- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat where we have.
- 0:04Devotional conversations rooted in Scripture and relevant for
- 0:07today, January 20. 6th The real. Flex Choosing.
- 0:13Wisdom over hype. It's hard not to chase what's
- 0:16shiny. We live in a world where
- 0:17attention feels like. Currency.
- 0:20Likes followers, recognition being seen as.
- 0:22Impressive or successful? Everywhere you look, there's
- 0:25pressure. To flex something your image,
- 0:28your intelligence, your influence.
- 0:30And if you're not careful. You can start believing that
- 0:32hype equals value, but God invites us to.
- 0:35Slow down and ask a deeper question.
- 0:37What actually? Lasts in Proverbs chapter 8
- 0:40verses. 10:50. Wisdom speaks clearly.
- 0:43And confidently take my instruction instead of silver
- 0:46and knowledge rather than choice.
- 0:48Gold for wisdom is better than jewels.
- 0:51And all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
- 0:54That's a bold claim. God is saying that everything
- 0:57you're tempted. To chase status.
- 0:59Money, applause, influence. Doesn't come close to the value.
- 1:03Of wisdom not because those things are always.
- 1:05Bad but. Because they can't do what?
- 1:07Wisdom. Does wisdom.
- 1:09Guides you when no one is clapping.
- 1:11Wisdom protects you when hype fades.
- 1:13Wisdom builds a life that doesn't collapse under pressure
- 1:16then. Proverbs Chapter. 8 verse 13
- 1:18sharpens the point even more. It says the fear of the Lord is
- 1:23hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way
- 1:25of evil and perverted. Speech I hate.
- 1:28Wisdom isn't neutral. It doesn't coexist comfortably
- 1:31with pride. Pride tells you to elevate
- 1:34yourself. Protect your.
- 1:35Image and always. Look impressive.
- 1:37Wisdom tells you to walk humbly. Speak.
- 1:39Truthfully, and reject anything that pulls you away from God's
- 1:43heart. Jesus puts this on full display
- 1:46in Matthew chapter 23. He.
- 1:48Calls out religious leaders who look.
- 1:50Spiritual on the outside but were driven by ego on the
- 1:53inside. They loved attention, titles and
- 1:56being seen as important, and then Jesus.
- 1:59Flips the whole idea. Of greatness upside down, he
- 2:02says. The greatest among you shall be
- 2:04your servant, whoever exalts himself.
- 2:06Will be humbled. And whoever humbles himself.
- 2:08Will be exalted. In God's Kingdom, greatness
- 2:12isn't about how high you climb. It's.
- 2:14About how well. You love and serve.
- 2:16That's the real flex. Not being the loudest voice, not
- 2:19being the most admired person in the room, but choosing wisdom
- 2:23when pride feels easier. Choosing humility when attention
- 2:26is tempting. Choosing to serve when no one is
- 2:29watching. Those choices don't always go
- 2:31viral. But they shape your.
- 2:32Character and character. Lasts The world's hype fades
- 2:36fast. Trends change, platforms shift,
- 2:39applause moves on. But wisdom stays.
- 2:41It grounds you it. Steadies you.
- 2:44It keeps. Your heart aligned with God when
- 2:46everything around you is competing for it.
- 2:48When you choose wisdom over hype, you're not missing out.
- 2:51You're investing in something eternal.
- 2:53You don't. Have to prove yourself you don't
- 2:55have. To chase attention.
- 2:56God already sees you. And when you walk in his wisdom,
- 3:00he promises honor that doesn't depend on hype and a life that
- 3:03doesn't fall apart when the spotlight moves on.
- 3:06Let's pray, Heavenly Father. Thank you for reminding me that
- 3:10your wisdom is more valuable than anything.
- 3:12This world celebrates. Help me reject pride, arrogance
- 3:16and the need for attention. Teach me to walk humbly.
- 3:19Serve. Others with joy and choose your
- 3:21truth. Over hype every day shape my
- 3:23heart to value what? You value and lead me in wisdom
- 3:26that lasts. Forever.
