- 0:02Speaker 1: College basketball fans, Welcome back to the College Ball Show.
- 0:07Speaker 1: He's Marshall, I'm Chris, and we're here to talk about
- 0:11Speaker 1: the Final four. Obviously, we will start by recapping the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Sweet sixteen and Elite eight games. It's kind of a
- 0:19Speaker 1: I mean, plenty of great games, but as the weekend
- 0:23Speaker 1: went on and once we got to Sunday, it did
- 0:27Speaker 1: seem that they turned into more one sided games. Maybe
- 0:31Speaker 1: it would start close, but then the winners really separated themselves.
- 0:37Speaker 1: We haven't had the cinderella stuff. Our biggest cinderella was
- 0:40Speaker 1: what a ten seed and they should have moved on
- 0:44Speaker 1: to the lead eight, but they dropped a game like
- 0:48Speaker 1: I said that they should have won to Texas Tech,
- 0:52Speaker 1: only for Texas seth to turn around and drop a
- 0:55Speaker 1: game that they probably should have won. But we are here.
- 0:59Speaker 1: It's been a long time since we've had all number
- 1:01Speaker 1: one seeds, so I get like the upsets and the
- 1:04Speaker 1: buzzer beaters and all the wild stuff that we've had
- 1:08Speaker 1: in this tournament didn't really happen this year. However, when
- 1:13Speaker 1: you look at a rematch between Auburn and Florida, when
- 1:17Speaker 1: you look at Duke in Houston, where we were just
- 1:19Speaker 1: talking before we hit record. We're starting to kind of
- 1:22Speaker 1: lean Duke in Houston, whoever wins that game may win
- 1:26Speaker 1: this chip. And you know, my buddy Marshall, their co host,
- 1:31Speaker 1: it's not easy for him to say in that being
- 1:33Speaker 1: a North Carolina fan, and he even thinks that might
- 1:36Speaker 1: be the case. But that's why we play the games.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And these are great matchups. Like I said, all number
- 1:42Speaker 1: one seeds track, I get it. But at the end
- 1:45Speaker 1: of the day, these are great FN matchups. So we'll
- 1:50Speaker 1: get into that. We're gonna preview and predict all that
- 1:52Speaker 1: good stuff. If this is your first time listening to
- 1:56Speaker 1: College Ball Show, Welcome. It's under the umbrella of for

- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and bring in my co hosts Marshall. Marshall,
- 3:18Speaker 1: how you doing, sir. You know, this season has been
- 3:22Speaker 1: a really fun season overall. As I mentioned, it kind
- 3:26Speaker 1: of kind of seemed as the weekend went on that
- 3:30Speaker 1: the games became less competitive. But in the end, whatever this,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you know, whatever this tournament produces, we're here now, and
- 3:40Speaker 1: yes they're all four one seeds, but these are some
- 3:43Speaker 1: great matchups.
- 3:45Speaker 2: At the end of the day, I will give myself
- 3:49Speaker 2: some credit. Good afternoon, Chris, and I will say that
- 3:52Speaker 2: at the start of the year, actually throughout the year,
- 3:55Speaker 2: we had the chat that there was about seven or
- 3:58Speaker 2: eight teams that I thought was like A level teams,
- 4:02Speaker 2: and then I had about twenty B level teams. Now
- 4:05Speaker 2: I did expect the tournament up until this point to
- 4:07Speaker 2: be a little better because I thought that those B
- 4:10Speaker 2: level teams would just produced more drama. And this wasn't
- 4:13Speaker 2: the most captivating March madness. But the top tier teams,
- 4:18Speaker 2: which we thought were the top tier throughout the year,
- 4:21Speaker 2: they showed and look at it. Now we got a
- 4:24Speaker 2: complete chot. I think only Vegas has a prop that
- 4:30Speaker 2: is something like, if you add up all the final
- 4:33Speaker 2: seeds to make the final four, will that number be
- 4:35Speaker 2: over under like twelve and a half. It's probably something
- 4:38Speaker 2: around there. Obviously, this year your number equals four. Now
- 4:44Speaker 2: I do think this personally is nil. Part of this
- 4:46Speaker 2: is the top dogs gonna be the top dogs nowadays.
- 4:48Speaker 2: But I still do think that normally, even with the
- 4:51Speaker 2: top teams becoming more of the top tier of the
- 4:53Speaker 2: power conferences, there still will be some luck in basketball
- 4:56Speaker 2: because that is part of the sport. I don't think
- 4:59Speaker 2: this will be as chalk heavy next year, just because
- 5:03Speaker 2: again sometimes he had three, sometimes make a free throw.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Who knows, like things could have happened. Michigan had a
- 5:08Speaker 2: deep run. They could have lost on a buzzer beater
- 5:10Speaker 2: in round one, but.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah, the game.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah. So now it will be like this all the time,
- 5:20Speaker 2: probably not quite this chock, but for this year, it's
- 5:22Speaker 2: what it is. But the teams who are there deserve
- 5:26Speaker 2: to be there. Whether you hate him or like the
- 5:29Speaker 2: four teams left remaining, it'd be really hard to argue that,
- 5:32Speaker 2: to say, hey, this team shouldn't be there, Like, dude,
- 5:35Speaker 2: what you know, I hate Duke, but like you know,
- 5:39Speaker 2: I mean, besides losing to Clemson, you know they they
- 5:42Speaker 2: haven't has I think that's really lost in the new
- 5:44Speaker 2: calendar years. So like you know, they they've had themselves
- 5:47Speaker 2: to help run. So we're here now again. As you said, Chris,
- 5:51Speaker 2: this past weekend could have been a little more enjoyable.
- 5:54Speaker 2: My fiance is actually giving me a shit. She's like,
- 5:58Speaker 2: you keep telling me we're gonna watch a lot of
- 5:59Speaker 2: good games, and they really have been that good. I'm like,
- 6:02Speaker 2: normally it is. I don't know what to tell you. You
- 6:05Speaker 2: are right, I have been giving you ps, but normally,
- 6:07Speaker 2: like I say, hey, this match up blocks cat, She's like,
- 6:10Speaker 2: you all watch something else? I'm like, uh, I'm running
- 6:13Speaker 2: out of words, So I don't know what to say for.
- 6:17Speaker 1: A twenty twenty like potential, you know what I mean?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah, as I guess, COVID really did take away what
- 6:25Speaker 2: was probably gonna be the best tournament we've had in
- 6:27Speaker 2: this decade. So damn COVID. But hey, uh, I guess yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 2: but we're here now. The the Ford Desserten teams were there.
- 6:36Speaker 2: That top tier of teams didn't didn't choke. They've had
- 6:40Speaker 2: their moments, I would say, really, besides, besides Duke, every
- 6:48Speaker 2: one of these teams has really had almost one of
- 6:50Speaker 2: those heart attack games. Not that I mean the Duke
- 6:52Speaker 2: Arizona game was good, but it wasn't quite as.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Dramatic as Houston Purdue or what for do Yeah, or
- 7:05Speaker 3: and even Auburn An.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I'm sure those Auburn fans had hard tech yesterday when
- 7:10Speaker 2: their boy broom had to walk out the port. Thankfully
- 7:13Speaker 2: he's healthy. He came back and busted The three said
- 7:15Speaker 2: our must be okay. But Duke is really the only
- 7:18Speaker 2: team that's made their fans have a pretty easy run.
- 7:21Speaker 2: You haven't had to grab your favorite bottle of whiskey
- 7:24Speaker 2: or you swear words inappropriately. You know, Duke's had a
- 7:28Speaker 2: pretty chill run, so everyone else though they've earned it.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But man, all those other ones Heeds they had those
- 7:34Speaker 2: moments were like, uh God, I guess is this where
- 7:37Speaker 2: the turn's gonna end? Which? And that makes it fun? Yes,
- 7:40Speaker 2: we have chalk at least these teams have had some
- 7:41Speaker 2: games where you had to enjoy. What was that Perdue
- 7:46Speaker 2: Houston game for example?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. I like to call it the Tigus
- 7:51Speaker 1: Enny moment in your Yes, you know, obviously Christian Latner,
- 7:57Speaker 1: you know that came you know in the Semis in
- 8:00Speaker 1: the final four against Kentucky, but or actually was that
- 8:03Speaker 1: the regional region? Regional? Yeah, regional, But you know there's
- 8:08Speaker 1: out generally speaking anyway, you tend to have one of
- 8:12Speaker 1: those games that you just got away with. But you're right, Duke.
- 8:16Speaker 1: You know, on paper, one thing that did hold was
- 8:20Speaker 1: Duke had the least I don't want to say easy,
- 8:22Speaker 1: but they had the least you know, difficult path and
- 8:26Speaker 1: they kind of proved right. You know, Maryland got off
- 8:31Speaker 1: to a decent start. We'll just jump in Thursday. Florida
- 8:35Speaker 1: pretty much handled them, though, eighty seven to seventy one.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Like you said, Duke put up one hundred on Arizona
- 8:41Speaker 1: Zona like stayed in the game, but like you said,
- 8:45Speaker 1: it never really felt like they were going to win
- 8:48Speaker 1: the game. I mean, Alabama on BYU it lived up
- 8:53Speaker 1: to the floor wise, but like scoring wise, that was crazy, right,
- 8:58Speaker 1: like one thirteen eighty eight, the total hit and all that.
- 9:01Speaker 1: But I mean good Gali sears like ten threes and
- 9:08Speaker 1: twenty five of fifty one for forty nine percent. They
- 9:11Speaker 1: set a record. Bama was going crazy in that game,
- 9:16Speaker 1: which we'll talk about the next round. That just really
- 9:19Speaker 1: shows you how good of a team Duke is. But
- 9:23Speaker 1: I did think by you, you know, they had a
- 9:26Speaker 1: great season obviously, as did Maryland end zone.
- 9:32Speaker 4: It was it was kind of up and down, but
- 9:33Speaker 4: they still had a damn good season to get this far.
- 9:35Speaker 1: But man like, you can't really grit by you.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Too much of that because you just ran into just
- 9:45Speaker 4: some shit that just happened.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Man Like, there's not much you can do about that.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And then the best really the best, uh one of
- 9:53Speaker 1: the best two games you mentioned it earlier with Houston
- 9:58Speaker 1: and Purdue, but that Texas Tech Arkansas, that Texas Tech
- 10:02Speaker 1: comeback you know that was special because you know, there
- 10:09Speaker 1: was a stat and I just looked at it. Thirty
- 10:12Speaker 1: five and oh when cal Perry is up by six
- 10:16Speaker 1: or more points at half, and I just got lucky.
- 10:21Speaker 1: You know, we've been talking about it, you know how
- 10:24Speaker 1: it's only happened once, and I think it was two
- 10:27Speaker 1: thousand and eight where all one seeds happened since they
- 10:31Speaker 1: expanded to sixty four. I guess, you know, sixty eight
- 10:34Speaker 1: or more technically, but that stat popped up and I
- 10:41Speaker 1: randomly he's like, you know what, I've been hearing stuff
- 10:44Speaker 1: that hasn't happened for a while. So I decided to
- 10:47Speaker 1: just make a bet on it with my buddy because
- 10:51Speaker 1: it was like on the College Ball Show, both basketball
- 10:54Speaker 1: and football, either myself or Marshall has brought these stats
- 10:58Speaker 1: where you're like, wow, this hasn't happened a long time,
- 11:01Speaker 1: or that's never happened, and at some point the back
- 11:04Speaker 1: end of that increases your odds that it's gonna happen.
