- 0:00A new podcast, Brianna over here is fiddling with her mic.
- 0:03She finally got it sorted. You think she a podcast rookie
- 0:05over here. But we have an exciting week.
- 0:09We just got back from a nice trip over to Arizona and now
- 0:13we're home for a 2 day span to get a lot of tasks done and get
- 0:18ready to get back on the road for the Vegas shoot, which is
- 0:23this weekend. So when you guys are listening
- 0:25to this on Wednesday, I will be shooting my first competitive
- 0:28arrows indoor ever at Vegas on Friday.
- 0:31Really exciting stuff. How have things been going
- 0:35they've. Been going well, they've been
- 0:40going well. I feel to have many updates
- 0:43these days. I just peddle on tasks, film.
- 0:48It'll make some stuff for, for clients and you know, start with
- 0:54the new one. Really like the subcontracting
- 1:00in a week or two. And that's really it for me, you
- 1:05know, not much new in my world. Why are you wearing a blanket
- 1:10when it's 81° in the podcast studio?
- 1:13I don't know, I just enjoy a blanket and as if shorts on so I
- 1:17enjoy a blanket. That seems unbelievable.
- 1:20I feel quite cozy, yeah. So how did you enjoy Arizona?
- 1:25You did shoot 2 fun courses and you also filmed.
- 1:30What was your thoughts on the Rumble in the Rocks tournament
- 1:33in Dragoon? You know, how did you like the
- 1:37fun courses? How do you feel like you
- 1:38performed? How do you feel like you're
- 1:40filming was how? Give me kind of the the rundown
- 1:42on what you thought of the event as a whole.
- 1:45Yeah, that was our first time going.
- 1:49We passed that exit so many times and I'm always commented
- 1:56on the rocks there and didn't know that that was where the
- 1:59archery range was, that they hold rumble off the rocks.
- 2:03I don't know, like, so they don't use it regularly as a
- 2:06range because it's a ranch, right?
- 2:10But a club auction obviously puts on desert, high desert.
- 2:15Rumble in the Rocks. No, but there's a club that puts
- 2:18Rumble in the Rocks is the name of that specific event.
- 2:20That's not the name of the club that puts on Rumble in the
- 2:23Rocks. It's like high desert something
- 2:26or other. Desert Archers.
- 2:28Desert Archers, that's it. Is that where their local range
- 2:33is all the time? I have no idea.
- 2:36Me either, I don't know, but it didn't look like it was.
- 2:40So I wonder where there their club is if it's not located
- 2:45there. So then it was that was just a
- 2:46thought I had while I was there. But it is one of the coolest
- 2:53places in Arizona to have an archery shoot.
- 2:57It's, I mean, if you've ever been to Arizona or parts of like
- 3:02Southern California where you just see like these big boulders
- 3:06pop out of nowhere and they're just like boulders on top of
- 3:09boulders that make up a mountain that's rumble in the rocks.
- 3:13And imagine throwing an archery shoot amidst all of that.
- 3:18Just such a cool backdrop and you know, area to snake through
- 3:24courses and place targets and whatnot.
- 3:28So granted, it was, it's part of a series.
- 3:32So the targets weren't like in ultra challenging positions just
- 3:39because of what the shoe was. But I could see how they have
- 3:42other shoots there or if someone put one on there.
- 3:45It would be a crazy cool location for an archery shoot
- 3:51just because you could have so many, you know, trick shots and
- 3:55you know, steep shots and shots that you got to climb up on
- 3:58boulders and you could do a lot there.
- 4:00So the venue itself, super cool as far as geography, topography,
- 4:06Then the venue as far as like the ranch that they have there.
- 4:13I know you loved the part where there's a literal saloon, like
- 4:18literal swinging doors, cowboy saloon on site.
- 4:24Yeah, it's a horse like vacation ranch essentially.
- 4:30So you can like, hoard your horses there and vacation and
- 4:33trail ride and whatnot. So I did get to say hello to
- 4:37some horses, which was very cute.
- 4:39But yeah, they've got like a cowboy saloon there and they
- 4:44have cabins. Cabins are a little on the
- 4:46pricey side, but cool cabins. Very nice, very looks somewhat
- 4:49updated. So great location, like you
- 4:55said. I think you said to a couple of
- 4:56people that you'd want to stay in one of the cabins next year.
