- 2:18Speaker 2: What's town you're from? Man? Where'd you go to high
- 2:20Speaker 2: school at? So? I left before high school, but my
- 2:23Speaker 2: brother went to Pari Meridian. I went to Abraham Lincoln Elementary.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But like when I was like eight or nine, that's
- 2:27Speaker 2: when I started like moving around and touring and working
- 2:29Speaker 2: and stuff. But my family's from Marion, and then I
- 2:31Speaker 2: got family.
- 2:32Speaker 3: In like Greenwood area, Okay, a little bit all over
- 2:35Speaker 3: the city.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly exactly. What's that like to start working at
- 2:38Speaker 2: a young age like that. You know what, I'm super
- 2:41Speaker 2: thankful for at the time, not putting too much weight
- 2:44Speaker 2: on it. I was just doing what I had fun doing,
- 2:46Speaker 2: you know. I wasn't like like, man, I got to
- 2:48Speaker 2: do this because I got to. I was just like, yo,
- 2:49Speaker 2: this is fun to do, right, And it just so
- 2:51Speaker 2: happens that transforms like you you know what you want
- 2:54Speaker 2: to do, but then as you get older, you learn
- 2:55Speaker 2: why you want to do it, and so yeah, man,
- 2:59Speaker 2: it's it was dope in that young and I just
- 3:00Speaker 2: I went through the training process that I feel like
- 3:02Speaker 2: people go to school years and years to get because
- 3:04Speaker 2: I was working with so many talented people, you know,
- 3:07Speaker 2: people that came from Alvin Ali or came from the
- 3:09Speaker 2: best music school or whatever. And I was just, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 2: always around greatness. So yeah, it was it was an
- 3:16Speaker 2: honor for sure.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Now we ain't gonna get too far into it, but
- 3:19Speaker 1: you know, see I joking this podcast. You know what
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm saying. As a kid, you know what I'm saying,
- 3:22Speaker 1: he was making that chicken. Now these two just man
- 3:24Speaker 1: go back and forth. That's at that point. If I'm
- 3:26Speaker 1: the kid making the chicken, this is my house.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Oh y'all go you go pull that. But yeah, no,
- 3:33Speaker 3: what's the question.
- 3:34Speaker 1: How's that conversation I'm saying, shout out to the family.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying the rent holder. Dad is like,
- 3:38Speaker 1: all right, now I'm making the bread. Now, yeah here
- 3:40Speaker 1: say you know what I'm saying. If I make the bread,
- 3:42Speaker 1: this is my house.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a village man. For me, I'd
- 3:46Speaker 2: be nothing without my mom, my brother, my family, my
- 3:49Speaker 2: support system. And nothing really feels good if you can't
- 3:53Speaker 2: share it, you know what I'm saying. I always think
- 3:55Speaker 2: about even this is how I knew a type of
- 3:56Speaker 2: person I was. Anytime I have anything that's like delicious,
- 3:59Speaker 2: like food, water, I want to share, I'm like, yo,
- 4:00Speaker 2: you gotta try, right. And that's the same with money,
- 4:02Speaker 2: or that's the same with you know, anything in life.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I want to share good things and watch people that
- 4:06Speaker 2: I love enjoy those things. So is it my house? Sure,
- 4:11Speaker 2: but it's our house, you know, it's a house that
- 4:12Speaker 2: we helped build. And I'm never that person. I've never
- 4:14Speaker 2: been that person. I could never be, you know. But
- 4:17Speaker 2: there are you know, guidelines and boundaries that I think
- 4:19Speaker 2: as long as people respect each other.
- 4:22Speaker 3: But if you wanted to have a party and I
- 4:24Speaker 3: was like, no, no.
- 4:25Speaker 2: No, it's my pum thrown the party. How old am
- 4:28Speaker 2: I hold? Am I thirteen? No? No? No, no, no,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I don't think a kid is a kid, even if
- 4:32Speaker 2: he's making all the money. A kid is a kid.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I don't think a kid should make any grown person decisions.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Right, I love that.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Seventeen Yeah, seventeen. I'd rather eighteen, But seventeen I think
- 4:44Speaker 2: I would fight for it. But if my dad was like, no,
- 4:45Speaker 2: I guess you know what I'm saying. Perspect whatever, Dad
- 4:48Speaker 2: will make the money so I can die.
- 4:49Speaker 3: No, you take the trick, Steve to go over here again. U.
- 5:02Speaker 2: But it's like growing up? What's that like? You know,
- 5:05Speaker 2: have to go to school work, but you like on TV? Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 2: it was to do chores on TV. I hated it, dude, school,
- 5:10Speaker 2: And I don't think it was because I was on TV.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I just I don't think I was built for the
- 5:13Speaker 2: school system, you know what I'm saying. I think a
- 5:14Speaker 2: lot of people weren't built for the school system. And
- 5:17Speaker 2: it's a thing that builds employees and not bosses and entrepreneurs,
- 5:20Speaker 2: and we all know the world is a lot of it.
- 5:22Speaker 2: It's been a lie, right, especially in the school system.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So I hated it because I just felt like I
- 5:26Speaker 2: was being forced to do things that I didn't love.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I was being forced to do things that didn't pique
- 5:30Speaker 2: my interest. And I knew I could do the things
- 5:32Speaker 2: they were asking me, you know. So like if a
- 5:35Speaker 2: teacher comes like, hey, give me six essays, I'm like,
- 5:37Speaker 2: I'll give you one essay and it's gonna be a
- 5:38Speaker 2: fire essay. But I'm not going to give you six
- 5:40Speaker 2: of them, because you know, I don't know. I hated school,
- 5:43Speaker 2: though I guess it sounded like that you didn't like school.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I hated it. Bro, if you could tell your professor
- 5:48Speaker 2: I hate I got one.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I got one tuble for it.
- 5:51Speaker 2: But I'm not gonna say it. I mean, I'd rather
- 5:53Speaker 2: draw a picture or something. You know what I'm saying.
- 5:56Speaker 3: What age did you know you wanted to become like
- 5:58Speaker 3: in this entertainment world?
- 6:00Speaker 2: I was like eight. I knew for I knew it
- 6:02Speaker 2: was what I was meant to do when I was eight,
- 6:03Speaker 2: because I was doing The Lion King the Broadway show,
- 6:05Speaker 2: and I remember I was I was looking at the
- 6:07Speaker 2: front row and everybody was just smiles right, and I
- 6:09Speaker 2: was left their fake smiles or real smiles. But while
- 6:12Speaker 2: I was on stage, people were enjoying life, you know
- 6:15Speaker 2: what I'm saying. And I just wanted to do that.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I want to bring that also now that I'm older,
- 6:19Speaker 2: I want to bring perseverance into that. I feel like
- 6:23Speaker 2: when you're young, you're like, oh, this is gonna happen.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It is going to happen. But once you go through
- 6:26Speaker 2: the real life stuff, it's the gas in the tank
- 6:29Speaker 2: gets low. And there's a lot of people that have
- 6:31Speaker 2: helped me through that. There's a lot of movies that
- 6:33Speaker 2: have helped me through that. So I want to create
- 6:34Speaker 2: projects and things like that too. You know, when people
- 6:38Speaker 2: are at that finish line about to give up, a man,
- 6:40Speaker 2: keep going, amen, keep on one more step. And that's
- 6:42Speaker 2: kind of the what I want to be remembered, you know,
- 6:45Speaker 2: as and what I want to represent because so many people.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Bro my grandfather died last Oh no, it was this year.