- 11:08Speaker 1: So I just said, screw it, let's do it. But
- 11:10Speaker 1: sixty nine to fifty six, thirteen point lead before forty left,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and you know, you look at Davis what he did
- 11:24Speaker 1: in that game and just the overall length that you know,
- 11:27Speaker 1: Arkansas brought to be up like that with thirteen, you know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: four forty left up thirteen, it looked like he was
- 11:37Speaker 1: in the bank. And then you know, Arkansas missed some shots.
- 11:42Speaker 1: They didn't hit another shot until one twenty eight. It
- 11:45Speaker 1: was a three that still got him up seventy two
- 11:48Speaker 1: to sixty six. You know, for Texas Tech to finally
- 11:54Speaker 1: take the lead since like five to four or something
- 11:57Speaker 1: like that in overtime was just crazy when they made
- 12:01Speaker 1: that first bucket to get up seventy four to seventy two.
- 12:05Speaker 1: What a great game though, And as much as you know,
- 12:09Speaker 1: you feel for a team that you know is up
- 12:12Speaker 1: double digits with you know, less than five minutes left,
- 12:15Speaker 1: Arkansas had a great close to the year. It hurts
- 12:20Speaker 1: from Texas Tech. And we'll talk about that in the
- 12:23Speaker 1: next round here on Saturday. But that was by far
- 12:27Speaker 1: the best game of that of that Thursday slate. Just
- 12:32Speaker 1: just fun stuff, man.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yeah. The one thing I really regret for betting purposes
- 12:38Speaker 2: is I really should have bet that Florida would cover.
- 12:42Speaker 2: And I say that because, hey, Maryland might have had
- 12:44Speaker 2: the best starting five all year, but they only had five,
- 12:47Speaker 2: so you see that Maryland was down two and a
- 12:49Speaker 2: half and then they fell apart. I really kicked myself
- 12:52Speaker 2: when I've been that because that's predictable, like Florida is
- 12:54Speaker 2: a good team, but so is Maryland. But then to see, hey,
- 12:57Speaker 2: you're down to a half and he it was second
- 12:59Speaker 2: half by fourteen. You know, I was like, damn, I
- 13:00Speaker 2: should have should have seen that one Coleman, because we predicted.
- 13:04Speaker 2: We talked about Maryland quite a bit they had starting
- 13:06Speaker 2: five to no bench. I was like, damn, I missed that.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And uh tall the Duke fans who are still envious
- 13:13Speaker 2: and jealous of Caleb Love, I'm happy to you pissed
- 13:16Speaker 2: you off again because ESPN had the gusts to tweet this.
- 13:20Speaker 2: ESPN tweeted the South that Duke avenges Caleb Love's defeating
- 13:28Speaker 2: coach K's last game.
- 13:32Speaker 1: And beating a different team that they were supposed to beat.
- 13:35Speaker 1: That wasn't ESPN tweet And coach doesn't coach anymore.
- 13:41Speaker 2: So there's so much.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Now media wise that's ridiculous, dude.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So it just it makes you smile. As the Carolina
- 13:50Speaker 2: f and you all still hate the fact that we
- 13:51Speaker 2: knocked your got your guy out in the biggest game
- 13:54Speaker 2: in our rivalry history. Like, even if Caroline never beats
- 13:56Speaker 2: you for the next twenty years, we still got the
- 13:58Speaker 2: final for one on you you know.
- 14:02Speaker 1: A long time my friend. But yeah, that was bullshit.
- 14:06Speaker 2: But how do you you can't avantage at Carolina win
- 14:10Speaker 2: for Coach K when Caleb Love was playing for Arizona
- 14:15Speaker 2: and Caleb Love was the high scoring player in the
- 14:17Speaker 2: Duke Arizona game, So you didn't even have a bad game.
- 14:21Speaker 2: But I digress, and then you know they now Duke.
- 14:24Speaker 2: The Duke University had to send out an email because
- 14:29Speaker 2: there's there was a scene in the New White Lotus
- 14:31Speaker 2: season on HBO where a guy was like having like
- 14:34Speaker 2: a dream about committe and suicide and he had Duke
- 14:36Speaker 2: code on. They're like, they we didn't give the permission
- 14:38Speaker 2: to wear our university's hoodie and this portrays them bad way.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It's like, man, Duke fans has always been plaining about something.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I'll say that it's never easy to be a do fan.
- 14:46Speaker 2: There's always something going on. But anyways, the funny part
- 14:51Speaker 2: about that, Chris is the fact that I was laughing
- 14:53Speaker 2: about Coach K and Caleb Love I love that man,
- 14:56Speaker 2: but I can't really take shots to Cooper flag the
- 14:58Speaker 2: dude he's got just I hope I can't let my
- 15:03Speaker 2: friends know what I'm saying this, But the dude's got
- 15:06Speaker 2: a nice, nice three point shot, I will say when
- 15:11Speaker 2: he when he does decide to drive for the ring,
- 15:12Speaker 2: he just you can tell he's kind of He has
- 15:15Speaker 2: that fifth glass pick to his game. You know a
- 15:16Speaker 2: lot of guys in college who maybe you are like
- 15:19Speaker 2: good scores, don't have the physical part. He he doesn't
- 15:22Speaker 2: go up soft. He's got He makes his lamps when
- 15:24Speaker 2: he tries to attack, and that uh uh uh gotta
- 15:31Speaker 2: duck got uh their their center is good. Ohukpuk. Sorry,
- 15:36Speaker 2: I get that, Canimple and got it. I get the
- 15:39Speaker 2: man's confused, but canip I was actually I was making
- 15:46Speaker 2: fun of the dude because I don't think he's that good
- 15:48Speaker 2: for my basketball coach at at school. He's like, dude,
- 15:51Speaker 2: you don't like that knicle and like Canimple, whoever he had, No,
- 15:53Speaker 2: he ain't that good, you know, So I I've screwed
- 15:56Speaker 2: up all the days. I don't care, but Duke has
- 15:58Speaker 2: a good starting five. They they and he said they
- 16:01Speaker 2: got a little depth to so they hey, Arizona, man,
- 16:04Speaker 2: work for it. But now, as you said, to get
- 16:06Speaker 2: to the point of coach cal Man. And actually when
- 16:09Speaker 2: I speaking to my friend, his take was he thought
- 16:12Speaker 2: that with a couple of times there when Arkansas could
- 16:15Speaker 2: have won the game instead of drawn to play, kind
- 16:18Speaker 2: of like became that hero ball. Yeah, kind of like hey,
- 16:21Speaker 2: you know, it's say, hey, yeah, give the ball to
- 16:23Speaker 2: Wagner and see you can get the job done. And
- 16:25Speaker 2: not that that doesn't work all the time either, because
- 16:27Speaker 2: there are times in college basketball or even pro basketball,
- 16:30Speaker 2: say give your ball to your best player and let
- 16:32Speaker 2: him go. H Wagner had a little bit an off game.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You know, he only had thirteen points a day. Well
- 16:37Speaker 2: John L. Davis had thirty and knocks at twenty. But
- 16:41Speaker 2: that's one of those things where, hey, maybe in a
- 16:44Speaker 2: different game, Wagner does it the game when he's shot,
- 16:46Speaker 2: you know. But so, you know, do you drop a
- 16:51Speaker 2: play because sometimes you when you drop plays in college basketball,
- 16:54Speaker 2: then you know the defensive set and then they they
- 16:56Speaker 2: have time to react. Sometimes it's better to let your
- 16:58Speaker 2: players just go give it a shot, you know. So
- 17:00Speaker 2: you can always go back and forth on that but
- 17:02Speaker 2: obviously for a razorback fan, uh fan, base man, that
- 17:06Speaker 2: is a tough one. When you're up X amount of
- 17:08Speaker 2: points with ten minutes to go or four minutes to go,
- 17:11Speaker 2: you know, you expect them to pull that one home
- 17:13Speaker 2: and take it for a win. Uh. To give him credit, dude,
- 17:16Speaker 2: you were one in five in conference and you almost
- 17:20Speaker 2: made the Sweet sixteen. So the things you're looking up
- 17:23Speaker 2: for Arkansas, you know, cal Party, he started off the
- 17:25Speaker 2: year a little bit sluggish. Like I said, he in
- 17:27Speaker 2: his mind he had to get his guys in a
- 17:29Speaker 2: different mental wavelength, and he did that and went further
- 17:32Speaker 2: than most people expected they would for a team that
- 17:34Speaker 2: was one of the last like probably last ten in Uh. Yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 2: but you're right that that was you said. That was
- 17:40Speaker 2: probably the definitely the the best game of the past
- 17:44Speaker 2: four days, my friend, maybe the most entertaining. Though from
- 17:48Speaker 2: a over perspective, were just simply watching people, Chuck Man
- 17:54Speaker 2: and all a minute. I was wrong. I thought that
- 17:56Speaker 2: b Yu was gonna score a lot of points and
- 17:58Speaker 2: sold his ban, but I thought by it was just
- 18:00Speaker 2: a little more fundamental. H. Whether the fundamental or not,
- 18:05Speaker 2: you do well when you shoot fifty one threes and
- 18:09Speaker 2: you hit twenty five. Good luck being that team? Holy shit?
- 18:13Speaker 2: What what attract me?
- 18:15Speaker 1: Like, it doesn't matter if the NBA, if it's h
- 18:19Speaker 1: Olympic basketball, you know whatever. Whenever that happens, you're done.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah. I think in the first minute of the game
- 18:27Speaker 2: it was like three to zero. It's like for the
- 18:30Speaker 2: first ninety seconds it was kind of slow, and after
- 18:33Speaker 2: that it was just you shoot three, you will shoot three.
- 18:36Speaker 2: You get end one, we'll get end one. You make layup,
- 18:37Speaker 2: I'll make a layup. That was fun. That wasn't as
- 18:40Speaker 2: good of a game as Arkansas Texas Tech from a
- 18:42Speaker 2: pure standpoint, absolutely not. But if you just enjoy watching
- 18:45Speaker 2: guys just run up in bus threes, that was your
- 18:47Speaker 2: game to watch. I mean, the YU dropped eighty eight points,
- 18:52Speaker 2: which is remarkable, and they had nowhere of a chance
- 18:55Speaker 2: to win that game, and it's like they weren't trying,
- 18:57Speaker 2: Like BYU's defense. I'm not saying to lead, but it's
- 19:00Speaker 2: not like complete garbage and trash, Like they're not like
- 19:03Speaker 2: out of the top one hundred. But Bama was on
- 19:07Speaker 2: a heater that night. They scored fifty one the first half.
- 19:10Speaker 2: They dropped the sixty two piece in the second half
- 19:13Speaker 2: of twenty five threes, so there.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Was lots of crazy. Man, you put up fifty one
- 19:17Speaker 1: in the first half. You're like, you know what, I
- 19:18Speaker 1: think we're gonna go more thin, gret You're gonna do
- 19:20Speaker 1: a little bit more.
