- 0:00He's coming and we're up to 3rd. So I think what he's doing is,
- 0:04is, is amazing. If he keeps doing what he's
- 0:06doing and keeping that win rate you, you've got to give him the
- 0:10job. They won like 100 million from
- 0:12him. He's had like half a good
- 0:13season. It's that's not even that good.
- 0:14It's like I don't want us to go anywhere near that kind of sign
- 0:17in. How are we, fellow Reds?
- 0:19And welcome to this bonus International Break episode with

- 0:39we're on all the socials. We'd love to connect with you
- 0:42and we want to make sure that you don't miss a thing.
- 0:45But Jazz no Man United games to talk about, but lots going on in
- 0:49the world of football. So we thought we'd jump on this
- 0:52one and do a bit of a international break special.
- 0:56But before we actually get into the the actual special topics,
- 1:01let's have a look at some of the stuff that went on in football
- 1:03since we last we last spoke. So from the top, no big
- 1:07surprise, but he got, you know, here's no more.
- 1:11Yeah, didn't see that come in. It really shocked me that one.
- 1:16What a surprise. Yeah, obviously.
- 1:20Obviously a bit of a shame with obviously their passive and his
- 1:22father and stuff as well. And yeah, obviously hope he's
- 1:25alright, but from a football point of view, bit of a
- 1:28disaster. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:30Like you do wonder what went through the heads.
- 1:35I get that kind of I get that having that type of manager to
- 1:38come in and try and save them basically like a bit Sean Dutch,
- 1:41so like that. But to get one in from a
- 1:43different countries never worked in Premier League.
- 1:44Just seemed like a really, really odd idea.
- 1:47I guess they were thinking, well, they're like geniuses if
- 1:49it works, but now they look like absolute idiots.
- 1:53And so yeah, yeah, odd, odd one like because there is managers
- 1:57out there in the Premier League, you know, which probably could
- 1:59have got more of a tune out of them.
- 2:01But from what I read, like the players didn't buy in from the
- 2:04start. You're stupid to bring him in
- 2:06before the Arsenal game anyway. Like just do the after that
- 2:09because it's a probably a lose, lose situation knowing that
- 2:15you're probably going to lose. And then you've got this in the
- 2:17United States, 0 balance. Just bad decisions really from
- 2:21the board. We still having them to go down.
- 2:25I think so, yeah. Like I was looking at the
- 2:27fixtures the other day and like, I just don't see them winning
- 2:33many of those games. And I kind of obviously trying
- 2:37to pick up like Forest and West Ham picking up the other result
- 2:39here and there so that they they have the least amount of
- 2:44momentum, their momentum dropping rather than going the
- 2:47other way. And I think the other teams have
- 2:48a bit more fight about them. So they have to make this
- 2:52appointment really quickly and the right one.
- 2:57And obviously we never get into who's rumoured, which is
- 3:01obviously deserving. But.
- 3:04You must be, I'm assuming he'll they'll do some sort of like 7
- 3:08game contract, keep him up. Then you get this one because we
- 3:11apparently we offered him money. We couldn't pay him enough
- 3:13right? So a couple of years back.
- 3:16So what are they like they can't give him like a three-year
- 3:19contract on crazy amounts of money if they're going to go
- 3:22down because then they're they're in League One before we
- 3:24know it. So like, yeah, it's I think
- 3:28deserving again, just shuts A risky appointment at this stage.
- 3:31I just think you need to get someone in temporary.
- 3:33I like I think I said last part like get Harriet, you'll
- 3:37probably do a decent job. Yeah, but it's just a risk all
- 3:42round because for deserving as well, obviously only a few games
- 3:44left. Obviously it really looks like
- 3:46they're going down. And so it's obviously a red that
- 3:49you probably more likely wants to see how the season ends,
- 3:53which makes more sense. But surely he's not going to
- 3:55come in now and try and you know, save the Daisy.
- 3:58I'll be bonkers. And also the time football he
- 4:01plays is like really high press, really energetic.
- 4:04And from what you've seen from these players, maybe they'll be
- 4:08different to Deserby, but like, they don't have that in them
- 4:12really. They don't scream that sort of
- 4:14type of play. So yeah, can it can he get can
- 4:18that you can instill in them in seven games?
- 4:22Probably not. So yeah, like I said, I think
- 4:23it's a risky 1. I think Zerdi is a great choice
- 4:27in the summer for them, but not in the championship.
- 4:33Yeah. I don't know what we're going
- 4:35to. Do I loved, I don't know if you
- 4:37heard it, but I loved Daish and talk sport as well.
- 4:39Basically saying that he got asked if he was going to you're
- 4:41supposed to be the next spurs manager on you and he's like,
- 4:43well, I'm sad having a Guinness next to you.
- 4:45So unlikely. That guy is so good.
- 4:48I just love I love his his ways. But yeah, more madness Spurs and
- 4:53I'm sure it'll carry on. But in terms of manager
- 4:57movements as well, another mad 1.
- 4:59You mentioned the 80 odd year old Harry Redknapp coming in and
- 5:03we thought it was a bit crazy but possible 78 year old Roy
- 5:06Hodgson who's back in the dugout at Bristol City.
- 5:09Yeah, I advise you up and coming mad, you young guy, Big Roy.
- 5:14Yeah, fair place for him. Like I think I read that he did
- 5:18he start there or he was there 50 years ago, something like
- 5:21that. And he's he's going to help them
- 5:25out. So yeah, it'll be interesting to
- 5:27see how he gets on. 78 years young though, it just doesn't
- 5:32feel like the the right age for a manager because he's such high
- 5:35pressure, isn't it? And he's obviously got so much
- 5:37experience, as would a Harry Redknapp.
- 5:38But it's just a mad one to be called in on a 7 year old with
- 5:42in theory all the managers out there that are probably looking
- 5:45for work. Yeah.
- 5:47Yeah, yeah. If you're a young, often career
- 5:48manager, you must be like but are you getting these dinosaurs
- 5:51out? I know, I know, it's, it's, it's
- 5:56football just feels extra bonkers at the minute.
- 5:58But I thought that was a noticeable story since we last
- 6:01met. And then moving away from
- 6:03managers. Something else to pick up on.
- 6:05MO Sala finally calling it a day at Liverpool.
- 6:10Very good. I don't know, I think you might
- 6:13be the prospect or something really.
- 6:17Yeah, I saw that. And then he obviously kicks
- 6:19kicked off all like the best Premier League players ever and
- 6:21all this kind of stuff. And I send you the the the meme
- 6:26or the the snippet from my name full of Gary Neville.
- 6:29But he put him in best Liverpool player ever, but somehow he's
- 6:33the second best Premier League player ever.
- 6:35And then Gary's like, how does that even make sense?
- 6:37He's not even the best Premier League Liverpool player ever.
- 6:39So yeah, it's it's really annoying.
- 6:42Obviously he's an amazing player.
- 6:44Like got to admit that he's been terrorizing us for the years.
- 6:47But like, recency bias is massive in football.
- 6:53So yeah, quality player. 100% agree.
- 6:56But yeah, he's he's not the best Premier League player ever.
- 7:00No, and we're both we're both biased.
- 7:04We're both biased, right. But when I see that as well,
- 7:06again, I'm not disputing the impact he's had and the player
- 7:09he's been. And obviously he's been
- 7:11unplayable at times, but so have so many other players who have
- 7:16done a lot more in the Premier League stats wise and trophy
- 7:19wise as well. So when Carrick has given it all
- 7:22this, what's he basing it on apart from his love for
- 7:25Liverpool? And you know, you know, people
- 7:27might say that me and you are doing it based on on United, but
- 7:30I can name probably 5 players ahead of Salah in that list to
- 7:33me in terms of what impact as well.
- 7:37Well as well. Yeah.
- 7:38Yeah, exactly that. You know, the likes of Onreen
- 7:40sharer, there's a massive it's a massive list.
- 7:44So to be so bold to say greatest ever and I've seen it in a few,
- 7:47few places. I think it's madness.
- 7:49But yeah, I think to be fair, they've had a mayor earlier on.
- 7:53They should have just sent you money away in the summer.
- 7:57I just gave a four. 100 KA week for a year.
- 7:59Wasn't it a four? 50 KA week for Oh yeah, like
- 8:03yeah. I assume that he's not.
- 8:05I assume that he's probably he's just leaving.
- 8:07They're not. They're not paying out his
- 8:09contract. I'd assume because it was like a
- 8:10three-year deal, wasn't it? He's given up as he's given.
- 8:14He's given it up in terms of his his second, second year.
- 8:18I think he's just kind of waived it.
- 8:19So he can, he can, he can move on.
- 8:21But yeah, like I say, being a player will not miss him.
- 8:25And I definitely think Liverpool have had had a bit of a mare in
- 8:29terms of how they've how they've handled it.