- 6:50Speaker 2: My grandfather died this year. But around the same time,
- 6:53Speaker 2: the Superman movie came out, and I was like down
- 6:55Speaker 2: and I was sad, but I went to see it.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I was like, I gotta keep going. You know what
- 6:57Speaker 2: I'm saying. I couldn't break down, you know. But so
- 7:00Speaker 2: things like that, I want to be a part of.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Sorry things, appreciate that.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I appreciate that what's that like on stage eight years
- 7:09Speaker 1: old and like you really getting your shit off, but
- 7:11Speaker 1: like like you really like what's that moment? Like because
- 7:14Speaker 1: you young, but did you realize that moment? Was that crazy?
- 7:17Speaker 1: Or did you have to get older? Realized how to
- 7:18Speaker 1: get older? I had to get older.
- 7:20Speaker 2: That's a big deal. Yeah, yeah, it was huge And
- 7:22Speaker 2: at that time I think too. That's why I feel
- 7:25Speaker 2: like I've been able to do what I've done because
- 7:26Speaker 2: I don't. I try not to put too much pressure
- 7:30Speaker 2: on the moment.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Whenever I do that, I like try to zoom out
- 7:34Speaker 2: and I remember the feelings when I'm on a plane,
- 7:36Speaker 2: or I remember those images you've seen on Instagram, like
- 7:38Speaker 2: this is the universe you pull up, this is the yox.
- 7:39Speaker 2: You know, it's like yo, you know, we can create
- 7:43Speaker 2: how we feel about something because you know, we don't
- 7:45Speaker 2: really know much. So it's like I don't know, man,
- 7:49Speaker 2: did you have like Homeboys or anything like that? Like
- 7:53Speaker 2: I had. Yeah, so people that were in it as well,
- 7:55Speaker 2: so like Lion King because it was tild labor laws
- 7:58Speaker 2: you had to have two similar was two dollars, So
- 7:59Speaker 2: there was girls and boys. We were young and so
- 8:01Speaker 2: we'd be you know doing school. So it'll be like
- 8:03Speaker 2: the first from eleven to four, we had school, have
- 8:06Speaker 2: an hour break, then you have the show. You work
- 8:08Speaker 2: the first hour of the show, you're on stage the
- 8:09Speaker 2: whole hour, and then the second hour you're sitting backstage
- 8:12Speaker 2: doing more school work. Then you probably get out of
- 8:15Speaker 2: the theater around eleven PM. You're on a high from
- 8:17Speaker 2: the show. Yeah, do that eight times a week. Hell,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I did that for three years. Cool.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah, you did that for three years.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I did that for three and a half years, from
- 8:24Speaker 2: eight years old to eleven.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it was meant to do this ship.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah working Yeah, real job, no, real job. Yeah, I'm cool. Yeah, eight,
- 8:34Speaker 2: I was watching Progress listen New York. Now, this was
- 8:37Speaker 2: a tour, so it's the same Broadway shows everywhere. So
- 8:40Speaker 2: it's like I did two years on the East Coast
- 8:42Speaker 2: on the two, then I did a year on the
- 8:44Speaker 2: West Coast. No, bro, I think anything anybody wants to do,
- 8:47Speaker 2: they can do. You know what I'm saying.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Eight the moment they told me out there, I could.
- 8:55Speaker 3: But you you really don't know. For real, I knew
- 8:58Speaker 3: and it was lit. My dad used to make us
- 8:59Speaker 3: play basket the whole time. Yeah, I want to go
- 9:02Speaker 3: all that flight over there. You played basketball at the
- 9:04Speaker 3: same park. He dinna take you to Chicago, l A.
- 9:06Speaker 3: You don't know the difference. Different city they get the
- 9:09Speaker 3: weather's different.
- 9:10Speaker 2: You don't know.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Outside by the time he was seeing it was probably groovy.
- 9:19Speaker 3: We talk about him like.
- 9:23Speaker 2: We talk about toys. That's one thing I can be
- 9:26Speaker 2: super thankful for my mom. She always made sure I
- 9:28Speaker 2: was a kid too, you know, allowed me to I
- 9:31Speaker 2: was a skateboarder, I was heavy skateboarding. I played ball too,
- 9:33Speaker 2: But those are like my two things. And uh, at
- 9:35Speaker 2: one point she kind of was like because I started
- 9:38Speaker 2: getting more and more into skating and people were like,
- 9:40Speaker 2: hey man, these kids like can skateboard, Like what should
- 9:42Speaker 2: we do? And she kind of like saving. I was like,
- 9:44Speaker 2: you have to make a choice now, because I want
- 9:45Speaker 2: you to do what you really want. You want to skate,
- 9:47Speaker 2: you want to, you know, do the other thing. And
- 9:49Speaker 2: I'll say, I want to do the other thing. But
- 9:50Speaker 2: I love skating, you know, I mean mom, Yeah, she's
- 9:53Speaker 2: a great mom. Shout out, how did you balance?
- 9:56Speaker 3: Like I know you said your mom lets you be
- 9:57Speaker 3: a kid, but I'm sure when you got older it
- 9:59Speaker 3: got hard. A few to do, like, how did you
- 10:00Speaker 3: maintain your outside life and your entertainment.
- 10:04Speaker 2: There's no rule book on that, you know, kind of
- 10:07Speaker 2: trial and error, trialing area you feel me. But again,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I I always stay true to I think what I
- 10:13Speaker 2: wanted to do. I never felt enclosed or trapped by anything,
- 10:17Speaker 2: and I think living that way promotes happiness and promotes
- 10:21Speaker 2: peace and kind of you know, you're you're just in
- 10:24Speaker 2: a better space. But I feel like people who feel
- 10:26Speaker 2: like they're in a cage, whether it's their job or
- 10:28Speaker 2: whether it's oh I got to wear this or I
- 10:29Speaker 2: gotta do that, just people conform, you know what I'm
- 10:31Speaker 2: saying all the time, because they just want to like
- 10:33Speaker 2: you know, but I've never been able to do that,
- 10:36Speaker 2: and I think that's been a big impact on my work,
- 10:38Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Cool?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Cool?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Cool?
- 10:41Speaker 3: When did you start fucking with them? Girls?
- 10:43Speaker 2: Boy? Uh?
- 10:46Speaker 3: I want the real I'm trying to think.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I'm like, man five five.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So lit, I'm like, shit, how do you know how
- 10:58Speaker 3: to pick them?
- 10:59Speaker 2: Hey?
- 10:59Speaker 1: Man?