- 5:03Yeah, I mean, I think the cabins are nice because much like being
- 5:08at Attack, it's so much better if you can be like right in the
- 5:14venue or very close to the venue where you're staying, because
- 5:18that's where all the people are, that's where your friends are
- 5:19at, that's where you want to be at.
- 5:21That's the buzz. If you like energy and being
- 5:23around people like I do, you want to stick with it and be
- 5:26there. Like I would have stayed at that
- 5:27Salou way too long if I was. Yeah, that's the old.
- 5:31But I will say another cool part about the town is they have
- 5:34filmed a bunch of movies there. They had these like bulletin
- 5:37boards and I was looking at them and they filmed a ton of movies
- 5:40right there on the property. Oh yeah, I never stopped and
- 5:42read that bulletin. Yeah, they had two, then one
- 5:44about like the ownership of the property and then one about the
- 5:48the different movies they filmed there.
- 5:50So I thought that was really cool.
- 5:51It's a shoot I've heard about for a long time and just never
- 5:55had made it. You know, I've heard about this
- 5:57buckle series forever as well. It's been on my radar.
- 6:01I've shot the first stop three times, maybe 4-4, maybe I got
- 6:09second once and 1st twice. So three times.
- 6:12I've shot it three times and this year, the third year was
- 6:15the first time that, you know, competition obviously is a big
- 6:19part of our channels goals this year is to compete a lot and it
- 6:23made sense to, you know, commit to doing the Triple Crown, which
- 6:27has four stops and you get to drop one if you do all four.
- 6:31But if you do 3 and get a full slate of scores, we looked at
- 6:33the schedule and we can make 3 work this year.
- 6:36So we said, OK, let's do it. So we did.
- 6:39Yuma brought home first place, a total score four O 5, up 510
- 6:44points over second place. We were not able to make stop 2,
- 6:48but the winner got a four O 5 as well, same as I won with at stop
- 6:52one, but he had one less 12 than me, so I would win the
- 6:56tiebreaker. And then at stop three he was
- 7:00also there. And the guy who got second at
- 7:02both those first stops was there who was in our video, David.
- 7:06But this go around I won by 18 points.
- 7:11So I got a shot of 446 in second place shot A2.
- 7:16What would that be, 228? Yeah, 228, I'm sorry, 428.
- 7:21So 440-6428. So that means that essentially
- 7:26going do you get? A 428 from.
- 7:30That's what the guy in second got.
- 7:32Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, OK. Yeah.
- 7:33I thought you meant you. And I was like, what?
- 7:35You had a 4-5 first stop. You just said nevermind.
- 7:38Continue. So anyways, going into the last
- 7:41stop basically I'll have David is technically in the lead
- 7:46because he's done 3 stops. But if me and the guy Colt had
- 7:52the highest scores at round two and I've had the highest scores
- 7:55at round one and round 3. So basically I, I'm looking at
- 8:01it like I basically have an 18 point lead at the last stop,
- 8:03which I'd really comfortable with.
- 8:06And I felt like I just shot so well.
- 8:08And I mean, it goes to show that the indoor shooting, I mean, I
- 8:12have my 3 personal best right here, obviously getting
- 8:17progressively better Vegas bases.
- 8:21This outdoor tournament. I had not practiced 3 deal in
- 8:26like months, you know, and I just picked up the bow and went
- 8:29and shot and I mean it was like I couldn't miss a 12 or A10.
- 8:33It was I shot 3 eights the whole time.
- 8:35So if forty shots, I shot 3 eights, all the rest 10's and I
- 8:40only had, I think I had eleven 10's and then I had 2020.
- 8:46Six, they said. Yeah, 2612 and 142612 out of 40.
- 8:52So I mean, to me, it goes to show that shooting indoor really
- 8:58does help when you go shoot something different.
- 9:01And we were shooting at 50 yards, was our furthest shot was
- 9:0450 yards, angles and stuff. Yeah.
- 9:07So it's not to explain the course a little bit when we say
- 9:13it's like a buckle series and it's a competition.
- 9:16But if you're listening to this and you're an East Coaster,
- 9:19you're familiar with Asas, Ibos, things like that.
- 9:23It's not your clear pine tree lane, flat ground, nothing
- 9:28obstructing any portion of the target.
- 9:31Not the case with this Western buckle series.
- 9:35There are eagles, there are up and downs.
- 9:38They do play with the shade. There are quartered shots.
- 9:42There was a heavily quartered deer shot.
