- 0:00get laced up let's go it's time for banter with
- 0:04the boys yo yo yo welcome back to banter with
- 0:18the boys fast laughs the japan recap bahrain
- 0:22preview it is according to our notes here it
- 0:26is april 8th 7 .30 p .m. is the start. It's actually
- 0:308 .03 p .m. because Smelty's late today. But
- 0:35we're here. And it looks like everybody's here.
- 0:38So let's play. Let's play. Mike, welcome back.
- 0:42I've been here the whole time. You have. Oh,
- 0:45you were here last week when we were not here.
- 0:47Kevin didn't let me leave. Oh. Did he feed you?
- 0:50No. He gave me some water. I don't know how we
- 0:54get on this subject every week. Last week it
- 0:56was me living in Kevin's basement and we were
- 0:58wondering if he was feeding me and now Mike's
- 1:01apparently living here. We were worried that
- 1:02I wouldn't come back so he's just like, I won't
- 1:04let you leave. So you're going to be here next
- 1:08week is all we know. Joe, welcome back. Thank
- 1:13you for welcoming me back. You know, I listened
- 1:15back to our... episode from two weeks ago now
- 1:18which feels too long actually while we're in
- 1:20season but i listened to that episode today and
- 1:22in the ending i forgot that i was totally like
- 1:25uh and joe thanks for being here awesome and
- 1:29then i like moved on or something i feel i felt
- 1:32really bad about it so sorry about that that
- 1:35was that was gold i can't i said something along
- 1:38those lines but it was joe you were here Anywhere.
- 1:42Yeah, yeah. Just rubbish. But anyway, yeah. So
- 1:47with that, I don't think we got anything that's
- 1:49crazy that should be mentioned now. I don't know.
- 1:52I'm going to try to come up with something fun
- 1:53to put right here instead of what I'm doing right
- 1:56now. Right before we go into the recap. But I
- 1:58don't know what it's going to be. Heck yeah.
- 2:00But anyway, yeah, Kev, let's just go right into
- 2:03the Japanese GP recap. So just like any good
- 2:19host of any podcast out there, I didn't really
- 2:23catch too much of the pre -race stuff. So did
- 2:28you guys catch that? Yeah. I watch highlights
- 2:33for every practice. The biggest. Biggest notes,
- 2:37Jack Duane misses FP1 while they give their reserve
- 2:40driver a chance to drive. And then FP2, he crashes
- 2:44the car at the start of it. Okay, yeah, I knew
- 2:45that. He only gets a single practice session.
- 2:50The noose tightens around his neck. Flavio is
- 2:53coming. Just wait to the GP. Flavio giveth, Flavio
- 2:57taketh. Lots of fires, per usual. Winter in Japan,
- 3:01very, very dry. If it weren't for the rain pre
- 3:04-race, probably would have seen it a couple of
- 3:06times again. But lots of fires, many, many red
- 3:09flags. I think I have a note somewhere. I want
- 3:15to say we had like, at one point, like five red
- 3:18flags in one of the sessions. It was just like
- 3:20one after the other. It just kept on happening.
- 3:24And then into quali, Max complaining the car
- 3:29didn't have grip, obviously not really an issue.
- 3:32Hadjar having bad seatbelt issues, complaining
- 3:37a lot about them. Another red flag in Q2. You
- 3:42know, a seatbelt issue would be very annoying.
- 3:45Yes. That is the last thing you want to be worrying
- 3:50about while driving a literal rocket ship. uh
- 3:54risking your life you know what i mean and that
- 3:56little minor inconvenience could actually be
- 3:58like you said he's in pain yeah you know so yeah
- 4:01yeah i don't know if we got any big specifics
- 4:04but it was happening throughout practice and
- 4:06they got into qualifying thinking they fixed
- 4:08it was not fixed i don't think they fixed it
- 4:11at the end of quality but they did find a way
- 4:13to negate it remedy it yeah make it easier for
- 4:16him sure um the biggest i mean the biggest thing
- 4:20we were watching especially in qualifying was
- 4:23Sonoda now in the Red Bull, Liam now in the V
- 4:26-Carb. Sonoda qualifying one position below Liam
- 4:30at the end of the day. His first race in a Red
- 4:34Bull, can't really say I expected him to be P2,
- 4:37right? I expected him to probably be out of the
- 4:3910, which he was. Did I expect him to be lower
- 4:42than Liam? I guess I would have given it fair
- 4:45either way. One more week. But it needs to be
- 4:49a drastic difference, I think. He has proved
- 4:51himself already. That they made the move to put
- 4:55him in the car. Exactly. And that's just it.
- 4:58He's already proved that he's better in the car.
- 5:00He qualified higher than Liam did by a landslide.
- 5:06So yeah, that's really all we got for pre -race.
- 5:11Fourth consecutive Japan poll for Max. Top three,
- 5:14by the way, separated by less than a tenth of
- 5:16a second. I did also want to point out, I just
- 5:19jotted this down, that Liam made it into Q2 by
- 5:23.016. And I think that was Hulkenberg. Like,
- 5:28he was just... just a hair ahead. And so I just
- 5:33noticed that and I'm like, that was brought up
- 5:35and I was like, oh, let's bring that up. That's
- 5:36a fun little fact. He actually made it into Q2
- 5:39his first time, first time all season. Yep. Narrowly.
- 5:43I think, I think you'll find more success in
- 5:45that car than in the Red Bull. I agree. I agree
- 5:47a hundred percent. And I like, we'll get into
- 5:50the GP, but I don't think we need to worry about
- 5:52too, too much yet about his performance, even
- 5:55in the GP. But Kev has a question. I think. Yes.
- 5:59Oh, yeah. Kev. So when Yuki goes to the Red Bull
- 6:02seat. When Yuki goes to the Red Bull seat. They
- 6:03just leave the car as it is and say, good luck.
- 6:05Do they tailor it to him a bit? Do they copy
- 6:08-paste his settings from the V -car to the new
- 6:10Red Bull? How do they tailor his car to him?
- 6:12So Kev's wondering if they change the car up,
- 6:16you know, to suit Yuki a little bit better, or
- 6:18do they just slap him into the exact same car
- 6:20that Liam was in and just say, you know, go for
- 6:23it. I would imagine. They would have to change
- 6:26something. Like, for sure, the seat changes,
- 6:27right? The seat has to change. But outside of
- 6:30that, like, tech stuff, I'm not sure. I would
- 6:33imagine. I don't know. I don't know. I'd be curious.
- 6:38You look like you have something more important.
- 6:40I'll just say my piece first. I think it's probably
- 6:42more of the latter. I think he just kind of jumps
- 6:44into the car that's already made, especially
- 6:46since they had a week, two weeks to really do
- 6:50anything to it. So I don't think I definitely
- 6:53think, you know, minor like setting changes that
- 6:56would fit him well. Obviously, they got him in
- 6:58practice and then they did like, you know, slight
- 7:00wing adjustments, the things that were within
- 7:02that aren't huge, like part upgrades. And then.
- 7:05down the line they will i mean the car is broken
- 7:08currently it's a bad car um max had to he has
- 7:13to drive really hard to get it to do what he
- 7:15wants it to do he has to drive like a wdc champion
- 7:17he does and he does um so i think but naturally
- 7:21the car will you know kind of form to both of
- 7:24the drivers a little bit better especially now
- 7:26that they've seen that drivers can't drive the
- 7:28car right unless they're max verstappen so are
- 7:31we in agreeance that we would give yuki a little
- 7:35bit more grace in the red bull car than we would
- 7:38liam or not so much like like it like like if
- 7:42yuki doesn't get into points next week then arguably
- 7:48it's not a ton different than what liam's shown
- 7:50i you know what i mean i like and i'm and i'm
- 7:53on the hater of liam train not as much as duane
- 7:56and i'll get into that later but like i just
- 7:58i don't know i think the racing bull is a good
- 8:00spot for liam and we'll see but Does Yuki only
- 8:04get two races? I would give Yuki more time. I
- 8:09think part of the reason why I'm not upset that
- 8:11they moved Liam as fast as they did is because
- 8:13Liam never should have had that seat to begin
- 8:14with. It should have gone to Yuki to begin with.
- 8:17If they didn't before, they do now for sure.
- 8:19And so that was part of the reason I was so against
- 8:22Liam being in that seat is because he didn't
- 8:25deserve that. seat he didn't earn that seat and
- 8:27yuki did and so now yuki's in that seat and he
- 8:30needs time to acclimate to it the car is very
- 8:32different from the v -carb so he does need some
- 8:34some races to uh adjust to the changes in the
- 8:38way that this car is just more on edge than the
- 8:40v -carb is and we've seen the fact that he can
- 8:43make those changes at least better than liam
- 8:46could have in a shorter time frame and i think
- 8:48that giving him some more time more than two
- 8:51races is probably fine Um, I definitely agree
- 8:54that he should have been the one they picked
- 8:56first for that reason. He should not be given
- 9:00more time. He should be expected to perform already
- 9:04better than Liam. And he has been one race in,
- 9:06but we, he, we shouldn't like two races is, is
- 9:09the max I'm giving him. Um, and he's already,
- 9:11he's already proved himself that he's better
- 9:13in the car. I'm not saying to be specific. I'm
- 9:17not expecting to be at the level of Max Verstappen
- 9:19because I think the car's flawed. Yep. Um, uh,
- 9:23But he has more experience in F1. He should be
- 9:26able to drive the car better just in general.
