Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode we're picking up where we
• 0:06
Speaker 1: left off with Doug Band and his interview with Congress. Question,
• 0:11
Speaker 1: your friendship with Ms. Maxwell. You said many times that
• 0:14
Speaker 1: you don't recall regarding that relationship, but you say that
• 0:18
Speaker 1: you were friends? Band, we were friends. Question, but you
• 0:21
Speaker 1: don't recall many, many interactions with her? Answer, no sir,
• 0:25
  Speaker 1: I don't recall. Higgins, that's all. Now it's Mr. Harness
• 0:29
Speaker 1: doing the questioning again. Question, just to touch quickly on this.
• 0:34
Speaker 1: Did you ever have a conversation with President Clinton about Mr.
• 0:37
Speaker 1: Epstein's assistance or young women around Mr. Epstein? Answer, not
• 0:41
Speaker 1: that I recall. Question, okay. I'd like to introduce into
• 0:44
Speaker 1: the record Majority Exhibit 1. This is an email chain
• 0:48
Speaker 1: on April 13th, 2003. Between the WJC email address, which
• 0:53
Speaker 1: I will admit to you is WJC at IMC I-N-G-U-L-A-R.com,
• 1:01
Speaker 1: singular with a C, and Ghislaine Maxwell. This is marked
• 1:04
Speaker 1: as Bates number, E-F-T-A-0-0-5-8-2-3-2-6. We'll give you a moment to
• 1:10
Speaker 1: review this. Answer, thank you. Question, Mr. Band. Outside of
• 1:16
Speaker 1: preparation for this interview, have you ever seen these messages before? Answer,
• 1:21
Speaker 1: I don't recall this message at all, no. Question, from
• 1:24
Speaker 1: the WJC email address, did you send that email? Answer,
• 1:27
Speaker 1: I don't recall sending it. Question, Mr. Band, is that
• 1:31
Speaker 1: WJC email address? Is that your email address? Answer, you know,
• 1:35
Speaker 1: I don't remember specifically the email addresses that we used
• 1:38
Speaker 1: and we didn't use, but I believe so. Question, so Mr. Band,
• 1:42
Speaker 1: did you have access to a WJC email account to
• 1:46
Speaker 1: which I've already laid out to you? Did you have
• 1:49
Speaker 1: access to that? Answer, to the best of my recollection, yes. Question,
• 1:53
Speaker 1: did anyone else have access to that email address? Answer,
• 1:56
Speaker 1: I don't think so. Not that I can recall. Question,
• 2:00
Speaker 1: so then we can agree that if you don't recall
• 2:02
Speaker 1: anybody else having access to this, but you had access
• 2:06
Speaker 1: to this, this is your email? Answer, I believe so,
• 2:09
Speaker 1: but again, this is 23 years ago. Question, just working
• 2:13
Speaker 1: through the substance of the email, it opens with, just
• 2:15
Speaker 1: spoke to our favorite person, Mr. Levine. Is that Philip
• 2:18
Speaker 1: Levine that you're referring to? Answer, you know, again, I
• 2:22
Speaker 1: just don't remember the email, so I don't know, possibly, sure. Question,
• 2:25
Speaker 1: who is Mr. Levine? Answer, Philip Levine is the president
• 2:28
Speaker 1: of Or a friend of President Clinton's? Was he your
• 2:32
Speaker 1: friend as well? We became friends, yeah. When did you
• 2:36
Speaker 1: become friends with Mr. Levine? I don't recall specifically when
• 2:41
Speaker 1: we became friends. Do you know who introduced you to Mr. Levine?
• 2:45
Speaker 1: I don't remember. Can you characterize your relationship with Mr. Levine?
• 2:51
Speaker 1: Socially friends. And how long did you have a relationship
• 2:55
Speaker 1: with Mr. Levine? I don't remember specifically. He was again
• 2:59
Speaker 1: a friend of the president's and important to him, and
• 3:02
Speaker 1: we were friends. We became friends as well. And by socially, question,
• 3:08
Speaker 1: what does that mean? You attended functions together? You saw
• 3:11
Speaker 1: each other purely at work-type events? What does socially friends
• 3:14
Speaker 1: mean to you? Answer, yeah, I mean, I was a young, single,
• 3:18
Speaker 1: unmarried guy in New York in my late 20s when
• 3:21
Speaker 1: President Clinton left the White House, and I was friends
• 3:23
Speaker 1: with Philip. Question, can you approximate when your relationship with
• 3:27
Speaker 1: Philip Levine started? Answer, I'm sorry, I just don't remember when. Question, well,
• 3:32
Speaker 1: this is you emailing about saying our favorite person, Mr. Levine.
• 3:36
Speaker 1: So would you say that he was a close friend
• 3:37
Speaker 1: at the time of the email? Answer, you know, again,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: I would characterize him as a friend. As I said
• 3:44
Speaker 1: about these emails, they were, you know, written a long
• 3:47
Speaker 1: time ago. Flirtatious, joking, messing around, silly emails. So I
• 3:50
Speaker 1: don't remember. Question, the reason I ask is that we
• 3:54
Speaker 1: heard testimony that Philip Levine... has sexually assaulted victims of
• 3:58
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein around the time of the early 2000s. Do
• 4:01
Speaker 1: you have any knowledge of Mr. Levine committing these acts?
• 4:05
Speaker 1: Did you ever hear a conversation with Mr. Levine about
• 4:07
Speaker 1: him sexually assaulting women? Answer, no, absolutely not. Question, do
• 4:12
Speaker 1: you have any knowledge at any time that Mr. Levine
• 4:14
Speaker 1: was in sexual contact with a woman or young girl
• 4:17
Speaker 1: associated with Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Question,
• 4:21
Speaker 1: so you never had a conversation with Mr. Levine about
• 4:24
Speaker 1: any woman associated To Ms. Maxwell or Epstein? Answer, not
• 4:28
Speaker 1: that I recall. Question, working through this email, it seems
• 4:32
Speaker 1: that you and Mr. Levine were going to try to
• 4:34
Speaker 1: do a lunch Tuesday or Wednesday. Did that lunch ever
• 4:38
Speaker 1: occur around this date? Answer, I have no idea. I
• 4:40
Speaker 1: don't remember the email. Question, moving on. It seems that you, Mr. Levine,
• 4:46
Speaker 1: were fretting over your women troubles. Do you recall the
• 4:48
Speaker 1: nature of the conversation with Mr. Levine? What were the
• 4:52
Speaker 1: women troubles? Answer, no, I don't. Question you state that
• 4:55
Speaker 1: this is you're trying to set up a lunch prior
• 4:58
Speaker 1: to a dinner. This is a dinner that supposedly happened
• 5:01
Speaker 1: on April 15th, 2003 at Jeffrey Epstein's New York Manhattan townhome.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: Did you attend that dinner? Answer as I said earlier,
• 5:09
Speaker 1: the only time I remember attending a dinner at his
• 5:12
Speaker 1: house was with a large number of people. Originally, I
• 5:15
Speaker 1: was going to staff President Clinton and he decided not
• 5:18
Speaker 1: to go to the dinner and I went and attended
• 5:20
Speaker 1: the dinner. Question who attended the dinner? Answer, I don't
• 5:23
Speaker 1: remember specifically who attended the dinner. Question, you don't recall
• 5:27
Speaker 1: any single person by name attending the dinner? Answer again,
• 5:30
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. As I said, we just attended so many
• 5:34
Speaker 1: dinners over so many years. And this was, you know,
• 5:36
Speaker 1: almost two and a half decades ago. So I don't
• 5:38
Speaker 1: remember specifically who was there. Question, I'm just going to
• 5:42
Speaker 1: run through this list and see if it refreshes your
• 5:45
Speaker 1: memory on who attended the dinner. Glenn Maxwell. Answer, possibly.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: I mean, I just don't remember. Question, did Jeffrey Epstein
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: attend the dinner? Answer, I don't know. I don't recall
• 5:54
Speaker 1: him being there or not, but it was at his house,
• 5:57
Speaker 1: so I assume so. Question, was Frederick Fokai attending the dinner? Answer,
• 6:01
Speaker 1: I don't remember. Tom Pritzker? I don't recall. Question, Philip Levine? Answer,
• 6:07
Speaker 1: I don't recall. Question, Sergey Brin? Answer, I don't recall. Question,
• 6:11
Speaker 1: Leon Black? Answer, I don't recall. Question, Lauren Stroll? Answer, same. Emma,
• 6:17
Speaker 1: can you speak up? Band, I'm sorry. I don't recall.
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: Same answer. I don't recall. Jess Daly, I don't recall.