- 9:46There are there are obstructions in a sense, but not necessarily
- 9:51of your vitals, but. There was one that got a few
- 9:55people because there was a branch and it got it got a few
- 9:58people. Yeah, I know a couple people
- 10:00that got a zero or five on that. Yeah, just because you had to
- 10:04watch for it. So.
- 10:05And they should get a 446 on something that's essentially
- 10:10like what you could consider like one of the easy, easiest
- 10:13tack courses if you were to relate it to a style of a, of a
- 10:16shoot. It's like a tack course in a
- 10:18sense. But like pick one of the easier
- 10:21cattle courses, like a loophole course.
- 10:26That's, I mean, people don't do that.
- 10:32No. Yeah, You know, it's just, and
- 10:34now we were, I was talking about it actually with Ted when I went
- 10:37by to pick Taylor Tots up. That's the dog.
- 10:40Yeah, but he has a lot of names. But I was interested to think
- 10:46what in your opinion made the difference because that's a, a
- 10:52huge leap from stock 1 to stop 2 in your score.
- 10:59So like maybe breakdown cuz I know I have my thoughts, but
- 11:03breakdown your thoughts. Basically it goes between two
- 11:05things, both you or three things you, your setup and the courses
- 11:10themselves, you know and it can be a mixture of all of them, but
- 11:14which specifics of those you know of each one do you think
- 11:19essentially brought on such an increase in score from stop 1:00
- 11:26to 2:00 because go to go from a 405 to a 446 is a lot of points.
- 11:3241 points, yeah. Yeah, and a lot more 12.
- 11:36I mean, I had a lot of 12, the first one I had 17, so I mean.
- 11:39But 17 to 26 is still 9 more. Well, I mean, the biggest factor
- 11:44is that the courses were a lot easier at this one.
- 11:46That is the biggest, biggest factor.
- 11:49When you say easier, do you think it's because there were?
- 11:53I mean the first day the median distance was like 25 yards.
- 11:56So sure there was angles, there was you know, stuff like that
- 12:00and some some small targets, but it was like spot shooting, you
- 12:03know, the first day and you know, I went up 26 the first
- 12:07day, you know, so that was the main a big factor course
- 12:11easiness. Second day that I would say the
- 12:13course was comparable to the ones in Yuma and I actually shot
- 12:17only only 20, only 6 points worse the second day I shot a
- 12:21220, so I shot up 20 the second day on a course that I mean
- 12:24there was a lot of shots, 45 plus lot of good angles.
- 12:29The that was a tougher course so that so.
- 12:33That one. So one factor is the courses
- 12:36were a little bit easier and that's reflected in Colt score,
- 12:39David scores. We all scored higher, right.
- 12:42Everyone scored higher across the board.
- 12:43So that goes to show you the course was the courses were
- 12:46easier. So that's part part of it.
- 12:49Now the other things I think made a big difference for me is
- 12:52like I mentioned earlier, shooting so much indoor, I think
- 12:55has the really played a huge factor in it.
- 13:00That would be probably my second most important thing.
- 13:02Third would be the four power lens kit I thought was really
- 13:08good. I mean, especially when a lot of
- 13:10the shots were 30 yards or less, I mean I can actually I'll index
- 13:15and then when I pull up the scope, I can actually a lot of
- 13:18times see the 12, which is really helpful.
- 13:20So that was key. And then obviously I didn't have
- 13:24quiver this time, so I wasn't messing around last time that I
- 13:26had like a arrow falling out every once in awhile, like
- 13:29little distractions like that. So I think having the hip quiver
- 13:32was good, maybe a point or two for that.
- 13:37And then lastly was just I didn't have any streak where I
- 13:45was chasing the bow at all. It was good the whole time.
- 13:48And I think partly that's because the day before their
- 13:51contest, again, I hadn't been shooting the bow at all or
- 13:54outdoor at all or 3D at all. So luckily you and I did a
- 13:58little competition between two of us on the fun course and I
- 14:01did click it around a little bit that day.
- 14:03Not much, I mean, but a little bit.
- 14:05And I think that that was really important.
- 14:08You know, I think that probably gave me another six to eight
- 14:12points, just just that we shot that afternoon.
