- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So everyone loves a success story, but very few actually appreciate the long slow grind that it takes to reach success.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: If you don't trust the process, you only sabotage your progress.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: If you ever feel stuck because you're not seeing the results yet, then this video is meant for you.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: The fact that you press play means you are building something, a dream, a habit, a career.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: You're trying to make something of your life, but you feel as though you're not getting there fast enough.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm here to let you know it is all part of the process.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: You need to go through what you're going through to get to where you need to be.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: The current world we live in has completely forgotten about delayed gratification.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: You know, because of social media and the swipe mentality and everybody only posting the highlights of their life out there for the world to see, we have this misconception that great things come quickly.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: People believe that, oh, this person just started their business and they're sold out.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: You know, this guy just started learning how to play football and now he's playing for Manchester United.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: We you know, there's this girl who just left university and she just bought uh a Gucci bag because she's making so much in her first job.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: It doesn't work like that.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Good things take time.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: You need to go through the process to be able to come out at the end a winner.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Nobody ever builds success overnight.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: There's a reason they say Rome was not built in a day.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: If you've ever had to do construction work, you know certain things you cannot rush it.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: When you mix concrete, there's an amount of days that it's going to take regardless.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: You cannot rush that process.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: You need to wait.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: And it's the same for everything in our lives.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: You know, we have so many people right now, you have a 21-year-old, 22-year-old who just started work, and they are looking at somebody who's 40, looking at the car they drive, you know, the clothes they wear, the places they go, and they want to live that life.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Nobody is saying you can't live that life.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: But you need to go through the process to be able to live that life.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: That person has saved over years.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: That person has worked hard for the promotion.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: They have built up their selves, built up their resilience.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: They've gone through the process.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: You know, in 1970, they did the most famous experiment with children ever, which is known as the Stanford Marshmallow Experiment.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: The experiment was simple but brilliant.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: They put a number of four to five year olds alone in a room, and then their parent tells them that here's one marshmallow, and they put it on top of the table for them and explain, I'm going out and I'll be right back.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: If you don't eat the marshmallow, when I come back, you get two marshmallows.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: But if you eat it, that's it.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Then you leave the child for 15 minutes and see what they do.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Now, some of them instantly grabbed the marshmallow and just ate it.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Some of them, you know, fidgeted around for a bit, waited a few minutes, grabbed the marshmallow and ate it.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: But some of them were actually disciplined enough to wait for the 15 minutes and then got two marshmallows.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Now, the beauty of the experiment was the follow-up that they did years later, where they realized that the children who actually waited for the second marshmallow as well had ended up being more successful in the things that they were doing.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: They had higher grades, more likelihood, I mean, less likelihood of doing drugs, they were performing better in sports, different areas.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: But the children who had the patience and were able to trust the process were actually more likely to succeed than those who couldn't wait.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: It's a perfect example that shows us that everything takes time, everything has a process.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, in trusting the process, you still need a growth mindset because patience also needs belief.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: You need to be patient and know that what you are doing is going to get you there eventually.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: When you sign up for gym membership, I find it so funny.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: People sign up to the gym, they go the first week, second week, third week, and they are like, ah, it's not working.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Still the same weights, and they stop and they say the gym doesn't work.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: But somebody else goes for a long time, for two years, three years, four years, and eventually they have that fit body that they are looking for.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: They have the lifestyle that they are looking for because they knew with certainty that they will get there, and it's only a matter of time.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I know an influenza who has, I heard a story about them where they have hundreds of thousands of followers, and nobody understands how they got there.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: They keep saying maybe they bought followers and stuff, but it was very simple.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: She consistently posted multiple videos every single day.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: For a long time, nobody was mining the videos.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: But after a while, when it started to get traction, the organic growth was just like an explosion because she trusted the process.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: You have somebody, you know, who just started a podcast and they've done their fifth video and they're saying, Why don't I have enough views?
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Of course, you don't have enough views.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: You just started your podcast.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Take your time, it will come.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: People like Mr.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Beast, like speed, they didn't start seeing success till maybe after their hundredth video or so.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: So, how dare you, after five videos, give up?
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Why do we just start and feel we are not doing good enough?
