- 0:00Speaker 1: WKBN. All right, 3.06 in the afternoon, NewsRadio 570, WKBN,
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Ron Furb. What a nice day it is today.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It's a beautiful Friday, May 15th. We welcome you, Ron Furb,
- 0:09Speaker 1: from the kingdom of Mahoning. I am, I am. With
- 0:12Speaker 1: 68 degrees here on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Did you
- 0:17Speaker 1: see Monday? It's going to get close to 90. You
- 0:21Speaker 1: think on Monday when it gets close to 90 degrees,
- 0:23Speaker 1: would you folks get irritated with me if I start
- 0:25Speaker 1: complaining on how hot and humid it is? No. I
- 0:29Speaker 1: know what you're thinking. Listen, it's been it's been temperatures
- 0:32Speaker 1: been below normal. It's been raining all the time and
- 0:36Speaker 1: all of that kind of jazz. And there's my dilemma.
- 0:40Speaker 1: So you think of that. So if I come on
- 0:42Speaker 1: Monday at three and say, is it just me or boy,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm getting a little tired of this hot, humid weather
- 0:47Speaker 1: because Monday's going to be close to 90. I might
- 0:50Speaker 1: do it anyway just to get under your skin. Let's
- 0:52Speaker 1: see what can happen. Anyway, good Friday to you. Ron Verb,
- 0:56Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WKBN. My top secret number is always 330-729-9977.
- 0:59Speaker 2: 330-729-9977.
- 0:59Speaker 1: We'll get you through to us on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So keep all of that in mind. And you say, well, Ron,
- 1:02Speaker 1: do we have baseball today? And my answer to that
- 1:05Speaker 1: is yes, we do. We do have baseball today. And
- 1:23Speaker 1: when is that going to be? Well, I will answer
- 1:25Speaker 1: that question for you. Tonight, 7-10. That means 6-30 will
- 1:29Speaker 1: be the first, the pregame show. Coming your way at
- 1:32Speaker 1: 6-30 tonight. Cincinnati and the Guardians will play tonight, 6-30,
- 1:38Speaker 1: the pregame on NewsRadio 570. So we have almost a
- 1:42Speaker 1: full broadcast. The key word being almost. Let's see. I
- 1:47Speaker 1: know there's Ted the Conservative here somewhere. And let me
- 1:52Speaker 1: just see here. I forgot the rotation here. Hello? You're
- 1:57Speaker 1: on air?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Ron, I only take a few minutes, like two
- 2:01Speaker 3: minutes of your time so you can.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Get to bed. I was just bragging about you to
- 2:05Speaker 1: someone today.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Well, you're not going to be bragging about me now.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I was saying, J.J. the liberal. You know, I said, J.J.
- 2:13Speaker 1: the liberal is dependable. And I said, when we get
- 2:17Speaker 1: done with the Guardians games and that kind of stuff,
- 2:21Speaker 1: He listens to the Guardians game, and when we come
- 2:23Speaker 1: on with the program, he's first out of the gate.
- 2:26Speaker 1: He's first out of the gate and a great contributor.
- 2:31Speaker 1: This is really what I was saying. I'm going to
- 2:34Speaker 1: irritate a lot of people who listen to the program.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I said J.J. the Liberal is first out of the gate.
- 2:39Speaker 1: He's there when the game is done. He's there to contribute.
- 2:43Speaker 1: He's there to add to the program on a regular basis.
- 2:47Speaker 1: And whether you agree with them or disagree with them.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So there you go. You know why?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Oh, why?
- 2:53Speaker 3: You know why?
- 2:54Speaker 1: Because you love me?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Because I'm on the dole.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh, you're on the dole. Okay.
- 2:57Speaker 3: First of all, there's a couple of things I just
- 2:59Speaker 3: want to bring to your attention.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. I'll answer the question. Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 1: I do know why. Because you're old and on Social Security.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Oh, no, no, no. Social Security.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You earned it.
- 3:29Speaker 3: I am eternally grateful that you guys want to, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 3: and I apologize for reaching in and taking it out
- 3:35Speaker 3: of your guys' pockets, so please forgive me for that.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute. Wait a minute. You're on Social Security, right?
- 3:41Speaker 1: You took Social Security.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm on the dole. I'm taking from you
- 3:43Speaker 3: guys because I never earned that. I never earned that. So,
- 3:46Speaker 3: second of all, I wanted to let you guys know
- 3:48Speaker 3: that you do know That red states are the ones
- 3:52Speaker 3: that take more money. For every $ 2 that they get,
- 3:56Speaker 3: they give a dollar to the federal government. Not unlike
- 4:00Speaker 3: some blue states that actually carry the red states. So
- 4:04Speaker 3: that's number one. Number two. I want to tell you
- 4:07Speaker 3: the reason why I don't believe judges should be able
- 4:09Speaker 3: to have to show or tell why they're a political party,
- 4:13Speaker 3: because maybe you can help me on this, because that
- 4:17Speaker 3: would be very bad, because all he has to do
- 4:20Speaker 3: is he'd be elected. If he's a staunch Republican or Democrat,
- 4:24Speaker 3: if he gets a person who is now considered a Democrat, uh, uh, a, uh,
- 4:30Speaker 3: a person who's on trial or a victim or whatever,
- 4:33Speaker 3: they can use that against that judge or that judge
- 4:35Speaker 3: can use that against them. So I hope, and I,
- 4:38Speaker 3: and I know you were kind of going along with
- 4:40Speaker 3: it yesterday, but I, I just was kind of curious.
- 4:42Speaker 3: That's my, my, my second, I'm on a roll today,
- 4:44Speaker 3: but that was my second one. And, um, you guys
- 4:47Speaker 3: do know that you guys are upset with the government.
- 4:49Speaker 3: You do know that Trump is in charge six of
- 4:51Speaker 3: the last 10 years, right? So that's another thing. And finally, um,
- 4:55Speaker 3: you know, it's, um, You guys.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Don't want to vote for Democrats.