• 6:23
  Speaker 1: John Brockman, I don't recall. David Blaine, I don't recall.
• 6:27
Speaker 1: Mort Zuckerman, I don't recall. Peter Mandelson, I don't recall. Question,
• 6:32
Speaker 1: did any member of the Clinton family attend this dinner? Answer,
• 6:34
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question in this email, it seems
• 6:38
Speaker 1: that you're talking about a Brenda. Who is the Brenda
• 6:41
Speaker 1: that you're referring to? Answer, you know, again, I don't
• 6:45
Speaker 1: recall the email, so I don't know. I dated somebody
• 6:48
Speaker 1: named Brenda. Question, and who was that? Answer, a woman
• 6:51
Speaker 1: named Brenda Shad. Question, did Miss Shad have any relationship
• 6:55
Speaker 1: or association with Mr. Epstein or Maxwell? Answer, not that
• 6:58
Speaker 1: I know of. Question, you go on to say that,
• 7:01
Speaker 1: speak for this, he, meaning Mr. Levine, is bringing the
• 7:04
Speaker 1: Brit to J.E.'s. Who was the Brit that Mr. Levine
• 7:08
Speaker 1: was transporting? Answer, I have no idea. I don't remember. Question,
• 7:12
Speaker 1: were there any young women or girls present at the dinner? Answer,
• 7:15
Speaker 1: I don't recall. Question, I'll report to you that there
• 7:18
Speaker 1: is an email exchange between you and Ms. Maxwell where
• 7:21
Speaker 1: she states to you that you should know that the
• 7:23
Speaker 1: people who are going to be serving along with the
• 7:26
Speaker 1: staff are five models. Did any female models attend the dinner? Answer,
• 7:31
Speaker 1: I don't remember whether they did or didn't. Question, you
• 7:33
Speaker 1: don't recall if there was ever any women or young
• 7:35
Speaker 1: girls attending the dinner? Answer, no, sir, I do not. Question, finally,
• 7:40
Speaker 1: just one last part of that email. It seems that
• 7:42
Speaker 1: you're talking about talking to Ms. Maxwell saying, we figured
• 7:46
Speaker 1: you would come. maybe a late night burger fest again.
• 7:49
Speaker 1: What does burger fest mean? Answer, I have no idea.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: I mean, as I sit here today, I'd like to
• 7:55
Speaker 1: go to Mellon's on the Upper East Side in New York.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: It's open very, very late. It's one of the only places,
• 8:01
Speaker 1: so it possibly could have been that, but I don't
• 8:03
Speaker 1: remember anything. I don't remember this email or anything about it. Question, Ms.
• 8:07
Speaker 1: Maxwell replies saying how happy she is contemplating how lucky
• 8:11
Speaker 1: she is being with her two favorite men. Why would Ms.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: Maxwell consider you one of her favorite men at the time? Answer,
• 8:17
Speaker 1: I have no idea. Mr. Emmer, question Mr. Band. During
• 8:21
Speaker 1: your opening, you testified to not going to Mr. Epstein's Island.
• 8:24
Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer, yes. Question, did you ever visit
• 8:27
Speaker 1: the Palm Beach home? Answer, no, not that I recall. Question,
• 8:31
Speaker 1: did you ever visit the New Mexico ranch? Answer, no,
• 8:34
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, what about his apartment in Paris? No. Question,
• 8:40
Speaker 1: and you testified you had been to the Manhattan home.
• 8:42
Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer, yes. Question, what do you remember
• 8:46
Speaker 1: from your visit to the property? Answer, yeah, as I said,
• 8:50
Speaker 1: those two instances are all that I recall. Once when
• 8:52
Speaker 1: staffing President Clinton and the other was for dinner. Question,
• 8:56
Speaker 1: and it's been reported and we have seen from the
• 8:59
Speaker 1: files released by the Department of Justice that Mr. Epstein
• 9:02
Speaker 1: decorated his home with odd and unusual weird artwork. Do
• 9:06
Speaker 1: you have any recollection of seeing anything that you thought
• 9:09
Speaker 1: was unusual on his property? Answer, I've seen those reports
• 9:13
Speaker 1: as well. I do not. I recall when I staffed
• 9:15
Speaker 1: the president there, I went in the door and sat
• 9:18
Speaker 1: in the front sort of waiting area, the foyer, whatever
• 9:21
Speaker 1: you want to call it, and didn't go into the
• 9:23
Speaker 1: house or go on a tour. I don't recall seeing anything. Question,
• 9:27
Speaker 1: you didn't see nude paintings or photography? Answer, not that
• 9:30
Speaker 1: I recall, no. Question, did you see cameras in the property? Answer, no,
• 9:34
Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, there's a weird photo that
• 9:38
Speaker 1: portrays your former boss wearing a dress. Did you see
• 9:40
Speaker 1: that photo or painting while you were on the property? Answer,
• 9:44
Speaker 1: I don't recall seeing the photo. I've seen it in
• 9:46
Speaker 1: print subsequently. Question by Mr. Harness. But you weren't aware
• 9:51
Speaker 1: of that painting existing during the time of knowing Mr.
• 9:53
Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell? Answer, no, not that I recall. Mr.
• 9:57
Speaker 1: Grant asking the question. Mr. Bandt. did Ghislaine Maxwell or
• 10:01
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein ever inform you that they were working with
• 10:03
Speaker 1: any intelligence service of any nation, including the United States? Mr. Band, no. Grant,
• 10:10
Speaker 1: during your relationship or time knowing Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell,
• 10:15
Speaker 1: did you ever suspect Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell of
• 10:18
Speaker 1: being affiliated with with an intelligence agency? Mr. Band, not
• 10:22
Speaker 1: that I recall. Mr. Harness, we'll go off the record,
• 10:26
Speaker 1: and now they're back on. Question, good morning, Mr. Band. Answer,
• 10:30
Speaker 1: good morning. Question, my name is Redacted, and my colleagues
• 10:33
Speaker 1: Redacted and Redacted and I will be conducting the questioning
• 10:36
Speaker 1: for the minority. We appreciate your willingness to speak with
• 10:39
Speaker 1: us today. I have a couple of notes before we begin. First,
• 10:43
Speaker 1: some of our questions may be a little repetitive to
• 10:46
Speaker 1: those of our majority colleagues. We're going to do our
• 10:49
Speaker 1: best to keep that at a minimum. And then secondly,
• 10:52
Speaker 1: to the extent that any of our questions or your
• 10:54
Speaker 1: answers contain the names of survivors or their identifying information,
• 10:59
Speaker 1: we would ask that the majority redact that information prior
• 11:02
Speaker 1: to releasing the transcript publicly. And with that, we'll get started. Mr. Band,
• 11:06
Speaker 1: you spoke about much of this in the prior hour,
• 11:09
Speaker 1: but just so we're clear for the record, I'm going
• 11:11
Speaker 1: to ask you to set a foundational questions about Jeffrey
• 11:14
Speaker 1: Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. To your knowledge, did President Clinton
• 11:18
Speaker 1: ever engage in sexual activity with a person introduced to
• 11:21
Speaker 1: him by Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell? Answer, no. Question,
• 11:25
Speaker 1: prior to Epstein's indictment in 2006, do you have any
• 11:28
Speaker 1: first-hand knowledge of President Clinton being aware of sexual abuse
• 11:31
Speaker 1: committed by Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no. Question, prior to Epstein's
• 11:35
Speaker 1: indictment in 2006, did you have any first-hand knowledge of
• 11:39
Speaker 1: Secretary Clinton being aware of sexual abuse committed by Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
• 11:45
Speaker 1: earlier this year, President Clinton testified under oath that he
• 11:48
Speaker 1: has never visited Jeffrey Epstein's former estate on Little St.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: James Island. Mr. Band, do you have any first-hand knowledge
• 11:54
Speaker 1: to dispute President Clinton's testimony? Answer, no. Question, you discussed
• 11:59
Speaker 1: your time at the White House with my majority colleagues.
• 12:02
Speaker 1: And again, just to revisit that time, we understand that
• 12:05
Speaker 1: President Clinton, during President Clinton's time in office, Jeffrey Epstein
• 12:09
Speaker 1: visited the White House on 17 occasions, from 93 to 95.