- 19:22Speaker 2: But will we see Bama back here next year? Because
- 19:25Speaker 2: their coach is dipping out reports They says he does
- 19:27Speaker 2: like dealing with all the nil dramas. So Natos is
- 19:31Speaker 2: apparently going to be heading to Maryland because the nil
- 19:34Speaker 2: dramas bother him and dude's gonna say goodbye to tuscal Lousa.
- 19:37Speaker 2: So will they change your style? Who might be the
- 19:39Speaker 2: next coach in Bama? Who knows? But I did see
- 19:41Speaker 2: that tweet today gained by ESPN. They've they've let the
- 19:44Speaker 2: duke drama go from coach k But hey, that dude's
- 19:47Speaker 2: a hell of a coach. If you're Maryland and he
- 19:49Speaker 2: goes there, that's a great addition for a team that
- 19:53Speaker 2: had a good run. Maybe the Maryland's gonna be a
- 19:55Speaker 2: little more uptemple up beat. We'll see, but that dude's
- 19:58Speaker 2: for all we can tell. And Bamy, you did a
- 20:00Speaker 2: hell of a job there. So if you're a Maryland
- 20:02Speaker 2: fan base, you're bringing in a pretty good guy.
- 20:05Speaker 1: That's crazy because first of all, we know Bama's a
- 20:10Speaker 1: football school, but lately basketball has been on the fire.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Of course, yes, and they bring in you know, athletic
- 20:18Speaker 1: department wise, obviously they bring it. Yeah, they have more overhead,
- 20:23Speaker 1: but they bring in more money than Maryland.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Obviously Maryland should be a basketball school.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Really, but if you're in the Big Ten, you know,
- 20:34Speaker 1: and you get that big ass you know payment, even
- 20:38Speaker 1: though I don't know if they get the full payment
- 20:40Speaker 1: because they were late in the game when it came
- 20:42Speaker 1: to going to the Big Ten. They've been in it
- 20:44Speaker 1: for a while now, but I don't think they get
- 20:45Speaker 1: the full payment. But either way, they better get their
- 20:50Speaker 1: NLI deals up to par than if they're bringing that
- 20:54Speaker 1: dude in. Because remember the former or what it sounds like,
- 20:58Speaker 1: the former coach. He's going to go to Nova, right, Yes, yes,
- 21:02Speaker 1: he was talking about how they couldn't stay an extra
- 21:04Speaker 1: night because of money and how it was a little
- 21:06Speaker 1: short changed. And yeah, that kind of surprised me, man,
- 21:10Speaker 1: But you're right, I mean, that's that's a great If
- 21:13Speaker 1: you're gonna have to lose a coach, that just got
- 21:15Speaker 1: you to the sweet sixteen to get him. That's impressive, man.
- 21:20Speaker 1: So that's because they were pretty mad at him speaking out.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I know the fans are pretty mad at that coach,
- 21:29Speaker 1: but you know, it is what it is. I'm sure
- 21:32Speaker 1: there might you know. The thing is, if you're great
- 21:34Speaker 1: at Maryland, there's a chance that you're gonna go to
- 21:37Speaker 1: a bigger program too, you know. So we'll see, We'll
- 21:41Speaker 1: see how that goes. Friday night, Michigan in Auburn and
- 21:45Speaker 1: Old Michigan State, they both got up forty nine to
- 21:49Speaker 1: thirty eight I think it was, or maybe it's forty
- 21:52Speaker 1: eight thirty nine.
- 21:53Speaker 4: They both got up in those games and they ended
- 21:57Speaker 4: up not winning those games.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Now, obviously, you know, either nine or eleven that's not
- 22:02Speaker 1: a death since, especially you know, with plenty of time left.
- 22:06Speaker 1: But the way Michigan was playing through about thirty minutes
- 22:11Speaker 1: of that game, I was like, whoa, this is not
- 22:13Speaker 1: the team that we saw down the stretch. But Auburn
- 22:17Speaker 1: got their shit together and ended up winning it comfortably,
- 22:22Speaker 1: whereas you know, Michigan State Old miss that was like
- 22:26Speaker 1: a street fight. I was talking to some and I
- 22:28Speaker 1: work with who, you know, big Michigan State guy, and
- 22:31Speaker 1: he's like, man, that was a street fight, man. And
- 22:34Speaker 1: but the thing is, if you're going to get into
- 22:36Speaker 1: a street fight, Michigan State is not a team he
- 22:38Speaker 1: necessarily want to go to the alley with because you know,
- 22:42Speaker 1: they're known for taking it, you know, taking it out
- 22:45Speaker 1: in the alley. But seventy three to seventy got the
- 22:48Speaker 1: job done. Tennessee from the start just swarm Kentucky. They
- 22:53Speaker 1: couldn't really do much to hold them to sixty five,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and then to put up the points they I was
- 23:00Speaker 1: very impressed with that. And then that Purdue Houston game. Man,
- 23:06Speaker 1: I mean, it was looking like Purdue was gonna pull
- 23:10Speaker 1: away it really, I mean it looked like it. They
- 23:13Speaker 1: were up by ten, they were up by ten. He
- 23:15Speaker 1: that point guard for Purdue had so many assists. It
- 23:19Speaker 1: just it wasn't looking good though. I got to admit,
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know, it was like, wow, this is not going
- 23:26Speaker 1: good for them. It was fifty six to forty six
- 23:29Speaker 1: with a little under eight to play with it. Uzan
- 23:33Speaker 1: Uzan was going crazy with a with a little under
- 23:37Speaker 1: eight minutes left on a ten point lead. He was
- 23:40Speaker 1: six to nine from three and the rest of the
- 23:43Speaker 1: team was two of eleven, so he was really doing,
- 23:47Speaker 1: you know, doing some damage there. But Purdue gotta give
- 23:52Speaker 1: him credit. Man, they stayed in that game that Braden Smith.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Hopefully he comes back. They put up that you know,
- 24:00Speaker 1: the when it comes to points, assist and rebounds only
- 24:04Speaker 1: him and John Moran. We have this stat on there.
- 24:09Speaker 1: But I mean, you know, it looked like Houston was
- 24:13Speaker 1: gonna pull away in another credit per Due, you know,
- 24:16Speaker 1: got it down, tied it up, and they were.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Hitting big shot after big shot, getting good shots as well.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And then you know, the old Vet, the old wise
- 24:28Speaker 1: man Samson, you know, came up with a play and
- 24:32Speaker 1: they went to the big in the lane. The big
- 24:34Speaker 1: toss it right back and it's just like it was
- 24:37Speaker 1: a heads up play. But it's got to hurt to
- 24:40Speaker 1: give up what turned into basically a layup in the
- 24:43Speaker 1: last second.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Man, I agree, well, I'll start there and then I'll
- 24:48Speaker 2: wrap around the other ones. I actually yeah, I think
- 24:53Speaker 2: you gotta rip on Brad Smith a little bit though,
- 24:55Speaker 2: because people keep saying it's a great play. I don't.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I don't think Houston expected Braiden Smith to leave the
- 25:02Speaker 2: inbounder because that's one thing. One of my my, my
- 25:04Speaker 2: old basketball coach, uh when I had a couple of
- 25:07Speaker 2: years ago. She's like, the crazy you always gott to
- 25:09Speaker 2: look for the inbounder. I'm I'm based on our bound players.
- 25:11Speaker 2: They call him like blops. She's like, that's the player
- 25:15Speaker 2: people always forget about. And if you watch the replay,
- 25:18Speaker 2: Braiden Smith is guarding the inbounder and then he for
- 25:20Speaker 2: some reason like he does kind of like a double
- 25:22Speaker 2: thing and goes to like leave and goes to cover
- 25:25Speaker 2: a guy like on the opposite three point corner. So
- 25:29Speaker 2: and then there's it's it just opens up like Pandora's box.
- 25:33Speaker 2: So it's like, I don't, yes, they made a good play,
- 25:36Speaker 2: but like I think for the.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Play because he was open, not necessarily what they were
- 25:41Speaker 1: planning to do.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I really don't think Alvin Sampson drew it
- 25:45Speaker 2: up because you probably didn't think that Braden Smith would
- 25:46Speaker 2: leave him, especially with only like two point eight or
- 25:49Speaker 2: three point eight seconds left. It was kind of like,
- 25:51Speaker 2: oh nope, shit, dude, he's opening the ball. You know.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So that was just one of me one of those
- 25:56Speaker 2: just mental lapses because you can never you always you
- 26:01Speaker 2: never want to leave the inbound or open, and he
- 26:02Speaker 2: was wide open, and to his credit, he made the layup.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Because we've seen lots of shots for Pro Work College
- 26:07Speaker 2: where dudes sometimes when you're super wide open, it's easier.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Just kind of I know that obviously, you guys make
- 26:13Speaker 2: playups a thousand times every year in their life, but
- 26:16Speaker 2: you can you can chunk that one a little bit
- 26:17Speaker 2: because he was wide open. I will say the one
- 26:22Speaker 2: different thing about Houston this year Chris in the last
- 26:24Speaker 2: couple of years, and who knows, maybe they could have
- 26:27Speaker 2: won the title last year if Shed doesn't rolls ankle
- 26:29Speaker 2: and get hurt first duke, you never know, but man,
- 26:32Speaker 2: they can actually shoot the three ball this year. I
- 26:35Speaker 2: feel that in the past couple of years because he's
- 26:37Speaker 2: had a good ass team. I think he has the
- 26:38Speaker 2: most wins in the past four years across the whole
- 26:40Speaker 2: country of D one basketball.
- 26:42Speaker 1: He's has score in general, whether it's three or not.
- 26:45Speaker 1: But you're right, all three guards can.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Shoot, like yeah, which they normally didn't have. They normally
- 26:51Speaker 2: they had one or two good guards, but the three
- 26:53Speaker 2: ball was kind of like, yeah, dude, a little bit
- 26:54Speaker 2: at Green Grind. I remember when I went to watch
- 26:56Speaker 2: him play at Memphis and AAC tournament a couple of years go.
