- 0:00Speaker 1: Ready fifty sent freedom right to the left, Knicks drops back,
- 0:04Speaker 1: throws a ball to the end zone. The pass is
- 0:07Speaker 1: taught and that is a Denver touchdown. Troy Franklin with
- 0:13Speaker 1: the catch at the gold line and he had Eric
- 0:15Speaker 1: Stokes on his back. Stokes made the tackle, but Franklin
- 0:21Speaker 1: had the ball and a touchdown.
- 0:25Speaker 2: That was Dave Logan on koa. That was the only
- 0:29Speaker 2: Denver Broncos touchdown of the night. That was the last
- 0:32Speaker 2: time we saw anyone in the end zone in this game.
- 0:34Speaker 2: A ten to seven victory by the Denver Broncos over
- 0:39Speaker 2: the Las Vegas Raiders. Nick, when I asked you before
- 0:43Speaker 2: the season to do every Monday night game recap with me,
- 0:47Speaker 2: every Thursday night game recap with me, I never promised
- 0:52Speaker 2: that they would all be beautiful, and I submit there
- 0:55Speaker 2: will not be an uglier primetime game than this all season.
- 1:00Speaker 2: For many seasons, there there are some games that are
- 1:02Speaker 2: ugly and fun, and this one, by the end was
- 1:06Speaker 2: just ugly.
- 1:07Speaker 3: It makes me think about that Colt's Broncos game that
- 1:09Speaker 3: was a Thursday Night or a few years.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Ago that was also just about as ugly as this one.
- 1:12Speaker 2: But that one had like a sense of like this is.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We're all having a good time by the end because.
- 1:17Speaker 4: It's so bad.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Fact that it was that bad, yeah, and this one
- 1:20Speaker 3: so much just like I know it to that point.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So my youngest sister lives with me, and she made
- 1:25Speaker 3: some incredible banana bread today, and to feel something again
- 1:29Speaker 3: before getting on the show, I just took a big
- 1:30Speaker 3: chunk of banana bread and housed it before I came
- 1:33Speaker 3: in here to do the show.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I appreciate that. I appreciate your sister. I want some
- 1:37Speaker 2: of that banana bread. And we're still gonna break this down,
- 1:41Speaker 2: but we're also going to break down the entire league.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Where we made our first power rankings of the year,
- 1:49Speaker 2: me and you a little bit of a power poll
- 1:50Speaker 2: where we averaged our rankings together, and uh yeah, the Broncos,
- 1:56Speaker 2: you know, might have to move down a couple spots
- 1:58Speaker 2: despite winning tonight's game. So you know, we'll give this
- 2:01Speaker 2: game all the time it deserves, maybe a little less
- 2:03Speaker 2: than most Thursday nights, and then we'll do some of
- 2:05Speaker 2: the power rankings.
- 2:06Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:07Speaker 2: My takeaway here in a game that had twenty two
- 2:11Speaker 2: penalties split evenly, eleven each, fifteen punts and just incredibly
- 2:16Speaker 2: long stretches of offensive incompetency, especially you know in the
- 2:22Speaker 2: second half of this game, was that this Bronco's offense, Like,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I know, they won the game. When usually talked positive
- 2:30Speaker 2: about you know, we'll talk about the defense and how
- 2:32Speaker 2: good they look, that we know they're great, like their
- 2:34Speaker 2: troubles are not going away Bo Nicks through an unforgivable
- 2:38Speaker 2: interception late in this game. They never got it even
- 2:41Speaker 2: going in the fourth quarter. The reason they won is
- 2:43Speaker 2: because their defense kept setting them up with short fields.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They eventually got a little bit of a running game going,
- 2:47Speaker 2: but my god, they're passing game against the defense that
- 2:51Speaker 2: has struggled all season. Was kind of my biggest takeaway
- 2:55Speaker 2: because this isn't eight and two team leading the AFC
- 2:58Speaker 2: West with a chance to get the number one seed.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's another example of what this team has
- 3:04Speaker 3: been for I mean months, not month, but months at
- 3:08Speaker 3: this point. I mean, they are a team that looks
- 3:10Speaker 3: as if they are sleepwalking offensively almost every week. And
- 3:14Speaker 3: their story has been they turned on the fourth quarter
- 3:16Speaker 3: and come back and win games. And frankly, tonight was
- 3:18Speaker 3: setting up to be that. If Daniel Carlson makes the
- 3:20Speaker 3: game tying field goal, which he missed. We were going
- 3:22Speaker 3: to have to see them put the foot down on
- 3:23Speaker 3: the pedal again and see if they could pull another
- 3:25Speaker 3: one out of thin air instead. Luckily, because the Raiders
- 3:28Speaker 3: missed their field goal, Lebroncos simply had to salt it away.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I will give them a little bit of credit. Before
- 3:34Speaker 3: that touchdown pass that we heard to start the show, Yo,
- 3:36Speaker 3: Knicks did have a handful of really good throws where
- 3:39Speaker 3: he stepped up in the pocket, he extended to play
- 3:41Speaker 3: and you know, he's got guys ten to fifteen yards
- 3:43Speaker 3: downfield that he's hitting accurately. Other than that nightmare, they
- 3:46Speaker 3: didn't run the ball effectively in the first half. They
- 3:48Speaker 3: decided to commit to it in the second half and
- 3:50Speaker 3: it helped a little bit and helped them put the
- 3:52Speaker 3: game away as well.