- 9:28For that reason, I am not going to give him,
- 9:31like, five races to, like, get into points. He
- 9:33needs to get into points in the next two races,
- 9:35in my opinion. Low points. It doesn't even need
- 9:38to be high points. Honestly, in Bahrain, he needs
- 9:41to get in points, and I think he will. I think
- 9:43I just want to see, like, we've seen what Checo
- 9:47was doing with the car last year. Checo was struggling
- 9:49to get into points, and that was Checo who had
- 9:51years in that car. and experience in that car.
- 9:53And the year prior had a pretty good year. Right.
- 9:56And so if he struggled that much, how can we,
- 9:59and Checo was struggling to get one or two points,
- 10:01four points a race, then how can I expect Yuki
- 10:05to do that in a brand new car in two races? How
- 10:08can we expect Liam then? Him expecting, because
- 10:10Liam should have never been in that seat. Liam,
- 10:12I agree, technically you should be giving Liam
- 10:14more time, but Liam should never have been in
- 10:17that seat. He's still too new to Formula One.
- 10:19He's only driven 11 races to Yuki is about to
- 10:22hit his. 100th race this season. Yuki has that
- 10:25time. They did Liam a disservice. It hurts his
- 10:30image if we really care about that right now
- 10:33in his career. At some point, it does become
- 10:36a factor a little bit. We've seen with your boy,
- 10:40Pierre, at this point, I don't think he ever
- 10:42gets another chance to get put back in that Red
- 10:44Bull seat. He had his chance. They gave him two
- 10:46races. They're like, look, buddy. yeah you messed
- 10:49up you didn't max for stappin it and so i think
- 10:52because of that like his career is damaged permanently
- 10:56for that and if i'm liam that's a good point
- 10:58probably i'm looking at sometime in the next
- 11:01few years maybe looking at moving outside of
- 11:02red bull because there's clearly not going to
- 11:04be any more future in v carb probably not yeah
- 11:07i I definitely see where, what you're saying.
- 11:11I think if he were to be picked right off the,
- 11:13right off the bat, start of the season, he probably
- 11:16would have. Well, no, I think he probably could
- 11:18have very well been kicked out. If he gave the
- 11:20same performance as Liam, like he could have
- 11:22just been kicked out and Liam could have swapped
- 11:23in. Sure. I think it's good. I just don't see
- 11:26that happening. It's, it's good that Liam had
- 11:29the car for two races because now he's a benchmark
- 11:31and he's already, he's already surpassing it.
- 11:33So I don't think he's in trouble. I don't think
- 11:36he's in much. of losing the seat. Not this season.
- 11:42I don't think this season he would lose the seat
- 11:44at all. No, God, no. His 100th race is coming
- 11:48up this season. He needs to drive like it. Yep.
- 11:51So that's why I'm giving him like, you got the
- 11:54seat that you deserve, now you have to drive
- 11:56like it. It's, again, obvious that the Red Bull's
- 11:58broken at the moment, but... low points is what
- 12:03they're expecting yeah and i i agree i want to
- 12:05see him in low low points i think that's an expectation
- 12:07too i think i'm just giving him a little bit
- 12:09more than two races and as long as he's finishing
- 12:11close to the points if he's finishing way in
- 12:14the back p18 like liam was that's damning that's
- 12:16bad like don't we can't we can't have that but
- 12:19like it like Finishing 12th is pretty close to
- 12:22the points. Finishing 11th is pretty close to
- 12:25the points. If he's doing that for the first
- 12:29couple races, I'm okay with that because he's
- 12:35acclimating to a new car. I don't know. I feel
- 12:39like I need to see him P8 to P10 at least. You
- 12:42at least need to be getting something every race
- 12:45in the Red Bull number two car. Yes, with flaws.
- 12:48But Ferrari's not perfect either right now, you
- 12:52know. Isaac drove a heck of a race putting a
- 12:55V -carb up there. But, like, I feel like you
- 12:57can't. Yeah, first race, again, in the Red Bull.
- 13:01But I think definitely in Bahrain, Isaac can't
- 13:04be beating you. I agree. You can't be getting
- 13:08beat by your sister team. At all. I don't think
- 13:13it can even be a question. And, again, Hadnar
- 13:15had a great race. I'm not taking anything away
- 13:17from him. What do they do? At that point, it's
- 13:19like, okay, well, Yuki isn't working in this
- 13:21car, so what are we going to do? Are we going
- 13:22to put Isaac in the car next? No. No, that's
- 13:24why I think... You can only put so much on the
- 13:27driver, because at a certain point... That's
- 13:29why I think his seat's safe for the season. You
- 13:31don't need a fast... You don't need a WDC in
- 13:34the... I mean, it helps, obviously. You need
- 13:36a driver with a lot of experience that knows
- 13:38how to mold themselves to a car. It's unfortunate
- 13:41Yuki's been in one car for his entire tenure,
- 13:45but... That much experience, being able to learn
- 13:50the car and having driven for so long, that's
- 13:52what they need in that second spot right now
- 13:53to get them even close to constructors, which
- 13:56is obviously what they want. Well, and that's
- 13:59my point. That's why he's just got to be in points.
- 14:04If they want to battle for constructors... He
- 14:06has to. Max cannot. Max isn't going to be able
- 14:08to win every race this year. We know that. You
- 14:11know what I mean? Man, I can't wait to talk about
- 14:13McLaren, too. Last quick note. I forgot to write
- 14:16this down in my notes on the Yuki thing. I don't
- 14:20know if you guys heard this, but Helmet Watch...
- 14:23Helmet came out and made another stupid comment.
- 14:26What did he say this time? This time, he talked
- 14:29about Yuki and his performance in Japan and talked
- 14:31about the fact that he did good and said that
- 14:33he tried to deflect blame for why Yuki didn't
- 14:36move up to Red Bull on Adrian Nui. And said that
- 14:39Adrian Newey was preventing Yuki from moving
- 14:42up to the residency for some incident that Yuki
- 14:45had back like two and a half years ago. I don't
- 14:47buy that garbage at all. And Adrian Newey's wife,
- 14:50I forget her name, she came out and was like,
- 14:52no, he was on gardening leave. He was out gardening
- 14:56at this time. There's no way that he prevented
- 14:58this from happening. Yeah, I don't buy that at
- 15:01all. And she never puts her face out in front
- 15:04of the media. But she's like, leave my husband
- 15:07alone. He has nothing to do with you guys right
- 15:09now. He's just opening his gums. He's just flapping
- 15:15his gums right now. Old man yells at clowns.
- 15:17Yeah. Literally, literally. Okay, let's get into
- 15:21this here. First off, before you even start,
- 15:23I thought there were some pretty cool liveries
- 15:26this weekend between Red Bull. Haas had a really
- 15:29great one, honestly. Would love to have a picture
- 15:32of that. Right. But Red Bull, I mean, we've already
- 15:37talked about Yuki, but Max. Max won the race?
- 15:40Max won the race. Who won the race? Who won the
- 15:44race? Oh, my gosh. He's wearing his Max Verstappen
- 15:49shirt. That's right, baby. It's back. Four -time
- 15:54WDC. Unbelievable. No! No! I can't believe it.
- 16:05Oh, my God. For our Spotify listeners, I'm so
- 16:08sorry. You got to go see this on YouTube. You
- 16:11just missed. Oh, my God, that was awesome. Oh,
- 16:15I can't believe he just did that. If you want
- 16:16to see Joe doing his best viral video mimic.
- 16:23I'm tweaking after that Max win, baby. You know
- 16:26what? I'm on the train now. I'm a fan now. Thug
- 16:28life. Thug life. Oh, my gosh. Oh, God. That was
- 16:34perfect. But in all seriousness. Wow, where are
- 16:36we? That was a pretty good drive from Max. Wow.
- 16:40That was a great drive from Max. A comment that
- 16:43I heard from the commentators during the race
- 16:45kind of put it perfectly. It's like qualifying
- 16:47was almost better than the race, right? Yeah.
- 16:49I mean, like, that's where, like, he really,
- 16:51like, that's where, like, all the hype came from.
- 16:53He just, like, again, top three within a tenth
- 16:58of a second. Crazy work from Max. No, for sure.
- 17:03At the end of the race, you could hear him, like,
- 17:05he sounded, like, actually excited, like, in
- 17:08the car. Yeah, it was awesome. Which is weird.
- 17:09Like, I feel like you don't hear excitement.
- 17:11We're not used to hearing excitement out of Max
- 17:12after a win because it's just, like, expected.
- 17:15Yeah. You know, but, like, hearing that excitement,
- 17:18like, oh, my God. Like, it just confirms, like,
- 17:20yeah, I drove the absolute piss out of that car,
- 17:23and I'm real happy I got the tub today. So that
- 17:26was just fun to see, other than him being able
- 17:30to. keep the mclarens behind him uh he shouldn't
- 17:34have been able to in my opinion uh oh god mclarens
- 17:40really pissed me off this weekend the team and
- 17:42i'm not even a fan of them but they pissed me
- 17:45off um do we want to say anything else about
- 17:47max real quick before we get into mclaren it's
- 17:50just he proves once and again obviously so sorry
- 17:54i was just gonna say for our points you know
- 17:58that we're that we're doing max winning in japan
- 18:01really puts a wrench in things because like i
- 18:05think so because we're all you know talking you
- 18:07know max is in some of our podiums you know last
- 18:10week you said this is the last week max might
- 18:12be in your podium i'm not gonna hold you to it
- 18:14obviously thank you but that's what i mean it
- 18:16puts a wrench in it i might though three weeks
- 18:18ago we weren't even like three weeks ago we were
- 18:21like you know maybe but now it Who knows? I mean,
- 18:24you can literally get points. They can climb
- 18:26up in the constructors. You could put them at,
- 18:28I mean, it's crazy to say this. You could put
- 18:29them in a Haas at this point and you can't count
- 18:31them out. I know. It's insane. I would like to
- 18:34formally apologize for putting Red Bull at, what
- 18:37did I say? Fourth? Fifth or fifth? I can check
- 18:40really quick. Oh, no. I got it right here. I
- 18:41put Max at fifth. I put Max at fifth. I apologize
- 18:44for putting Max at fifth. I did not account for
- 18:46the Max Verstappen factor. Lewis Hamilton is
- 18:49in fourth in Mike's WDC. One spot above. Max
- 18:54Verstappen. Yeah, I did not account for the Max
- 18:56factor. I was like, this car is going to be bad.