- 27:00Speaker 2: It was like, dude, big dogs against big dogs, like
- 27:03Speaker 2: going down low. It's kind of like it's it's a
- 27:05Speaker 2: bar fight, like you were saying earlier about Sparky. But
- 27:07Speaker 2: this year, Houston they can obviously, you know, banging down low.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But dude, if you give them the open look, they
- 27:12Speaker 2: hit threes. And that's what makes them even more difficult
- 27:16Speaker 2: to guard because either physical beat it, are not going
- 27:20Speaker 2: to take a defensive series off and see they can
- 27:22Speaker 2: hit threes on you say, they really are a well
- 27:24Speaker 2: rounded teams. So that was a great comeback by Purdue
- 27:28Speaker 2: U just and then obviously they're last time they're that's
- 27:30Speaker 2: tough way to go out. But hey, if you're Houston,
- 27:34Speaker 2: hey you just you're battle tested, right, Yeah, I'm sure
- 27:36Speaker 2: there are still a lot all those guys who were
- 27:38Speaker 2: on the team last year. It was just one of
- 27:40Speaker 2: those motivational things like I was telling my my softball
- 27:43Speaker 2: girls state, you know, because we lost our arrival this week.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I was like, you know, Vilage, the games got to
- 27:47Speaker 2: motivate you to focus, and you see they happen so
- 27:50Speaker 2: many times Chris in college basketball, where a team expected
- 27:53Speaker 2: to be a national title contender who loses time in
- 27:57Speaker 2: a heartbreaking way the year prior goes on a deep run,
- 28:00Speaker 2: whether it was like the Virginia thing, are for the
- 28:01Speaker 2: sixteen seed or the Purdue you know, or it could
- 28:04Speaker 2: even be Uson like they had to be just heartbroken
- 28:06Speaker 2: last year from that injury to sheet. So you know,
- 28:09Speaker 2: for them to be in the final four of this year, now,
- 28:11Speaker 2: it's not surprising. And sometimes it does take that h
- 28:16Speaker 2: so close. Yet, dude, Hey, every day tap the sign
- 28:19Speaker 2: of the locker and says we're gonna get We're gonna
- 28:21Speaker 2: get our asses back there, like we we got unfinished
- 28:23Speaker 2: business kind of mindset. And I usually think that could
- 28:26Speaker 2: have been a motivational factor for Houston all year was dude,
- 28:30Speaker 2: we could have won it last year, didn't happen. Let's
- 28:32Speaker 2: do it this year, you know kind of thing. That's
- 28:35Speaker 2: the way that team's built. H Like you said, for Auburn,
- 28:39Speaker 2: they took care of business again, much like the night
- 28:43Speaker 2: before in Florida. Hey, you were only up to one
- 28:45Speaker 2: and a half time against Michigan, but then the second
- 28:48Speaker 2: half you beat them by twelve. For Michigan, man, what
- 28:51Speaker 2: a weird year. You start off, to make sense, super hot,
- 28:55Speaker 2: you go through a really cold funk where I bet
- 28:57Speaker 2: against you, they were in a huge downfall, and then
- 29:00Speaker 2: you win good games in the Big ten tournament and
- 29:02Speaker 2: then you and then you get hot again. Like so
- 29:06Speaker 2: it's like, what what was your team really like? You
- 29:09Speaker 2: were super hot, win close games, got cold, got hot again.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Great first year though for the coach.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you'd assume I don't know, I don't know
- 29:19Speaker 2: who's coming back or not. But if you got those
- 29:22Speaker 2: two bigs, then you get a little bit of guard
- 29:24Speaker 2: help with them. That could be a dangerous team.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And I'll for that eighteen to two run that killed them.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Uh started out as like maybe like an eight to
- 29:37Speaker 1: zero run and they got down by one, Auburn dead,
- 29:40Speaker 1: but it turned into after a three and they got
- 29:44Speaker 1: the lead fifty seven to fifty. It was an eighteen
- 29:46Speaker 1: to two run.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Man, Jesus, those are yeah, And I will say, man,
- 29:52Speaker 2: I was really impressed without Kentucky played in the opening
- 29:55Speaker 2: weekend of the tournament because I thought their defense was
- 29:57Speaker 2: locked in. They were, they were sharing the ball pretty well.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So for them to let Tennessee drop a forty three
- 30:02Speaker 2: piece sign, you get down fifteen early. Man like that
- 30:06Speaker 2: that just that box score threw me for a loop. Chris, Uh,
- 30:09Speaker 2: But you know they say that, well, it's hard to
- 30:11Speaker 2: beat beat a team three teams, or it's hard to
- 30:14Speaker 2: beat a team three times for one year. But I
- 30:16Speaker 2: did hear on that Vegas vs. Channel that a team
- 30:20Speaker 2: who's got two to zero versus team trying to go
- 30:21Speaker 2: three zero still wins like sixty five percent of the time.
- 30:24Speaker 2: So obviously, if you're good enough times you can beat
- 30:27Speaker 2: him three, you know. So it's not it, you know,
- 30:30Speaker 2: because that is one of those cliches. Well, they beat
- 30:32Speaker 2: us twice this year, but they can't beat a three times. Well,
- 30:34Speaker 2: in theory, you know, you're probably the better team if
- 30:37Speaker 2: you won the first two matchups, you know. And I
- 30:39Speaker 2: think I think they said that sixty two or sixty
- 30:42Speaker 2: three percent of the time, the team that won the
- 30:44Speaker 2: first two wins the third one. From moneyline standpoint, but hey,
- 30:48Speaker 2: it was Tennessee's day. They dropped forty three, they're up fifteen,
- 30:51Speaker 2: and obviously, with the way Tennessee plays defense, if you're
- 30:54Speaker 2: down fifteen to them, you're probab not coming back. So
- 30:57Speaker 2: kind of a little bit of a rough way. But
- 30:59Speaker 2: I'm sure Chris, if you you're a Kentucky fan, you
- 31:01Speaker 2: went a little deeper than you had with Cal in
- 31:03Speaker 2: the past couple of years anyways, So that'd be pretty
- 31:06Speaker 2: happy with Mark Pope. I think the guy seemed to
- 31:08Speaker 2: do a pretty good job there. Seems to be a
- 31:09Speaker 2: pretty likable guy. So if you're a Kentucky fan base,
- 31:12Speaker 2: I'm sure they always expect to say they want a
- 31:14Speaker 2: national title, but this was I think the furthest they've
- 31:16Speaker 2: been in five years, So that'd be probably pretty happy
- 31:19Speaker 2: that outcoming for Tennessee. Hey, it's also the furthest they've
- 31:22Speaker 2: made it in the past. Yeah, past half flur of
- 31:26Speaker 2: years two.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Yeah, legally, but yeah, no, yeah, I think you're right.
- 31:34Speaker 1: We'll see. You know, Kentucky at times that has a
- 31:39Speaker 1: little bit of the Ohio State football fan base going on,
- 31:43Speaker 1: you know where you're like, yeah, because it was a
- 31:46Speaker 1: decade like Cal Perry not only won a chip, but
- 31:49Speaker 1: he went to four four final fours in like nine years,
- 31:53Speaker 1: you know, so that's pretty good, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 31:57Speaker 1: but I understand that, you know, you have high expectations
- 32:00Speaker 1: and the difference is, you know, a house state just
- 32:06Speaker 1: to relate it. They were losing to the national champion,
- 32:10Speaker 1: you know, and they were going far and all that,
- 32:12Speaker 1: rather than Kentucky had fallen off. It's funny because as
- 32:16Speaker 1: soon as Cali PARTI listened to the fan base into
- 32:21Speaker 1: the media and be like, hey man, you gotta have
- 32:23Speaker 1: vets Bro then all of a sudden their teams didn't
- 32:26Speaker 1: do as good, you know, you know, at the end
- 32:28Speaker 1: of the season anyway, like in the tournament. Although during
- 32:33Speaker 1: the season you thought, oh man, they do have veterans
- 32:37Speaker 1: now and there was like two different teams that you
- 32:39Speaker 1: and I were really high on and and then but
- 32:44Speaker 1: yet they didn't go nearly as far, you know, and
- 32:47Speaker 1: they get beat early sometimes. So it is kind of funny.
- 32:50Speaker 1: When he was doing it his way, they were going now.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Granted a lot of times besides that that year where
- 32:57Speaker 1: they won it, and then they had that under feeded
- 33:00Speaker 1: season until the end. A lot of those times they
- 33:03Speaker 1: got better as the year went on and they peaked
- 33:05Speaker 1: at the right time, whereas they peaked in those other
- 33:09Speaker 1: the last five years. It seems like since basically what
- 33:12Speaker 1: twenty nineteen, I think they weren't peak. They were peaking
- 33:17Speaker 1: during the season and not at the right time. So yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 1: I think that, you know, he definitely gets how wild
- 33:27Speaker 1: it is there and how crazy their fan base is,
- 33:30Speaker 1: and you know, at times it could be crazy, like really, dude,
- 33:32Speaker 1: but at times it's crazy good though, you know. So
- 33:35Speaker 1: he embraces that, knowing what he signed up for and
- 33:40Speaker 1: you know, it is what it is moving a Saturday,
- 33:44Speaker 1: you know, coming off that display with Bama, he knew
- 33:49Speaker 1: they weren't going to make another twenty plus threes, but
- 33:53Speaker 1: to do what they did and put up all those
- 33:55Speaker 1: points really throughout the years and really these last few years,
- 34:00Speaker 1: they've been an offensive juggernaut. I mean that really puts
- 34:04Speaker 1: it in perspective of what Duke did to them. And
- 34:09Speaker 1: we saw Seers go off. He was having problems, you know.
- 34:15Speaker 1: It was it was a domination to hold that offensive
- 34:19Speaker 1: juggernaut to sixty five points and to be like, yeah,
- 34:22Speaker 1: we're still gonna put up eighty five though, and really
- 34:27Speaker 1: the star player didn't have a crazy game, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: that was that was really impressive to me. But obviously
- 34:34Speaker 1: here's another solid ass game, Texas Tech Florida. You know
- 34:41Speaker 1: that this was Florida had a little lead at half,
- 34:43Speaker 1: I think just by a few points. They started to
- 34:46Speaker 1: kind of looked like they were gonna start to put
- 34:49Speaker 1: some some points together early in that second half and
- 34:53Speaker 1: maybe stretch it to ten or whatever, but it just
- 34:55Speaker 1: they got open shots and all that, but they weren't
- 34:58Speaker 1: able to do it. And next thing, you know, Texas
- 35:01Speaker 1: Tech takes over the lead and they're cruising like it
- 35:05Speaker 1: not cruising like they took you know, they were way up,
- 35:08Speaker 1: but it was pretty much tied or close for quite
- 35:12Speaker 1: some time. And you know, to credit Florida, they hung
- 35:20Speaker 1: in there. I mean, it was let's see the ten
- 35:23Speaker 1: minute markets fifty nine to fifty five after a jumper
- 35:26Speaker 1: by Texas Tech, and they ended up stretching it to
- 35:31Speaker 1: ten points. And when it was sixty seven to fifty
- 35:36Speaker 1: seven after a dunk, I was like, wow, dude, like
- 35:39Speaker 1: and m man. Now, all of a sudden, you know,
- 35:42Speaker 1: Arkansas was looking like, Wow, maybe we're not as upset
- 35:47Speaker 1: as we thought we were, because this team, Holy crap,
- 35:49Speaker 1: this team's going off. And they even got up seventy
- 35:52Speaker 1: three to sixty four, seventy five, sixty six, still matching
- 35:57Speaker 1: buckets with you know a little over three minutes to play,
- 36:02Speaker 1: and then that was it. That Clayton Junior went off,
- 36:05Speaker 1: was hitting big, big shots and they made their free
- 36:09Speaker 1: throws down the stretch. I mean, wow, I was I
- 36:13Speaker 1: was surprised, but that Walton Clayton junior man, Holy cow,
- 36:17Speaker 1: he saved the day down the stretch. Uh.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Two things. One, this whole year I was talking about
- 36:24Speaker 2: teams I want to bet to win their region, and
- 36:26Speaker 2: the whole year I saw about Texas Tech. God, I'm
- 36:29Speaker 2: happy I didn't bet them to win their region. Is
- 36:31Speaker 2: I think they were like seven or eight to one.
- 36:33Speaker 2: I would have freaking slammed the shit out of something that.
