- speaker-0: up on the coffee table popcorn in a rusted bowl old farm field on the flat screen glowing man this night just sold my soul average Where the dust meets the frame We're riding out with old Henry Calling every shot by name Average home theater ⁓ We'll drag the truth out slow ⁓ speaker-1: Howdy, partners. This is Nels with Average Home Theater. speaker-0: It's producer Nick Yee-haw. Can you think the people, you think the folks out there can sense a theme in the beginning of our, ⁓ the beginning of our, our intro? We're going to do something a little bit different today for the channel, aren't we? speaker-1: Yeehaw! Yeah, I mean, no science fiction or horror. ⁓ we're going to be doing Westerns and, ⁓ primarily old Henry. speaker-0: Yeah, we're going to be talking about old Henry. speaker-1: So the question is going to be, is this a top 10 Western? And the reason I'm saying I'm asking this question is because I really liked this movie. ⁓ I'm pretty sure you rather enjoyed it. You saw it over here with me. We watched it. What about a week and a half ago? speaker-0: Yeah, we can have a couple of weeks ago. ⁓ It's something that we had heard of from a friend who throws away us ⁓ physical media. ⁓ speaker-1: What's that guy's name? I'm not going to say any names, but Seth, think. Yeah. speaker-0: Um, he told, he told you about it and I had kind of overheard it. He said, you gotta watch it. So you watched it. And then I had gone over and we were trying to figure out what to watch. And you said, let's watch old Henry. And I don't know. I don't really feel like watching the Western. And then you said, no, let's watch old Henry. And, um, 38 seconds after old Henry was over before the credits rolled, I was on Amazon. Purchasing the 4k of old Henry, which I have ⁓ this guy right here. Yep. speaker-1: which was what I had and that's the basically the same copy we watched over here. If you want to do a quick review on the 4K, I thought that it looked and sounded great. speaker-0: Yeah, so if you Yeah, it's, it's a beautiful movie to begin with. It's all, mean, mostly outdoors. It's a Western, the, golden grass against the blue skies. It's, ⁓ in daytime for the most part. ⁓ you had commented the director who I don't remember who it is. I don't remember things like that, but, ⁓ the long, the wide shots, you know, the wide panoramic shots of the horizon. It's, it looks and sounds amazing. I do not regret this purchase at all. speaker-1: And this was only the second time that I watched it. And I didn't really remember a whole lot. Of course, you know, we're doing spoiler free right now. We will get into spoilers later, but. speaker-0: for you for now. speaker-1: What I really, really remembered was kind of when you find out who old Henry is and what his past was that of course stuck out like a sore thumb, but the rest of the movie, I didn't really remember it being a slow burn and it very much is. It is. It's, it's he, the director, like I, like I was pointing out, he was just these great big shots and focusing, on like speaker-0: It is. speaker-1: Because it's supposed to show where he's out in Oklahoma, and he's out kind of in the middle of nowhere by himself, like his little lot of land. Right. speaker-0: They even they comment about how his his little his place is kind of tucked away and hidden from everything. ⁓ Gorgeous movie. ⁓ speaker-1: It was shot on film, obviously, because you can tell that. Yeah. speaker-0: the, you mentioned the plot twist. I saw it with you for the first time and then I watched it a second time with, ⁓ with, Jacob who made an appearance on our, one of our recent videos and he's not a Western guy at all. And he really liked it. ⁓ having watched it twice, you watch it the first time for the, the twist or whatever. You don't know what's coming and that's okay. That was awesome. And then you watch it a second time just to kind of take it all in. Cause it really is an awesome movie. The. the acting and the performances, the writing, the visuals. It's once you, once you know what's happening and can kind of concentrate on, you know, a little bit more relaxed and kind of just watch the movie. It's, it's great. Like it's rare that I'll watch a movie and when it's over, say to myself, self, I wish there was about 10, 15 minutes more of that. after watching it a second time, I was like, man, they, they could have, they could have shown a little, a little bit more of his exploits. Right. A little bit, a little bit more. But I mean, it's, it's great, man. I loved it. Yeah. I very