- 8:30All the news before we get into the into the meat of this World
- 8:35Cup stuff, obviously you're still buzzing with Scotland
- 8:37being there. England are there as always, but
- 8:40unfortunately Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and
- 8:44Wales crash out in the playoffs. Do you watch it?
- 8:46Yeah, I saw the the Wales game and some of the highlights and
- 8:52obviously disappointing for them and both ahead in the games and
- 8:55to go out on penalties and on both cases is is pretty jetting.
- 8:59And I know The Who was it Jacko like 86 minutes just like as you
- 9:05still as you still can do a fair play though.
- 9:09But yeah, so obviously you always want all the home nations
- 9:12to basically be at the World Cup if you can, because it's it may
- 9:16create a better atmosphere having that kind of bit of
- 9:18friendly bounce between the fans and things like that.
- 9:20And obviously when it's all in good, good-natured.
- 9:23And then you have a guy that again, I think they were two up
- 9:25and they can concede a late goal.
- 9:27And then I think when when you're the team that concedes
- 9:29late and then it goes to penalties, I think it's always
- 9:32hard for the for them to kind of kick back any like look back at
- 9:35the from nations one as well, like same sort of thing where
- 9:38they missed that penalty and then they went on to win all
- 9:41that kind of stuff. I think just effects it
- 9:44mentally. I think from the Northern
- 9:45Ireland center, they're always up against Italy.
- 9:47No, no, no market prime Italy, but I think they're always kind
- 9:53of second favourites to that one anyway.
- 9:55Yeah, I agree. I think there's obviously that
- 9:58rivalry there with the countries, but it'd be great to
- 10:00have all the nations there and actually watch the Republic of
- 10:02Ireland game. And they were so unlucky.
- 10:04But some of it was their own downfall as well because they
- 10:06were flying to begin with. And then he gave away stupid
- 10:09penalty with an unnecessary tug. And then from then just seemed
- 10:13to be nervous and just didn't look great.
- 10:15So shame, shame, shame, shame. But yeah, I'm excited for us
- 10:19that we're both there because it'll be some, it'll be good fun
- 10:22in summer, but shame they didn't make it.
- 10:25But yeah, it is what it is, isn't it?
- 10:27I did enjoy some of the footage from the Republic of Ireland
- 10:30fans in Prague as well. That looked like a lot of fun.
- 10:34Looked very good, very good, right.
- 10:37Turning our attention to United, just a couple of things before
- 10:40we get into the meat of it, as you said.
- 10:41So First off, a better news United are doing a four day
- 10:45training camp in Dublin 46. One more, one more, the
- 10:48training. Nice.
- 10:51Warm weather training Guinness and rain pretty much yeah.
- 10:56So I won't I won't mind the training camp in Dublin, but
- 10:59mine would be Guinness focused yeah but yeah, that'll be
- 11:04interesting about time away together as a team to hopefully
- 11:07set us up for a really good end to the seasons.
- 11:10Yeah good. And then the other, I guess
- 11:14significant update is about the, the update from Colette Roche
- 11:17about the, the stadium #1 being land assembly, the best possible
- 11:21position for the stadium. So it'll be interesting to see
- 11:24what that announcement is and exactly where it's going to be
- 11:27positioned and investment. That was obviously the the
- 11:30second point really this so hard to know that.
- 11:33And obviously a few people are a bit upset with obviously this
- 11:36private investment and what it might mean and and, you know,
- 11:38more debt and that kind of stuff put on the club.
- 11:41I can't pretend to know the insurance and outs of it.
- 11:43And it was very loosely kind of mentioned and how this is going
- 11:46to be funded. But, you know, I really hope we
- 11:49learn from the past and some of the decisions we've made.
- 11:52But yeah, that investment piece is a little bit worrying, isn't
- 11:54it? Yeah, I think in the NFL, they
- 11:58the clubs don't often own their own stadiums and then they rent
- 12:01it and then the company who owns the stadium or built the stadium
- 12:05makes all the revenue from like a big portion of tickets and all
- 12:08the food and stuff because they're so that's a worry for me
- 12:12if that's the the model we're going down.
- 12:15Like I know like what's the point of having billionaire
- 12:21owners if they don't use any of their money, like he's got 20
- 12:25billion or everybody's got are going to any also having their
- 12:27troubles. But it's like, I know it's easy
- 12:29to say that from here, but like you come in and say you're going
- 12:33to make a close investment, you're going to change the club
- 12:35and you again, like the Glazer, you're trying to use other
- 12:37people's money to do it. And you again, you're putting
- 12:39more debt on us if we do go down this route because the private
- 12:43equity route. And that's how it works.
- 12:44It's like people don't invest in private equity, not wanting your
- 12:48return. So how are you getting that
- 12:50return? It's going to be from naming
- 12:53rights, naming everything named seats like and then making all
- 12:58the revenue from the tickets. And I don't want that
- 13:00personally. I'd rather stay in Old Trafford
- 13:02and get where and have more debt settled in the club because
- 13:07what's the point of having 100,000 seats stadium if you're
- 13:09not making the money off those 100,000 seats.
- 13:13Yeah, it just feels it's all kind of crumbling from what it
- 13:18was promised at the start, doesn't it?
- 13:20Like just Blacklist coming in, obviously wanting to have a
- 13:23legacy, give us a new stadium, all this kind of stuff.
- 13:26And it just feels like just losing more and more trust in
- 13:30him and how he's kind of operating and what we're
- 13:32learning and a very kind of American model, as you say as
- 13:35well, so. Steven Harrison talking about
- 13:39the land that we need to build the new stadium we don't own
- 13:43yet. It's owned by Freightliners like
- 13:46that and they know we need it. So like apparently it's worth
- 13:51£550,000,000 but they're like well you need it so we'll it'll
- 13:55be 400 million and I will. And they don't need to sell it.
- 13:58So it's just like it's like when we were trying to sell the bomb
- 14:01squad. It's like everyone knows you
- 14:02want to get rid of them but no one wants to pay 50 billion for
- 14:06them. They want to spend 25,000,000 on
- 14:08Rashford. It's like it's the same sort of
- 14:09situation. Like why are we telling people
- 14:11everything before all the ducks are in a row?
- 14:13Like you didn't the United fan base wasn't expecting a new
- 14:18stadium straightaway or anything.
- 14:19So maybe go and buy the land first, get everything in order,
- 14:23figure out how you'd pay for it and then tell everyone because
- 14:25then everyone can see a plan. But they just look a bit like, I
- 14:29don't know, these billionaire business people seem to be a bit
- 14:33like doing a bit wrong. Like I obviously I'm not a
- 14:36billionaire, so I obviously I'm not nearly as smart as you're at
- 14:40click, but it just seems a bit of an odd way to be treating a
- 14:44fan base. It's not buying a company,
- 14:46you're buying it like a different sort of entity.
- 14:49It's the biggest club in the world.
- 14:50It's got the most followers. So everything, every little
- 14:53decision you make has millions and millions and millions of
- 14:56eyes on it. It's not like buying a new
- 14:57refinery and some people in the gas industry get annoyed.
- 15:01It's like 1 little thing you change as a massive fact on
- 15:05millions of people's lives. And I think, I can't believe
- 15:08they've not managed to figure that out yet.
- 15:10So it's really frustrating. Yeah, it's just all this mixed,
- 15:15mixed message you hear been coming out and confusion around
- 15:18exactly what's happening and you want to trust in these people
- 15:21and hope they've got the best interests of the the club at
- 15:23heart. But just more and more I'm I'm
- 15:25worried about that. But yeah, that was the update.
- 15:28The Third Point of the update as well was just I guess the the
- 15:31people coordination and who's going to be involved some more
- 15:34chat about Sebco and Andy Burnham and all those other
- 15:36people. But yeah, as you mentioned, it
- 15:38was a it was an update, but a very loose one to say yeah,
- 15:42things are happening. Yeah, just.
- 15:44Just six years later than you wanted.
- 15:47Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 15:48We're going to, but we have build a stadium that's befitting
- 15:52of our past but also fit for the future.
- 15:54Fair enough. 100,000 CEO. I think we knew about that.
- 15:57And as we've mentioned as well, you know the whole timeline
- 16:00around 4 to five years for construction and we've not named
- 16:03the date for opening, but we are on track.
- 16:06Interesting, interesting. So yeah, it should have been a
- 16:11significant update, but worth mentioning.
- 16:13But not lots to get into yet, but we'll keep our eye on that.
- 16:16But yeah, let's get into the the meat of why we we got together
- 16:20today. So I think international break
- 16:23no games to review our preview yet, but we thought we just have
- 16:27a little look towards what's looking like a massive summer
- 16:31summer for United are really, really big 1.