- 14:17Yeah. And then so I think, I think
- 14:19it's a culmination of things. But those would be all the
- 14:22things that come to mind for me that I think that led to such a
- 14:26such a crazy score. So when you say indoor helps,
- 14:33maybe just elaborate because I'm sure there are people who want
- 14:38to increase their score and maybe they don't shoot indoor or
- 14:43don't shoot it yet, but you know, to help them focus in on
- 14:49what things to be focused because maybe they don't want to
- 14:51shoot indoor, like they're not going to go join a league to
- 14:53shoot or whatnot, but they want to do it in order to help
- 14:58improve their outdoor because that's what they they focus on
- 15:01the loved outdoor 3D season. They do buckle series.
- 15:05They, you know, follow along and they say whatever, if they go to
- 15:10start doing, think of it as like a, you know, when you do a
- 15:14sport, you don't just like play the sport itself to practice.
- 15:19You do drills and you know, things like that, warm ups and
- 15:24whatnot. So if they go to start doing
- 15:28indoor as a way to do a drill, you know, essentially to get
- 15:31better at their sport of outdoor, what specific things
- 15:36would you say helped you that you brought from indoor to
- 15:42outdoor, even some consciously, you know, like you weren't
- 15:45consciously thinking about what I do this during indoor, but
- 15:48let's focus on it here and outdoorly, just the things that
- 15:51you noticed helped in indoor that translated into better at
- 15:57being an outdoor shooter. Yeah.
- 16:00So I would say a few things come to mind right off the bat on
- 16:05that. Firstly, I think in this is
- 16:07really important is when you're shooting indoor, it's kind of
- 16:12addicting because you're like, you know, let's say you shoot a
- 16:15290, a 299, you're like, I got to try it again now and it's one
- 16:19shot. I got to do another round.
- 16:21So you end up doing a lot of rounds because you really want
- 16:24to get your scores better. What whether you're shooting a
- 16:27285 or 295 or 299 or 327 X and it's like well shoot well I need
- 16:32three more X's for 30X, you know.
- 16:35So you're always like wanting to shoot more.
- 16:37Even today I shot 2 rounds that were not good and I was like
- 16:41should we shoot another one? And I was like no, I shouldn't
- 16:43be shooting today. I think that was enough just to
- 16:45move my body. But So what I think is the
- 16:46amount of reps is key. Number 2 is the bows heavier.
- 16:53So I think that when you go shoot a lighter bow with less
- 16:56magnification, sucker feels like it's so easy to shoot to me.
- 17:01That's another thing. And then #3 this I think is
- 17:03probably the most important factor is that you're at least
- 17:07me when I'm shooting indoor, I'm constantly trying to hit a dime,
- 17:10right? So I'm aiming at a dime every
- 17:12single time. So when you pull up at to a 31
- 17:15yard whitetail deer target in the 12 is that big that's bigger
- 17:22than the tent That's like the size of the 9 ring almost.
- 17:26So like you pull up your setup and it feels the same or maybe
- 17:29even better depend, you know, depending on what you got.
- 17:32It's like it feels like a layup. It feels like a shooting a beach
- 17:35vault. Whereas like if you're only ever
- 17:37shooting 3D and you come across a badger target, like that's a
- 17:42small little ring, we came across a frog and like the
- 17:45twelves like that. And I'm like signature that I
- 17:48shoot all the time. So it's like, you know, it
- 17:49doesn't make any. And imagine that frog is 6
- 17:51yards. Looking through your four power
- 17:53lens, it looked like this, you know, like, yeah.
- 17:55I mean, so I think that was really big.
- 17:58All all of those things I would say are the biggest factor.
- 18:01And with #1 being just that, you're aiming so small all the
- 18:06time. Yeah, and those are all things
- 18:10that are. They're not like conscious
- 18:14physical or like rhetorical rhetoric, things that you bring
- 18:20over to outdoor. They're I don't even know the
- 18:24word for it. You know, they're they're just
- 18:28like subconsciously, you know, drill why wise trained, you know
- 18:35that you brought then over. It's not like, you know, if you
- 18:37play baseball well, if I hit the baseball more times, I'll just
- 18:42be better at hitting the baseball.
- 18:43Well, yeah, sure. But maybe if I, you know, like
- 18:49when they put the weight on the baseball, you know, on the on
- 18:53the bat. Dancers do do.
- 18:55That with the balls, yeah. And then you take it off.
- 18:59It was something you did that just inadvertently improved your
- 19:06swing, you know, so you can't like, sit there and think about
- 19:11it, but you just are better because of it.
- 19:15Yeah, it was AI. Mean.