happy that it got suggested because I'd never heard of this movie before. Um, um, the person who will not be speaker-1: I think it was and let me look it up real quick. I'm pretty sure it was a covid movie. It came out during all of that. It was twenty twenty one. OK, yeah. speaker-0: 2021. I watched a special feature. They're all ⁓ they're all wearing masks and stuff. They're doing interviews on set and everything and they're wearing masks and stuff. So that that makes sense. It was it was quiet. ⁓ I've never heard of it. And ⁓ I'm kind of glad this is one of those movies. Don't go research it before you watch it. Don't Google it. Don't IMDb it. Just watch it. I've told ⁓ I work with a bunch of guys who enjoy Westerns and I went to work the day after the Monday after I went to work and was telling a bunch of guys like, you've got to watch this movie. They've all watched it. They've all loved it. One of them has already made the purchase. like it's, it's really good. It's a sleeper. I don't know how it didn't get as much recognition or how we. speaker-1: It was, it was the pandemic and it was a low, low budget movie. So I guess they just didn't have a budget to advertise it and, and, whatnot. But man, talk about slip through the cracks because this is just, this is great. so if you like tombstone, if you like young guns, if you like, ⁓ I don't know, magnificent seven, unforgiven, anything like that, there is no doubt in my mind. You're gonna love this movie. Just hands down. speaker-0: It's a good, a good slow burn, well executed. It's a good movie, but it's a, it's, it's a good Western. It's a great movie and a great Western. yeah, cause I'm not, look, I'm not huge on Westerns. My, my experience was whether Westerns is limited. ⁓ you mentioned tombstone open range is a favorite of mine with Kevin Foster and Robert Duvall. I've seen young guns. Those are, you know, highly. kind of Hollywood eyes and yeah, yeah. Yeah, they're fun. Uh, spaghetti Westerns I've seen. I was on a kick for a little while. I was going to try to watch some. watched a fistful of dollars and a few dollars more. They were okay. I bought, I have the good, the bad, the ugly haven't watched it. The length of it is intimidating to me, but I can remember when I was little, that's all my dad loved Westerns. speaker-1: lot of fun. speaker-0: And I can remember being young and he sat me down and we watched Once Upon a Time in the West, which is three hours plus. And I remember as a 10, 11, 12 year old being bored out of my mind. speaker-1: Well, he did that same guy did Once Upon a Time in America. And I've only seen it once I have the DVD. But I thought that was awesome. That was a great movie. But it was very long. was like three hours long. speaker-0: I was I was way too young to appreciate it and thinking back I think that's why maybe ⁓ I didn't grow up wanting to watch him or wanting to you know trying to like him because I had that experience. ⁓ The true grit remake I've never seen the original but I love the good movie remake yeah. ⁓ speaker-1: ⁓ Kevin Costner's Wyatt Earp is good. I mean, it's not as good as Tombstone, but it is a good movie. know, that one explores his, ⁓ it that's truly a story about just wider from when he was a young man up until the end. it's probably a little bit is just when he's in tombstone, right? But this is like, Wyatt Earp is his whole, his whole story, but speaker-0: I haven't seen that one. Less sensational, probably. speaker-1: So, before we get into spoiler territory, I do want to say that from our, well, from my limited Western experience, from the movies that I've watched, ⁓ and I've watched more than 10 Westerns, but most of them are newer. This is absolutely towards the top. ⁓ speaker-0: me so I mean, top, top five top three. It's something it's something that I can and will watch over and over again. It's it's it's great. speaker-1: Yeah, ⁓ yeah. Yeah, because like Unforgiven is fantastic, but I don't think I can watch that one ⁓ as much as I can watch this. There's no way. speaker-0: I told you earlier today, I had a moment of weakness and went crazy on Amazon a little earlier. Oh, yeah. Unforgiven is one of the ones that I got. It was like 20 bucks on 4K. So I figured it's while I'm in the mood, I think it's going to. speaker-1: You got unforgiven? You will not regret that. You will not regret it. That's a good movie. speaker-0: And I feel like I saw it maybe a long, long time ago. If I did, I don't remember any. So it's going to be like watching it for the first time, whether it's the