• 12:13
Speaker 1: Did you have any role in those visits? Answer, no,
• 12:16
Speaker 1: I did not. I was in college. Question, and in
• 12:19
Speaker 1: October of 1999, toward the end of President Clinton's tenure,
• 12:23
Speaker 1: Epstein contributed $ 20, 000 to Hillary's joint fundraising account. At that time,
• 12:28
Speaker 1: were you aware of the contribution? Answer, no. Question, did
• 12:31
Speaker 1: you play any role in securing the contribution? Answer, no. Question,
• 12:36
Speaker 1: and as you discussed, President Clinton's final day in office
• 12:38
Speaker 1: was January 20th, 2001, and after that he left office.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: You continued to work for him. And again, just so
• 12:44
Speaker 1: the record's clear, in total, how long did you work
• 12:47
Speaker 1: for President Clinton? Answer, well, I was an intern in
• 12:51
Speaker 1: the fall of 95. Consider that working or not. I
• 12:54
Speaker 1: was hired on staff, I believe, in early 96 and
• 12:56
Speaker 1: left sometime in early mid-2012. Question, okay, do you remember
• 13:00
Speaker 1: the particular date when you last worked for President Clinton? Answer,
• 13:05
Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It's a good question. Sometime in the early
• 13:08
Speaker 1: to mid part of 2012. Question okay. And when was
• 13:11
Speaker 1: the last time you spoke with President Clinton? Answer, you know,
• 13:14
Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I believe it's been at least
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: a decade since I spoke with him, but I don't
• 13:18
Speaker 1: recall specifically. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up
• 13:22
Speaker 1: right here. And in the next episode, we're going to
• 13:24
Speaker 1: pick up where we left off. All the information that
• 13:27
Speaker 1: goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
• 13:30
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode of the
• 13:33
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 13:37
Speaker 1: where we left off with Doug Band. and his conversation
• 13:41
Speaker 1: with Congress. Question, and again, I know you spoke about
• 13:46
Speaker 1: this earlier, but to dive in a little bit more,
• 13:49
Speaker 1: can you explain what your role was with President Clinton
• 13:52
Speaker 1: after he left the White House? Answer, my role, when
• 13:55
Speaker 1: he left the White House, I was still finishing law school,
• 13:58
Speaker 1: so I was going to night school part-time. You know,
• 14:00
Speaker 1: working full-time to support myself, which was a lot. My
• 14:04
Speaker 1: role initially was just a continuation of what I did
• 14:08
Speaker 1: of my role as the president's aide when he was
• 14:10
Speaker 1: in the White House. Question, what were those responsibilities? Answer,
• 14:15
Speaker 1: those responsibilities were, as was said earlier, his body man.
• 14:19
Speaker 1: I traveled with him, maintained schedule, tried to keep him
• 14:22
Speaker 1: on time, giving his briefing materials. I was a staffer. Question,
• 14:27
Speaker 1: and did that role change over the course of your
• 14:29
Speaker 1: employment with President Clinton after he left the White House? Answer,
• 14:33
Speaker 1: you know, as I said earlier to the congressman, the
• 14:35
Speaker 1: staff was small, so... I think everybody jumped in and
• 14:39
Speaker 1: did whatever different roles. So my role, I think, morphed
• 14:42
Speaker 1: over time into doing more things, but inside the staff,
• 14:45
Speaker 1: inside his staff, in his office. Question, so during this time,
• 14:49
Speaker 1: after he leaves the White House, generally speaking, if somebody
• 14:52
Speaker 1: wanted to speak with President Clinton or arrange a meeting
• 14:56
Speaker 1: with him, how would that work? Answer, you know, there
• 14:59
Speaker 1: is a number of ways someone could arrange a meeting
• 15:01
Speaker 1: or speak with him. They could call him. He had
• 15:03
Speaker 1: a cell phone, his house, his office, all other staffers,
• 15:06
Speaker 1: his friends, his family. There was a number of ways
• 15:09
Speaker 1: to get in touch with him and a number of
• 15:11
Speaker 1: ways to set meetings and visit with him. Question and
• 15:14
Speaker 1: the reason I ask to go back to this Vanity
• 15:16
Speaker 1: Fair article in December of 2020. I'll represent to you
• 15:20
Speaker 1: that it says, quote, because Clinton didn't carry a cell
• 15:23
Speaker 1: phone or use email. Anyone who wanted to speak to
• 15:26
Speaker 1: Clinton had to go through Doug Band. Do you disagree
• 15:29
Speaker 1: with that characterization? Answer, I do. I mean, again, to
• 15:32
Speaker 1: the best of my recollection, he had his own cell phone.
• 15:36
Speaker 1: I don't know at what point he got it, Or
• 15:38
Speaker 1: I don't recall when he got his own cell phone,
• 15:40
Speaker 1: but there, as I said, there's a number of ways
• 15:42
Speaker 1: to get President Clinton to contact him, to reach him,
• 15:45
Speaker 1: to be in touch, to engage, to ask him things,
• 15:48
Speaker 1: all those communications. Question, is it fair to say that
• 15:52
Speaker 1: part of your role with President Clinton was to evaluate
• 15:54
Speaker 1: and assist in making a decision whether to meet with someone? Answer, well, ultimately,
• 16:00
Speaker 1: you know, the decision is his whether he wants to
• 16:03
Speaker 1: meet with somebody or not. My role in being a
• 16:05
Speaker 1: part of that process, along with a variety of other folks,
• 16:09
Speaker 1: would be more accurate, yes. Question, and would you receive
• 16:13
Speaker 1: requests from external individuals to meet with President Clinton? Answer, I,
• 16:17
Speaker 1: along with other people, did, yes. Question, Mr. Band, a
• 16:21
Speaker 1: few years after Mr. Clinton leaves the White House, the
• 16:24
Speaker 1: Clinton Global Initiative is formed, is that right? Answer, correct. Question,
• 16:29
Speaker 1: and what is the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer, the Clinton
• 16:32
Speaker 1: Global Initiative, well, it's hard to explain. I mean, it's complicated.
• 16:35
Speaker 1: A large philanthropic endeavor that now, I don't know what
• 16:39
Speaker 1: its latest iteration is, but at the time, it was
• 16:41
Speaker 1: set up sort of going back a little bit and
• 16:44
Speaker 1: trying to answer a little bit more than what you're asking.
• 16:47
Speaker 1: But President Clinton attended a lot of conferences around the world.
• 16:50
Speaker 1: And a lot of those conferences, people sat around and
• 16:53
Speaker 1: talked and self-importance and those kinds of things. Something that
• 16:56
Speaker 1: I was very passionate about was believing that we, that
• 17:00
Speaker 1: we as a country, and we as a world could
• 17:02
Speaker 1: really change the face of how people engage in philanthropic
• 17:06
Speaker 1: activity and civic service. And so I spent a lot
• 17:09
Speaker 1: of time thinking and coming up with an idea that
• 17:11
Speaker 1: would be about changing the way that philanthropy was engaged
• 17:15
Speaker 1: upon around the world, and certainly in this country, and
• 17:18
Speaker 1: where everybody could pay it forward, or give some time
• 17:21
Speaker 1: to civic engagement or public service of some kind. And
• 17:24
Speaker 1: so morphing that into an idea to create the Clinton
• 17:27
Speaker 1: Global Initiative, which was a conference that was created for
• 17:30
Speaker 1: people to come and provide concrete actions, rather than just
• 17:34
Speaker 1: sort of sitting around and talking. And so that led to,
• 17:36
Speaker 1: you know, commitments all over the world of billions and
• 17:39
Speaker 1: billions of dollars, impacting hundreds of millions of people around
• 17:43
Speaker 1: the globe. Question, and do you recall when the Clinton
• 17:46
Speaker 1: Global Initiative was formed? Answer, it was in the early
• 17:49
Speaker 1: 2000s where I had started thinking about this. I believe
• 17:52
Speaker 1: the first one was launched in 2005. I mean, that was, again,
• 17:55
Speaker 1: a long time ago. I'm not exactly sure when the
• 17:58
Speaker 1: first one was. question, and just for my benefit. What's
• 18:01
Speaker 1: the difference between the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer,
• 18:06
Speaker 1: that's a good question. The Clinton Global Initiative was its
• 18:09
Speaker 1: own separate entity, which was about the conference and bringing
• 18:12
Speaker 1: together of people to make concrete actions to do good
• 18:16
Speaker 1: around the world and engage on things. The Clinton Foundation was,
• 18:19
Speaker 1: you know, presidents have presidential foundations upon leaving office. And
• 18:24
Speaker 1: this foundation was created by him, as I said earlier,
• 18:27
Speaker 1: about going on these humanitarian trips and missions and create
• 18:31
Speaker 1: initiatives and lots of other things fell within that framework. Question,
• 18:36
Speaker 1: so I want to turn the statement to Mr. Epstein's
• 18:37
Speaker 1: lawyers that have made in correspondence, legal correspondence. So in 2007, Mr.
