- 1:07Well, now it is time for today's episode of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar.
- 1:11As we continue on with parts three and four of The Primrose Matter from Hollywood,
- 1:19It's time now for Johnny Dollar. Hello, Hello, Hello, what's
- 1:23that? I can't quite This is Johnny Dollar. I'm phoning from a patrol
- 1:27phone Forest Service Summit road. Okay, you're coming through now? Is that
- 1:32Lieutenant Mervin Right? I should have known it was you. What are you
- 1:34doing up there in the mountains? Is this a man hunter of a case.
- 1:37Relaxed, lieutenant, before you use some words, you'll have to eat.
- 1:41Call in your APB. I found that stolen car the nit's In gang
- 1:44was using where up here in the Santa Rita Mountains, about a mile from
- 1:48Primrose Camp pop Ardell. Yeah, they ran it off a cliff and started
- 1:52a rock slide to bury it. One of them still in the car dead,
- 1:56two bullet wounds. You must have hit him when they crashed your roadblock.
- 1:59That makes two days and leaves Jipper Ninsen and one other one still on
- 2:01the loose. All right, miss a Dollar, I'll have fifty men combing
- 2:05that area within an hour and a half. You will not there's something wrong
- 2:08at Bardell's place. You bring fifty state troopers in here, you may busted,
- 2:12wide open, wide open. That's what I'm trying to find out tonight
- 2:23and every weekday night. Bob Bailey and the Transcribed Adventures of the Man with
- 2:27the Action Packed expens Coud America's Fabulous Freelance Insurance Investigator Areas Truly Johnny Dollar.
- 2:45From Special Investigator Johnny Dollar location in Santa Rita National Forest, Southern Arizona to
- 2:51the home office mid State's Industrial Insurance Company Hartford, Connecticut assignment the Primrose matter
- 2:57expense account continued. It took a lot of arguing to get Lieutenant Mervyn of
- 3:05the State Highway Police to hold his men off for twenty four hours, but
- 3:07he finally gave him one hundred thousand dollars. That was the amount of the
- 3:12in short payroll in its and gang had got away with in Kansas City,
- 3:15killing two guards in the process. Later, they shot their way through a
- 3:19roadblock in southern Arizona, left a state trooper and one of the gang dead
- 3:22in the road behind them, and then disappeared. I was certain the answer
- 3:25was at Primrose camp evening, mister Parnell choked in their shop for gut.
- 3:38No. I told you i'd stop on the way back down. Got a
- 3:43vacancy Yet on one of those caps you're already. Ah, that's too bad.
- 3:46I noticed they're dark by the way, and there are still no cars
- 3:51parking in front of you. You don't signify. What do you suppose all
- 3:53your guests are lost bag in the hills somewhere. Couldn't see now. Maybe
- 3:58some of them went down to the highway for the night. I could turn
- 4:00the cavin back over to them. If they happen to show up when there
- 4:03rendered or rented, makes no difference if the folks ain't here to use them.
- 4:06Well, that's true, I suppose, technically. But when a traveler
- 4:11is badly need of a place for the night and you've got cabin standing out
- 4:14to told you before, it's better you're go on down to the highway.
- 4:17There's plenty of motels within a few miles of the junction. That's exactly my
- 4:20trouble, mister Bardell. I can why not because it's almost dark now and
- 4:26I haven't got any lights. Yeah, this is a rented car. I
- 4:29should have tried the headlights before I took it out, but I didn't.
- 4:32Now when I need them, they won't work. See, it's probably just
- 4:38a fuse bload. I might be turn the flashlight up under the dash here,
- 4:43won't take what it's sick to tell now what it is? No uses
- 4:48seemed to be all right, flop and wire maybe hut say, oh,
- 4:53I think you might be able to fix it. No, No, it's
- 4:55it's your job for an electrician. I ain't got the equipment to trace it.
- 4:58Hey, is that your station? Where in there? At the side
- 5:00of the lunchroom. What well, look, i'd be glad to pay if
- 5:03you drive me down to where I can No, no, no, I
- 5:05can't. I can't leave here. Or maybe your nephew could take me.
- 5:10Huh? The young fellow who was here this afternoon when I came back.
- 5:13No, no, no, he's not familiar with the road. I drove
- 5:16down and picked up the mail this morning, didn't he? Let you know?