first time or not. ⁓ so I'm looking forward to that. Maybe before the end of the weekend, I'll, I'll put that in and check that out. But yeah, this one is, this one is up there, man. It's, it's great. Definitely a must watch, ⁓ no matter what kind of movie you like, it's, it's a, if you like good movies, you're to like this movie. Yeah. speaker-1: like my wife doesn't like westerns, but she likes Tombstone. mean, she's seen it, but I think she would appreciate this more. You know what saying? Cause it's not like an action movie. It's not Hollywood like Tombstone is, you know, this is, this is very independent. ⁓ speaker-0: For I mean, there's there's what six characters in the movie, maybe. But there's a lot going on. There's a lot. You know, there's the relationship between the dad and the son. And then you got you trying to figure out what this guy really is. And you're trying to figure out what those guys really are and what they're doing. It's it's a lot for ⁓ for a relatively small movie, I guess. ⁓ It's not a lot happening, but there's a lot happening. It's a it's a It's a simple movie, if that makes sense. speaker-1: Yeah. It's a very basic premise. Yeah. Yeah. Very basic premise. Just man living on a farm with his son and some unsavory characters end up around him and press their luck end up in a bad situation themselves. And the whole time you're trying to figure out who this guy is because they're You know, he has a past and it's very, it's hinted that he had a, bad past, but you don't know what he did, what he was a part of. And all of that stuff comes to fruition at the end. And it's very hard to talk about this movie because you don't want to give anything away. So just a few little lessons, can watch it. speaker-0: most of the characters you're trying to figure out what's going on with them like you don't really speaker-1: Even the bad guys. Yeah. You don't really like, okay. So sheriff Ketchum and his deputies, are they really law men or are they not? Trying to figure that out as well. speaker-0: Yeah, yeah, the injured guy that they take in how is he who he says he is or is he just trying to survive, you know? Yeah, and then Lee got old Henry. ⁓ Henry. So we want to want to get into spoilers a little bit or what? speaker-1: definitely Probably watch old Henry. We're gonna get into spoilers. So if you haven't watched old Henry, go ahead, trust us, watch it. And then come back after about 12, 13 minutes of the video, you can watch our little spoiler discussion. speaker-0: Please go no further. It'll be worth it. Please go no further until you've watched it. speaker-1: Yep. Okay. right. So here we are. We're in spoiler territory. speaker-0: So. ⁓ Henry Henry McCarty feel like I've heard that name before speaker-1: Right. So it's a good thing that we didn't know that apparently you said that's Billy the kid's real name. speaker-0: Billy the kids birth name after watching the movie, I did some research. His birth name was Henry McCarty. And we, we talked about the other day after you see the movie and know what's going on, they tell you from jump the whole time. They tell you who he is and they give you all kind of obvious clues as to who he is. But I don't know for me, you usually pick up on stuff like that more than I do quicker than I do. But when they reveal who he was, it was like a cartoon piano falling on my face. Like it was awesome. One of the, one of the better reveals. speaker-1: Your exact words were no shit. speaker-0: Yeah. He was, he was building the kid the whole time. ⁓ it was, I did not see it coming. It was one of the better, most memorable move. Was it even reveals reveal? Yeah. ⁓ it's yeah. It's not a, it's just so when that, when you figure it, when he, they show the newspaper article. speaker-1: twist. It's a review. speaker-0: And you figure out who he is. He straps on that revolver and he goes out and his entire demeanor almost changes. When he starts talking Mexicans Mexican, when he starts talking Spanish to these guys and tells them y'all are not going to get out of this. Like I got, I got goosebumps. I just got goosebumps. I want to watch it again. That was good. The way it was done. And then you still have 15, 20 minutes of movie left of him doing what he does. speaker-1: So speaker-0: So yeah, I mean, we can start at the top. ⁓ It's old Henry McCarty. He runs this little farm with his son. His wife is dead. ⁓ He talks about how he's been in the New Mexico territory and all these places that Billy the Kid actually was. He's got speaker-1: see a Wyatt, his