• 18:43
Speaker 1: Epstein's lawyers claimed that he was, quote, part of the
• 18:46
Speaker 1: original group that conceived the Clinton Global Initiative. Do you
• 18:49
Speaker 1: agree with that statement? Answer, no. Question, And Ms. Maxwell
• 18:53
Speaker 1: told the Department of Justice last July that she was, quote,
• 18:56
Speaker 1: very central to the startup of the Clinton Global Initiative.
• 18:59
Speaker 1: Is that your recollection? Answer, I have no recollection of
• 19:03
Speaker 1: her being involved whatsoever. Question, so generally speaking, you know,
• 19:07
Speaker 1: we spoke about your role with President Clinton. In particular,
• 19:11
Speaker 1: what was your role with the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer, well,
• 19:14
Speaker 1: you know, I conceived the idea. As I said, I
• 19:17
Speaker 1: thought about this for a long, long time and really
• 19:20
Speaker 1: believed that there was an opportunity and a void existed
• 19:23
Speaker 1: for creating a way for people to engage civically, and
• 19:26
Speaker 1: as I've said, give back and pay it forward, and
• 19:29
Speaker 1: engage in society. And that vision of mine translated all
• 19:33
Speaker 1: the way down to very young kids, when they would
• 19:35
Speaker 1: go to kindergarten, would start spending a day or a
• 19:37
Speaker 1: month or a day a quarter giving back in some form,
• 19:41
Speaker 1: whether that was clearing up a beach or a park
• 19:43
Speaker 1: or whatever, whatever they could do. And so the CGI
• 19:46
Speaker 1: was born out of that vision. I recall writing a
• 19:49
Speaker 1: memo to the president laying out my vision for what
• 19:51
Speaker 1: I thought this could be and him approving it moving
• 19:54
Speaker 1: forward there was you know then he hired someone who
• 19:57
Speaker 1: was a director a CEO if you will of CGI
• 20:01
Speaker 1: and production staff it was entirely massive endeavor at a
• 20:04
Speaker 1: hotel with signage and events and people it was a
• 20:07
Speaker 1: huge conference Question, and were you a paid employee of CGI? Answer,
• 20:12
  Speaker 1: I don't believe that I was. I don't remember specifically
• 20:15
Speaker 1: who paid me at the time, I mean which entity
• 20:17
Speaker 1: paid me, because there was a lot of different entities,
• 20:20
Speaker 1: but my job was in the president's office, on his staff,
• 20:23
Speaker 1: not on CGI's staff or Foundation staff. Question, and how
• 20:27
Speaker 1: did CGI operate generally? For example, how did CGI find
• 20:31
Speaker 1: and engage donors? Answer, there was an entire part of CGI,
• 20:34
Speaker 1: as far as I recall, and know, that engaged in
• 20:37
Speaker 1: finding people, and to make commitments and, you know, someone
• 20:40
Speaker 1: that had solar panels that could donate them to a
• 20:42
Speaker 1: village in Africa, or they needed to be shipped, so
• 20:45
Speaker 1: you had to find someone that was willing to donate
• 20:48
Speaker 1: the panels, someone that would ship the panels, someone that
• 20:51
Speaker 1: would install the panels. So it was a multi-led effort
• 20:54
Speaker 1: by CGI staff at the time that did all those
• 20:57
Speaker 1: kinds of things. Question, and do you know how Jeffrey
• 21:00
Speaker 1: Epstein and Glenn Maxwell became engaged with CGI? Answer, I
• 21:05
Speaker 1: do not recall how they became involved in CGI. if
• 21:08
Speaker 1: they were. Question, do you recall having any conversation with
• 21:11
Speaker 1: either of them about CGI? Answer, I don't recall having
• 21:15
Speaker 1: conversations with either about CGI. Question, and we'll get into
• 21:19
Speaker 1: the flights a bit later. But there were several trips,
• 21:22
Speaker 1: as you spoke about earlier, where President Clinton flew on
• 21:25
Speaker 1: Epstein's plane to various places across the world for humanitarian reasons.
• 21:30
Speaker 1: Was that through the Clinton Foundation? Answer, I believe so.
• 21:33
Speaker 1: When you say through the Foundation... To the best of
• 21:35
Speaker 1: my recollection, he was traveling to a lot of trips where,
• 21:38
Speaker 1: you know, they were complex. There was a lot of
• 21:41
Speaker 1: different things going on during the trip. Speeches, meetings, coffees,
• 21:45
Speaker 1: old friends, world leaders, humanitarian efforts. There were a lot
• 21:49
Speaker 1: of things going on. So I don't want to characterize
• 21:52
Speaker 1: it as just one thing, but for the most part, yes,
• 21:55
Speaker 1: under the rubric of the Clinton Foundation. Question, and shifting
• 21:59
Speaker 1: gears a little bit, I know there's some ambiguity when
• 22:02
Speaker 1: you first met Glenn Maxwell. But when did you first
• 22:05
Speaker 1: meet Ghislaine Maxwell? Was it your understanding that she was
• 22:07
Speaker 1: in a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein? A romantic relationship? Answer.
• 22:12
Speaker 1: I don't recall having a view on that at all. Question.
• 22:15
Speaker 1: You didn't have a view on that or you didn't
• 22:16
Speaker 1: know about it? Answer. Neither. I don't know. Question. Did
• 22:20
Speaker 1: you ever gain an understanding that Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine
• 22:22
Speaker 1: Maxwell were in a romantic relationship? Answer. Not that I recall.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: Question from Redacted. Mr. Band. I'm going to walk through
• 22:31
Speaker 1: some specific interactions between Clinton and Epstein and Maxwell, but first,
• 22:37
Speaker 1: I would like to just clarify something from the previous hour.
• 22:40
Speaker 1: You said that President Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein appeared to
• 22:43
Speaker 1: be friends. Is that correct? Answer, yes. Question, but you
• 22:47
Speaker 1: also said that you were never present during any conversation
• 22:50
Speaker 1: between President Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein. Answer, I believe I
• 22:54
Speaker 1: said I don't recall any conversations. Question, so what made
• 22:58
Speaker 1: you think that the two of them were friends? Answer,
• 23:01
Speaker 1: that's a good question. By virtue of the time they
• 23:04
Speaker 1: spent together, that was just my perception that I have today,
• 23:08
Speaker 1: that I recall thinking that they were friends. I don't
• 23:11
Speaker 1: know what the specifics of that are, but I just
• 23:13
Speaker 1: remember that. Question, is it true that most of the
• 23:17
Speaker 1: time they spent together, though, was these humanitarian trips or
• 23:21
  Speaker 1: other business-related meetings? Answer, I don't know. I think it's
• 23:24
Speaker 1: probably a better question for him. I don't think so.
• 23:28
Speaker 1: I think they spent time together. I think that was
• 23:30
Speaker 1: the majority of the time they spent together. Question, thank you.
• 23:35
Speaker 1: I would like to mark as minority exhibit A. This
• 23:38
Speaker 1: is an email from Maxwell to WJC email that we
• 23:41
Speaker 1: discussed in the previous hour. It's dated February 6, 2002.
• 23:45
Speaker 1: I'll give you a moment to read through that. And
• 23:48
Speaker 1: I believe in the majority's hour, they established that WJC
• 23:52
Speaker 1: email was you at the time. Is that correct? Answer,
• 23:55
Speaker 1: as far as I can recall, yes. Question, do you
• 23:57
Speaker 1: remember receiving this email from Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I do not. Question,
• 24:02
Speaker 1: do you recall a party in Miami that she's referring to? Answer,
• 24:06
Speaker 1: I don't recall a party in Miami that she's referring to. Question,
• 24:10
Speaker 1: so you never went to a party in Miami with
• 24:12
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I didn't say that I never went
• 24:15
Speaker 1: to the party. I just said I don't recall. Redacted
• 24:18
Speaker 1: did go to a party in Miami with Glenn Maxwell. Banned,
• 24:21
  Speaker 1: as I said, I don't recall going to a party
• 24:24
  Speaker 1: in Miami. It doesn't mean I didn't go. It doesn't
• 24:27
Speaker 1: mean I did go. I just don't remember it. Question,
• 24:30
Speaker 1: no recollection of going to a party. What about President Clinton?
• 24:34
Speaker 1: Do you ever recall him going to a party in
• 24:35
Speaker 1: Miami with Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I do not. Question, okay.
• 24:42
Speaker 1: And then later in the email, she talks about Epstein.
• 24:44
Speaker 1: She says, J.E. coming to pick us up on the plane.