- 5:20Jake down at the barn grill? I have to mention it. Just
- 5:25who are you anyway? Oh? I guess I did forget to introduce myself
- 5:29this afternoon. My name's Johnny Dolloman. I had not done not your name.
- 5:31I mean, what are you up here for? Walking around prospecting a
- 5:36little, seeing the country? Your nephew did go down for the mail,
- 5:42didn't he? But that was in the day. Like Look, you said
- 5:45you had a sleeping bag with you. It ain't cold tonight, Why don't
- 5:48you that's a good idea. I can spread it out right there on the
- 5:51porch in front of your sowinger. Sh No, no, I don't mean
- 5:54here down the road some please. I don't quite understand your attitude. I've
- 6:00always understood you Western as we're noted for your hospitality. Well, it's just
- 6:04that it makes that missus nervous that to have strangers around outside. And how
- 6:11am I supposed to get down the road someplace I don't know what the foot
- 6:15maybe in the dark and strange country. Oh and I tell Jake this,
- 6:18He won't believe us. What don't see anything to Jake? He wouldn't understand.
- 6:25Well neither do I. I can't do anything for you, mister Dollard.
- 6:29Just take my word for it now and go on before your cause board
- 6:32trouble and you trouble, uncle, What trouble you're talking about, Well,
- 6:41it's not trouble exactly. The lights is out on his car. He just
- 6:46wants me to put him up for the night. You have hard luck,
- 6:48don't you, mister Calise. I told him just like I did this afternoon.
- 6:54We ain't got no place for him. He'll have to find something he
- 6:57can take care of him, Uncle, as long as he's that i't just
- 7:00to stay. I said what the cabins would get all rindered, and it's
- 7:06not likely the people in number two will be back. He can use that
- 7:10one for the night. But you better go see if it's in shape.
- 7:13Uncle, go on, all right, I'll go look it. I'm much
- 7:19applied to you for changing his mind. That's okay. We wouldn't want you
- 7:26to go away and tell bad stories about us, would We might cause trouble.
- 7:35Expense account. I him seven five dollars payment in advance for one night's
- 7:39red on cabin number two from Rose tourist Camp. The room in the bed
- 7:43were far from inviting, but it didn't matter, Hush. I didn't look
- 7:46for any easy night's rest under the best of circumstances, not with a feeling
- 7:50of tension and danger that hung over this place and the almost certain knowledge the
- 7:55two desperate killers were only yards away from him. This is by that,
- 7:59all, pops. I've took my payment to the room and made change in
- 8:01the lunch room next door to the service station. We'll have to give you
- 8:05ones. Mister dollar got five dollar bill, that's all right, there's two,
- 8:09three or five seat? No nothing, but I could surestand something to
- 8:16eat. Well. I could cook you up some ham and eggs. I
- 8:20guess some coffee if that'll do you. Sure, sure fine. The only
- 8:24time I fix any regular meals aside from short orders when we got the cabins
- 8:28full, and they're not full now I take it out. No not,
- 8:33I mean, well, they're rented the course, but the folks aren't eating
- 8:37here. I see you want your eggs sunnyside up. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:43that'll be fine. Must get kind of lonso for you up here when the
- 8:48season slacks off. I got my man and my daughter. How old is
- 8:54your daughter, missus Bardell? Jenny was twenty month before last. Oh well,
- 9:00I imagine she's a big help to you. Yes, she takes care
- 9:03of the souvenir shop on her own, helps me here in the lunch room
- 9:05when I get real busy. Yeah, I noticed the clothes sign on the
- 9:09door of the shop. Is your daughter away at the present? No,
- 9:13she's she's not feeling well today. She's in her room. I hope it's
- 9:20nothing serious. No, sheould be all right. She's got to be.
- 9:26Then it is something serious. No, I didn't mean it that way.
- 9:31It's nothing. Forget it. Well, look, if there's anything I can
- 9:33do, nothing forget us that anything you're gonna want toast and I'll Bret will
- 9:39be fine. And there you are. I hope that's gonna be enough for
- 9:46you. Bunny cream in your coffee black. Please, Yeah, this looks
- 9:50great. You're a good cook, Missus. Right now, ham an eggs
- 9:54don't prove nothing. Anybody can fix that. Oh, you'd be surprised be
- 10:00leaving in the morning. I suppose well. I'd like to stay several days,
- 10:03but I don't know whether your husband will let me have a cabin any
- 10:05longer. He can't help hisself. He just can't help it. Why not
- 10:09pull the cabins are rented, that's all. When I put my stuff in
- 10:13number two there was no sign of any other luggage. They took it all
- 10:18out. I was right there all the times, I mean earlier, mister
- 10:22Dollar. We're in terrible danger, all of us. You too, What
- 10:24kind of danger? I can't tell you. Please. If I talk about
- 10:28it on go old pieces, you don't know what it's like. I might
- 10:31be able to help you. No, the only way you can help is
- 10:35to forget it. Not ask any questions. This place is a powder keg.