- 3:53Speaker 4: But it is a team that lacks and identity.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Has talent, has an ability to move the football at times,
- 3:59Speaker 3: but lacks identities, so it takes them forever to get going,
- 4:02Speaker 3: and we were left with this same thing. You know,
- 4:04Speaker 3: I described Bonnicks recently as a firecracker quarterback because he's silent,
- 4:08Speaker 3: and it's just like lighting a pack of firecrackers. Everything's quiet,
- 4:11Speaker 3: the fuse is lit. Might hear the fuse and then
- 4:13Speaker 3: pop up up, pop up, pap pap up. That's how
- 4:15Speaker 3: he's been in almost every game tonight. He wasn't even
- 4:18Speaker 3: really that exceptly when they scored that touchdown.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that was one drive. It was late in the
- 4:23Speaker 2: second quarter. It was the best field position that they
- 4:27Speaker 2: had until the second half where they blew a couple
- 4:30Speaker 2: really short fields. But they started at their own forty
- 4:32Speaker 2: seven and they drove down and you're right, he's made
- 4:35Speaker 2: a few plays where he steps up in the pocket
- 4:37Speaker 2: and you know, sees open lanes and hits a pass,
- 4:41Speaker 2: but he missed so many of those tonight. And they
- 4:43Speaker 2: had a crazy amount of drives in this game, thirteen drives,
- 4:47Speaker 2: so like that game should have ended at you usually
- 4:50Speaker 2: you get about ten drives in a game, and they
- 4:52Speaker 2: had seven points at one point, and there was a
- 4:55Speaker 2: stretch where through eleven drives, which is more than a game,
- 5:00Speaker 2: you know, a normal game, where they had eight three
- 5:02Speaker 2: and outs out of those seven drives, and an interception
- 5:07Speaker 2: in those eight drives, another very short drive, and then
- 5:09Speaker 2: the touchdown drive that we just talked about, and then
- 5:13Speaker 2: on top of it, like if you want to extend
- 5:16Speaker 2: it out to twelve drives. It was that groaner of
- 5:18Speaker 2: an interception in the fourth quarter, so that that's a
- 5:21Speaker 2: twelve drive sequence with just total struggle fest And there
- 5:26Speaker 2: wasn't a lot of pressure on him. I mean there
- 5:29Speaker 2: was at times, but I looked and there wasn't much
- 5:31Speaker 2: quick pressure. Max Crosby was generally taken care of tonight
- 5:35Speaker 2: by their pass rush. So one play really stands out
- 5:40Speaker 2: to me where Kirk Kurbstreet on the broadcast is like,
- 5:43Speaker 2: you know, bo Nick's not feeling very settled in the pocket,
- 5:46Speaker 2: and I'm like, yeah, that's true. But it was a
- 5:49Speaker 2: three man rush against a five man protection with absolutely
- 5:52Speaker 2: no one there, and then he just like throws it
- 5:55Speaker 2: away on a third third down. That was at the
- 5:57Speaker 2: beginning of the fourth quarter. And yet I appreciated them,
- 6:00Speaker 2: if nothing else, running the clock out at the end
- 6:03Speaker 2: of the game with some good JK. Dobbins runs and
- 6:07Speaker 2: if nothing else, that got us to the end of
- 6:08Speaker 2: the game quicker.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yeah, there was one inexplicable miss of a running lane
- 6:12Speaker 3: by JK. Dobbins in that sequence. For you see it
- 6:14Speaker 3: on Prime vision from over the top, You're like, the
- 6:16Speaker 3: lane is there, and he just tries to swerve right
- 6:18Speaker 3: around it. Otherwise they put the gameway. But you're absolutely right.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I mean this offense had no rhythm the entire night.
- 6:23Speaker 3: This game was really won by their defense and their
- 6:25Speaker 3: defense's ability to completely eliminate brock Bowers from the equation
- 6:28Speaker 3: for the Raiders. They dedicated defensive backs to them all game.
- 6:31Speaker 3: There were multiple instances in which the Raiders are running
- 6:33Speaker 3: play action trying to slip Boers out into the flat.
- 6:35Speaker 3: There's two dbs right there covering him.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Gino looks to him first, has to go somewhere else.
- 6:40Speaker 3: So, I mean, this defense won this game they wanted
- 6:41Speaker 3: by not really blitzing that much but getting semi consistent
- 6:44Speaker 3: pressure doesn't really show up in the numbers, but shows
- 6:46Speaker 3: up visually. And it's not really like their hallmark that
- 6:50Speaker 3: they have a good defense. We know that, but when
- 6:52Speaker 3: you think about the Broncos, you don't think like great
- 6:54Speaker 3: defensive team they win with defense. You think of them
- 6:57Speaker 3: as a team that has a good defense and then
- 6:59Speaker 3: just happens to find enough success offensively. And it felt
- 7:03Speaker 3: like a diet version of that tonight.
- 7:05Speaker 2: An extreme version. I would say, yeah, I'm I'm glad
- 7:08Speaker 2: you brought up something positive here. So yeah, let's give
- 7:10Speaker 2: Nick Benito his flowers, eight or nine QB pressures, six
- 7:15Speaker 2: quick pressures, two sacks. I think they'll count it officially
- 7:18Speaker 2: as one and a half. I don't believe in half sacks.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Another couple quarterback hits on the day, Zach Allen with
- 7:24Speaker 2: three quarterback hits and a sack. And the Raiders start
- 7:28Speaker 2: out this game with a really good touchdown drive. And
- 7:33Speaker 2: the image I remember it best is on the score
- 7:36Speaker 2: Jackson Powers Johnson, their guard, you know, blocking Nick Benito
- 7:41Speaker 2: out of the play in Ashton Genty running through a
- 7:43Speaker 2: tackle by Ufunga, and I'm thinking, okay, we're live. This
- 7:47Speaker 2: is gonna be an interesting game. And that was like
- 7:49Speaker 2: the last we saw anything of that, And partly because
- 7:52Speaker 2: Jackson Powers Johnson left this game, and that left their
- 7:55Speaker 2: left side which has been missing Colton Miller thin all night.
- 7:58Speaker 2: What the hell, let's listen to the one Raider touchdown
- 8:00Speaker 2: because we really aren't going to have any other highlights.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Time out. Gino's clapping his hands on third and short
- 8:05Speaker 1: inside handoff Genty inside the five first down is go
- 8:08Speaker 1: one touchdown Raiders Genty on the inside handle a six
- 8:15Speaker 1: yard run.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Josh's in the insode.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Oh, Ashley Gensy started this game great and then he
- 8:21Speaker 2: ended the game with three point two yards per carry.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I was watching part of the game with more East
- 8:26Speaker 2: Jones Drew. He thinks genty misses some holes. You were
- 8:29Speaker 2: talking about not having like the greatest vision. He thinks
- 8:31Speaker 2: he missed them tonight. But after really that first drive
- 8:34Speaker 2: or two, the Broncos dominated in a way that you
- 8:37Speaker 2: just rarely see. There was a sequence, and I keep going.
- 8:42Speaker 2: While the Broncos were doing all those three and outs
- 8:44Speaker 2: that I just mentioned, there was an eight drive sequence
- 8:47Speaker 2: by the Raiders where they had a total of ten yards.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I mean, that's crazy. A total of ten yards, a
- 8:55Speaker 2: four play turnover on downs three and out, three and
- 8:58Speaker 2: out three end of half, three and out, one play
- 9:01Speaker 2: interception three and a block punt and then on a
- 9:04Speaker 2: three and out. That's that's wild. In an NFL game
- 9:07Speaker 2: that we all watched and we were paid for.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Yeah, we were, thank you. I will say that Jackson
- 9:14Speaker 4: powers johnts like Jackson Powers.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Johnson supposedly going to be coming in to be the center,
- 9:18Speaker 3: he loses the center job.
- 9:19Speaker 4: He ends up being a guard.