- 16:34I actually heard Goldbridge, I think he was saying that he
- 16:37thinks was an arsenal are the most ready to go for next
- 16:40season. And obviously we've made
- 16:41progress and under carrot. But when I started planning for
- 16:44this and you start to look into it, I definitely got a little
- 16:47less comfortable that we are one of the most prepared teams in
- 16:50the next season 100. Percent not agree with that.
- 16:54I know. Well, first of all, get into it,
- 16:56but I think we're going to cover.
- 16:58How you can say that we're a manager?
- 17:00Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly, exactly that.
- 17:03Yeah. So #1 manager is a bit of a big
- 17:05one. And then we've got the small
- 17:07matter of insurance and outs of players as well.
- 17:10So yeah, it doesn't feel super prepared, particularly not
- 17:14committed to carry. It's hard to buy buyers who
- 17:18don't know who they're going to be playing for as well.
- 17:20So it's like. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:22The chicken egg thing is like, well, yeah, it's, I would 100%
- 17:25not agree that we're very prepared.
- 17:30I don't feel so at all. But yeah, you know, Goldbridge
- 17:34likes to say interesting things sometimes, to say the least.
- 17:37But let's start with managing them because as you mentioned,
- 17:41that's surely the biggest thing we've got to nail down.
- 17:43And let's start with, let's start with Carrick.
- 17:46You know, me and you are fans, you know, currently sitting in
- 17:493rd in a pretty nice spot, top of the farm table, you know,
- 17:54since you joined with 23 points from a possible 30.
- 17:57Just to get some of the stats out there before we dive into
- 18:00it, he's won seven, he's lost one.
- 18:03He's drawn two goals for his 20 and goals against 11.
- 18:07And that's just in this stint. So obviously before in his
- 18:10previous didn't, he'd had a two no win against Villarreal, A32
- 18:14win against Arsenal and A11 draw against Chelsea.
- 18:18So mentioning that just to, you know, give us all a better
- 18:20context around the job he's, he's done and been doing pretty
- 18:23good, right? According to Opta, we've got a
- 18:2685.57% chance of making the Champions League this season,
- 18:30which makes me nervous because. I wonder why?
- 18:33It was pretty good. When he took out before he took
- 18:35over. I wonder what those stats were
- 18:37before. I wonder if it was like.
- 18:39There were. 60 something maybe? 7th right.
- 18:42Yeah, but we still only like a few points off.
- 18:45But yeah, it kind of been like major capitulation to not get
- 18:51it. Yeah, it's 14.43% of it is to go
- 18:56wrong, but. Yeah.
- 18:59So that, well that's some of the data.
- 19:01But then from from your point of view, Chaz Michael Carrick, pros
- 19:05and cons, what do you think? Pro Opera is obviously you've
- 19:09just listed them with all the stats.
- 19:11Basically it's like the performance on the pitch, the
- 19:14results, the table. Like I think he's done better
- 19:18than anyone would have expected. And it's almost like I feel a
- 19:21bit bad for the way that he's done so well that now people
- 19:24were like criticizing him for, which is fine to criticize him,
- 19:28but almost forgetting what he's done and how bad we were and
- 19:32where we were and how many chances we had to be in the top
- 19:344-5 throughout the season, which we never grasp.
- 19:37And he's come in and he's grabbed it and we're up to 3rd.
- 19:40So I think what he's doing is, is is amazing.
- 19:44Obviously we've discussed it on a few pods that there's been
- 19:47some, I guess slight concerns creeping in, which is fine to
- 19:51have. But overall you've got to say
- 19:53like if he keeps doing what he's doing and keeping that win rate,
- 19:59you've got to give him the job, right?
- 20:00Because the risk of not giving him the job.
- 20:04And bring someone else in and they're not working is massive.
- 20:07Particularly a manager from who's maybe not got experience
- 20:10in their Premier League or the options which are available in
- 20:13the Premier League aren't like you've got to get that manager,
- 20:18got to get an amazing like future world class manager type
- 20:22thing. None of them are standing out
- 20:23like that. So yeah, from my perspective,
- 20:25like the pros are massively outweighing the the negatives at
- 20:29the moment. The same, yeah.
- 20:32And like you, I'm trying to look at it kind of objectively as
- 20:35well and really, and you know, not be too biased by what's
- 20:39going on now, but he just, he's winning more often than not.
- 20:43Like you said, there's a couple of question marks over some of
- 20:46the performances, but getting the job done, just I'm doing it.
- 20:51There's a calmness around the club while he's there at the
- 20:53helm. He's kind of saying the right
- 20:55things, doing the right things. It looks the part now we always
- 20:58mention about he knows United and knows what we're about, but
- 21:00that is massive. And some some people above him
- 21:03have no idea what the club's about as well.
- 21:05So at least a manager who gets it is, is pretty important.
- 21:07You know, Jason Wilcox doesn't really know was apart from from
- 21:10the outside. Omar Browder doesn't know us
- 21:12from the outside as well. So the yeah, I totally agree in
- 21:16terms of the pros cons for me really, you know, of course he's
- 21:21lacking experience at the level, but we know other managers also
- 21:25have. Every manager has to like
- 21:27experience at some point, right? That's how you get experience.
- 21:30You go instantly become a world class manager.
- 21:32Like even if you look at pet, for example, like he still had
- 21:35to do stuff at Barcelona B beforehand and go in and kind of
- 21:41be groomed to that role and clock was an instinct success
- 21:45and he managed to win that one title eventually.
- 21:47So like, yeah, no one, no one's a world class manager on day
- 21:53one. Like you need experience and how
- 21:56do you get bigger experience if you're not allowed to be a big
- 21:58club? But it's just an odd criticism
- 22:02to to kind of throw people right.
- 22:05Yeah. And I'll meet Mikhail Arteta as
- 22:07well. Obviously another one.
- 22:10There's examples there, but I understand it obviously if there
- 22:13is, if there was an obvious and we'll get into some of the
- 22:15options, yeah, potentially. But if there's, if there's a
- 22:18manager out there where you just think this guy's got it all and
- 22:21all and he's available, I understand that.
- 22:23But. Yeah.
- 22:23Have you had a pet available now?
- 22:26Let's say literally pet was available.
- 22:27He hasn't been at City for the last eight years, right.
- 22:30He's been at, I know AC Milan, he's 100% go do everything to
- 22:34get Pat and we'd love him as a manager.
- 22:37And you'd probably say that about maybe we're going to
- 22:40discuss, but there's not no one out there that you like.
- 22:44You've got a game even like Ancelotti's a great, amazing
- 22:46mind and amazing. But he's he's getting on a bit.
- 22:49So is that really like a long term goal?
- 22:51So you just think, yeah, there's so much risk involved with any
- 22:56of a choice when there's no obvious choice, if that makes
- 22:58sense. Yeah, and and like you said as
- 23:02well, it's, you know, we're all kind of enjoying it at the
- 23:04moment. And if we if we RIP Carrick
- 23:06away, then there's always going to be that what if question,
- 23:09isn't it? I mean, let's look at the other
- 23:10side of it. We're definitely like burnt by
- 23:14the Ollie experience, which I think sometimes we don't look
- 23:17back on that properly either as well.
- 23:19But I do think there's a lot of people worried that it's just
- 23:21going to be an Ollie Mark 2 and we'll give him the job, we'll
- 23:25over commit and then it'll it'll go very well.
- 23:29Ollie Mark 2 though, while he came second and third and got to
- 23:33Europa League final. Yeah, like that was obviously
- 23:36not accessory in the old standards, but we've got so much
- 23:39worse since then. Like if you get if say Carrick
- 23:43takes over and his first season he comes second and third and he
- 23:45gets to a final Europa European competition final and maybe he
- 23:49wins it. I don't think people are going
- 23:51to be climbing for his sacking. Obviously Finale got sacked, he
- 23:54was further down but like you can look a lot more positively
- 24:00back on socials performance now in the light of hard badly
- 24:07anyone else's name? No.
- 24:10And to be honest with each other, really just trying to
- 24:12kind of bring the devil's advocate a little bit so we
- 24:14properly assess him. But yeah, I think there is some
- 24:17of that in the thinking, right? And there's obviously probably a
- 24:20little bit looking at his Burr experience where he started
- 24:23really well and then he kind of tailed off in his second season
- 24:26and obviously ultimately ended up getting the sack.
- 24:27But surely as well, that's a learning experience from him
- 24:31where it doesn't mean that that's going to be how it goes.
- 24:34Again, you'd hope that a clever guy like him and what he's been
- 24:38doing, he's going to learn from that experience, right?
- 24:40And think, OK, he'll be, if anyone's going to be aware of
- 24:42that, there'll be nobody more so than him thinking, yeah, in my
- 24:46last job, this happened, so how do I stop that happening again?
- 24:48And he's got, he's pulled some good experience around him as
- 24:52well to hope to learn from that. But yeah, they're they're
- 24:54probably the things that people are of leveraging.