- 10:39Don't do anything to say at all, Please, mister dollar. I'd
- 10:45have ate a dollar and ten cents one order of ham and egges. Missus
- 10:48Bardell refused to say anything more, and I didn't try to force her to
- 10:52She was shaking cold sweat on her forehead. Scared half to death. I
- 10:58walked down unto the porch, sat down cigarette and watch the stars come out,
- 11:01one by one, sharp and bright against the black mamba sky. The
- 11:07Bondell's living quarters were back at a souvenir shop, and there were no lights
- 11:09showing in them. If their daughter Jenny was in her room, ill she
- 11:15was back there in the dark. After a while, I went to my
- 11:18cabin. As I fumbled around for a light, s which I suddenly realized,
- 11:22somebody was standing in the doorway. Reckon, you're going to have fuse
- 11:26an oil lamp tonight, mister dollar generator's got a drive belt busted night ain't
- 11:31been able to get out to fetch one. Oh, I don't mind,
- 11:35mister by now. The lamp's are on the table a lady for you now,
- 11:39and you can blow it out when you go to bed. Sure,
- 11:41all right, fine? You had not to pay no attention to the missus
- 11:48what she said a while ago. I didn't realize she'd said anything welse she
- 11:52was telling me. She spouted off some foolishness might be tucked wrong. If
- 11:58a man was to pay any mine do it if that gets to smoke and
- 12:03you have to turn it down some Okay, missus Bardell did seem a little
- 12:09upset at you, That's all it is, mister Dollard, just upset.
- 12:13You know how women get sometimes. Just forget it. It's the best thing
- 12:16to do. Anything you need now before I leave you, No, no,
- 12:22nothing, I can think of it. Thanks anyway, then I reckon,
- 12:26I'll say good night. You can have your breakfast in the morning anytime
- 12:28after about seven o'clock, Jake Meeker was telling me you have a daughter,
- 12:33mister Bardell. That's right. I didn't notice her around anywhere this evening.
- 12:39She's in the tuc Sons for a few days. Oh yeah, she's in
- 12:43the visiting friends. Oh I see. Well, then you are lucky to
- 12:48have your nephew here to help you while she's away. But yeah, yeah,
- 12:54it works out real good. He's been here for some time, I
- 12:56suppose, oh yeah, several No, seems to be a lot of help
- 13:01to you. Really takes hold of things. I don't know what to do
- 13:05without him. He'll see you in the morning, mister. Yeah, Jake
- 13:13Meager told me your nephew just came yesterday. Jake drinks too much. He's
- 13:18always getting things mixed up. And missus Mindell told me a little while ago
- 13:22that your daughter's out back in her room. Ill not in Tucson. It's
- 13:26like I was saying, the missus is all upset. She she just don't
- 13:31rightly know what she's saying. And one more thing, I noticed the front
- 13:33end of my car has been jacked up and the right front wheel has been
- 13:37taken off. The tire went flat. We'll fix it and put it back
- 13:41on in the morning. Good night, mister Dollar, Johnny Dollar, this
- 13:50is j Marsh. Mister Dollar. Yeah, I've been waiting for you to
- 13:52call. The Horas ranger come down to my cabin and said you was calling
- 13:56from one of the emergency phones. Figured it must be kind him partner.
- 14:00It is Jed. I'm at the fire patrol phone a mile below Primrose Camp
- 14:03the Summit Road. Can you meet me here? It's time of night fall,
- 14:05mile across the rage, John Foot, Well, you're a woodsman,
- 14:09aren't you, And that's what you told me this afternoon. Well, I
- 14:11just met the Bardell's. You're a longtime friend of theirs, aren't you?
- 14:15Something wrong it, pops? Please, I think there's something badly wrong.
- 14:18He and his wife are scared half to death for some reason. I haven't
- 14:20seen the daughter, and Pop and his wife have each told me a different
- 14:24story about her that don't sound like them tall Well, they're obviously under some
- 14:26kind of pressure. That so called nephew seems to be running the show.
