happening, and then uh, that started happening after at
- 6:05Speaker 2: the against the advisement of Doctor Dre and Jimmy Ivean.
- 6:09Speaker 2: So I watched that happen in real time. I watched
- 6:13Speaker 2: him record three hundred bars, so you know what I
- 6:16Speaker 2: mean all day.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I'm about to say, what's that session like, because that's.
- 6:19Speaker 2: All day he was just writing boars on the side
- 6:22Speaker 2: kid going back in there writing rapping, rapping all day.
- 6:24Speaker 2: It was like all day and I was like, this
- 6:27Speaker 2: shit is crazy for him to just be rapping like this.
- 6:30Speaker 2: And even the first gun I tape at Skis they
- 6:33Speaker 2: recorded that Ski spot and that was my first time
- 6:37Speaker 2: being off Melrose. Nobody from the East Side really you
- 6:39Speaker 2: just to go to Melrose back then, and I remember
- 6:41Speaker 2: we was just over there and he called me like, hey,
- 6:43Speaker 2: ge man, you want to get on this project? And
- 6:44Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, what you got? He's like, man, I'm
- 6:47Speaker 2: this and fifty and I'm like, nah, I want to
- 6:49Speaker 2: get on that, bro because I don't know them niggas,
- 6:52Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. And my homies like it'll
- 6:54Speaker 2: be serious, Like I felt like more responsible for my
- 6:56Speaker 2: homeboys and how protective they were of me at that time,
- 7:00Speaker 2: and what I would allow energy to go in their space.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You know, you always got them homies who ain't triping,
- 7:05Speaker 2: but you do got homies. I got homies that really
- 7:07Speaker 2: love me, Like you know what I mean. That's gonna
- 7:09Speaker 2: really push a line. So I had to be real
- 7:11Speaker 2: smart with how you use those resources and allow people
- 7:15Speaker 2: to put their life on the line for you. So
- 7:16Speaker 2: I remember telling me like, nah, I want this. Them
- 7:18Speaker 2: niggas like I don't know on Plus you know, in
- 7:20Speaker 2: my mind they looked out for you, so it makes
- 7:23Speaker 2: me feel like shit. He was like, well, shit, you
- 7:25Speaker 2: you got to get on this motherfucker he they saying,
- 7:28Speaker 2: they saying came from the gu not take the only
- 7:32Speaker 2: song where he wasn't this And.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Did you ever try to like give your input on
- 7:37Speaker 1: them beefing at all? Like, hey, hey, are you sure
- 7:39Speaker 1: we would have do that we.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Could work out? Well, I don't think they really ever
- 7:44Speaker 2: had a fifty I understand why he was mad. Game
- 7:48Speaker 2: was just showing everybody that he can see so I
- 7:52Speaker 2: didn't really I wasn't logged on man, like I didn't
- 7:57Speaker 2: really see rap beef like that, you know what I mean, Like,
- 8:01Speaker 2: I'm still so close to gang banging. Shit is happening,
- 8:04Speaker 2: you know what I mean, bullshit happening. So I'm not
- 8:05Speaker 2: even Man, it's old rap ass shit. You know what
- 8:08Speaker 2: I'm saying, I'm not even I'm so busy trying to
- 8:11Speaker 2: get it together and finish what I'm building. You know
- 8:14Speaker 2: what I'm saying that I'm not even tripping off of it.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You know, some niggas rapping against each other.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Like that, How long do you think you say it
- 8:19Speaker 1: was an all day session for him to do three
- 8:21Speaker 1: hundred bars around.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It had to probably be about seven eight hours.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Man, such a legendary.
- 8:27Speaker 2: He was walking out, niggas is chopping it up, and
- 8:29Speaker 2: they could be riding in his side kicking all that.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Then he walked back in there and wrapped some more
- 8:34Speaker 2: like he just was rapping it all day.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You end up linking up with who banging cash money
- 8:44Speaker 1: at the time. I mean, obviously mac ten had banger
- 8:47Speaker 1: Ball and had his partnership with cash Money, So you
- 8:51Speaker 1: I guess you were the second West Coast guy to
- 8:53Speaker 1: come out through cash Money.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Probably the third because I think TQ was there.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they had the TQ album.
- 8:58Speaker 2: TQ from Compton was there. Yeah, Yeah, I forgot about
- 9:01Speaker 2: t K my boy Jack from He's Coast. You know
- 9:03Speaker 2: what I'm saying. He wasn't a rapper, but he was.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Was mac ten kind of like the variable that kind
- 9:09Speaker 1: of brought music, yeah, over to the cash Money site.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But initially it wasn't even gonna be with cash Money.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Initially it was gonna be with Tom Walli that signed
- 9:18Speaker 2: Tupac to inter score. Just the bad meeting kind of
- 9:22Speaker 2: ruined it. But they he ended up sending music over
- 9:26Speaker 2: to Stunner and Stunner just and Wayne and just thought
- 9:29Speaker 2: it was great. And you know, Jack told him what
- 9:33Speaker 2: type of dude I was and how I grew up
- 9:35Speaker 2: culturally and ship and they just fucked with that. Yeah,
- 9:38Speaker 2: they just thought it was great, you know what I'm saying.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And Certified worked really well, the.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Great record, great akon Hook.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and Tump on the beat, tomp is on
- 9:49Speaker 2: fire at the time, good doing all the TI Kanye
- 9:53Speaker 2: you know, can't tell me nothing like he was just
- 9:55Speaker 2: killing and it worked, doubt, but then it became everything else.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And to be honest, I didn't know about making no
- 10:04Speaker 2: records and none of that shit, bro, Like I just was,
- 10:07Speaker 2: I wasn't savvy on being a rapper, right, I just
- 10:10Speaker 2: knew how to run a business. I knew how to
- 10:12Speaker 2: conduct myself. I knew how to you know, get down.
- 10:15Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. But being a real record
- 10:18Speaker 2: maker and a rapper is a real special thing, you
- 10:21Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. It's not especially at a professional level.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And it I ain't like just rapping bars, right, you
- 10:27Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Like, you better know something. If
- 10:29Speaker 2: your produc unless your producer know something, you better know something.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Is that why you say you started taking a series
- 10:35Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen. Do you feel like you figured like
- 10:37Speaker 1: something click?
- 10:38Speaker 2: In terms of it took a long time man, two
- 10:40Speaker 2: thousand eleven of two thousand nineteen, just learning what hip
- 10:44Speaker 2: hop was.
- 10:44Speaker 1: And you had a great run cause you had the situation.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Sure I made a bunch of money, but no, like
- 10:52Speaker 2: it wasn't It was tortuous, you know what I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 2: because a lot of times I felt like I was
- 10:58Speaker 2: in a dark And and Birdman and Wayne and Cortez
- 11:03Speaker 2: and MacMahon and Slim and they you know, Universe, they
- 11:06Speaker 2: just did great. They was awesome. You know what I mean.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It was just certain things I didn't know, and that's
- 11:14Speaker 2: your responsibility as a record maker, unless it is like
- 11:17Speaker 2: for real or many Fresh Now Manny Fresh is there
- 11:19Speaker 2: looks a little different, right, Manny Fresh knows about records, right,
- 11:23Speaker 2: But man, it was like, uh it was it was.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I had a great time. I learned so much, man,
- 11:31Speaker 2: Like I can't even speak to how great stunner Man was, like, woo.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You already know, baby, are family at odd Socks. They

- 11:55Speaker 1: the only socks in my house. And obviously there's eating
- 12:00Speaker 1: brands that might you might be used to wearing the
- 12:02Speaker 1: white tube socks. Listen, not only are these better, they're
- 12:06Speaker 1: more affordable and they're more comfortable. And when I say
- 12:09Speaker 1: more affordable, I'm not playing. You could get yourself a

- 12:48Speaker 1: dot com use the promo code bootleg save twenty percent off.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Let's get back into the interview. Well, I mean you
- 12:53Speaker 1: were able to put out like a bunch of I'm
- 12:55Speaker 1: sure a bunch of the records from that period after
- 12:59Speaker 1: you left, right, Like some of those records I'm sure
- 13:01Speaker 1: on beach cruises that ended up coming out on some noise.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Were any of those records like stuff that were like nah,
- 13:07Speaker 1: it was all new stuff. It was all new stuff.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So the stuff with like I had put out a
- 13:16Speaker 2: lot of stuff with Wayne, stuff with Stunner, you know,
- 13:20Speaker 2: stuff with everybody from over there. It was just like
- 13:24Speaker 2: it wasn't that like making a record is a very
- 13:26Speaker 2: particular thing. It ain't like, uh, just making a song.
- 13:31Speaker 2: It's like a magical thing and it's it's really hard
- 13:34Speaker 2: to explain, but it's like something you just know, and
- 13:37Speaker 2: you know, people are really scientific at it. The guys
- 13:40Speaker 2: are like for for Real or Swiss or Timlin or Dre.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You know, it's definitely a producer slash DJ's game. And
- 13:53Speaker 2: I think the greatest mistake, you know, hip hop may
- 13:55Speaker 2: was actually trusting the rappers and not the DJ slash
- 13:59Speaker 2: producers first, because that's the band, that's the record, that's
- 14:02Speaker 2: the music. And I think I'm I'm a perfect example
- 14:06Speaker 2: of what happens when you get in the business and
- 14:08Speaker 2: you have a business mind, but you really don't know
- 14:11Speaker 2: what the record business is about. You know about you
- 14:14Speaker 2: know about business, but you don't know about records. So
- 14:17Speaker 2: you better have like I could make the business work
- 14:19Speaker 2: in my sleep. But then the record side is you know,
- 14:24Speaker 2: it's first, that's it's the first word of record business.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I mean it's like I think it like you had
- 14:28Speaker 1: that good that was a DJ head beat.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Sure, but that's when we started to So when I
- 14:33Speaker 2: first the first thing I learned twenty eleven, when I
- 14:35Speaker 2: kind of like people don't get while I walked away
- 14:38Speaker 2: from cash Money, it was like imagine being somewhere and
- 14:41Speaker 2: you felt like you a drain. Nobody treating you like
- 14:43Speaker 2: you're a drain on the economy, nobody giving you shit,
- 14:47Speaker 2: nobody's saying nothing, but you realize the shit you're putting
- 14:51Speaker 2: out not connecting something you missing, but you know you
- 14:55Speaker 2: don't know, Yeah, like you kinda they trying they best.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I swear to guy like that nigga trying his best,
- 15:02Speaker 2: but it's like shit not lining up. So you know,
- 15:06Speaker 2: it became like I need to figure this out. So
- 15:08Speaker 2: before I even like, I didn't just walk away like
- 15:11Speaker 2: I wasn't not in my contract in twenty fifteen, but
- 15:13Speaker 2: I was telling Stunning like y'all need to try some
- 15:15Speaker 2: stuff on my own.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Let me get this indie shit popping. Let me figure
- 15:18Speaker 1: some shit out, you know.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And the first thing I learned, what I started learning
- 15:22Speaker 2: about was records and a bunch of research. You know,
- 15:27Speaker 2: tons of research, tons of research once head making head
- 15:31Speaker 2: of DJ ended up paying off real well because he
- 15:33Speaker 2: was the first person that explained BPMS to me. Yeah,
- 15:36Speaker 2: and when I understood DPMs, it's sent me down like
- 15:39Speaker 2: a rabbit hole, like send me in a spiral and
- 15:41Speaker 2: then down a rabbit hole. And then I started realizing
- 15:43Speaker 2: how much samples mattered and how much stuff I thought
- 15:46Speaker 2: was like this original idea, and it was really like
- 15:49Speaker 2: this other idea and it just lasted for weeks. So
- 15:53Speaker 2: when I came back to the studio, I was like, Yo,
- 15:55Speaker 2: you're supposed to make my first You're supposed to make
- 15:58Speaker 2: my record. And he was like, nig I'll know how
- 16:00Speaker 2: to make no beats. I'm like, yeah, but you just
- 16:03Speaker 2: played exactly your DJ and hip hop. He just looked
- 16:06Speaker 2: at me crazy, like I had to almost threaten to
- 16:08Speaker 2: hit him, like, bro, I'm telling you, historically the way
- 16:12Speaker 2: this thing worked, you supposed to make the record. And
- 16:15Speaker 2: I'm like, it ain't like you got to push every button, Nigga.