- 3:27In Jesus name, Amen. What if the ache you feel for
- 3:31more is actually God calling you deeper?

- 4:51Proverbs, chapter 8. Verses 1 to. 36 World.
- 4:55English Bible doesn't wisdom. Cry out.
- 4:57Doesn't understanding. Raise her voice.
- 5:00On the top. Of high places, by the way,
- 5:01where the paths? Meet she stands.
- 5:03Beside the gates. At the entry of the city.
- 5:05At the entry. Doors, she cries aloud.
- 5:08I call. To you men I send my voice to
- 5:10the sons of mankind. You simple understand prudence.
- 5:14You fools. Be of an understanding heart
- 5:16here. For I will.
- 5:17Speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for
- 5:20right things, for my mouth speaks truth.
- 5:23Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
- 5:25All the words of my mouth are in righteousness.
- 5:28There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
- 5:30They are all plain to him who understands.
- 5:32Write to those who find knowledge.
- 5:34Receive my instruction rather than silver.
- 5:37Knowledge rather than choice. Gold for wisdom is better than
- 5:40rubies. All the things that may be
- 5:42desired can't be compared to it. I, wisdom, have made prudence my
- 5:46dwelling. Find out knowledge and
- 5:48discretion. The fear of Yahweh is to hate
- 5:51evil. I hate pride.
- 5:53Arrogance, the evil way and the perverse mouth, counsel and
- 5:56sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power
- 6:00by me, King's reign and Prince's.
- 6:01Decree, Justice. By me prince's rule, nobles and
- 6:05all the righteous. Rulers of the Earth I love.
- 6:07Those who love me, those who seek me diligently, will find
- 6:10me. With me are riches, honor,
- 6:12enduring wealth, and prosperity. My fruit is better than gold.
- 6:16Yes. Then fine gold my yield, then
- 6:18choice silver. I walk.
- 6:20In the way. Of righteousness in the middle
- 6:22of the. Paths of Justice.
- 6:23That I may give wealth to those who love me.
- 6:26I feel their treasuries, Yahweh. Possessed me in the beginning of
- 6:29his. Work before his deeds of old.
- 6:31I was set up from everlasting from the beginning, before the
- 6:34earth. Existed.
- 6:36When there were no depths, I was born.
- 6:38When there were no springs abounding with water before the
- 6:41mountains were settled in place. Before the hills.
- 6:43I was born while as yet He had not made the earth, nor the
- 6:47fields, nor the beginning of the dust.
- 6:49Of the world. When he established the heavens,
- 6:51I was there. When He set a circle on the
- 6:54surface of the deep, when He. Established the clouds above.
- 6:57When the springs of the deep became strong, when he gave to
- 7:00the sea its boundary that the waters should not violate his
- 7:03commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
- 7:07then I was the Craftsman by his side.
- 7:09I was a. Delight day by day, always.
- 7:11Rejoicing before him, Rejoicing in his.
- 7:13Whole world. My delight was with the sons of
- 7:16men. Now, therefore, my sons, listen
- 7:18to me for blessed. Are those who.
- 7:19Keep my ways, hear instruction and be wise.
- 7:23Don't refuse it. Blessed is the man who hears me
- 7:26watching daily at my gates, waiting at my.
- 7:28Doorposts for whoever. Finds me, finds life, and will
- 7:31obtain favor from Yahweh. But he who sins against me
- 7:34wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love
- 7:37death. Matthew chapter 23 World English
- 7:40Bible. Then Jesus spoke to the
- 7:42multitudes and to his disciples, saying the scribes and the
- 7:46Pharisees sit on Moses seat all things, therefore whatever.
- 7:49They tell you to observe, Observe.
- 7:51And do, but don't do their works, for they say.
- 7:54And don't do for they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be
- 7:58born, and lay them on men's shoulders.
- 8:00But they. Themselves will not lift a
- 8:02finger to help them. But they do all their works.
- 8:05To be seen by men. They make their phalacteries.
- 8:07Broad and enlarge the fringes of their garments and love the
- 8:11place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
- 8:14the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be.
- 8:17Called Rabbi Rabbi. By men, but you are not to be
- 8:20called. Rabbi.