- 14:31I told you, poping nephew. He has now jed. You got any
- 14:35idea? What's behind it, mister Dolla? Yes, I think it's tied
- 14:37in with one hundred thousand dollars payroll robbery. That wreck car we found this
- 14:41afternoon. Three murders, and you'd better meet me up here as soon as
- 14:45you can tonight and every weekday night. Bob Bailey and the Transcribed Adventures of
- 14:56the Man with the Action Packed Expensive Out America's Fabulous freelance and insurance Investigators,
- 15:01Truly Johnny Dollar. From Special Investigator Johnny Dollar, Location Primrose Camp, Arizona
- 15:18to the home office mid State's Industrial Insurance Company, Highfrid, Connecticut. Assignment
- 15:24the Primrose matter. The expense account continued. Jed Marsh, an old time
- 15:31prospector, was a good friend of the Bardell's operators of the Lonely tourist camp
- 15:35on a dead end road high up in the Santa Rita Mountains, and I
- 15:39counted on that friend ship to sway him. It did. He finally agreed
- 15:43to come. I hung up the range of patrol phone and sat down on
- 15:46a flat pine stumped to wait for him. And I hoped it wouldn't be
- 15:50too long await. The night wind sang, and the high branches overhead,
- 15:54and his shadows and the moonlight formed strange moving patterns of silver and black.
- 15:58It wasn't a good night for a jump your imagination. I started to reach
- 16:03for a cigarette and Matches, got your hands up. He was behind me
- 16:07and I couldn't see him, but I knew the voice. It was Pop
- 16:10Pardell's mysterious nephew. Get him up. Move you're up late? So are
- 16:15you just keeping? And we'll see if you got it? Uh. I
- 16:22figured you'd be packing a run self protection. I understand there are a lot
- 16:27of snakes around here. Maybe you understand too much. Dollar. I suppose
- 16:33you followed me from the camp. You were a good supposer. What's the
- 16:36game? Well, I'm a birdwatcher and I specialize in observing the quaint habits
- 16:40of the night flying tipmossle. I want jokes. I'll tell you I want
- 16:45jokes. I guess I mist understood you. I get up, Get up,
- 16:48You're not hurt. I appreciate you doing I asked you a question,
- 16:53Dollar, Oh yeah, yeah, the game. You heard that phone conversation,
- 16:57didn't you? I heard it? And you know who's the guy you
- 17:00talk to? A friend of mine, an old prospector named Jed Martin.
- 17:03I heard that. Why'd you get in touch with him? Well? Now,
- 17:07he specializes in knife blooming uranium, so I thought we might combine our
- 17:11hobbies. How much of this does it take to wise you up? All
- 17:18right? I think that one just might have done it. Why'd you want
- 17:22him to meet you here? He thought he might be useful? What for
- 17:26pointing out the roasting places of the night flying? All right? Take it
- 17:29easy. Slap me once more with that rod, and I may get mad,
- 17:33scaring me to death. There are worse ways to go, Dollar,
- 17:37I'm smart. Cracks are going to get you nothing but stitches. Stitches are
- 17:40what they're supposed to keep us. Keep ask relax, relax, relax.
- 17:45You know, I think I finally got you tagged? Now what do you
- 17:48mean? Tag you're not Pop Bardell's nephew, and you don't come from Tussa.
- 17:52All right, so far you're doing the talking. I think you came
- 17:56originally from Chicago and New York, but recently you just come west from Kansas
- 18:03City. You a cop? Dollar, No, and how come you?
- 18:04I've been trying to place you ever since I saw you this afternoon, thinking
- 18:07back over police bulletins. I've seen mugshots, descriptions. Yeah, you're Spade
- 18:14killer, aren't you. Go on, this is your story. He used
- 18:17to work with the Kazati mob. Then you went out of circulation for three
- 18:19years as a guest of the state, and when you got out, you
- 18:22apparently hooked up with Jipper Nitsen in this gang. So you are a cop.