- 19:16And then one one other thing though, that you, you were you
- 19:19told a couple of people while you're out there that are more
- 19:22to rhetoric. Yeah, rhetoric.
- 19:23And you can explain it that you can bring over as a, you know,
- 19:27almost like you called them mantras.
- 19:30Yeah, I mean, it's like, you know, so when I shot that last
- 19:36personal best on March 17th in today's March 23rd, so not very
- 19:40long ago last week to shot that 327 XI really like honed in and
- 19:47I learned this phrase that I was saying every time and it really
- 19:49helped me shoot that score. And it was like, OK, if it's not
- 19:52AX, don't shoot it. And I would say every time I'd
- 19:55look at sit there, get my grip right, look at the dot and go,
- 19:58if it's not as well, don't shoot it.
- 20:00Come up. And and I did the same thing.
- 20:04Outdoor, so every time I pulled up to the target, regardless of
- 20:07the distance, anything, just it's not a 12, don't shoot the
- 20:10arrow. And I only let down once the
- 20:12whole weekend. I think no, maybe twice for
- 20:16sure. Once, maybe twice I let down all
- 20:17weekend. But my idea every time was if
- 20:20it's not a 12, don't shoot it. And I think that was really
- 20:24good. And today when I wouldn't
- 20:25practice indoor, I was struggling.
- 20:27I just was like, I don't know, my mind.
- 20:29I think I was like a little frustrated and maybe like a
- 20:31little grumpy and I was like forgetting the mantra sometimes
- 20:34and just like the bow wasn't sitting good.
- 20:36Like it just wasn't a great day, you know?
- 20:38And I was like, OK, but I got that done.
- 20:41So I think like maybe I'm learning.
- 20:42It's harder to transfer from outdoor back to indoor.
- 20:45It's much easier to go from indoor to outdoor.
- 20:47I think I've learned. But luckily, you know, I got
- 20:49today to practice. I got tomorrow and then you
- 20:53know, I'll be able to practice Thursday in Vegas and Friday, so
- 20:56I'll be fine. It's just not going to be a
- 20:58problem. But I am glad I went today.
- 21:00Learned that Bose timing on the indoor bows just like a little
- 21:04bit out, so we went over to Joey's used time lock, took
- 21:07about frigging 10 seconds and got it frigging perfect.
- 21:10Sorry, I was having some high misses today and is guaranteed.
- 21:14Just me. I was not feeling very good, but
- 21:15I shot at 296 and at 297, which is funny that that feels so
- 21:20terrible. I felt like I shot like shit and
- 21:22I I shot well. I used to shoot a lot of 290
- 21:25sixes before I went up to see Greg and Paige.
- 21:28Like I would show up to the range a lot of time to shoot
- 21:30like a 295 to 297. So I shot like how I used to
- 21:34shoot and I felt like absolute garbage, you know, and I didn't
- 21:37even shoot that bad. I would have been happy with
- 21:40that like a month or two ago, you know, so the progress has
- 21:43been really good. But back to the outdoor stuff.
- 21:46I mean, you're right. It's just, I think that aiming
- 21:50so small, having the mindset of like, I'm going to shoot a 12.
- 21:54I think the other part too is like my expectation when I'm
- 21:58shooting a Vegas space is I can't miss.
- 22:01I have to hand it every time. That's like my mindset, right?
- 22:04And I think in the past on 3DS, maybe you're a little more Willy
- 22:10nilly with it. Like you're like half it's a 5
- 22:13or an 8 like whatever, we'll see where I score at the end rather
- 22:16than being like no, I need to every 12 on the all of them, you
- 22:20know, and I think I obviously didn't quite do that.
- 22:23I mean I missed 14 twelves, but I hit 6.6 of them, you know, so
- 22:27I think that mine says really good.
- 22:30The ball was Jasper so good. I was literally tempted to be
- 22:34like, maybe I'll just switch last minute and just shoot this
- 22:36stuff that biggest because I think I might even shoot better
- 22:39with it. Like I'd have to go try it, but
- 22:41I, it's just like so good and I'm not going to do that.
- 22:45I'm going to shoot the reckoning.
- 22:46But like I, I literally am considering it.