son's name is Wyatt and he's a teenager. So he's he's growing up. He's like, what 16. He wants to I mean, we know what being a 16 year old boy is like, like you're you're trying to figure out who you are. Right. You like I'm I know I'm turning into a man. You're your hormones like you want to it will take nothing for you to slap somebody in the mouth, you know, type of stuff as you're growing up as a boy. And he's going through that. And he's stuck in the middle of nowhere. Right. It's just him and his dad. Mom died 10 years prior. So he was what? Five or six years old when his mom died. So speaker-0: He wants to be a man and do man stage. speaker-1: Yeah, right. He wants to be a man. And he knows that his dad had all these adventures. He knows his dad did all kinds of stuff. He just doesn't know what it is. His dad saw. Yeah, his dad was all over the place did all these things. But what did he do? He won't tell me he won't teach me how to shoot a gun. He won't teach me man stuff. speaker-0: And he doesn't understand why he won't tell him and he doesn't understand why he won't teach him. And you find out at the end why he won't teach. speaker-1: Yeah, he doesn't want him to do what he did. speaker-0: It reminded me a lot of road to petition to petition. Yes. The journey that father and son took and he didn't want him to be like his dad. You know, he didn't want to be like him. so yeah, you, you know, from the beginning, there's something and the brother in law is there, ⁓ the wife's brother, the deceased wife's brother, he's there helping them on the farm and like, he's trying to explain to the kid, like, just kind of give it time and, know, You'll you'll grow up in time and it's a trace Atkins. speaker-1: Yeah, Trace asked, I think he says something to the effect of only a couple of more years and you'll be able to do whatever you want or something like that. You know, your dad's a good man. Just help him out while you're here type of thing. speaker-0: And you can tell how, for lack of a better term, you could tell that old Henry McCarty is very street smart. Yeah. You know, he knows he's, he's, he's trying to protect the kid. You know, they, they see the horse. There's a, there's just this horse is saddled up, ready to go horse on the horizon. He tells him, you know, go in the house, whatever I'm to go out. I'm going to figure this out. You need to stay here. ⁓ he kind of figures it's going to be trouble. He knows how to. speaker-1: Yeah, I his instincts as soon as they saw blood on the saddle he knew that something was going on speaker-0: Yeah. He knows how to track. He knows how to cover his tracks. And then he goes out and finds the, ⁓ the human that the horse belongs to. speaker-1: Yeah, his name is Curry, C-U-R-R-Y. speaker-0: Curry right. Curry is shot and barely alive. I thought he was when he finds him and turns him over and everything. I thought that he was dead until he he puts him on the saddle and brings them home. The curry is shot and also in the possession of a of a satchel full of a large amount of money. And ⁓ he speaker-1: And did say at first? At first he says, nope. speaker-0: Nope, he rides away and he walks away. speaker-1: Yeah. Cause he knew, then old Henry, obviously at this point, you know, he's probably what? 50 years old or something like that. Our age, late forties. speaker-0: Yeah, it happened in 1906. We'll have to figure that math out. speaker-1: And he, he's wise at this point, but then his, because he's matured, he can't, he can't just leave him to die. Can't leave it goes back. Yeah. Yep. And what I find interesting is that shows, and it comes into play at the end when he says, you know, you're going to hear a lot of things about me. Some of them are true, but most of them are not. ⁓ so they, they really humanize the Billy, the kid. character like he wasn't. speaker-0: He was a human. wasn't a legend. He was I mean, he's a legend, but he was he was a human being. You know, he was supernatural and ⁓ speaker-1: only that he maybe he wasn't as much of a piece of crap as he is made out to be you know what I'm saying I mean yeah I don't know anything about Billy the Kid other than young guns so I really know I really don't know what he was like but yeah anyway speaker-0: Yeah, agree. He, uh, it, like you said, it humanizes him. has a change of heart and realizes he can't leave the guy out there. So he, he brings him home and he's, but once again, he's very, very cautious. He takes care of the guy. He wants to ride into town to see if he can get a doctor, but he