- 24:57I am. Yeah, One thing from me, I guess
- 25:01is the the lack of, I guess it's not necessarily a Plan B as
- 25:08such, because we are on the whole, we've been winning lots
- 25:10of the games. It's just maybe not seeing
- 25:13enough for those changes. Or again, there's not a lot you
- 25:16can change when the squad's so thin.
- 25:18But like, yeah, maybe Cesco should have been starting more.
- 25:21Is that kind of a the blocker to his style that he he only wants
- 25:26to play the certain style? He doesn't really want that type
- 25:28of forward? I don't know.
- 25:29I guess I'm just trying to think of another potential con.
- 25:33But again, you hope that we're a bigger squad, more competitions.
- 25:36You'd see is that sort of flexibility next season.
- 25:40So yeah, that's probably it. I can't really see like he's
- 25:46he's overachieved at everyone's expectations and you've got to
- 25:51take a positive from that, not negatives because it's similar
- 25:54to what Ollie did and we sucked Ollie like two seasons later.
- 25:58Like I think you just got to be enjoying it and then take a full
- 26:04review at the end of the season essentially and see where he
- 26:06stands. But if he continues at a win
- 26:09rate, like I think it's madness to to look elsewhere really.
- 26:16Yeah, we don't have to commit to a 10 year contract or any you
- 26:19know what I mean? It could be we could be sent,
- 26:21I'm sure Carrie could be kind of open that to that as well
- 26:24because of the the opportunity that he's got.
- 26:26So so yeah. And it just on that point then
- 26:29in terms of a processing chance where the people I I get a
- 26:32little bit confused by what I hear in the media because we
- 26:34heard that kind of Jason Wilcox had started this process of
- 26:38identifying the next replacement.
- 26:41But then more recently, I've been hearing that apparently
- 26:43there's been no. Transport to anyone?
- 26:45Yeah. With with potential candidates
- 26:48so. I felt like that can't be it
- 26:50must be there must be conversations in the background,
- 26:52maybe not official. We like talking to clubs
- 26:55managers about talking to their manager or talking to Brazil
- 26:58talk to you know, I mean, there must be apparently Omar Brad has
- 27:02got like an amazing network. So he's probably talking to
- 27:05agents. And so I think there must be
- 27:07there must be whispers and stuff.
- 27:08If not, again, I'm very concerned by this structure if
- 27:12they're not talking to people, but you've got to you get a got
- 27:14to be same. Can you think about the way we
- 27:16went about the transfers last summer?
- 27:19Like they got this stuff done quick.
- 27:20We knew who were going after and obviously the umbrella dragged
- 27:23out, but everyone knew who were going after.
- 27:25He wanted to come. I just gotta think they must be
- 27:28doing in a similar way. But like those things like the
- 27:31Kuna one, we signed in like 5 days after the news broke about
- 27:34it. So maybe it'll be a similar sort
- 27:36of thing like that where it's suddenly carrots got the job or
- 27:40by doing Naggles and it's coming in, you know?
- 27:42I mean like, I think. I'm hoping that's the case
- 27:45anyway. Yeah.
- 27:47And just for the due diligence as well, right, of obviously
- 27:50doing this properly and it's not disrespectful to Carrick.
- 27:53It's, it's what we should be doing as a proper club and a
- 27:55proper outfit of obviously doing our homework.
- 27:57And if we do decide just to carry on with Carrick, as we've
- 28:00mentioned, at least we can say we have had some conversations,
- 28:03we've heard what other managers have had to say, checked the
- 28:05availability and we've made an informed decision to kind of
- 28:09move forward with Carrick based and everything he's done, but
- 28:12also what is available out there and stuff.
- 28:14So I really, really hope that we have been doing what we, you
- 28:17know, that as you say, let's get into some of the potential
- 28:22candidates then that may or may not have been spoken to.
- 28:25I think in terms of odds and the names, we've been hearing the
- 28:28list that I've got and feel free to Chuck some other ones in our
- 28:30chest as well as yet. Luis Enrique, you mentioned
- 28:33Nagles men, Eriola and Emery. Any others that you think?
- 28:39There was, Glasner was in there a bit, Deserby's been in there a
- 28:43bit. And apparently again, some of
- 28:45the old podcasts from The Athletic over this is probably a
- 28:48couple of months back now. I mentioned them being people
- 28:50they were looking at, but yeah, they're probably the main the
- 28:54main ones. Yeah, well, let's maybe dive
- 28:59into them. I think the Glasner thing is
- 29:01he's got to be unlikely now, right?
- 29:03With this kind of how he, you know.
- 29:04Yeah, I think so. I wouldn't want him anyway.
- 29:07Definitely not. No, same.
- 29:11Obviously with his, he's in preferring a bit of a 352 as
- 29:14well. Yeah, is an interesting bit.
- 29:17Emery, I can't see it really. Can you?
- 29:20No, I think, I think he's doing a good job at Villa and I think
- 29:26he I think he almost deserves another big club, but not
- 29:31United. I think it's like a big club in
- 29:36Spain or like could he do enough let's go Madrid or could he do
- 29:40AAC or Inter or UVA? I kind of see him doing well
- 29:44over there, but don't see him like I really like him.
- 29:48He's a great manager. I don't think he's quite there
- 29:53for us. He doesn't quite do it for me.
- 29:56Now same. And it seems to have almost
- 29:58quieted down on him and Links anyway, and I don't know if
- 30:01that's tied to Villa having a bit of a drop off, but yeah, I
- 30:05don't really see that either. And he's not someone I would be
- 30:08excited to replace Carrick, I don't think.
- 30:12But yeah, Areola obviously has been doing really well, to be
- 30:16honest, from what I've been hearing more recently.
- 30:18I think he's just Bilbao bound. I think that's it just feels
- 30:21like a good fit. And yeah, he's been quizzed
- 30:25about it. He keeps calling it his club and
- 30:28I think if that. If his contract's off as well,
- 30:30right? And this, yeah, I again, if I
- 30:36basically know, is my word on him.
- 30:38I just don't think he is. He's a solid Premier League
- 30:44manager and maybe he'd go away to Bilbao and do really well and
- 30:48challenge the league or something like that there, but I
- 30:51just don't see, I don't think the step up there.
- 30:54He's too risky. He's a bit hammering me.
- 30:57Obviously it's a Premier League experience, but Nah, just it's
- 31:01just not a big enough character for it, I don't think.
- 31:06Yeah, we've, we've seen it's a totally different job in it as
- 31:09well. Like look at Thomas Frank doing
- 31:11really good job at Brentford, then going to Spurs and having a
- 31:14nightmare. And it I don't think it
- 31:17guarantees you probably, you maybe deserve a chance because
- 31:21you've been doing so well at a smaller club with smaller
- 31:23resources. But I don't think that's a
- 31:25natural transition into a big opportunity like United and
- 31:29being probably a bit disrespectful to some other
- 31:31clubs. But go and cut your teeth at
- 31:33Spurs or somewhere on that global level before you try and
- 31:37get yeah, exactly. Before, before you get, you
- 31:41know, an opportunity of Man United.
- 31:43I think you should be, yeah, you should be at a level and
- 31:46obviously that goes against what we were just talking about in
- 31:48terms of Carrick, but Carrick's at least got that connection
- 31:52with the club. He's also doing the job already.
- 31:55That's the thing. He's already in the job.
- 31:57So like, yeah, if this was, I know, say I know someone else
- 32:02had taken over and just kept just kind of ticking over and it
- 32:06wasn't doing well, maybe we'd get 5th on that.
- 32:08But if Carrick's name was in there and he hadn't been there,
- 32:12that we no one would consider him.
- 32:14But at the end of the day, he has to be considered now because
- 32:16he's basically doing the job he's doing well.
- 32:18So that's why his name's in there versus an area and why I'd
- 32:22probably rather keep character and risk a kind of up and coming
- 32:27trendy ish smaller club manager. Yeah, no, a great point.
- 32:34I agree with you. Let's then maybe look at two of
- 32:39the bigger names who could be more of a of a fit.
- 32:44And then one day it looks like it could happen.
- 32:46One day it looks like it's totally off.
- 32:48But the two probably that I keep hearing is now Guzman and
- 32:52Enrique. What do you think about those
- 32:53two? So Enrique obviously is the one
- 32:56that I would probably the only one that I'd probably be excited
- 32:59about over Carrot. And he's probably the only one
- 33:04that would go actually. It's worth the gamble.
- 33:07Say Carrot gets third. I think I'd still want Carrot.
- 33:11But if they did switch and it was to like Lewis, Enrique, you
- 33:14go, OK, fair enough. The guys won two trebles.
- 33:17He probably he might. He's got a decent chance of
- 33:19winning another treble this year.
- 33:22Yeah. So you got to go.
- 33:24Well, yeah, but the risks are still massive.
- 33:27He's not worked in the Premier League.
- 33:29The squad that we have isn't as good as the PSG squad.