- 16:17Speaker 2: We got a studio full of dudes who know how
- 16:20Speaker 2: the button's supposed to be pushed. Just tell them and
- 16:23Speaker 2: it's gonna work. And he had just thought I was crazy.
- 16:25Speaker 2: He was like, man, I ain't. I'm like, trust me, bro,
- 16:28Speaker 2: Like this is how it worked because at this point
- 16:31Speaker 2: I didne went back and studied, you know, everything that
- 16:34Speaker 2: you could study, and I'm like, okay, yeah, Doctor Dre
- 16:37Speaker 2: is this person DJ you know, Eric Bee was Rock
- 16:40Speaker 2: Kim's DJ, all these guys, you know what I mean,
- 16:43Speaker 2: these were the DJs. And he just thought I was crazy.
- 16:47Speaker 2: And the first beat he made was that good.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Crazy first you had that record and what was the
- 16:56Speaker 1: record that? That album?
- 16:59Speaker 2: But but he didn't make that, tom Tommy made that,
- 17:03Speaker 2: But it's like the first beat he had made because
- 17:06Speaker 2: I was staying true to hip hop. Became my first
- 17:09Speaker 2: gold record and probably my most classic West Coast raps.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Fire were you uh Nervous to redo the six in
- 17:16Speaker 1: the Morning record? And obviously Ice t ends up on it,
- 17:18Speaker 1: but like that's like one of those pivotal pillars of
- 17:21Speaker 1: like gangster rap, fuck West Coast rap, just gangster rap.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Like you know what, I didn't even think about it
- 17:26Speaker 2: like that, bro, Like all I thought about was putting
- 17:29Speaker 2: Ice T and Snoop together. I realized my whole life
- 17:31Speaker 2: the two the god of gangster rap. If Ice Tea
- 17:37Speaker 2: is the god of gangster rap, Ice Cube is the
- 17:40Speaker 2: holy spirited gangster Rap, and Snoop Dogg is the motherfucker
- 17:45Speaker 2: Jesus against the Savior, you know what I'm saying. So
- 17:49Speaker 2: I realized Ice Tea is Snoop never had a record,
- 17:52Speaker 2: which is fucking and that became the whole purpose of
- 17:55Speaker 2: getting the record. Dumbs like y'all need to put these
- 17:57Speaker 2: two pillars of gangster rap on the same record. And
- 18:01Speaker 2: I would have tried for Cube, but you know that
- 18:03Speaker 2: was gonna be a whole nother Did you try? No? No,
- 18:06Speaker 2: I still no, But that would have been to me
- 18:09Speaker 2: putting together the trinity like of gangster rep. In my mind,
- 18:13Speaker 2: what is uh?
- 18:14Speaker 1: I think I don't think we's talking enough about, uh,
- 18:17Speaker 1: how important mac ten is and how you know, as
- 18:22Speaker 1: a CEO, as an A and R, as somebody who's
- 18:25Speaker 1: just a real I mean, if you just look at
- 18:27Speaker 1: his his finger you know, his fingerprints and all the
- 18:30Speaker 1: things that all the careers he's helped touch and all
- 18:32Speaker 1: the things he's done, and like he's you know, I
- 18:35Speaker 1: was lucky enough to interview him a couple years ago
- 18:36Speaker 1: because I feel like he's pretty elusive. He's out the way.
- 18:39Speaker 1: He might pop up on the show here and there,
- 18:40Speaker 1: but mac Ten's kind of out the way. But can
- 18:43Speaker 1: you just speak to mac Ten and and his legacy
- 18:46Speaker 1: and how just important he's kind of been to just
- 18:49Speaker 1: hip hop in general, bridging gaps. I think about the
- 18:51Speaker 1: Thicker than Water movie with him in Fat Joe and
- 18:53Speaker 1: just there's just so much he did he's done over
- 18:55Speaker 1: the years.
- 18:56Speaker 2: As funny is that was supposed to be him and
- 18:58Speaker 2: Snoop really crazy, right, he was gonna do a deal
- 19:02Speaker 2: with Snoop. Oh I think we.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Might have talked about that. Yeah, oh yeah, he was
- 19:07Speaker 1: gonna sign Snoop to who bank?
- 19:09Speaker 2: It was gonna put out I'm called fuck de Bro
- 19:11Speaker 2: And that would have created all kind of havoc. That's
- 19:14Speaker 2: why I say, man dog dog discernment is I know
- 19:17Speaker 2: God got his hand on that motherfucker, because you know
- 19:20Speaker 2: he didn't. And I but he does take the blessing
- 19:23Speaker 2: serious and he tries his best to be a decent person.
- 19:25Speaker 2: That's why I'm glad things work out for him. Oh
- 19:29Speaker 2: but mac Ten is like this is the perfect eraror
- 19:31Speaker 2: for mak Ten.
- 19:33Speaker 1: What do you mean by that?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Right now? Yeah? Because one thing that mac Tin is
- 19:36Speaker 2: really dope at is making sure what you see is
- 19:39Speaker 2: the part. He's like the best I ever met at that,
- 19:42Speaker 2: like better than anybody. He knew how to make it
- 19:45Speaker 2: look the part. Now making records is not necessarily he
- 19:48Speaker 2: ain't no damn djil, no producer, But I'm talking about
- 19:51Speaker 2: culturally putting on a demonstration. He's the best. It's funny.
- 19:56Speaker 2: He just put together Tudor brown Cadillac, right, and this
- 20:00Speaker 2: is Cadillac. It's like everything, oh em, it's rebuilt, but
- 20:03Speaker 2: it's got all of the ninety euro shit. He had
- 20:06Speaker 2: to wait years and years to find brand new head
- 20:09Speaker 2: likes that match because you know, they stopped making Cadillac parts,
- 20:13Speaker 2: so he had to find you know, parts all over
- 20:15Speaker 2: the world on shells and so it just looks like
- 20:18Speaker 2: this brand new Cadillac, except it's not brand new. And
- 20:21Speaker 2: the one Rick Ross low ride of the year car
- 20:23Speaker 2: show and motherfuckers was tripping and that one car ended
- 20:27Speaker 2: up being like his greatest marketing tool over the last
- 20:31Speaker 2: like five months. So this is to me like his
- 20:34Speaker 2: error where he was shine because it's more about what
- 20:36Speaker 2: you see versus what you hear. Yeah, that's real, Like
- 20:40Speaker 2: when you see Mac Mac is Mac ten, you know
- 20:43Speaker 2: he right now, even as a as a as a,
- 20:46Speaker 2: as a as an older statesman, He's still Mac ten,
- 20:50Speaker 2: right like he just he just understand how to make
- 20:53Speaker 2: him and Richie rich they they the best at making
- 20:55Speaker 2: it looked the part.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Richie rich is one of the effortlessly coolest motherfuck's
- 21:00Speaker 1: all the planet.
- 21:00Speaker 2: And that's Macan like that. Yeah, Richard rich came in here,
- 21:06Speaker 2: was on a trillion. He won't even try him and
- 21:08Speaker 2: Magan is like that. They're like full aura, you know
- 21:12Speaker 2: what I mean, just animals. So but Mac is like
- 21:14Speaker 2: one of the best at making it look the poor.
- 21:16Speaker 2: He understands marketing at this very visual level.
- 21:20Speaker 1: All right, so fast forward. Uh you the last time
- 21:25Speaker 1: I want to say you came on the show was
- 21:28Speaker 1: around the time you dropped what was before your album
- 21:31Speaker 1: came out?
- 21:31Speaker 2: I think, yeah, it was before canceled.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but we were talking about the Tupac record. What
- 21:38Speaker 1: are your thoughts on the trial is finally happening for
- 21:42Speaker 1: his murder? Obviously you have the song that was Tupac
- 21:45Speaker 1: Deserved to Die Tupac Must Die, which obviously was a
- 21:50Speaker 1: perspective from the crips for people who are triggered.
- 21:54Speaker 2: It was just apective of the well, the guys that
- 21:58Speaker 2: got jumped, right, the guys who got jumped right, right right.
- 22:01Speaker 1: So if you get jumped in a casino, Tupac must die.
- 22:05Speaker 2: You know.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That was kind of the angle was conceptual record But people.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Are stupid, yeah, well emotional.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Emotionally yes, they're emotionally true. Nonetheless, what are your thoughts
- 22:19Speaker 1: on just obviously I feel like this is one of
- 22:22Speaker 1: the this is probably the biggest example of someone going
- 22:27Speaker 1: on like a media run that results them being put
- 22:31Speaker 1: in prison and you know, now facing a murder charge
- 22:34Speaker 1: for you know, the most important rapper ever possibly. What
- 22:38Speaker 1: are your thoughts just on on the fact that we're
- 22:40Speaker 1: finally getting a trial and just the whole kid angle,
- 22:42Speaker 1: And like, I've never seen somebody kind of like, I guess,
- 22:46Speaker 1: like clout themselves into a cell in such.
- 22:49Speaker 2: A very aggressive way. I mean, I hope the best
- 22:54Speaker 2: for Keith, you know. I mean I'm one of those
- 22:56Speaker 2: people that feel like when people play in the streets,
- 22:58Speaker 2: it should be in the streets, right, you know what
- 23:00Speaker 2: I'm saying, So I really don't, you know, I hope
- 23:03Speaker 2: the best for him. I definitely don't think, yeah, yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 2: my mom knew him. Cool dude though, But I don't
- 23:11Speaker 2: really you know, whatever it's gonna be is what it's
- 23:14Speaker 2: gonna be. But I don't think that him doing interviews
- 23:17Speaker 2: for entertainment should be used in a quarter law as
- 23:20Speaker 2: some kind of convictional piece or some like they shouldn't
- 23:23Speaker 2: be made a convicting because of some fucking interviews. That
- 23:25Speaker 2: shit just lame. But he did write a job, but
- 23:28Speaker 2: I mean, that's a book. It's just entertainment, right, I mean,
- 23:32Speaker 2: so it's like, I don't know if that's wise for
- 23:37Speaker 2: us to start advocating for people's entertainment to create foot trails,
- 23:41Speaker 2: because it I don't know.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I think it's like we're in this weird space where
- 23:48Speaker 1: like there's like a whole side of whatever. Yeah, you're
- 23:53Speaker 1: in the space now too for me, in side where
- 23:55Speaker 1: people will be like, oh, it's just content, everything is content.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I ain't making no content.
- 23:59Speaker 1: And then and there's like the other side of it
- 24:01Speaker 1: where it's like, okay, you gotta be very careful, and
- 24:04Speaker 1: then like you know, I feel like there is kind
- 24:06Speaker 1: of if you're somebody who's got an interesting perspective on
- 24:11Speaker 1: anything historical and you're kind of watching. You know, Vlad
- 24:15Speaker 1: is very good at interviewing, like a security guard or
- 24:19Speaker 1: like an engineer who was in the studio for this
- 24:21Speaker 1: or whatever it is. You might be like, oh shit,
- 24:24Speaker 1: I got something to say. I was near it, you know,
- 24:28Speaker 1: let me he find the motherfucker so good at finding them.
- 24:31Speaker 2: A fan of ambulance driving, Oh shit, god.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Like, I mean, it's it's been a great business model
- 24:37Speaker 1: for him obviously, But I think like if you're like
- 24:39Speaker 1: a KEYPD, maybe you kind of see that kind of
- 24:41Speaker 1: shit and you're like, oh man, I got the real story,
- 24:43Speaker 1: Like I would like.
- 24:44Speaker 2: To believe Keith was just hustling bullshit though, Yeah, I mean,
- 24:50Speaker 2: we'll see, you know what I'm saying, Like, I don't,
- 24:52Speaker 2: I don't know. I do think it's lame that they're
- 24:55Speaker 2: trying to use any level of entertainment to convict him
- 24:58Speaker 2: on Like that's probably not wise at all.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I think, like, I think there's a fine line
- 25:05Speaker 1: between having proof kind of differentiating what was entertainment, what
- 25:11Speaker 1: was sensationalized, and what was actually like provable.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Sure, and I think that they should still have to
- 25:18Speaker 2: do it the correct way.