- 18:26Well, miss, I'm somebody who found that stolen car you ran off
- 18:30the cliff and tried to hide under a rock slide. If you found it,
- 18:33you must have been looking for it. I was looking for one hundred
- 18:36thousand dollars that Kansas City payroll, the one you boys killed a couple of
- 18:41bank guards to get your hands on. Remember I'm just listening. Then,
- 18:44of course you killed a state trooper down there at the highway when you crashed
- 18:47a roadblock. That's three murder, Spade, and nobody left now to pay
- 18:51for them, but just you and the jipper. You know they got to
- 18:55catch us first or they will or kill you trying to the cops don't do
- 19:00no better than you did, Ay, Dollar. Cops know about that car?
- 19:07Which car is that? Spade? You know which car the one we
- 19:10buried in the rock slide. There's the ranger. Phone, call him up
- 19:14and ask him. Maybe they'll be a hole. You just keep it up,
- 19:18Dollar, This gun will still be in good shape when your head's got
- 19:21holes in it. Maybe it's sorry him? What about it? You told
- 19:26the police about that car you followed me, didn't you? You know I
- 19:29only made one call? Yeah, but you might have called him earlier,
- 19:33wouldn't I be kind of crazy? Then they'd get the hundred grand? You
- 19:37mean? You? So that's the game? Uh? You and this pall
- 19:42of yours were figuring to knock us over and hijack that payroll for yourself.
- 19:47I didn't say that. I figured you for a phony the minute you drove
- 19:49into the station this afternoon. That's why I had Bardell give you a cabin
- 19:53when you came back, and that's why I took a wheel off your car
- 19:56tonight so I could have you or I could keep my good on you see
- 20:00what you were up to. And now you think you know sure you got
- 20:04a hunts we'd be hold up in here somewhere after we broke through that roadblock
- 20:07in an old Gallus highway. So you come up to snoop around and try
- 20:11to get your hands in that hundred thousand spade. You're a real smart boy.
- 20:17You found the car and then you tag me. So you figured Primrose
- 20:21camp for the hideout out of the body. Else figure in that spade,
- 20:22and you sneak down here tonight and phoned your pal, wanted him to come
- 20:26over to the camp and help you. Help you what dollar? You don't
- 20:32know where jipper is and you don't know where the money is? And what
- 20:36were you planning to do? I thought we might ask you. Yeah,
- 20:38I'll bet you did. Only it didn't work. No, it didn't work.
- 20:45Well, Now there's nothing to do but just sit here and wait for
- 20:47your pal to show. To make sure you wait quietly. So I waited
- 20:55quietly, being somewhat unconscious. There wasn't much else I could do I've been
- 21:00trying to stall Spade until Jed marsh arrived, hoping to tip Jed off in
- 21:03some way before he walked into the trap. But I've been not foxed up,
- 21:07maneuver and then finally just playing out for how long I don't know,
- 21:11but it was too long to do Jed any good. When I came to
- 21:15he was already in the parlor and the spider at pounced. What do you
- 21:18mean get my hands out? You hurt me, didn't you? Right?
- 21:22I heard you? You, mister dollar? What's going on here? Who
- 21:26the devil are you? Anyhow? As you like a bullet right over your
- 21:29belt buckle? Now you broke heresy, Jed. But to do what he
- 21:33says, mister dollar, what happened to you? The same thing that's going
- 21:37to happen to you if you don't get your hands up? What are you
- 21:38worried about? Spade? He's not even packing a gun. I suppose I
- 21:41make sure that, Oh golden lucky, I ain't got no gun. You
- 21:45shift the eyed little sideway. If I had one, i'd feel you so
- 21:48gold dang for a hose. They would shoot me. You hurt Jenny?
- 21:56Not as bad as he'll be and I pay him back for that next to
- 22:00Dollar. Come on, snap it up. I'm not be glad there's a
- 22:04moon tonight. I want to get that feace. So you're real clear in
- 22:08my mind, says I'll know it next time I see it. So I
- 22:12told you to shut up better relaxed. Jed Spade here is pretty jumpy.
- 22:18He's one of the last two left now, and he knows it's just a
- 22:22matter of time. What I gotta do, Dollar, smash that head of
- 22:25yours clear open. I think you'd better go easy on that slugging stuff.