- 33:33It's not as good as obviously not as good as Neymar, Messi and
- 33:37Suarez when he won the other treble.
- 33:38So how does he translate? And we won't have half a billion
- 33:44to spend in the summer, which could turn that squad into
- 33:47because if he came and goes, OK, I want if I want this massive
- 33:52war chest to build my team and it, and it's not so far away
- 33:56that you don't, you probably need like 5 world class
- 33:59signings. The five world class signings is
- 34:01500 million pretty much. So then I'll be very confident
- 34:08when coming in. But because that doesn't exist,
- 34:10then there's still massive risk involved with him.
- 34:13But he's the one I would least, be least scared of having and
- 34:17the most excited about having. And then I was man.
- 34:21I'm less on him. Let's kind of again, I'll
- 34:26probably just choose Karakov and I was man, just because he's
- 34:31like a better hipster version of like 10 Haag.
- 34:35I think he's like 10 but better. But is he good enough for us or
- 34:41not? He obviously won stuff at
- 34:42buying, but not enough stuff. And so like, we've only lost
- 34:47people out with the board and stuff at buying.
- 34:49But that's a slight concern. And he's been international
- 34:52football for the last couple of years.
- 34:54I'll see if he wins the World Cup with Germany, which I don't
- 34:56think he'll do. Yeah, again, doesn't get me
- 34:59super excited. I don't know what you think on
- 35:00those two. Yeah, yeah, I think you nailed
- 35:04it. He's now goes man just feels
- 35:06slightly and this might be unfair to him because I don't
- 35:08know loads and loads about him, but feels us a little bit
- 35:11unproven. And obviously that could be
- 35:13exciting to maybe bring him in and see him grow, but I don't
- 35:17know it's. Been bad.
- 35:21Yeah, so we've been burnt by many, many, but the problem is
- 35:24we've been burnt by all kinds of unproven.
- 35:29Yeah. So that's why I'm just really
- 35:31nervous about all of these. But I do agree with you, just
- 35:33based on, you know, where he's at in his career, what he's won
- 35:36already. Enrique is probably the only one
- 35:38where I'd say fair if he's available.
- 35:41You know, what's a really good plan, an idea across and it fits
- 35:45with, again, really importantly for me, fits with how Barada and
- 35:50Wilcox see United and a United manager and, you know, carrying
- 35:54on kind of what Carrie's done and started not coming in and
- 35:58saying, right, we're doing things my way, completely
- 36:00different. It has to be a fit for the
- 36:02United Way and the United philosophy.
- 36:04And if, you know, Enrique can kind of show that and bring them
- 36:08his experience and his track record, fine.
- 36:11But Finger agreed. Jazz at me.
- 36:14His character isn't it. Until there was a reason not to.
- 36:18Yeah, I think I saw that Enrique maybe said he's probably going
- 36:23to sign a contract extension. I think I saw again on some of
- 36:27these. So I think he's probably not
- 36:28even available anyway. So in that case, it's 100% got
- 36:32to be Kayak unless we lose the next 7 and end up in the Europa
- 36:35League or something like that. I don't know.
- 36:36But yeah, yeah, I just don't think there's enough desirable
- 36:41candidates out there that are worth the risk.
- 36:44I think there's one and that's Enrique.
- 36:46I don't think he's going to come so.
- 36:49Now there's a clip of of him with a fan who kind of said I
- 36:52want you to stay, and he kind of said me too.
- 36:54And then he mentioned the United job and he kind of laughed it
- 36:57off. So you never know what that
- 36:58means. But yeah, I think we're both,
- 37:01we're both pretty agreed on the Carrick obviously just mentioned
- 37:03in a couple of the names, so too cool.
- 37:05And Ancelotti, we pretty much know they're both out as well.
- 37:08Right. With that, I think those
- 37:10contracts, yeah. He's loving his life on the
- 37:14beach in Brazil. Yeah.
- 37:18So yeah, going back to us being totally prepared, that's just
- 37:22the manager. But like I say, I think spending
- 37:25Chaz A-Team Carrick until convinced otherwise, like say,
- 37:30don't have to throw a 10 year contract at him, but let's keep
- 37:34this going and hope he can come back from his Dublin camp and we
- 37:38can have a great end to the season.
- 37:40And then we can go into somewhere with a better
- 37:42stability because then Jazz got the small matter of a team to
- 37:48sell out as well as the manager. So let's have a look at this.
- 37:52And so we're talking about transfers.
- 37:55So I say silly seasons kind of started, but does it ever go
- 37:58away with Man United? We're seeing players every day.
- 38:00With. This agent, Yeah.
- 38:04So let's get into it. I think before we look at ends,
- 38:07let's just quickly cover out because there's a bit of stuff
- 38:10to do on that side of thing. Yeah, this summer.
- 38:13So let's go from Casamero. We know it's kind of the end.
- 38:18Yeah, Yeah. More recently, kind of been
- 38:21asked about that again. That sounds a bit right into
- 38:25Miami, LA guy to see what I've heard.
- 38:27So yeah, look, you see him in the pink of into Miami.
- 38:31I think it'd be pretty. They seem to be hiring the old
- 38:34kind of next bus there in real stars.
- 38:39Can see that with his David Beckham links.
- 38:41Yeah, we've debated, obviously, whether he should stay and could
- 38:45it be good to have a bit of crossover.
- 38:47But fair play to him, you know, and if he can end on a high, get
- 38:50us in the Champions League, score a few more goals,
- 38:53Wonderful. I'm going to ask Bruno
- 38:56Fernandez. No.
- 38:58Will he stay? For sure.
- 38:59Yes, yeah, if he doesn't have the human like he's got to stay
- 39:07like you can't replace him like so yeah, doesn't matter.
- 39:12Like if you've got 100 million from now, like I might well who
- 39:16are you going to replace him with?
- 39:19Who's going to deliver that many goals and assists and chances
- 39:21created and he's going to get better at that when he has a
- 39:24better midfield behind him or more just keep me feel behind
- 39:27him. So yeah, absolutely ludicrous to
- 39:31selling. So I'm definitely hope we do
- 39:33not. Let me be cheeky.
- 39:36So a scenario Cole Palmer's kicking off at Chelsea, Man
- 39:43United Fund, Cole Palmer becomes available for us for.
- 39:46Obviously it would probably be significant money, but it means
- 39:49kind of a Bruno out a Cole Palmer in what you're thinking.
- 39:52No, not doing it. No, like I, I think I rate him,
- 39:57but look at his stats. Like obviously it's not all
- 40:00about stats, but. You see just the outputs not
- 40:04been, especially this last season, like you're just not
- 40:06there. And obviously I love him at the
- 40:08club, but not not in face of Bruno.
- 40:11What would be ideal is you could bring him in.
- 40:13You learn from Bruno. That'd been incredible for like
- 40:16the last couple of seasons. But yeah, 350 million, what
- 40:19would be then? Also, I don't think we need that
- 40:22position is not one of my top priorities at all.
- 40:26No. And obviously I'm being cheeky,
- 40:29but Can you imagine as well if Bruno actually left this summer?
- 40:31Because we're winning the Prem next year, aren't we?
- 40:33So he can't leave the year before after all he's done?
- 40:35Exactly. Yeah, you know, all right, good.
- 40:39Bruno stay and Bruno stay. And then we've got, we've got a
- 40:42list of players who are kind of on loan with some pretty much
- 40:45done, but then there's still some question marks.
- 40:48So we've got Highland, Rashford, Anana and Sancho out on loan I
- 40:53think. Highland.
- 40:54Is pretty much done right and Napoli want him.
- 40:57They're probably getting. 5 million.
- 41:02Yeah, although we've been stung before with Chelsea paying a
- 41:06blooming fee to get out of an obligation.
- 41:09If that did happen with Ireland, it's not as nowhere near as bad
- 41:14as if I haven't with Sunshine. First of all, you can probably
- 41:16sell them somewhere else. And if he was in the squad still
- 41:20like he's not, it's not Sancho level.
- 41:23He could be a decent backup but I don't think that'd be a
- 41:27question anyway. They like me scoring goals so
- 41:29definitely need to consider. That so Highland Harlan's gone,
- 41:33as you mentioned, Sancho. Is it just cut ties, do you
- 41:36think? Sancho?
- 41:37See. Yeah.
- 41:38I think he's done his contracts done anyway, so he's gone.
- 41:41Yeah, gone. She's gone, right?
- 41:42He's assuming. We're not going to opt to do the
- 41:44plus year one or if there is one, good riddance and.
- 41:49That, yeah. And Anna?
- 41:51No way back, right? Apparently he I saw an article a
- 41:55few weeks ago and saying he wants to come back and fight.
- 41:57I think that's just, I think he'll be, he'll be sold that
- 42:02huge loss. I want to play.
- 42:04I want to play for United Jazz. But exactly.