- 18:59And then Max Verstappen was like, so what? What
- 19:04if I just won anyways? Max Verstappen is like,
- 19:06gotcha. The car's always been bad. Yeah, right?
- 19:11Oh, my God. All right, let's just get into it.
- 19:15McLaren. Somebody else can go first. I mean,
- 19:18we have a lot. I mean, probably the most to talk
- 19:20about for McLaren. For sure. I guess like the
- 19:24one thing. Number one thing, two and three. Two
- 19:26and three, yeah. On the podium. Really good,
- 19:28really good finish. Obviously not where they
- 19:29want to be or where they need to be. Broke 100
- 19:31points. Uh -huh. Broke 100 points in constructors.
- 19:34They did. That's good. That's a big threshold.
- 19:36Yeah, it's going to be hard to overtake them
- 19:38in constructors if they keep having the races
- 19:41that they're having. So I guess just an easy
- 19:46one to start out with, the pit lane incident
- 19:48between... Max and Lando. Oh, yeah. Lando calling
- 19:52for him pushing him off. Max semi calling for
- 19:57him unsafe release. I don't think either of them
- 20:00are really that easy to argue for. So I'm happy
- 20:04with, you know, just a racing incident at the
- 20:06end of the day. Yeah. And that's not me. Like,
- 20:08I honestly don't think it was an unsafe release
- 20:11because he obviously had room to be in the pit
- 20:13lane with him. Like, if I think. If anything,
- 20:17it would have been more of like a contention
- 20:20by the end of the pit lane, but obviously the
- 20:22rules aren't too specific against it. This is
- 20:25one where I'm siding with Max on this one. There's
- 20:29not really a side. You know what I mean? I kind
- 20:31of agree. I'm glad it was just a racing incident
- 20:33just because, like, I don't know. I don't think
- 20:36it was anybody's fault. But if there was fault,
- 20:40Lando maybe tried to sneak in there. technically
- 20:44he has the right to do that so it's just i don't
- 20:46know i'm again i'm glad it wasn't i'm glad nothing
- 20:48happened to lando's car yeah like severely in
- 20:52that yeah uh because i could have ruined the
- 20:54whole whole weekend for mcclain he almost hit
- 20:56the barrier as he went out yeah he it was definitely
- 20:59a bad call from lando obviously the best move
- 21:02there is just a slot in right behind him hard
- 21:04to do that hard to just accept that in the moment
- 21:07it is but Definitely the best move. Had he done
- 21:11it too, there's a world that he could have caught
- 21:14Max and gone for an overtake on Max. But because
- 21:17he did that mistake, it put him two full seconds
- 21:20behind Max. And then he's just spending the rest
- 21:23of the race trying to chase him. And that's just
- 21:25too hard to do, especially on a track like Suzuka
- 21:27with dirty air. Okay, so that leads me to my
- 21:31next question for McLaren. In the last 20 laps.
- 21:36Would Oscar have had a better opportunity, better
- 21:38chance? Do you think he would have had... Do
- 21:41you think he could have caught Max and at least
- 21:43made it more interesting than Lando did? No,
- 21:46simply because he stayed behind Lando. He couldn't
- 21:50fully catch and overtake Lando. And even if he
- 21:54could, he would be stuck behind Max, still getting
- 21:56dirty air. So, yeah, I don't think so. I think
- 22:01part of it, too, was that I think they could
- 22:04have let... oscar passed and oscar would have
- 22:07had a better chance than lando would have not
- 22:09by a lot i don't think he would have caught him
- 22:10but he would have had a better chance i think
- 22:13the other thing is that they had um the radios
- 22:16were like we're saying like oscar had put the
- 22:19thing on it was like hey can can we try and see
- 22:21if i can take a crack uh take a crack at max
- 22:24and they're like okay we're gonna check with
- 22:26lando quick and they came back to like uh we
- 22:29uh we checked with lando and it looks like uh
- 22:31he's giving his full pace And that was kind of
- 22:35like a call to Oscar that's like, hey, look,
- 22:37he's pushing as hard as he can. So if we do let
- 22:41him pass, then there's not going to be a great
- 22:44chance that, you know, if you can't catch Max,
- 22:46that he's going to catch up to you and you guys
- 22:49can swap positions back. There's also the threat
- 22:51of George Russell behind you guys. And if we
- 22:54don't have somebody fast in that third position,
- 22:56there's a chance that George Russell could catch
- 22:59and potentially take the spot away from him.
- 23:02Because, obviously, McLaren cares more about
- 23:03their constructor standings. Oh, and it's, I
- 23:06mean, they do. They do. I think they really want
- 23:10to get Lando at WDC, though, too. Oh, of course.
- 23:12And, like, that's why I think they just also
- 23:14didn't decide. And, again, the dirty air. You
- 23:16know, I get it. But I think that's another reason
- 23:19why, low -key, they didn't decide to, like, let
- 23:22Pastry take a chance and try to pass at, again,
- 23:25a track that's harder to overtake. risk losing
- 23:29both cars, and now your weekend's really messed
- 23:30up. But I don't know. Again, that's what I'm
- 23:35keying on for the whole season is how they treat
- 23:38both drivers, you know, because I think it's
- 23:40going to change, and I think it's going to lean
- 23:42Lando, and I don't think Piastri's going to be
- 23:44happy about it. Now, post -race, Piastri seemed
- 23:47fine, you know, happy the team got two and three,
- 23:49you know. It was funny, though, and I think this
- 23:54is just emotion, you know, probably, and, you
- 23:57know, during the race, Again, the final laps,
- 23:59thinking that, you know, he can do a better job
- 24:02than what Lando's doing. But Lando, like, locks
- 24:05up the brakes, to which, you know, Oscar just
- 24:09says cheeky on the comms. I thought that was
- 24:12hilarious. Just for the moment in time and, like,
- 24:15probably a little bit of frustration, just like,
- 24:18yeah, see, you know, but I don't know. That's
- 24:20funny. I don't know. I think it's just going
- 24:23to be a problem. But, again, like you guys are
- 24:26saying, no reason. they should lose the constructors
- 24:29right now with the way they're performing. As
- 24:31long as they don't get to that point of wrecking
- 24:33each other. It was Charles in fourth. Sorry,
- 24:36I said George earlier. It was Charles. I'm correcting
- 24:38myself. You're definitely right. It's definitely
- 24:40not the last race that they're going to run into
- 24:43this issue. They have two really good drivers
- 24:45and it's going to be a problem the entire season
- 24:47where they have to pick one or the other or they
- 24:50have to strategize differently. Which brings
- 24:53me, I think, to the biggest McLaren problem this
- 24:55weekend is that their strategy, especially in
- 24:57the pits, was not good. Commentators are saying
- 25:01this. I didn't quite agree in the moment, but
- 25:02looking back, I do see. where they at least even
- 25:07if it wasn't the right call it was a call to
- 25:09do something slightly different to see if it
- 25:11worked they pit lando the exact same time max
- 25:14did when they could have held him onto the track
- 25:16because no one was really doing undercuts very
- 25:19well no they could have held him on the track
- 25:22let him just have clean air for a little bit
- 25:24um you know drive that mclaren's mclaren with
- 25:28really good deg kind of management and then maybe
- 25:31come out closer to max because he's now in traffic
- 25:34um and you aren't or potentially even ahead of
- 25:37max it's potentially hearing in clean air we
- 25:40see how dominant those mclarens are in clean
- 25:42air yeah like they just tell them they're like
- 25:44hey max is pushing or max is pitting push 100
- 25:48the slap and then pit at the end of the slap
- 25:50like do that you can have a chance of overcutting
- 25:54again may not have been the right strategy decision
- 25:57but i agree with the commentators in saying that
- 25:59it would have been a better choice than doing
- 26:02nothing agreed so more to look out for that um
- 26:06unfortunately again two three still a really
- 26:09good placing yep for mclaren but great could
- 26:12have been more Can they repeat, you think, this
- 26:16weekend in Bahrain? I think one of them could
- 26:21probably get the win, actually, in my opinion.
- 26:23Their cars have not been good at Bahrain because
- 26:27they're usually not good at the start of the
- 26:29season. So we haven't really seen a decent McLaren
- 26:33car at Bahrain yet. They were doing really well
- 26:36in testing. They looked really dominant during
- 26:39the testing. I think they'll be able to compete,
- 26:44no problem. And I think they will sweep, if we
- 26:48do dare say that, sweep the podium, being both
- 26:51cars on the podium. And I think one of them could
- 26:55win it this weekend. Let's see. We talked about
- 26:59McLaren, Ferrari, finishing four in P4, P7, whatever.
- 27:04I mean, the rest of the race is really kind of,
- 27:07to me, a little bit of whatever. I mean, P4,
- 27:11P7 for Ferrari isn't horrible. Not bad. You got
- 27:14split by Mercedes, who's having an interesting
- 27:17year. They're a little bit of a dark horse for
- 27:20me to climb up the constructors because Anthony
- 27:23had a great weekend. But, again, Ferrari, sorry,
- 27:25getting off track here. I think it's a matter
- 27:28of time before Charles is challenging for these
- 27:31podiums a little bit harder. It's just a matter
- 27:34of who he's challenging, and I don't think it's
- 27:36going to be McLaren. I think it'll be like Charles
- 27:38and Max fighting for third. I mean, you got to
- 27:42throw George in there, too. He's consistently
- 27:44already fighting George. Yeah, for sure. And
- 27:47I mean, I don't know. I don't have anything to
- 27:49say about Hamilton. He said it was a lonely P7
- 27:52is what he came out and said. Just uneventful.