knows the guy's not going to make it, um, tends to his wounds as best as he can. He ties him up. So if he comes to, he can't attack anybody or hurt anybody like very They're very smart. Like he's ⁓ he's seen and done some things maybe. ⁓ And then the the boy he leaves to go to find the doctor and the boy sees him putting the the satchel of money and the guy's revolver in a little a little nook a little hidden space. ⁓ And of course the 16 year old he's curious he wants to find out what's going on. He goes find the ⁓ the stuff and they show a picture of a newspaper clipping. He has a box of goodies, ⁓ old newspaper clippings. He's got some bullets in there, revolver, whatever. And he is a newspaper clipping, plain as day about the Lincoln County War. speaker-1: Well, and it says Garrett gets his man. Yeah. And yeah, it's so funny because I didn't catch that the first time. But when you and I were watching it and it's right there, I'm like, I was looking, I was like, did he notice? You didn't say anything. I was like, okay, I don't think he caught it. Yeah. Because I mean, we all know Pat Garrett is supposedly the one who killed him. So when you see that it's like, speaker-0: Holy shit. that time, you don't know why that's relevant. the, you know, the guy wakes up, he gets free. ⁓ The, the son, they left a knife next to the bedside. The guy wakes up, he gets free, he attacks the son. And then it's right as, ⁓ old Henry's getting home and he kind of handles that situation. And then from there on out, you're one, and then he gets a visit from, ⁓ Steven Dorff plays, ⁓ the, sheriff. Sheriff Kenza, he gets a visit from them. They're looking for the guy. They're looking for the guy that he found that they obviously shot. Basically saying he's a wanted criminal. He's a bank robber or whatever. We're looking for him. And the way he's so smart, the way he he gets questions, the way he asks questions and gets information. ⁓ These people are going to have to prove to me that they are who they say they are. And he sees through the BS immediately. speaker-1: ⁓ yeah, he knows. speaker-0: He's got instincts. He's intelligent. ⁓ So he sends them packing. He knows that they're not who they say they are. And they know that the guy they want is in that house. So speaker-1: Sheriff Ketchum knows that what did he say? Did you see the way he was holding that pistol? Yes. I've never seen a farmer hold a pistol that way. speaker-0: He's very observant of all he he knows he knows more that there's more to the story also speaker-1: Well, yeah, because one of them, one of his boys is a hothead. He's like, I don't understand why we just don't go over there and, take care of it. And he's like, you have no idea what we're dealing with here. You know, that's not just an old. speaker-0: armor. Go do some go do some reconnaissance. Yeah, go do some reconnaissance and I'll gather a posse in the next town. speaker-1: Yeah. And then he goes and decides to try to take him out and old Henry does what old Henry does. He takes him out. speaker-0: Yeah. I'd smarted him, maneuvers him. And then yeah, that's that's that and then gets gets rid of the body. But the way he questions ⁓ once the once Curry comes to and is able to kind of tell him his version of what's going on the way he questions him. ⁓ The way he asked questions about ⁓ yeah, you were from this town. the lady, the lady ran that house and the guy was like, well, yeah, that's her, but she was no lady. And he says, you know, ⁓ you know, so-and-so, you mean colonel so-and-so and he's given all these description about the guy's ear and all this other stuff. Like he's asking questions in a way that if this guy calls me on my BS, then I know he's telling the truth. And then that's when he says another glaring hint. He talks about being there in the stable. the night that Billy the kid was shot. And he describes it perfectly. And that's when he lets him go. Cause he had, had given him one hand free. The more information he gave him, the more he started to trust him. gave him a hand free to eat his soup or whatever. And then as soon as he told them the Billy the kid story, I was there that night. He let, he lets him free. I mean, if that's not the, what the information, the clue that you need to make a determination on who this guy really is, then I don't know. I don't know what, speaker-1: You and I didn't. speaker-0: Catch it. No, never saw it coming. Never saw it coming. And then the guy starts having flashbacks of that night. And you think he's having, you don't know what the flashbacks