- 36:36Speaker 1: That would have been a rough last four minutes.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Yes. But Two, I did bet them live during the
- 36:41Speaker 2: game plus three and a half and literally just I
- 36:44Speaker 2: bet I made the bed halftime because I was like, seriously,
- 36:47Speaker 2: like it would to kind of just be the better team.
- 36:49Speaker 2: And I know they were down three, but I was like,
- 36:51Speaker 2: you know, they're they're playing pretty good ball, and I
- 36:53Speaker 2: just Florida just to me, you know, I know they're down,
- 36:55Speaker 2: but anyway, that should be a safe bet. I think
- 36:57Speaker 2: they're gonna hang in there. And they literally covered the
- 37:01Speaker 2: plus three and a half until about there were thirty
- 37:04Speaker 2: seconds to go, when that Clayton did his He got
- 37:06Speaker 2: a rebound and dribbled the ball backwards, which is about
- 37:09Speaker 2: as unconventional as you can get, really, and.
- 37:11Speaker 1: He did that twice in the last three minutes.
- 37:15Speaker 2: And he dribbled the ball. He was probably five ft
- 37:18Speaker 2: from the who dribbled to the three point line, turned
- 37:20Speaker 2: around and chucked up a shot, which is very hard
- 37:22Speaker 2: to do as well, and busted it. So yeah, that
- 37:26Speaker 2: was man. If you're a Texas Tech fan, just like
- 37:28Speaker 2: Calipari had, it's up one to swallow. If you're a
- 37:30Speaker 2: Red Raiders fan, you gotta be just as frustrated as
- 37:33Speaker 2: Hawk's Nation was because that was the game. Y'all had one,
- 37:36Speaker 2: you're up ten. But again, I'm pretty sure they missed
- 37:40Speaker 2: the front end of a one and one when they
- 37:42Speaker 2: were up six, and I think also up six again.
- 37:44Speaker 2: But dude, he gotta make your free throws because of
- 37:47Speaker 2: course they missed those two front end of one in ones,
- 37:52Speaker 2: which is hard to say in a sentence, and Florida
- 37:55Speaker 2: goes down his shots. So or whether it's eight to
- 37:57Speaker 2: six or six and four, whatever your lead was, if
- 38:00Speaker 2: you make one or two of those free throws, now
- 38:02Speaker 2: it becomes a three possession. Gameste have a two possession
- 38:04Speaker 2: game with the amount of time they had left, you
- 38:06Speaker 2: probably win that game. Uh But as we've said every year,
- 38:10Speaker 2: you know college chock call what you want this year.
- 38:13Speaker 2: That's one part that never lies. Teams that make their
- 38:16Speaker 2: free throw is gonna normally win the games. And if
- 38:19Speaker 2: Texas Tech makes again, if they make two out of
- 38:21Speaker 2: four or even one out of four, they they probably
- 38:24Speaker 2: could have won, but they missed too many. Florida didn't.
- 38:28Speaker 2: And uh hey, if you're Florida, you had a heart attack.
- 38:32Speaker 2: With Yukon, you had a heart attack. To Texas Tech,
- 38:36Speaker 2: you're hanging on there, you really are. You're making your
- 38:38Speaker 2: fan base sweat quite a bit. But you're final ways
- 38:41Speaker 2: to win games. Not the prettiest. But at this point, Chris,
- 38:44Speaker 2: I guess it really doesn't matter. And I've I've said
- 38:50Speaker 2: too much nice duke stuff lately. Uh but Bamabama got
- 38:54Speaker 2: shut down. I'll try to avoid using the word duke.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Uh hey, Bama for a team that scored a buck
- 39:03Speaker 2: thirteen the previous two nights ago, Yes, uh hey, and
- 39:11Speaker 2: they they did try to play their game. They did
- 39:13Speaker 2: in the first half, the first half half moments for
- 39:16Speaker 2: it was close, ye, but Duke hit a couple of
- 39:19Speaker 2: They hit a couple of shots going into half to
- 39:21Speaker 2: make it like a six point lead went to an
- 39:23Speaker 2: eleven or nine or whatever. They kind of had a
- 39:25Speaker 2: little bit of swagger going into halftime, which was nice
- 39:27Speaker 2: for them. Uh and Bamma just couldn't He just couldn
- 39:32Speaker 2: quite the rhythm going. But to Duke's credit, Uh, they're
- 39:35Speaker 2: a really good defense. God, I hate saying good stuff
- 39:38Speaker 2: about them, but I to you for the show. Cooper
- 39:40Speaker 2: Flag is not the hateable guy like j. J. Riddick was,
- 39:44Speaker 2: or like Laighton or whoa Joe like or Kyle Singler.
- 39:48Speaker 2: There's something normally like the best Duke players are kind
- 39:50Speaker 2: of villains. Cooper Flag like, he's kind of just goes
- 39:54Speaker 2: out there and plays basketball. Like I'm never gonna become
- 39:57Speaker 2: a Duke fan ever, but on my list of the
- 40:00Speaker 2: Duke players that drive me crazy, he's pretty far down
- 40:02Speaker 2: the list because he kind of just stays to himself
- 40:05Speaker 2: and ain't taunting the crowds and talking masks. He just
- 40:07Speaker 2: kind of goes up there and plays basketball. So it's
- 40:10Speaker 2: kind of like Grant Hill, Yeah, yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Hill, because he was one of those guys that wasn't
- 40:16Speaker 1: hated for being a duke player, and once he got
- 40:20Speaker 1: out of Duke, nobody even gave a shit about that.
- 40:22Speaker 2: You know, yeah, yeah, so but hey, this team plays defense.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Because they did it, bamb would score more than sixty five,
- 40:29Speaker 2: So halfs off to them. They put on a hell
- 40:30Speaker 2: of a show. And obviously they did their SKYT report. Dude,
- 40:33Speaker 2: they dropped a buck thirteen. Oh we'll hold them sixty five? Like,
- 40:37Speaker 2: wait what? And normally in college basketball you always score
- 40:40Speaker 2: in theory, you always score more points in the second
- 40:42Speaker 2: half in the first half. They scored twenty eight points
- 40:44Speaker 2: in the second half of that game with their season
- 40:46Speaker 2: on the line. So that's that. That is a nice
- 40:50Speaker 2: job done by that school. I will not name anymore
- 40:52Speaker 2: because I've said more nice stuff about them in the
- 40:54Speaker 2: past weeks. I've said in the last seven years of
- 40:56Speaker 2: this show, so I need to put myself in checksure.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say since the beginning of this show,
- 41:02Speaker 1: even longer than seven years. Let's go to Sunday, and
- 41:08Speaker 1: it was kind of a little scrap going on with
- 41:10Speaker 1: Michigan State at Auburn. Early not much happening, but by
- 41:14Speaker 1: the twelve minute mark, of that first half, Auburn went
- 41:19Speaker 1: on a twelve oher run in Michigan State, you know,
- 41:24Speaker 1: kept it within like nine points. They were only shooting
- 41:27Speaker 1: twenty seven percent from the field compared to forty four
- 41:31Speaker 1: at half. Points in the paint was a big deal.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Bench points were a big deal, and Broom came through
- 41:39Speaker 1: twenty five points, fourteen boards, ten to thirteen shooting for
- 41:44Speaker 1: a big I think it was his third or fourth
- 41:47Speaker 1: double double. They are starting to look like the team
- 41:54Speaker 1: before the losing three out of four down the stretch.
- 42:00Speaker 1: It was impressive. I liked what I saw it was.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I mean, the two things that could have happened to
- 42:08Speaker 1: the big man though on that one fall where you saw,
- 42:12Speaker 1: you know, what appeared to be a knee or something
- 42:15Speaker 1: where it or an ankle or whatever. It looked like
- 42:19Speaker 1: it may have hyper extended. And then the elbow too,
- 42:22Speaker 1: and it turned out to be the elbow kind of
- 42:24Speaker 1: hurt more. But that hyper extended on one.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Play that could have really changed not just that game,
- 42:31Speaker 4: but the season moving forward.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Not to have you know, that caliber of player, but
- 42:39Speaker 1: I don't know, man, Auburn is starting to look That
- 42:42Speaker 1: was kind of their most complete effort. It kind of
- 42:46Speaker 1: got me thinking back to win. You know that before
- 42:50Speaker 1: that losing three out of four stretch where it looked
- 42:53Speaker 1: like resume wise, obviously you can't touch them, but for
- 43:00Speaker 1: so long they look it would look like them and
- 43:02Speaker 1: Duke were starting to separate till the end of the season.
- 43:04Speaker 1: But man, Michigan State battled, but they just didn't have
- 43:10Speaker 1: enough and he was just so productive, like just give
- 43:14Speaker 1: him the ball, whether he's going to pass it or
- 43:18Speaker 1: score it. It was solid. Man. They took care of
- 43:22Speaker 1: business and took out Izzo from a final four, which
- 43:26Speaker 1: you assume, you know, hate to say it, but this
- 43:30Speaker 1: might be his best chance.
- 43:34Speaker 2: You know, I don't know.
- 43:35Speaker 1: It's tough to say that because if you look at
- 43:38Speaker 1: the top four seeds, you could also say this is
- 43:41Speaker 1: probably the best four seeds we've had a long ass time.
- 43:43Speaker 1: So maybe it wasn't his best opportunity. But I did
- 43:47Speaker 1: want to see Iso make it to another final four
- 43:49Speaker 1: before he hangs it up. But credit to Auburn for
- 43:52Speaker 1: that win.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. I was really impressed with the way
- 43:58Speaker 2: they played defense because watch him. Probably I don't know
- 44:01Speaker 2: about seven or eight sparty games the second half of
- 44:04Speaker 2: the season. Uh, they moved the ball really well. They
- 44:07Speaker 2: only get open threes. Like their offense, they got nothing
- 44:11Speaker 2: easy like they that Jace Peterson or Richardson Peterson, like
- 44:16Speaker 2: they just they penetrate well, they drive well, they kick well.
- 44:20Speaker 2: They have kind of just like a well oil machine.
- 44:22Speaker 2: They're kind of an unselfish team. But in the first half,
- 44:26Speaker 2: like nothing came simple for them at all. Yeah, it
- 44:29Speaker 2: was like damn like Auburn, like your defenses, Wow, you
- 44:32Speaker 2: turned it up. And I know I've joked around this
- 44:35Speaker 2: year about how I think sometimes like Bruin is not
- 44:37Speaker 2: a good basketball player, because I did watch him play,
- 44:39Speaker 2: like when he had like four games where he looked
- 44:41Speaker 2: pretty bad.
- 44:42Speaker 1: But in the middle school layup, you were calling him.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Yep, yep, but hey, he shut me up.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you that.