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Keep going.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: One thing you need to understand about an expert or a professional is they started out as an amateur.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Cristiano Ronaldo was once an amateur.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: I watched a video of Ed Sharon, an interview, where he mentioned the fact that everybody believes Ed Sharon is an amazing singer and has always been an amazing singer.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: And then he played a video from years ago on YouTube, and his singing was horrific.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: Like it was just, you can't believe that's Ed Sharon.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And he laughed and told people that yes, this is how he started.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: But after practicing and practicing and learning from his mistakes, he became the Ed Sharon that we know now.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: He trusted the process.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you know the story about Tyler Perry, the billionaire filmmaker Tyler Perry.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: He started, I think he wrote his first play in 1992, and that play flopped.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Nobody paid attention to the play.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: But he didn't stop.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: He got bankrupt after writing that play, and nobody was minding him.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: He slept in his car, but he kept writing the same play, he kept rewriting the same play over and over and over and over again for six years until in 1998, finally the play succeeded.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: And then his career just took off from there.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Which means if Tyler Perry hadn't trusted the process for six years, he wouldn't be where he is right now.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: So that could be you I'm talking about.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: You are probably in the third month of starting that new goal.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: You just started your business.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: Nobody's patronizing you.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And you are coming online and saying your friends don't help you, your friends don't want to patronize your business.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: You know, you just started learning the guitar and your fingers are hurting, and you are saying that, you know, I don't think I was made for this.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: You just started learning how to play football.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: And every time you get the ball, the defender just sweeps you off the ground and you're complaining that this isn't cut out for me.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not cut out for this.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: But that could be you if you keep grinding, because grit beats talent.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Nobody was born talented.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Nobody was born fortunate.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Nobody was born with a silver spoon in their mouth.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Because guess what?
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: If you don't have the grit, if you don't go through the process, you will lose every opportunity and advantage that you have.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: You need to trust the process.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: One thing you hear most people complain about is pain, is struggle.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: But what they don't understand is pain and struggle are the best part of the journey.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Because instant pleasure actually kills your long-term happiness.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: I think we all know that artist who has one hit song and never had anything after that.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Or we all know that businessman who had one bright idea and couldn't sustain it.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Instant pleasure prevents you from learning the skills, the lessons, the experiences, developing the grits that allows you to keep going.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: You need to go through the process to properly build yourself to be the person that can handle the success that you so desperately are looking for.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: So the next time you see anything like lose 10 pounds in three days, make ten thousand dollars in two weeks, any of those short-term goals, any of those short-term promises, please know it's a scam.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Because you cannot, I repeat, you cannot build anything good quickly.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: As I'm talking about pain and pleasure, have you ever noticed that you experience the most pleasure when you overcome the biggest challenges?
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: That dream you fought for feels better than something that was just handed to you.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: And it's because internally, when you are able to stay disciplined and stay on track, you build up a trust for yourself.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: It's like every time you go to the gym and you finish one rep, your mind knows it can trust you to do what you need to do.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Anytime you're able to buckle down and finish that assignment that was given to you, you become a little happier.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: You trust the process, knowing that you yourself are trustworthy.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And the main reason that discipline actually builds happiness inside is because of what we call the happiness hormone, dopamine.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: Your mind releases a hormone called dopamine.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Every time you're able to overcome a challenge, dopamine actually lets people get addicted to overcoming things.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Every time that that's why if you're playing a video game and you finish the next level, then you're so excited to keep going.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Because your mind gets pleasure from knowing that it is productive.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: So one of the tricks to being happy is find a challenge and overcome it.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Find a problem and solve it.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Solve a new problem every single day, and you will see your mind just light up with joy.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So that's what it means to trust the process because most greatness is built in silence, it's built in the core daily, mundane tasks that you need to do to become the person who deserves the success.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: So don't stop.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Don't stop as your seed is germinating and is about to break earth.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Don't stop as your idea is just about to bear fruit and turn into a company that will one day become a multi-million dollar company.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Don't stop as you are just building your skill, learning that talent, and are about to break through for the world to love you.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Don't stop as your podcast is just 20 more videos away from receiving a million views per video.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Have belief in yourself, believe in your goal, and trust the process.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: So now I have to ask: Is there a dream that you have?
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Is there a project you're working on?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Is there something you are building that you are doubting and believing that is not going to work because you've not seen the instant results?
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: You need to question that belief now.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: You need to look deep inside yourself.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: Question if you really want this.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: Because if you do, you have to go through the hard times, you have to go through the struggle, and you will eventually succeed.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: So stop doubting yourself, trust the process, and actually become the true mastermind.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: I know you can be.