- 4:58Speaker 3: You think we're such libtards and horrible, horrible people that
- 5:02Speaker 3: I hear you guys talk about us. But you guys,
- 5:04Speaker 3: but not just what you want, because I have to
- 5:06Speaker 3: give you credit, but Teddy Conservative and Bubba Ganoush and
- 5:10Speaker 3: all you guys will vote for a person that will
- 5:14Speaker 3: attack or would put his hand up your granddaughter's skirt.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So I'm going to leave it at that, but I
- 5:20Speaker 3: appreciate you always supporting me, but I'm really just upset
- 5:23Speaker 3: today that I'm keeping calm.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, why are you so upset? Wait a minute. Why
- 5:29Speaker 1: are you so upset? I don't remember anyone calling you
- 5:34Speaker 1: a libtard, did they?
- 5:36Speaker 3: You guys call me that all the time, Ron.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I don't.
- 5:40Speaker 3: I think, actually, personally, I think that Richard Farmacist has
- 5:43Speaker 3: been digging into his prescriptions. He's gone off the deep end. Yesterday,
- 5:48Speaker 3: he said such horrible things. Listen to what he said.
- 5:52Speaker 3: You guys are saying that the people like me, the Democrats,
- 5:55Speaker 3: take from you guys. Do you know what I do
- 5:58Speaker 3: with some of my money that I get? Do you
- 6:00Speaker 3: know what my wife and I did the other day?
- 6:02Speaker 1: What?
- 6:04Speaker 3: We helped a woman who had a dog and another
- 6:07Speaker 3: woman who had a dog that they couldn't pay for
- 6:08Speaker 3: getting their dog looked at. We spent our own money,
- 6:11Speaker 3: and now nobody's paying us back for that. And then
- 6:14Speaker 3: we get to help somebody else out. Okay, that..
- 6:17Speaker 1: Now, wait a second. Seriously, settle down, Beavis. Let me
- 6:21Speaker 1: ask you, do you remember Beavis and Butthead? I just
- 6:23Speaker 1: did one for you, JJ, the liberal. Settle down, Beavis. Now,
- 6:27Speaker 1: settle down, Beavis. Here we go with this. Now, first
- 6:30Speaker 1: and foremost... I have never sat back and said, J.J.,
- 6:35Speaker 1: the liberal's on a dole, because I know, because you
- 6:38Speaker 1: discussed it with me, and remember our conversation when you
- 6:42Speaker 1: took Social Security early, correct? Am I correct in my memory?
- 6:46Speaker 4: Yes?
- 6:47Speaker 2: I lost a lot of money.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Okay, but just say I'm correct in that.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Okay, so I never accuse you of being on a
- 6:54Speaker 1: dole because you've been. Okay, just let me clear things
- 6:58Speaker 1: up here. So you took your Social Security at 62.
- 7:02Speaker 1: That isn't being on the dole. That's what you paid
- 7:04Speaker 1: into when you were working, and you took it at
- 7:07Speaker 1: your retirement age of 62. So I've never accused you
- 7:11Speaker 1: of being on the dole, and I don't think people
- 7:14Speaker 1: have accused you of being on the dole. Now, let
- 7:17Speaker 1: me go to the next thing. I don't know what
- 7:19Speaker 1: the situation is, and I don't want to know. It's
- 7:21Speaker 1: none of my business, because I know your wife's a
- 7:24Speaker 1: very private person, and we should respect her privacy. And obviously,
- 7:30Speaker 1: your son has issues with autism, and that's a whole
- 7:33Speaker 1: different scenario, too. So that's something that is off topic.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It's not something that we really discuss. So anyone, I
- 7:42Speaker 1: believe Rich's comments weren't directed at you specifically. As I
- 7:48Speaker 1: recall his phone call yesterday, I don't think his comments
- 7:51Speaker 1: were about you specifically at all. I think he was
- 7:54Speaker 1: talking about many of the Democrats. I think you take
- 7:59Speaker 1: some things thinking people are talking about you specifically.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I don't have to think of an ego, Ron.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I don't think you're talking about me. But he didn't
- 8:06Speaker 1: mention you by name. It doesn't matter.
- 8:09Speaker 3: You guys are saying Democrats and you know that I'm
- 8:11Speaker 3: a Democrat.
- 8:11Speaker 1: How am I supposed to take that, Ron? Now, a
- 8:13Speaker 1: lot of Democrats... Are are on the dole, not you,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but you are. OK, so that's that was his criticism.
- 8:21Speaker 1: For example, when when Dave Thomas was talking about the
- 8:25Speaker 1: state rep, about how they changed Medicaid. So if you're
- 8:29Speaker 1: 25 years old and good health and of work age.
- 8:32Speaker 1: you could sit on your arse and get Medicaid health
- 8:35Speaker 1: insurance as opposed to go out and get a job.
- 8:38Speaker 1: You're right. Okay, but see, that's who they're talking about
- 8:43Speaker 1: when they say people sitting around on a dole. They're
- 8:46Speaker 1: not talking about you.
- 8:48Speaker 3: But, Ron, I'm not trying to be short, because I
- 8:51Speaker 3: love you, dude. I really do. I know.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Do you know how many times Nick or Tony have
- 8:58Speaker 5: said that there's people like me that have caused problems
- 9:04Speaker 5: that are going on in this country? And they have
- 9:07Speaker 5: attacked me personally.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yes, yes.
- 9:09Speaker 2: And you know what? I'm going to try to be
- 9:10Speaker 2: a better host.
- 9:16Speaker 1: To stop these personal attacks. Now, the only thing that
- 9:21Speaker 1: I think is fair game is fair is to say, well,
- 9:26Speaker 1: just like you can come after me because I voted
- 9:28Speaker 1: for Trump three times and you can say, well, you
- 9:31Speaker 1: voted for this. And that's true. Just as people will say, well,
- 9:36Speaker 1: you support Biden and you get all of this stuff
- 9:38Speaker 1: with Biden as well.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I think that's fair discussion.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I agree to go after that. But I don't think
- 9:47Speaker 1: Richard pharmacist attacked you as far as you personally. I
- 9:51Speaker 1: think he was attacking a large portion of the Democrats
- 9:55Speaker 1: that are on the dole and benefiting from all of
- 9:59Speaker 1: these programs. who need a kick in the arse to
- 10:03Speaker 1: make a contribution. I always say this. I always say,
- 10:06Speaker 1: don't make your problems my problems. In other words, we
- 10:10Speaker 1: do believe in personal responsibility. The choices you make, the
- 10:14Speaker 1: decisions you make, those are things that– You have to
- 10:19Speaker 1: pay the price for it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I agree with you.