are. But then later on you realize it's him remembering, you know, that night. It was something he had told him to get down. You'll be fine. speaker-1: He said, keep your head down. You'll be all right. speaker-0: keep your head down, you'll be all right. And then at the end, when it hits the fan, that's what triggers the memory. Billy the Kid or old Henry tells his son, keep your head down, you'll be all right. And then it snaps. And that's the big reveal. ⁓ speaker-1: starts looking at it if you'd like. speaker-0: Yeah, it's you. know. I know you. ⁓ yeah, long story short, the the the the guy come Stephen Dorff, catch him Sheriff Sheriff catch him comes back with his posse. You figure out who we dealing with. And then there's a standoff and an awesome gunfight ensues. speaker-1: And look, not just gunfight, he's like, jugging people. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah, he stabbed that dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The way he moved, like he made himself a smaller target. He turned sideways. He's moving around and dancing around. It's almost kind of funny at times, but you know what he's doing. He's moving around because if he stands still, he's gonna get shot by all these guys. ⁓ speaker-1: Right. ⁓ it's it's great. And I don't know if you noticed, but I'm pretty sure he switches from shooting whichever way he was running. So like he starts running, he starts off he shoots with his right hand. But when he starts running across the porch, he's got in his left hand, and he's pulling the hammer backwards. Like, so he was using both hands is ambidextrous or he he just knows how to shoot with both hands. Yeah. speaker-0: So good. I mean, how have we not mentioned Tim Blake Nelson, the role? speaker-1: ⁓ just just fantastic. mean, awesome. I haven't seen a whole lot with him. Same. But ⁓ speaker-0: man, I can think of was the ballot of Buster Scruggs. He was in one of the little vignettes. That's the whole speaker-1: Brother, where are thou? He's the one with, Oh yeah, look, I've only seen that once. So I can't really say a whole lot, but he, it's him, John Tuturo and George Clooney. speaker-0: Yeah, I've never heard a negative thing about that movie though. Never. I've only heard. speaker-1: Not crazy. I watched it and I wasn't crazy about it. ⁓ They, they, they form a band and they start singing and, and playing ⁓ on the radio, I don't remember the significance of it, of why it's, it's a weird movie. It's kind of strange. ⁓ speaker-0: I've always heard positive things about it, but I've never had the the only V to watch it. Yeah. speaker-1: I'm sorry, you know people around here don't know people people don't know what the obvious speaker-0: My bad. I've never had the desire to watch that particular film. speaker-1: You think you talk at a cajun's over here. this particular movie film. speaker-0: And they've had the on view to watch that. No. So, yeah. I mean, I don't know if we can say any more about this movie to hype it up. I hope it's I hope we're not over hyping it. I don't think we are. The the end end is. speaker-1: poetic. here we go. I as much as all of that, the rest of the movie, how good it was the and even even though he says I don't believe in redemption, his little speech to his son. Yeah, man. That's good. little 30 second speech. speaker-0: Yes. Yeah. So you end up finding out that Curry is a bad guy. He was, he was a deputy because there's a line in the, in the beginning of the movie about the son is question of the dad. Why don't you tell me everything? You're a liar. And that, and ⁓ Henry basically says not telling you the whole truth or not telling you everything is not the same as lying. And then that comes back when Curry tells him that like he was a deputy, but then he joined the gang and you know, he And he didn't lie to him. He just didn't tell him the whole truth. And then he's now he's going to be famous for shooting and killing Billy the kid Billy the kid which he he got shots him and yeah, like Billy the kids dying and gives his son the speech and basically, you know, I didn't like some of the things that they say about me are true. A lot of them are I don't want you to be like me and go on. speaker-1: Something to the effect of the thing that I wish people could know about me is something to the effect of I got to raise a boy like you or something like that. A very touching line. speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah, he's just, he's the, he's just trying to protect him the whole time. He was just, the