If you’re heading south on I-35 in Northeast San Antonio this weekend, brace for a major headache—TxDOT is shutting down all southbound lanes from Randolph Blvd to Fratt Rd for a full weekend closure starting Friday night at 9 p.m. and lasting until Monday morning at 5 a.m. The work, part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion project, involves installing a massive steel bridge beam and also closes the southbound frontage road and the eastbound Loop 410 flyover.