- 9:20Speaker 3: He is kind of in the mold of Richie and
- 9:22Speaker 3: cognitothough he's taller, but he looks like him physically, and
- 9:25Speaker 3: the way that he moves and blocks is kind of similar,
- 9:27Speaker 3: which is funny because in Cognito, you know, end of
- 9:29Speaker 3: his career, he was a Raider as well, but once
- 9:31Speaker 3: they lost him, the right side of their offensive line
- 9:34Speaker 3: was just consistently bad. You see him pulling from right
- 9:36Speaker 3: to left there on that touchdown run. After that, DJ
- 9:39Speaker 3: Glaze is getting beaten consistently in one on ones by
- 9:43Speaker 3: Nick Benito, the right guard that replaces Jackson powers Johnson
- 9:46Speaker 3: getting beaten consistently in one on ones to where Gino
- 9:49Speaker 3: never has any time to survey the field, and that's
- 9:52Speaker 3: before he gets banged up. This offense had no life.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We've talked all year about how Genti is consistently getting
- 9:57Speaker 3: hit behind the line of scrimmage. Watch it on Prime
- 10:00Speaker 3: Vision tonight from above, it's the same thing. He's getting
- 10:03Speaker 3: hit a yard half, a yard yard and a half
- 10:06Speaker 3: behind the line of scrimmage. He's got nowhere to run
- 10:08Speaker 3: This Raiders offense. If it's not dead, it's on. It's
- 10:11Speaker 3: basically on life support right now. Like they just can't
- 10:13Speaker 3: do anything.
- 10:14Speaker 2: They're leading receiver tonight was Tyler Lockett by far five
- 10:18Speaker 2: for forty four. You know, Bowers has one good catch
- 10:21Speaker 2: where he singled up on Jaday Baron in the first half,
- 10:24Speaker 2: and in that drive I believe ended either in the
- 10:28Speaker 2: turnover on downs or one of the three punts that
- 10:31Speaker 2: the Raiders had in Broncos territory. I don't know how
- 10:35Speaker 2: they pulled that off. They also had the missed field
- 10:37Speaker 2: goal that you mentioned when Gino did get some passes
- 10:41Speaker 2: going in the second half their only sign of life,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and then they settle for the field goal attempt and
- 10:46Speaker 2: he missed it. And Gino is struggling in general. He
- 10:49Speaker 2: definitely missed a few throws tonight. He held onto the
- 10:51Speaker 2: ball a little bit, but he had basically no chance.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And the offensive line you're talking about is Dylan Forsyth
- 10:58Speaker 2: or Stone Forsythe at left tackle, is it? Dylan Putnam
- 11:02Speaker 2: at left guard, Jordan Meredith, Alex Kappa in Glaze, dj
- 11:07Speaker 2: Glaze on the right side. So that's three replacements and
- 11:09Speaker 2: then one of the starters, Glaze, just getting killed. It's
- 11:14Speaker 2: HiT's rough going for my guy. I don't think you
- 11:17Speaker 2: had much of a chance. But there's just there's not
- 11:21Speaker 2: much more you can say. I think about this Raiders offense,
- 11:23Speaker 2: maybe not of this game unless you have anything more
- 11:27Speaker 2: you really want to get to here.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Typically Captain Geno for trying to cut out the injury
- 11:31Speaker 3: that he was dealing with, it was pretty clear he
- 11:33Speaker 3: was limited by it. He gets hit after scrambling. He
- 11:37Speaker 3: basically gets tripped up by Nick Benito you're gonna see
- 11:39Speaker 3: if you're watching on YouTube, and then Malcolm Roach falls
- 11:41Speaker 3: on him, and I believe that's where it happened, because
- 11:43Speaker 3: he starts grabbing his left leg and he continues to
- 11:45Speaker 3: grab his left leg. Kaylee Hartsung later reported it was
- 11:48Speaker 3: a left quad injury. So if you see the replay
- 11:51Speaker 3: again if you're watching on YouTube, Gino stumbles to the
- 11:53Speaker 3: ground and then Roach falls in and the replay view
- 11:57Speaker 3: from behind, which I'm not sure we're.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Gonna get here, we don't get there.
- 11:59Speaker 3: You can see the impact on his leg. His knee
- 12:01Speaker 3: kind of goes inward. At first I thought it might
- 12:03Speaker 3: be a knee issue, ends up being a quad. Either way,
- 12:05Speaker 3: it was a significant hurdle for him physically, and ultimately
- 12:09Speaker 3: I think it limited him in key spots, but you
- 12:12Speaker 3: got to give him credit for trying to gut it out.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, he had a dime to Dante Thornton in the
- 12:19Speaker 2: first half which could have been caught and just completely dropped.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Probably his best throw of the night by far. He
- 12:25Speaker 2: had a touchdown taken off the board by a jack
- 12:30Speaker 2: or No, that was a Dante Thornton penalty, rather on
- 12:33Speaker 2: an offensive pass interference where I think the play call
- 12:36Speaker 2: would have worked it Obviously.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I don't think that defender is going to actually come
- 12:39Speaker 3: that the ground, even if he doesn't hit him, I
- 12:40Speaker 3: don't think he gets there.
- 12:42Speaker 2: It was absolutely the right call, don't get me wrong,
- 12:44Speaker 2: because he went out of his way to hit the guy.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Was just too easy and that took seven points off
- 12:51Speaker 2: the board too. And then he had a sequence wherever
- 12:53Speaker 2: he Moster had a blown assignment trying to protect him
- 12:57Speaker 2: against the blitz and he just starts yelling at at Moster.
- 13:01Speaker 2: There there weren't see. There was a moment where I
- 13:04Speaker 2: thought it was going to get to like fun ugly,
- 13:07Speaker 2: and that was the sequence where the Broncos, who are
- 13:10Speaker 2: running it down the Raiders' throats, get to third and
- 13:12Speaker 2: one and then John Payton calls a trick play. Oh
- 13:16Speaker 2: my god, and they go backward five yards.
- 13:18Speaker 4: It was so bad.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And then and then they come up short on the
- 13:23Speaker 2: field goal attempt after that, losing five yards on the
- 13:26Speaker 2: third to one. And then the ensuing play is you know,
- 13:28Speaker 2: Smith hitting Ash and Genty in the chest and the
- 13:31Speaker 2: ball pops up for an interception. Like it just was like, okay,
- 13:36Speaker 2: now we're having some fun. Then there's a block punt.
- 13:38Speaker 2: But it didn't even continue to be fun. It just
- 13:43Speaker 2: it just was ugly.
- 13:46Speaker 3: You know that That miskick, by the way, is my
- 13:48Speaker 3: favorite example of an of a. It's the latest example
- 13:51Speaker 3: of what my favorite new trend in football is, which
- 13:53Speaker 3: is announcers being infatuated by the whole k ball juice
- 13:56Speaker 3: caball revolution and kickers can kick balls a mile now
- 14:00Speaker 3: and Will LUTs lines up for a fifty nine yarder,
- 14:02Speaker 3: no small feat and al Michaels is like he hit
- 14:05Speaker 3: these with these and warm ups.