- 22:49And I think in bow hunter, like if I shot indoor bow hunter,
- 22:53bro, I think I would be. So I think my scores would be
- 22:56like the same, you know, and they would score so high because
- 23:00it's just like I've practiced it more, but I want to stick with
- 23:02the target thing, really commit to the bow and just like learn
- 23:06that. And by next year, like, you
- 23:07know, I've only been practicing this indoor chef for like 2
- 23:10months. Seriously, you know what, what
- 23:13right when we left pages was when I actually started to shoot
- 23:16seriously and that was like February 15th and today is March
- 23:2123rd. So I've shot like a month and a
- 23:23five weeks I've been shooting. That's it.
- 23:26It's not very much. So you know, you think about
- 23:29like a whole nother year and learning my setup better, making
- 23:32a couple tweaks like I think it'll be way better.
- 23:34But as far as the outdoor bow goes, I mean, we were talking
- 23:38about switching to the V TAC20 threes before the shoot and I
- 23:43had them like they're almost built and ready, but I'm glad I
- 23:47did and this Boja shoots so good with the setup and the HL Rs
- 23:50like this setup is working and I'm not switching it for the
- 23:53next stop. I'm going to shoot it exactly
- 23:55how it is and next year I'll try the 23, try something different.
- 24:00But like it would be so dumb for me to switch it right now when
- 24:03it's hitting, you know it's worth everything.
- 24:05You know the proven 34. I got the podium Archer 10 inch
- 24:09bars V bars in the back. I got the podium Archer 27 inch
- 24:14bar in the front. By the way, you there on the
- 24:17website, bonussubs.com or if you want to get them off Josh
- 24:20website, you can say 10% if you use team BD at checkout.
- 24:23Same with Badlands gear, 20% team BD at checkout and then Bo
- 24:28disciples challenge for May 15 to 17.
- 24:31You guys should definitely come out to that.
- 24:33That's going to be a great, great time.
- 24:35And the courses are already, man, I have kind of mapped out
- 24:39two, 2 1/2 of them. And man, they're going to be
- 24:41good. They're going to be good, but
- 24:42they're going to be physical. So make sure you're in shape and
- 24:45bring a lot of water because some of these are really going
- 24:47to test people. I'm telling you that.
- 24:49But yeah, I don't know. I, I was just pleased with how I
- 24:55shot, you know? What?
- 24:57Well, on a separate note, I guess you know, I didn't shoot
- 24:59obviously for. You shot.
- 25:01Amazing score or anything. I did compete.
- 25:04Next year we plan to flip the coin and at least for this
- 25:08series alone, I will compete and you will film.
- 25:14I'm sure where you know, I think my goal for you is to get you in
- 25:19some ASA shoots. You know, we'll have to fly to
- 25:22them, but competitively wise, competition wise, you know, move
- 25:29beyond, you know, that buckle series to some ASA shoots for
- 25:35you. But for me, I want to do that
- 25:37buckle series next year. Good.
- 25:39So I was out there. I did the fun courses.
- 25:42We did fun course one on Friday afternoon.
- 25:45We did fun course 2 on Saturday afternoon.
- 25:48And though now I will say my score may have been a little
- 25:53different if I had felt more fatigue over time, but we're at
- 25:57that point again, where I am working on.
- 26:01I've had this bow since. So like, no, no, Did I happen
- 26:09for my September shoot? I did.
- 26:12I think that's the first shoot like Hunt, I brought that bow on
- 26:18running. I'll go back and look at the
- 26:20videos and try to figure out you can keep talking off.
- 26:22I'll let you know when it was. OK.
- 26:25I'll pull up the date of the video.
- 26:27Let's see here. Maybe do a little AB on that.
- 26:34Anyway, it doesn't really matter, but I was trying.
- 26:37To well, you want to know when you got it, so I'm.
- 26:39Yeah, I was just trying to think of how long I'd had the bow for,
- 26:42but I bought it with the intention of, you know, I was
- 26:48maxed out at £50 on the core Sr. and I with 24 1/2 inch drop.
- 26:57It's just it's it's clear as day I will not get any more speed
- 27:02out of the bow unless I increase the poundage.
- 27:06Seven months ago. Seven months ago.
- 27:08So yes, the glass. You can't offer your frog voice
- 27:11right now. I like my frog voice.
- 27:14August is when you got it, yeah. So I've been sitting with it
- 27:23just still, it's £60 limbs, but I've been sitting with them at
- 27:2750. Then we dropped down a little
- 27:29bit for the Arizona hunt and they was at like 47 and a half,
- 27:3548. And so it's just time to to work
- 27:39on increasing it. And I've been going to the gym
- 27:41five days a week for a few months now and it felt just you
- 27:48put it to whole tournament 365 and I could drop back.