• 24:47
Speaker 1: Do you recall anything about this being picked up on
• 24:49
Speaker 1: a plane in Miami by Epstein? Answer, I do not
• 24:52
Speaker 1: recall that, no. All right, folks, we're going to wrap
• 24:54
Speaker 1: up right here. And in the next episode dealing with
• 24:56
Speaker 1: the topic, we're going to pick up where we left off.
• 24:59
Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
• 25:02
Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up everyone and welcome
• 25:06
Speaker 1: to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode,
• 25:10
Speaker 1: we're picking up where we left off with the Doug
• 25:12
Speaker 1: Band testimony given to Congress. Question okay. And then in 2002,
• 25:18
Speaker 1: I believe in the majority's hour, they briefly discussed this
• 25:21
Speaker 1: visit to Epstein's townhouse with President Clinton and you said
• 25:24
Speaker 1: you attended. Is that correct? Answer yes. Question okay. did
• 25:28
Speaker 1: you organize this visit? Answer, I don't recall organizing it. Question,
• 25:33
Speaker 1: do you remember how it came about? Answer, I do not. Question,
• 25:36
Speaker 1: and at the visit, do you remember who else was
• 25:38
Speaker 1: at Epstein's home? Answer, I don't remember anyone else being there. Question,
• 25:43
Speaker 1: but Epstein was there himself. Answer, yes. Question, so Epstein,
• 25:48
Speaker 1: President Clinton, and yourself. Answer, well, as I said, to
• 25:53
Speaker 1: the best of my recollection, is walking to the house,
• 25:55
Speaker 1: I stayed, walked in a few feet, stayed in the
• 25:58
Speaker 1: front entryway, foyer, whatever you want to call it, holding room,
• 26:01
Speaker 1: and the two of them went off into the house. Question,
• 26:04
Speaker 1: so you didn't see anyone else inside the home? Answer,
• 26:07
Speaker 1: I don't recall seeing anyone else in the home, no. Question, okay,
• 26:11
Speaker 1: and then in 2002 as well, there was a meeting
• 26:14
Speaker 1: at President Clinton's office in Harlem. Did you organize this? Answer, sorry,
• 26:18
Speaker 1: when is that? Question, it was 2002. There was a
• 26:22
Speaker 1: meeting at President Clinton's office in Harlem with Epstein. Answer,
• 26:26
Speaker 1: I don't remember that meeting at all. Question, were you
• 26:28
Speaker 1: present at that meeting? Answer, I don't remember whether I
• 26:32
Speaker 1: was present or not. Question, okay. It's also our understanding
• 26:35
Speaker 1: that Ghislaine Maxwell compiled a birthday book for Epstein for
• 26:38
Speaker 1: his 50th birthday and that the book had letters and
• 26:41
Speaker 1: notes from various friends and associates of Epstein's. President Clinton
• 26:46
Speaker 1: wrote a letter for that book. Do you recall that letter?
• 26:48
Speaker 1: Have you seen that letter? Answer, I do not recall
• 26:51
Speaker 1: that letter. Subsequently, again, I've obviously given the press reports.
• 26:55
Speaker 1: of recent years, is one I learned of the book
• 26:58
Speaker 1: you're referring to, but I don't recall having any involvement
• 27:01
Speaker 1: or anything to do with it, or even knowing it
• 27:03
Speaker 1: existed or what was being done at the time. Question,
• 27:06
Speaker 1: so Ms. Maxwell did not reach out to you about
• 27:08
Speaker 1: the letter? Answer, not that I recall, no. Question, and
• 27:12
Speaker 1: you weren't asked to write a letter for the book? Answer, no,
• 27:15
Speaker 1: not that I recall, no. Question, okay. Last year, Ghislaine
• 27:18
Speaker 1: Maxwell was interviewed by then Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch.
• 27:23
Speaker 1: And during the interview, Maxwell said that she visited the
• 27:25
Speaker 1: Clintons' home in Chappaqua a couple times. Do you have
• 27:29
Speaker 1: any memory or knowledge of Maxwell visiting the Clintons' home? Answer,
• 27:33
Speaker 1: I do not. I have seen that interview. I believe
• 27:35
  Speaker 1: that's talking about 2016, 17, 18, something like that, right?
• 27:40
  Speaker 1: As I said, I left the president's employee in 2012.
• 27:43
Speaker 1: I have no idea about any of that and nothing
• 27:46
Speaker 1: to do with it. Question, so you never spoke to
• 27:49
Speaker 1: anyone in the Clinton family about these visits? Answer, no.
• 27:52
Speaker 1: Not that I recall, no. Redacted, are you aware of
• 27:56
Speaker 1: any other visits prior to 2016? Mr. Band, I am not, no. Question, okay.
• 28:01
Speaker 1: We're going to shift gears a little bit and talk
• 28:04
Speaker 1: about some of the flights that you took on Epstein's
• 28:06
Speaker 1: plane with President Clinton. We're going to briefly walk through those,
• 28:10
Speaker 1: but before, I would just like to clarify in the
• 28:12
Speaker 1: previous hour, you said that Secret Service would always accompany
• 28:15
Speaker 1: President Clinton on the flights. Is that correct? Answer, yes. Question,
• 28:20
Speaker 1: and he was always there on the flights on Epstein's plane,
• 28:22
Speaker 1: is that correct? Secret Service was always there? Answer, Secret
• 28:26
Speaker 1: Service is always with President Clinton everywhere he goes, no
• 28:30
Speaker 1: matter what, yes. Question, thank you. Flight logs indicate that
• 28:34
Speaker 1: on March 19th and 21st of 2002, you flew on
• 28:38
Speaker 1: Epstein's plane from JFK to London and back. This is
• 28:41
Speaker 1: with Epstein, Maxwell, President Clinton, and some others. What was
• 28:45
Speaker 1: the purpose of that trip? Answer, I don't recall or
• 28:48
Speaker 1: remember that trip at all. Question, you don't remember anything
• 28:51
Speaker 1: about the trip? Answer, no. Question, you don't remember how
• 28:54
Speaker 1: the trip came about? Answer, I don't. Question, was this
• 28:57
Speaker 1: the first time that you flew on Epstein's plane? Answer,
• 29:00
Speaker 1: I have no idea. As I said, we traveled often,
• 29:03
Speaker 1: so it's difficult 25 years later, 24 years later, to
• 29:06
Speaker 1: remember specific trips. Question, do you know whether this was
• 29:11
Speaker 1: the first time that President Clinton flew on Epstein's plane? Answer,
• 29:15
Speaker 1: I don't. Question, okay. And you don't remember anyone else
• 29:18
Speaker 1: being on the trip. Answer, I don't remember the trip
• 29:21
Speaker 1: at all, so no. I don't remember anyone else being
• 29:23
Speaker 1: on the trip. Question, okay. Couple months later, in May
• 29:27
Speaker 1: of 2002, flight logs show a series of flights in Asia.
• 29:31
Speaker 1: This was also with Mr. Epstein, Maxwell, and President Clinton.
• 29:35
Speaker 1: What do you recall from this trip? Answer, I don't
• 29:37
Speaker 1: recall the trip at all, or anything from the trip. Question,
• 29:41
Speaker 1: you don't remember being in Asia? Answer, you know again,
• 29:44
Speaker 1: I understand the question and the idea that someone would
• 29:47
Speaker 1: remember going to Asia. I've been to Asia many, many
• 29:49
Speaker 1: times and I staffed President Clinton in Asia many times.
• 29:54
Speaker 1: So I don't remember any specific trips or another or
• 29:57
Speaker 1: anything from those trips really. Question understood. Is there a specific,
• 30:02
Speaker 1: anything specific you remember from being on Epstein's plane, whether
• 30:05
Speaker 1: it was this specific trip or other trips? Answer, you know,
• 30:09
Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I just remember that the guest
• 30:11
Speaker 1: sat in the front and that that was just where
• 30:14
Speaker 1: I sat and hung out and went about my work
• 30:16
Speaker 1: and business. But no, I don't remember anything remarkable about
• 30:20
Speaker 1: the trip at all or the plane at all. Question,
• 30:23
Speaker 1: do you remember any specific interaction you had on the plane,
• 30:26
Speaker 1: whether that was with Maxwell, Epstein? Any of his staffers, pilots,
• 30:30
Speaker 1: anything like that? Answer, no, I don't recall any of that. Question, okay,
• 30:35
Speaker 1: there was another trip. This was to Morocco and Portugal.