- 44:52Speaker 2: He uh, he was untouchable. It was like, it's not
- 44:55Speaker 2: like there's no bigs in the Big Ten, like, but dude,
- 44:57Speaker 2: he was making Michigan State's bigs look bad. I will
- 45:03Speaker 2: make one note though, and speaking of my JV basketball girls,
- 45:08Speaker 2: like the one thing I'll say about Aubyn and scared
- 45:10Speaker 2: me was, man, I don't think Bruce Pearl's got over
- 45:14Speaker 2: a press break because even in my years Chris the
- 45:17Speaker 2: coaching girls basketball, the one thing you tell your kids
- 45:20Speaker 2: not to do you're trying to break the press is
- 45:21Speaker 2: you don't want to like run to the corner or
- 45:23Speaker 2: run where they just like hand you the ball. Like
- 45:27Speaker 2: when Sparty press at the end, Auburn literally almost ran
- 45:31Speaker 2: to the ball or ran to the corner. And that
- 45:34Speaker 2: game was a twelve point game which got down to
- 45:36Speaker 2: four because when when Sparty did a full court press,
- 45:40Speaker 2: Auburn was shook. I know they won.
- 45:42Speaker 1: I'm not changing that good point, though you're right about that.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Their press break was bad. Like so again I'm not
- 45:50Speaker 2: saying I don't know. I don't know what Florida's gonna do,
- 45:52Speaker 2: but if I'm Florida, I might watch a little bit
- 45:55Speaker 2: of film on that, because Auburn has great guards. That's
- 45:58Speaker 2: not deniable. But their press break was like, uh, dude,
- 46:02Speaker 2: you run over here, Okay, we go passing the ball.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Oh shit, I'm double uh. I mean they had like
- 46:08Speaker 2: three turnovers and they had two passes that should have turnovers,
- 46:11Speaker 2: So you almost had five turnovers in the last two minutes.
- 46:14Speaker 1: That is not good.
- 46:16Speaker 2: And obviously, if Florida watch that, I'd be like, okay, dude,
- 46:18Speaker 2: like maybe if Florida gets down early or something.
- 46:20Speaker 1: But I was just springing on him a couple of
- 46:23Speaker 1: times during the game.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Yeah, And obviously I know Bruce Pearls a much.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Better coach than yeah, and they're gonna have five days
- 46:28Speaker 1: now too, but still, yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 2: But that was definitely You're like, uh, they got to
- 46:34Speaker 2: work on that because that was scary. They almost tough
- 46:36Speaker 2: that game up. They were up too a little too big,
- 46:38Speaker 2: but that was not what you're supposed to do to
- 46:41Speaker 2: against the press breaks. That kind of just made me
- 46:43Speaker 2: shake my head a little bit. And for Houston, Matt
- 46:48Speaker 2: so I did. I did bet Tennessee like plus twelve
- 46:51Speaker 2: and a half.
- 46:51Speaker 1: So it more though because this you said plus twelve.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Twelve, twelve and a half, like fifteen minutes to go.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you. Because there's
- 47:02Speaker 1: so much Kentucky win. Dude. I was getting nervous being
- 47:07Speaker 1: that I picked Houston because Man, Tennessee looked good in
- 47:10Speaker 1: that game.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Well, and I'm so used to and even with Michigan
- 47:15Speaker 2: State Auburn, you know, even if you don't win, you
- 47:17Speaker 2: only have that comeback. Here's what really infin impressment of Houston. So, yeah,
- 47:22Speaker 2: I Tennessee was down fourteen points in like fifteen minutes ago,
- 47:25Speaker 2: and like, okay, you know, so I took Tennessee plus
- 47:28Speaker 2: twelve and a half. I was kinda surprising. Well, dude,
- 47:30Speaker 2: they're you know, Tennessee will for sure make a little
- 47:32Speaker 2: bit of a run just to keep it a little
- 47:34Speaker 2: bit closer, right, But.
- 47:36Speaker 1: They cut into like nine or something that was nine.
- 47:39Speaker 2: They missed a point blake layup, and then Houston just
- 47:42Speaker 2: came right back to them. But to give Houston credit there, dude,
- 47:47Speaker 2: they literally did not take a possession off. Every time
- 47:50Speaker 2: Tennessee made a bucket, Houston came back to said screen,
- 47:53Speaker 2: we're gonna bust the three on you. And every time
- 47:56Speaker 2: Tennessee did press and Houston had open three, they that
- 48:00Speaker 2: shit Like it it could have been easy for Houston to,
- 48:03Speaker 2: you know, take the front of the gas a little bit,
- 48:05Speaker 2: kind of like did vers Purdue. But dude, you won
- 48:07Speaker 2: by nineteen. Like there was no wayte of possessions. They
- 48:11Speaker 2: did not miss an open three. Like this team is
- 48:13Speaker 2: on a war path. And I know, like I'm being
- 48:15Speaker 2: biased that I probably want them to be duke, and
- 48:17Speaker 2: I'm more of a Houston guy than he and the
- 48:18Speaker 2: team has left for Mami. But so many times in basketball,
- 48:22Speaker 2: it's easy to take your front the gas when you're
- 48:24Speaker 2: up nineteen and let let the team come back in
- 48:26Speaker 2: the game. They really didn't, and that's rare to see.
- 48:30Speaker 2: So I just I really thought that was gonna be
- 48:34Speaker 2: a safe bet, and they won by nineteen. Instead, they're
- 48:37Speaker 2: up fourteen, they've finished by nineteen. So Kelvin Sampson's got
- 48:41Speaker 2: those boys focused. And like I said, they hit the
- 48:44Speaker 2: open threes. Tennessee did try to press, like Michigan stated Auburn,
- 48:49Speaker 2: but when you double team a guy and you leave
- 48:50Speaker 2: a guy wide open for three, they had at least
- 48:53Speaker 2: four threes where it was a double team, let to
- 48:55Speaker 2: an open. Do the open dude did miss, So hats
- 48:58Speaker 2: off to them. That was a really good win, especial
- 49:00Speaker 2: like you said, Chris, after Tennessee looks so dominant against
- 49:04Speaker 2: the Cats.
- 49:05Speaker 1: So dominant, I mean, I was like, Wow, this is
- 49:09Speaker 1: gonna be a hell of a matchup, man. I was.
- 49:12Speaker 1: I was, I was shaking in my boots a little bit,
- 49:16Speaker 1: and I have I took a future when when Houston
- 49:21Speaker 1: was uh plus six fifteen to win the chip.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Oh okay, so I was like, hold on now.
- 49:30Speaker 1: But in that game, like they it was fifteen to four.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Like it was a slow start. By the eleven thirty mark,
- 49:41Speaker 1: they had missed straight seven straight field goals, and it
- 49:44Speaker 1: was fifteen to four. And there was a moment near
- 49:49Speaker 1: the end of it that first half thirty four to
- 49:53Speaker 1: fifteen and at half thirty four to fifteen, I mean
- 49:57Speaker 1: thirty four to fifteen. We know Tennessee is not a
- 50:01Speaker 1: juggernaut when it comes to offense. And like you said,
- 50:03Speaker 1: Houston has improved their offense this year. Usually they are.
- 50:08Speaker 1: That would have been like a twenty twenty something game there,
- 50:11Speaker 1: and I mean the score not the year, but twenty
- 50:14Speaker 1: one percent from the field compared to forty two. And
- 50:18Speaker 1: you know, Houston wasn't even liking it up from three.
- 50:20Speaker 1: There were only three of ten. I don't know what
- 50:22Speaker 1: they finished, but one of fifteen. First of all, you're
- 50:25Speaker 1: taking fifteen shots from three, which isn't great. I think
- 50:29Speaker 1: they took eighteen total in the game before seventeen, so
- 50:34Speaker 1: that that was crazy. And that was the largest deficit
- 50:37Speaker 1: they had been down for the whole season. The bench
- 50:41Speaker 1: was coming in. Yeah, the bench was coming in for
- 50:44Speaker 1: Houston because you know, both their bigs got into little
- 50:47Speaker 1: fall problems. But that when you have solid biggs, one
- 50:52Speaker 1: that can score, and they're both good defensively. Obviously they
- 50:55Speaker 1: have the best defense. Them and Duke are the best defense.
- 50:58Speaker 1: And I think you could throw Auburn in there too.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Florida's no slouch, but Houston's to me the best defensive team.
- 51:05Speaker 1: But when you have three guards, it's starting to remind
- 51:09Speaker 1: me minorly of that Baylor team. And you know, Crier
- 51:13Speaker 1: was on that. L. J. Cryer was on that team
- 51:15Speaker 1: when they won the Chip three years ago, and I
- 51:18Speaker 1: remember saying they had like, what was it, six players
- 51:22Speaker 1: of thirty seven percent up from three or something like that.
- 51:25Speaker 1: But when you have three guys that can shoot forty
- 51:29Speaker 1: two or forty three percent from the three, they can
- 51:31Speaker 1: fall in like it doesn't really matter which one goes off.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Because you saw the game before. Cryer had a horrible game.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Yeah he had good assists, but overall he just couldn't
- 51:42Speaker 1: he couldn't knock him down. He hit a big shot
- 51:44Speaker 1: down the stretch of that game and Purdue, but he
- 51:46Speaker 1: had a rough game, and that was something else Man
- 51:52Speaker 1: and they didn't like to play that team, Marshall, that's
- 51:55Speaker 1: great at defense like Tennessee is too. To only have
- 52:00Speaker 1: they had their second turnover under ten minutes to play
- 52:04Speaker 1: in the game in their so it was like a
- 52:06Speaker 1: thirteen minute game stretch from their first turnover. I mean,
- 52:11Speaker 1: talk about having guards, you know what I mean? Like that,
- 52:16Speaker 1: that really that it seems like to me. I don't
- 52:20Speaker 1: want to jinx it, but it does seem like to
- 52:22Speaker 1: me that Houston is starting to peak at the right time.
- 52:26Speaker 1: And that's saying something because I mean they lost what
- 52:32Speaker 1: that one game in overtime or double overtime the Texas Texas, yep,
- 52:38Speaker 1: and then they just went nuts to rest the way
- 52:41Speaker 1: And yeah, that that really said something. So for the
- 52:47Speaker 1: first time, this is Evan Abrams on Twitter. For the
- 52:50Speaker 1: first time in history. The Favorites went twelve to o
- 52:56Speaker 1: in the Sweet sixteen and Elite eight, so well, the
- 53:00Speaker 1: Sweet sixteen Sweet or Elite eight faves parlay would have
- 53:05Speaker 1: been forty four to one odds if you you know,
- 53:09Speaker 1: if you combine it all obviously with the parlay, but overall,
- 53:12Speaker 1: Favorites have won fourteen straight tournament games outright and in
- 53:17Speaker 1: the round of sixty four through Elite eight, the Dogs
- 53:21Speaker 1: have won twelve total games. It's tied for the fewest
- 53:24Speaker 1: ever since you know, seventy five or whenever they changed it.
- 53:28Speaker 1: But here's something interesting about the Sweet sixteen Elite eight
- 53:32Speaker 1: from David Warlock. The average scoring margin in the second
- 53:37Speaker 1: round Sweet sixteen and Elite eight was ten points ten
- 53:40Speaker 1: point four, which is the lowest since twenty twelve. It
- 53:44Speaker 1: is the seventh lowest this century. So on one hand,
- 53:48Speaker 1: you go, huh, it looks like they're all blowouts, But
- 53:51Speaker 1: then we kind of forget about some of the blowouts
- 53:54Speaker 1: we get, and a lot of that is those seeds,
- 53:58Speaker 1: you know, those high seeds that just get off the court.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Just randomly after they pulled off that the crazy Cinderella
- 54:07Speaker 4: story type thing.
