- 2:53Speaker 1: just the same two. So wanted to let you guys
- 2:57Speaker 1: know that today we are heading over to Utah, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'm telling you, after watching the Real Housewives of Salt
- 3:06Speaker 1: Lake City, I just want to say, if that's what
- 3:12Speaker 1: the population's like, it's a beautiful place. But these grown
- 3:16Speaker 1: women need to straighten up. Okay, they need to straighten
- 3:22Speaker 1: up now. Utah sits of the crossroads of Desert Mountains
- 3:27Speaker 1: and Red Rock Canyon Country. Like I said, it is beautiful.
- 3:31Speaker 1: It's got some of the most striking landscape in the
- 3:35Speaker 1: United States. I mean, let's just be honest. It's amazing.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They've got national parks, they've got Salt Lake City, which
- 3:44Speaker 1: has amazing skiing. Some women that need to grow up
- 3:47Speaker 1: just a little bit, and the state has grown rapidly
- 3:52Speaker 1: in recent years. With cities like Salt Lake City because
- 3:57Speaker 1: it's a cultural and an economic hub. Guys, it's the
- 4:01Speaker 1: smaller communities that are deeply connected to outdoor and good
- 4:06Speaker 1: old fashioned American values. Now, guys, Sadly, the wide open
- 4:13Speaker 1: terrain there in Utah, a lot of people go missing, Okay.
- 4:18Speaker 1: According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, roughly six
- 4:23Speaker 1: to eight hundred missing person cases are reported annually across
- 4:27Speaker 1: the state, with one hundred and fifty open and active
- 4:31Speaker 1: cases currently, and we're going to cover two of them today. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I do want to let y'all know this first case
- 4:40Speaker 1: that I am covering, you will probably see it come
- 4:44Speaker 1: up again because I am going to be talking to
- 4:48Speaker 1: a family member, maybe even have them on the show.
- 4:52Speaker 1: But I still wanted to go ahead and cover the
- 4:54Speaker 1: case now while we get that worked out, Okay. So,
- 5:00Speaker 1: Candace rose May Harris was sixteen years old when she
- 5:04Speaker 1: disappeared from Salt Lake City, Utah, in July of twenty
- 5:09Speaker 1: twenty one. She was born on January twelfth, two thousand
- 5:13Speaker 1: and five, and guys, she would be twenty one years
- 5:16Speaker 1: old now. Candace is described as a white female with
- 5:20Speaker 1: dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Although Her natural hair
- 5:24Speaker 1: color is blonde. Her hair has been dyed dark brown
- 5:28Speaker 1: at the time of her disappearance. She is approximately five
- 5:32Speaker 1: feet three inches tall and weighs around one hundred and
- 5:35Speaker 1: thirty five pounds. Kendis has pierced ears and appearcing on
- 5:39Speaker 1: the right side of her upper lip, and she make
- 5:43Speaker 1: up by the name Brooklyn. Now, Candace has had a
- 5:48Speaker 1: rough ride doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to be found.
- 5:52Speaker 1: She does have a medical condition that requires constant medication.