- 42:07Yeah. It will it will be a huge last
- 42:10point. So we thinking he's gone.
- 42:12Yeah. And then it's an interesting 1.
- 42:16Marcus Rashford obviously you know, along on social now you
- 42:20just see in all these little runs and doing bits and he's
- 42:22Basil on the time we're going to get into it but left, you know,
- 42:27wing left side is something we are looking at definitely gone.
- 42:31He's gone. Yeah.
- 42:34Yeah, I think also I think he's kind of like, he's kind of not,
- 42:42he's tainted in itself with the club, but a kind of the way
- 42:45Brennan left. He's burnt some bridges and I
- 42:47think the best for everyone is for him to leave an ideal it be
- 42:52to Barcelona for whatever pathetic amount they try to pay,
- 42:5626 million or something stupid like that, and they're not even
- 42:58trying to pay that. So yeah, he'll be gone.
- 43:02Surely not though. And please not another loan like
- 43:05we just try to keep getting I. Think also now you can be like,
- 43:10well we'll sell them someone else because I think he's played
- 43:12well enough that other clubs would be in for him now because
- 43:13it was a bit of stuff last season.
- 43:15They weren't sure about his how he's been playing.
- 43:18But I think because he's been playing away play well for him
- 43:20and apparently the other night so so he's probably going to get
- 43:23in the World Cup squad. So I think, yeah, I think he'll
- 43:28he'll go and I think it will be to Barcelona.
- 43:32Fair. OK, that's that, that crop done
- 43:35then and sorted. Then I guess under that there's
- 43:38by India, Molassia, Agate, Xerxe and maybe even Mason Mount.
- 43:44What do you think about that crop of people?
- 43:46By India can go fine without it, can go to use room to go to
- 43:50Turkey because you've got that live from the Bristol City.
- 43:57The tech apparently he's really good.
- 43:59He's been like player of the month for lots of the months of
- 44:02season 4 then. So he can come in if he wants
- 44:05to. He's only like 2122.
- 44:07So you can come and be the understudy or even push lemons
- 44:12for the number one spot potentially.
- 44:14So I think that's that kind of position sorted.
- 44:16The last year needs to go. We got a if we can get like 30
- 44:21million for him or something. Happy for him to go dirty, it's
- 44:25just not worked so I think it's better for him to go as well.
- 44:30Yeah. And Matt I think I would keep
- 44:34because he was probably one of the better players in the
- 44:36armroom when he was fit. The issue with Matt has always
- 44:38never been his ability, just his having him on the pitch enough
- 44:44to show that ability. So I'd probably keep him.
- 44:48I think he's a good squad player, particularly in the
- 44:51Champions League and stuff like that.
- 44:52For assume we get into that. I think we need, we can't sell
- 44:55that many players basically. Yeah, true, I think I agree with
- 45:00you on them. I'd be very happy if we got 30
- 45:03mil for a Gatti. I can't really see it, but you
- 45:04never know. Yeah, like Josh, as you said,
- 45:08don't really think it's kind of worked out, kind of bought for a
- 45:11different system in a different way.
- 45:12So I feel a little bit sorry for him.
- 45:14There's definitely, there's a player in there, as I called
- 45:16him, the Daniel Long Legs, but it's just not really, I don't
- 45:20think he's that he's necessarily the one for us.
- 45:22So I'd definitely be open. To Italy.
- 45:24Offers on that and I probably do, you know what, I really like
- 45:28Mount and I like what he's about, but there is a big
- 45:30question mark over his availability and that kind of
- 45:32stuff. So if an interesting bid came
- 45:35in, I'd definitely listen to it, I think.
- 45:37Yeah, what's an interesting bid, though.
- 45:41Yeah. 20,000,025 mile. Amount, maybe, yeah, just with
- 45:47what we're trying to do, yeah, I'm realistic now.
- 45:49We don't, we don't make any money on players anymore and we
- 45:52lose money all the time. But if it's not a joke of a loan
- 45:56or it's, you know, something that we could use to actually
- 45:59reinvest, like 2020 Plus, I'd probably listen to it just
- 46:04purely based on availability and what we might be able to do with
- 46:08that money. Yeah.
- 46:11I agree. All right, out sent, pretty much
- 46:13sorted. That's good.
- 46:15So then hopefully we clear the decks, we finally do get rid of
- 46:20some of them players who have been clinging on. 1st off, Jazz,
- 46:24I've got a bit of an order that I think is the priority of ends
- 46:27and I want to get your opinion. So I'm saying #1 and has been
- 46:32for probably God knows how many years.
- 46:34And number six, Yeah, I agree. Any question marks?
- 46:38I agree. All right, number #2, I'm saying
- 46:41a #8. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:44So like basically a second midfielder like I don't like,
- 46:47yeah, my my hesitancy is like depending on who you sign of
- 46:52those two, does it kind of change what those how those
- 46:56midfielders 3 work together with Bruno, Kobe, etcetera?
- 47:01How does it all work together? So but yes, two midfielders is
- 47:04my top 2 for sure. All right, well, let's get into
- 47:08them too straight away then, because I think you've raised a
- 47:10good point. Sometimes I'm a bit confused
- 47:12with some of the the people were being linked with us to kind of
- 47:15visit a classic number six. Is it a bit more of an 8?
- 47:18How does that work with Cobby Mania as well?
- 47:20But starting with the number six, and I think that the true
- 47:24number six is I would see them and the main names I think we've
- 47:27been linked with are Elliot Anderson, also strong ties with
- 47:31Man City potentially in terms of them being interested and then
- 47:35constantly from last summer as well.
- 47:37The Libra. Would you add anyone into that
- 47:39mix? Is like a out and out six I'm
- 47:42that I'm missing? Not really.
- 47:48The thing is with Anderson, I would say he's more than a six.
- 47:55He's he's very different to believer and he's he's got a lot
- 47:59more progressive passing. He pops up on the wings and
- 48:02things like that. So I think he is a six, but he's
- 48:05a different 6, if that makes sense.
- 48:08So yeah. Yeah.
- 48:11And then you've got where does Bruno give her a shit?
- 48:17Does he? Because.
- 48:20Yeah, I put that well, it's a good point You raised that
- 48:22because in the 8 category, and obviously we're interchanging
- 48:24these two roles because obviously they're very closely
- 48:27linked. Obviously we've got the rumours
- 48:30have started a bit more around Tanali more recently and I see
- 48:33him as more of an 8 and a six. Same with Adam Wharton as well.
- 48:37Because when I look at Newcastle, and again, I might be
- 48:39completely wrong here, I don't watch enough of Newcastle to
- 48:42really, really know. But I kind of feel that like
- 48:45Bruno feels almost like the deeper Lion and then Somali get
- 48:49Tanali kind of moving forward. But I've got like completely
- 48:51wrong. That's how I Sir, I I see Tanali
- 48:55as he's got more legs than gimmers, but then gimmers been
- 49:02popping up with goals and all sorts.
- 49:03I don't really know, I probably don't watch.
- 49:05Enough. Of them either, yeah, because
- 49:08then again, thinking of the Anderson and Belabor thing, I
- 49:10think they have two very different players, but can both
- 49:13play in that position depending on who you've got next to them.
- 49:17But I think like what I've heard on a couple of podcasts, so
- 49:22maybe even The Athletic, it was, but it was that.
- 49:27But Labour basically is almost like a done deal.
- 49:30And then it's the Labour and other and that is then Anderson,
- 49:35Denali, Wharton, gimmers, all those kind of options is what I
- 49:43heard recently on I think is The Athletic.
- 49:47So I don't know if that's true, but I guess they're thinking we
- 49:51really liked the Labour last year.
- 49:53We saw him as £100 million player.
- 49:56He's been a bit Panzer season, but we still know as a player in
- 49:58there. So now we can get 50 million or
- 50:0360 million. He's like 22.
- 50:05I think he is. So maybe that's why that one's
- 50:08kind of almost done. And then the big one, which is
- 50:11the 80 to 100 million is this other player, which is your
- 50:16Anderson, Tanali, Wharton are those ones.
- 50:20But then in my opinion, Tanali isn't worth what they're quoting
- 50:268200, I don't know. I think he's another 50-60 guy
- 50:30in my opinion. And then?
- 50:36Same, same. I'm not excited about the
- 50:38Tsunali rumours and again, that might be might be off, you know,
- 50:43but I don't watch loads and loads of him.
- 50:46But I just don't get in him. And obviously I would give him
- 50:50all the support and I'd love to see him do well if he does join,
- 50:52but I just feel a bit strange about that.
- 50:55And but when we watched the trainer.
- 50:57Did you that game he played right?
- 51:00He did, yeah. We were watching lyrical about
- 51:05Joe Linton more than obviously Bruno was injured, but it wasn't
- 51:11like, Oh my God. Yeah, let's go get to now.