whole thing was about protecting him. speaker-1: Yeah, but deep down and what I'm saying is he was very proud of Wyatt, like he, so he finally got to express and tell him that one of the best things is that I got to raise a boy like you like he so Wyatt knows that his dad loves him and is actually very proud of him. So I thought that was good. speaker-0: Yeah. And it just, it just a, just a great, it adds to the mystery. adds to the legend because you know, there's, there's question. Did Pat Garrett really shoot Billy the kid? And you know, yeah. Did he continue to live? And then in the, in the early to mid 1900s, they had people come forward saying, I am Billy the kid and I can prove it. And none of that stuff ever panned out is just, it's just neat to think that this is, this is a possible. speaker-1: Right, because they were afraid. speaker-0: A possible story is something that maybe could have happened because you know, he's they've never from what I understand, they've never actually found a body found the grave. There's a great speaker-1: The grave that they do have has been moved several times. Nobody even knows if that's really Billy the Kid in there. speaker-0: Right. So, ⁓ yeah, man, it was, it's, it makes it even better when you think about that aspect of it is, ⁓ you know, maybe Billy, the kid did grow old and something like that, that did happen. He died, ⁓ you know, anonymously as a farmer or raising his kid, you know, that it could happen. speaker-1: It's a possibility. speaker-0: Possibility, we don't know. ⁓ Man, such a good movie, such a good movie. speaker-1: Yep. just the whole The Billy the Kid story is just so neat. know, if it's even if it wasn't really as neat as it's been portrayed in Hollywood, it's now become a legend. And it's just it's just a lot of fun. know? Yeah. speaker-0: I don't, I don't know. I don't know what else to say about it. If you've made it this far, hopefully you've watched it already. but yeah, sorry. speaker-1: Yeah, because if not, we gave plenty of warnings. So I sure hope if they hadn't watched this movie, they didn't continue on. speaker-0: If you've watched it and you got this far, please let us know what y'all thought about it because ⁓ we might be crazy. Maybe there's some other people out there that are more experienced with Westerns that don't think this is that good compared to, you know, whatever. ⁓ But I, you know, it'd be hard off the top of my head to think of five Westerns that I've seen that are better than this one. speaker-1: Right. I agree. I think it's right up there with Tombstone and Young Guns. mean, yes, as far as favorite, because Young Guns on a technical level is not really that good. I mean, it's a little on the cheesy side. speaker-0: Very stylized. speaker-1: Yeah, it's very stylized, but man, it's a lot of fun. And Young Guns 2, Billy the Kid is like crazy. You know, he's crazy in the first one, but he's really crazy in the second one. speaker-0: Yeah, cuz the first one's more about the regulators and the Lincoln County more and all that and he's a he's a centerpiece But it's not really about him. Well His second one's about him the gang man and Lou Diamond Phillips and all those other guys Yeah, ⁓ yeah, Kiefer Sutherland, that's right Yeah, that's ⁓ I mean I wonder that's been the goal since we watched ⁓ Henry is gonna be speaker-1: second one pretty much. Doc. Southern's dock. substitute the effect of every time we start or we get in a gunfight, you start laughing and I shit my britches. speaker-0: Yeah, I need to watch shows again, There's ⁓ something else I've been trying to get Jacob to watch and he never really wants to watch it. And ⁓ after after we watched old Henry as like, okay, now we need to watch young guns. he's he's much more open to it now. speaker-1: Dirty Steve is a lot of fun in the first one. Yeah, German Moroni. speaker-0: Yeah, yeah, he's really good. And then Charlie Sheen, Charlie Sheen was in Charlie. speaker-1: Why aren't they killing us? Because we're in the spirit world. speaker-0: ⁓ yeah. Jack Palance, I believe was in the first one. speaker-1: Yeah, he's the bad guy. speaker-0: Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. speaker-1: Movie. All right. guess that'll about wrap it up for, ⁓ old Henry, guess. speaker-0: Bye. Yeah, I don't I don't know what else we can say man. Watch it. Watch it. it. Watch it. Let us know how you like speaker-1: Yep. All right. Well, we're to end it here. Like subscribe, tell your friends. We'll catch you on the next one. partner. speaker-0: Yeah