- 14:07Speaker 4: And LUTs comes up like eight yards short.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I'm just like, yeah, maybe we don't think everybody can
- 14:12Speaker 3: hit sixty yarders routinely, Like let's be reminded that these
- 14:15Speaker 3: are humans.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And it was a windy night we should point out
- 14:18Speaker 2: with some of the offensive struggles, although like inaccurate passes,
- 14:22Speaker 2: weirdly of everything didn't seem like it was the biggest
- 14:26Speaker 2: issue in general on the night. Yeah, not everyone's going
- 14:30Speaker 2: to be able to hit. Although he did bounce it
- 14:32Speaker 2: in which if you tried to do that a hundred times,
- 14:36Speaker 2: I don't know if you could, like the ball bounced
- 14:38Speaker 2: and went over to the crossbar.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Maybe they should make it a Doug Flutie dropkick, remember
- 14:42Speaker 3: that back in the day.
- 14:42Speaker 2: That that counts. Well, that's a little different. That's a
- 14:44Speaker 2: little about to bounce there. Start at the beginning. They
- 14:48Speaker 2: started this game. And it's been a really dark day
- 14:51Speaker 2: in the NFL. And like I said, we're going to
- 14:52Speaker 2: do the power rankings right after this break. But there's
- 14:56Speaker 2: no other great place to address this. But everyone listening
- 15:00Speaker 2: probably knows right now what a what a difficult day
- 15:03Speaker 2: this has been in the NFL. A lot of people
- 15:05Speaker 2: woke up, myself included to the news that Marshawn Neil,
- 15:08Speaker 2: and the twenty four year old defensive end of the
- 15:11Speaker 2: Dallas Cowboys, died on Wednesday night, and the Dallas Police
- 15:18Speaker 2: the Texas Department of Safety said he died of an
- 15:21Speaker 2: apparent self inflicted gunshot wound after crashing his vehicle. And
- 15:28Speaker 2: more reporting is out there. I'm reading the Athletic right
- 15:34Speaker 2: now and in their reporting from the police, this is
- 15:36Speaker 2: all directly from the police. You know, had a police
- 15:39Speaker 2: dispatch where his girlfriend called and and said that he
- 15:44Speaker 2: was having you know, suicidal thoughts and said that that
- 15:47Speaker 2: was going to happen. And there were text messages that
- 15:49Speaker 2: he sent. And there's nothing more you can do than
- 15:53Speaker 2: just send your heart to to everyone that that knows
- 15:57Speaker 2: Marshawn Neelan and and of course to his family into
- 16:01Speaker 2: the Dallas Cowboys and everyone struggling with mental illness out there.
- 16:07Speaker 2: The reporting also, you know, indicates it he had been
- 16:09Speaker 2: struggling with a history of mental illness, and it's just
- 16:14Speaker 2: it's just an insidious thing. It impacted my family, my
- 16:18Speaker 2: life quite a bit and distressed in peace marsha On Neiland,
- 16:22Speaker 2: twenty four years old. Will We'll be back on the
- 16:25Speaker 2: other side. Okay, it's power ranking time. We've done similar
- 16:39Speaker 2: ish conversations. Who's in the Super Bowl? Mix kind of
- 16:44Speaker 2: took stock of the league while we were in Ireland,
- 16:47Speaker 2: but here we are. One game passed the midway point shook,
- 16:51Speaker 2: and I think it's time to just kind of break
- 16:53Speaker 2: it down who we think are the best teams in
- 16:55Speaker 2: the entire NFL. You made it a list, I made
- 16:59Speaker 2: a list, and we combined them, and now we're going
- 17:01Speaker 2: to talk about it, and we broke it into four
- 17:04Speaker 2: different sections, and we'll start we'll go bottom up. Let's
- 17:08Speaker 2: start with a they gone section self explanatory. They gone
- 17:14Speaker 2: dead last Tennessee Titans. We both had that. By the way,
- 17:18Speaker 2: I should have showed you my list so you know
- 17:19Speaker 2: where we agreed. Where we did. The New Orleans Saints
- 17:22Speaker 2: second to last, thirty one, we both agreed on that
- 17:24Speaker 2: completely as well number thirty the Jets twenty nine Raiders
- 17:29Speaker 2: did not help themselves tonight. Sad to see the Washington
- 17:33Speaker 2: Commanders who shook absolutely buried down at twenty eight. We
- 17:36Speaker 2: got the Dolphins at twenty seven, Shooks Browns who had
- 17:39Speaker 2: a little more faith in than me up at twenty six,
- 17:42Speaker 2: and then the Giants at twenty five. And I broke
- 17:46Speaker 2: them into sections. But this naturally to me, are like
- 17:49Speaker 2: the teams that, if you see them on the schedule,
- 17:51Speaker 2: shook your counting on a w Why did you have
- 17:55Speaker 2: Washington that that low.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Bit well, because they're just so banged up, Like I'm
- 17:59Speaker 3: not talking about them being healthy, and now the way
- 18:01Speaker 3: we looked at them going into the season, We're talking
- 18:02Speaker 3: about Jadon Daniels dealing with his third injury, and they
- 18:05Speaker 3: have so many losses on both sides of the ball.
- 18:07Speaker 3: This is where we are at Week ten, and I
- 18:09Speaker 3: don't expect the Washington Commanders to contend in most games
- 18:12Speaker 3: that are ahead of them, even if they have Jade
- 18:15Speaker 3: and Daniels available, just because that's how banged up they are.
- 18:18Speaker 3: They have lost so much and we saw exactly what
- 18:21Speaker 3: they are on Sunday night against the Seahawks.
- 18:24Speaker 2: So yeah, you go, Gabriel Browns, Yes, you gotta below
- 18:29Speaker 2: this thing can't stop anyone on the ground.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I can't believe I have to defend the Browns. This
- 18:34Speaker 3: is not me defending the Browns, but the Browns defense
- 18:36Speaker 3: will at least keep them in a game. Washington could
- 18:39Speaker 3: just get rolled by anybody because of all the losses
- 18:41Speaker 3: they have personnel wise.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That's absolutely right. Although it's it's a big week for
- 18:47Speaker 2: not only draft positioning shook between the Jets and the
- 18:51Speaker 2: and the Browns, but for the power rankings, because if
- 18:54Speaker 2: they can't beat the Jets who are below them here,
- 18:57Speaker 2: you know, then you're in trouble. And it shows that
- 18:59Speaker 2: you're ranking.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I like how you're revealing mine just without revealing yourself
- 19:02Speaker 3: at all.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I'm trying to try to find mine.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I am the scapegoat.
