Welcome to Bible Chat where we have.

Devotional conversations rooted in Scripture and relevant for
• 0:07
today, January 20. 6th The real. Flex Choosing.
• 0:13
Wisdom over hype. It's hard not to chase what's
• 0:16
shiny. We live in a world where
• 0:17
  attention feels like. Currency.
• 0:20
Likes followers, recognition being seen as.
• 0:22
Impressive or successful? Everywhere you look, there's
• 0:25
pressure. To flex something your image,
• 0:28
  your intelligence, your influence.
• 0:30
And if you're not careful. You can start believing that
• 0:32
hype equals value, but God invites us to.
• 0:35
Slow down and ask a deeper question.
• 0:37
What actually? Lasts in Proverbs chapter 8
• 0:40
  verses. 10:50. Wisdom speaks clearly.
• 0:43
And confidently take my instruction instead of silver
• 0:46
  and knowledge rather than choice.
• 0:48
Gold for wisdom is better than jewels.
• 0:51
And all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
• 0:54
That's a bold claim. God is saying that everything
• 0:57
  you're tempted. To chase status.
• 0:59
Money, applause, influence. Doesn't come close to the value.
• 1:03
Of wisdom not because those things are always.
• 1:05
Bad but. Because they can't do what?
• 1:07
  Wisdom. Does wisdom.
• 1:09
Guides you when no one is clapping.
• 1:11
Wisdom protects you when hype fades.
• 1:13
Wisdom builds a life that doesn't collapse under pressure
• 1:16
then. Proverbs Chapter. 8 verse 13
• 1:18
sharpens the point even more. It says the fear of the Lord is
• 1:23
hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way
• 1:25
of evil and perverted. Speech I hate.
• 1:28
Wisdom isn't neutral. It doesn't coexist comfortably
• 1:31
with pride. Pride tells you to elevate
• 1:34
  yourself. Protect your.
• 1:35
  Image and always. Look impressive.
• 1:37
Wisdom tells you to walk humbly. Speak.
• 1:39
Truthfully, and reject anything that pulls you away from God's
• 1:43
heart. Jesus puts this on full display
• 1:46
  in Matthew chapter 23. He.
• 1:48
Calls out religious leaders who look.
• 1:50
Spiritual on the outside but were driven by ego on the
• 1:53
inside. They loved attention, titles and
• 1:56
being seen as important, and then Jesus.
• 1:59
Flips the whole idea. Of greatness upside down, he
• 2:02
says. The greatest among you shall be
• 2:04
  your servant, whoever exalts himself.
• 2:06
Will be humbled. And whoever humbles himself.
• 2:08
Will be exalted. In God's Kingdom, greatness
• 2:12
isn't about how high you climb. It's.
• 2:14
About how well. You love and serve.
• 2:16
That's the real flex. Not being the loudest voice, not
• 2:19
being the most admired person in the room, but choosing wisdom
• 2:23
when pride feels easier. Choosing humility when attention
• 2:26
is tempting. Choosing to serve when no one is
• 2:29
watching. Those choices don't always go
• 2:31
  viral. But they shape your.
• 2:32
Character and character. Lasts The world's hype fades
• 2:36
  fast. Trends change, platforms shift,
• 2:39
applause moves on. But wisdom stays.
• 2:41
It grounds you it. Steadies you.
• 2:44
It keeps. Your heart aligned with God when
• 2:46
everything around you is competing for it.
• 2:48
When you choose wisdom over hype, you're not missing out.
• 2:51
  You're investing in something eternal.
• 2:53
You don't. Have to prove yourself you don't
• 2:55
  have. To chase attention.
• 2:56
God already sees you. And when you walk in his wisdom,
• 3:00
he promises honor that doesn't depend on hype and a life that
• 3:03
doesn't fall apart when the spotlight moves on.
• 3:06
Let's pray, Heavenly Father. Thank you for reminding me that
• 3:10
your wisdom is more valuable than anything.
• 3:12
This world celebrates. Help me reject pride, arrogance
• 3:16
and the need for attention. Teach me to walk humbly.
• 3:19
Serve. Others with joy and choose your
• 3:21
truth. Over hype every day shape my
• 3:23
heart to value what? You value and lead me in wisdom
• 3:26
  that lasts. Forever.