- 51:13If anyone from that game you'd get Joe Linton.
- 51:16No, I don't want him. But that's what you would say.
- 51:18So yeah, I'm not like I saw whether it was 85,000,000 rumor
- 51:24or 89,000,000 for Denali and I was like that's too much money.
- 51:28Like if we got on for 50-60 I'll be happy and then with someone
- 51:33else but I only want to be spending 80 million plus really
- 51:37is on Anderson. I don't think any of them rests
- 51:40them maybe Wharton, but I think Wharton is quite similar ish to
- 51:44Kobe in what he does. He's not like crazy.
- 51:48Anderson's kind of got it all. He's quite mobile and gets
- 51:50around a bit. He could put a tackle in and but
- 51:53I don't think Wharton has that side to him as much.
- 51:57So then you'd be worried that yeah, is he worth that big money
- 52:02as well? And I just worried generally,
- 52:05you know, it's all right, Castamero goes say.
- 52:07But say we had a dream summer and Belabor and Anderson came
- 52:11in. How does that work with Kobe?
- 52:13Well, I think the idea is that I guess you're remembering
- 52:16probably 20 and there's going to be, well, at least 50.
- 52:24Let's hope we get past the first round of the FA Cup and League
- 52:26Cup at least, say 55 games or something next season.
- 52:30So if Kobe only gets 2530 games or gets like 60 games but 25 of
- 52:38them are starts, then maybe he's OK with that.
- 52:43Well, he's never, never going to be OK with it.
- 52:45But then it's still pushing him on.
- 52:47He's developing because he is only 20.
- 52:50That's the only thing I guess you got to remember.
- 52:52So maybe that's why that could still work because we just have
- 52:57more games. If it was this season, then
- 53:00yeah, you'd be worried. Yeah, Fairpoint, Fairpoint.
- 53:05So yeah, I think and we've mentioned this before, but I
- 53:08think the names we are here in the names that we know, and I've
- 53:10mentioned it on a previous pod, I'm a little bit nervous about
- 53:12that, that we're just going to go for.
- 53:15You know, I like the Premier League proven piece, but I do
- 53:18sometimes wish we'd just pull at least one of these positions to
- 53:20be a gem that we've never heard of the then we just fall in love
- 53:24with. And everyone's thinking where
- 53:25have United pulled in from because we always just seem to
- 53:28wait for other clubs to do that and then have to pay over, Yeah.
- 53:30You buy them, Yeah, for double your money.
- 53:32For a player. Yeah, they must always say.
- 53:34No. For this, who do we think?
- 53:37Who do you want them? I'd say yeah, dream dream picks
- 53:42and for this kind of 6 stroke, 8 if it's two players.
- 53:46I think I would take Anderson and I probably would just take
- 53:48the labour just because I think he's got more potential than
- 53:54tonight's already 2526. And I think what I don't think
- 53:58you need Walton and Anderson as to, whereas I think Belabor and
- 54:03Anderson along with Kobe and Bruno can work really well as a
- 54:06four, depending on which game you want to who you're playing.
- 54:09Like say you're playing someone with who's going to the ball
- 54:16more one of the top top teams. You maybe have Belabor and
- 54:20Anderson and Bruno, and then maybe if you're play in one of
- 54:24the bottom clubs, you have Anderson, Kobe and Bruno because
- 54:27you're more about dictating play, less about being
- 54:29combative. That's what I think probably the
- 54:32better ones to go for. What do you think?
- 54:35Yeah, I like it. Yeah, I really, I get England
- 54:38Fernando as well. So what I've seen of Anderson, I
- 54:40really like him and I would really hope we don't miss out on
- 54:44another player to see. And if I'm not saying we're very
- 54:47prepared like Goldbridge says, but I do think compared to years
- 54:51gone by, we are a more attractive offer than we've ever
- 54:54been really to come and join us. Because you can see an upward
- 54:57trajectory. You can see things going in the
- 54:59right direction. So, you know, you can see
- 55:01players like Cunya come in and then when will come in and doing
- 55:05well and getting stuck in. So yeah, Anderson's one that I
- 55:10would really like to get through the door.
- 55:13But Labour, I think it's because he's kind of fallen off a little
- 55:16bit, but that happens to younger players, right?
- 55:19But yeah, for me it's it's Anderson.
- 55:21And then maybe a little gem from around Europe or somewhere I've
- 55:26not really thought of. 20 million, yeah.
- 55:30Yeah, exactly, Exactly that, Exactly that.
- 55:32But yeah, we've said this for ages and it's an area we really
- 55:36need to address. And you know, Casimiro has been
- 55:38great, to be fair, but we know we're not in the market for that
- 55:41profile of player anymore, so be interesting to see moving on.
- 55:46Then I had a few other options. So I think I had a #3 as
- 55:51priority. I had backup striker, then I had
- 55:54left wing, then I had left back and then I'd add right back.
- 55:59What do you think about that priority?
- 56:02I'm probably I'm in between. I maybe put in left back higher
- 56:10up than left wing. If you had left wing higher, I
- 56:15just I think right back you're kind of OK with for another
- 56:20season with Dallow and Mazrawi, but I think left back, I don't
- 56:27know. I just don't can't really rely
- 56:29on Shaw to play that many games. Obviously he's done amazing this
- 56:34year and played so many games, but then you're trying.
- 56:36He can't play 5060 games without important part.
- 56:38I don't think so. I've maybe put that a bit a bit
- 56:41higher and the reason I put it higher than the left winger is
- 56:47because I'm quite hopeful of some of the youth coming
- 56:51through. Like we've seen like fashion of
- 56:56Shay Lacy and I can't remember his name.
- 57:00He scored the other day in the FA Youth Cup.
- 57:05It's got a couple of cameras name anyway, another winger.
- 57:08So I'm just hoping that maybe with this, the frontline we have
- 57:12and maybe a bit of youth cream free, we can focus on kind of a
- 57:17left back instead. And I think maybe it was Carl
- 57:20Anker on then athletic. OK, Devil was I think he said
- 57:23that if you unlock a decent attacking left back, then you
- 57:26probably don't need a left wing because that person will be
- 57:30overlapping junior. There might be and offering that
- 57:34sucking kind of assist threat which you don't have at the
- 57:36moment because sure's too tired. So I'd probably put that one
- 57:40higher. What you do?
- 57:42What you doing with Balon doggy then?
- 57:46I forgot about that doggy. I definitely don't need left.
- 57:49Definitely don't need it. Definitely don't need left me
- 57:51feeling do I? Even more so, even more so.
- 57:55Yeah. So are you having him as a as a
- 57:57left left winger going forward do you think?
- 58:00Yeah, but also I think he's got the experience and athleticism
- 58:04to play a left back as well, so. But I'd still want a left back
- 58:09over a left of the fielder, especially now you've reminded
- 58:11me of the best player. In the world.
- 58:16All right, that's interesting. And I had striker kind of after
- 58:19midfield as well. Do you agree with me in terms of
- 58:21like a backup striker being a priority or?
- 58:24Yeah, but not like. That role.
- 58:26Not like a money to spend, like not I don't know who's out and
- 58:31about. I need to.
- 58:32We should have to look at the free transfer lists, but or
- 58:35people going to their final year of their contracts.
- 58:37Like I'm thinking like 28 to 34 year old who's just can bang in
- 58:46a few goals, maybe get like 8 to 10 goals across all competitions
- 58:50in the season. Be happy to kind of be playing
- 58:52for United, but not necessarily starting every week.
- 58:54But then if you need them to, someone gets injured the
- 58:58standards and drop off massively.
- 59:00So I don't know who that is. Like, obviously I know we both
- 59:06love him. Welbeck would have been kind of
- 59:10ideal for that. And it would have been ideal for
- 59:12that. The last three, Four Seasons
- 59:14with everyone's been talking about him and I mean, he's been
- 59:16linked before and I think I kind of canned the deal.
- 59:18Is it Jim Ratcliffe maybe canned it a couple of years ago.
- 59:22So he's too old and we shouldn't be saying that.
- 59:23It's like, well, actually he'd be ideal.
- 59:27So someone like that, I don't know who they are.
- 59:29I like obviously Lewandowski, for example, he's a free
- 59:33transfer this summer, but obviously we probably can't
- 59:39afford him for what his role coming in.
- 59:42And they say you do want that, but imagine like Cesco learning
- 59:44from Lewandowski and Lewandowski kind of popping up and he's
- 59:48still class, still scores lots of goals.
- 59:50So, but there's someone like that out there.
- 59:51Obviously Calvert Lewin is 1 which we looked at last year.
- 59:54He's done really well, nice fit on a free transfer.
- 59:57So must be some decent transfers out there.
- 1:00:00Free transfers or 510,000,000 months out there I think.
- 1:00:04But I think it needs to be a experienced striker, not I'm not
- 1:00:08a young striker. Allah Henry Larson maybe?