- 19:07Speaker 2: You are the scapegoat. If Okay Giants, twenty five Browns,
- 19:11Speaker 2: you know, twenty six Dolphins. It's crazy to think that
- 19:13Speaker 2: the commanders are behind those teams, but you're absolutely right. Like,
- 19:16Speaker 2: who would I take on a neutral field right now?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Dolphins commanders. I probably would take the Dolphins out. Which
- 19:21Speaker 2: of these teams would you least want to play on
- 19:25Speaker 2: a Sunday?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Oh, it's undoubtedly the New York Giants. Like it's even close.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Because Jackson Dart brings an element of aggression to this offense.
- 19:36Speaker 4: He is a playmaker.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I know that they've they lost Camskataboo and they've lost
- 19:40Speaker 3: you know, Malik Neighbors, and he is an absolute warrior
- 19:43Speaker 3: for them, Like watching them is still fun because of him,
- 19:45Speaker 3: Like he is trying to carry this offense on their back.
- 19:48Speaker 3: And I think their defense has enough talent to cause
- 19:51Speaker 3: problems for a lesser team. So like, if the Browns
- 19:53Speaker 3: are playing the Giants, I'm taking the Giants because I
- 19:54Speaker 3: don't think the Browns can protect against that defense, and
- 19:56Speaker 3: I think Jackson Dart eventually will find a way to
- 19:58Speaker 3: score enough points to beat them.
- 20:00Speaker 2: And Raiders fans out there, I had you thirtieth going
- 20:03Speaker 2: into this game, and just ahead of the Saints and
- 20:06Speaker 2: Titans twenty ninth. When you average me and check out,
- 20:11Speaker 2: it's you're looking at thirty two pretty soon. It's a
- 20:16Speaker 2: tough situation. All right, Let's go to the next segment.
- 20:19Speaker 2: The next group is called stuck in the middle. So
- 20:21Speaker 2: these teams have a chance to make the playoffs. Certainly
- 20:24Speaker 2: number twenty four the Cincinnati Bengals, they're right on the
- 20:27Speaker 2: edge of that. The Cowboys at twenty three, Falcons at
- 20:31Speaker 2: twenty two. Disappointing season, the Carolina Panthers little disrespected here
- 20:36Speaker 2: at twenty one, Texans at twenty, Cardinals at nineteen. Some
- 20:41Speaker 2: love for the Cardinals considering their record. Eighteen for the
- 20:45Speaker 2: Chicago Bears and seventeen of the Jacksonville Jaguars. So the
- 20:49Speaker 2: Bears are five and three. Shook explained to me kind
- 20:53Speaker 2: of your thought process of why they are here, and
- 20:57Speaker 2: we did not disagree much there. You had them nineteen,
- 21:00Speaker 2: I had him seventeen.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Yeah, we're super close here.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I think that the Bears could easily climb out of
- 21:05Speaker 3: this tier because I love the development of their offense
- 21:10Speaker 3: under Ben Johnson's direction, Like they are getting creative and
- 21:13Speaker 3: running all kinds of wacky stuff that you don't expect,
- 21:15Speaker 3: but they're also executing it. Now, Caleb is still a
- 21:18Speaker 3: bit unsteady. He doesn't like his highlight plays are really
- 21:22Speaker 3: fun to watch. But he's and he's getting more comfortable.
- 21:24Speaker 3: He's getting better, but he's still not at that point
- 21:26Speaker 3: where you're like, he's going to lead them to victory.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Now he's done a couple times in clutch spots. But
- 21:31Speaker 3: I have questions about their defense because they can't generate
- 21:34Speaker 3: a pass rush to save their lives. So that's why
- 21:36Speaker 3: they're kind of stuck in this tier. But I think
- 21:38Speaker 3: if their offense continues on the trajectory they're currently on,
- 21:40Speaker 3: they could climb out of it and get into the
- 21:42Speaker 3: bottom of the next tier.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I think part of their issue is just the
- 21:46Speaker 2: quality of their opponents. And you could say the same
- 21:49Speaker 2: thing about the Patriots, but the Patriots quarterback's playing better
- 21:53Speaker 2: and they're seven and two, so there is a little
- 21:55Speaker 2: bit of a difference there. I just want to see
- 21:59Speaker 2: more out of Spars team because I think the defense
- 22:02Speaker 2: is struggling. The passing game is up and down, Like
- 22:05Speaker 2: it looks better in the box score than the numbers,
- 22:09Speaker 2: but they are trending up. And it is crazy to think, like, man,
- 22:12Speaker 2: the league feels deep if the Jaguars are seventeen, yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 2: and the Panthers are twenty first, And I think the
- 22:21Speaker 2: Panthers are just an eye test thing ultimately, like, yeah,
- 22:25Speaker 2: it is the year of the running game and everything,
- 22:27Speaker 2: but if you can't consistently throw the ball and your
- 22:31Speaker 2: defense is not a difference maker, and I don't consider
- 22:33Speaker 2: the Panthers defense to be a difference maker. I think
- 22:35Speaker 2: that's where they get edged out a little bit compared
- 22:38Speaker 2: to teams like the Cardinals and the Texans, for instance,
- 22:41Speaker 2: to me, have a higher upside despite their record. Right now,
- 22:44Speaker 2: what was your thought process of kind of where they
- 22:46Speaker 2: are versus say, the Cardinals and the Texans specific.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe I'm one of the last believers in the Texans,
- 22:51Speaker 3: but their defense is very, very good, and it like,
- 22:54Speaker 3: you know, we talked about with the Browns. They're going
- 22:55Speaker 3: it's gonna keep them in most games, and if they
- 22:57Speaker 3: get protect CJ. Stroud, who got knocked out by a
- 23:00Speaker 3: cushion last week, then I think that they would be
- 23:03Speaker 3: a competitive team against most teams, which is why they're
- 23:06Speaker 3: ranked higher.
- 23:07Speaker 4: And it's not to say that the Panthers aren't.
- 23:08Speaker 3: They just upset the Packers, but we see the ceiling
- 23:10Speaker 3: on their offense, especially if their running games not working.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I think that the Panthers are on the right path
- 23:15Speaker 3: and a year from now they'll be in a better place.