- 8:21For one is your teacher the Christ, and all of you are.
- 8:24Brothers. Call no man on the earth.
- 8:26Your father, for one, is your. Father, he Who?
- 8:28Is in heaven. Neither be called masters.
- 8:31For one is your master. The Christ, but he who?
- 8:33Is greatest among you will be your servant.
- 8:36Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles
- 8:39himself. Will be exalted.
- 8:41Woe to you. Scribes and Pharisees,
- 8:43hypocrites for you devour widows houses.
- 8:46And as a pretense you make long. Prayers therefore you will
- 8:49receive. Greater condemnation.
- 8:51But woe to. You scribes and Pharisees,
- 8:53hypocrites, because you. Shut up the Kingdom of heaven
- 8:56against men, for you don't enter in yourselves, neither do you
- 8:59allow those who are entering in to enter.
- 9:02Woe to you. Scribes and Pharisees.
- 9:04Hypocrites. For you travel around by sea and
- 9:07land to make one proselyte, and when he becomes 1, you make him
- 9:11twice as much a son of Gehenna as yourselves.
- 9:14Woe to you. You blind guides who say.
- 9:16Whoever swears. By the temple it is nothing.
- 9:18But whoever swears. By the gold of the temple.
- 9:20He is obligated. You blind fools.
- 9:23For which is greater the gold? Or the temple that sanctifies
- 9:26the gold and whoever. Swears by the.
- 9:29Altar. It is nothing.
- 9:30But whoever swears. By the gift that is on it.
- 9:32He is obligated. You blind fools.
- 9:35For which is greater, the gift or the?
- 9:37Altar that sanctifies the gift. He therefore, who swears by the
- 9:41altar, swears by. It and by everything on it.
- 9:44He who? Swears by the temple, swears by
- 9:46it and by him who has been living in it.
- 9:49He who? Swears by heaven, swears by the
- 9:51throne of God and by him who sits on it.
- 9:54Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites.
- 9:57For you tithe mint, dill, and comin, and have left undone the
- 10:00weightier matters of the law, justice, mercy, and faith.
- 10:03But you ought to have done these and not to have left the other
- 10:06undone, you blind guides who strain out a gnat and swallow a
- 10:10camel. Woe to you.
- 10:11Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites for you.
- 10:14Clean the outside of the cup and of the.
- 10:16Platter, but within. They are full of extortion and
- 10:18unrighteousness. You blind Pharisee.
- 10:21First clean the inside of the cup and of the.
- 10:22Platter that it's. Outside may become clean also.
- 10:26Woe to you. Scribes and Pharisees,
- 10:28hypocrites for you are like. White in tombs.
- 10:31Which outwardly appear beautiful.
- 10:33But inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all
- 10:35uncleanness even. So you also outwardly appear
- 10:39righteous. To men.
- 10:40But inwardly you are full of hypocrisy.
- 10:42And iniquity. Woe to you.
- 10:44Scribes and Pharisees. Hypocrites.
- 10:46For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the tombs.
- 10:49Of the righteous. And say if we had lived in the
- 10:52days. Of our fathers.
- 10:53We wouldn't have been partakers with them in the blood.
- 10:55Of the prophets, therefore you testify to yourselves.
- 10:58That you are children of those who.
- 11:00Killed the prophets. Fill up, then the measure of
- 11:03your. Father's.
- 11:04You serpents, you offspring of Vipers.
- 11:06How will you? Escape the judgment of Gehenna.
- 11:08Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes.
- 11:12Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you
- 11:16will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to.
- 11:18City. That on you may come all the
- 11:20righteous blood shed on the earth from the blood.
- 11:23Of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah.
- 11:25Son of Beratia, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the
- 11:29altar, most certainly I tell you, all these things will come
- 11:32upon this generation. Jerusalem.
- 11:35Jerusalem who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to
- 11:38her. How often I would have gathered
- 11:40your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under
- 11:43her wings, and you would not behold.
- 11:46Your house is left to you desolate for I tell you.
- 11:49You will not see me from now on until you say.