- 10:21Speaker 6: All right.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Well, I'm not arguing with you.
- 10:24Speaker 3: The best thing to do is have a job.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Stand on your own two feet. Right.
- 10:28Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Before punishing me because of years ago when I.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Had that attack and that nice gentleman wanted to help me.
- 10:36Speaker 3: And I told you even then at the time that
- 10:38Speaker 3: I don't ask for money. I don't want money.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But if they did it out of the kindness of
- 10:42Speaker 1: their heart, I told you. I don't even want to
- 10:44Speaker 1: go back to that. If somebody wanted to assist you
- 10:46Speaker 1: at that time, that's a different story. when you were
- 10:49Speaker 1: having those issues.
- 10:50Speaker 3: There has been comments that have made, if you listen
- 10:53Speaker 3: closely enough. You're going to say, well, it's not an
- 10:56Speaker 3: attack upon you, but you read between the lines.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Well, do me a favor. Stop reading between the lines.
- 11:03Speaker 1: It isn't about you. I can assure you.
- 11:06Speaker 3: No, I don't have that big of an ego, Ron.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I'm not that important. But I have to stick up
- 11:12Speaker 3: for the general generalization. If I say this generalization, all
- 11:17Speaker 3: you guys are off the deep end because you voted
- 11:20Speaker 3: for Trump and you this and that and blah, blah, blah.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Well, that's fair game if you think that.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I didn't specifically. we say that.
- 11:26Speaker 1: No but if you think that that's okay to express
- 11:29Speaker 1: it because i'll sit back and listen and then i
- 11:32Speaker 1: will i can counter that by you vote for biden
- 11:35Speaker 1: that's not anything personal we're just having a political.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Exchange emmanuel said it yesterday didn't he say yesterday how
- 11:41Speaker 3: he appreciates that you allow people like us to be
- 11:44Speaker 3: able to speak I appreciate it. That's the reason why
- 11:47Speaker 3: I always want to.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Talk to you.
- 11:48Speaker 3: You're a part of my life, Ron.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And you're a part of mine. J.J. the liberal. I
- 11:56Speaker 1: just said, where would I be when he's doing those
- 12:00Speaker 1: games and you're not there? I'd be talking to myself.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So I appreciate it.
- 12:04Speaker 3: She's going to call you, my wife, and she's going
- 12:06Speaker 3: to say I got good news. I got hit by
- 12:09Speaker 3: a car.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That isn't good news. All right, get out of here.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I don't want to hear that stuff. All right, have
- 12:14Speaker 1: a great weekend. News Radio 570. You're on the air.
- 12:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Who were you looking for before this guy?
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'm looking for Ted the Conservative. Hang on, okay? I'll
- 12:25Speaker 1: get back to you. Just hang on, okay? Because I
- 12:29Speaker 1: had him in my rotation here somewhere. I kind of
- 12:31Speaker 1: screwed up my rotation. Hello?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Ronald.
- 12:34Speaker 1: There you go. All right. Now I'm in back.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Let's set the record straight. I like JJ. JJ, if
- 12:39Speaker 2: you're listening, I like you. I think you're a good guy.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I think you're a good human being. I just think
- 12:44Speaker 2: politically you're lost, and I disagree with everything you said.
- 12:47Speaker 1: And that's okay to disagree with him on politics. That's okay.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I think he's a good guy. And you said the consistency.
- 12:53Speaker 2: The one thing consistent about J.J., he will call every
- 12:56Speaker 2: day and complain about Donald Trump, Republicans, you, me, Rich.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Well, pause for a second. Here's the thing about J.J.
- 13:03Speaker 1: that people don't understand. J.J. has also been critical of
- 13:09Speaker 1: Joe Biden himself. and agreed with things on Trump. J.J.
- 13:12Speaker 1: and I have had lengthy discussions, as you well know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: said the conservative, where he says, I didn't agree with
- 13:18Speaker 1: Biden on that, and I do, and he agreed with
- 13:20Speaker 1: Trump on this.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but he'd still vote for Biden again, though.
- 13:24Speaker 1: That is correct, because he is a Democrat. But I'm
- 13:27Speaker 1: working on him. I think if I live long enough,
- 13:30Speaker 1: if I live to be 120, I think I can
- 13:31Speaker 1: get him to be at least independent.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Good luck with that. At least we'll have 60 more years.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Don't count on that. Come on.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Here's why I'm calling you. A couple things. You and I,
- 13:49Speaker 2: I was a little perturbed with you, I think, on Tuesday.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Because you were repeating the false narrative, and J.J. ran
- 13:57Speaker 2: with it, that Donald Trump doesn't care about the American
- 14:00Speaker 2: financial situation.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Based on, yes, the quote in the news. that ABC
- 14:05Speaker 1: ran that I was sitting here and said.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And you kept repeating it.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 14:10Speaker 2: It annoyed me. Like when my wife, when you just
- 14:13Speaker 2: sit down and your wife asks you for something, you're like,
- 14:15Speaker 2: why didn't you tell me, ask me before I sat down.
- 14:18Speaker 2: But anyways, I digress.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I know exactly what you're thinking.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Yes. You know what I'm thinking?
- 14:23Speaker 1: And it annoys me. It annoys me too. It's like, can,
- 14:29Speaker 1: can I just get a moment of a breather?
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, and she'll say, why, were you busy doing something?
- 14:34Speaker 2: And I'll say no, because I'm normally not. It's just I.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Want to do it on my time and my pace.