- 23:17Speaker 3: You see, you know, signs of it on both sides
- 23:20Speaker 3: of the ball. It's just that, like this is the
- 23:22Speaker 3: build up to that. So that's kind of why they
- 23:24Speaker 3: are where they are. But I also when we talk
- 23:26Speaker 3: about the Jags being in this group at the top
- 23:28Speaker 3: of this group mm hm, bitter recency not biased, but
- 23:31Speaker 3: but recency influence with us because I could very easily
- 23:36Speaker 3: see us putting the Vikings in that spot instead of
- 23:38Speaker 3: the Jaguars, had the Vikings not just gone into Yea
- 23:41Speaker 3: beating the line they just.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Beat the Lions. You gotta add adapt to new information, right,
- 23:45Speaker 2: and I think roster wise, they're better, right, and maybe
- 23:50Speaker 2: it is confirming my priors. I thought they would get
- 23:53Speaker 2: over eight and a half wins this year and they
- 23:55Speaker 2: still have a chance to do so. There is a
- 23:57Speaker 2: lot of talent the coaches. But yeah, you're you're hinting
- 23:59Speaker 2: at who up next, so let's just do it. The
- 24:01Speaker 2: next tier is frisky, and the Vikings are at the
- 24:03Speaker 2: bottom of that tier. But these are the teams that
- 24:06Speaker 2: you don't want to play them. I think it'd be
- 24:08Speaker 2: a disappointment if they don't make the playoffs. But we're
- 24:10Speaker 2: also just valuing where they are right now. Number sixteen,
- 24:13Speaker 2: the Vikings, big jump, I think from where they would
- 24:16Speaker 2: have been, Like you said, Shook last week at this time,
- 24:18Speaker 2: the Chargers are at fifteen, a little lower than I
- 24:21Speaker 2: expected they'd be in this exercise. The forty nine Ers fourteen,
- 24:25Speaker 2: Ravens all the way up to thirteen despite the three
- 24:28Speaker 2: and five record, but they are the Ravens. The Steelers
- 24:31Speaker 2: at twelve, Broncos at eleven, and Patriots at ten. Now
- 24:35Speaker 2: I got to say we did this assuming the Broncos
- 24:39Speaker 2: are going to win this game, like roughly where they
- 24:41Speaker 2: would be. I mean, I think just for making us
- 24:44Speaker 2: go through this should maybe we should knock them down
- 24:47Speaker 2: a couple of spots.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Yes, yes, we assume they were going to win.
- 24:51Speaker 3: We didn't assume they're gonna win in the ugliest fashion possible. Yeah,
- 24:54Speaker 3: and this is a fun kind of examination of where
- 24:57Speaker 3: we differ too, because I had the Ravens all the
- 24:58Speaker 3: way up at eleven because I just believe that if
- 25:01Speaker 3: Lamar can be Lamar, that they're going to be right
- 25:04Speaker 3: on the edge of that top ten. But yeah, the
- 25:06Speaker 3: Broncos deserves let's drop them a couple spots and.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I'm going to bought the Ravens up. Okay, I we
- 25:10Speaker 4: should also defend this.
- 25:11Speaker 2: So you already had them ahead of them. You had
- 25:13Speaker 2: the Ravens at eleven. I had him at fifteen. And
- 25:15Speaker 2: I guess what I would say to that, I did
- 25:17Speaker 2: have them behind the forty nine Ers and the Chargers,
- 25:19Speaker 2: and maybe I shouldn't. I'm talking about opponent I'm talking
- 25:24Speaker 2: about like consistency. Okay, the Ravens didn't look amazing beating
- 25:30Speaker 2: the Dolphins to me. I know it ended up being easy,
- 25:32Speaker 2: but it wasn't like a game where you look at
- 25:35Speaker 2: the numbers and everything that they were particularly dominant and
- 25:40Speaker 2: you know they beat the Bears. That was a good
- 25:41Speaker 2: effort with Tyler Huntley. I guess I just want to
- 25:43Speaker 2: see them in a game like they are this week
- 25:45Speaker 2: against a better opponent before I'm feeling like they're back back.
- 25:49Speaker 2: So I punished them a little bit for that.
- 25:52Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 25:52Speaker 3: We should defend where we are putting the Chargers though,
- 25:54Speaker 3: because I think this is accurate. And the reason is
- 25:57Speaker 3: is the losses in the offensive line. We know we
- 25:59Speaker 3: are bracing for offense being a challenge for them from
- 26:02Speaker 3: here on out after losing Joe Alt for the rest
- 26:04Speaker 3: of the season.
- 26:05Speaker 2: So that and the defense hasn't been that good, right,
- 26:08Speaker 2: Like I thought the defense would be better and it's
- 26:10Speaker 2: been up and down.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I would agree. I would agree with that.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Forty nine Ers though, ahead of the now that I'm
- 26:16Speaker 2: looking at it, like in my heart, forty nine ers
- 26:20Speaker 2: considering their injuries. Actually I did have them below the Chargers,
- 26:24Speaker 2: and I think you should have too, but you didn't.
- 26:26Speaker 2: You know nothing.
- 26:27Speaker 3: And I had the forty nine Ers ahead of the
- 26:28Speaker 3: Chargers because I admire their scrappiness and their ability to
- 26:33Speaker 3: extract wins out of thin air despite all the losses
- 26:35Speaker 3: that they've had in personnel like that. I am still
- 26:37Speaker 3: mystified by how they are still competitive every week given
- 26:40Speaker 3: all the guys they don't have.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I had the Patriots at eleven, you had them at ten.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Do you think it's fair that they are not in
- 26:48Speaker 2: our highest tier? Essentially that we're we're kind of saying
- 26:52Speaker 2: with this tier to me, you know, you're not one
- 26:55Speaker 2: of the real deal ones yet, and it's crazy to
- 26:59Speaker 2: think that about the I guess he just want I
- 27:01Speaker 2: want just a little more proof. But what do you
- 27:05Speaker 2: think about not putting the Patriots or the Broncos or
- 27:08Speaker 2: even the Steelers in like real deal Super Bowl contender status.
- 27:14Speaker 3: I think that the Patriots are going to remind me
- 27:16Speaker 3: of teams that played soft schedules and got you know,
- 27:18Speaker 3: to the playoffs on the back of the soft schedule.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Not to take away anything that they've done, because Drake
- 27:22Speaker 3: may is the engine that drives that team forward and
- 27:24Speaker 3: he's playing fantastic football, but I do think that if
- 27:27Speaker 3: they end up facing higher level competition, they could get exposed,
- 27:30Speaker 3: you know, on a given Sunday or whatever. So that's
- 27:32Speaker 3: why they sit at ten. For me, the Steelers, I
- 27:36Speaker 3: sound like a hater. They're just very up and down.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Like the way that they dominated the Colts statistically with
- 27:42Speaker 3: turnovers and everything else was shocking. But yet they only
- 27:46Speaker 3: won that game by a touchdown, and so that kind
- 27:48Speaker 3: of points to sign to me that, like, I think
- 27:49Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers is playing very good football for them right now.
- 27:51Speaker 3: He's got complete command of that offense when he's given
- 27:53Speaker 3: when he's empowered to run that offense. But I think
- 27:57Speaker 3: that there is not fraudulent in them, but just a
- 28:00Speaker 3: visible ceiling with them, which is why I have them
- 28:02Speaker 3: where they are.
- 28:02Speaker 2: And it's funny. If we had done this segment before
- 28:05Speaker 2: Thursday Night Football, Broncos fans would have been annoyed, I
- 28:10Speaker 2: think at how low they are. And now after Thursday
- 28:13Speaker 2: Night Football, even though they got to win, I feel
- 28:16Speaker 2: like the bow Knicks nation, the bow leievers, will just
- 28:18Speaker 2: like be a little quieter.