• 3:27

more is actually God calling you deeper?

Proverbs, chapter 8. Verses 1 to. 36 World.
• 4:55
English Bible doesn't wisdom. Cry out.
• 4:57
  Doesn't understanding. Raise her voice.
• 5:00
On the top. Of high places, by the way,
• 5:01
where the paths? Meet she stands.
• 5:03
Beside the gates. At the entry of the city.
• 5:05
At the entry. Doors, she cries aloud.
• 5:08
I call. To you men I send my voice to
• 5:10
the sons of mankind. You simple understand prudence.
• 5:14
You fools. Be of an understanding heart
• 5:16
  here. For I will.
• 5:17
Speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for
• 5:20
right things, for my mouth speaks truth.
• 5:23
Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
• 5:25
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness.
• 5:28
There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
• 5:30
They are all plain to him who understands.
• 5:32
Write to those who find knowledge.
• 5:34
Receive my instruction rather than silver.
• 5:37
Knowledge rather than choice. Gold for wisdom is better than
• 5:40
rubies. All the things that may be
• 5:42
desired can't be compared to it. I, wisdom, have made prudence my
• 5:46
  dwelling. Find out knowledge and
• 5:48
discretion. The fear of Yahweh is to hate
• 5:51
  evil. I hate pride.
• 5:53
Arrogance, the evil way and the perverse mouth, counsel and
• 5:56
sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power
• 6:00
by me, King's reign and Prince's.
• 6:01
Decree, Justice. By me prince's rule, nobles and
• 6:05
all the righteous. Rulers of the Earth I love.
• 6:07
Those who love me, those who seek me diligently, will find
• 6:10
me. With me are riches, honor,
• 6:12
enduring wealth, and prosperity. My fruit is better than gold.
• 6:16
Yes. Then fine gold my yield, then
• 6:18
  choice silver. I walk.
• 6:20
In the way. Of righteousness in the middle
• 6:22
  of the. Paths of Justice.
• 6:23
That I may give wealth to those who love me.
• 6:26
I feel their treasuries, Yahweh. Possessed me in the beginning of
• 6:29
his. Work before his deeds of old.
• 6:31
I was set up from everlasting from the beginning, before the
• 6:34
  earth. Existed.
• 6:36
When there were no depths, I was born.
• 6:38
When there were no springs abounding with water before the
• 6:41
mountains were settled in place. Before the hills.
• 6:43
I was born while as yet He had not made the earth, nor the
• 6:47
fields, nor the beginning of the dust.
• 6:49
Of the world. When he established the heavens,
• 6:51
I was there. When He set a circle on the
• 6:54
surface of the deep, when He. Established the clouds above.
• 6:57
When the springs of the deep became strong, when he gave to
• 7:00
the sea its boundary that the waters should not violate his
• 7:03
commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
• 7:07
then I was the Craftsman by his side.
• 7:09
I was a. Delight day by day, always.
• 7:11
Rejoicing before him, Rejoicing in his.
• 7:13
Whole world. My delight was with the sons of
• 7:16
men. Now, therefore, my sons, listen
• 7:18
to me for blessed. Are those who.
• 7:19
Keep my ways, hear instruction and be wise.
• 7:23
Don't refuse it. Blessed is the man who hears me
• 7:26
watching daily at my gates, waiting at my.
• 7:28
Doorposts for whoever. Finds me, finds life, and will
• 7:31
obtain favor from Yahweh. But he who sins against me
• 7:34
wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love
• 7:37
death. Matthew chapter 23 World English
• 7:40
Bible. Then Jesus spoke to the
• 7:42
multitudes and to his disciples, saying the scribes and the
• 7:46
Pharisees sit on Moses seat all things, therefore whatever.
• 7:49
They tell you to observe, Observe.
• 7:51
And do, but don't do their works, for they say.
• 7:54
And don't do for they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be
• 7:58
born, and lay them on men's shoulders.
• 8:00
But they. Themselves will not lift a
• 8:02
finger to help them. But they do all their works.
• 8:05
To be seen by men. They make their phalacteries.
• 8:07
Broad and enlarge the fringes of their garments and love the
• 8:11
place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
• 8:14
the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be.
• 8:17
Called Rabbi Rabbi. By men, but you are not to be
• 8:20
  called. Rabbi.