- 27:52So then you put another one in, I could still drop back.
- 27:55So we finally got it to the point where it was funny because
- 28:01I think I'm a little bit in my head and by a little probably a
- 28:04lot in my head about it. Kind of like back when I did
- 28:07that with the Chorus R, for whatever reason, just like all
- 28:10the sudden like could no longer draw my bow.
- 28:12It's a weird mental thing I've been doing and I think I'm in a
- 28:16little bit of that right now with where it's at because when
- 28:19you put that final turn in before we left to go on the
- 28:22trip, I drew it back once was like, OK, Yep, I can get it
- 28:25back. It's it's firm again, but I
- 28:27could get it back. And then we got there and I just
- 28:32sort of do it now. My arm was pretty sore from
- 28:34shooting the day before, plus from back day, back bicep the
- 28:39day before we had left or two days before I think, I don't
- 28:43know. But so you drew for me the whole
- 28:47time. Now we I told you like try to
- 28:51draw as light as possible so you're not putting much of the
- 28:54work in. But a little bit goes a long
- 28:57way. So maybe my score would have
- 29:00looked a little bit different had I felt fatigue over time,
- 29:03but I didn't because I wasn't pulling it back completely
- 29:08myself the whole time. But it just, I told you a while
- 29:16back, I will not change. That's not it.
- 29:18That's the alliance. I thought you said they hadn't
- 29:23send you an alliance. You always get the two confused,
- 29:28the ascend and the OH. I do do that the.
- 29:31Alliance is a flagship. The ascend is like a it's not a
- 29:34bunch of bow, but it's it's like $1000 price point.
- 29:36Great bow. By the way, if you haven't
- 29:38checked, if your price point is like 1000 bucks, the ascend is a
- 29:41banger because it's got a form of deadlock.
- 29:45Lot of great tech, good tuning, 31 inch Axel to Axel.
- 29:50It's a good rig for a nice price.
- 29:52Yeah, I do get the the 2A names and you can mixing them up.
- 29:56But anyways, the virtue I just will not I will not change from
- 30:01it for unless the another bow comes out and I try it out from
- 30:05them and I'm like, oh, OK, this this is even better.
- 30:09I have zero reason to change from the virtue.
- 30:12It just is the most steady thing I've had in my hand.
- 30:16My pin movement is so minimal. So I know without a doubt, like
- 30:24anytime I do shoot, you know, in eight I'm like, that was me and
- 30:29I just know it. And but I was just I was on a
- 30:36heater all weekend. You were I.
- 30:39Shot. You shot very well.
- 30:41I was very impressed because we, you know, you shot 30 targets,
- 30:45215 target courses and you were really good on both.
- 30:48I mean, we did, you know, throw your bone with a few mulligans,
- 30:51but you shot really well. Two on day 2, none on day.
- 30:58What? Well, you had that one where
- 31:00your bell went off. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 31:02looped my Dang. That would have been a 0, so
- 31:05that was a mole. Yeah, I guess you could call it
- 31:07that. I'd be so crazy.
- 31:09I've literally had that thing for over a year now.
- 31:11Never done that before. And then did it three times this
- 31:15weekend where I looped that string around my my thumb
- 31:18button, pulled it back as I was drawing back like a like a
- 31:22hinge, you know, but not it acted as a hinge.
- 31:28It felt enough pressure and went off.
- 31:32But yeah, I think like the scores that I put up for having
- 31:36shot so little this past few months, I was not expecting to
- 31:44shoot like that. Now I will say there's a couple
- 31:47of girls in that buckle series that I shot with last year and
- 31:52they shot this year. I did not because I've been
- 31:54filming and their scores are, I hate to say for women, their
- 31:59scores are crazy, but like they are like there's not a a lot of
- 32:06when, at least in that series that I've shot with before.
- 32:09Now, that's not to say out there in the competitive world, you
- 32:12know, they probably get that all day long, but like usually
- 32:18there's no noticeable difference between the men's score and the
- 32:20women's score in the same category.
- 32:23Open or bow Hunter or whatever Tally is putting up a four O 5.
- 32:28Now it's not a 446, but there are plenty of men that put up a
- 32:33four O 5. There was no one near her score,
- 32:36you know, even for 2nd and 3rd place.