- 25:20Speaker 1: But I mean, look, we're in this new era man,
- 25:21Speaker 1: where everybody's lyrics are getting used and it's kind of crazy,
- 25:24Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of a new normal.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't. Yeah, nah, I'm not fucking with
- 25:31Speaker 2: that cause is I just need to see it work
- 25:34Speaker 2: on some white people. Get When I see it work
- 25:35Speaker 2: on some white people, I'd be good. Yeah. I mean, listen,
- 25:38Speaker 2: I'm sure Donald Trump is shit. It ain't working on
- 25:40Speaker 2: no white people.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Well, I mean yeah, the Trump shit is is is
- 25:44Speaker 1: insane by the way it.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Once I see it work on somebody else, like anything
- 25:50Speaker 2: work on black people here in America, like you could
- 25:52Speaker 2: do anything to them, and it's just gonna be good.
- 25:54Speaker 1: The j Wick guy just got picked up for a murder.
- 25:57Speaker 1: But I don't think he rapped about it. I think
- 25:58Speaker 1: they just do. It was like a he shot somebody
- 26:01Speaker 1: I went to call a murder. Maybe it ends up
- 26:03Speaker 1: being a man slaughter, But I don't know. If you
- 26:04Speaker 1: know Jay wikes, no white dude got signed from Empire.
- 26:08Speaker 1: They just picked him up for like a shooting.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Is that the kid in Saint Louis.
- 26:13Speaker 1: He had that song pork chopped sandwich.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Oh no, oh uh, everybody talk about make that be
- 26:18Speaker 2: there because he put hot sauce on the sandwich. Like, bro,
- 26:20Speaker 2: every I hate when oh man.
- 26:23Speaker 1: You hate when white people get credit for something.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Everybody does, oh man, he but boy, he put hot
- 26:29Speaker 2: sauce on the pork chop sound. Everybody puts hot sauce
- 26:32Speaker 2: on a pork chop.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Sound. But because he looks the way, it was.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Like, it's a white man. It's like, you know, if
- 26:38Speaker 2: a white man do anything, they'd be like, hey, he's
- 26:40Speaker 2: just barbecue cookout man. But then that's sad for homie man.
- 26:45Speaker 2: He looked like he had a promising thing going.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Talk to me man. Obviously, the last few years has
- 26:52Speaker 1: been like an amazing time to be I would say
- 26:56Speaker 1: from the West Coast in terms of like the Kendrick
- 27:00Speaker 1: Drake thing has kind of resulted in like a lot
- 27:02Speaker 1: of people getting flowers and kind of you know, I
- 27:06Speaker 1: feel like somebody like DJ Head, who is such a
- 27:09Speaker 1: pivotal part of West Coast and LA culture and has
- 27:12Speaker 1: been like a hero for years here, I feel like,
- 27:16Speaker 1: finally nationally he started to get a lot of the
- 27:20Speaker 1: love and recognition that he deserves from outlets that might
- 27:22Speaker 1: not have given it to him before just because of
- 27:24Speaker 1: how close of a source he was to the biggest
- 27:27Speaker 1: hip hop beef ever for you, you also have kind
- 27:31Speaker 1: of come out of that specific conflict because of your insight,
- 27:37Speaker 1: right and because of your proximity to the situation or
- 27:40Speaker 1: to parties involved with a much larger profile and a
- 27:45Speaker 1: lot more attention. How have you dealt with that? And
- 27:49Speaker 1: it like it's kind of crazy like that beef. It's
- 27:52Speaker 1: still kind of low key, still kind of rings off,
- 27:55Speaker 1: Like every couple of weeks, you know, there'll be a
- 27:56Speaker 1: time where you'll be like, right now, we're kind of
- 27:58Speaker 1: in the middle of one of those situation suations.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Shit to me, it's just Thursday. I know that sounds crazy.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I try to accept it. Make oh man, it's some
- 28:09Speaker 2: wonderful happening. It's like, bro, like this Thursday, like when
- 28:13Speaker 2: you know, when I was just a regular gang member.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You know, when I would say something, it would mean something.
- 28:17Speaker 2: If I did a business thing, if I if I
- 28:20Speaker 2: gave you know, if I bagged up four hundred and
- 28:22Speaker 2: fifty dollars off a pound of week instead eight fifty.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I was getting talked about so like God just designed
- 28:29Speaker 2: it that way. My mind keeps me in some bullshit,
- 28:32Speaker 2: you know what I mean? And my thoughts. The head
- 28:35Speaker 2: didn't mean the world to me, you know That's yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I love that nigga, so I want him to have
- 28:39Speaker 2: anything that he wants in his life. But I just
- 28:42Speaker 2: feel as odd sometimes I don't like it. What I
- 28:45Speaker 2: don't like is that now any of my opinion attributed
- 28:48Speaker 2: to a conversation is rooted in I don't like him.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Like when I first again, I was coming out of
- 28:54Speaker 2: that whole sabbatical about learning hip hop from twenty eleven nineteen,
- 28:58Speaker 2: and I came here one of the first and earliest
- 29:01Speaker 2: places I've explained why Drake wasn't hip hop. You said it,
- 29:06Speaker 2: and you argued about it, right, and it was before
- 29:07Speaker 2: the battle, and I'm like, it was way before that, yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, he's just not a street durban
- 29:12Speaker 2: culture and you could tell there's an infinity, and I
- 29:14Speaker 2: fuck would do you could tell I grew I came
- 29:16Speaker 2: in a say, through the same program as him, and
- 29:18Speaker 2: a thousand different things. But ever since the battle was like, Okay, well,
- 29:22Speaker 2: Kendrick is his boy.
- 29:24Speaker 1: So anything you say is rooted in that, even in
- 29:29Speaker 1: all the situations.
- 29:30Speaker 2: So it's like, I don't like that part. I don't
- 29:32Speaker 2: like my intellect to be played with, you know what
- 29:34Speaker 2: I mean, or to be emotionalized, like I'm saying this
- 29:37Speaker 2: because of emotion. Like, yeah, I'm biased, but that like
- 29:40Speaker 2: to say somebody's not hip hop is not a slight
- 29:42Speaker 2: against them.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think that you and I kind
- 29:48Speaker 1: of butt heads over that because I was like, yo,
- 29:49Speaker 1: like he makes hip hop music, Like he's a rapper
- 29:52Speaker 1: a hip hop music Okay, he was, he makes rap music.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yes, sometimes correct, But I.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Think that when you and I better heads over the
- 30:02Speaker 1: I mean this was twenty twenty one or whatever it was.
- 30:06Speaker 1: You I at tapped you in the middle of in
- 30:08Speaker 1: the beginning of the battle, and I was like, I.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Get it down because because there is something, you know,
- 30:15Speaker 2: what's fun. But what I realized keV over this whole
- 30:18Speaker 2: time because it's not really just simple. This is the
- 30:21Speaker 2: only thing. Everybody just watered down. What do you mean,
- 30:27Speaker 2: like hip hop is nothing? Like you know what I mean,
- 30:31Speaker 2: It's nothing, Okay, Like imagine you went through an authentic
- 30:35Speaker 2: Mexican food place and everybody there was just black and like,
- 30:40Speaker 2: just not to say niggas can't cook, I'm just saying
- 30:45Speaker 2: something would be missing.
- 30:46Speaker 1: You'd be like I mean the food is good, but
- 30:49Speaker 1: something it's.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Not so I feel like and you would know it.
- 30:54Speaker 2: It would be really hard for you to take it
- 30:55Speaker 2: serious as authentic.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Shout out to our brothers A hard Dean man Ought's family.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Of course, they've been sponsoring the podcast for years now.
- 31:03Speaker 1: You've been seeing the mic flag for years now. Want
- 31:06Speaker 1: to give a shout out to our brothers. I just
- 31:07Speaker 1: was in Vegas. I had to pull up all right. Look,
- 31:09Speaker 1: it's the number one dispensary in the world. When I
- 31:12Speaker 1: tell you, walk in that thing and the BUTD tenders
- 31:15Speaker 1: are great. They take care of you immediately. The selection
- 31:18Speaker 1: is great. So when you go to Vegas, you get
- 31:20Speaker 1: into that cab, you get into that uber immediately, say
- 31:23Speaker 1: take me to Hardean. Don't know what they're doing, all right,
- 31:25Speaker 1: they go get you right, all right, the number one
- 31:27Speaker 1: premium cannabis dispensary in the world. They just got me right.
- 31:30Speaker 1: I was just in town for Raffi's birthday. Had to
- 31:33Speaker 1: pull up, get right, this nice little one on one
- 31:36Speaker 1: Hardeing jersey. These are not available, all right. Shout to
- 31:40Speaker 1: them man, all right, salute to the family. Follow him
- 31:42Speaker 1: on Instagram. Harding Underscore Las Vegas. All right, let's get
- 31:44Speaker 1: back to the podcast. And obviously his upbringing, despite his
- 31:49Speaker 1: father being from Memphis and being a black hole call brother. Uh,
- 31:54Speaker 1: he wasn't raised.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Culturally correct and nor was his proximity, which is fine
- 32:01Speaker 2: because it don't change that anybody can make rap music,
- 32:05Speaker 2: like rapping is a style that was popularized by hip hop,
- 32:08Speaker 2: like it even existed before hip hop. So even during
- 32:12Speaker 2: the battle, that's the thing that I was betting on.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I'm like, Bro, you're dealing with like a real cultural phenomenon,
- 32:19Speaker 2: Like I get he don't come across doc, comes across Hella,
- 32:25Speaker 2: clean cut, you know pop and you know clean you know,
- 32:29Speaker 2: Oh he's good. Guys, Like, Bro, this dude is like
- 32:33Speaker 2: some ship.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Well I think we came out of twenty twenty four
- 32:37Speaker 1: just being like, oh, Kendrick's a psycho.
- 32:39Speaker 2: And That's what I've been saying this whole time. I'm like, Yo,
- 32:42Speaker 2: y'all don't know this dude, Like he's a real yo.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I was. I was driving from fucking La to to
- 32:49Speaker 1: Phoenix and uh, I'm by Morongo Casino and this is
- 32:58Speaker 1: fucking right after what was the joint the I don't
- 33:03Speaker 1: know what for? No, No, no. This is right after
- 33:06Speaker 1: the fucking where he crushes the van the video Family
- 33:09Speaker 1: Matters comes out. So I call Head and I was like, oh,
- 33:13Speaker 1: he really he don't got nothing, because the day Free
- 33:15Speaker 1: Shit was when I was like, oh this guy, dog,
- 33:17Speaker 1: he ain't got nothing. He's just saying ship the same shit.
- 33:20Speaker 1: And me and Head were talking, get off the phone, Head,
- 33:25Speaker 1: my Twitter start getting learnt on Twitter. I'm like, that
- 33:27Speaker 1: says this full drop Andrew. Okay, Oh it's.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Real maniac Bruhnigo maniac.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Me and Head on the phone just while the fuck
- 33:37Speaker 1: out like this is crazy.
- 33:38Speaker 2: That was cool, Broke. I was like, this shit just
- 33:39Speaker 2: took a turn. One of the craziest nights in hip
- 33:42Speaker 2: hop history.
- 33:43Speaker 1: But when he did meet the Grams, it was like
- 33:46Speaker 1: it was like the most like I don't know, like
- 33:50Speaker 1: if you've seen Obsession, you know, the new movie. It
- 33:52Speaker 1: was just the most like eerie horror movie version of
- 33:55Speaker 1: a rap song ever where you're just like, oh, he
- 33:58Speaker 1: just sucked the whole life out of the dude who
- 34:01Speaker 1: had everyone's change in the video.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I'm so proud of that performance. Man, that just that
- 34:05Speaker 2: whole run of the battle.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Do you think it matters because this is what I say, right,
- 34:11Speaker 1: I think that we are two years removed from the
- 34:14Speaker 1: peak of that situation, and I look at like some
- 34:20Speaker 1: of the bigger battles in history and some of the
- 34:24Speaker 1: half truths or speculative bars that have, you know, gone
- 34:29Speaker 1: over on a lot of people. Do you think it
- 34:31Speaker 1: matters that in hindsight, we never knew if Drake had
- 34:36Speaker 1: the secret?
- 34:37Speaker 2: Kid man, I'm one of those people, bro, and this
- 34:41Speaker 2: could be to my this could be an issue for me.
- 34:43Speaker 2: I don't give a fuck.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Bro.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Did you make him look like a fool? Oh for sure?
- 34:47Speaker 2: And I guess I never don't get me wrong. Like
- 34:50Speaker 2: I saw in a push battle, you know what I mean,
- 34:53Speaker 2: like it made it crazy when it was like, oh
- 34:55Speaker 2: this shit eerie, Oh.
- 34:56Speaker 1: No, the push of t shit like fucked up a
- 34:58Speaker 1: whole entire Adida's role and he exposed your child for you.