- 28:20Speaker 3: I got to give them a lot of credit. A
- 28:23Speaker 3: big shout out for me because I get a lot
- 28:26Speaker 3: of hate for the QB Index every week. It's part
- 28:27Speaker 3: of you know, it comes with the game. Bo Knicks
- 28:30Speaker 3: fans have not gotten in my DMS or my mentions
- 28:32Speaker 3: once and in fact, I've had a little bit of
- 28:34Speaker 3: back and forth with Broncos fans, like when I'm streaming
- 28:36Speaker 3: on Twitch or whatever, They're in agreement, like they underst
- 28:39Speaker 3: they're realists with him and they understand where he is
- 28:41Speaker 3: right now. So shout out to you guys for not
- 28:43Speaker 3: letting your emotions cloud your judgment.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Shout out to the Broncos fans for the most incredible
- 28:50Speaker 2: Bronx cheer on Thursday night when their punter finally had
- 28:55Speaker 2: a good punt because he kept punting it off the
- 28:59Speaker 2: side of his foot, they were booing the hell out
- 29:02Speaker 2: of bow Nicks and the Broncos offense. They did it
- 29:05Speaker 2: going into halftime, they did it coming out of halftime
- 29:08Speaker 2: when they went three and out out of halftime, and
- 29:10Speaker 2: then he hit this punt which was his first decent
- 29:13Speaker 2: punt of the night, and they gave him a loud
- 29:15Speaker 2: ass Bronx cheer for a punt that was amazing.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Just that this is coming off of the back of
- 29:22Speaker 3: him launching absolute rockets a week earlier, like to the
- 29:26Speaker 3: point where I tweeted, I was like, he has a
- 29:27Speaker 3: mortar cannon, like a mortar launcher on his leg, like that's.
- 29:30Speaker 4: What his leg is.
- 29:31Speaker 3: And then he goes out there to night and just
- 29:32Speaker 3: sends like ground balls out there.
- 29:34Speaker 4: You know that punting's hard. Man football was hard.
- 29:36Speaker 2: It is crazy that punting was like the most entertaining
- 29:38Speaker 2: thing in the game. Aj Cole the Raiders had two
- 29:41Speaker 2: punts go inside the two yard line. That's the first
- 29:43Speaker 2: time that's happened in the same game in like five years.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Not surprising there. And then he also had a block
- 29:47Speaker 2: punt that basically won the Broncos. The game set them
- 29:51Speaker 2: up on a short field goal, and that's how they
- 29:52Speaker 2: got their short field and that's how they got their
- 29:55Speaker 2: you know, winning field goal. Let's do the title contender.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I'm calling this the real Ones. It really shows what
- 30:01Speaker 2: a crazy year this is, because I think you could
- 30:04Speaker 2: shake up these nine teams in any direction, and I'm
- 30:08Speaker 2: not going to argue too much with it. Number nine
- 30:10Speaker 2: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Number eight is Green Bay lower
- 30:14Speaker 2: than I expected, And it is interesting when you force
- 30:17Speaker 2: yourself to do this exercise and you realize, like, wow,
- 30:20Speaker 2: the Packers down there, although I had them highering you.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Number seven, the Detroit Lions, number six, We have the
- 30:26Speaker 2: Colts five, the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs, despite losing last week,
- 30:31Speaker 2: is actually ahead of the Bills. And that's why I
- 30:33Speaker 2: like power rankings. They shouldn't just be you know, your record,
- 30:37Speaker 2: number three, the LA Rams, number two Philadelphia Eagles, and
- 30:41Speaker 2: number one the Seattle Seahawks up at number one. I
- 30:45Speaker 2: was surprised, shook, we were on the same page with
- 30:49Speaker 2: the Seahawks. You had them very high. Was it number one?
- 30:53Speaker 2: I believe it was number two for you, but it
- 30:55Speaker 2: averaged out to being number one. You had the Chiefs won,
- 30:59Speaker 2: and that was the rising the Seahawks, two, Eagle three.
- 31:02Speaker 2: So what strikes you the most just looking at this
- 31:05Speaker 2: list of the best nine teams, and then I'll tell
- 31:09Speaker 2: you what stands out to me.
- 31:11Speaker 3: So this season feels like we've gotten more parody in
- 31:14Speaker 3: the league than we've gotten in probably the last five
- 31:15Speaker 3: or seven years. And I think that this group really
- 31:18Speaker 3: illustrates that. Because this was the most difficult part of
- 31:21Speaker 3: this exercise for me.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Because I'm getting at one Chiefs. Yeah, they lost the Bills.
- 31:26Speaker 4: They had a terrible game.
- 31:27Speaker 3: That was the bills best showing in years defensively at least.
- 31:30Speaker 3: And I think that if you play that game ten times,
- 31:32Speaker 3: it might turn out differently, you know, a few different times.
- 31:34Speaker 4: So I'm not going to put too much stock into
- 31:36Speaker 4: a regular season win over the Chiefs, I felt.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I still feel confident as though if I had to
- 31:41Speaker 3: take any team in a neutral site or in a
- 31:44Speaker 3: playoff game Homer away, I would still say.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 31:49Speaker 3: But once we got past the Chiefs and the Seahawks,
- 31:51Speaker 3: I'm like, oh my god, Like, what do I think
- 31:53Speaker 3: about the rest of these guys? Because the Eagles have,
- 31:55Speaker 3: you know, the personnel to get it done. They had
- 31:57Speaker 3: the drama, but they're also you know, they're coming off
- 31:59Speaker 3: of two quality wins. The Rams are like lurking as
- 32:02Speaker 3: this team that people aren't paying attention to, but they're
- 32:04Speaker 3: playing phenomenal football, especially offensively. Lion's coming off of a
- 32:07Speaker 3: loss of the Vikings, but there's still the Lions. We
- 32:09Speaker 3: still respect them. Bills are lower for me than five.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Actually had them at six just because I still need
- 32:15Speaker 3: it proven to me, like you need the Ravens to.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Prove it to you.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Like I get down to like six, seven, eight nine,
- 32:19Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh God, I forgot about the Buccaneers.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Wait right, we have all these injuries on offense. Can
- 32:24Speaker 3: they still do it? The Packers. I don't believe in
- 32:26Speaker 3: them fully right now because of some of the performances
- 32:28Speaker 3: they've produced recently. And the Colts Daniel Jones scared me
- 32:31Speaker 3: back into being hesitant about them with accounting for five
- 32:34Speaker 3: of their six turnovers.
- 32:35Speaker 4: So it's really hard to sort.
- 32:36Speaker 3: These guys out right now, which is why the NFL
- 32:38Speaker 3: is incredibly fun to watch.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so, first of all, it's six NFC teams, three AFC,
- 32:44Speaker 2: So I think I shocked. Yeah, it just I think
- 32:49Speaker 2: there's more really good teams this year than most years.