• 30:39
Speaker 1: And public reporting indicated that it was for the King
• 30:42
Speaker 1: of Morocco's wedding. Do you recall that wedding? Answer, I
• 30:45
Speaker 1: vaguely recall the wedding itself, yes. Question, and you attended
• 30:48
Speaker 1: the wedding? Answer, President Clinton attended the wedding. Question, did
• 30:52
Speaker 1: you attend the wedding? Answer, I remember staffing him for
• 30:55
Speaker 1: the wedding, yes. Question, so you were there? Answer, but
• 30:58
Speaker 1: I was not in. I wasn't an invited guest by
• 31:00
Speaker 1: the King of Morocco to his wedding. Question understood. And
• 31:04
Speaker 1: Epstein attended the wedding. Is that correct? Answer, you know, again,
• 31:07
Speaker 1: I don't remember at the time what transpired other than
• 31:11
Speaker 1: seeing the public reporting recently. So my memory of that
• 31:14
Speaker 1: is I don't have memory of that. Obviously, having seen
• 31:17
Speaker 1: the reporting of it. Question, do you recall why you
• 31:20
Speaker 1: used Epstein's plane to travel to the wedding? Answer, I
• 31:23
Speaker 1: don't recall why President Clinton used Epstein's plane to travel
• 31:26
Speaker 1: to the wedding. question understood then there's the trip to
• 31:29
Speaker 1: Africa in September of 2002 it's reported on highly and
• 31:33
Speaker 1: I think has become rather infamous is there any specific
• 31:37
Speaker 1: information that you remember about that trip answer I don't
• 31:40
Speaker 1: remember anything specific I remember the president taking along and
• 31:43
Speaker 1: inviting his guests were Chris Tucker and Kevin Spacey I
• 31:47
Speaker 1: remember that being around this but again my memory is
• 31:50
Speaker 1: from seeing pictures of that in recent years or before
• 31:53
Speaker 1: but I don't remember anything about the trip Question. There
• 31:56
Speaker 1: is a well-known photo from this trip of what looks
• 31:59
Speaker 1: to be President Clinton getting a back massage from a
• 32:01
Speaker 1: young woman. Is there anything you remember about that instance?
• 32:04
Speaker 1: Answer no. Question. Do you remember meeting this young woman?
• 32:07
Speaker 1: Answer no. Question. And you have no knowledge of what
• 32:10
Speaker 1: her relationship was to Mr. Epstein? Answer no. Question. And
• 32:14
Speaker 1: you had no knowledge at the time that she was
• 32:16
Speaker 1: being abused by Mr. Epstein? Answer no. Question, and finally
• 32:20
Speaker 1: in November of 2003, there was a trip to Russia
• 32:23
Speaker 1: and China. Is there anything you remember from that trip? Answer, no,
• 32:26
Speaker 1: I do not. Question, thank you. Redacted, question, Mr. Band.
• 32:31
Speaker 1: We have some emails and related documents that we would
• 32:33
Speaker 1: like to show you in hopes that you can provide
• 32:35
Speaker 1: some context for us. I'm going to begin with one
• 32:38
Speaker 1: dated October 13th of 2002 from GMAX to WJC email address.
• 32:45
Speaker 1: It's Bates numbered EFTA 005 82156. This will be Minority
• 32:51
Speaker 1: Exhibit B. Mr. Band, do you recall the email? Answer, no,
• 32:54
Speaker 1: I do not. Question, okay. If I could direct you
• 32:57
Speaker 1: to the second sentence, which reads, this is Ms. Maxwell
• 33:00
Speaker 1: writing to you, as we understand. Want to make sure
• 33:03
Speaker 1: that you know that lunch is on Wednesday. Is at
• 33:06
Speaker 1: Bear Mini, me, you, JE plus 42. Do you have
• 33:11
Speaker 1: the time for the address? Do you recall having lunch
• 33:13
Speaker 1: at an establishment called Bear Mini with Mr. Epstein? Answer, no,
• 33:17
Speaker 1: I do not. Question, and your understanding is, plus 42,
• 33:21
Speaker 1: is a sentence referring to President Clinton? Answer again, I
• 33:25
Speaker 1: don't remember the email or whether this happened or not.
• 33:28
Speaker 1: 42 was how people referred to him, yes. He was
• 33:31
Speaker 1: the 42nd President of the United States. And question, and
• 33:35
Speaker 1: if I could refer to you, the following sentence, which reads,
• 33:38
Speaker 1: need your schedule to organize your B-Day gift. Need to
• 33:41
Speaker 1: know dates from now till end of October when you're
• 33:43
Speaker 1: in the city and available for two hours, can be
• 33:46
Speaker 1: day or night. I need rough times because we just
• 33:49
Speaker 1: fill in the gaps. Did Ms. Maxwell give you a
• 33:51
Speaker 1: birthday gift? Answer, not that I recall. Question, then the
• 33:55
Speaker 1: phrase at the end of the sentence. We just fill
• 33:58
Speaker 1: in the gap. Do you have any understanding to what
• 34:00
Speaker 1: she was referring to there? Answer, I have no idea
• 34:03
Speaker 1: what she's referring to. Question, no more questions on this exhibit.
• 34:08
Speaker 1: I will ask a court reporter to mark Exhibit C,
• 34:10
Speaker 1: an article from New York Magazine, entitled The Dish on Dinner,
• 34:14
Speaker 1: dated April 25, 2003. Redacted, and while this is being
• 34:18
Speaker 1: handed out, I understand that the members, or new members,
• 34:21
Speaker 1: have entered the room. Eric Burleson, Lauren Boebert, and Dan,
• 34:25
Speaker 1: for the record, Mr. Perry, was also present, but he
• 34:28
Speaker 1: stepped out. Redacted, and where we're looking at, it's on
• 34:32
Speaker 1: the second page. Question, and to be clear, I'm looking
• 34:35
Speaker 1: at the paragraph that's captioned, Do you see that? Answer, uh-huh. Question,
• 34:41
Speaker 1: and then two lines down below, there's a guest list
• 34:44
Speaker 1: consisting of Mort Zuckerman, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, David Blaine,
• 34:48
Speaker 1: Donald Trump, Leslie Wexner of the Limited, disgraced British cabinet
• 34:52
Speaker 1: minister Peter Mandelson, Bill Clinton, a Doug Band. Do you
• 34:56
Speaker 1: recall being at the event with those attendees? Answer, you know,
• 35:00
Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I recall attending a dinner at
• 35:03
Speaker 1: Epstein's house when President Clinton was also to attend the dinner.
• 35:07
Speaker 1: And while I was there waiting for him, he decided
• 35:09
Speaker 1: not to come. So I went to the dinner and instead,
• 35:13
Speaker 1: I don't remember anything from the dinner, anything at all. Question,
• 35:16
Speaker 1: do you remember any of these listed individuals being present? Answer, no,
• 35:20
Speaker 1: I do not. Question, have you ever met any of
• 35:22
Speaker 1: these individuals? Answer, I've met a few of them. Question,
• 35:25
Speaker 1: can you identify which ones? Answer, I met Mort Zuckerman,
• 35:29
Speaker 1: Sergey Brin. I met Shaq and Donald Trump. Trump's hand
• 35:33
Speaker 1: at his golf course. I vaguely recall meeting Peter Mandelson
• 35:36
Speaker 1: when he worked for Prime Minister Blair. He was good
• 35:38
Speaker 1: friends with President Clinton. I guess you probably know a long,
• 35:41
Speaker 1: long time ago when Prime Minister Blair was still Prime Minister. Question,
• 35:45
Speaker 1: were you introduced to any of these individuals through Jeffrey
• 35:48
Speaker 1: Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer, no, I don't think so. Question,
• 35:53
Speaker 1: and did you ever become aware of any of these
• 35:55
Speaker 1: individuals having a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no, not
• 35:59
Speaker 1: that I can recall or know of. Question, if I
• 36:02
Speaker 1: could refer you further down in the paragraph to the
• 36:04
Speaker 1: sentence that begins, at a recent dinner, do you see that?
• 36:08
Speaker 1: For the record, the sentence reads, at a recent dinner
• 36:10
Speaker 1: organized by Glenn Maxwell. Blaine amused a group of barely
• 36:14
Speaker 1: clad models with card tricks. Alas, Clinton, around whom the
• 36:18
Speaker 1: evening had been organized, never showed, though his Secret Service
• 36:21
Speaker 1: would have appreciated Epstein's numerous security cameras. So my first
• 36:25
Speaker 1: question is, do you recall barely clad models being present
• 36:28
Speaker 1: for the dinner? Answer, no, I do not. Question, do
• 36:31
Speaker 1: you recall models of any variety being present at any
• 36:34
Speaker 1: of your interactions with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no, I do
• 36:37
Speaker 1: not recall models being present. Question, does it surprise you
• 36:41
Speaker 1: to read that there were barely clad models reportedly in
• 36:44
Speaker 1: attendance at this event? Answer, well, I didn't write this.
