- 0:02Speaker 1: Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the
- 0:06Speaker 1: children of God. Matthew 5.9 Dear Heavenly Father, You are
- 0:12Speaker 1: the ultimate peacemaker. When we were Your enemies, You called
- 0:17Speaker 1: us friends and children united under Your redemptive work. Your
- 0:23Speaker 1: aim is to bridge gaps between You and us, us
- 0:28Speaker 1: and each other, and within ourselves. As your children, I
- 0:34Speaker 1: pray we would all emulate your character by being peacemakers.
- 0:40Speaker 1: As we are transformed by your grace and love, may
- 0:44Speaker 1: we continually extend the same to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Thank you for joining me in prayer. Stay tuned for
- 0:57Speaker 1: today's free podcast, Meditative Prayers with Dr. Tim Clinton, where
- 1:02Speaker 1: you can draw close to God and find strength in Him.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Welcome to your meditative prayer on healing relationships. To get
- 1:15Speaker 2: the most out of your spiritual journey, use Pray.com every
- 1:18Speaker 2: day and make prayer a priority in your life. Our
- 1:24Speaker 2: goal for today's meditative prayer is healing relationships. Take a
- 1:28Speaker 2: moment to relax. Find a comfortable and quiet setting, a
- 1:34Speaker 2: place where you can focus and can be completely in
- 1:37Speaker 2: this moment of self-reflection. Close your eyes, take a deep breath,
- 1:43Speaker 2: and exhale. Release the thoughts that are floating around in
- 1:47Speaker 2: your mind. We will be meditating on Matthew 5-9 from
- 1:51Speaker 2: the King James Version, which says again, Blessed are the peacemakers,
- 1:56Speaker 2: for they shall be called the children of God. Now
- 1:59Speaker 2: take a moment to pour out your adoration to God
- 2:02Speaker 2: for his daily blessings of peace. God, I praise you
- 2:07Speaker 2: for your peace which surpasses all understanding. Your peace that
- 2:12Speaker 2: overcomes all circumstances, all fears and doubts. Bring your peace
- 2:19Speaker 2: to my heart, God. Calm my spirit. God, I worship
- 2:24Speaker 2: you for giving me the ability to be a peacemaker.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I praise you for calling me your child. I know
- 2:32Speaker 2: that you love me and that you have already provided
- 2:36Speaker 2: a resolution to all the conflict in my life. People
- 2:42Speaker 2: can be unkind. Others may say and do things that
- 2:48Speaker 2: will upset you, things that will hurt your heart, break
- 2:51Speaker 2: your trust. Some will even go out of their way
- 2:54Speaker 2: to harm you, create discord. There will be people in
- 3:00Speaker 2: your life who will steal your joy and peace, who
- 3:05Speaker 2: will make being a peacemaker seem impossible. And even though
- 3:08Speaker 2: at times it may be or seem difficult and daunting,
- 3:13Speaker 2: it can still be done. You must remember the calling
- 3:16Speaker 2: to live in peace and God's blessing that comes with it.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Let us now for a moment reflect on those relationships
- 3:30Speaker 2: that need tending to. Think of those connections, those relationships
- 3:35Speaker 2: that have been broken. Maybe a spouse, a child, friend, parent, co-worker.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Those relationships that are suffering. The situations that seem impossible.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Confess to the Lord all your hurt anger, and your pain.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Let God into the areas of your heart where his
- 4:03Speaker 2: peace does not yet reign. Take a moment now to
- 4:06Speaker 2: dwell on previous blessings of peace that you've enjoyed. Blessings
- 4:14Speaker 2: from past relationships that were broken, but God helped you
- 4:17Speaker 2: fix them. Think of the delight brought as a result
- 4:20Speaker 2: of peace. Recollect on past situations where you reached out
- 4:27Speaker 2: to turn anger into an agreement. Thank God for past
- 4:34Speaker 2: resolutions and the fruits of growth and joy from those relationships.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Give thanks for the moments free from the fear and hostility.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Thank God for the blessings of past peaceful, reconciled relationships.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And for those yet to come, thank him for the
- 5:00Speaker 2: courage and the boldness to stand up for peace. And
- 5:07Speaker 2: do not forget, God is present. He is listening to you.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Once again, bringing to mind those connections, those relationships that
- 5:16Speaker 2: you're struggling with, ask God for the ability to resolve
- 5:20Speaker 2: those conflicts. God, bring peace and reconciliation to those relationships.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Mend old bridges and build new ones. Pray for peace
- 5:36Speaker 2: in all your interactions. Peace with your family and your friendships.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Peace with your superiors at work, your colleagues. Peace in
- 5:45Speaker 2: every area, every aspect, and every relationship in your life.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Remember again, God has called you to be a peacemaker.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You are to strive to bring peace where there is
- 5:59Speaker 2: discord and disagreement. To work towards living amicably and in
- 6:03Speaker 2: unity with everyone. The Bible says, as much as in
- 6:08Speaker 2: you is, be at peace with all men. Peace can
- 6:12Speaker 2: be achieved. Though obedience to God's word and a desire
- 6:16Speaker 2: to bring harmony to all relationships, you can become a peacemaker.
- 6:21Speaker 2: and be called a child of God. Thank you for
- 6:25Speaker 2: completing today's meditative prayer on Pray.com. By incorporating this healthy
- 6:31Speaker 2: habit into your daily practice, you are making prayer a priority,
- 6:37Speaker 2: and I believe strengthening your walk with God.