- 54:08Speaker 1: But Sampson now Calvin Sampson last six tourneys, six Sweet
- 54:12Speaker 1: sixteens in Elite eight and two final fours, Like I mean,
- 54:19Speaker 1: like he's made Threeswich sixteens. That's how far they went,
- 54:23Speaker 1: and then Elite eight now two final fours. But obviously
- 54:26Speaker 1: if she'd I still think they'd have. I picked them
- 54:30Speaker 1: last year, so I'm biased, but I still think they
- 54:33Speaker 1: win last year. If they had you know, their their
- 54:37Speaker 1: their number one player. But yeah, last year was that
- 54:40Speaker 1: all number one seeds made it as we kind of
- 54:42Speaker 1: progress to the preview in the final four in the
- 54:45Speaker 1: in the final game Kansas, Memphis, UCLA and UNC two
- 54:52Speaker 1: thousand and eight was the last time and only the
- 54:55Speaker 1: second time since they expanded the tournament that we had
- 54:58Speaker 1: all number one seeds.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Man, So.
- 55:02Speaker 1: You know, we got here. It hasn't been, you know,
- 55:06Speaker 1: a top five tournament of all time or anything like that.
- 55:10Speaker 1: There's been some damn good games. We've gotten some buzzer beaters,
- 55:14Speaker 1: but here we are man all one seeds, and like
- 55:20Speaker 1: I said, I know it takes some of the fun
- 55:23Speaker 1: out of it. But when you give all number one
- 55:26Speaker 1: seeds five days to rest practice and you know in
- 55:31Speaker 1: game plan, I have a hard time believing that we're
- 55:36Speaker 1: gonna have some kind of big blowout. For the last
- 55:39Speaker 1: three games. Let's start with Auburn and Florida, which we know,
- 55:45Speaker 1: you know, we know this was in Auburn and Florida
- 55:51Speaker 1: played one of their best you know, I think Auburn
- 55:54Speaker 1: had won fourteen in a row and Florida jumped out
- 55:58Speaker 1: on him. Crazy. Now, credit to Auburn for making it respectable.
- 56:02Speaker 1: Even at half you're down by ten. But the problem
- 56:05Speaker 1: was it was forty eight to thirty eight, down by ten,
- 56:09Speaker 1: so you gave up forty eight points. And credit to
- 56:12Speaker 1: Florida to keep the pressure going because they put up
- 56:15Speaker 1: forty two in the second half. Auburn put up forty three. So,
- 56:19Speaker 1: like I said, they made it respectable. But when you
- 56:22Speaker 1: look at the box score you watched that game, it
- 56:24Speaker 1: was the physicality. Uh, it was just the physical play
- 56:29Speaker 1: of Florida and they're multiple bigs. Obviously, we know they
- 56:33Speaker 1: got the guards and they're a deep, deep team. But Auburn,
- 56:38Speaker 1: you know, plenty deep as well. But there isn't a
- 56:41Speaker 1: huge difference, you know. I'd say the biggest difference was
- 56:47Speaker 1: the three point a little bit seven to thirteen, but
- 56:50Speaker 1: that's not crazy. Auburn shot forty three percent from the
- 56:55Speaker 1: field to forty eight for Florida, so that that's a difference.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Of course, the free throws though, fourteen of twenty three
- 57:05Speaker 1: for sixty one percent compared to fifteen and eighteen, so
- 57:09Speaker 1: Auburn had more a sense but didn't have more makes.
- 57:13Speaker 1: That's gonna have to tighten up as well. But it
- 57:16Speaker 1: just seemed like Florida had such a hot start. There
- 57:20Speaker 1: was really nothing that that they could do to get
- 57:25Speaker 1: back in that game. Like I said, they made it respectable,
- 57:28Speaker 1: but that's all they did. Otherwise, Florida really handled them. Man.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that was probably what I would say was maybe
- 57:37Speaker 2: the best win of the year. Yeah, because it was
- 57:40Speaker 2: overall yeah, overall yeah. Yeah, because it's super hard to
- 57:44Speaker 2: win on the road in college basketball, and Auburn had
- 57:47Speaker 2: a loss of home game all year Flota when they
- 57:49Speaker 2: were kind of waxed. I don't think that score ever
- 57:52Speaker 2: got under seven points in the second half, which again
- 57:55Speaker 2: is very impressive. So I do think that is worth considering.
- 58:02Speaker 2: But just to kind of contradict myself, I do think
- 58:07Speaker 2: that that is worth considering. But also I think that
- 58:10Speaker 2: Auburt's been playing better basketball in the tournament. Uh, they've
- 58:16Speaker 2: not had quite as many hiccups where Yukon easily could
- 58:19Speaker 2: have beat Florida.
- 58:21Speaker 1: But they had they had a legitimately the whole game.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Yeah. And also Florida this past weekend, it wasn't pretty
- 58:32Speaker 2: like you know that they won, but it's like man
- 58:34Speaker 2: if if if Walker, you know, if that dude doesn't
- 58:37Speaker 2: his like crazy step back threes. It's like, ah, you know,
- 58:41Speaker 2: I don't I saw, I don't know, they're I just
- 58:46Speaker 2: I don't know. I Florida went there and beat him,
- 58:48Speaker 2: so they're obviously they can do it again. But I
- 58:51Speaker 2: just think Auburn's had more of a groove lately. So
- 58:55Speaker 2: Vegas agrees with what happened in the regular season, though
- 58:57Speaker 2: they're they're giving Florida the two and a half point
- 58:59Speaker 2: favorite would obviously in basketball is not much cause that's
- 59:02Speaker 2: a three pointer here or there. With the over ender
- 59:05Speaker 2: of one sixty, it's SI expect to be kind of
- 59:06Speaker 2: a higher scoring game, which would be fun. Uh, But
- 59:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna take Auburn. I think they just have been
- 59:12Speaker 2: playing better ball. I think they got the more experienced
- 59:14Speaker 2: coach and I yeah, I'm just it's gonna be close,
- 59:18Speaker 2: but I'm taking man, and if they lose, I'm just
- 59:21Speaker 2: gonna be like, damn, I should We're with my gut
- 59:23Speaker 2: earlier from the the way they won, But yeah, I'm
- 59:25Speaker 2: gonna take the Tigers. I just think that they've been
- 59:27Speaker 2: playing a little bit better ball and the way Brew's playing, man,
- 59:32Speaker 2: if he Florida's got a lot of bigs, but like
- 59:36Speaker 2: they're they kind of I think they're more of almost
- 59:38Speaker 2: like a running gun kind of up temple team. Someone's
- 59:43Speaker 2: gonna have to answer to Broop because if he gets
- 59:44Speaker 2: down low and he kind of attacks it like he
- 59:47Speaker 2: did Verse, Sparty have to answer. And I will say
- 59:51Speaker 2: if if Auburn does have Feedbrew the ball, he Auburn's
- 59:55Speaker 2: got three point shooters as well. They got they got
- 59:58Speaker 2: guys in launching from So if you're gonna cover your
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: big you know he's gonna be able to kick it out.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: He needs to. I just I don't know. Yeah, I'm
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: just skinded. I'm not gonna beat myself anymore. But I'll
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: take the Tigers just because I think their momentum is
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: a little bit smoother of late Chris.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: You know, Auburn has played all of the Final four
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: teams and I heard that today on a podcast and
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I was wondering, when was the last time, and maybe
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: it was when like the Big East, the Big ten
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: or or somebody had three out of the four in
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: the Final four, whereas obviously we have two SEC teams
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: and ACC team in a Big twelve. But they've played
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: all three and they're one and two. Right, But I
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: think you know the one was obviously the one loss
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: was at home, and we just went over it. They
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: lost to Duke. I believe it was at Duke if
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I remember correctly.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: It's like a motivation little standpoint where obviously the the
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: other two are long or far away, and you can
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: even make an argument that that that Florida lost. It's
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: it's been quite a while now since that so and
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: it's almost like going through that hump of losing three
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: out of four. You know, we heard the stat that
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: no other team has ever won a championship if they've
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: finished the regular season losing three out of four, and
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: that's something to be said. But I'm with you. Like
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Florida's deep. I thought Michigan State and Florida were the
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: deepest teams, but Auburn's deep too, and they can bring
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: it that way, and so.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: I'm right there with you.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I do think that they've been they've kind of got
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: their stuff together. And when you have like the motivational
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: piece to say that you lost it, you know you
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: lost this team, so you can improve. And I like
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: those two bigs that they have for Florida, But I
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: do think they're just kind of, like you said, running gum,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: but they're kind of defensive, rebound type guys. They don't
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: bring a whole lot to the offensive side. They do
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: here and there, but overall, I think that if Brooming
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Company can get them into fall problems because you know,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: two games ago, it looked like that one of the
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: probably the best being was hurt with that ankle, and
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I thought, oh boy, if they're gonna lose him, that's
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: gonna be tough. But yeah, it looked pretty bad, but
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: it was nice to see him come back in that
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: game and overall finish the thing. And obviously we do
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: have to, like speaking of big an injury, we got
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: to make sure that elbows okay, because sure it did
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: look pretty bad and I'm sure he's gonna be sore,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: but you know, they they went right to the locker
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: room and extra race Extra Rayce came back negative, so
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: it wasn't really a full on hypertension. And you know,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: he has that shoulder from earlier where he partially dislocated it,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: so there is some worry there, but that's just that
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: dude's been so rock solid. So I'm right there with you.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna pick Auburn the fact that they went one
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: and two against these three teams, but two of them
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: were way early in the season. I think one was
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: like the second game of the season. So I just
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: think that, you know, the the more experienced coach, these players.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: A lot of these players for Auburn are not from
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: big schools. You know, they're from small schools. One dude's
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: a Juco, one dude's of d two Like, I just
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: think they've come together. They had the hardest schedule by
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say by a long shot, but they
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: really did. We know, Bama down the stretch was nuts
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: of the season, and I give respect, but Auburn overall
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: played the best schedule in the best league. And so
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm gonna go with Auburn. I'll let
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: you take over for Duke in Houston, my friend.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: All right, Well, I have said a lot of stuff
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: about the school from German to Positive Life for the
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: last couple of weeks, which I regret to say. And
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: if this goes viral, I will deny it all the
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: election ever happened. I'll pull a Republican thing, but I
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: will say, man, I can't go against Houston. I'd like
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: this team I think they are fun to watch. I
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: just I gotta go with the Cougars. I do think
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: that on paper, Duke probably has more NBA potential, but
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: I do think that Houston is a little bit more
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: of a just a slight edge of although I want
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: to say, Chris, I think Houston is a better defensive team,
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: but with what Duke just did against Bama, it's also
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: hater glasses on his side. Can I really say Houston
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: is a better defensive team when Duke just held Alabama
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: to eight points?