- 35:02Speaker 2: But I don't think I ever figured out if you know, if.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Pak was a fucking faith.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Or like going back to kroris one and and Shan right, like, Bro,
- 35:17Speaker 2: it doesn't matter, it can, but it don't happen. I don't.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I don't know if jay well, you don't know if
- 35:23Speaker 1: jay Z actually left a condom on NAS's car seat.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Yes. So it's like some of this stuff is like
- 35:32Speaker 2: I'm starting to believe and I don't know if it's
- 35:34Speaker 2: something wrong with me, but people are way too vested.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Like if people feel like I was vested, I'm like, bro,
- 35:39Speaker 2: I'm going to go live my life tomorrow. Like I'm
- 35:41Speaker 2: not tripping, like I know the parties involved, but like
- 35:45Speaker 2: all of these things mean something to people. So but
- 35:49Speaker 2: for me, man, I don't really give a fuck. Man,
- 35:51Speaker 2: I don't care. I just don't care.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Was there ever a point in time or a time
- 35:54Speaker 1: in which you reflected and you felt sorry for Drake? No?
- 35:59Speaker 2: Sometimes, okay, because we come from the same program, bro,
- 36:02Speaker 2: And like people every day, some asshole fake staying because
- 36:07Speaker 2: they're not real fans. Bro, some asshole stand pulls up
- 36:10Speaker 2: a good thing I said about Drake, and I'm like, Bro,
- 36:12Speaker 2: I actually rooted for this dude. I actually want him
- 36:15Speaker 2: to be successful. He's successful.
- 36:17Speaker 1: He's an incredible talent, generationally talented.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Man, one of the greatest right, one of the greatest
- 36:21Speaker 2: pop record makers in the history of and.
- 36:24Speaker 1: One of the greatest rappers of all time. He's one
- 36:29Speaker 1: of the yes rappers.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, it's hard because it's like.
- 36:33Speaker 1: No matter how you rank him, you can rank him
- 36:35Speaker 1: in your top thirty.
- 36:36Speaker 2: He is one of the Yeah, yeah, he is a
- 36:40Speaker 2: quality MC. I mean he can rap, he can do
- 36:44Speaker 2: all of the things. It's just.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Something's missing for you, not even not.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Even something missing. It's like it's nothing wrong with him.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Him saying like it's nothing that it's just somebody that
- 37:00Speaker 2: had a pop program from the beginning, just kind of
- 37:03Speaker 2: you know, when I'm comparing it to the guys like
- 37:05Speaker 2: jay Z or Scarface where it's just them and their
- 37:07Speaker 2: writing and they have a beat and they just versus
- 37:10Speaker 2: you know, his understanding is like his understanding was further
- 37:15Speaker 2: than most people have ever seen coming to me.
- 37:16Speaker 1: It's the same guy who like his first viral freestyle
- 37:19Speaker 1: was reading off of a BlackBerry, which pop he normalized that.
- 37:23Speaker 2: You, I mean, that wasn't a thing that anyone ever did,
- 37:25Speaker 2: like and you didn't do that right, And so it's
- 37:26Speaker 2: like it's nothing wrong with it. Like he for sure
- 37:29Speaker 2: is again he can rap his ass off. He's a
- 37:32Speaker 2: tremendous MC. It's none of those things. I'm just saying.
- 37:36Speaker 2: It gives off like I have to take into account,
- 37:38Speaker 2: like he approaches it like a pop musician, meaning like
- 37:43Speaker 2: he may didn't write this, you know, versus where we
- 37:46Speaker 2: look at some artists and hip hop and they got older,
- 37:48Speaker 2: mean like fifteen years and they finally getting some help.
- 37:50Speaker 2: It's just different. But yes, he's a tremendous rapper and
- 37:55Speaker 2: a fantastic m see and just more than anything, one
- 37:58Speaker 2: of the greatest record makers in the history of the
- 37:59Speaker 2: record business.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Had you ever met Drake before, Yes, positive interactions always, Yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Not a bad dude. It's just all this shit just
- 38:10Speaker 2: went fucked him up. Man.
- 38:12Speaker 1: You know, it's interesting because it's like what made Drake
- 38:14Speaker 1: dope to me in the beginning was like he was
- 38:17Speaker 1: a relatable guy. He's just a normal, like nerdy dude
- 38:20Speaker 1: who could sing and rap and he was cool. He
- 38:21Speaker 1: wasn't trying to be anybody. He wasn't. And then there
- 38:23Speaker 1: was like the switch where it was like mob ties
- 38:27Speaker 1: and like you know, and it just it's like he's
- 38:31Speaker 1: hanging out with a lot bruh's, like you know, and
- 38:33Speaker 1: like from.
- 38:33Speaker 2: The streets, and he's leaning into some of that. Fine,
- 38:37Speaker 2: but it became a little less and I think that's
- 38:40Speaker 2: kind of and even when that was happening, right, I
- 38:42Speaker 2: didn't really trip. I'm like, yeah, whatever, I guess at
- 38:45Speaker 2: that I just didn't care, you know what I mean.
- 38:46Speaker 2: I was like, just just make the songs for everybody.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I wasn't into it, So hey, listen, like you said,
- 38:52Speaker 2: he's probably there. I mean, he's the greatest record maker
- 38:54Speaker 2: I think in hip hop history. I wouldn't say in
- 38:56Speaker 2: hip hop history. Okay, okay, no, because it's important because okay,
- 39:03Speaker 2: this is how Elvis happens.
- 39:05Speaker 1: He's the greatest record maker in rap music history. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:10Speaker 1: and quite possibly pop history.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Sure he's in that conversation, Yeah for sure. Yeah, he's
- 39:15Speaker 2: knocking on that door.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Would you like, Iceman, did you listen?
- 39:18Speaker 2: I'm listen to it. It's good album. I mean, but
- 39:21Speaker 2: once you sw a label, what you're doing.
- 39:24Speaker 1: This is my thing with Iceman, and I like, I
- 39:27Speaker 1: tried so my first listen, I hated it because he
- 39:30Speaker 1: was just bitching about the battle and everybody who turned it.
- 39:33Speaker 1: And I was like, man, this ship like let go,
- 39:35Speaker 1: let go man, you know, and uh. I listened to
- 39:39Speaker 1: it a second time and I tried to just be like, Okay,
- 39:43Speaker 1: let me listen to this. I don't know what it's
- 39:46Speaker 1: like to have gone through the worst loss that anybody
- 39:50Speaker 1: has ever taken ever in music, Like it's not even close,
- 39:56Speaker 1: got out wrapped out record, how maneuvered.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Just every single the little things, the big things.
- 40:04Speaker 1: We're talking super Bowl Stadium tour, two sold out dates
- 40:08Speaker 1: in Toronto.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Good lord.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Whole music industry is like off you. Now, all these
- 40:13Speaker 1: people that you helped, you know.
- 40:15Speaker 2: So I was like okay, And I don't think people
- 40:17Speaker 2: was ever off him, No, no, but I just mean
- 40:19Speaker 2: like people who were like I think, but I think
- 40:22Speaker 2: to me, like the Rick ross.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Thing is like a big thing where you were like,
- 40:25Speaker 1: that's that's kind of interesting, Like if French Montana's not mad,
- 40:28Speaker 1: why's Rick Rossman?
- 40:29Speaker 2: Well, you know what's funny is like nothing really happened.
- 40:37Speaker 1: What do you mean by that?
- 40:38Speaker 2: Like just after the battle, nothing happened.
- 40:41Speaker 3: No.
- 40:41Speaker 1: I think my whole thing was like going into Iceman
- 40:43Speaker 1: and just saying okay, I think that there is a
- 40:47Speaker 1: ninety nine point nine percent chance that Drake had nightmares
- 40:51Speaker 1: and or couldn't sleep at night based off of the
- 40:54Speaker 1: mental told that this battle took on it.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Sure, I believe.
- 40:59Speaker 1: And so if you're making a body of work going
- 41:03Speaker 1: through that and whatever after that feels like, Okay, if
- 41:08Speaker 1: that's your truth, now, let me listen to the album.
- 41:11Speaker 1: If motherfuckers wrapping his ass off.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Man, I don't think I listen. He's not some nothing
- 41:20Speaker 2: like this. Nigga is dope. He not stupid, you know
- 41:22Speaker 2: what the fuck he's doing, especially in the pursuit of
- 41:24Speaker 2: making records. He is a different type of animal. I
- 41:28Speaker 2: just feel like it's just been this is why this
- 41:32Speaker 2: doesn't happen in hip hop. Like you know you you
- 41:35Speaker 2: kind of get Jones on you. It's not nothing spectacular.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Even if you are made to look like a fool
- 41:40Speaker 2: like Rick Ross got punched on camera, it didn't stop
- 41:43Speaker 2: his flow. Yeah, and he's not like he's not Finna.
- 41:48Speaker 1: By the way, his new album is fire. It's a
- 41:50Speaker 1: great album.
- 41:52Speaker 2: To be consumed by something. And this is why I'm
- 41:57Speaker 2: really careful, right, and I don't I'm I'm really careful
- 42:00Speaker 2: with how I mentioned people in this space, Like I'm
- 42:03Speaker 2: really careful because it's like his approach is different. Yeah,
- 42:10Speaker 2: and people in hip hop approach approach is different, but
- 42:13Speaker 2: his approach is very special and unique. So really, when
- 42:16Speaker 2: I compare his music, I don't compare it to like
- 42:18Speaker 2: Blueprint or you know, made amatic. I compare it to
- 42:25Speaker 2: like Fleetwood, mac Rumors or Thriller or things of that.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Just because he rapping doesn't mean to me that's not
- 42:32Speaker 2: the simplistic comparative to hip hop. Hip Hop is a
- 42:36Speaker 2: completely different, very niche cultural thing. His understanding of taking
- 42:43Speaker 2: anything and then making something everybody can diegest is closer
- 42:48Speaker 2: to what Madonna.
- 42:49Speaker 1: And it's like a hell of it, like the best
- 42:52Speaker 1: ever at that I think personally like, and I think
- 42:54Speaker 1: Ice Man's a great album. I have it, it's one
- 42:56Speaker 1: of my It's just you gotta get over him bitching
- 43:00Speaker 1: though it's literally you know how they say there's like
- 43:03Speaker 1: scorn baby Mama like singers, or like there's like scorned
- 43:06Speaker 1: women shit like or you'll hear sure you hear, or
- 43:10Speaker 1: you'll hear Chris Brown or Usher and they'll make a
- 43:13Speaker 1: song about being heartbroken by a woman. This is the
- 43:16Speaker 1: first album in which we have a heterosexual male at
- 43:19Speaker 1: least who's heart who's been heartbroken by a bunch of
- 43:23Speaker 1: his homies.
- 43:23Speaker 2: And so I'm gonna say this, and I know everybody
- 43:25Speaker 2: gonna be mad. Sometimes it be feeling very homo erotic bro,
- 43:29Speaker 2: cause it's like I know, yea, I know what's gonna
- 43:32Speaker 2: happen because it's like editing. No, because it's not like
- 43:40Speaker 2: you know, the probably every time I talk, because people
- 43:42Speaker 2: gonna be like this nigga be mad and I'm like,
- 43:43Speaker 2: I'm not mad. I'm just saying naturally because it's all
- 43:47Speaker 2: driven off I fucked with this nigga girl, I did
- 43:49Speaker 2: this or this nigga, I'm fucking this Girl's like, Bro,
- 43:52Speaker 2: if a man comes to your mind when you fucking
- 43:54Speaker 2: a lady, that's a very homo erotic thought. If that's
- 43:57Speaker 2: a if that fuse your interest in a woman, I mean,
- 44:03Speaker 2: if who she slept with, fuse your interests.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Like, oh, I'm gonna add I'm gonna be able to
- 44:07Speaker 1: have that over it.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like oh I got Future's baby mama. Yeah, Bro,
- 44:11Speaker 2: you're probably gay. You know what I'm saying.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Not like.
- 44:18Speaker 1: It feels like a lot of the roots of his
- 44:20Speaker 1: issues with other people that aren't homere rotic shit, it
- 44:23Speaker 1: all sources with a woman. I think that's what happened
- 44:25Speaker 1: with Metro.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Sure, but it's all But that's my point where it's
- 44:28Speaker 2: like it'd be homeore rotic shit. But in his case,
- 44:32Speaker 2: I think part of it is like I'm mad at niggas.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Niggas didn't really accept me.