- 10:59Speaker 2: It's hall alright. I think especially in entertainment, in any
- 11:03Speaker 2: in any form, you know, whether it's sports or acting
- 11:06Speaker 2: or music, and especially the time that we are living
- 11:10Speaker 2: in is a lot of people are just uh, hypocrites
- 11:14Speaker 2: in the biggest sense of the words. Like the girl
- 11:16Speaker 2: that says she doesn't want the guys, the same girl
- 11:18Speaker 2: that's listening to the music that promotes and creates guys
- 11:20Speaker 2: like that. You know what I'm saying. It's like we
- 11:22Speaker 2: kind of live in a.
- 11:24Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. That's right there. Yeah, but
- 11:29Speaker 3: he always don't have accountability, so that kind.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Of flows women on accountable. J That's the thing we
- 11:48Speaker 2: got to go to show. He does it. He loves it.
- 11:51Speaker 2: He always he always says that is lyrics. Yeah, you
- 11:57Speaker 2: gotta cheak because you can sing tu.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 2: He was probably wild, and man, I respect it.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It's funny though.
- 12:01Speaker 2: You know, we all have that time where you wasn't
- 12:02Speaker 2: you know, it wasn't working. I feel like from like
- 12:05Speaker 2: age twelve to like sixteen, I was, you know, come on,
- 12:10Speaker 2: pick me. You know what I mean here, Like if
- 12:13Speaker 2: I do it, run, you know what I'm saying, real quickly,
- 12:16Speaker 2: you won't get no hold.
- 12:20Speaker 4: To a four years respect I mean, g for the
- 12:29Speaker 4: cameras I'm talking about this, no, but you know what
- 12:35Speaker 4: I mean, Like the one you wanted maybe.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Girl, but you know, the one I wanted, the one. Yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 2: every girl like I got that's four yea.
- 12:45Speaker 3: You you you hearm At that point you started that
- 12:48Speaker 3: hey you know, take you eight years.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And it went from it went from okay, let's put
- 12:54Speaker 2: it this way.
- 12:55Speaker 1: It went from here you get done.
- 13:00Speaker 2: It was alright to get the girl I wanted to
- 13:03Speaker 2: me not having to try. Maybe that's it's like I'd
- 13:07Speaker 2: be like, oh, I really want that, and yo. It
- 13:09Speaker 2: was more maybe performative or maybe I tried harder. And
- 13:12Speaker 2: then something turned where it was like, you know, to
- 13:15Speaker 2: do much. I just like, hey, how's it going? And
- 13:19Speaker 2: that's that's it? Damn my boy, my boy like that, yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 2: get the yes. Before I still had to be like,
- 13:27Speaker 2: come on, come on, come on.
- 13:34Speaker 1: That super flow, ain't you ain't got to say that.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I walk.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I don't know what you tell me.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Here, man, you have a roll a lot different things,
- 13:53Speaker 1: but Superfly. How was it like being the main man
- 13:56Speaker 1: in the movie? That movie?
- 13:58Speaker 2: That was an honor? Dude. I was twenty years old
- 13:59Speaker 2: and I did that. I was a baby, you know,
- 14:01Speaker 2: so it was really a dream come true. I grew
- 14:03Speaker 2: up watching The Matrix, I grew up watching Blade, so
- 14:06Speaker 2: wearing a long leather jacket and whipping ass was a
- 14:08Speaker 2: dream of mine that came true working on that project
- 14:11Speaker 2: and my dad. I remember when I was like seven
- 14:13Speaker 2: or eight years old, he made me watch that movie,
- 14:15Speaker 2: the Old One. Yeah. I was like, why is he
- 14:17Speaker 2: so excited for me to watch this? But I just
- 14:20Speaker 2: saw a lot of joy in his face and happiness
- 14:22Speaker 2: and it meant something to him. Even at that age,
- 14:24Speaker 2: I didn't know what it meant. So when I was auditioning,
- 14:27Speaker 2: they actually didn't want me to play the lead. They
- 14:29Speaker 2: want me to play the bad guy, the leader of
- 14:31Speaker 2: snow Patrol. And it was like one of the first
- 14:33Speaker 2: times I went into an audition. I was like, I
- 14:34Speaker 2: don't want to do this. I want to be the dude.
- 14:37Speaker 2: And they were like, well, well, you know, maybe here's
- 14:39Speaker 2: the sides and go and you can come back and read.
- 14:41Speaker 2: And that's kind of how that went down. Yeah, dude,
- 14:44Speaker 2: that was a dream come true.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Honestly, that's fire for popston On to be tacking with
- 14:48Speaker 1: the originals.
- 14:48Speaker 2: How did you tell him that you got the row?
- 14:50Speaker 3: I called him.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But then when we were at the premiere, me and
- 14:53Speaker 2: him had an awesome moment where we were watching it
- 14:55Speaker 2: and It was probably like my first time really watching,
- 14:57Speaker 2: you know, because when you do something you really want
- 14:59Speaker 2: to look at it. You like, you know, done all
- 15:01Speaker 2: these premiere screenings, I don't want to see it. But
- 15:03Speaker 2: for some reason, my dad was there. We built for
- 15:04Speaker 2: watching and then we looked at each other and we
- 15:06Speaker 2: laughed like twenty minutes, like throughout the whole thing, just
- 15:08Speaker 2: because we could not believe what was happening. It's like, Yo,
- 15:11Speaker 2: he's just like what, I'm like what, It's crazy, right,
- 15:14Speaker 2: there's a special moment for sure. Hell of a movie man.
- 15:17Speaker 1: He was a pimp at New Karate say, some people
- 15:21Speaker 1: are method actors. How did you get in that bad?
- 15:23Speaker 3: I've already done much.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I've done much WUSS for a long time since I
- 15:26Speaker 2: was like yeah ten, So that part wasn't the more
- 15:28Speaker 2: difficult part. But I think, just yeah, just trying to
- 15:32Speaker 2: find a new person, a new character. It's funny because
- 15:34Speaker 2: a lot of people who met me after that were like, oh,
- 15:36Speaker 2: you don't talk like that, or I'm like, no, guys,
- 15:39Speaker 2: don't talk like.
- 15:40Speaker 3: That at all.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's a character I was playing somebody else, or you know,
- 15:45Speaker 2: I have people really try and make plays with me. Also,
- 15:47Speaker 2: after seeing it. I'm like, guys, I don't this isn't
- 15:50Speaker 2: semi profession.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I was.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I was at the bowling all and the due walked.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Up in front. He's like, Yo, you should see what
- 15:58Speaker 2: I got in the trunk. And that's some stuff.
- 15:59Speaker 3: I said, Buddy, I'm trying to ball man.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Thank you, though, appreciate the luckless God bless.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Don't talk like.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You ain't got the where is We usually have a
- 16:17Speaker 1: bar tender on our show. She would drop all the
- 16:20Speaker 1: way to Mexico, so that's probably for sure.
- 16:24Speaker 2: She would have been great in that.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Movie for sure. Runner shout out the bar.
- 16:30Speaker 1: But that is hilarious though, because we all not judge people.
- 16:33Speaker 1: We all assume people are there. It's certain people ain't
- 16:36Speaker 1: no matter what they do, they're gonna be that.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Exactly from how they did Tyreek the Luttle Chris Game.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I felt bad for Buddy. I said, No, TV is real,
- 16:45Speaker 3: really be locked into that ship like guys to drive.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Is that the only time that you've ever been approached
- 16:50Speaker 3: like that about the road?