- 14:42Speaker 1: That's what I told her last night.
- 14:43Speaker 2: She goes, you do stuff for me all the time,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and you never complain. I said, yeah, I do it
- 14:47Speaker 2: when I want to do it and how I want
- 14:49Speaker 2: to do it. When I want to sit down and
- 14:51Speaker 2: be lazy, I don't want to have to get up
- 14:52Speaker 2: as soon as I sit down and be lazy.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Especially with a bum leg, like your knee is healing.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and I had a rough day yesterday, boy. You know,
- 15:01Speaker 2: I go there every week, and it seems like every
- 15:03Speaker 2: other week I get someone who wraps my leg, and
- 15:06Speaker 2: they do it so aggressively and tight. By nighttime, the
- 15:10Speaker 2: circulation is cut off to my leg, and we've got
- 15:13Speaker 2: to redo it at all. And yesterday was one of
- 15:15Speaker 2: those days. I was like, oh, my God.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Well, why don't you say something? What are they wrapping
- 15:18Speaker 1: it with, an ace bandage?
- 15:20Speaker 2: No, there's actually, the current wrap I have has four
- 15:24Speaker 2: layers to it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Hold on, stand by. Back with Ted the Conservative. Let
- 15:29Speaker 1: me see. Wait a second. Back with Ted the Conservative
- 15:31Speaker 1: in a minute. Call us on the line. Stand by.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I think we've got a lot of good calls. Straight ahead.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Stay tuned. News Radio 570 WKBN. I've got a tip.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Wait a second. I've got a tip for you, too,
- 15:42Speaker 1: Ted the Conservative. Then I'm going to hear about your
- 15:43Speaker 1: leg when you're talking about our wives and that kind
- 15:46Speaker 1: of stuff. Okay? Are you ready for this?
- 15:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:49Speaker 1: All right. Now listen. Listen. I'm going to give you
- 15:52Speaker 1: the last. It was Saturday. So Saturday, let's see, Mother's
- 15:59Speaker 1: Day was Sunday, right? So it was Saturday night. So
- 16:02Speaker 1: Saturday night, no matter what doghouse you're in with your wife.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So Saturday night, I went with the ball and chain
- 16:12Speaker 1: over to La Mexicana. Do you know where Five Guys
- 16:18Speaker 1: is and the Guitar Center is and Arby's on Market
- 16:21Speaker 1: and 224, that area?
- 16:22Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Oh, I've been there before. On the corner?
- 16:26Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Like in the back?
- 16:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Yeah, behind Five Guys back there.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, my wife and I have been there once.
- 16:31Speaker 1: All right. If you go back, well, you're going to
- 16:34Speaker 1: go back again. Ted, you might thank me for saving
- 16:37Speaker 1: your marriage, okay?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:39Speaker 1: You go back. You go there. Listen, Ted, okay, what
- 16:42Speaker 1: do you got? You go back there, and I think
- 16:44Speaker 1: it's like $ 10. You can get a frozen margarita. And
- 16:49Speaker 1: I think we got two frozen mango margaritas that were frozen.
- 16:55Speaker 1: And they're big, Ted. They're like a fishbowl. You follow me?
- 16:59Speaker 1: It isn't chintzy or anything. It's big. And it is
- 17:03Speaker 1: absolutely a slice of heaven. I'm telling you. You've got
- 17:07Speaker 1: to take your ball and chain there. Limp on in there.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Limp on in there?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah, limp on in there.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Were you trying to get her intoxicated?
- 17:20Speaker 1: No, you just enjoy it with your meal. I mean,
- 17:26Speaker 1: if you have a meal. And just sit there after
- 17:28Speaker 1: your meal and... let's let the digestion take place. And,
- 17:33Speaker 1: you know, you don't want to leave. You don't want
- 17:34Speaker 1: to be drunk and drive or none of that kind
- 17:37Speaker 1: of stuff, which I doubt you could be, but I
- 17:39Speaker 1: think you would like it.
- 17:40Speaker 2: A little tip about Ted, the conservative. I don't drink alcohol,
- 17:43Speaker 2: but my wife consumes it. So maybe I'll take her there.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Really? Okay. Maybe it's not good for the body. I, well,
- 17:52Speaker 1: in that case, it was, it was pretty good.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Here I am trying to— advice to the love lord. It
- 18:02Speaker 1: would make your leg probably feel bigger and that kind
- 18:05Speaker 1: of stuff.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Maybe you could have a new segment. Call it Ron
- 18:09Speaker 2: the Love Lord.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Advice to the love lord. And I might add, just
- 18:14Speaker 1: since you don't do the large margarita, excellent refried beans.
- 18:18Speaker 1: And I think we all know what the outcome of
- 18:20Speaker 1: that will be, Ted.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I bet you really enjoyed that. Don't lift up
- 18:29Speaker 2: the bed sheet, Tom.
- 18:30Speaker 1: There was a little other surprise. What is that smell, Mike? Well,
- 18:37Speaker 1: thanks for pointing it out.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Tom, it must have been the margarita you drank too much.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, it's really a tasty drink. Concoction
- 18:47Speaker 1: is what I'm trying to say. You've got to get
- 18:48Speaker 1: a frozen note, Ted, if you think about it. I'm
- 18:53Speaker 1: trying to mend whatever, you know, when you get under
- 18:57Speaker 1: his skin. Okay, stand by. I'm coming back with Ted
- 18:59Speaker 1: after the headlines. I wanted to just lay that on
- 19:02Speaker 1: him right off the bat. Let Ted the conservative. I've
- 19:05Speaker 1: always got him right here. Ted and JJ, back after
- 19:07Speaker 1: a minute. News Radio 570 WKVN. All right, back to it.
- 19:13Speaker 1: There you go. All right, Ted, the conservative. So you
- 19:15Speaker 1: were saying, I was giving that quote out the other day.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I remember doing so. Guilty as charged. Go ahead.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you were repeating what you heard because obviously you
- 19:24Speaker 2: didn't hear the whole story. And I called in and
- 19:27Speaker 2: told you, well, that's wrong. That's not what Trump said.