- 27:56Lonely. He got past Isaac Hadjar. You know, that's
- 27:59good. It's weird seeing Isaac Hadjar fighting
- 28:02Lewis Hamilton. Right? Like, that's insanity.
- 28:07Isaac had a great, what pass? I think it was
- 28:10the pass on Carlos at one point earlier in the
- 28:14race. Great pass on the outside. I think that
- 28:17was on turn one even. Yeah. Like, just, I mean.
- 28:20Which is a crazy place to overtake. The balls.
- 28:22Yeah. The commentator. Oh, I'll save it for comms,
- 28:25actually. The commentator said something wild
- 28:27that I like that I'm going to use instead of
- 28:28saying the balls. You know what I mean? It was
- 28:31just funny. Anyway. Yeah. That was funny. Let's
- 28:33see. I don't know. You guys got anything on Ferrari?
- 28:37No. No. A little. Obviously, no. Do you think
- 28:40this race, like drivers are even comparing it.
- 28:44I don't have names. Allegedly. We'll go allegedly
- 28:47here. that drivers are comparing it to Monaco,
- 28:50just as far as eventful. Okay, I've been hearing
- 28:53about that, too. And I don't know how I feel
- 28:55about that, to be honest. The problem is that
- 28:57Monaco and this, I guess, they're the same problem,
- 29:01but different reasons for the problem. Monaco
- 29:05is really, really thin, so it's really hard to
- 29:08overtake anywhere. Suzuka just doesn't have very
- 29:11good overtaking spots, just in general. And I
- 29:16don't think a lot of tracks have very good overtaking
- 29:18spots nowadays. I think Bahrain will be good
- 29:21because we have a very long straight. Vegas,
- 29:24you know, is meant for overtaking. And that's
- 29:27where Oscar thought that if he had a little bit
- 29:29longer straight, he would have made the move
- 29:31on Lando outside of team orders. So it's, I think
- 29:35we're going to see, we're unfortunately going
- 29:36to see. races that are boring, and unfortunately
- 29:40it might be more than we'd like to see. Because
- 29:43the top three are so aggressive, I'm hoping we
- 29:45won't see one person idling in first the entire
- 29:50time, but it's possible. I think what we've seen,
- 29:55you're right that it's not the same as Monaco
- 29:57in the fact that Monaco is small. I think the
- 30:00issue isn't the fact that Suzuka doesn't have
- 30:02good overtaking. Because it actually does have
- 30:04good places to overtake. I think the biggest
- 30:06issue is in like how windy some of these corners
- 30:10are and how fragile some of these cars are in
- 30:14dirty air. It becomes really hard when you're
- 30:16in the turbulent air to keep your car on the
- 30:19line and really pushing. And that's very different
- 30:22from where the cars were. And because of that,
- 30:25it makes it hard where like you watch like sector
- 30:28one, we would watch Lando always like get right
- 30:30up onto the back of Max and then he'd start losing
- 30:32him in sector one because he's trying to fight
- 30:35through that dirty air and through those S's.
- 30:36And so Max would just crawl away. And then when
- 30:38we get to the big straights, like 139R and the
- 30:41pit straight, then we'd see them like come back
- 30:44together because those are the straight lines
- 30:46where he's able to find that speed. But I think
- 30:49the biggest issue is actually in the turbulent
- 30:51air. And because of that, there are people who
- 30:53are... instead calling that what we should do
- 30:55is we should add a second DRS zone right after
- 30:59Spoon that leads into 139R. Yeah, I agree with
- 31:04that. I don't hate that. It would be a short
- 31:05DRS. Yeah, they need to like... I wonder what
- 31:08the process is to do that. Is that just like...
- 31:10So... Yeah, because, I mean, we saw what happened
- 31:13when you don't disable DRS on a turn with Doohan
- 31:15during practice. You go into the wallet, as you
- 31:20said to me, at Mock Jesus. At Mock Jesus. That's
- 31:23funny. You said Mock Jesus? I said Mock Jesus.
- 31:25God, I just said that the other day about something.
- 31:27And that is, like, basically it's, like, the
- 31:30exact same scenario there. You're going incredibly
- 31:32fast, and if I'm not mistaken, you may let off,
- 31:37but you definitely don't break. Yep. And that's
- 31:39what activates the DRS without pressing the buttons.
- 31:41So they probably need a better way of regulating
- 31:42it. Yeah. Um, because I don't think the DRS,
- 31:45I don't, I could be wrong here. I'm going to
- 31:49fact check myself. I don't think there's like
- 31:51a DRS end zone. It's just when you break. Correct.
- 31:54And then it's done. Well, I mean, there is, you
- 31:57have, like you have, you have the, you have the
- 31:59line where your DRS can start. Yeah. But you
- 32:03don't have. I don't think you have an end line.
- 32:06I could be 100 % incorrect about that, but that's
- 32:12how I see it. I don't think they have a spot
- 32:14where you need to close your DRS by this zone.
- 32:18It's just there's a zone on the track where you
- 32:21can open your DRS at any point during this, but
- 32:24at a certain point, it's not worth opening your
- 32:26DRS because if you do, then like... you're coming
- 32:31up on a corner and you're just gonna go into
- 32:32the yeah but what but what but what we're saying
- 32:34is it should shut though like it shuts when you
- 32:37break right it does yeah yeah or when you press
- 32:40the button on your steering wheel So you do have
- 32:42a button that you can just shut it when you want
- 32:43to, too. Yeah, of course. That was kind of the.
- 32:45I just wonder if you do have to press the button
- 32:47then and then break or simultaneously do it.
- 32:50Or if you break it, it automatically is like,
- 32:52oh, you probably want to slow down. That's that's
- 32:54the issue with doing and why he crashes, because
- 32:56like a lot of drivers in turn one in Suzuka,
- 32:58they will take their DRS down the pit straight.
- 33:01Right. And then they'll manually close it and
- 33:03and just let off. the gas as they come into that
- 33:07corner because you're able to take that corner
- 33:09very fast sure for sure and then as you come
- 33:11around the back end of that corner that's where
- 33:13you start laying onto the brakes and as you're
- 33:16exiting the corner is where you get back on the
- 33:18power to take you through the rest of the corner
- 33:19right and so because of that a lot of drivers
- 33:21will manually close their drs as they go into
- 33:24that straight but jack doing was like watch my
- 33:27pro gamer move and tried to keep his drs open
- 33:29yeah and not go well yeah um I'm reading a couple.
- 33:33I don't know if this is, again, true. There might
- 33:36also be options for the DRS to deactivate if
- 33:41you lift. And if that's the case, that kind of
- 33:42fixes that issue a little bit. I think it's a
- 33:45little dangerous. Okay, you said DRS would deactivate
- 33:48when you lift? Lift off throttle. Okay, okay.
- 33:50So you're going full throttle, and once you lift,
- 33:52DRS will. God, I would rather it do it when you
- 33:54go to brake. I mean, it does. It does. It does.
- 33:57I'm saying it should be both, probably. Yeah,
- 33:59yeah, yeah. It should be in scenarios like this.
- 34:00Because that would have prevented the do -hand
- 34:02thing. Exactly. When you want to lift it when
- 34:04it closes. Because if you're lifting, you're
- 34:05obviously turning, and you need downforce when
- 34:07you're turning. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. Yep, all
- 34:09right. Good thing the FIA listens to our pod
- 34:14and they're going to take all this to heart and
- 34:16figure it out. Thank you, MBS. Real quick, let's
- 34:22fly through these here. Mercedes, again, having
- 34:23a solid weekend. Antonelli, I believe he got
- 34:28fastest lap, no? I think so. I think he even
- 34:31got fastest lap, so Antonelli really coming into
- 34:33his own here. Again, I think if Mercedes can
- 34:37stay consistent, they need... Like, George needs
- 34:41to start beating Oscar or something for them
- 34:43to start gaining any sort of ground on McLaren.
- 34:48I mean, the same goes for a Ferrari, and I just
- 34:51don't think that's going to happen. I mean, who
- 34:54do you think can get second at this point right
- 34:55now, today? Second at Constructors? Yeah. Who's
- 34:59most set up best to get second right now? And
- 35:02it might, like, low -key, it might be frickin'
- 35:04Mercedes. If Hamilton cannot get past Antonelli.
- 35:09Or get up to George. I could give you kind of
- 35:12a crazy take. Do you need the hat? Or is it not
- 35:16that crazy? I don't know. Do we need a mid -tier
- 35:19hat? Let's say Max continuously hits podiums,
- 35:24and Mercedes and Ferrari are continuously fighting
- 35:26for that fourth, fifth position. Yes. Red Bull
- 35:29could still maybe get second. It'll be really
- 35:33difficult. That'd be really hard. Really difficult.
- 35:35What if Max is at least getting second and third?
- 35:38Or do you think he has to win consistently? Winning
- 35:41would help. Well, yeah. Winning helps a lot of
- 35:44things. Yeah, consistently second or third, probably
- 35:46not. So, yeah, maybe not. I think, man. But Ferrari
- 35:51and Mercedes are swapping for every other race.