- 16:51Speaker 1: No?
- 16:52Speaker 2: I cant approached about a lot of stuff when I
- 16:53Speaker 2: was doing Brownish. Why you do something like that? I
- 16:55Speaker 2: get that all the time, My guys, it was in
- 16:57Speaker 2: the script. Did my job If I was creating Grown,
- 17:01Speaker 2: I've been making a lot more money now. They got
- 17:04Speaker 2: to be a good feeling though you did your jeft
- 17:06Speaker 2: So what people were like? Bolled in, like, yeah, yeah,
- 17:08Speaker 2: I'm super thankful man. I love fan interactions. I was
- 17:12Speaker 2: a fan first before I was an artist. I am
- 17:14Speaker 2: obsessed with movies, I'm obsessed with TV shows, I'm obsessed
- 17:17Speaker 2: with artists, so I really understand what it's like to
- 17:20Speaker 2: be on the other side. So whenever I meet a
- 17:21Speaker 2: fan or a person, I always trying to give them
- 17:23Speaker 2: all my attention, all my love because I know how
- 17:25Speaker 2: impacted I was when I was meeting somebody that I
- 17:28Speaker 2: looked up to. You know what I'm saying, you can
- 17:29Speaker 2: really change the course of somebody's life with one word,
- 17:32Speaker 2: with one high, with one hug. So when I see
- 17:34Speaker 2: these artists and people out here being rude and I
- 17:36Speaker 2: can't stand it, that's like you didn't ask me. But
- 17:38Speaker 2: that's when I'm just like, why, bro, why put the
- 17:42Speaker 2: cape on if you don't want to be Superman? Like,
- 17:43Speaker 2: it don't makes sense.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I like that.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I want to ask you this, did you catch off
- 17:47Speaker 1: FLA or any flag for being a burden, saying, oh yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 1: a bunch of flag.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah. But that movie came out, the Greek community was
- 17:53Speaker 2: very upset about it. Yeah, they were very mad. Here's
- 17:55Speaker 2: how I look at that though. If I were to
- 17:56Speaker 2: make a movie about a basketball player who did steroids,
- 18:00Speaker 2: doesn't mean every basketball player does steroids, but this particular
- 18:02Speaker 2: person just steroids, and we were kind of showing, you know,
- 18:06Speaker 2: how people can abuse power. You know what I'm saying.
- 18:08Speaker 2: That happens in every level of life. I think, yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 2: and anybody who does that should be, you know, exposed.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Listen, man, the NBA is heating up, and you know

- 19:31Speaker 3: What was one of the hardest roles you can played?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Bernie says, I think was one of the hardest ones.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I think that's the deepest I've gone into something, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 2: where I didn't really feel like me.
- 19:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 19:42Speaker 2: It was just a process that I tried to make
- 19:45Speaker 2: even harder than it already was. I just tried to
- 19:47Speaker 2: not get sleep. I just tried to you know, put
- 19:49Speaker 2: myself in there in that space. So that was difficult.
- 19:53Speaker 2: And then also I did a Broadway New York City Center.
- 19:57Speaker 2: On Broadway, they have this like weak thing where they
- 19:59Speaker 2: bring back super old player and they bring it back
- 20:01Speaker 2: to Broadway for like maybe a week. And I did
- 20:02Speaker 2: the Tap Dance Kid, and that was one of the
- 20:03Speaker 2: hardest things I've ever done. Yeah, man, tapping for two hours,
- 20:07Speaker 2: learning eleven different songs. It was it was insane. Damn
- 20:10Speaker 2: yeah that's crazy. Ye yeah, it was nuts. It was nuts.
- 20:13Speaker 1: How do you like get out of that character? How
- 20:14Speaker 1: long does it take you to get out of that?
- 20:16Speaker 1: Like mo We talked to a couple of other actors
- 20:17Speaker 1: and they was like, man, it took me three months.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Again, I'm sure I couldn't get out of Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yeah, still there, Bron good enough shout the Columbia we
- 20:25Speaker 1: talk We talked to Colombo.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Like y'all had that for how long?
- 20:39Speaker 3: How long do we you said?
- 20:41Speaker 2: Come out. I think me ship.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Me, dude, I'm just trying to think.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Maybe burning SAMs was maybe a week or so. But
- 20:58Speaker 2: also I don't I don't give too And I also
- 21:00Speaker 2: haven't had a role where I've had to go that crazy.
- 21:02Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I like when people change
- 21:04Speaker 2: the voice. I like when people change the walk. I
- 21:06Speaker 2: haven't had to do that yet. I would like to
- 21:08Speaker 2: for a project. So who knows if I go that
- 21:12Speaker 2: deep into a role how long it would take. But
- 21:13Speaker 2: so far it hasn't been too crazy for me. What's
- 21:15Speaker 2: the road that you wanted or almost had that you
- 21:17Speaker 2: didn't get with? What's the road that you didn't you
- 21:19Speaker 2: was nothing on? It'll being cool? Sorry seven more time?
- 21:24Speaker 2: What's one road you passed on? Okay? That being something?
- 21:27Speaker 2: What's wrong with that? You were like, dang, I was
- 21:28Speaker 2: trying to get it didn't work out, but it'd being
- 21:29Speaker 2: something crazy, bro, pretty much everything you've seen with a
- 21:33Speaker 2: black guy my age. I probably you know what I'm saying. Snowfall,
- 21:38Speaker 2: Remember I just for like eight times I got casted
- 21:41Speaker 2: by Sorry, I'm spacing Snowfall. Which role was you going
- 21:46Speaker 2: in for Snowfall? The main dude? Yeah, John Singleton casted
- 21:51Speaker 2: me and then he took the Castidy cast it to
- 21:53Speaker 2: Network and they were like, recast the whole thing in
- 21:56Speaker 2: the new cast, So you have So that was the
- 21:57Speaker 2: That would have been fun. But I think everything happened
- 22:00Speaker 2: for a reason. I think Danson is a beast. You
- 22:01Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, facts, and that's how it works.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And that's why I do love this industry for some
- 22:07Speaker 2: reasons that people may hate it, but I just think
- 22:08Speaker 2: everything is meant for who it's meant for, you know
- 22:11Speaker 2: what I'm saying, and it goes the way it's supposed
- 22:13Speaker 2: to go. So I'm super thankful every time I feel
- 22:16Speaker 2: like I really wanted something it didn't work out. It
- 22:17Speaker 2: made sense, it didn't happen for me, And even outside
- 22:21Speaker 2: of entertainment in life, whether that's a relationship or a
- 22:24Speaker 2: car or a place I've decided to move, but I
- 22:26Speaker 2: really wanted that and it just works out. You gotta
- 22:29Speaker 2: trust the trust the plan.
- 22:30Speaker 1: For sure, you were supposed to be our producer is
- 22:32Speaker 1: a jerk because he put it in Black Panther.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Did you see that, Jeff? I don't think that he
- 22:35Speaker 2: auditioned to be Black Panther. That is crazy. He said,
- 22:38Speaker 2: all black movie. He went a black panther, Black panther. Yeah,
- 22:40Speaker 2: that's messed up. That's mess spect now. But a dream
- 22:46Speaker 2: role is anything Marvel, anything DC. That's my dream. I'm
- 22:49Speaker 2: a I'm a nerd man. I'm obsessed with all of
- 22:52Speaker 2: those those characters and stories, and I want to play
- 22:56Speaker 2: one bad.