- 19:30Speaker 2: It's being taken out of context. I'm not sure if
- 19:34Speaker 2: you listened to the whole speech or not, but I
- 19:36Speaker 2: noticed it was Wednesday when G2 called in. He agreed
- 19:40Speaker 2: with what I told you. Trump gave the right answer.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And then I think I sent you an article. The
- 19:46Speaker 2: great senator from the state of Pennsylvania, Mr. John Fetta,
- 19:50Speaker 2: who we would have never met a few years ago,
- 19:52Speaker 2: he made a public announcement that the media was twisting
- 19:56Speaker 2: Trump's words to make it look bad. And he did
- 19:59Speaker 2: not say that the concerns of the American citizens are
- 20:03Speaker 2: not a concern of his. What he said was he
- 20:06Speaker 2: would not negotiate negotiations with Iran based on any other
- 20:11Speaker 2: thing than the objectives of the mission. In other words,
- 20:14Speaker 2: if his house is on fire, he's not going to
- 20:16Speaker 2: stop talking to Iran and say, okay, do whatever you want,
- 20:20Speaker 2: I'm going to go put this fire out.
- 20:22Speaker 1: In other words, I remember that day because you said,
- 20:25Speaker 1: and right, I'm sitting, I'm listening to a snippet that
- 20:27Speaker 1: they ran on ABC. I did not hear the whole thing.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And you said they need to play the whole thing.
- 20:32Speaker 1: They took it out of context because Trump was saying,
- 20:35Speaker 1: in essence, listen, I'm solely focused on they cannot have
- 20:38Speaker 1: a nuclear weapon. I'm not concerned about the price of
- 20:41Speaker 1: a gallon of gas or inflation. Right.
- 20:44Speaker 2: When it comes to the Iran negotiations.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Exactly. But they took the part out of when it
- 20:50Speaker 1: comes to the Iran negotiations. They took that part out.
- 20:54Speaker 1: So I said, geez, he better be concerned. And even
- 21:00Speaker 1: however you want to say it, I go back to say,
- 21:03Speaker 1: outside of you don't have to tell this to Iran,
- 21:06Speaker 1: but you better be damn concerned about the inflation and
- 21:08Speaker 1: the price of a gallon of gas because it matters.
- 21:11Speaker 1: It hurts a lot of people.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I think our president is capable of multitasking. You know,
- 21:17Speaker 2: unlike Joe Biden, he doesn't eat four-hour naps in the afternoon.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:21Speaker 2: The guy works from morning till night. You and I
- 21:24Speaker 2: are in bed sleeping. He's still awake.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:27Speaker 2: He's just wired differently. People like J.J. that just hate
- 21:30Speaker 2: the guy. And I'm not saying J.J.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Hates him.
- 21:33Speaker 8: J.J.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Has told you and I that he hates him. And
- 21:36Speaker 2: it's on record.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:38Speaker 2: But I mean... People like J.J. hear that, and it's just..
- 21:45Speaker 1: He heard the same thing I did, though. So J.J.
- 21:48Speaker 1: 's fair enough that if he heard the whole context,
- 21:50Speaker 1: he would take it differently. I give him credit.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I've gotten to the point, Ron, where I can't listen
- 21:58Speaker 2: to any media.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Because of the distortion?
- 22:01Speaker 2: The only show I watch in the evening hours is
- 22:03Speaker 2: Duckfield at 10 o'clock.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny.
- 22:06Speaker 2: For years, I didn't like the guys. I just didn't think,
- 22:11Speaker 2: I didn't like the format, but now I love it.
- 22:13Speaker 2: It's a joint program. I won't even listen to Fox News.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, or
- 22:18Speaker 2: Jesse Waters. I think they're just, I just don't like them.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I don't even, I told you I used to listen
- 22:24Speaker 2: to liberal news to get information, see where the enemy's at.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I don't even do that because I can't stand it.
- 22:29Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. Every day is a different issue. Whatever
- 22:33Speaker 2: Trump's for, they're against, and they will lie and misrepresent
- 22:36Speaker 2: the truth. So it's up to you to know the
- 22:38Speaker 2: truth and define the truth and do a little bit
- 22:40Speaker 2: of work. And, you know, I was thinking about this
- 22:44Speaker 2: status analogy. You're familiar with the sport of boxing, and
- 22:48Speaker 2: boxing has weight class. And, you know, you get those
- 22:51Speaker 2: little guys, and when I say little, I'm referring to
- 22:54Speaker 2: maybe a guy like a Ray Boom Boom Mancini, you know,
- 22:57Speaker 2: 100 and whatever pounds he weighed. They can throw... 100,
- 23:02Speaker 2: 150 punches a round because they're so light and they're
- 23:07Speaker 2: so fast. That's kind of what Trump does. He hits
- 23:10Speaker 2: the Democrats with so many punches every day, so many
- 23:14Speaker 2: different issues, so many topics. I don't know how to respond.
- 23:17Speaker 2: If you think about what was the major issue in
- 23:19Speaker 2: the news three months ago, it's buried. It's buried. Every
- 23:23Speaker 2: day it's like they're drowning and they're grasping for an
- 23:28Speaker 2: inner tube, and they'll scream and yell at whatever he says, supposedly.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Well, it doesn't matter. Like tariffs was a big issue
- 23:34Speaker 1: if you go back. Yeah, it was tariffs. Then it
- 23:37Speaker 1: was immigration. And they're even bitching about what he's doing
- 23:41Speaker 1: to clean up those pools that are out there at
- 23:46Speaker 1: the Capitol.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, like, why shouldn't that look good? Why shouldn't we
- 23:54Speaker 2: fix it?
- 23:55Speaker 1: I mean, they're even bitching about that. Does he have
- 23:58Speaker 1: the ability? I mean, my wife said when she saw him,
- 24:01Speaker 1: they were disgusting. And so he's cleaning them up, and
- 24:05Speaker 1: they're just bitching that he's trying to make something look better.