- 44:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna fuck their bitch.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna show you that I'm worth the same thing
- 44:40Speaker 2: you fuck. I'm gonna show you I'm worth the same
- 44:42Speaker 2: thing because we could fuck the same women. And it's
- 44:44Speaker 2: like that's probably not a great judge your value. You
- 44:47Speaker 2: gotta walk down the same streets. But in his case, man,
- 44:51Speaker 2: I think everything was always fine, and I guess that's
- 44:54Speaker 2: the point, Like, just because you lost a battle, bro,
- 44:57Speaker 2: you're gonna be fine.
- 44:58Speaker 1: You're like, to me, the lawsuit is the worst strategic
- 45:04Speaker 1: decision I've ever seen anyone ever make. And that's not
- 45:07Speaker 1: even like music industry. That's just like, you know, maybe
- 45:11Speaker 1: Dennis Shrewder turning down his Lakers deal, you know, eighty
- 45:14Speaker 1: million dollars and then you know, chasing money the rest
- 45:16Speaker 1: of his career. That's up there. But but Drake doubling
- 45:20Speaker 1: down on this lawsuit shit after losing a battle. It's
- 45:23Speaker 1: like that is when it's like, Okay, you don't even
- 45:27Speaker 1: look at the world through like the spirit of like
- 45:29Speaker 1: this rap shit for real, because could you imagine if
- 45:32Speaker 1: fucking nas or jay Z would suit each other in
- 45:34Speaker 1: two thousand and one. Yeah, it'd been crazy.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. So but and that's why I'm saying it's
- 45:40Speaker 2: a space for it, because it's just not he don't
- 45:44Speaker 2: have these expectations. He don't have the burden of culture.
- 45:47Speaker 2: And so again it that's no way I put Black
- 45:50Speaker 2: on his talent. It's on this phenomenal and he was
- 45:52Speaker 2: always gonna be fine even after the battle. I just
- 45:54Speaker 2: hate that the energy is like, oh it was. It's like, bro,
- 45:56Speaker 2: you're fucking fantastic at this.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Only somebody who doesn't have the burden of culture could
- 46:01Speaker 1: go through with doing that lawsuit and doubling down.
- 46:04Speaker 2: And being fine and being fine any of us, Oh,
- 46:08Speaker 2: it's the end of your life.
- 46:09Speaker 1: What is your favorite Drake song of all time?
- 46:11Speaker 2: Can you stop?
- 46:12Speaker 1: NonStop stop big book?
- 46:14Speaker 2: Guys? See, I mean, I'm not gonna argue with these
- 46:17Speaker 2: crazy people if if I can't condemn somebody doing some
- 46:21Speaker 2: bullshit or or something that's in my wheelhouse. Man, fuck
- 46:23Speaker 2: these people. I don't give a fuck. People get so mad,
- 46:26Speaker 2: I don't get me. I don't give a fuck, do you?
- 46:29Speaker 1: So you've dealt with this, you and head have dealt
- 46:31Speaker 1: with this on a level that I can't comprehend because
- 46:34Speaker 1: I've dealt with it on a smaller level, and it's
- 46:37Speaker 1: been a lot. The Drake ovio Twitter accounts theirs, they
- 46:42Speaker 1: are fucking psycho, their psycho. I'm not sure if they're real.
- 46:48Speaker 1: A lot of these people are in cells. A lot
- 46:50Speaker 1: of these people are in a basement beating their dick
- 46:52Speaker 1: all day.
- 46:53Speaker 2: But it is like this weird.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Block of Twitter accounts that they can at the ovo
- 47:01Speaker 1: owls and the the six Side ship in their bio.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Their entire pages are dedicated to another grown man.
- 47:07Speaker 2: See that the ship when they had to look alike? Party?
- 47:10Speaker 1: Yes, like these like but like pop, these motherfuckers are
- 47:13Speaker 1: like psychos.
- 47:15Speaker 2: But you don't remember that's like Britney Spears ship like that,
- 47:18Speaker 2: Like that never happened hip hop, It ain't none of
- 47:19Speaker 2: us dressed like no motherfucker ice Cube. Niggas love ice Cing.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I mean there's been some old school hip hop theme
- 47:24Speaker 1: parties or people bust out, like you know.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Not a high school not a theme No, no, you're right,
- 47:28Speaker 2: but like, yo, would you go you're a die hard
- 47:30Speaker 2: Clips fan? Would I what would it be?
- 47:34Speaker 1: A Clips party or would it be a clip costume party, No, no, come.
- 47:37Speaker 2: On, no no, A complete look alike? No, no, no no.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I would go to like a two thousands era party
- 47:43Speaker 1: and I would bust out an om your pusher t
- 47:45Speaker 1: and some like you know, bathing a.
- 47:46Speaker 2: No, I mean you have to you have to darken
- 47:48Speaker 2: your skin. No, no, come on, just say it, or
- 47:51Speaker 2: like you would go to a place like that. No, no, no, no,
- 47:53Speaker 2: so be weird. I think his audience is. I think
- 47:57Speaker 2: as the world has been like black life in Americas
- 48:00Speaker 2: and gingrified, here's part of what's happening. So everybody's moving
- 48:03Speaker 2: in on the space. But I probably was always gonna
- 48:05Speaker 2: be fun.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I blocked seven eight hundred accounts just just off of
- 48:08Speaker 1: just this beef.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I won't block one. I love the humility. I
- 48:12Speaker 2: love the shit theyby said, some crazy shit like I
- 48:15Speaker 2: be reading it because some people I'm like, if I
- 48:16Speaker 2: see you hit your side your head. But for the
- 48:19Speaker 2: most part, I don't mind the humility. I don't mind
- 48:21Speaker 2: somebody trying to humble me.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Could you and academics have a conversation in person that
- 48:26Speaker 1: wouldn't result in violence?
- 48:28Speaker 2: Why the fuck would I fight?
- 48:29Speaker 1: Act? I'm just curious, Yeah, but why would. He's been
- 48:34Speaker 1: pretty disrespectful too. I mean he's he said some crazy
- 48:38Speaker 1: shit about everybody, and.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but all them people. The kick is that now
- 48:42Speaker 2: he ain't said shit fucked up about listen. Act is
- 48:48Speaker 2: in this really weird space because people call it journalism,
- 48:52Speaker 2: but it's not. It's more rooted in his opinion on
- 48:54Speaker 2: what's happening in.
- 48:55Speaker 1: The news, right like a it's an opinion based show
- 48:58Speaker 1: for sure, Yes, And I think.
- 48:59Speaker 2: The confusionist people think they you know, they conflated with
- 49:02Speaker 2: somebody giving just you know, like a news.
- 49:08Speaker 1: It's not news, No, it's academics commentating on what's going
- 49:11Speaker 1: on culturally through his.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Perspective, through his lens. So it's like, I wouldn't really
- 49:16Speaker 2: have no problem like me an ACT don't. God, I
- 49:18Speaker 2: don't got no problems with Act. The shit he said
- 49:21Speaker 2: about my own body gonna you know, you can probably
- 49:23Speaker 2: have to fight them about this shit, or you may don't.
- 49:25Speaker 2: But like, I don't think me and him personally had
- 49:28Speaker 2: no thing. I don't think he would want to sit
- 49:30Speaker 2: down me because he know, I know what the fuck
- 49:31Speaker 2: I'm talking about, right, Most of these people not gonna
- 49:34Speaker 2: want to sit down me because I know what I
- 49:36Speaker 2: care about. It Like for them, this is just like
- 49:38Speaker 2: a hustle, like they're just making money. Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 1: I think what made academics like endearing to the public
- 49:44Speaker 1: on The Joe Budden Show was that he felt like
- 49:47Speaker 1: he was like a fan and he is a fan
- 49:50Speaker 1: of music who kind of got thrown on on on camera.
- 49:53Speaker 2: I don't know if he's really a fan.
- 49:54Speaker 1: No, no, I'm not saying he's like a fan of
- 49:56Speaker 1: like he's not like a hip hop head per se.
- 49:59Speaker 2: But I think, like, don't even I don't even mean
- 50:01Speaker 2: like a a hip hop head' I think, man, this
- 50:04Speaker 2: ship is tag is just Thursday.
- 50:06Speaker 3: No.
- 50:07Speaker 1: But I think like when he first came in, he
- 50:09Speaker 1: felt like it was like, oh, they just they took
- 50:11Speaker 1: this guy off the Internet and now he's in front
- 50:13Speaker 1: of these rappers, which is why I thought, like, if
- 50:15Speaker 1: you think about that Migos moment, he was like genuinely
- 50:19Speaker 1: like excited to talk to the Migos.
- 50:21Speaker 2: He forgot he just said talking shit and so it
- 50:23Speaker 2: was like you know it.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Was it was I like, it acts like initial run.
- 50:28Speaker 1: I was like, I fuck with dude because he's just
- 50:31Speaker 1: like he's.
- 50:32Speaker 2: How any random like hip hop fan with acts initial
- 50:35Speaker 2: run was the Chicago shit.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I mean when we public, when we
- 50:39Speaker 1: saw him, I wasn't I saw I was back there.
- 50:41Speaker 1: You were fucking with the Shyrack shit.
- 50:43Speaker 2: I was like that at all. Okay, make no mistake.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Everything about this ship is few by Street. Urban culture
- 50:51Speaker 2: is Act's take on Chicago street urban coachure my teen's
- 50:54Speaker 2: happening in that flockos success is happening because of his
- 50:59Speaker 2: take on Los Angeles Street.
- 51:01Speaker 1: And I thoroughly enjoy Flocko's YouTube channel.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Which I've told him multiple times it's irrespond like this
- 51:07Speaker 2: lie telling about Mustard, that's a bad lie.
- 51:10Speaker 1: I will watch him like tear down, like Chud the Builder,
- 51:13Speaker 1: and like I don't watch the hip hop shit because
- 51:16Speaker 1: I kind of like sure, I kind of know that
- 51:18Speaker 1: him and I are not aligned.
- 51:20Speaker 2: And it's not alignment because like he's a gifted storyteller,
- 51:24Speaker 2: very good at that, Like acc is a gifted orator,
- 51:29Speaker 2: Like he can he can dictate and narrate exactly what
- 51:32Speaker 2: he's watching in his voice. It's certain things that I
- 51:34Speaker 2: know that make that works for whatever you.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Want to say about Aki is a gifted communicator and
- 51:39Speaker 1: there's something that resonates with the public.
- 51:41Speaker 2: And with flock flock is a gifted storyteller. But the
- 51:45Speaker 2: problem is both of them will fucking lie. And that's
- 51:49Speaker 2: where it can be dangerous because you're in like right
- 51:51Speaker 2: now the ship Flocko is doing with Mustard, that's irresponsible,
- 51:56Speaker 2: Like you you can.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Say that saying that Mustard someone out right yes over
- 52:01Speaker 1: a murder.
- 52:02Speaker 2: So this people got friends, homies. You could put this
- 52:06Speaker 2: man life in danger. That shit is irresponsible, and that's
- 52:11Speaker 2: what the burden.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Of culture would prevent you from talking about.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so this is goes back to that same conversation,
- 52:21Speaker 2: the burden of they don't have the burden of culture.
- 52:24Speaker 2: They will they don't have the burden of none of
- 52:27Speaker 2: this shit that I could be like man Trump, duh
- 52:31Speaker 2: lah dah, he don't give a fuck how niggas feel.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Flock Oh, don't give a fuck out. They don't. It's
- 52:36Speaker 2: not they don't have the burden of culture. The thing
- 52:39Speaker 2: that makes hip hop hip hop is the burden of culture.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Like that's the thing, you know what I'm saying, and
- 52:44Speaker 2: even further in their space for you know, how they
- 52:46Speaker 2: see the world. So but I think this again, Street
- 52:50Speaker 2: urban culture is the gift that keeps on giving and
- 52:53Speaker 2: this is why we have them. But no, I don't.