- 35:54George has been super consistent, and Antonelli
- 35:56has surprised me. I feel like it's got to be
- 35:58Mercedes, right? He's surprising me a little
- 35:59bit. I'm on the Mercedes train, too. I think
- 36:01Mercedes looks really good. I think Ferrari will
- 36:03have a comeback eventually. They will. They will.
- 36:06I think. I mean, P4 and 7 is not horrible, right?
- 36:10You're still fighting with the rest of them,
- 36:12with McLaren. P4, obviously, P4 is where you
- 36:14want to be. With Mercedes, you know. P4 is where
- 36:16you want to be right now. So it's not the end
- 36:19of the world. Okay, Mercedes, racing bulls, Isaac
- 36:23Hajar. Yeah, outstanding. Crazy race for him.
- 36:26Maybe we do need to put him in a red bull. No,
- 36:29stop, stop, no. Let's put Max in the V -Carb.
- 36:33And he'll still get a win. No, Isaac having a
- 36:38great race. I mean, he's proven that the V -Carb
- 36:41is not a bad car, right? And he's got a lot of
- 36:45pace in him, too. Which Yuki did, too. Yeah.
- 36:48So... Yeah. Did they put... So the V -Carb, you
- 36:54know, we know within the teams, the two cars
- 36:56are usually slightly different. One's usually
- 36:58slightly behind in upgrades than the other. Yeah,
- 37:01just depending on upgrade schedule. Yeah. So...
- 37:04When they took Yuki out of the racing bowls,
- 37:07did they put then Isaac into Yuki's car and then
- 37:10put Liam into the car? I know. No chance. No.
- 37:14Just too much messing around to try to get it
- 37:16right. It's possible. It's not all the time that
- 37:20they have to stagger upgrades. Sometimes they
- 37:22just do because of build schedules and stuff
- 37:24like that or money. I was going to say more money.
- 37:27It's possible that they didn't have to do that
- 37:29for the V -Carbs yet. So, no, I don't think they
- 37:32would have swapped cars. Fair enough. I was just
- 37:34curious because, I mean, Yuki was finishing top
- 37:3710 in VCarbs and competing, you know, no problem.
- 37:41So now we're seeing Isaac do it, so that's fun.
- 37:45Lawson, right, I think, where I would expect
- 37:47him to be. I think between P15 and worse is where
- 37:52I'm kind of expecting Liam to be the rest of
- 37:54the season, honestly. It would be nice to see
- 37:57him compete. It would hurt my soul to say that
- 38:00he should be beating Jack Duann and Pierre Gasly
- 38:04right now, but Alpine doesn't look that great.
- 38:06Williams is... Should he be beating his teammate,
- 38:08though? Isaac Hadjian. Absolutely. I mean, I
- 38:11would think so. You have a little bit more F1
- 38:13experience in Isaac, obviously. You've had more
- 38:15time in the car and around the F1 car. Especially
- 38:20if he was promoted to a Red Bull, you would expect
- 38:23him to be above Isaac. Especially for someone
- 38:26who Helmut said was... on par with yuki but this
- 38:29is right right well obviously we found out that
- 38:32helmet talks out of his gums um yeah oh my god
- 38:38um yeah no that's a good that's a good point
- 38:43but i think if we're gonna give yuki a race we
- 38:45gotta give lawson a race too you know uh it does
- 38:48hurt me a little bit um but it's just i don't
- 38:51know we gotta give him at least a race maybe
- 38:53to get used to the v car begin yeah although
- 38:55you've already been there but And then and then
- 38:58see, you know, and then if he's still getting
- 39:00beat, especially this this bad by Isaac, that's
- 39:05that's a huge red flag. And then whatever his
- 39:07name is, Schmuck, something Schmuckle, Schmeckle.
- 39:12What? Arvin Lindblad? Arvin Lindblad. I always
- 39:16forget his name. That's not who you were trying
- 39:18to say. He wasn't even close. No. No, you said
- 39:21Schmeckle. Yeah, Schmeckle or Schmeckle. Yeah,
- 39:24that guy. Arvin Lindblad. Lindblad. That's not
- 39:28even close to Schmuckle. I keep saying Lindblad.
- 39:31I think he was saying Schmeckle. Arvin Lindblad.
- 39:33Wait, are you Jewish? Schmeckle. Schmeckle. A
- 39:36couple of Schmeckles. Schumacher. Nick! Oh, my
- 39:44God. That's truly where I was going with it,
- 39:46obviously. Schumacher. That makes sense. Clearly.
- 39:49What were we talking about? I don't know. Let's
- 39:52just go into Williams. Albon getting P9. Solid.
- 39:56He's in the points. Can't complain about that.
- 39:58Carlos still seems like he's getting used to
- 40:01the car. William seems to have hit or miss strategies
- 40:06that Albon's not necessarily happy about. I have
- 40:10a comm from him that we'll get to. Let's see.
- 40:14Haas. I'm just going to turn to you all season
- 40:17for Haas. Yeah, Holly Berman's great. I like
- 40:19this kid. He outperformed Esteban. Shocker. Sorry.
- 40:25And yeah, he drove good. He held his position.
- 40:28He qualified 10th. He held 10th. Kept a lot of
- 40:32good cars behind him. You know, I will say we're
- 40:36seeing a lot of the Red Bull effect happening
- 40:38where we have one driver getting points and the
- 40:41other driver all the way down on the grid. which
- 40:44is not helping their team, you know? To be fair,
- 40:47Alpine has more points. You're right, Alpine
- 40:49is consistently bad. They're pretty close to
- 40:50each other. Consistently not good. You know what's
- 40:52the wicked part about that is that Aston's Max
- 40:56Verstappen right now is Lance Stroll. Just let
- 40:59that sink in. Lance got all the points. Yeah,
- 41:04but Lance so far. Lance got all the points. That's
- 41:07true. But he really showed his true colors this
- 41:10last race. I'm hoping it was just a bad race
- 41:12for him, honestly. For Lance. Lance a lot. Yeah.
- 41:15Well, we'll see next week. We'll see. We'll see.
- 41:20But no, Bierman getting P10. I mean, three rookies
- 41:22in the top 10 is. I did not see that coming really
- 41:26in any race this season. So the fact that that's
- 41:28happening is kind of fun. You know, we're getting
- 41:33comments. Rookie's good. I'm very happy with
- 41:35rookies. Rookie's good. Rookie's good. Veteran's
- 41:39bad. I mean, he's in a kickstand. He's in a kickstand.
- 41:42But, like, usually, you know, when some of these
- 41:45vets aren't doing so well, let's say Gasly, let's
- 41:48say Carlos Sainz, maybe even Hulkenberg, even
- 41:50though he's in a crap car, you know, usually
- 41:52when teams aren't doing well, they're kind of
- 41:54like, quote, unquote. sub -tweeting in their
- 41:59interviews about the car being bad or somewhere
- 42:01in the team something being bad and something
- 42:05else. We're not seeing that right now. Gasly,
- 42:08Carlos, these guys are still saying, oh no, we're
- 42:12going to be fighting for points. Good things
- 42:14are still to come this season. Even this early
- 42:17in the season, sometimes you're seeing guys...
- 42:22yeah cars just not good you know yeah but so
- 42:25hard to hard to do when you have the max verstappen
- 42:28effect happening yeah right oh for sure um let's
- 42:31see aston uh we've kind of already briefly mentioned
- 42:35them alonzo finishing p11 i mean that's his best
- 42:38finish of the year he finished he finished the
- 42:40race that's true yeah he finished uh there's
- 42:43that uh step one for the champ uh lance Yep.
- 42:52Alpine. Honestly, I really want to yep Alpine,
- 42:55too, because it's just not. Got to get a new
- 42:59hat because this is just not fun. I'm still looking
- 43:01at you. You both were calling me crazy for Haas
- 43:05in fifth, and you put Alpine in fifth. And here
- 43:08they are with zero points. It's coming. It's
- 43:12coming. Aston. Oh, shoot, I did. But who did
- 43:15I put above Haas? Williams. Basically everyone.
- 43:18V -Carb, Alpine, Williams. Yeah, Alpine was a
- 43:22bad car. But I had Haas in 9, too. I also very
- 43:26much regret putting Aston so high, too. That's
- 43:28like the biggest regret I have. Yeah, I got Aston
- 43:30in 6. I looked into the future and saw Aston
- 43:33having a bad car. We both put V -Carb at 8. That's
- 43:35dumb. I put V -Carb low, too. V -Carb is in 8
- 43:38right now. At the moment, but I don't think that's...
- 43:41I don't know. They are. No way. Aston Martin's
- 43:44beating them. What? Yeah. You're beating V -Carp?
- 43:47Really? That's Lance, bro. Aspen Arden's making
- 43:49it all the way to fifth, baby. That's our champ
- 43:50right there. That's what I'm saying. That's our
- 43:52champ. That's our man. That is Banter with the
- 43:53boys champion. That's our nepo, baby. That's
- 43:56our guy. Oh, my God. Yeah, anyway, Alpine dumpster
- 43:59fire right now. Gasly still feels confident that
- 44:03there's speed in the car and he's going to find
- 44:04it. Jack Doohan, Logan Sargent. I mean, Jack
- 44:09Doohan. It's just, I don't know. We'll see. Give
- 44:13him a few more races. I'm not feeling confident
- 44:16in Doohan right now. Sauber. Yep. Nico Hulkenberg.
- 44:23Yep. Solid 16th. You know what? Better than I
- 44:26would have expected out of the car. Did Bortoletto
- 44:28crash in practice at all this week? No. No, he
- 44:31kept it up. Thinking of something else. Okay.
- 44:33Good. Good. I don't know. See, that's how much
- 44:36I pay attention to Sauber right now. Wait till
- 44:38next year. Well, I won't even need to pay attention
- 44:40to him next year because he will be. Hello. I'm
- 44:42watching them right now. It's okay. That's true.