- 22:57Speaker 1: DJ know all that they ain't type in for the
- 22:59Speaker 1: Greenland reboot. I'm a little I already got them. Yeah,
- 23:03Speaker 1: it's gonna be hard, though, attacking with you. I'm the
- 23:05Speaker 1: home team.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate it. I want to do I want
- 23:09Speaker 2: to do an older Mars and Riles. I want to
- 23:10Speaker 2: do a Silper Surfer. I want to do a blue
- 23:12Speaker 2: Marvel maybe, or a back Batman, the Black Batman. I
- 23:17Speaker 2: ain't gonna lie. He was talking about Ice Current just now.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It's some Ice Current. I gotta get you some comic books, man,
- 23:27Speaker 2: I ain't got you get You're good for life. Yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 2: but also I'm a fan of those. I feel like
- 23:38Speaker 2: a lot of people are like those are great actors,
- 23:39Speaker 2: and they put him in those mon But I've watched
- 23:41Speaker 2: those every single Marvel movie that comes out, every single
- 23:43Speaker 2: DC movie. I'm front Road, So just have someone that
- 23:47Speaker 2: passionate about it too played. I think he said Blade, Yeah,
- 23:49Speaker 2: that Blade movie never coming out. I don't believe him.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I'd love to play Blade too, son of Blade. Come on,
- 23:56Speaker 2: Blade would be crazy. Come on, you already got you
- 23:58Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. You him, Jacket than the kicks?
- 24:00Speaker 3: You good Blade?
- 24:01Speaker 2: This old boy in it last night. I ain't never
- 24:04Speaker 2: seen Blood. What was that? I ain't never seen any
- 24:07Speaker 2: of them, the first couple. I never seen Blade.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'm really the wrong person.
- 24:11Speaker 2: He didn't watch movies. We're just talking about the black
- 24:13Speaker 2: superhir that brought Marvel to the forefront. That was Blade,
- 24:16Speaker 2: right before Marvel and games seen in the game Infinity War.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yeah, Bro, that's why I'm fantastic. Watched it, Okay, I say,
- 24:24Speaker 3: I say fantastic for okakay, which I don't watch script
- 24:27Speaker 3: and stuff. Volume fantastic. I seemed like Volume thirty seven seven.
- 24:35Speaker 3: You know what fantastic, bro, I'm talking about thirty seven
- 24:39Speaker 3: the real fantastic home DVD.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Straight to the you get this, get this on your
- 24:53Speaker 2: local professional Bro, we can't do that.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Cool.
- 24:58Speaker 2: You're telling the bootleg version of the it's not gonna
- 25:04Speaker 2: be some just like that I got set up talk
- 25:10Speaker 2: to us about the music. Though, Man, I want to
- 25:13Speaker 2: work with like, oh man, I want to work with everybody. Dog,
- 25:16Speaker 2: I'm open. I like being inspired, so you know, new energy,
- 25:20Speaker 2: new new music is always fun. But I just dropped
- 25:22Speaker 2: an album. It's called I Love You Goodbye, the break
- 25:24Speaker 2: up album of all time. I'm super, super proud of
- 25:26Speaker 2: this project. It's the most vulnerable I've ever been on record,
- 25:29Speaker 2: and it.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Saved so he toxic, not me.
- 25:34Speaker 2: It's not me. No, nobody's toxic.
- 25:35Speaker 3: It just didn't work out, you know what I'm saying.
- 25:41Speaker 2: But I'm super just thankful because I was in it.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I was in a dark spot. Bro I tore my achilles.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I was after the breakup. Two weeks I tore my
- 25:49Speaker 2: achilles and then I had to come back to l A.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I was in a cast for like a week and
- 25:54Speaker 2: then I had surgery. But yeah, within like the first
- 25:56Speaker 2: two weeks after I got back, I made the album
- 25:58Speaker 2: and it just it helped me a lot. And so
- 26:00Speaker 2: again what I was talking about before, how I just
- 26:02Speaker 2: want to help people through those times. That's what this
- 26:05Speaker 2: album is. You're going through a breakup, press play on
- 26:07Speaker 2: this you'll hear a record, you'll understand, You'll connect with something.
- 26:10Speaker 2: And that's what I want to do, is just be
- 26:11Speaker 2: honest about my journey and share it.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I remember saying you on the remixes it was a
- 26:17Speaker 3: wild Oh yeah, boy trying to tap here.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I'll just be be doing my thing. Man, we love
- 26:23Speaker 1: RB music. I asked if you ever made a song
- 26:25Speaker 1: and then you got a call from somebody about it?
- 26:27Speaker 2: No, No, I will never be that specific. I'm saying.
- 26:32Speaker 2: They won't be a little call. They won't know who
- 26:34Speaker 2: it is saying I wanted to wonder eight and twelve. Good.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I bet you think this song is about. Now?
- 26:44Speaker 3: Are you a real coach?
- 26:45Speaker 2: Maan?
- 26:45Speaker 3: You just ripping the jacket?
- 26:47Speaker 2: Hey man, I'm from Indiana. I'm a coach fan. You
- 26:49Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. Now. Do I watch the coach player? No,
- 26:51Speaker 2: I don't watch them play every single time they play.
- 26:53Speaker 2: But I am from Indiana. You're going to the game. Yeah,
- 26:56Speaker 2: I'm going to the game. You got big duties at
- 26:58Speaker 2: the game? Yeah, I'm saying national anthem? Yeah?
- 27:01Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Is there any pressure in the situation? Is like singing
- 27:04Speaker 1: it amongst that me? I know you've been on big stage.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I just performed it the so far so that
- 27:09Speaker 2: was that was the most people I've ever seen in
- 27:10Speaker 2: front of seventy thousand people, Lucas, I ain't that many, right,
- 27:13Speaker 2: how many luks? So probably fifty fifty, fifty thousand, twenty thousand.
- 27:18Speaker 2: It's always I'm always feel a little pressure that when
- 27:20Speaker 2: I perform. You know what I'm saying. I always think
- 27:22Speaker 2: your last performance is your you know, matters the most.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what you did before, So the most
- 27:28Speaker 2: important thing is your last performance. But yeah, it should
- 27:30Speaker 2: be fun, dude. I'm gonna be with my family, people
- 27:33Speaker 2: that I love and respect, and get to do it
- 27:35Speaker 2: for the city. So I'm stoked.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I'm hyped to go to that game of night and
- 27:40Speaker 1: National ends always winning because everybody's looking at you with
- 27:42Speaker 1: that more I was like, I know you've been say that.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I feel like that's a little nerve bouring when everybody
- 27:45Speaker 1: really looking at you because they just wait for somebody
- 27:47Speaker 1: to mess up. Oh yeah, for sure, Like what's the
- 27:50Speaker 1: old girl who with that? Fergie all listen? Y has
- 27:55Speaker 1: one of the worst National athms of all time, destroyed who.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Stopped in the middle of He was like, Carl, what
- 28:03Speaker 2: was it? Runner?