- 52:56Speaker 2: I wouldn't. There's no reason for me to fight academics.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Like well, I feel like there was just.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Like this funny thing where it was like everybody kind
- 53:06Speaker 1: of shows sides in this thing, right, and then it
- 53:10Speaker 1: automatically like made people who like, you know, I think
- 53:14Speaker 1: about like even like I remember at the beginning of
- 53:16Speaker 1: the battle, DJ Head and academics had a constructive conversation
- 53:20Speaker 1: on academics stream and I was like, oh, that was
- 53:23Speaker 1: dope head is head, So you're not gonna, you know,
- 53:28Speaker 1: win that, but it was a constructive conversation and then
- 53:33Speaker 1: it turned into disrespect somewhere on one side obviously, and
- 53:39Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, well and then you know, and
- 53:41Speaker 1: even like even like Maw like mal somebody who you know,
- 53:46Speaker 1: I fuck with Rory and Maul's podcast a lot, but
- 53:49Speaker 1: like some of his like it just became like okay,
- 53:52Speaker 1: like it's almost like, you know, when we watched CNN
- 53:56Speaker 1: or Fox, there's these two different truths that people like
- 53:59Speaker 1: exist then depending on what channel you watch, And it
- 54:04Speaker 1: felt like that was some of the some of some
- 54:05Speaker 1: of the commentators in this battle, it was like, y'all
- 54:08Speaker 1: are just not being genuine, Like you're being disingenuous because
- 54:10Speaker 1: of your relationship or your ties or your fandom to
- 54:13Speaker 1: whichever side right. And I felt like on the Drake side,
- 54:16Speaker 1: it was like there were so many guys who were
- 54:18Speaker 1: just like, Okay, what do we are? We just gonna
- 54:21Speaker 1: not tell the truth on what's going on here, Like.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Man, to be honest, man, I thought that shit was humorous.
- 54:28Speaker 2: I thought it was funny. I don't know, man, I
- 54:34Speaker 2: don't know. I don't think. I get I don't The
- 54:38Speaker 2: disrespect thing is raggedy like, but I think part of
- 54:42Speaker 2: it is because enough people don't sit down. Now, I
- 54:46Speaker 2: get it. There's some people I'm not gonna sit down with,
- 54:48Speaker 2: not because I don't think we would have a constructive conversation.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I just think that their point is to cause chaos.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Yeah, they're not They're not coming from a place, genuine place. Yeah.
- 54:59Speaker 2: So like acts like I don't think I think he
- 55:05Speaker 2: knows better. I think he knows the stuff within like
- 55:07Speaker 2: flock oh, like that shit with mustard is fucked up,
- 55:11Speaker 2: Like that's not something to play with, and to me,
- 55:13Speaker 2: it should be imposed upon him by like his the
- 55:17Speaker 2: people that are in his street urban circle, you know,
- 55:20Speaker 2: rock Star, p Nighte, all of those people. Do you DM.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I know you guys had a moment on stream, but
- 55:25Speaker 1: do you like do you text flock on the side?
- 55:27Speaker 2: Nah? Nah, because like I have before, Like but like
- 55:31Speaker 2: when I told him that day, like you you have
- 55:34Speaker 2: to know that this could cost somebody they life. You
- 55:36Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, This is serious like this, and
- 55:39Speaker 2: I think sometimes they treat us like we characters on
- 55:41Speaker 2: a video game and they just playing a video game
- 55:44Speaker 2: for the world and they just controlling it. And it's like, bro,
- 55:46Speaker 2: there's no three lives. Bro, Like this is serious and
- 55:50Speaker 2: that's kind of like my energy about it all. It's like, bro,
- 55:54Speaker 2: this is real for us. This is like our real lives.
- 55:57Speaker 2: This is our friends, family, everybody we knew growing up
- 56:01Speaker 2: in our childhood. And you are doing something to be entertaining,
- 56:05Speaker 2: but you can cost someone their life And what do
- 56:08Speaker 2: you think that means after that? Like it's not about
- 56:12Speaker 2: you know, initiating fear in you. It's like, bro, like
- 56:16Speaker 2: how like you're a regular. But this goes to the
- 56:19Speaker 2: point of where I always say street urban culture people
- 56:21Speaker 2: have more morals than a regular civilian, Like there is
- 56:30Speaker 2: no code of conduct for a regular person. It's whatever
- 56:32Speaker 2: to get ahead or whoever that person want to be.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Where we live at, accountability as a must. If you
- 56:38Speaker 2: go around saying something about a motherfucker, it's expected for
- 56:41Speaker 2: you to see that motherfucker say it to their face.
- 56:44Speaker 2: And the real world is not like that. Like you
- 56:46Speaker 2: watch people be online all the time, call each other's
- 56:49Speaker 2: out there name motherfucker, be like, oh you punk ass bitch,
- 56:51Speaker 2: and they be talking crazy and then the motherfucker hit
- 56:52Speaker 2: them and they'll be surprised, like why'd you hit me?
- 56:56Speaker 2: It's like because people really think they should be able
- 56:58Speaker 2: to say what they want to say. That is what
- 57:00Speaker 2: makes it different than any street urban lifestyle that is
- 57:04Speaker 2: not true. So there's a moral you know, space of
- 57:09Speaker 2: how you talk here and accountability, like to the initial
- 57:14Speaker 2: point is very personal, and niggas will just be like, yeah,
- 57:17Speaker 2: well you had to come in, So I don't think
- 57:22Speaker 2: I would have If I saw academicly, it'd be like
- 57:24Speaker 2: what up and just be a very entertaining podcast. Sure,
- 57:26Speaker 2: but it's probably gonna end more with me explaining where
- 57:31Speaker 2: he's wrong at him omitting he's wrong, and then him
- 57:33Speaker 2: going back to doing what he was doing because that's
- 57:35Speaker 2: his business. Same with Flo. H If I talk to Flo, oh,
- 57:38Speaker 2: it's gonna be me, you know, being a forty six
- 57:41Speaker 2: year old man from the streets, educating him on exactly
- 57:45Speaker 2: where he's wrong, you know, him trying to refute it,
- 57:48Speaker 2: but then me, you know, deflating that, you know, taking
- 57:52Speaker 2: the air out of those debates and holding them accountable,
- 57:55Speaker 2: but him going back to entertaining how he's entertaining. So
- 57:59Speaker 2: I guess the whole point is, these are real people's
- 58:02Speaker 2: lives you're entertaining with.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I always say that when it comes to some
- 58:07Speaker 1: of like these new quote unquote hip hop fans, they're
- 58:10Speaker 1: not even fans of the music, they're fans of the
- 58:12Speaker 1: story that they found on YouTube. Like, you know, you
- 58:15Speaker 1: talked about the Shirak shit. I'm like, there's so many
- 58:18Speaker 1: people who don't give a fuck about none of you know,
- 58:21Speaker 1: the Jacksonville shit, you know, Fulio dying and all. You know,
- 58:25Speaker 1: there's so many people who they don't consume the music.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Man, they they're just consuming the trauma. They right back
- 58:31Speaker 2: at their cubicle, pouring coffee into their mound it's their
- 58:34Speaker 2: TV show, doing their database.
- 58:35Speaker 1: It's their TV show. Whether it's like a Traplo or
- 58:37Speaker 1: Ross documentary or fly, you know, it's it's it's entertainment.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and so it's like, that's why I'm really careful.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Back to that point from twenty twenty one to twenty
- 58:47Speaker 2: two where I'm telling you I'm careful with who I
- 58:49Speaker 2: call hip hop right, and I think as all of
- 58:53Speaker 2: us in the space should be really careful. That's not
- 58:56Speaker 2: to say people don't do business or make money off
- 58:58Speaker 2: of hip hop, but I think the burden of culture
- 59:02Speaker 2: is the thing that anchors us down.
- 59:06Speaker 1: What do you think There's obviously somebody you're close with
- 59:09Speaker 1: both parties, but I saw stat Quo and Justin We're
- 59:15Speaker 1: doing a podcast yesterday, Top calls in to give full
- 59:19Speaker 1: context on why Kendrick and Game stopped talking. Had to
- 59:22Speaker 1: do with the one hundred video shoot, which is twelve
- 59:26Speaker 1: thirteen years ago now at this point, ten years ago,
- 59:31Speaker 1: Kendrick not loving the fact that Drake was in Compton
- 59:35Speaker 1: and had subliminal bars for Kendrick on that record. I
- 59:39Speaker 1: think it's a shame because you know, they got Game
- 59:43Speaker 1: and Kendrick have such deep history and.
- 59:44Speaker 2: Me, I don't know. I'm still really surprised, and I
- 59:49Speaker 2: don't know exactly what the fuck Chuck was thinking, Like,
- 59:52Speaker 2: you can't let this nigga disc gaming. You can't let
- 59:54Speaker 2: this nigga DISDT in Compton, right, you really ain't supposed
- 59:57Speaker 2: to be on no record what his nigga dissing him.
- 59:59Speaker 2: But if I don't even know, you don't bring into
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: competent like that's even watching top Like I didn't want
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Toime to do that because I don't want them arguing
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: on the net and shit, but this shit is just
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: disappointing and it's frustrating. I mean, it's frustrating because everybody
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: is looking hip hop is such a wee thing, you
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: know what I mean, It's an US thing, right, and
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: whenever there's cracks in US, it's just it's just fucking ridiculous.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: You already know Arizona Man the bouotleg Heap podcast brought
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: to you by our partners at Rafi Law Group. Now
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: we love RAFFI Law Group Man, Arizona's premier personal injury firm.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: What I love about RAFFI is they're so dependable, so trustworthy,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: and they get the job done. They've helped over seventy
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: thousand Arizonans. I know you see the billboards everywhere. I
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: know you can't avoid seeing a man Raffi's face everywhere.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: But it's because he is the absolute best. Alright. Just
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: helped my wife get through an accident situation, got her paid.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: My mother in law, same situation. My best friend's parents
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: just use Raffi and got a big payday. So make
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: sure if you get into an accident, if you need help,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: all right, it could be an accident, it could be
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: a slip and fall, it could be any personal injury situation.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: They're gonna take care of it, all right. All you
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: gotta do is call Raffi. You know what it is, man,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Call Raffi six two three three eight eight four three
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: three three. Raffi Law Group, the only personal injury law
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: firm that we will ever rock with right here on
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: the Blue leg Heap Podcast. Yeah, especially two guys who
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: are just like historically, I mean, I'm just happy I
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: got to see them perform The City together. I think
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: it's the only time ever that will like that that
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: ever happened, because it was like right when like good Kid,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Mad City came out, there was a KKFR show in Phoenix,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: the gay Man Kendrick ran and Game brought Kate out
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: out to do the city. I forget what Game album
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: that was on such a great record, but now I
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: definitely think it's when you hear shit like that, it's like,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: oh that makes so much sense. Well, I mean Game
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: not being at the pop you know all this stuff.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: You're like, okay, I mean you always kind of knew
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: there was like because you know, but there is no tensions.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Like the belief is that there's a tension and it's not.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: The truth is if motherfucker's not seeing eye eye on
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: certain thing, motherfuckers just don't speak right, you know what
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: I mean. But I don't think it changes your dynamic
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: right of you know what y'all built. But again, man,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: this shit just and.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: The moments that they're a part. I think about that that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: You know, when it was Game corrupt Snoop on stage
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: passing the torch to Kendre. I mean, that's that's etched
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: in history, you know.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: So yeah, I saw that shit. I was like, fuck man,
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: you how okay?