• 36:49
Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm just giving you the best recollection
• 36:51
Speaker 1: of what I remember, what I recall. Question, nothing further
• 36:54
Speaker 1: on this exhibit. All right, folks, we're going to wrap
• 36:58
Speaker 1: up right here. And in the next episode dealing with
• 37:00
Speaker 1: the topic, we're going to pick up where we left off.
• 37:03
Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
• 37:05
Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome
• 37:09
Speaker 1: to another episode of of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode,
• 37:13
Speaker 1: we're going to pick up where we left off with
• 37:15
Speaker 1: Doug Band and his interview with Congress. Question, Mr. Band,
• 37:20
Speaker 1: do you recall this email thread? Answer, no, I do not. Question,
• 37:24
Speaker 1: if I could start at the bottom with the first one,
• 37:27
Speaker 1: it's an email from Ms. Maxwell to you. The subject
• 37:30
Speaker 1: line reads, boo-boo, one word, and the text reads, I'm
• 37:33
Speaker 1: here in New York, would love to get together. J.E.
• 37:36
Speaker 1: did not leave for Paris, so he's here too, and
• 37:38
Speaker 1: he wants to see you solo. So popular you are.
• 37:41
Speaker 1: Let me know. Looking at this email now, do you
• 37:44
Speaker 1: have any understanding or recollection as to why Mr. Epstein
• 37:47
Speaker 1: wanted to see you solo? Not that I recall. Question,
• 37:51
Speaker 1: and then I'm going to skip up two emails. It's
• 37:53
Speaker 1: email from Ms. Maxwell to you at 105618. Do you
• 37:57
Speaker 1: see that one? Answer, uh-huh, yes. Question, the body reads,
• 38:00
Speaker 1: I have no plans today at all, so I'm free
• 38:03
Speaker 1: whenever you are. Should be here most of the week.
• 38:05
Speaker 1: The thought of seeing you is getting me way, way excited.
• 38:09
Speaker 1: And then your reply up above, wow, can't do today,
• 38:12
Speaker 1: in C-H-A-P-P, baby cakes. My question on this exchange is simply,
• 38:19
Speaker 1: you referred during the majority round to the use of
• 38:22
Speaker 1: what you described, I believe, as flirtatious banter with Ms. Maxwell. Answer, uh-huh. Question,
• 38:27
Speaker 1: is this an example of that sort of banter? Answer, well,
• 38:30
Speaker 1: I don't remember this email or recall it in any way,
• 38:34
Speaker 1: but yeah, as I said earlier, Our emails were flirtatious banter.
• 38:38
Speaker 1: Nothing more. Me making my way of communicating in sort
• 38:41
Speaker 1: of a silly, not funny jokes that, obviously, not ones
• 38:45
Speaker 1: I expected to be read publicly before Congress 25 years
• 38:48
Speaker 1: later or 22 years later. Question, nothing further on this exhibit.
• 38:53
Speaker 1: I will ask the court reporter to mark as Exhibit
• 38:56
Speaker 1: E what we understand to be a log of flights
• 38:59
Speaker 1: on Jeffrey Epstein's private plane. Redacted, that's not the right one. Question,
• 39:08
Speaker 1: after they get the right one, Mr. Band, have you
• 39:10
Speaker 1: ever seen this document before? Mr. Shapiro jumps in, other
• 39:15
Speaker 1: than in preparation with your counsel, you mean? Redacted either, Mr. Band.
• 39:19
Speaker 1: I've only seen it, as Howard said, in preparation. Question,
• 39:22
Speaker 1: if I could refer you 10 lines down, the date,
• 39:25
Speaker 1: the number, 14, appears in the first column. Do you
• 39:28
Speaker 1: see that entry? Answer, yes. Question, okay. And the arrival
• 39:31
Speaker 1: destination is noted as CYUL, which I'll represent to you
• 39:36
Speaker 1: is the airport code for Montreal. And then further down
• 39:40
Speaker 1: under the column, four remarks, the letters JE appear followed
• 39:43
Speaker 1: by your name, comma, then GM. Do you recall flying
• 39:47
Speaker 1: to Montreal with Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell? Answer, I
• 39:50
Speaker 1: do not recall, no. Question, do you recall being in
• 39:53
Speaker 1: Montreal with them? Answer, I don't recall being in Montreal
• 39:57
Speaker 1: with them, no. Question, any reason to believe that this
• 40:00
Speaker 1: entry is inaccurate as to the passengers? Answer, I don't
• 40:04
Speaker 1: have any reason to believe that it's accurate or inaccurate.
• 40:07
  Speaker 1: I didn't write it, so I don't know. Question, and
• 40:09
Speaker 1: if I could refer, you one line down, also starting
• 40:13
Speaker 1: with the number 14, it records a flight from Montreal
• 40:15
Speaker 1: to PBI, which is the airport code for Palm Beach. Again,
• 40:19
Speaker 1: the passengers are listed as J.E., yourself, and G.M. Do
• 40:23
Speaker 1: you recall flying to Montreal or from Montreal to Palm
• 40:26
Speaker 1: Beach with Epstein and Maxwell? Answer, no, I do not. Question,
• 40:30
Speaker 1: do you recall being in Palm Beach with them? Answer, no,
• 40:33
Speaker 1: I do not recall being in Palm Beach with them
• 40:35
Speaker 1: or flying with them. Question, no further questions on this document.
• 40:40
Speaker 1: I'm going to ask the court reporter to mark as
• 40:42
Speaker 1: Exhibit F another email thread between yourself and Ms. Maxwell
• 40:45
Speaker 1: dated October 13, 2004. Bearing the Bates number EFTA 00579276. Mr. Shapiro,
• 40:55
Speaker 1: could we possibly get one more over here? Question, Mr. Band.
• 40:59
Speaker 1: Have you seen this email thread before? Question, I don't
• 41:02
Speaker 1: recall this email, but I've seen it in preparation for today. Question,
• 41:06
Speaker 1: I'm focused on the second email from the bottom from Ms.
• 41:09
Speaker 1: Maxwell to you. 164829. And the body reads, okay. Hey,
• 41:14
Speaker 1: is Marcy going to be working with Richard on the deal?
• 41:17
Speaker 1: Does she know about the forum, etc.? If so, what
• 41:20
Speaker 1: does she know? Can you give us some context here?
• 41:22
Speaker 1: What deal is Ms. Maxwell referring to? Answer, I don't know. Question,
• 41:26
Speaker 1: who is Marcy? Answer, I don't know that either. I
• 41:29
Speaker 1: don't know who that is, who she's referring to. Question,
• 41:33
Speaker 1: did you generally speaking have any discussions with Ms. Maxwell
• 41:36
Speaker 1: concerning business matters? Answer, you know, I think I recall
• 41:40
Speaker 1: times of talking about various projects and things like that
• 41:43
Speaker 1: that she was working on or I was. I mean,
• 41:45
Speaker 1: I was working for the president at the time, but
• 41:47
Speaker 1: I vaguely recall having conversations with her about various things
• 41:51
Speaker 1: that she was working on, but not anything specific that
• 41:55
Speaker 1: I can recall. Question, what were those projects? Answer, I
• 42:00
Speaker 1: don't remember any project in particular. Question, were there more
• 42:03
Speaker 1: than one? Answer, I don't remember. Question to Mr. Band
• 42:06
Speaker 1: for the record. I believe we spoke about this earlier.
• 42:09
Speaker 1: Do you recall ever attending Jeffrey Epstein's home in New
• 42:11
Speaker 1: York City without President Clinton? Band, no, I do not. Question,
• 42:16
Speaker 1: any other, scratch that, Mr. Green, jumps in, other than
• 42:19
Speaker 1: the dinner that he's already talked about. Ban the dinner, yeah,
• 42:22
Speaker 1: you said without, sorry, you said without President Clinton. Oh,
• 42:25
Speaker 1: the dinner, yeah, sorry, the dinner, yeah. Question, I'm sorry,
• 42:29
Speaker 1: can you remind me of the date of that dinner? Answer,
• 42:31
Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't remember when it was
• 42:34
Speaker 1: at all. Question, approximately. Answer, it was the dinner that
• 42:37
Speaker 1: you referred to in the past document, so that probably
• 42:40
Speaker 1: is a better reflection of the date, 2003, April 2003.