- 32:52Speaker 2: I actually it is parody, but I don't think it's
- 32:56Speaker 2: mediocrity because we looked at that group from ten to
- 33:01Speaker 2: sixteen and those are good teams too. So the bad
- 33:06Speaker 2: teams are really bad this year for sure, but I
- 33:09Speaker 2: think there's a lot of good teams at the top.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Like all these teams, for almost all of them have
- 33:14Speaker 2: had multi year kind of build ups to this moment,
- 33:18Speaker 2: you know, like Mike McDonald, it's only a second year,
- 33:22Speaker 2: but man, they're so different than they were, you know,
- 33:25Speaker 2: Sean McVay, and they've been in this rebuild ish phase
- 33:29Speaker 2: for the last couple of years. They called it a
- 33:30Speaker 2: sprint rebuild that's peaking right now. The Eagles are in
- 33:33Speaker 2: the middle of their primes, the Chiefs are that are
- 33:35Speaker 2: the Chiefs obviously, and like even the Bucks, like they've
- 33:39Speaker 2: been building to this moment. So it's not like other
- 33:41Speaker 2: than the Colts, there's not like a big surprise team,
- 33:44Speaker 2: and there's not a team that like feels like it
- 33:47Speaker 2: came out of nowhere. And yet the Colts when and
- 33:49Speaker 2: I've talked about this this week, when you look at it,
- 33:51Speaker 2: like that team has about as much continuity and veterans
- 33:54Speaker 2: and guys who have been on that roster for four
- 33:56Speaker 2: or five years than anyone. So I just like that
- 33:58Speaker 2: we're like really familiar, you're with all these teams, and
- 34:02Speaker 2: I think they all have a shot to win the
- 34:03Speaker 2: Super Bowl. And the biggest disagreement we had here, well
- 34:07Speaker 2: there were a couple, but we were only three spots
- 34:09Speaker 2: apart on any team, But I had the Colts still
- 34:12Speaker 2: at four. Maybe that's too high, but I believe in
- 34:19Speaker 2: transcendent offenses, and I just think they have a chance
- 34:24Speaker 2: to be a transcendent offense. Is their offense, like the
- 34:28Speaker 2: does it have a chance to be the best thing
- 34:30Speaker 2: in the NFL? I think it has a chance, so
- 34:34Speaker 2: maybe I'm wrong.
- 34:36Speaker 3: I mean, because of the continuity, that's probably the strongest
- 34:39Speaker 3: argument for them that they could have the best offense
- 34:41Speaker 3: the NFL. I mean, they've certainly put up a lot
- 34:42Speaker 3: of points, but you also have to consider opponent when
- 34:44Speaker 3: you examine some of their victories. I actually want to
- 34:48Speaker 3: step into our therapist's office real quick. I'm the therapist and
- 34:50Speaker 3: I'm also the patient here because this is a great
- 34:52Speaker 3: demonstration of the difference between you and me and my
- 34:55Speaker 3: abandonment issues. The Colts burned me once, and I'm like, nope,
- 34:58Speaker 3: I'm off the ship. I'm not, but you can't hurt
- 35:00Speaker 3: me twice. Colts, I'm not gonna let you hurt me again.
- 35:02Speaker 3: I'm running away from you. Whereas you are more of
- 35:04Speaker 3: an open hearted believer, like they said on the Monday
- 35:07Speaker 3: Night recap, Greg has kind eyes.
- 35:09Speaker 4: You have a kind heart too. You're willing to let
- 35:11Speaker 4: the Colts have a bad Sunday.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Maybe, or maybe I just stick with my priors and
- 35:15Speaker 2: I just spent the week, you know, gassing them up
- 35:17Speaker 2: before they stunk up the joint. And like a team
- 35:20Speaker 2: like the Bills are, I think they have fundamental things
- 35:22Speaker 2: that I worry about and yet man, they are a
- 35:25Speaker 2: good problem solving team like the Chiefs. So if I
- 35:28Speaker 2: had to do it again, maybe I would have flipped
- 35:30Speaker 2: it and the Bills would have been a little bit higher,
- 35:33Speaker 2: because like the Chiefs, they deserve the benefit of doubt
- 35:35Speaker 2: if they're going to like create solutions to the problems
- 35:40Speaker 2: that the season gives them. And you can kind of
- 35:42Speaker 2: see it the last couple of weeks. Do we know
- 35:45Speaker 2: that the Colts are going to do that? We don't
- 35:48Speaker 2: know because we haven't seen it, and we are putting
- 35:51Speaker 2: a lot of faith there in the Seahawks. I hadem one,
- 35:53Speaker 2: you had them two. But man, it's a beautiful thing.
- 35:57Speaker 2: And you know what, we got a game this weekend
- 36:02Speaker 2: with two of these top teams playing. That's all I
- 36:04Speaker 2: want out of each week, at least one or two
- 36:08Speaker 2: games where you know, two of these nine teams are
- 36:12Speaker 2: playing each other. And yeah, we got a nice Packers
- 36:15Speaker 2: Eagles game and the Patriots not too far out of
- 36:18Speaker 2: this tier. Play in the Bucks is a really good
- 36:21Speaker 2: one nine versus ten if you look at the windows,
- 36:24Speaker 2: I know we had a bad primetime game shook, but
- 36:26Speaker 2: this is sneakily one of the best weeks of the
- 36:29Speaker 2: year because we have Pats Bucks in that early window
- 36:33Speaker 2: along with Ravens Vikings, which I think is really fun.
- 36:37Speaker 2: That's a great game, and the primetime windows are absolutely great.
- 36:43Speaker 2: In the four to twenty five window, we have Rams
- 36:45Speaker 2: forty nine ers, which I think is good enough to
- 36:47Speaker 2: hold that window. It's like every window has has a nice,
- 36:50Speaker 2: delicious game.
- 36:51Speaker 4: You know.
- 36:51Speaker 3: It's like a relief, and it's also excites me when
- 36:54Speaker 3: I see a good Monday nighter, and Eagles Packers is
- 36:57Speaker 3: going to be a good Monday nighter.
- 36:59Speaker 2: We need it. We'll be live and we appreciate everyone
- 37:02Speaker 2: who's been listening to all our recaps this season. And
- 37:06Speaker 2: that's it for this one. We will be next in
- 37:09Speaker 2: the feed. Cynthia Friedland and I we push back the
- 37:12Speaker 2: pick show a little bit this week because everything's been
- 37:15Speaker 2: a little up in the air. So we have our
- 37:17Speaker 2: picks against the spread that'll be on Friday afternoon. We
- 37:21Speaker 2: will see them and we can only hope to do
- 37:24Speaker 2: better at our jobs than the Raiders and the Broncos
- 37:28Speaker 2: offenses did not see it.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Frighten