- 5:57Speaker 1: She also has a history of drug abuse. Candace was
- 6:02Speaker 1: last seen in Salt Lake City on July fifteenth, twenty
- 6:06Speaker 1: twenty one. At the time, she was enrolled in an
- 6:09Speaker 1: inpatient substance abuse treatment program at Odyssey House, which is
- 6:14Speaker 1: a facility that provides treatment for teens experiencing emotional distress
- 6:20Speaker 1: and substance abuse issues. Now on that day, Candace was
- 6:25Speaker 1: seen jumping over a fence and leaving the grounds of
- 6:28Speaker 1: the treatment center guys. She never returned. Now. In the
- 6:34Speaker 1: months leading up to her disappearance, Candace had been awarded
- 6:38Speaker 1: the state of Utah and had been placed in multiple
- 6:41Speaker 1: treatment centers. She had previously run away from Odyssey House
- 6:46Speaker 1: three separate times and had been returned each time. My guys,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'm looking forward to talking to the family.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But I have to say, does anyone else think that
- 6:58Speaker 1: this's a problem, That an inpatient facility like Odyssey House
- 7:04Speaker 1: has a problem and the patients are able to keep escaping.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I mean I see that as a problem. I don't know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: but to me, I see that is a problem. Okay. Now,
- 7:18Speaker 1: After leaving the facility, Candace remained active on social media
- 7:23Speaker 1: for four days, although she was not allowed to have
- 7:26Speaker 1: a cellular phone while at Odyssey House. Her previous phone
- 7:30Speaker 1: had never been located. After those four days, her social
- 7:35Speaker 1: media activity abruptly stopped and is never resumed. Guys, that's
- 7:40Speaker 1: a big deal for a sixteen year old. Okay, that
- 7:43Speaker 1: is a big deal. Now. There were possible sightings of
- 7:47Speaker 1: Candace in the local Salt Lake City area after she
- 7:51Speaker 1: went missing, including around Liberty Park and in areas near
- 7:56Speaker 1: North Temple and State Street. Guys, these sightings have not
- 8:00Speaker 1: been confirmed. Now. Authorities also have investigated the possibility that
- 8:07Speaker 1: Candace may have become a victim of human trafficking. Guys,
- 8:11Speaker 1: when I told you she had a rough start, Candace
- 8:13Speaker 1: had previously been trafficked in the past, and guys, once
- 8:18Speaker 1: someone is trafficked, I know somebody and I've become close
- 8:23Speaker 1: with them. Who works to find people who are being trafficked.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's hard. Those people have their hooks into them, they
- 8:32Speaker 1: get them back. I mean, they are so potentially able
- 8:38Speaker 1: to get trafficked again. So it's a big deal, okay,
- 8:44Speaker 1: human trafficking. Human trafficking experts working in the Salt Lake
- 8:49Speaker 1: City area said there were indicators that she possibly had
- 8:54Speaker 1: been trafficked again. God said, that breaks my freaking heart.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Kendice Riviera, the CEO and founder of the anti human
- 9:05Speaker 1: trafficking organization Exodus, said outreach teams have been working to
- 9:10Speaker 1: collect information about Candace. One of the biggest signs is
- 9:15Speaker 1: that they're not able to contact their family. Rivia said,
- 9:19Speaker 1: if Candace is still here, which were led to believe
- 9:23Speaker 1: she is, she's probably just being hidden very well. Riviera
- 9:29Speaker 1: explained that human trafficking often involves the exploitation of vulnerable individuals,
- 9:34Speaker 1: including those struggling with substance abuse, mental health challenges, or
- 9:39Speaker 1: difficult economic situations. Traffickers may threaten victims of their families
- 9:45Speaker 1: and exploit them for monetary gain. Guys, they've also been
- 9:50Speaker 1: known to get them addicted to drugs, keep them so
- 9:54Speaker 1: dropped up that they can't try to get away okay.
- 10:00Speaker 1: His grandmother, Diane Carpenter, said Candace had always maintained contact
- 10:04Speaker 1: with her family, even during difficult times, which makes her
- 10:09Speaker 1: silence even more Concerning guys she still kept in touch,
- 10:15Speaker 1: her grandmother said to a reporter, Candace, if you're out
- 10:19Speaker 1: there and you have a chance to see this, know
- 10:22Speaker 1: that your family loves you and we want you to
- 10:26Speaker 1: come home. Family members have also said Candace had experienced
- 10:32Speaker 1: significant trauma in the years before her disappearance, including the
- 10:36Speaker 1: loss of the grandfather who had adopted and raised her,
- 10:40Speaker 1: and the death of her boyfriend from an overdose. Guys,
- 10:44Speaker 1: that is a lot at sixteen, and she had been
- 10:47Speaker 1: trafficked before. Her aunt Brian Sager said Candace had been
- 10:52Speaker 1: trying to cope with those losses while working through substance
- 10:56Speaker 1: abuse treatment. Candace had a lot of trauma. She was
- 11:00Speaker 1: dealing with a lot of emotion she was trying to
- 11:03Speaker 1: get through, Seger said. Despite the challenges, Candace's spaced family
- 11:10Speaker 1: members describe her as someone with a big heart who
- 11:14Speaker 1: cared deeply about her family, Guys This is not a
- 11:19Speaker 1: young lady who would put her family through this by choice.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I don't know her, but that's what it sounds like
- 11:28Speaker 1: to me. Okay. When Candace disappeared, her family said it
- 11:33Speaker 1: was different from previous times she had run away because, guys,
- 11:38Speaker 1: when she ran away, she still stayed in contact with them.