• 42:44
Speaker 1: Question understood. That was Exhibit C. Mr. Shapiro, Exhibit C, yes. Redacted, great,
• 42:50
Speaker 1: thank you. And just to be clear, you have no
• 42:52
Speaker 1: recollection of attending Jeffrey Epstein's properties beyond the one mentioned
• 42:56
Speaker 1: in Exhibit C without President Clinton? Banned. I did not,
• 43:00
Speaker 1: as far as I know, or have any recollection of
• 43:02
Speaker 1: attending any of his properties ever other than, as I said,
• 43:06
Speaker 1: the two times I recall going to his house in
• 43:08
Speaker 1: New York. Question Mr. Banned. Did Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn
• 43:12
Speaker 1: Maxwell ever give you a watch? Answer, I don't remember
• 43:15
Speaker 1: them giving me anything I don't recall. Question, do you
• 43:18
Speaker 1: recall that being discussed? Answer, I don't. I don't recall. Question,
• 43:22
Speaker 1: I'll ask the court reporter to mark as Exhibit G
• 43:25
Speaker 1: an article from Dropsite News dated December 19th, 2025. Question,
• 43:31
Speaker 1: take all the time you need to review the article
• 43:33
Speaker 1: in its entirety. I'm going to be focused on the
• 43:35
Speaker 1: eighth page. Unfortunately, it's not numbered. Redacted page 13, I believe. Banned,
• 43:41
Speaker 1: 13 on the bottom right. Mr. Green, 13 of 22. Shapiro,
• 43:45
  Speaker 1: 13 to 22. Redacted, that's right. Page 12 has an
• 43:48
Speaker 1: email exchange. We'll be reviewing that, and it reads at
• 43:51
Speaker 1: the top. Have him tell her, do you see that? Mr. Band, yes. Redacted,
• 43:56
Speaker 1: that's what we'll be referencing. Band, okay. Question, I'm sorry, Mr. Band.
• 44:01
Speaker 1: I think my page number is different. So they get
• 44:05
Speaker 1: down to the bottom of it. Question, and it contains
• 44:08
Speaker 1: a copy of an email thread between, once again, yourself
• 44:11
Speaker 1: and Ms. Maxwell dated... December 14th of 2005. Answer, okay. Question,
• 44:16
Speaker 1: do you recall this email thread? Answer, I do not. Question,
• 44:19
Speaker 1: if we can just walk through it, I'm looking at
• 44:21
Speaker 1: the first email on the bottom from Ms. Maxwell to you,
• 44:24
Speaker 1: which reads, any news on Audemars watch? Do you ever
• 44:28
Speaker 1: recall asking or discussing an Audemars watch with Ms. Maxwell? Answer,
• 44:34
Speaker 1: I do not recall discussing that with her. Question, and
• 44:38
Speaker 1: then your reply up above, more concerned about lunch. Why
• 44:41
Speaker 1: do you ask? If it's for you, I'll tell you.
• 44:44
Speaker 1: If it's because he wants me to buy me one,
• 44:46
Speaker 1: then no can do. Do you recall what you meant
• 44:49
Speaker 1: when you wrote that sentence? Answer, I'm sorry, I don't.
• 44:52
  Speaker 1: I don't recall what I meant. I mean, you know,
• 44:54
Speaker 1: sitting here today, it seems clear. If it's because he
• 44:57
Speaker 1: wants to buy me one, then no, I don't. This is,
• 45:00
Speaker 1: you know, it sounds out of the ordinary. President Clinton
• 45:02
Speaker 1: traveled all over the world. People gave him all sorts
• 45:05
Speaker 1: of things. People gave me all sorts of things all
• 45:08
Speaker 1: the time. Question, do you recall receiving any gifts from
• 45:11
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell or Jeffrey Epstein? Band, I don't recall receiving
• 45:15
Speaker 1: any gifts from them. Question, and I believe we have
• 45:18
Speaker 1: some questions from our members, so I'll turn it over
• 45:20
Speaker 1: to Mr. Lynch. Mr. Lynch, I'll pass. Mr. Submaranium, great.
• 45:25
Speaker 1: Thanks for being here today. Band, thank you. Thanks for,
• 45:28
Speaker 1: thank you for being here. Question, have you ever met
• 45:32
Speaker 1: Virginia Roberts? Mr. Band, not that I can recall. Question,
• 45:35
Speaker 1: do you know who she is? Answer, only in reading
• 45:38
Speaker 1: about her. And, you know, the reports over the past
• 45:40
Speaker 1: few years. Question. Are you aware of the lawsuit she
• 45:44
Speaker 1: filed against Glenn Maxwell? Answer. You know, again, I don't
• 45:48
Speaker 1: vaguely just from reading about it. Question. Okay. Are you
• 45:51
Speaker 1: aware you were listed as a potential witness in that lawsuit? Mr. Band, no. Question. Okay.
• 45:57
Speaker 1: Do you, would you know why you might be listed
• 46:00
Speaker 1: as a potential witness? Mr. Band, I have no idea. Question. Okay.
• 46:04
Speaker 1: I think she says you were present on flights with
• 46:06
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein, Glenn Maxwell, and President Clinton. You may have
• 46:10
Speaker 1: knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's sex trafficking during
• 46:13
Speaker 1: those interactions with minors. What would you say to that?
• 46:17
Speaker 1: Or what are your thoughts on her saying that? Mr. Band, sorry,
• 46:21
Speaker 1: who is her? Question, Maxwell, answer, that I'm on her witness,
• 46:27
Speaker 1: that I would be a witness for her? Question for
• 46:31
Speaker 1: her lawsuit, yeah. Answer for the woman's lawsuit? Mr. Green,
• 46:35
Speaker 1: I'm sorry, do you mind repeating the question again? Mr. Band,

Speaker 1: I'm confused, yeah, sorry. Submarinium, oh yeah, Ghislaine Maxwell. Banned,
• 46:42
Speaker 1: she's filing a lawsuit. Submarinium, so she's deceased now. This
• 46:46
Speaker 1: was 10 years ago that she filed the lawsuit. Green, yeah, Ms.
• 46:50
Speaker 1: Roberts filed the lawsuit against Ms. Maxwell. Shapiro, not Ghislaine Maxwell, Ms. Roberts. Submarinium,
• 46:56
Speaker 1: I'm sorry, yeah. Well, and in the deposition, Alan Dershowitz
• 47:00
Speaker 1: said that you and he discussed the allegations that were
• 47:03
Speaker 1: in that lawsuit filed by Virginia. Is that true? Mr. Banned,
• 47:07
  Speaker 1: I don't recall. I don't recall having any conversation with
• 47:10
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz. Question. Oh, okay. Did you ever talk to
• 47:13
Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz about Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Banned. No,
• 47:17
Speaker 1: not that I recall. I don't know him very well.
• 47:20
Speaker 1: He was part of the President Clinton sort of vineyard
• 47:22
Speaker 1: friend group. And when he was president, so I met
• 47:24
Speaker 1: with him there. Question. Did you ever talk about President
• 47:28
Speaker 1: Clinton to Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell? Banned about them.
• 47:32
Speaker 1: I don't recall any specific conversations about it. No. Question. Okay.
• 47:37
Speaker 1: And in an email exchange between you and Glenn Maxwell,
• 47:40
Speaker 1: she invited you to dinner with people named Lily, quote, unquote,
• 47:42
Speaker 1: your bro, and Andrew. Do you recall what dinner that was? Banned,
• 47:46
Speaker 1: I do not. Submaranium, do you know who Lily might be? Banned,
• 47:50
Speaker 1: my wife's named Lily. Submaranium, okay. Do you know who
• 47:53
Speaker 1: your bro might be? Banned, I don't. Question, do you
• 47:56
Speaker 1: know who Andrew might be? Banned, I don't. Submaranium, could
• 48:00
Speaker 1: it possibly be Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor? Banned, I didn't write it,
• 48:04
Speaker 1: I don't know. Question, yeah. Do you know who? I mean,
• 48:07
Speaker 1: have you ever met Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor? Banned. I have a
• 48:10
Speaker 1: vague recollection of meeting him. He was friends with President Clinton,
• 48:13
Speaker 1: and President Clinton visited Buckingham Palace a few times when
• 48:17
Speaker 1: he was president. And I recall seeing him around, but
• 48:19
Speaker 1: nothing specific. I just have a memory of meeting him,
• 48:23
Speaker 1: but I don't know when or where. Submeranium, okay. Glaine
• 48:27
Speaker 1: Maxwell also sent you an email with Tom Barak's information.
• 48:31
Speaker 1: Do you recall remembering why you asked for this information,
• 48:34
Speaker 1: or if you asked for this information? And I don't
• 48:37
Speaker 1: recall the email or asking for it. Submeranium, okay, I
• 48:41
Speaker 1: think that's all I have. All right, folks, we're going
• 48:44
Speaker 1: to wrap up right here. And in the next episode,
• 48:46