- 24:08Speaker 1: There isn't anything he can do for a lot of
- 24:10Speaker 1: these people that they won't complain about. My biggest concern is,
- 24:14Speaker 1: now that you mentioned it, is I think he's gotten
- 24:17Speaker 1: somewhat distracted from doing this. getting people out of the
- 24:24Speaker 1: country as far as immigration is concerned. I don't see
- 24:27Speaker 1: it as aggressive as it has been. I mean, I'm not..
- 24:30Speaker 2: Well, I think it's still happening. The only reason you're
- 24:33Speaker 2: not seeing it is because the media has decided to
- 24:35Speaker 2: fight other battles. The mirror lakes. the mirror pond, whatever
- 24:39Speaker 2: you want to call it. They've not scaled anything down.
- 24:43Speaker 2: You're just not seeing it because the liberal media has decided, well,
- 24:47Speaker 2: we've gotten all we can get out of that one.
- 24:49Speaker 2: We're not changing it, so let's go on to this.
- 24:51Speaker 1: So do you think ISIS is as aggressive as they
- 24:54Speaker 1: had been on getting people out of the country?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yep, I have no doubt.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I hope that's the case because in the back of
- 25:02Speaker 1: my mind, I'm thinking, did he kind of cave to
- 25:04Speaker 1: the far left with all their protests and all this
- 25:07Speaker 1: kind of stuff? No.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Donald Trump, if you haven't learned by now, he's not
- 25:11Speaker 2: the kind of person that caves to anyone. If you
- 25:13Speaker 2: punch him back, he punches twice as hard.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I got you.
- 25:16Speaker 2: And I think he gets pleasure out of it, to
- 25:17Speaker 2: be honest with you. I think it's entertaining for him,
- 25:20Speaker 2: fighting with these goofballs. Because these are all common-sense issues.
- 25:25Speaker 2: There's nothing he's doing that's really against the grain, that's
- 25:29Speaker 2: so controversial. Most people, when you poll them and ask
- 25:33Speaker 2: them a straight question, they agree with it. But the
- 25:36Speaker 2: Democrats will die on anything that he supports. That's like
- 25:39Speaker 2: the China issue. Oh, my gosh. You know, I hate
- 25:43Speaker 2: to mention names, but I heard a guy we were
- 25:46Speaker 2: just talking about yesterday call in worried about, oh, my gosh, China, China, China.
- 25:51Speaker 2: They're going to do this. They're going to do that.
- 25:53Speaker 2: They're taking advantage of Trump. Oh, he's repeating what he hears.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Then you got another caller who claims to be a
- 25:58Speaker 2: financial investor, and he's talking about how great China is.
- 26:02Speaker 2: So let's set the record straight. China. What is China?
- 26:05Speaker 2: You know, 40, 50 years ago, they were a big
- 26:09Speaker 2: economic threat to the United States. Obviously, they're a geopolitical foe,
- 26:13Speaker 2: but they're not what they used to be. They have
- 26:16Speaker 2: strategic interests and goals and ideologies that fundamentally oppose us.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Although, now before you go too far, I was actually reading,
- 26:24Speaker 1: and it was eerie because... I was reading, and I
- 26:27Speaker 1: wish I could tell you which site it was, about
- 26:30Speaker 1: China's economy is doing pretty good.
- 26:33Speaker 3: It's horrible.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I'm reading that it's doing good.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Their economic picture is bad. Their economy is export-driven, and
- 26:41Speaker 2: we've seen what's happened to that with tariffs. We've seen
- 26:44Speaker 2: what's happened when the Strait of America has been closed.
- 26:47Speaker 2: They can't move container ships. They can't get products out.
- 26:52Speaker 2: They can't get oil. Trump has cut off almost 60%
- 26:55Speaker 2: of their oil. 55% comes out of the Middle East,
- 26:59Speaker 2: another 5% come out of Venezuela. They've lost all that.
- 27:02Speaker 2: All of that's gone. Their total debt, I heard this yesterday,
- 27:07Speaker 2: their total debt to GDP is approaching 340%. Now, to
- 27:14Speaker 2: put that in comparison to us, people think our economy's bad, right?
- 27:17Speaker 2: They think inflation's bad here. Well, our debt to GDP
- 27:22Speaker 2: is about 255%. To put that in perspective, if we
- 27:26Speaker 2: think things are bad here, they're almost twice as bad there.
- 27:32Speaker 2: But you hear people talk about how strong the China
- 27:35Speaker 2: economy is. It's not. Their economy is export-driven. They... I mean,
- 27:41Speaker 2: we know about all the social issues in China, what
- 27:43Speaker 2: they do to their own people. There's a thousand social
- 27:47Speaker 2: issues I won't even talk about, but let's talk about that. Export-driven,
- 27:50Speaker 2: they're not getting oil, they're not getting container ships. Their
- 27:53Speaker 2: economy is on life support. Now, Taiwan, they were ready
- 27:59Speaker 2: to take over Taiwan.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Why?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Because they want control of all the technology and the
- 28:05Speaker 2: innovation there. try to bring in more money for themselves. Well,
- 28:08Speaker 2: as soon as Trump became president, they knew that that
- 28:10Speaker 2: ship wasn't going to fly. That bird wasn't going to fly,
- 28:14Speaker 2: however you want to say it. And they know that
- 28:16Speaker 2: as long as Trump's in office, they're not doing anything
- 28:18Speaker 2: about that. Because they fear Trump. They know, they've seen
- 28:22Speaker 2: what he will do, and there's nothing he won't do
- 28:26Speaker 2: to protect the interests of the United States. We've seen
- 28:29Speaker 2: that all over the world since he's been in office.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I think if... You know, everyone that opposes everything that's
- 28:38Speaker 2: going on, they think it's so bad. They think Trump's
- 28:40Speaker 2: caving the child. What's the case? I haven't heard anything.
- 28:44Speaker 2: If anything, I've heard opportunities to open some markets up
- 28:48Speaker 2: for technology people that travel there. I heard some support
- 28:52Speaker 2: that they want this war with Iran to end. They
- 28:54Speaker 2: need the Strait of America to open, right? I've not
- 28:58Speaker 2: heard anything negative. I've not heard anything where Trump has
- 29:00Speaker 2: come out of there with his head down, his knuckles
- 29:03Speaker 2: dragging and looking beat up.