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: On a scale from like one to one hundred percent,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: because you made headlines because you brought up the fact
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: that Drake might be assisting in some of the financing
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: of pushing this YG narrative with the Draco situation, How
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: sure are you that that's.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: It's not asap. Rocky just did an interview where he explained, like, man,
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: these this this is something that they do in the business.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean? They see stories like this
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: is not no big thing. Like the same thing happened
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: in a civil suit with Universal. He accused them of crimes.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: It's the reason you accused somebody of crimes. Puff just
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: went to jail out of a civil suit accused and
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Cassi your crimes. Like this is not some deep thing.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: It's simple, Like it's right in on fucking face, like
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: that's not deep. The fact that everybody made it like
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: that was some Oh my god, I couldnap be like, Bro,
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: he's fucking upset. Of course he is. But my problem is, Bro,
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: your hounds are doing some shit that could cost some niggas.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: I don't know. Fuck how mad you is at no
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: pussy ass fucking battle. I'm the fuck how mad you
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: is about no fucking dumb ass rap battle. Grow the
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: fuck up, Bro, You're gonna make millions of dollars. Your
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: kids are straight, but you keep playing it, just get
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: fucked up. It's gonna get fucked up, bro, because ain't
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: nobody just taking no fucking losses. You don't nobody got
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: enough money to not be seen. No matter what you think,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: you still black. Like all of these things are in
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: the realm, so bro, just like it's one thing you're
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: trying to make it look nigga look dumb. It's another
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: thing where your minions right for lack of better terms,
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: are doing things to falsely incriminate somebody because you know, again,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: we in America where they don't have no problem fucking
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: over a black man. That's it. So it's like, just
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: be mindful of that. And it's not that deep. It's
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: not like this whole thing this is everybody's talking about
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: the same exact thing.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost like when you push a narrative. First
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: of all, it's easy to push narratives, especially if you
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: have certain people in your pocket or who fuck with you,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And narratives become truths, man,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: and people get drummed up off of public sentiment. Like
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: it's a thing, Like public sentiment is a real thing.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: That we're watching it happen in multiple cases, like we
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: keep seeing it happen, and I'm just saying, and this
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: is another thing, like, right, the burden of culture that
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: would make you responsible, Right, the burden of culture that
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: would make you responsible for doing this, It's it's not there.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: So to be honest, I'm the only motherfucker's like seeing
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: it out loud and every motherfucker like, man, they know
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: it's true, but to the general public, it just sound
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: like this conspiracy. So that's it kind of just becomes
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: like Bro. I honestly, I didn't even want to talk
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: about in the first place. I was just in a
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: fucking another space and I was trying to spare one
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: of cuz stands that be playing and it's like, bro,
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: I'm not playing, bro, And cuz know I'm not playing.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: All this partners know I'm not playing. If my partners
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: ain't told them I'm not playing, I'm not playing. I'm
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: not fucking around dog.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Man, it's like real life. Like you said, it's one
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: thing to make it lott someone look stupid or look
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: broke or whatever the fuck. But it's like when you
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: start fucking around people's life, like life, it's like, yoh,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: what are we doing here?
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: And that's to me what it is. So it's like,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: y G Bro didn't kill that man. Bro, hy G
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: didn't have that. Nothing about HyG had something that shit
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: just done and must it didn't bail this boy out
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: of no motherfucking jed bill. That's just not true. But
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: these have real life ramifications. So when people are pushing
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: that narrative and I know who's seeding stories and who
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: don't have no problem watering them with money, I'm speaking
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: out a lot of hey, cuz that's not player bro,
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: And it's not like I wanted to do it then
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: I don't. That's why I kind of haven't really talked
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: about it and I'm not trying to get into all
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: that shit, like I don't give fuck what none of
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: these people think, cause you and I know what's going on.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: It was a message directly to you. I'm not you know,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: it just happened to be because we don't talk on
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: the phone or I'm not talking to Tillble, I'm not
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: talking about I'm not trying to send no message to
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: the homie, to you. I'm telling you cuz to you,
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: like hey, cut, don't do that. I don't fuck how
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: mad you is. Like it was like the whole bron
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: shit because it was like crimes allegs and that shit prostitution.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: You talking about Couzin this old lady, he alleged crimes
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: against Browns about paying for p and you like this
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: ain't something abnormal because he's been doing it the whole
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: time since the battle.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Yeah, imagine like you put like like he like why,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Like that's the thing, bro, motherfuckers have no standards. It's
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: like you over here trying to break up someone's marriage
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: because they went to the pop out and.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Dance ad to a nigga song who he'd been dancing
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: And I get it. To the general population, that's some
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: bitch ass shit though, But the general a lot of
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: people in the general population is whole ass niggas. So
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: whole ass niggas unite and they find each other and
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: then so it's not no men. So then the one
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: man that's screaming feel me just look crazy. I just
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: looked like a crazy old man on my yard cuz
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: versus like, hey, bro, be a man. Bro, you you've
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: got in this battle for you know what I mean?
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: You lost the battle. Somebody outmaneuvered you, no problem, keep
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: it moving. Put fucking millionaire.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Your life is straight. Bro. You can put out some records.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: You the king of this record shit you get.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: The fucker had a Lebron James tattoo on his body,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: so and then and then proceeded to try to break
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: up his marriage.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: Yes, because you're mad so the fact, and then said
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: he paid for prostitutes. Like I'm not saying nothing.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Crazy is in jail for that right now?
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Yes, because somebody filed a civil suit allegend criminal activities.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: The people investigated it after the civil suit when it
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: so again, I'm not It just sounds crazy because I
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: just sound like the crazy old man on the yard
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: versus I'm not no nigga. I ain't been telling y'all
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: no motherfucking lies because I ain't the nigga around this
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: motherfucker trying to lie because I'm not trying to kicking
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: no nigga. Back in and get nowhere, bro. Like one thing,
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: we're joking about a battle and having fun and all that,
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: and me standing up for my partner for me, Bro,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: I don't care, but I don't want you to put
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: this hy g them dudes ain't man. That's not right. Bro, Like,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: that's not right.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Bro. Them niggas ain't bro Like he's a fucking executive
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: and it ain't.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Nobody else gonna speak up, you know what I mean?
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: For the young hommies and everybody don't speak damn shit.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: I guess I'm stuck because I can't do it no
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: other way, am I.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Thing is like, why G's not making the song that
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: he put on his album, which is right there by
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: the way Gentlemen's Club. That would be an insane thing
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: to put that record out and then still like like
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: actually have something to.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Do with what happened, bro, that that shit is just dune.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Like everybody in the streets know what happened, right like
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: that the streets taught we know what happened.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: What is your thoughts on because I do think we're
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: like I feel like I'm surprised gang members are still
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: going on podcasts talking about stuff they shouldn't be talking
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: about after we've seen the last five years happen, right ricos,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: people are in jail, people have died, et cetera, et cetera,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: et cetera. What do you kind of like like in
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: terms of like the gang culture turning in the content
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: because active game members or retired game whatever, you can't retire.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: You got to get off the set. But are are
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: making it content.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: It's a tough thing, you know, Like people want to
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: condemn it, but it's like these people are trying to
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: change their life.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: They're trying to feed their family.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: It's like, here's some shit. I've been through an experience
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: that separates me from ninety nine point nine percent of
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: the general public, right, and somebody wants to pay me
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: to hear about all this trauma I've been through, right,
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Like I could be our robbing motherfuckers. I could be
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: you know, all the stuff. So there's that part of me,
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: and that's the part of me that I really emphasize
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: what the situation is. Don't got nothing to say as
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: long as you being accountable for whatever comes from it,
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: come from it. Cool, But I don't have no condemnation
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: for homies trying to change their life. I remember what
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: it was like excelling shirm every day. I remember what
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: it's like getting shot at. I remember it was like
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: busting on niggas. I remember going through all this, going
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: to jail, fighting a lot.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Of people that obviously you can't blame somebody for rather
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: going and sitting down and doing a podcast than going
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: and hitting a lick that could cost them, you know,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: their life or you know.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: So it's enough people to me talking shit about them,
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: you know what I mean? For me, it's like like,
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: and I hope it work out for you, bro, like
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: I just wanted to work out for you. I want
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I want you to be able to make a living.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: I want you to be able to send and find
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: your ship, like people like Bosco or you know, people
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: that have made like Munchie. Certain people to me that
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: are really positioning themselves, like I want them to change
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: their life. And if what they got to offer initially
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: is their cultural experience growing up in this jungle that
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: we grew up here. What's the gummy from avalon a cartoon?
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: I think, like how great of an entertaining do brick
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Baby was before he got such a.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Beause he was almost good, he was almost out, you
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: know what I mean. And so I want all of
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: the people that I grew up, you know, that grew
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: up like me, to have a chance to make it
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: out too. And it's a tough thing. All I say
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: is just be accountable because you know this shit, it's
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: a bunch of people rooting against you. It's a bunch
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: of people that are jealous of your experience. They're jealous
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: that people respect that you were able to survive.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: And now you've got notoriety.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I hate that shit. They'd be like, man, well, shit,
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: I've been stipling the papers for all these years. Why
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: y'all appreciate him.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: It's also like an understandable thing to if you're just
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: living in your truth and you're on a live stream,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: if you're just talking free like people like some people
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: just like will let shit go that they probably be like, damn,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: I shouldn't have said that, but we was live on
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: the internet.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: It is what it is. I get it, though.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: I've been in the strongstanding that prior to, I mean,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: prior to any of this beef shit, I had Kendrick
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: two or three all time on my top five because
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: I was to tell people if you could put Biggie
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: in your top five off of two albums, I could
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: put Kendrick in my top five off of five albums.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: And obviously you know Section eighty and Kendrick glmarip and.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: Ah.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: After all this and after gn X, I think it's
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: either him or Jay Z. And I mean when I
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: say the greatest rapper of all time, what do you have, like,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: where do you have him?
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: I think Snoop Dogg is the greatest hip hop artist
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: of wal time. Okay, I think Snoop is the greatest
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: hip hop artist of all time. I think culturally the
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: phenomenon that he is, you know, it's some I.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Think Doggie Still is the greatest album of all time.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: Ship. Yeah, that's a great album. I don't know, man
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: watching dot to be honest, Like what's crazy is gn
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: X is my favorite Kendrick album? Is the first one
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: I've ever you know, really that that kind of send
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: it into because I'm also probably like like all the
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: stuff I grew up, you know, i'mthing nostalgic about growing up.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: For sure. This is like the first Kindrick album that
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: I've ever played, Like I play the Chronic right, or
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: I play dog Food or street Gospel or Rhythmalism or
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Blueprints or Made or any of that. Like I play
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: this Ship like that, So like I'm more than anything.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: I'm impressed. But for people arguing about the greatest, you
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: know what I mean, he's as qualified as anybody else
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: in that conversation.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: I think he's got Damn, You're more classics than anybody.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: I think the only discography I would say kind of
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: hangs with him or or surpasses him unequivalent, it's Kanye
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: in terms of quality.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: I always feel like me and we talked about this,
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: I always feel like Kanye first half of his career
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: is overrated. The second half is really where you get Kanye.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: You're tripping man overrated because it's a hell of fundamental,
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: but it's great. It's with training wheels, you know what
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: I'm saying, Like when he got loose, by the time
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: he starts doing Ship like Jesus, by the time.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I love you, like I got used this high in
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: my life of Pablo.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Ya like the ya ep, Like that's my favorite Kanye product.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Yay Yay. Really, I mean, I think ghost Town's one
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: of the greatest songs. That's my ship, It's one of
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: the greatest songs got.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: And to me, that's that to me is like that's
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: where yay is Yay. All that other ship from them
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: early records, Damn is just his renditions of I mean,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: I don't listen.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: I think that's like saying, you know, doggy style is,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: you know, and the blue Carpet treatment. We'll be like, well,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: they're very different phases of Snoop's life and both very great.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: But but for me, the production part of it is
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: the conversation, not love the production, not him as an
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: MC right, because him as an MC is an evolution
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: of man.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: But My Beautiful Dark Twist Fantasy the greatest album ever
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: really outside of Snoop. But I think if you were,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: if you were to take it's almost like I always say,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: I'm a Lebron guy. But to me, if someone says
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: that Jordan's the goat, I can't argue with that. And
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: if I was a Jordan guy, if someone told me
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Lebron was the goat, I couldn't argue with it. Probably
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: could hater anyway, let's not get into the fund. But
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: I think if like I think the Kanye, my Beautiful
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Dark Twisted Fantasy is the album that if someone was like,
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: this is the greatest album ever, it's perfect. I can't
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: say nothing, really, I can't say nothing. What's what's the
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: what's the joint on?
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: There? You skip? That ship is impeccable, you know, That's all?