- 28:04Speaker 3: Winslow.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Carl, he was a sprinter. He's gotta look away.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Like the laboo.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You don't worry about. He got was a sprinter. Bro,
- 28:18Speaker 2: he's in the national anthem. Yeah, Carl, carlis one is nasty.
- 28:23Speaker 3: He's not reason being up here.
- 28:24Speaker 2: He slapped.
- 28:28Speaker 1: That tonight, brom cool bro handloaded up, Carl, hold on,
- 28:35Speaker 1: hold on what you're talking about.
- 28:39Speaker 5: I just want to see what he's talking about. I
- 28:42Speaker 5: don't think I've ever seen it. Yeah, hear me out
- 28:58Speaker 5: forgot the worst. Yeah, he never got the words.
- 29:15Speaker 2: You've ever seen that. I want to give him a hug.
- 29:18Speaker 3: That's a classic bro Bad Bad He's wrong as hell.
- 29:23Speaker 6: Man, he's a white man.
- 29:27Speaker 3: That's a classic video. First, that's the bulls are there?
- 29:30Speaker 1: Bro know he did in the presence of Michael Jordan's
- 29:33Speaker 1: He is really out of pocket to go that outfit.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Is crazy to you him to go.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Sing that anyway, Bro, But he said, music or acting, I.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Guess it depends. It depends on the role. It depends
- 29:55Speaker 2: on the role, right, how much the role demands. I
- 29:58Speaker 2: think music to me come a little bit easier just
- 30:02Speaker 2: because I feel like I have more hours in there.
- 30:04Speaker 2: You know, you work on a set when you get
- 30:06Speaker 2: booked for a job. But I'm in the studio every day,
- 30:08Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. I'm working on music, I'm
- 30:10Speaker 2: listening to music, I'm editing a song, going back and
- 30:12Speaker 2: rewriting a song. So I'm always in there. So it
- 30:15Speaker 2: comes a little easier for sure, you know, and especially
- 30:17Speaker 2: when I have sessions and stuff like it just be flowing.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I absolutely love it.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Is there any differences in performing music and in performing
- 30:26Speaker 1: like say, a live play or a live action situation?
- 30:30Speaker 2: So sorry, seven more time? Is there any difference between
- 30:32Speaker 2: the two for you?
- 30:33Speaker 1: I know, obviously you're pretty good at what you do,
- 30:34Speaker 1: but is there a difference when you're performing your music
- 30:36Speaker 1: on stage or is it difference when you're like doing
- 30:37Speaker 1: a live play or something like that?
- 30:38Speaker 2: Is there differently a live play? Okay, okay, dude, I'm
- 30:43Speaker 2: gonna be honest. When I'm doing the play was one
- 30:45Speaker 2: of the hardest things because it's not just the song, right,
- 30:47Speaker 2: You're like remember to act and you're still dancing and
- 30:49Speaker 2: you're moving your breath work.
- 30:51Speaker 3: And all that.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Like that's just way more difficult. When I'm doing my music,
- 30:54Speaker 2: it's my show, and if I want to take a seat.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I'm wanna take a seat if I need some water,
- 30:57Speaker 2: and like hold on, you know what I mean? I can,
- 31:00Speaker 2: I can do what I want. But if it's someone
- 31:02Speaker 2: else production, I got to do the job for sure.
- 31:05Speaker 2: You no way. We did a commercial here the other day.
- 31:08Speaker 2: We had seventeen takes.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I said, two words, that's small, that's not that's not
- 31:13Speaker 1: that many takes for eight hours? Ain't no way, ain't
- 31:16Speaker 1: know what's for eight hours?
- 31:17Speaker 2: Bro? I got a spike for you.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Man.
- 31:19Speaker 2: He was an elite man. Hell now he got it.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Now he ate.
- 31:26Speaker 2: We did that for eight hours?
- 31:27Speaker 3: I said, complaining, I said, damn, I said, what's up?
- 31:31Speaker 2: Bro? Wait what I've been on set for seventeen hours?
- 31:35Speaker 2: Eighteen hours?
- 31:36Speaker 3: You know?
- 31:36Speaker 2: Man?
- 31:37Speaker 3: He man.
- 31:37Speaker 2: And it also depends too again it's like is it
- 31:40Speaker 2: something you really want to do? And that is a
- 31:42Speaker 2: difference too, like if we're doing it for because I've
- 31:44Speaker 2: definitely done something for money right where I'm like, Okay,
- 31:46Speaker 2: I just this ain't really what i want. But I'm
- 31:48Speaker 2: gonna get a little back off. This probably gonna be
- 31:50Speaker 2: looking at the phone a little more. But if it's
- 31:52Speaker 2: like yo, I'm getting to do this thing, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 2: it's a little bit different. So I guess it just
- 31:56Speaker 2: kind of depends on what it is.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Yeah, he could plaint the whole motherfucking day.
- 32:00Speaker 6: I did not.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I just asked why. I got two words and I
- 32:03Speaker 1: got to be here this long because I'm not I'm one.
- 32:08Speaker 1: I'm like ho in the booth, like one take, I
- 32:11Speaker 1: gave you.
- 32:12Speaker 2: What you need.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I got when I when he said I had to
- 32:15Speaker 3: think about it, like you did only say two words.
- 32:16Speaker 2: I said two words. I said, what up?
- 32:18Speaker 1: Bro?
- 32:20Speaker 2: Eight hours later? What up?
- 32:28Speaker 3: It's no disst. I just want to know what is
- 32:30Speaker 3: the point of all that time being taken up?
- 32:33Speaker 2: Like, well, that can also be this look. Sometimes there's
- 32:36Speaker 2: a because I've also been here, right. So when you're
- 32:39Speaker 2: working on a show, so like I'm gonna raising addim
- 32:41Speaker 2: right now, and you have different directors or grown as
- 32:43Speaker 2: you have different directors, sometimes they bring a director who
- 32:46Speaker 2: maybe yes, they've done stuff, but they might not know
- 32:49Speaker 2: what they want. And a lot of actors don't like
- 32:51Speaker 2: directors like that because you having here all day because
- 32:53Speaker 2: you don't know what you want. So you're trying to
- 32:55Speaker 2: cover your butt by shooting every shot, every angle, all
- 32:58Speaker 2: the wides, all the mediums. Let me come here so
- 33:00Speaker 2: that in the editing room you have more freedom. But
- 33:02Speaker 2: the best directors, to me, the best directors are actors
- 33:05Speaker 2: who who understand acting and understand what they need and
- 33:08Speaker 2: go in there and know the shots that they want
- 33:09Speaker 2: to be like okay, boom, all right, let's move in tighter, boom, okay,
- 33:12Speaker 2: let's turn around boom okay, and I need one word
- 33:14Speaker 2: of this boom instead of people like, oh, but what
- 33:17Speaker 2: if we you know what I mean? Now, we got
- 33:18Speaker 2: to be here while you trying to you know what
- 33:19Speaker 2: I'm saying, So I guess it just it depends on
- 33:22Speaker 2: the person to direct it.