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Right? Man? I think the tightened up their offense too,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: because you know early in the season, you know, Cooper
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: in company that they they had. He actually faltered early
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: in the season down the stretch and clutch games for
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: the most part. But they've tightened up in every which
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: way since then.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I man, Defensively, I think both these teams
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: are eight plus. I'd give a slight atch to Houston.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: They just have a little more college basketball player experience. Yes, offensively,
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: I do think Houston. I think Houston shoots the three
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: ball better than Duke, but I do think there's a
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: team offense. Duke's probably a little more well rounded offs
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: with Cooper flag lead the way, I think this should
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: be a great game. The only thing else I'm gonna
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: pick Houston for sure, I can't pick Duke. The only
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: thing that does surprise me a little bit is Vegas,
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: because Vegas has this at five and a half. I
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: would have really thought Chris that this points for to
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: be similar to Florida and Auburn, be like three year
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: minds two and a half. But this tells and obviously
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: analytics aarting not everything, but this tells me Vegas thinks
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: this game is gonna be a bit more of a
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: stretch that we don't know about Houston. Like, I just
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: don't see what is it gonna take for this Houston
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: team to get like knocked out and lose by six
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: or say points. I don't see that happening. Could Duke
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: winn for sure, but is it gonna be more than
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: a two possession game? I don't see that happen, I think,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: and even if Houston was, I don't think Duke's gonna
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: fall apart. I think this is one of those like
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: last shot kind of wins the games. Let me take
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: you soon, I'll definitely take them with the points. I
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: just think this point spread is a bit high for
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: the resume both these teams have unless they think maybe
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: Duke's defense is too much for Houston. But man, Houston
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: shoots the three ball really well, so this should be
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: a badass fun game. I'll be sure in my ass
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: off for Houston. I do think they find a way
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: to pull it out. I do think there's a bit
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: of a bit of motivation extra for last year. I
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: think they definitely have the better coach in this game,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: you know, buyas a side. He's just more experienced. Mate.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: We'll see, of course, but Calvin Sampson's for sure has
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: got the experience edge. His player's got a little more
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: experienced uh veteraniss inside them. So I'll take the Cougars
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: plus the five and a half and the money line.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: I hope they get the job done. But shiit the
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: over unders one thirty six.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: And a half.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: That is low. That is super low. So man Vegas
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: thinks this is gonna be just a nasty little six
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: sixty seven, yes, sir, Yeah, so like.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: A big big ten challenge from the nineties.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Yeah, ah, man, I this this should be a fun one.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: I'm happy the second one too, so I can get
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: a nice little nice little buzz going for this one. Man,
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: But go Cougar's this should be a fun one, I think, man,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: I just think that guard play there there. Houston's guard
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: plays elevated this year. I know she is gone, but
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: they collectively, their guard plays really stepped up this year.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: So their ver slag. Man, that's gonna be a great
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: matchup for basketball.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Yeah, all three guards like it brings something different to
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: the table. And Crier is kind of more of the
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: point guard, but he can score and you know from three,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: he can get out the dribble. He does those runners
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: in the lane like it just and they it just
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: they make everything difficult, man, they really do. And you know,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: we talked about how Florida had a difficult stretch, but
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: it's I can't remember the stat, but they had to
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: play the highest seats. You know, they had to play
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: the eight Gonzaga, which Gonzaga down the stretch of the
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: season played a lot better. They had to play the four,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: they had to play the two, and now they got
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: to play the one. So actually I saw this stat
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: where it's like it usual, you know that usually doesn't happen,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: and so they I forgot how long it's been that's
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: my bad, but it's been a while since that's the
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: case where you had to play basically chock. So it
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: was debatable between who had the toughest one clearly how
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: it played out. Florida you know, clearly had a tough
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: run here, but you know that they did have to
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: play the highest seats possible in their region. So the
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: one thing about the improvement that Duke's made over the year,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: because they do have the young players, and there is
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: something to be said about those young players, like you
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: mentioned that this is usually when it catches up to
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: you and you know the length of Duke though that
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: the only thing that is kind of messing with me
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: is the length that they're going to have an advantage
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: on two of those three guards. I'd say at least Crier,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: but you know, Carr is a short guy anyway, you know,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: so it's not like he usually doesn't have the length
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: advantage per se and who's in you know, he probably
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I think he averages the most assist But like to
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: your point though, you know a forty two from the
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: field from three Crier Sharp is forty one and a
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: half and Huzan is forty four and a half. And
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: they have, you know, a guy that shoots thirty five
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: and thirty six as well and a bench player that
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: doesn't really shoot him much. So I'm not gonna put
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: up his stat like it needs something. But and they
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: just gotta solid Biggs. But there is something about that
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: three to four guards when you can bring in the
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: game man. You know, the length is gonna be tough.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: And the defense and offense combined with Duke has been phenomenal.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I know, the Ken Palm thing. They've been the best
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: offense in the last whatever years, but they also were
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: the those offensive stats all they although they've played some
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: good teams so far. Uh in the tournament. They they
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: had a good non conference like they always do because
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: they're due. But they did put up all those analytics
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: in a down pretty much one of the lowest accs
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: we've seen, so I think that has to play into it.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I am a little worried about that length, but I'm
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: with you. I'm gonna pick Houston to get it done.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: And I also agree with what you're saying about this
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: thing is gonna be a grind all the way down
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: to it, and it's just gonna be clutch play. Whether
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: it's clutch baskets, which I'm sure there'll be plenty, but
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: also free toes.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Yes, you're right, and yeah, because I mean normally, just
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: to put in perspective, if you're at a huge gambler,
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: like a normal pointspread for a college basketball game or
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: runers normally anywhere like one forty to one fifty, even
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: maybe like one thirty eight, but one thirty six is
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: super low, So that that's telling you, I think it's
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: gonna be like a sixty five to sixty eight or
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: that kind of scoring game, which is pretty low nowadays
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: for college sports or college basketball. Sorry, so hey, but
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: in five and a half, dude, you're man, that's I
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: can't wait. And like I said, it's the second one
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: of the night, so hopefully we'll see part of me.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: I'm kind of tempted to drive down there because you
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: can get in the door for three hundred bucks, but
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I gotta feel in the hotel would be just as much,
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: and that's kind of for our drive. I don't know,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: I might have to pull some straights. Who knows what's
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: gonna happen. I might I might have to go get
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: a Houston Couger T shirt and go go down there
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: and watch that game, my friend. But uh, to finish
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: our predictions since we did kind of what did you did?
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: You join me with Auburn? So yeah, we did. Yeah,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: we actually both have the same predictions, so we both
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: have Auburn versus Houston.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Even though in my bracket I do have Florida, my
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: my last bracket where I can actually win money, I
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: do have Florida, but I'm going against it and for
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: the show randomly because I picked it, you know, clearly
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: at the beginning of the tournament. So now that we're here,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: I do favor Auburn, and actually I had enough can
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: beat Houston too. By the way, early this year damn yeah.
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: A lot. Yeah in my bracket eyed Houston beating Saint John's. Yeah,
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: well so I got one. I got one out to
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: right hopefully potentially, I think that Houston has the guard
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: play to match uh Auburn. So I will pick the
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Houston Cougars to raise a banner this year, cut down
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: a net whatever Jim Nant's quote you want to use
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: this time of the year. So that will take the
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: Houston Cougars to win against Bruce Pearl for a national championship.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and that would be probably be a pretty low
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: scoring game as well. Anything with Houston's gonna be a
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: little bit of slower pace. But yeah, that'd be That'll
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: be a very funward watch Monday night. What is your
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: guts say if Auburn plays Houston, Well, Houston avenge their
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: lost rule, Auburn go too oh against the Cougars this year.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Well, you know they Auburn's won two against the final
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: four and this is the only win they got. Now
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: both of them are you know, well, the duke game
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: is tight, the other one wasn't really final story tricks you,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: but yeah, I'm with you. I'm gonna go Houston. I
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: think Francis, Tugler and Roberts, the fact that they got
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: three bigs in there along with the guards, I just
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: think they have enough to just contain. You're not gonna
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: you know, just just make them, you know, not shoot
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: like you know, ten of thirteen from the field, you know,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: like he did in this last game. Like, just make
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: them have to really work for it. And and the
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: thing about Auburn, which they've really locked in in the tournament,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: but the thing about Auburn is when when calls aren't
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: going their way, they do get a little distracted, especially
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: their two best players, and that could you know, I
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: could see if you could get them in the early
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: fall problems or maybe that elbow is not as good
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: as we think. I just it's hard to get away
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: from that veteran guard play. And they have enough bigs
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: to make it work. They have a scoring big, but
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: they also have three solid bigs that you can kind
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: of rotate in a sense. And then speaking of rotations,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: Houston's rotations are just crazy, man. I mean when you
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: see when they double up on a guard, it doesn't matter, man,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: they're gonna go. They're gonna the next guy's gonna find
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: the opening. Like they they rotate so well on defense,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: and they've been known for so long for defense, and
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: like you said, the fact that they could knock down shots,
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: whereas before they leave those shooters open. If you're playing Houston,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: not all of them, but you know, a pair amount
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: of them because they didn't score that well. So you know,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: in Samson, man, he's you know, he's been at it
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: for a long long time. Hey, par last too, No
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: no disrespect there, but I'm with you. I'm gonna go
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Houston cutting them down and hopefully my my future that
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: I put in you know, a few weeks ago that
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: plus six fifty uh paces off because you know, I
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: put it on my bookie because that was the best
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: odds I could get. And now, you know, for quite
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: some time now, they've been trying to, you know, offer
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: me more money just just to get their bet back,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: which I'm not doing obviously, but I could. I could
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: make like twenty eight dollars more than I put for
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: the bet now or thirty eight or something like that,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: but I'm not doing it. I'm not gonna I'm not
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: falling for it. I'm just gonna go for it because
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: it's not like I put a bunch. When you got
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: a plus six fifty, you don't got to put a
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: whole lot of money on it. But I'm gonna go
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: with the Houston Cougars, who's been knocking at the door,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: and I I truly believe they could have maybe won
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: it last year tough though against Yukon obviously that would
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: have been a tough one. But yeah, I'm gonna go
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: with the Cougars to win the chip.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Then on that note, hey we should have two. Hopefully
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: I can make the proved by out say it right,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: this time, we should have two great basketball games to
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: watch Saturday and a great nightcap on Monday. Hey, and
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: we'll be back next week to wrap up was a
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: very very fun college basketball season. And then we get
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: an NBA Playoffs. I know, if you've listened to us
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: for college basketball, and this year first year listening to us,
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: we do college football at college basketball. Then we do
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: an NBA Playoffs show.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: And yeah, there's a little break there, but we usually
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: our first episode is after the play in is established,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: and that's Saturday and Sunday. Usually everyone's played a game
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: by then, so we'll do it on a Monday with
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: one game played in every series. So there'll be a
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: little break, you know, but we'll be back on that
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Monday because we don't like to break it all down
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: before the playing's not done. Sorry to cut you off.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: No, Hey, you're right, yeah, because and then and the playoffs, man,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: there's always some type of drama something's going on. And
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: this year, Hey, the West as usual is log in
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: from like four to ten as usual in the East. Hey,
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: the Celtics stata one seat, So I'm cool with that,
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: all right. On that note, I might I might make
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: myself down I might drive myself down to San Antonio.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: We'll see. That's where I got engaged. I got a
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: special place that that's the I love that seat, so
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: we'll see. We'll make it happ I'll give my Duke
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: Sucks T shirt and throw that on and drive down there.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: So until next week, the boys are out having a
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: good night peace