- 29:04Speaker 1: I just only hope that we was over there to
- 29:06Speaker 1: negotiate some type of economic stimulus for purchasing Hunter Biden's
- 29:12Speaker 1: paintings and giving Hunter Biden's investment firm another billion dollars.
- 29:16Speaker 2: He's using the leverage he has, which is he has
- 29:21Speaker 2: slowed their... Container ships are moving. He has shut down
- 29:24Speaker 2: the Strait of America.
- 29:26Speaker 1: So you like his strategery?
- 29:29Speaker 2: His strategery is beyond the comprehension of most Americans. So
- 29:37Speaker 2: the guy puts America first. This war with Iran, you know,
- 29:41Speaker 2: I can only summarize it this simple. People, prior to 9-11,
- 29:48Speaker 2: there were many triggers and many warnings that people ignored.
- 29:52Speaker 2: And then when 9-11 happened, they looked back and said,
- 29:54Speaker 2: oh my gosh, how did we allow this to happen?
- 29:57Speaker 2: So Trump is vowing to never let another 9-11 happen.
- 30:01Speaker 2: If people think, oh, Iran's no threat, they're not going
- 30:03Speaker 2: to do that. Who's to say the next time they
- 30:05Speaker 2: pull off one of these stunts, it's not a nuclear
- 30:08Speaker 2: bomb in New York City instead of a plane hitting
- 30:10Speaker 2: a high-rise? You can't just assume the world's a good
- 30:15Speaker 2: place because it's not. There's been war since the day
- 30:18Speaker 2: man walked on the earth. There's been battle.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Don't worry, though. You don't need that... The governor and
- 30:26Speaker 1: the mayor of New York City are unleashing economic bombs
- 30:30Speaker 1: to destroy New York City with all these taxation proposals.
- 30:34Speaker 1: All right.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Going back to something else too, Denny, JJ said, it's
- 30:38Speaker 2: not that you and I think Republicans are superior in
- 30:43Speaker 2: every issue or every..
- 30:45Speaker 1: We just agree with them. They make sense to me.
- 30:47Speaker 2: They make sense to us, and we fear a Democrat
- 30:50Speaker 2: being in office for just the reason you mentioned. Look
- 30:53Speaker 2: what they're doing in New York City.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Right. There you have it.
- 30:55Speaker 2: They're chasing all the money out of the city. Well,
- 30:57Speaker 2: then what are they going to do?
- 30:59Speaker 1: There he is.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Focaccia Friday.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Okay, there he is with his seeping wound on his leg.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Ted the Conservative. NewsRadio 570. Don't you give me any
- 31:10Speaker 1: on here.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Hey, Ron.
- 31:13Speaker 8: Remember when John Arnold said don't listen to non-professionals like
- 31:19Speaker 8: Ted the Non-Conservative? He's an economic and investment functional literate.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Well, I'm not going to allow people to attack callers individually.
- 31:29Speaker 1: If you have something to contribute in that sense, we
- 31:32Speaker 1: contribute it.
- 31:33Speaker 8: Well, it's a fact. Here's what I'll contribute. He said
- 31:38Speaker 8: China's debt-to-GDP ratio exceeded 300%. Well, last year, China's debt-to-GDP
- 31:45Speaker 8: ratio exceeded 300% temporarily when considering total debt, including household
- 31:56Speaker 8: and corporate debt. Our GDP ratio is only government debt,
- 32:05Speaker 8: not everybody's debt. It's just that the GDP ratio this
- 32:10Speaker 8: year is projected to reach 90% by the end of 2026.
- 32:14Speaker 8: That's total debt. China's economy, unlike what Ted, the neoconservative,
- 32:24Speaker 8: is telling you, is doing just fine. And I don't
- 32:28Speaker 8: know what in the heck he was talking about. Containerships?
- 32:32Speaker 8: China far exceeds us in containerships. In fact, so bad
- 32:38Speaker 8: that Trump even was talking a while back about investing
- 32:42Speaker 8: taxpayer and government money into building more containerships. because we're
- 32:48Speaker 8: just so far behind China. So many countries and businesses
- 32:54Speaker 8: use Chinese lease and pay China to ship their goods
- 32:59Speaker 8: and services. So I'm afraid, Ted, the neoconservative, you don't
- 33:05Speaker 8: have a clue what you're talking about. And he said
- 33:08Speaker 8: that financial planner guy he was referring to me doesn't
- 33:14Speaker 8: know what I'm talking about. But you let him slide
- 33:18Speaker 8: with that. Ron, let me tell you something about China.
- 33:24Speaker 8: I'll say again, my China stocks are doing great. G2
- 33:29Speaker 8: said China's market was down 7% on May the 5th.
- 33:35Speaker 8: The HK50, Hong Kong's 50 largest stocks, was up 14.81%.
- 33:46Speaker 8: The CSI 300, Shanghai's 300th largest stock by market capitalization,
- 33:53Speaker 8: was up an incredible 26.2%. At that rate, the Shanghai
- 34:01Speaker 8: stock market would be up almost 80% by the end
- 34:05Speaker 8: of the year. In other words, if you invested $ 100, 000
- 34:08Speaker 8: on January the 1st, it would be worth almost $ 180, 000
- 34:15Speaker 8: at the end of the year at that rate, an
- 34:19Speaker 8: $ 80, 000 profit. So, Ted, you need to do your homework, buddy.
- 34:25Speaker 8: I analyzed China. I just got finished analyzing 542 Chinese
- 34:31Speaker 8: stocks about three months ago. But according to Ted, the neoconservative,
- 34:36Speaker 8: I don't know nothing about investing or China. But I'll
- 34:41Speaker 8: tell you this. Ron, I predict China will become increasingly isolationist,
- 34:47Speaker 8: the same as the founding fathers advised our government leaders.