- 33:23Speaker 3: No one is the best, you know what I mean? Boy,
- 33:26Speaker 3: he did it. We were just we never did it before.
- 33:29Speaker 3: So we were like, bro, we're only saying this, you know,
- 33:31Speaker 3: I mean, minimum work. Why the hell are we here
- 33:33Speaker 3: for a whole workships trust process. Man came out dope
- 33:36Speaker 3: as well. I gotta come out definitely being on y'all.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Fuddy actually love it. We love they no commercial.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I can't see it. Eight hours to do it was
- 33:50Speaker 2: like it was a one minute video.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Literally I said two words. I loved it, but I
- 33:57Speaker 1: just couldn't believe I had to be there a long.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I said, I ain't order ship.
- 34:01Speaker 2: You got to play it. Let me see, let me see.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Listen, we appreciate y'all. We'll catch y'all next time. Club
- 34:06Speaker 1: five to twenty we out all right, good stuff y'all, Yo.
- 34:10Speaker 2: What's good, Brod.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Welcome to the family. I left the care package by
- 34:17Speaker 3: your front door, so just go check it out. Let
- 34:19Speaker 3: me know what you think. Peace damn. We're pulling up alright.
- 34:22Speaker 1: With the ship.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Go be his goot lines.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Yeahs, family, man, I'm back. You got heay, Club five twenty,
- 34:35Speaker 3: it's the last outer gate.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Nasty hard in ten.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I'm wrong, he's wrong.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Welcome to the fan, though, Margret, and we appreciate your family,
- 34:48Speaker 1: like this history right here.
- 34:49Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, y'all deserve it.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Bro the first podcast with a shoot deal. We're grateful.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Let's go black man, Let's go right on right man,
- 35:01Speaker 2: one time for the one time that's fire.
- 35:04Speaker 1: You want something, I get you some superstars, please, yeah, please, White,
- 35:08Speaker 1: you will let you pick your I take all white joints,
- 35:13Speaker 1: classic Paie respect.
- 35:15Speaker 2: They give it hard Howard. These every day those are cool.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Those are classics for sure.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Good dude right here, these are Yeah they're bad bunnies. Yeah,
- 35:26Speaker 3: bad bunnies.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I get the memo that man talking, man I.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Got now, okay we're here. Who we're talking about? How
- 35:35Speaker 3: he is? So? How many times are you gonna wear
- 35:39Speaker 3: a press shoes like throughout the week the same pair? Yeah?
- 35:44Speaker 2: Oh, however many times I feel like, you know what
- 35:47Speaker 2: I mean, I don't have like a real real I
- 35:49Speaker 2: don't have I don't have a rule. Sometimes, Oh you
- 35:53Speaker 2: prefer to be barefoot, But if I have to, that's
- 35:56Speaker 2: the kunk food coming out. If I have to wear shoes,
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'll probably wear ten or you too.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I ain't never been stuck on the show that one.
- 36:08Speaker 3: That haven't got me playing it right there? DJ? What
- 36:16Speaker 3: wrong with that?
- 36:17Speaker 6: Hey man?
- 36:17Speaker 2: I like to touch the grass, you know what I'm saying?
- 36:19Speaker 3: Grass or touch earthly good?
- 36:21Speaker 2: Because you know the bottom of the most ten shoes
- 36:23Speaker 2: is rubber disconnects you from it, it does. We ain't
- 36:28Speaker 2: do the science signs sigence behind it. You know. It
- 36:30Speaker 2: ain't a conductor as a muter and mutes the electricity.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Sorry's move on. He locked it for sure. I'm glad
- 36:39Speaker 1: you want some shoes in here. We appreciate you not
- 36:41Speaker 1: coming on the bare foot.
- 36:43Speaker 3: You need you as you walking around side l a
- 36:47Speaker 3: few shoes about they gotta fight before the player down,
- 36:59Speaker 3: be real, for real, real, you know, just the guy.
- 37:05Speaker 1: We love.
- 37:06Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 37:08Speaker 1: What's it like Jordan's show with such a heavy coat following, because,
- 37:11Speaker 1: like I imagine that fan base. As soon as you
- 37:13Speaker 1: pop into an episode, they either hate you or love you,
- 37:16Speaker 1: but they locked in either way.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Yeah, thankfully it's been all love. And I think the
- 37:22Speaker 2: most amazing part is the people on that show Man,
- 37:24Speaker 2: the cast, the crew, top producers, but as people, not
- 37:29Speaker 2: just like what they do their job with. Like as people,
- 37:32Speaker 2: They're warm, they're welcoming, they're supportive, and that's all you
- 37:36Speaker 2: want as a as an actor. You want to feel
- 37:38Speaker 2: safe to make choices. You want to feel safe and
- 37:41Speaker 2: feel protected. Nobody wants me to look bad here. We
- 37:43Speaker 2: all want to win, you feel me. So it's it's
- 37:46Speaker 2: really an honor to be on that show and for
- 37:48Speaker 2: me coming off grown Ish and I'm always kind of
- 37:50Speaker 2: like particularly about the roles I picked right, you know,
- 37:52Speaker 2: so I was thankful that I get to play a
- 37:55Speaker 2: doctor on TV. And that is that is what a
- 37:57Speaker 2: lot of you know, young black men will see and
- 37:59Speaker 2: be like, I can do that. Also that's an option
- 38:02Speaker 2: as well. I don't have to be a rapper or
- 38:04Speaker 2: I don't have to nothing wrong with any of these
- 38:06Speaker 2: things I'm saying, you know what I'm saying, But there's
- 38:08Speaker 2: a lot of things that they put with this is
- 38:10Speaker 2: this is what you can do, and this is it
- 38:12Speaker 2: right here. So I like to always kind of widen
- 38:14Speaker 2: that space for young black men to see. So that's
- 38:16Speaker 2: thankful for it for sure as part.
- 38:18Speaker 1: And we were just talking about this, like, I mean,
- 38:19Speaker 1: obviously these shows is like the stories that our parents
- 38:21Speaker 1: grow up on and they're going to be owned long
- 38:23Speaker 1: after we go, so it's to be a part of that.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Lige is crazy.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But do you ever think we'll get to a point
- 38:27Speaker 1: to where we have black sitcoms like regularly again, like
- 38:31Speaker 1: we got Martin Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, can be
- 38:34Speaker 1: Fox sitcoms in general though kind of like dead.
- 38:38Speaker 2: They're kind of dead because people are too sensitive. That's why,
- 38:42Speaker 2: you know, I feel like sitcoms are just kind of
- 38:44Speaker 2: like families and what families would say in their crib,
- 38:47Speaker 2: which families wouldn't say out and you know public but
- 38:50Speaker 2: you it felt like you were in a you know,
- 38:52Speaker 2: being able to watch them through a hole in the wall.
- 38:54Speaker 2: And that's why people loved it, you know what I'm saying.
- 38:56Speaker 2: But now I think people are just too I don't know,
- 38:59Speaker 2: but that true. I mean I'm trying to think, what's
- 39:01Speaker 2: the last sitcom really that was Like, I mean, I
- 39:03Speaker 2: don't I wouldn't count Grownish as a sitcom. That's more
- 39:06Speaker 2: like a would you count like Blackish and Grunes sitcom?