- 44:44Yeah. You're getting excited for next season?
- 44:45I'm still watching Sauber. I'm so excited. Yeah.
- 44:48All right. Okay, we don't have a transition for
- 44:51this, but the comms. Did you guys have any good
- 44:54comms this week? We'll start with you, Mike.
- 44:56Oh, crap. I think I did, but I'm not. Unbelievable.
- 44:59You didn't even put it in your notes. It was
- 45:01like 2 a .m. I mean, to be fair. I was so tired.
- 45:06To be fair. Yeah, it was 2 a .m. Joe, any good
- 45:11ones? So the one that I. It was sad in the moment
- 45:15because it was happening to him, but the commentator
- 45:16said it, and I thought it was hilarious. He called
- 45:18it Beltgate, the issues that Hajar was having.
- 45:22They had no idea what was happening. They just
- 45:25had assumptions that it was the belt. They just
- 45:28kept having them. They knew he was complaining
- 45:30about it. uh crofty said at once he was like
- 45:34he's like yeah and the belt gate and you know
- 45:35i just thought that was really funny that's so
- 45:37funny i didn't even hear him say that yeah so
- 45:38that that's like the one note i had and then
- 45:40i have a couple like rummaging around there but
- 45:43i think you'll cover off on them and the ones
- 45:44you have well i only have a couple here um albon
- 45:48had one uh he just kind of came on uh albon was
- 45:53the team and he was the one that the one i have
- 45:56down is honestly you guys make absolutely no
- 45:58sense to which they responded okay And then he
- 46:02said, like, ridiculous. And then they went on
- 46:07about something else. They were telling him about
- 46:09Biermann, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, that was about
- 46:12Biermann pitting before him. So Albon was upset
- 46:15about that. And I think Albon is a little spicy
- 46:20so far to start the season. So dare I say, like,
- 46:23Albon could end up being our comm -meister of
- 46:27the year at the moment. Maybe. But. What do you
- 46:31got over there? I got one from one of the commentators,
- 46:34too, that I really loved. The album one was the
- 46:36biggest one that I had on my on my mind. I don't
- 46:38know if I have any that I definitely didn't know
- 46:40many of them, but the album one was one that
- 46:43stuck out. OK, I think they're just like, OK,
- 46:48me going on a rant on the Internet. The guy who
- 46:53I'm ranting to giving me just K. Yeah. Right.
- 46:57The one that one of the commentators said that
- 47:00had me rolling, and it's really not funny to
- 47:03everybody, probably. I don't know. I thought
- 47:05it was hilarious. But you know how, like, oh,
- 47:07you had to have the balls or the cojones for
- 47:09that. You know what I mean? Yeah. This dude was
- 47:11like, didn't know if he'd have the minerals to
- 47:14go through with it. And I really love the usage
- 47:16of the word minerals in that situation. So I
- 47:20thought it was hilarious. I'm definitely going
- 47:21to use the minerals. But, yeah, anyway. I guess
- 47:26that's a nerd joke because you guys aren't laughing.
- 47:28No, I mean, it's funny. Apparently, my IQ is
- 47:31low. Okay, I thought it was hilarious. You're
- 47:33projecting. Something crazy right now. Oh, my
- 47:38God. Anyway, any new, any other comms before
- 47:42we move on? Apparently, Yuki had one. Yuki usually
- 47:46has one. He's another spicy one. I love Yuki.
- 47:49Yuki gets fired up. It was actually, he was just
- 47:52like, the car's messy, but I'll give you feedback.
- 47:55Car's interesting. It's okay, I guess. I think
- 47:58that was literally his words. He said the car
- 48:00is interesting. Yuki, that gives us nothing.
- 48:03You realize that, right? I don't think he wants
- 48:05to. I imagine he doesn't want to say anything
- 48:08else. Yeah, I just looked up really quick. Well,
- 48:11considering other teams are listening to the
- 48:13comm channels too, you know. Yeah, I looked.
- 48:18Because there was one where another team brought
- 48:20that up this race, and I can't remember who that
- 48:22was. For what? I feel like it was Williams. Like,
- 48:24oh, Haas is doing this or whatever. Oh. You know,
- 48:27trying to, like, let the driver know. And it
- 48:30was probably Albon to which he was probably like,
- 48:31whatever, you know. I don't know. I can't remember.
- 48:34But I think it was Williams. Gotcha. I can't
- 48:37remember what that comment was. I didn't put
- 48:38it down. Yeah. Albon was, yeah, Albon was, like,
- 48:40the man, I think, just looking at it. He had,
- 48:43like, gear shift issues or something, so. Mm
- 48:45-hmm. I remember that. With that, Kev, let's
- 48:50head into our news. So to fly through this news,
- 49:06Mercedes Fred Vesti, Aston Martins, Felipe Drogovic.
- 49:13And Williams, Luke Browning will drive in FP1
- 49:17at the Bahrain GP, replacing George Russell,
- 49:20Fernando Alonso, and Carlos Sainz. I know we
- 49:25covered it in the first episode of the season,
- 49:27but I believe drivers have to give up two practices
- 49:30in the calendar now. Yep. So that's just all
- 49:33this is, getting some testing done. Let's see.
- 49:38I saw this in a couple articles. I don't know
- 49:41how true this is. They were kind of weird articles.
- 49:46Cadillac team principal Graham Loudon may have
- 49:50let out that Colin Hurta Indy car, which has
- 49:54already been mentioned by Mike on the show here.
- 49:57Got it here first. And Jack Crawford, who is
- 50:00currently an F2 driver, and he's currently Aston's
- 50:03reserve driver for F1, are a couple names that
- 50:05have been dropped. But Cadillac has allegedly
- 50:09talked to seven or eight drivers, quote, end
- 50:11quote. Also preliminary talk. So how do we feel
- 50:16about Colin Hurta and Jack Crawford, if those
- 50:19were the two? Or do you think neither one is,
- 50:22and this is smoke and mirrors, and it's going
- 50:24to be Sergio Perez and Danny Rick? Or Botas.
- 50:28Botas is another one that's been tied to them
- 50:30as well. I mentioned before the pod that I had
- 50:32some conflicting news, and this was it. I figured.
- 50:35I had heard. Because there's nothing on here.
- 50:37Right. So first off, Andretti had said that it
- 50:46would be hard to get an American driver into
- 50:47Formula One right now, which was just like a
- 50:50very small thing that they had brought up. But
- 50:52in that same bit that they were talking, Mario
- 50:55Andretti had said that Liam's performance actually
- 50:58makes Checo look very good. Which was like a
- 51:02very small thing that like somebody who's pretty
- 51:05high up in the Cadillac division is talking about
- 51:09another driver and is praising him like that.
- 51:12It's like a big look that a lot of people are
- 51:13like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Checo might
- 51:15not really be out of this. And so that was kind
- 51:19of like a thing that I saw news I think last
- 51:22week that was saying Andretti was like, yeah,
- 51:25we don't see Americans. And then you came up
- 51:28and you were like, maybe we do. Hey, I called
- 51:32it what? Episode two or whatever. Checo's going
- 51:35to be back. Checo's, I'm with it. He's going
- 51:37to be back. Checo's going to come back. You guys
- 51:40are delusional. Who's the two drivers? I honestly
- 51:43think they'll probably go with, like, I honestly
- 51:46think one of their drivers is going to be new
- 51:48-ish. It's going to be probably a rookie. I would
- 51:50not be surprised if the other one is a rookie,
- 51:52too. I think it's probably better if they get
- 51:54a vet. I don't think it's going to be Checo,
- 51:55though. Is Botas a good fit? Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 52:00Botas is a great pit. I don't think he's going
- 52:01to do it, but I think Botas would be a great
- 52:03pit. Do you think he doesn't do it, or do you
- 52:04think they don't want him, per se? I think Mercedes
- 52:07could offer more money, probably. But what does
- 52:10Mercedes... I mean, Botas wants to drive. I could
- 52:14also see Mercedes giving him to them. Even if
- 52:18he had a long contract, I could see them ending
- 52:20it if he wants to drive because they like him
- 52:22so much. I think he wants to drive a car, and
- 52:26if he's given the opportunity to, he'll go. Do
- 52:28I think they're looking at him? Probably not.
- 52:31But I don't think they're looking at Checo. God,
- 52:33if they're two vets, though, think about it.
- 52:35Sergio, Checo, and Valtteri. That'd be funny.
- 52:38Be a funny way to start your day. Two second
- 52:41seat drivers for two different WDCs. Joe's not
- 52:45on board. I just don't see it happening. I don't
- 52:47know. Do you see Chaco return to F1 at all? Or
- 52:49do you think that's it? I think it's interesting
- 52:51that he's come out saying that he's looking at
- 52:56his options for it. But that's all we've heard
- 52:59so far. You know, he also. He also confirmed
- 53:03that he was staying around Red Bull for a long
- 53:05time, but then he got kicked. He can't say that,
- 53:09though. Honestly, he can't say that I'm going
- 53:12to get kicked. Obviously, he's not going to say
- 53:13that. I just don't see him. I just don't see
- 53:17Caddy taking him. I think they're going to take
- 53:18someone else. I just don't see it happening.
- 53:20I will happily eat my hat. If it happens, my
- 53:23whole hat. We will have a video of that on Facebook
- 53:27next year when Checo signs with Cadillac this
- 53:30offseason. I don't have any good alternatives
- 53:32either. I don't have any good reasons. I just
- 53:34don't think it's going to happen. I think if
- 53:36I were to just take a shot at the dark for my
- 53:38two picks, I think I'm picking Checo Perez as
- 53:41the lead driver with Colin Hurta. Because I think
- 53:46if they can have an American driver, they won't.