- 1:00:12Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 1:00:15Yeah, Danny Welbeck's always one way to think.
- 1:00:17I would just be such a obviously hindsight as well, because he's
- 1:00:20been absolutely on fire this season.
- 1:00:21But yeah, what a lovely fit that would have been to have Danny
- 1:00:24Welbeck back. And I feel it was a crime to let
- 1:00:27him go anyway. But you're only in your head.
- 1:00:30Reinforcement we know anyone in your mind.
- 1:00:36You know, I think what I keep thinking about is more so this
- 1:00:39and Wemo the dilemma because obviously it's not fully working
- 1:00:43at the minute to kind of have him out on the right.
- 1:00:46And I hope I can change. But is there a bit more of like
- 1:00:51a mix up in certain games between them two through that
- 1:00:53central central play lot? We, you know, we tried to sign
- 1:00:56Semenyo and he would have come in probably on the right based
- 1:01:00on what he's done at the City. So I don't know.
- 1:01:03I just don't know whether not that I expect to become a backup
- 1:01:06striker, but I don't know. Could he have a bit more of a
- 1:01:10role centrally then down? But to prepare, it's not even
- 1:01:14really. It's not working that much for
- 1:01:15not there either, is it? Because.
- 1:01:17Stuff as well. So, yeah, as I say, we said on
- 1:01:20the last party, so a bit of a question mark over and when he's
- 1:01:24in his role there. But yeah, Danny Welbeck is the
- 1:01:26the perfect profile for me in terms of just someone proven,
- 1:01:30someone that can come on, someone that can score.
- 1:01:33I'd you know, I'd really, really like it.
- 1:01:35I guess Tiago as well at Brentford's been scoring goals
- 1:01:40and he's got that profile of like a big forward who is now
- 1:01:43pretty surely wouldn't. Yeah.
- 1:01:47Do you think? Yeah, Brentford, I suppose
- 1:01:50Brazilian, Brazilian as well, but could be a nice link up as
- 1:01:55well with the likes of Kunya and stuff as well.
- 1:01:57But yeah, it's it's an area where I would like to strengthen
- 1:02:00as you say, not going crazy on the on the price front, but if
- 1:02:03we could be be clever with a Better Business, they say maybe
- 1:02:07free transfer would like to see to see something there.
- 1:02:12And yeah, obviously we've just confused ourselves now with a
- 1:02:14little bit with with Balan Doggy, but we're saying left
- 1:02:18back now. And I think what's been
- 1:02:20mentioned is Lewis Hall and then the room is recently around
- 1:02:24Miles Lewis Skelly. What do you think about those?
- 1:02:27Lewis Hall, I think he's really good.
- 1:02:30I think he'll probably start for England.
- 1:02:34And yeah, I think he looks like a easy pay pops it with quite a
- 1:02:38few assists. And so he probably my #1 Chase
- 1:02:41Miles Lewis, he kind of burst onto the scene last year then.
- 1:02:46Is he out on loan? You got online?
- 1:02:49You did. He's definitely not starting the
- 1:02:53Arsenal. So he's obviously highly rated,
- 1:03:01but not seen enough of him this season to know if he's worthy of
- 1:03:05that high rating he had the season before.
- 1:03:08But I kind of, yeah. I basically take take either of
- 1:03:11those two. My preference would be Hall, but
- 1:03:14then yeah, Lewis Skelly. From what I saw previous years,
- 1:03:18I'd be surprised if they sold him, but yeah, I take him.
- 1:03:23Yeah, I feel asked. I kind of maybe not playing him
- 1:03:26as much because he's maybe a little bit lightweight as well
- 1:03:28as compared to kind of California and.
- 1:03:30Also they basically play centre back set but for their back
- 1:03:34forward in it's a bit weird so doesn't really fit into our
- 1:03:36systems. A traditional left back, yes.
- 1:03:40Yeah, I wouldn't have been that excited about him just based on
- 1:03:43that. And again, this is probably
- 1:03:45another position where I would love to to see us go into our
- 1:03:49scouting network and well. Yeah, it's a Patrice Edward.
- 1:03:52Yeah, Patrice Edward. Or get behind her by like
- 1:03:57someone out there who's well, maybe like Doggy is obviously
- 1:04:01someone like Doggy, maybe he can kind of come in and do a similar
- 1:04:05sort of transfer cost and exceed expectations basically.
- 1:04:11Yeah, exactly. But but also like you, I do
- 1:04:14really like the look of Lewis Hall.
- 1:04:15I've enjoyed watching him. It just seems that he's got got
- 1:04:18it all really and he's good on the ball, seems like a decent
- 1:04:22defender that gets stuck in as well.
- 1:04:23He's got a bit of physicality about him as well compared to
- 1:04:27the likes of Lewis Kelly and I think it would be a good one.
- 1:04:30But Newcastle fans aren't going to like us looking at all
- 1:04:37raiding them. I saw a bit of fun on Twitter, I
- 1:04:42think with some Newcastle fans who are kicking off.
- 1:04:45How really that we're staying on our bed.
- 1:04:48Enjoyable read them just obviously claiming to be this
- 1:04:51massive club that players shouldn't leave, but looks like
- 1:04:55there's some interest to leave. So someone's there.
- 1:04:58You know, all right, any, any other just generally when you're
- 1:05:02looking at our potential Inns and areas and potential players
- 1:05:06that you've seen as linked with that you'd that you'd want to
- 1:05:08mention. Yeah, well I do have like 1
- 1:05:11connection to United and they gave me a little insight.
- 1:05:16Have you heard this guy Wesley Snyder?
- 1:05:18Go on. Wesley Snyder was it to Rebo W
- 1:05:25as well. Yeah, the chat mandate finally,
- 1:05:30yeah. No, not.
- 1:05:31Really. The one that got away.
- 1:05:34The one of many that got away with her.
- 1:05:37Yeah. No, not really anyone out there
- 1:05:39that is realistic. And like you said, I don't, I'd
- 1:05:44rather not be looking at PSG's best players.
- 1:05:48And obviously Jim Ratcliffe said a lot of nonsense since he's
- 1:05:51been here, but him saying he wants to buy the next from
- 1:05:53Bappe, not on Bappe, is what we should be doing.
- 1:05:58Yeah, there's not that much evidence of that yet based on
- 1:06:02the kind of strategy and the players we're after again this
- 1:06:04summer and kind of permanently proven.
- 1:06:06But maybe he's obviously Bar and Doggies, probably one of the
- 1:06:10best person in the world says whether or not you find more
- 1:06:14people like that while you're securing.
- 1:06:17So basically you need to do some risky ones which don't break the
- 1:06:20bank because I've seen some rumours of a kind who is from.
- 1:06:25Yeah. Dear Monday from Leipzig, they
- 1:06:28won like 100 million from him. He said like half a good season.
- 1:06:30His stats are even that good. It's like, I don't want us to go
- 1:06:33anywhere near that kind of signing.
- 1:06:34We need to sign Dear Monday, the season before or two seasons
- 1:06:37before 30 million. And then it's not a risk.
- 1:06:41We've been blown by these risky Anthony signings and these are
- 1:06:44in the past. So yeah, stay clear of that.
- 1:06:47Yeah, let's let let's let Liverpool waste a bit more
- 1:06:50money. Exactly.
- 1:06:52And hopefully have another shocking season.
- 1:06:55Fingers crossed, yeah. And yeah, we haven't, we haven't
- 1:06:58mentioned centre back, but I felt we're pretty covered there.
- 1:07:00And obviously if we're going to be giving McGuire a bit of an
- 1:07:03extension as well, and if the Lick can ever recover from his
- 1:07:06back injury, then hopefully we should be in decent, decent
- 1:07:10stock there, right? Yeah, I think so.
- 1:07:11Yeah. But like Heaven and Europe as
- 1:07:13well, kind of getting older and more experienced and growing in
- 1:07:17stature, I think. Yeah, we're pretty, pretty set
- 1:07:19there. Definitely, definitely.
- 1:07:22But yeah, let's leave it there, Chaz.
- 1:07:23That was quite fun to delve into something a little bit different
- 1:07:25and to explore what the summer could look like, You know, of
- 1:07:29course, as well as the World Cup.
- 1:07:30We'll we'll have a proper look and we'll stay close to how
- 1:07:34things progress for United during the summer and yeah,
- 1:07:38insurance and outs and all that stuff.
- 1:07:39But yeah, what do you guys think?
- 1:07:41We've gone through a few things there manager it would be a
- 1:07:44choice and then insurance and outs who you're prioritizing and
- 1:07:48and what name what names have you heard who we missed who we
- 1:07:51missed Let us know yeah please add in the comments and as
- 1:07:55always drop this a like really helps and don't forget to
- 1:07:58subscribe and follow on all the platforms, YouTube, Spotify,