• 8:21
For one is your teacher the Christ, and all of you are.
• 8:24
Brothers. Call no man on the earth.
• 8:26
Your father, for one, is your. Father, he Who?
• 8:28
Is in heaven. Neither be called masters.
• 8:31
For one is your master. The Christ, but he who?
• 8:33
Is greatest among you will be your servant.
• 8:36
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles
• 8:39
  himself. Will be exalted.
• 8:41
Woe to you. Scribes and Pharisees,
• 8:43
hypocrites for you devour widows houses.
• 8:46
And as a pretense you make long. Prayers therefore you will
• 8:49
  receive. Greater condemnation.
• 8:51
But woe to. You scribes and Pharisees,
• 8:53
hypocrites, because you. Shut up the Kingdom of heaven
• 8:56
against men, for you don't enter in yourselves, neither do you
• 8:59
allow those who are entering in to enter.
• 9:02
Woe to you. Scribes and Pharisees.
• 9:04
Hypocrites. For you travel around by sea and
• 9:07
land to make one proselyte, and when he becomes 1, you make him
• 9:11
twice as much a son of Gehenna as yourselves.
• 9:14
Woe to you. You blind guides who say.
• 9:16
Whoever swears. By the temple it is nothing.
• 9:18
But whoever swears. By the gold of the temple.
• 9:20
He is obligated. You blind fools.
• 9:23
For which is greater the gold? Or the temple that sanctifies
• 9:26
the gold and whoever. Swears by the.
• 9:29
  Altar. It is nothing.
• 9:30
But whoever swears. By the gift that is on it.
• 9:32
He is obligated. You blind fools.
• 9:35
For which is greater, the gift or the?
• 9:37
Altar that sanctifies the gift. He therefore, who swears by the
• 9:41
altar, swears by. It and by everything on it.
• 9:44
He who? Swears by the temple, swears by
• 9:46
it and by him who has been living in it.
• 9:49
He who? Swears by heaven, swears by the
• 9:51
throne of God and by him who sits on it.
• 9:54
Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites.
• 9:57
For you tithe mint, dill, and comin, and have left undone the
• 10:00
weightier matters of the law, justice, mercy, and faith.
• 10:03
But you ought to have done these and not to have left the other
• 10:06
undone, you blind guides who strain out a gnat and swallow a
• 10:10
  camel. Woe to you.
• 10:11
Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites for you.
• 10:14
Clean the outside of the cup and of the.
• 10:16
Platter, but within. They are full of extortion and
• 10:18
  unrighteousness. You blind Pharisee.
• 10:21
First clean the inside of the cup and of the.
• 10:22
Platter that it's. Outside may become clean also.
• 10:26
Woe to you. Scribes and Pharisees,
• 10:28
hypocrites for you are like. White in tombs.
• 10:31
  Which outwardly appear beautiful.
• 10:33
But inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all
• 10:35
uncleanness even. So you also outwardly appear
• 10:39
  righteous. To men.
• 10:40
But inwardly you are full of hypocrisy.
• 10:42
  And iniquity. Woe to you.
• 10:44
  Scribes and Pharisees. Hypocrites.
• 10:46
For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the tombs.
• 10:49
Of the righteous. And say if we had lived in the
• 10:52
  days. Of our fathers.
• 10:53
We wouldn't have been partakers with them in the blood.
• 10:55
Of the prophets, therefore you testify to yourselves.
• 10:58
That you are children of those who.
• 11:00
Killed the prophets. Fill up, then the measure of
• 11:03
  your. Father's.
• 11:04
You serpents, you offspring of Vipers.
• 11:06
How will you? Escape the judgment of Gehenna.
• 11:08
Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes.
• 11:12
Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you
• 11:16
will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to.
• 11:18
City. That on you may come all the
• 11:20
righteous blood shed on the earth from the blood.
• 11:23
Of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah.
• 11:25
Son of Beratia, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the
• 11:29
altar, most certainly I tell you, all these things will come
• 11:32
  upon this generation. Jerusalem.
• 11:35
Jerusalem who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to
• 11:38
her. How often I would have gathered
• 11:40
your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under
• 11:43
her wings, and you would not behold.
• 11:46
Your house is left to you desolate for I tell you.
• 11:49
You will not see me from now on until you say.