- 11:41Speaker 1: There's been no communication none. Okay. The family is now
- 11:47Speaker 1: offering a thirty thousand dollars reward for information that leads
- 11:52Speaker 1: to her whereabouts. The family does have a Facebook page,
- 11:56Speaker 1: Bring Candace Home to help keep her story alive. No
- 12:01Speaker 1: one has been charged in connection with their disappearance. Her
- 12:04Speaker 1: family is still looking for her. Anyone with information about
- 12:10Speaker 1: Candace Harris or her disappearance is asked to contact the
- 12:14Speaker 1: Salt Lake City Police Department at eight oh one seven
- 12:18Speaker 1: nine to nine, three thousand. Guys, there is so many
- 12:28Speaker 1: heartbreaking things about this. She was someplace, impatient, he thought
- 12:32Speaker 1: she would be safe, She shouldn't be able to get away, right,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and here she's gone missing again. So I'm gonna ask
- 12:39Speaker 1: all of you to please go to our Midday Missing
- 12:42Speaker 1: Facebook page. If you're on Facebook, share Candace's missing person
- 12:48Speaker 1: poster that will be posted there right after this show.
- 12:51Speaker 1: You can also find it anywhere on any of my
- 12:55Speaker 1: social media pages. Okay, hello miss La, nice to see
- 13:01Speaker 1: you there. I know this case is so sad and
- 13:04Speaker 1: I am looking forward to talking to her relative and
- 13:09Speaker 1: having her on the show and finding out more about
- 13:12Speaker 1: this case. Guys, if you know of or you have
- 13:17Speaker 1: a loved one who's missing and you are interested in
- 13:20Speaker 1: having their story featured on an upcoming episode or maybe
- 13:24Speaker 1: even join me live for an interview, you can email
- 13:29Speaker 1: me at Terry t e r I at tcwtmedia dot com,
- 13:35Speaker 1: or any of our true crime and mind Time social
- 13:38Speaker 1: media accounts, or Terry true Crime. Okay, now, guys, this
- 13:45Speaker 1: next case, I cannot find a lot of information, but
- 13:49Speaker 1: what I did find broke my heart. Okay, we're in
- 13:54Speaker 1: Salt Lake City again. Salt Lake City, what's going on
- 13:58Speaker 1: your housewives? There are adults that need to act like
- 14:02Speaker 1: adults instead of children, and these people are going missing.
- 14:06Speaker 1: What's going on there? Cedric who went by said Palmyer
- 14:11Speaker 1: was thirty seven, was reported missing after he was last
- 14:14Speaker 1: seen in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the morning of
- 14:17Speaker 1: April twentieth, twenty twenty five. He was last seen around
- 14:22Speaker 1: eight a m near the fifteen hundred block of South
- 14:26Speaker 1: Clayton Street. He was reported missing the very next day.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Now said is considered endangered. Please say, he is autistic
- 14:37Speaker 1: and lives with reduce mental capacity, and he also has schizophrenia. Guys,
- 14:43Speaker 1: that makes him extremely vulnerable for people who want to
- 14:48Speaker 1: do bad things. Now, he is known to frequent areas
- 14:52Speaker 1: near downtown shelters and the main city library. Guys, I
- 14:57Speaker 1: want you to look at his face. Any One who
- 15:00Speaker 1: sees Cedric Palmier or has information about his whereabouts is
- 15:06Speaker 1: urged to contact the Salt Lake City Police Department at