- 53:48I'm kind of on board with Mike here. I also don't
- 53:50think Colin Hurta will get in because he has
- 53:54not driven in F1. Or he has not driven in the
- 53:57discipline. He does have enough super point or
- 53:59super license points to drive in Formula 1. That's
- 54:02great. He hasn't. You are correct. It is unheard
- 54:05of. I know they're both open wheel. I know IndyCar
- 54:07is not a Formula 1 car. I don't know if it's
- 54:09unheard of. I just don't think it's a smart move.
- 54:11Well, I mean, it's unheard of in the fact that
- 54:13it's never happened before. Has it? Have we confirmed?
- 54:15Okay. I've never been an IndyCar driver. We haven't
- 54:17seen somebody move from Indy to - Move from a
- 54:20different discipline right into F1. Right into
- 54:22F1, yeah. We've seen drivers move from other
- 54:24disciplines into Formula 2 and then - We've seen
- 54:29plenty of F1 drivers go into different disciplines.
- 54:32I watched Kimi race NASCAR. Exactly. That lasted
- 54:38a day. Max has a sponsorship with Aston Martin
- 54:42to drive their supercars. Which is sick. Jack
- 54:47Crawford was more of a reasonable option. It
- 54:52makes more sense than taking an IndyCar driver.
- 54:57But if you're Cadillac, I mean, you want performance
- 55:02on the track, right? But you need PR to get the
- 55:05team kicking and to just get people interested
- 55:08in it first. You're not going to be competing
- 55:10for anything right at the beginning. Do they
- 55:16want to go in with PR to get already F1 fans,
- 55:23or do they want to bring a lot of... just American
- 55:26or Cadillac fans with them. That. They want to
- 55:29tap the American market, but they want to get
- 55:33more fans in America, and that's why I think
- 55:34that's where Colin Hurta might either Colin Hurta
- 55:38or in Botas' contract, he has to have a mullet.
- 55:44And then it's fine. To be with Cadillac, you
- 55:48need to keep the mullet and the mustache. That's
- 55:51a good point. If you don't look like a NASCAR
- 55:53driver, we don't want you. That's a great point.
- 55:55So that's it. We figured it out. So Botas, number
- 55:59one driver at Cadillac with a mullet, and then
- 56:02a pick between Colin Hurta and Jack Crawford.
- 56:05Okay, perfect. And then Checo. Checo. Yeah, Checo.
- 56:09Very looking forward to seeing what they do.
- 56:11Yeah, for sure. Summer break. Let's see. Haas
- 56:13has been driving with a flawed underbody. Yeah,
- 56:17so I guess this is me. Yeah, so I did look into
- 56:20this. Yeah, I guess they were in Bahrain testing.
- 56:23They were seeing some issues with turns 9 and
- 56:2510 in Bahrain with struggles with the car. And
- 56:28they were kind of uncertain what was going on.
- 56:31They thought it might have just been something
- 56:32specific to Bahrain. So they were doing little
- 56:34minor tweaks here and there, but couldn't figure
- 56:37it out. And then they got to Melbourne and were
- 56:38like, oh, crap, we just can't turn in high corners.
- 56:41And I guess it's because their underbody got
- 56:45a major flaw in it. not able to get enough air
- 56:47underneath the car and so that's creating problems
- 56:50with you know with all of their downforce and
- 56:52everything so high speed corners are a problem
- 56:54and um a quote from ayau had stated uh the main
- 56:59issue appears to be the vf25 at low ride heights
- 57:04and so the lower they drop that car the more
- 57:07problems they're going to have and so he had
- 57:10also stated the fact that this is something that
- 57:12they don't think they can fix quick because they're
- 57:14going to need to spend time in the wind tunnel,
- 57:17trying to figure out what is going on and how
- 57:19to resolve it. So this could be multiple races
- 57:21before we start to see a change. That sucks.
- 57:24That sucks your ass. But we're still getting
- 57:26points. But Bierman got a point. We're still
- 57:28putting up multiple points, so I'm like, how
- 57:30much pace do we have if we fix this? What's this
- 57:31we stuff? Bierman. Well, Ocon had a great race.
- 57:35Ocon had a great race. He's in eighth in constructors
- 57:37or in WDC right now. Well, give us another week.
- 57:40Okay. Well, okay. Okay, buddy. Okay, buddy. Okay,
- 57:45buddy. Yeah, that's all I have. Fair enough.
- 57:50He's in ninth. Ninth. Okay, whatever. One point
- 57:53off. How many points until he's in 11th? He's
- 57:57competing, or he is currently matching points
- 57:59with Stroll. Correct. Lance. Which is our champion.
- 58:03Yeah, Banter of the Boys champion. Kev, let's
- 58:06move right into our Bahrain preview. And. Per
- 58:21usual, we are going to get up to speed for Bahrain.
- 58:25This year's race is called the Formula One Golf
- 58:28Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025. The first F1 race
- 58:34to be held in the Middle East in 2004. And turn
- 58:37one, named Michael Schumacher, is the only turn
- 58:40with a name on this track. Just a couple of fun
- 58:43facts to get you ready for the Bahrain Grand
- 58:45Prix. Looking back, last year's race. Mike. The
- 58:51starting grid was Max Verstappen to Charles to
- 58:55George Russell to Carlos Sainz. The 2024 season
- 58:59starts with Max leading the pack. Charles getting
- 59:02alongside him into turn one, but maintaining
- 59:04pace. Places, rather. Down the road, Lance Stroll
- 59:08taking the corner a bit too much and getting
- 59:10pit by the Haas of Hulkenberg to the side of
- 59:13the track where he falls to last place. Botas
- 59:16ends up running into the rear of Hulkenberg at
- 59:19the same time of the squirrel, picking up a little
- 59:21bit of damage on the first lap. All the meanwhile,
- 59:24Perez makes the move up to fourth in a still
- 59:26-dominant Red Bull. Our current WBC contender
- 59:29Lando Norris makes the move on Alonso for sixth
- 59:32place, while Russell makes a similar move on
- 59:34Leclerc for the second podium position. The start
- 59:37of the race proving quite competitive as Oscar
- 59:39makes the move shortly after Lando to overtake
- 59:41Alonso. Lap 7, Perez improves his ranking as
- 59:44he takes the final podium position from Leclerc
- 59:46after Charles had a lockup going into the back
- 59:48half DRS straight. In lap 11, Russell is already
- 59:518 seconds away from Verstappen, under pressure
- 59:53from Perez, while right behind the Ferraris begin
- 59:56to battle each other for position. Three laps
- 59:59later, the move is made on Russell, promoting
- 1:00:00Red Bull to a 1 -2 early on in the race. We see
- 1:00:03more fighting between the Ferraris a few laps
- 1:00:05later, Carlos taking position from Charles, and
- 1:00:07then fighting George for the final podium position
- 1:00:09only a lap later. He takes the position before
- 1:00:13the end of the lap. Get this man's back in the
- 1:00:15Ferrari or in a Williams or in a Red Bull or
- 1:00:18in an Audi. I don't know. We witnessed the infamous
- 1:00:22minute pit stop from our boy Botas as the crew
- 1:00:25brings out the wrong tire and he has to sit there
- 1:00:28for what feels like an eternity. He still makes
- 1:00:31it back on track. Here's the kicker. He still
- 1:00:34makes it back on track in front of Logan Sargent.
- 1:00:38The Ferrari of Leclerc fights the Mercedes of
- 1:00:41Russell for fourth place on lap 47. Makes the
- 1:00:44move and finds Ferrari in a 3 -4. Ten laps later,
- 1:00:47our 2025 Japan GP winner takes the Bahrain Grand
- 1:00:50Prix winner's trophy a year ago. Max crossed
- 1:00:53the line about 23 seconds ahead of Perez in second.
- 1:00:56Our final is Verstappen, Perez, Sainz, Leclerc,
- 1:01:00Russell, Norris, Hamilton, Piastri, Alonso, and
- 1:01:05Stroll. Boom. Dang. If that would have came over
- 1:01:12here and paper cut me in the neck, that would
- 1:01:14have been really unfortunate. I'm going to start
- 1:01:15doing that, but I've got to throw it behind me.
- 1:01:17Yeah, that would be good. I just messed up the
- 1:01:18set. Broke everything. You know what? It's a
- 1:01:23work in progress. There you go. Boom. Just like
- 1:01:25that. Let's see. So to recap our points, none
- 1:01:30of us chose Max winning because we're all idiots.
- 1:01:34Yeah, that's on me. It's all on you. But two
- 1:01:38of us at least had him on our podiums. Anyway,
- 1:01:43long story short, Joe ended up with three points.
- 1:01:46Mike ended up with three points. Smelty ended
- 1:01:48up with two points. That brings our total to
- 1:01:52Smelty leading with ten. All right. I've been
- 1:01:56rarely in the lead of anything on any of the
- 1:01:58Banter with the Boys shows. Awesome. And I host
- 1:02:02all of them. Let's see. And Joe and Mike are
- 1:02:07Joe and Mike are tight at seven. So that's that's
- 1:02:09fun. We're coming for you very slowly, but you're
- 1:02:13getting there. Yeah, you're getting there. You
- 1:02:15almost had it. So wait. So I got to go first.
- 1:02:19You got to go first. And we still have to figure
- 1:02:20out who went first last week. You did. I did.
- 1:02:23OK, you go first. So, yeah, you're going first.
- 1:02:25So, yeah, you guys go first. No, no, you go first.