- 22:27Spade. About the next time you swing on one of us, the other
- 22:30one's gonna jump you. I was wondering if you had the same idea I
- 22:34had, mister Dollar. Either one of you makes a move, it'll be
- 22:37your last one. You see. Jed, he's jumpy. He and the
- 22:41Chip are up at Dinning Road. They got no place to go from here,
- 22:44and Spade knows it. A couple more days they'll figure we got clear
- 22:47away from this part of the country. They won't be looking for us around
- 22:51here. That's when we'll leave and we'll get away with it, provided Jed
- 22:53and I don't tell him where you want you won't. That's one thing I'm
- 22:56real sure of this here. Varmon wouldn't be aim drew us in, would
- 23:00you, mister Dollar? I wouldn't be surprised if he had something like that
- 23:03in mind, Jed. Am I right, Spade? What have I got
- 23:07to lose? That's a very logical attitude. What he means, Jed,
- 23:11is the fact that the gang has already murdered three people, and since they
- 23:15can only hang Spade and the Jibber once, a couple of more killings won't
- 23:18matter very much. Man has something to me, seeing as I'm to be
- 23:21wonderful more. Yeah, and to me seeing as I'm on the other.
- 23:25But that's spades problem, of course, having two of us on his hands,
- 23:30even with him having the gun, that's pretty touchy business, right Spade,
- 23:33Get on your feet. Dollar, Sure, we'll stay as far apart
- 23:37as he'll stand for Jed. So he'll have to swing the gun if he
- 23:41goes for me first, jumping fast, I gotcha seen it happen once in
- 23:47Plapart during a gold strike and nine shot. Now Spade's got an even worse
- 23:52problem, Jed. He's so scared Jumpy he may even miss his first shot.
- 23:56Then he'll have both of us on him. They can I be jumpy
- 23:59too. Oh if I was standing there where he is, What are you
- 24:02talking about? Next to the edge of the cliff, that way close to
- 24:06all them bouldered What about them? Just snakes? That's all snakes. You
- 24:11shouldn't have told him, jid. I was hoping he blunder on to one.
- 24:14Where's any snakes might be anywhere around you? There along four sun up.
- 24:19When the starts getting chilly, they crawl in around the rocks and get
- 24:22warm. You city fellers, order have a nurse to keep it any Wait
- 24:26wit a minute, I wouldn't move around much fiberus. You not without flashlight.
- 24:30I haven't got a flash I have right here in my pocket. Now,
- 24:33I keep your hands up. I seen that trick pull before you throw
- 24:37the light in my eyes to give dollar a chance to jump. Men,
- 24:41you've got a real suspicious nature. Space snakes. There's probably no snakes within
- 24:45ten miles. What's that? I got space ware? The other way,
- 24:48it's right there by your foot. Go back, let me get the flash.
- 24:52Not that way, Spadine, you're gonna step on it. No,
- 25:04he stepped back on that loose slab on the edge, mister Dollar. Yeah,
- 25:11I was sure his last step Jenne, I must be a four hundred
- 25:15foot drop there. I didn't name for this to happen. I was just
- 25:18trying to upset him so as we could jump him. How'd you make that
- 25:22noise? Anyway? With this set of old timber snake rattles stuck on a
- 25:29pine sliver, you just rub your thumb on it and it starts some going.
- 25:33Use it sometimes to spook a tenderfoot, And you sure spoke one tonight.
- 25:37I can't say I'm too sorry at that, mister Dollar. He wasn't
- 25:40aiming no good for us, And that's a dang sure three down on only
- 25:45the chipper himself has left funny about life sometimes, mister Dollar. That's bad
- 25:49fellow went around striking out at people like a snake does, and he died
- 25:56the same during way, all smashed on the rocks, just like a snake.
- 26:02Guys, now here's our star to tell you about the final episode of

- 27:11Jack Johnstone. Be sure to join us tomorrow night, same time and station
- 27:17for the next exciting episode of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar. Roy Rowan speaking welcome
- 28:17Back. I have to admit there were a few points in this story,
- 28:19particularly in part three, it was kind of doubtful of how Johnny was going,
- 28:23particularly with as much pressure as he was applying, but I think most
- 28:30of it was necessary, except for the last conversation with the old man.
- 28:36I think it could reasonably be assumed that they were being forced into this and
- 28:44the daughter was being held hostage, but that didn't matter since they pretty much
- 28:49decided to follow him anyway. I really do like the confrontation that ends the
- 28:56part, for it's just a great dramatic up and it puts you right on
- 29:00the edge of your seat as Johnny and the prospector both keeping their heads and
- 29:08really rattling the nerves of the guy with the gun. It was just a
- 29:14very classic maneuver with tension building right up until the very end of it.
- 29:19Of course, there's plenty of work to be done in Part five, and
- 29:22I hope you'll be back with us for that. All right, Well,