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: That's all like subjective what I will say is by
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: that time, he started to figure out who he was
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: as a producer, and that's what I appreciate, right, Like
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: my favorite a album Go Yay, Pablo Jesus, Dark Twisted Fantasy.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Oh you're like yeah, I mean listen, I love yes
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: this man, and then Pablos.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: As a producer, he starts defining himself, like listening to
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: college dropout, you know, like registration registrations, she graduation, graduation.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: He started kind of just moving into a poppiler space.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: But I think fundamentally it was I heard what he
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: was doing before, and I thought he did it well
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: to where I can accept it. But when he started gambling,
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: you know what I mean, that's when I.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Get I get what you mean by that my personal
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: favorite because I think.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: There's like funny you said, ghost down that is my shit.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: It's my favorite song on the album, and I think
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: it's it's in the contention for best Yay song ever.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: But I think, like my favorite Kanye album is different
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: than what I think it's the best. My favorite is
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Late Registration. But then like in that conros the at
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: least this is up there versus on Late Registration, we
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: major shots in knabs Man.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: But yeah, so I think his first half is a
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: bit overrated, but I get it. That's what everybody could
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: connect to, Like people don't like to gamble, but man
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: to me, like later in his career when he started
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: gambling with sounds and like five thirty even off one
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: of the last projects, and.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I mean that's just bully by the way, bullies fire.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: I haven't really been listening, but I heard five thirty yeah,
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: and I mean yay. And Pablo like Ultra Light being
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: like that style of production to me is yay. That's
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: where like I get yay. I don't get this version
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: of Pete Rock. I don't get this version of Rizles's
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: what you're saying, primo, I get.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Like an elevator, Like you're essentially getting an evolved version
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: of the boom Back shit with the first two albums
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: for sure.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Honestly a poppier version of the boom Back like.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: More like to me, a perfected version if I had
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: to be honest, like if.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: I think it like yeah nah, because yay, oh none
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: of them got to be as tight as cream, but
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: it's clean, it's digestible for the men stream, like you know,
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: taking a chaka Cohn song and pitching up the vocals.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: I get what the thought was, but man, when you
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: start getting to songs like ghost Town or No No,
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: when he started taking like risk.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: I think it started on graduation, when he started fucking
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: with like the EDM shit and sampling it stronger. But
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I feel like nobody, but nobody was doing that ship.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: And hip hop that was I don't think that's really
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: the game that was groundbreaking though, sure, because you now
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: you you usher in a genre that hip hop doesn't
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: necessarily well, that's not necessarily tru because we start going
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: back to BAM and you whatever. But I get it.
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: But the point I'm saying is when you start doing
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: it like ghost Town, I never heard no ship like
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: this incredible, Like I never heard ship like Ultra. Do
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: you like Kitsy Ghosts. I'm not a Cuddy fan.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Oh you're tripping.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: I never got into a shout to get cutting.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: We have him as a vampire.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: I never got in a Cuddy like that. Listen to that.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: No, you have to listen to that album because it's
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: kind of a continuation of Yet you have to listen
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: to that. There's ghost Town Part twos on there.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: You have to ghost on ghost Town too, but ghost
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: Town man, who you got that is? Wanna like?
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: That?
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: To me? Is when I was like, oh this niggas,
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: you know he got something that's special.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Okay, I want you to rank the following five hip
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: hop albums, Okay, Doggy Style, My Crazy Life, the documentary,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: g n X, dog Food.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: Based off my opinion of what I grew up listening to.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Just give me your five, based off what are what
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: are the better?
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: What's greater or better? Greater is a different conversation because
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: greater is how to impact everybody yours, your dog food,
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: dog food, everything else. Okay, Okay, so if dog Foods
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: number one personally, gn X is gonna probably be number two.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: Okay, we got My Crazy Life, we got the documentary.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: What else did I say? Dog Style? So for sure,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: dog Food is the first album that fit my life
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: at that time and it made sense to me. Uh
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: G and X has pretty pretty much been the soundtrack
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: of my last Like I haven't played an album as
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: much as I played gen X in a long time,
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: year and a half straight, like like my life's mantra,
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Like like whacked out mirrors, that's like they gotta played
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: at my funeral fire like that's like never by Scarface
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: and whacked out Mirrors are like right there, as like
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: my life's creed as a as a man, I'm gonna
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to go doggy style three. Yeah, I
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: was close to it and then crazy like. But what's
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: funny is I probably played my Crazy Life more than documentary,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: But documentary probably means more because I saw it up
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: close and personal. I was there when that happened, and
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: I saw the rollout, I saw videos being shot. I
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: saw that it was personal. But my crazy life is
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: I probably played my Crazy Life third the most.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: It's a perfect album, so good album.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: They did a fantastic job that.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: It was the incredible Were you watching the verses?
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: NA? I had a show at a park for the city.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: Did the Pair? Was it the Pair of Square Ship?
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: I did a park, you did the park?
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: Wakin? Yeah?
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: I obviously the documentaries and and to me, Doctor's Advocates
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: my favorite game album. But I think like the sentiment
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: going into the battle, people just had YG fucked up.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, man, I hit had and I was
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: like there for rudewagn. I was telling everybody the whole time,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: is like, bro, I was like, Yo.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: This's gonna be, this gonna be, This's gonna be a
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: rough day for Chuck because y G, why G's had
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: If you think about his his run, he is the
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: party twenty ten, twenty ten, twenty eleven to twenty and
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: twenty six, we've gotten YG joints.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Damn here every year. He's the He's the party, ainty.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: But the only person that probably could keep up with
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: him and the party. I mean there's some guys that
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: we could talk about, but I'm talking about on the
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: level like he's the party, like Snoop is the party.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: And he's but he's the party. But he's got fuck
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Donald Trump and you party to that.
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: But I'm saying, but he's the party.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: But I mean he did he you know, he didn't
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: do a lot of like my joint joints. You know,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: like if he would have did like really be smoking
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: But he But I just think that like he ended
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: up doing a I just want to party.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Yep, he did that. He did biking back being Bull, did.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: Rock come out? Nah?
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: Damn nah? But I was like when I saw I
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: think there was like a pole who was gonna win
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: and I think it was like eighty twenty, like games favorite.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Everybody thought. I was like, everybody, you guys really got
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: fucking Why G fucked up?
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: That's for sure our guy.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: And like the amount of records that like keep performed it,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: You're like, oh my god, you forget this motherfucker's different.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: He's a he was a He's a phenomenon in itself.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: He's another one of those guys that's really underrated in
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: the fold.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: I kept telling everybody on my stam like, bro, that
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: battle is gonna be way crazy, y'all. Think this little
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: nigga got all the party songs. Every one of his
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: fucking songs is like the ship like we've been part
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: like BBT, like then he.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Got the R and B ship with Jeremiah and her
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: and oh man. But no, I just thought I thought
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: it was I thought it was a beautiful day. I thought,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: you know, Chuck made it one of the more memorable
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: battles because he was just hilarious.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Like definitely turned to a party.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: It was. It was so much fun to watch. But
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: I was I'm glad that like that national audience got
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: to be like, oh shit, why G damn that's motherfucker different.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Are you working on any music or anything right now?
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we got the whole one ten album me Joey
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: and Duced. We got a group called one ten album
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: called Custom Culture. It's in a queue. Were finishing it
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: up and it'll be out by the end of this year.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: And then you're streaming how often Monday, Wednesday and Friday noon.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I don't know how much long it's gonna last though,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: because like I just finished the Drop, like I was
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: telling you, and we're gonna come back for a second season.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: It's gonna work. People gonna enjoy it, and we're gonna
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: come back for a second season. And I'm gonna be
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: a full time writer.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: So I don't know if you're gonna have time.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: So for people who don't know, the Drop is the
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: spinoff from Snowfall that just got announced on Effects.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: Yes, it's the it's the story of how the La
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: d Boys took their money and start trying to get
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: into the music business.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: So it picks up after Franklin Saint's demise.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and Leon and Wanda, so ISAAA and Gil and
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: so you were brought in initially as a consultant.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: To essentially kind of cultural consultation.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: And ended up being a part of writing, even having
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: a small role in it.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: So you're in episode yeah, oh fire, which is crazy.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: I had a curl that's fire.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: It's funny.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: How cool is that though, to like even like, like,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: you know, we all like love watching certain TV shows,
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: but to kind of see the curtain peel back a little,
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: to kind of see how the medicines made, it's gotta
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: be kind of cool just on some fan ship.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: Like, nah, you know what's cool to writing side, that's
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: what I mean. Yeah, yeah, I saw because I you know,
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: I didn't direct the videos produce my own videos, and
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: tufak One's Died was a movie in his how.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: Just like when you see the writing shit, it's different.
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: That shit is great. It's like the first time I
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: ever walked in everything in my life I had to
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: make adjustments to That's the first thing in my life
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: I ever walked in and found my people. Wow, like
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And it's not just black folks.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: It was all kind of folks in there. Like I
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: never felt such synergy with people as I did with
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: writers Fire.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's something that you want to pursue.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: I've always done it, you know, I mean in terms
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: of like the like.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: On like an FX level, I mean on.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: A Disney level on it whatever's I mean, yeah, any
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: any level. Like I've always been in the writing. Everybody
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: kind of know that about me since fourth and fifth grade,
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: so it was natural. But I'm grateful for Milcolm Spelman
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: give me, giving me the opportunity to help and contribute
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: ideas and just seeing promise and mail and the whole team,
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: the whole staff at Effects, whole staff at Sony, whole
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: staff at Disney. First episodes in September, September eighth.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: I'm excited.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: I feel like I and I'm in the first episode too.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: You're in the first episode, so you were able to
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: screen it.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: You know what we was talking about trying to do it.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Everybody been trying to convince me to do a viewing party.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know about that, but maybe it
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: might be cool, you know what I'm saying, Like I
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: think you know, it would be interesting for sure.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Man, Well, congrats September.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: When is the September eighth?
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: September eighth, So is your streaming your podcast the same
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: thing or they separate on separate.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: The podcast is something that comes out on Tuesday or Wednesday.
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: It's a deeper conversation. The stream is kind of closer
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: to just news that I find any interest in, but
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: the podcast is definitely where my mind is always at.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: Do you feel like because there is like an art
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: to the streaming and talking about your new shit, But
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: like being live on the internet is also like we
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: started doing these live music reviews and it's kind of
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: weird to be like, oh, I can't take nothing back
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: I say.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Here, were in it? Like, you know, it's funny. I've
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: always spoke like I had some sense.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: But it's just like to be live and like, okay,
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: cause you know, sometimes we'll talk about some shit here
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: and I'll be like, yo, makes you cut this out?
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: And then I'll say some shit, Well.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: The best thing is, you know, better than most people
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: whatever I said off camera, I'm pretty much and if
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: I can't rationalize it to my mind and it don't
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: come out of my mouth. Are you still scared of
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: trans people? No? Now, finally I'm not.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: So you're not transphobic anymore.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: No, I have no more fear of trans people at all.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: What broke that for you?
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: You know? What I went down to YouTube deep dive,
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: and I've really came to the conclusion that people really
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: are like who they are. Well, I think more than anything.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: This is gonna sound crazy, but I think part of
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: it is so much chemicals in the food. So many
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: different things can also throw that off. So there are
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: people that are born I think that it's some confusion
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: happening in their life and would different Well.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: There's definitely like gendermysphoria, which is something that is a
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: real thing. But then there I also think there are
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: genuine trans people, but I think that's their points.
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: And I don't really do their truth. But factually speaking, right,
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: people can be like that, but I don't think it's much.
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: I think the confusion would bother me initially, and I
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: don't think at this point. Do you know what, I
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: just stopped caring.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's it's something where it's like it doesn't
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: affect your life.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: Well, I would whoop your ass whether you was a
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: man that thought you hunts all the time, and once
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: you enter into that space, now we just humans, I think,
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: because maybe at one time I wouldn't have tried to
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: whoop your ass. Like I don't know about this now
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: I'll just fuck you up just like whatever.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there was like this like concerted effort
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: from we're in this like weird era of like politics
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: during the Biden shit because Biden did such a horrible
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: job that like it kind of opened the door a
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: little for like Trump to get back in. But also
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: like this like crazy like narrative that like trans people
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: are trying to like fucking like take over the world
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: and like it again, not to say that there wasn't
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: some things you should be like hmm, you know, but
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: at the same time, it's like we're talking about two
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: percent of the population, Like there are much bigger things
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: to be outraged about, be mad about.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: You know, I don't think I was ever upset, Like
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: it was a genuine you were fit. I remember you
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: had the commo you were like, no, I'm scared. But
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: but now at this point is like you know what,
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: you just a regular person. Yeah whatever, you don't get confusion.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: So I think whatever, float your boat to find your
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: loss remote that's a big.
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: Boiling say whatever, you know what I mean. So, but yeah,
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: finally I got over there. So I'm grateful. I'm glad
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: you asked me that. Yeah, man, that's good.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: Hey, we got fucking growth from Glasses man my dog
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: all right, look September eighth, watch the drop.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: He's in it.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: He is a consultant writer on the show, actor an
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: actor and Monday, Wednesday Friday.
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: The stream is whin Ye on noon noon on Pacific

- 1:31:19Speaker 2: Need to make something like this. But we got a

- 1:31:32Speaker 2: you're right.

- 1:31:40Speaker 1: ship would go crazy if he just put it.