- 1:02:28You go first. No, no, no, no, no. Don't you try
- 1:02:30and put this off on us. Yeah, I thought I had
- 1:02:32it. Winning this week on Bahrain. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:02:37if I can, you know, give you a little bit of
- 1:02:40historical advice, Red Bull has won two at the
- 1:02:43last, like, three years. Maybe two years, actually.
- 1:02:47That is true. That is true. Flip side, our goat
- 1:02:50Lance Stroll. He's notoriously bad At this track
- 1:02:53He got He got 9th place last year He got 9th
- 1:02:56place? Yeah that wasn't too bad That's incredible
- 1:02:58Oh sorry 10th Still points What's after Bahrain?
- 1:03:01Jeddah Oh I love Jeddah I love I love Botford
- 1:03:05If we can just I love Bahrain And I love Jeddah
- 1:03:07They're so much fun dude I feel like Max is really
- 1:03:10good In the Middle East in general I feel like
- 1:03:13Max is just really good in general. He's just
- 1:03:14really good in general. He's just a champion.
- 1:03:17He's a four -time champion. I feel like Max is
- 1:03:19just really good. All right. All right. Here
- 1:03:23it is. Here it is. Here it is. It's going to
- 1:03:26be in this order. Max, Lando, George. Whoa. No
- 1:03:33Oscar? What's wrong with you? No. Wait, wait,
- 1:03:35wait. I'm sorry. No. Oscar, not Lando. Max, Oscar,
- 1:03:38George. No Lando? Lando's in fourth. Lando's
- 1:03:45in fourth. Kimmy, maybe fifth or sixth, and then
- 1:03:48Charles is in there somewhere. Okay, we don't
- 1:03:50care. Hamilton lives in pizza. Didn't ask. No,
- 1:03:53we did not ask. That's fine. All right. You go
- 1:03:54second. You said, what was it? You said Max,
- 1:03:58Oscar, George. Crazy work. Which is kind of crazy.
- 1:04:01So here's the thing. I'm putting Faith in Lando
- 1:04:04one more time. I'm putting Lando in first. Okay.
- 1:04:08I'm putting Oscar in second. Jesus. Yeah. Let
- 1:04:11me guess. Max Verstappen. Max Verstappen in third.
- 1:04:15All right. He's on the podium. He's got to be
- 1:04:17on the podium. And you know what? And you know
- 1:04:19what? I will say. I will say. Yeah, fair, fair.
- 1:04:22I will say I've been a little unimpressed with
- 1:04:25Lando the last couple races. But you put him
- 1:04:28first. Yeah, this is kind of his... Your last
- 1:04:31hurrah. Yeah, like, don't let me down. This is
- 1:04:33his prove -it race. So then when he doesn't win
- 1:04:35in Bahrain and you change it up at Jetta... He's
- 1:04:38never touching the podium again. He's getting
- 1:04:40the dub in Jetta. Yeah. Confirmed. In 2024, Oscar
- 1:04:48was not even in... Oh, he was. He was low. He
- 1:04:51was like P8, right? You said P7. He was low.
- 1:04:53He was low. I'm taking a chance. But I'm taking
- 1:04:56a chance. Based on what I've seen this season,
- 1:04:59I think Oscar has better pace than Lando. Max
- 1:05:02is typically very good. This track, though, is
- 1:05:05also good for overtaking. I think it's a really
- 1:05:09good shot. Even if the McLarens don't qualify
- 1:05:12well, they catch up. He's won here before. Man,
- 1:05:17I feel like I've been so boring. The last three
- 1:05:21races, I've done the exact same thing. Dude,
- 1:05:24I've put Lando Oscar one, two. But you're tied
- 1:05:27for second by doing the same thing. Yeah, I can't
- 1:05:29put something crazy because I don't think Bahrain
- 1:05:32is typically a crazy race. Put Kimmy on the podium.
- 1:05:36It's a new year. Put Kimmy on the podium. You
- 1:05:40won't. You're right, I won't. No minerals. No
- 1:05:43minerals. Just so I can be different from you.
- 1:05:45Just so I can be different, we're going to go.
- 1:05:48oscar lando max yeah actually oscar lando okay
- 1:05:55though so we have we've predicted three different
- 1:05:58race winners so that's kind of nice somebody's
- 1:06:01getting two points this weekend probably based
- 1:06:06on i hope so somebody's getting at well Two points
- 1:06:10based on picking the race winner. Unless it's
- 1:06:13George. None of us are getting a point. I'm more
- 1:06:16shocked that... I'm still getting a point if
- 1:06:17George gets a point. I'm so shocked that Smelty
- 1:06:19is only going to get one point this weekend.
- 1:06:21That's crazy. What are you talking about? Oh,
- 1:06:24you put Max to win, didn't you? Sure did. Oh,
- 1:06:27okay. He's probably getting like three points.
- 1:06:28He'll get two points. Two or three points. He'll
- 1:06:30get two points. Okay. I'm getting three at least.
- 1:06:34Because of Max or because of George? You're so
- 1:06:40confident George is in third. Yes. George is
- 1:06:43going to. Honestly, Mercedes is going to have
- 1:06:45an interesting year. Honestly, George in third
- 1:06:47isn't a hot take at all. No, it's definitely
- 1:06:49not. It's not a hot take. That's the thing. But
- 1:06:51nobody wants to talk about that. It's McLaren
- 1:06:54or, you know, obviously Max. If we're looking
- 1:06:56at history and stats, Lando needs to be in your
- 1:07:00podium. because he's been in the podium every
- 1:07:02single race so far. You're talking to the leader,
- 1:07:04buddy. I'm just kidding. Oh, my God. The eagle.
- 1:07:09I'm just kidding. How do you fit in that hat?
- 1:07:12You know what? The funny part is I don't, actually.
- 1:07:14I wish it was. You know what? I didn't think
- 1:07:16about that. That's a good point. I will stop
- 1:07:20talking. Not bad. Not bad. No, no, no, no. I
- 1:07:23basically said what I wanted to. Historically,
- 1:07:26Lando's the only one that's gotten into the podium
- 1:07:27each time. max has been and then it's like between
- 1:07:30max and george for like who's the most kids and
- 1:07:32oscar actually who's the most consistent just
- 1:07:34wait george will be in my number one slot at
- 1:07:36some i didn't even take this into account i wrote
- 1:07:38this down i didn't take this into account when
- 1:07:40making my own podium i'm not changing anything
- 1:07:42so it doesn't matter um yeah i mean ferrari was
- 1:07:45struggling in um in barring testing uh with understeer
- 1:07:51In Bahrain, while Mercedes looked to be in tip
- 1:07:55-top form and were super dominant in Bahrain.
- 1:07:58So you might actually be cooking with George
- 1:08:00in the podium. But we all still picked Ferrari
- 1:08:04to be second in constructors, and right now it
- 1:08:07is not looking awesome for that. At least I'm
- 1:08:11not alone. We didn't expect Kimi to be so good.
- 1:08:14We can all suffer together. I didn't. Yeah, we
- 1:08:17won't get into it. We'll table it because we're
- 1:08:19already over. But, like, no, none of us. I didn't
- 1:08:21either. And with the two veteran drivers at Ferrari,
- 1:08:25there's a lot of hype. I felt like they were
- 1:08:27coming in with a fast car. I do have to give
- 1:08:30it to you, though. They ended last season okay.
- 1:08:32The first race was like a cluster, and I kept
- 1:08:35on saying, you know, Kimi got that high up because
- 1:08:37it was a cluster, but he's consistently gotten
- 1:08:40points every single race. Japan with the little
- 1:08:43overtaking, I mean, you've just got to be fast.
- 1:08:45You've just got to be fast, and he was fast,
- 1:08:47and he had the fastest lap. I feel bad. I don't
- 1:08:49know. It's really interesting. I feel bad that
- 1:08:51the race for the podium is so close between three,
- 1:08:56four people that I'm not paying attention to.
- 1:08:58paying attention to the rookies as much as I
- 1:09:00feel like I wanted to because we're just so close
- 1:09:02up there. Yeah, there's a lot of battling going
- 1:09:06on all over the grid. I mean, between those and
- 1:09:09then, like, 12 through 15, 16, 17 is kind of
- 1:09:14a battle sometimes, too. Yep. Yeah, no. Yeah,
- 1:09:20Mike, well, thanks for being here, brother. Thanks,
- 1:09:22Mike. Thanks, Mike. You were here. It was great.
- 1:09:24Mike was here. It was good. I was here. I'll
- 1:09:27have to give you my hot take later because we
- 1:09:29don't have time for it. I'm going to gray your
- 1:09:32hairs. Do you want to just give it real quick?
- 1:09:35It's not going to be quick. You will not let
- 1:09:38it be quick. Fair enough. Fair enough. Next week.
- 1:09:44Should we start with this hot take next week?
- 1:09:46Just rip the band -aid off. Hot take. Depends
- 1:09:49on how crazy Bahrain is. Anything like Japan.
- 1:09:52We'll have all the time in the world. I say that.
- 1:09:55Good call. Good call. Good call. Joe, good job.
- 1:09:59Thank you so much. I tried really hard. Yeah.
- 1:10:02Thank you. Good. Happy to be here. Good. Good,
- 1:10:05good. I'm glad you're happy to be here. Not calling
- 1:10:07your mom this week to come pick you up. She's
- 1:10:11already here. She's already here. She's been
- 1:10:13here for a while. She's actually texting him
- 1:10:15right now. Yeah. Yeah. With that, don't forget

- 1:10:29I think we are here next week. Yeah. I should
- 1:10:31have looked that up. Yep. We're here next week.
- 1:10:32Sounds good. Sounds good. Yep. We're here. Why
- 1:10:37do you keep looking at me? Dead silence. All
- 1:10:40right. Peace. We're out of here. Don't forget