- 32:39So like, she did great. I don't even think that many men
- 32:45did a four O 5 like maybe yeah. We had a handful because there
- 32:48was 23 of them in the open category.
- 32:51Yeah, I mean, it was good. You shot really well.
- 32:54It was nice to get back out there.
- 32:55I always say sometimes a break from shooting goes a long ways.
- 32:59For a lot of times when he just put the bow down for a little
- 33:02while and pick it back up, I think a lot of times he gets
- 33:05better. I don't know why, but at least
- 33:07for me, that's been the case lately.
- 33:10I haven't been doing that. I've been shooting a lot, but
- 33:14you know, I mean after Vegas I was looking at the calendar, got
- 33:18a nine day little time off to edit videos and get tasks done
- 33:22before heading out to the last leg of the trip ground series,
- 33:28you know, before the weekend before Oklahoma tax.
- 33:31So I'll be good, get a little break, maybe set the boat down
- 33:33for a little while and then go shoot that and then do tax.
- 33:37So we got a lot of cool stuff on the horizon.
- 33:40Obviously, the main thing now is Vegas.
- 33:42I mean, it's right here, it's here, leaving in 2 days.
- 33:45The day this comes out, we'll be on the road to Vegas.
- 33:48So if you guys are there, I know I'm shooting at 2:30 on Friday.
- 33:52So if you all want to come watch, definitely come support.
- 33:57We're in the flight. Compound flights so come check
- 34:00that out 2:30 on Friday. I don't know the other dates yet
- 34:03but I'll post them on the social.
- 34:05So stay tuned to that and I'll be sure to post the times that
- 34:07way people can could come watch. Because I want it to be fun.
- 34:10That's the main thing. Obviously I want to do well,
- 34:13I've put a lot of work into it and I'm going to try my best to
- 34:16do put up a 900. But yeah, I also want to have a
- 34:20lot of fun. So for me that's really
- 34:22important. I don't want to do it just
- 34:24because like I want to do it because I think indoor is fun
- 34:27and beneficial. So I don't want to be there and
- 34:30be like, I can't talk to anybody or have any drinks in Vegas.
- 34:33Like, Nah, I don't want to do that.
- 34:35So like, I'm going to have fun, but I'm also trying my best, you
- 34:38know what I'm saying? So yeah, it's going to be good.
- 34:43They're going to give it a heck. Going to give it a heck for
- 34:46sure. So appreciate you guys
- 34:49listening. Five stars on Apple and Spotify.
- 34:51Subscribe to the Bow Disciples podcast channel right now on
- 34:54this YouTube video for me. If you're watching on YouTube
- 34:58and then I'm, I'm just going to say it, this is going to be
- 35:00really, really difficult, but our group is committing to it.
- 35:04Brianna's going to be my filmer in Vegas along with Ty Jordan.
- 35:08If you haven't checked out his content, he's got some good
- 35:10stuff, so go check them out. But we're going to be attempting
- 35:13to put out today's Monday when we're recording this.
- 35:16I'm going to put out the Yuma or Rumble in the Rocks video
- 35:20tomorrow on Tuesday is my goal. So that's going to come out
- 35:22Tuesday, Wednesday, the last Road to Vegas episode will drop
- 35:26and we'll leave for Vegas. Thursday we're going to try to
- 35:30put out a video from Vegas to practice and then daily videos
- 35:33Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Every single day when I get done
- 35:37competing, we're going to try to go bang out a video and put it
- 35:39up the same day. So if things go to plan, that
- 35:44will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
- 35:47Sunday. They'll be 6 days in a row.
- 35:48Videos on the main Bonus Angles channel plus this podcast on
- 35:51Wednesday. That is a tremendous amount of
- 35:54output and a lot of work that our group is putting in.
- 35:57So we would be elated if y'all would watch the videos five
- 36:01times. For us, just put them in the
- 36:03background and watch them several times because that'll
- 36:06really help us subscribe. Like the videos, comment them,
- 36:09like share them whenever, like really pump those videos because
- 36:13it would suck if we put in all that effort and they get like no
- 36:15views. That would not be good.
- 36:17So go support them and yeah, if you see us in Vegas, you won't
- 36:22see us for like an hour or two after competing because we're
- 36:24going to be in the room finishing those videos.
- 36:26But if you see me after that, I am down to crush a pomp, that's
- 36:31for sure. So I.
- 36:33Was only down to crush a couple that can look left.
- 36:36Oh, all right, see ya.