- 39:08Speaker 2: I mean for this generation. I mean it was Qualify.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I don't think it is. It's not really sickcomy though,
- 39:13Speaker 2: you know what I mean, like a Martin or like
- 39:15Speaker 2: a Fresh Pants.
- 39:16Speaker 1: It's not like a yeah, I mean even something like
- 39:19Speaker 1: we were talking about it like Mike has had one,
- 39:21Speaker 1: Marlin had one, Like oh yeah, yeah that I remember that.
- 39:24Speaker 2: But we just don't get the same.
- 39:26Speaker 1: We're just not syndicated as well, Like being on them
- 39:28Speaker 1: shows was that ship, but it just molded a lot
- 39:31Speaker 1: of us don't know, but you be in the indust
- 39:33Speaker 1: I wonder that a thing.
- 39:34Speaker 2: But yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, yeah, no, I definitely
- 39:36Speaker 2: think it's a dying art. I also miss some sketch
- 39:40Speaker 2: shows like other than that, s and l remember when
- 39:42Speaker 2: we're young, like all that and all those different life
- 39:44Speaker 2: and people were seeing kids being super creative. I feel
- 39:47Speaker 2: like now it's either like super kitty stuff or grown stuff.
- 39:49Speaker 2: There's not like a in between, living color type thing.
- 39:53Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. That's damn the streaming now
- 39:55Speaker 3: though you.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Think so, yeah, I mean you do do a lot
- 39:58Speaker 2: of sketches.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Likes and Drew and that kind of it's not the same,
- 40:04Speaker 3: but they give you that same, that same feel that player.
- 40:07Speaker 2: The mad TV is of the world looking like a man.
- 40:14Speaker 2: All that all that is the top tier show. All
- 40:16Speaker 2: that was great. Yeah, all that was fire.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Bro.
- 40:20Speaker 2: You guys have a favorite favorite childhood show, favorite childhood ship?
- 40:23Speaker 3: Bro?
- 40:24Speaker 2: I mean, what's the one that comes the top of
- 40:25Speaker 2: my had? Courgy Carly Dog was one. Cat Dog was.
- 40:28Speaker 3: One I used to watch and he had a different
- 40:30Speaker 3: TV than me.
- 40:31Speaker 2: That was all.
- 40:32Speaker 3: You didn't watchy Carly Dog. That is the purple Dog.
- 40:35Speaker 2: You've seen him before, right, hate Courage. Yeah you did
- 40:40Speaker 2: say you didn't like TV.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Well, I didn't watch cartoons. I seen him on like
- 40:46Speaker 3: a graph.
- 40:46Speaker 2: You've seen him, Yeah, you seen him the graphic. I
- 40:49Speaker 2: never watched the show that network that was between the
- 40:53Speaker 2: shows you want to watch.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 40:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna go back Wrograss though great bag works his classes.
- 41:01Speaker 3: He was like, what's the one my boy Cartman? Uh oh,
- 41:06Speaker 3: the best?
- 41:06Speaker 2: That's why South Park and ricked Morty south Park? What's
- 41:10Speaker 2: the said Rick and Morty. I can't do that. I'm
- 41:14Speaker 2: picking Ricking Morty every day.
- 41:15Speaker 3: And I really grew up like watching Morena my brother
- 41:18Speaker 3: and me.
- 41:19Speaker 1: That was my ship, my brother and me with mister Cooper. Yeah,
- 41:23Speaker 1: see them type of shows. Bro, we don't even like
- 41:25Speaker 1: Malcolm and Eddie Shing like that. Like, man, we don't
- 41:28Speaker 1: get that. No more Man, remember dug on Everything, Remember
- 41:31Speaker 1: Richard Mardy, Rick Morty, Ricking more Morty Dark. No oh,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you gotta give it just one episode?
- 41:36Speaker 2: Just watch one caographic thirty minutes, thirty minutes, one episode,
- 41:39Speaker 2: not even twenty five. It's it's family Gouy type humor.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Got look way smarter. Like the concepts that they're talking
- 41:46Speaker 2: about in the show is like not far from what
- 41:49Speaker 2: could be happening today while we're here. Family guy, our Simpsons,
- 41:55Speaker 2: family guy. My dad would kill me for saying that
- 41:57Speaker 2: my dad loves the Simpsons, but I'll go family figure.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I like Family. I'm able to get into it quicker
- 42:02Speaker 2: than Simpsons. Like if I put a Simpson on Simpsons
- 42:04Speaker 2: episode on, I don't. I'm not really into it by
- 42:06Speaker 2: like the middle. But Family got like the first two jokes.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I'm like, ah, I'm in it, you know, if they
- 42:10Speaker 1: would go a while, But the Simsions have been a
- 42:12Speaker 1: very long family.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Guy got some jokes bro the top tier that you
- 42:15Speaker 2: can't repeat anywhere else.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Simpsons knew the aliens, they knew all the future stuff.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I got everything right. Yeah that's now earlier.
- 42:25Speaker 1: So you mentioned you skateboard it, but you hoop as well,
- 42:28Speaker 1: saying the the kid we got you into basketball?
- 42:30Speaker 2: Who was your game? What's your game? Like? Who? My brother?
- 42:33Speaker 2: My brother? I was trying to be like my brother.
- 42:34Speaker 2: My brother Ian Jackson is a hooper. He's he's right
- 42:37Speaker 2: over there. But he was the first person I ever
- 42:39Speaker 2: seen play. My dad made me play and then I
- 42:42Speaker 2: loved it. And that's how I tore my achilles. So
- 42:44Speaker 2: me and basketball we gotta love hate relationship right now.
- 42:46Speaker 2: But I'm gonna get back in there. But I haven't
- 42:48Speaker 2: played in two years.
- 42:50Speaker 3: I uh yeah, I played against any actors anybody in
- 42:53Speaker 3: the entertainment.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, played against Chris. I played against all them.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I had the game that I had with the Beach Experience.
- 42:59Speaker 2: I had the most points, but nobody talked about that.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I had twenty six. Chris had twenty five. Talk about it,
- 43:04Speaker 2: but this was back then. I was like eighteen nine.
- 43:07Speaker 3: I'm just saying, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 2: For real. And we played. We played at the Beachy Experience.
- 43:14Speaker 2: He found me on the last place and I'm.
- 43:15Speaker 6: Just kidding, kid, I'm still hurt.
- 43:17Speaker 2: You can tell too, mad it was. It was a
- 43:19Speaker 2: great game. They won by a few points, but I
- 43:22Speaker 2: didn't get it.
- 43:23Speaker 3: No, no love.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Trevor had the most points. Man even play the whole
- 43:26Speaker 2: the whole thing, twenty six. Oh, let's talk about it.
- 43:29Speaker 3: The only person I really here to talk about Hoop
- 43:31Speaker 3: is like Tank. Yeah, and Jay Valence.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I played with j I played with Jays sometimes. Jacob Hoop,
- 43:37Speaker 2: Jake and Hoop. He said, Jack, and who have you
- 43:43Speaker 2: been on R. B. Moundy podcast? Yeah, okay, so you