- 34:53Speaker 8: China will trade with the rest of the world and
- 34:56Speaker 8: avoid expensive foreign entanglements. And, Ron, Trump's tech war against
- 35:02Speaker 8: China was a total failure. His trade war resulted in
- 35:06Speaker 8: China diversifying their exports in achieving a record-breaking trade surplus. Ron,
- 35:13Speaker 8: you want a country that is booming in exports. Our
- 35:18Speaker 8: country should be booming in exports. We don't want to
- 35:22Speaker 8: have to import everything from the rest of the world
- 35:29Speaker 8: and be dependent on so many countries. But, Ron, we
- 35:33Speaker 8: live in a world where... Free trade with all countries
- 35:39Speaker 8: will benefit everybody. You want a global economy. What happened
- 35:46Speaker 8: in the Great Depression?
- 35:47Speaker 1: Stand by, stand by. Fort Lauderdale, Frank. On News Radio
- 35:51Speaker 1: 570 WKBN, call us in line. Stand by. Back with
- 35:54Speaker 1: more right after this.
- 35:55Speaker 3: The Year. 570 WKBN.
- 35:56Speaker 1: All right, are you done talking about China, comrade?
- 36:01Speaker 8: Yes, sir, comrade.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Is there anything else you want to contribute besides telling
- 36:08Speaker 1: me how great China's economy is?
- 36:10Speaker 8: Well, you know, we're a nation of consumers and spenders.
- 36:14Speaker 8: China's a nation of savers and investors. And I want
- 36:20Speaker 8: to say something about Ted's big, beautiful wars in the
- 36:24Speaker 8: Middle East.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yes.
- 36:26Speaker 8: It's a destruction of a large portion of the earth's
- 36:29Speaker 8: Energy infrastructure, we've destroyed 30% of the world's helium supply,
- 36:36Speaker 8: an estimated 30% to 50% of the world's fertilizer, half
- 36:40Speaker 8: the world's sulfuric acid that we use for industry.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Let me cut to quick questions. Do you think the
- 36:45Speaker 1: war in Iran was a mistake, in your opinion? Yes
- 36:49Speaker 1: or no?
- 36:50Speaker 8: Yeah, I do.
- 36:51Speaker 1: All right. Do you think that Trump's going to have
- 36:54Speaker 1: a hard time getting out of it?
- 36:56Speaker 8: I think that's one of the reasons he went to China,
- 36:58Speaker 8: don't you?
- 36:59Speaker 1: I'm asking you. So you think it was a mistake
- 37:03Speaker 1: from the very beginning. He's having a hard time getting
- 37:05Speaker 1: out of it. Do you think that it's going to
- 37:07Speaker 1: cause more economic harm to our economy than we're seeing currently?
- 37:13Speaker 8: Yes, sir. The war is costing us $ 1 billion a day.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Do you think it will create more inflation?
- 37:22Speaker 8: Well, the headline financial news today was a war show.
- 37:27Speaker 8: They have no choice but to raise interest rates.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I'd hate to see that. All right, it's Fort Lauderdale, Frank.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Enjoy the weekend with those young women that are with you.
- 37:37Speaker 1: We'll be back.
- 37:43Speaker 6: From ABC News.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I'm Mike Daboski.
- 37:46Speaker 6: President Trump now wants the Internal Revenue Service to create
- 37:49Speaker 6: a $ 1. 7 billion fund aimed at paying out alleged victims
- 37:54Speaker 6: of government weaponization. The fund, which would be made up
- 37:57Speaker 6: of taxpayer dollars, is already generating pushback among Democrats, like
- 38:01Speaker 6: California Representative Pete Aguilar.
- 38:03Speaker 1: This is ridiculous, but this is exactly who he is.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Some way, somehow, he'll find a way to try to
- 38:08Speaker 4: pay himself, in addition to some of the $ 1, 500 million.
- 38:13Speaker 4: insurrectionists who he pardoned for trying to take over the
- 38:16Speaker 4: Capitol here.
- 38:16Speaker 6: The fund, which hasn't been created yet, comes after President
- 38:19Speaker 6: Trump agreed to drop his lawsuit against the IRS for
- 38:22Speaker 6: allegedly leaking his tax returns. The president himself is on
- 38:26Speaker 6: his way back to Washington right now following a summit
- 38:28Speaker 6: in China. Presidents Trump and Xi, while there, agreed on
- 38:32Speaker 6: a new vision of constructive strategic stability. Former Biden-era U.S.
- 38:37Speaker 6: ambassador to China, Nicholas Burns, tells ABC News there's reason
- 38:40Speaker 6: for skepticism.
- 38:41Speaker 7: If we do anything, we the United States that displeases China,
- 38:44Speaker 7: they'll say you're violating our strategic pact on stability. So
- 38:48Speaker 7: you can't sell those arms to Taiwan. You can't criticize
- 38:51Speaker 7: us that Jimmy Lai is in prison unjustly. in Hong Kong, etc.
- 38:56Speaker 6: The Centers for Disease Control now updating reporters about the
- 38:59Speaker 6: Hanta virus, saying no Americans are currently infected with the
- 39:03Speaker 6: Andes strain of the virus. At least 41 Americans in
- 39:06Speaker 6: 12 states are being monitored, though. And in France, a
- 39:09Speaker 6: woman is in the hospital in critical condition with the virus.
- 39:12Speaker 6: ABC News medical contributor Dr. Alok Patel.
- 39:14Speaker 9: We really are praying and rooting for this woman. But
- 39:17Speaker 9: Andes virus, Hanta virus, there is no known cure or
- 39:21Speaker 9: known preventive measure, but really what it is, it comes
- 39:25Speaker 9: down to supportive care. That's keeping the body and the
- 39:27Speaker 9: organs alive while the immune system does its best to
- 39:30Speaker 9: fight off the virus.
- 39:30Speaker 6: The CDC also says it's closely monitoring an outbreak of Ebola,
- 39:34Speaker 6: which started in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. You're
- 39:37Speaker 6: listening to ABC News.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Hot summer.
