Transcript
- 0:00Hey everyone, you're listening to the Curt Landry podcast where we're going to help you
- 0:07discover your kingdom destiny.
- 0:10My name is Darrell and sitting right beside me, it's his show, Rabbi Curt and Landry himself.
- 0:16And in this episode, Rabbi, we're going to be breaking down spiritual warfare.
- 0:22But first, before we jump right in, how is things going for you?
- 0:26Well Darrell, listen, I'm honored to be on the program here today to be able to share
- 0:32with people what really I think that if I could really deposit one aspect of spiritual
- 0:39life to people, it would be the spiritual warfare component.
- 0:44Because to the degree that you understand how that works and be able to do it successfully
- 0:49determines so much about your health, your wealth, your relationships, and most of all,
- 0:55your ability to obey God.
- 0:57So Rabbi, this is your first episode of your new podcast.
- 1:02What's really the direction that you want the audience to kind of feel?
- 1:07Because a lot of this stuff is really kind of jumping in to your extreme history of everything
- 1:14that you've kind of done.
- 1:15But where exactly do you really want to take it?
- 1:19Basically what I want to do is really is about legacy, and you know, everybody has something
- 1:27that is their favorite thing to do in life.
- 1:30And I would say mine would be the impartation to unlock people's kingdom destiny.
- 1:37If I can share something, and I've, listen, I've, Kristi and I've heard this before, where
- 1:44we'll meet somebody, we haven't seen them in like two or three years.
- 1:47It happened on this last trip to Israel.
- 1:50And they'll say something like, well, you know what, you don't remember this.
- 1:53You maybe don't even remember meeting me, but you said this and it changed my life.
- 1:59And so I really kind of hope that this podcast would be relational in the way that we could
- 2:08share things that would trigger spiritual change in people's lives, new ideas and concepts
- 2:16to give them kind of the faith to be able to try new things, to be able to grow.
- 2:21All right.
- 2:22So let's start with this.
- 2:23What is spiritual warfare?
- 2:26I think the best explanation is Ephesians chapter six, where it says in 12, for we do
- 2:31not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers
- 2:38of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness and heavenly places.
- 2:44So as easy and clear as that is said, Paul speaking to the church at Ephesus, I think
- 2:53people struggle with the fact.
- 2:55And you'll hear people say, well, you think there's a demon behind every bush.
- 3:01But really, I want to try to back into this a little differently.
- 3:07The spirit of how something operates.
- 3:11Let's take the evil side out.
- 3:13Just the collective spirit will determine the outcome.
- 3:21I'll give you an example.
- 3:22I was watching the NFL the week before last.
- 3:28I was watching the Dallas Cowboys, a fantastic game.
- 3:32They were playing in Dallas and they won, I think it was their 12th game that they had
- 3:38won.
- 3:39And then, so I'm walking, and I don't watch a lot of football, but I've been a little
- 3:46bit under the weather, so I'm watching some television.
- 3:49And so now I'm going to watch them play Buffalo.
- 3:52And I'm going, man, this is going to be a great game.
- 3:54Let's watch this happen.
- 3:56Now I'm a behaviorist, okay?
- 3:59My mother was an Olympic athlete.
- 4:02I understand the whole mental concept of sports.
- 4:08And so I'm looking at sports from a different level.
- 4:11I can tell you the spiritual side.
- 4:16The spiritual side of the Dallas Cowboys who showed up in Buffalo was not who played in
- 4:21Dallas.
- 4:23They were totally defeated.
- 4:27They didn't have energy.
- 4:29They didn't have synergy.
- 4:33And Buffalo just ran over them.
- 4:38And the reason is because they were mentally defeated before the game even started.
- 4:44Now I don't know what happened, but I could just tell by the way that they were running
- 4:48off and on the field, the expression of the sideline and the coach, that it wasn't the
- 4:54same team.
- 4:55So that was a spirit.
- 4:56So what happened is they lost the game.
- 5:00They are still physically capable of playing the game as they were the week before, but
- 5:05they were mentally and spiritually, they were not ready for Buffalo.
- 5:11And you know, Buffalo is very physical, so they can apply a lot of physical pressure.
- 5:16And that, you know, people getting hurt, people getting shamed and run over, and then that
- 5:21defeatist attitude came upon them.
- 5:25And they lost the game.
- 5:26Now people would say, well, what do you mean spiritual warfare?
- 5:29Spiritual warfare has a lot to do with attitude.
- 5:32Because if your attitude is not positive, then what happens is you attract in the spirit
- 5:38realm, you attract evil spirits like despair, hopelessness, doubt, unbelief.
- 5:43All right, so let's walk it back a little bit.
- 5:46So let's walk it back to when war in Israel was announced, right?
- 5:55You popped on about 4 a.m. that morning, jumped in, really announced it to the Curtland Tree
- 6:01Ministries Facebook and YouTube channel.
- 6:06And let's sit from this perspective that what the perception of what was happening in Israel,
- 6:13right?
- 6:14And then let's now push about a month, month and a half forward.
- 6:19You went to Israel for around a week.
- 6:22And what was the reality in the spiritual warfare that, hey, when you first announced
- 6:28it, perception, right?
- 6:30As time went on, Curtland Tree Ministries did a ton of stuff with Stand With Israel
- 6:35to do numerous things for the IDF and the people of Israel.
- 6:42But what was that perception versus reality on the spiritual warfare right now?
- 6:48OK, so it's interesting you ask because you know that I went on the air, I think it was
- 6:53about 3.30 on October the 7th.
- 6:57So what happened, first of all, Sam gave me I get a call from from Israel and and the
- 7:03call is pretty panicky.
- 7:05And they said, listen, we need you to pray and you need to know we're under attack.
- 7:12So for our guests, you know, 34 years experience, this last trip was our 49th trip to Israel
- 7:21have worked with the IDF over 25 years.
- 7:24So we're seasoned.
- 7:28And actually what happened there, I don't know if you know this or not, but at 3.30
- 7:31when it went up, Prime Minister Netanyahu did not declare war.
- 7:37I was actually the one and I'm not taking credit, but the Lord told me as I'm going
- 7:42on the air, he said, you need to declare war.
- 7:45This is a war.
- 7:48And that's part of the training of spiritual warfare is that you have to know that you're
- 7:52not being terrorized.
- 7:54You're you're not being assaulted.
- 7:57You're actually in a war.
- 8:00And so what's happening in Israel in the south.
- 8:05So you're looking at Storot, Ofakim, Kibbutz Kavar, Kibbutz, the different places in the
- 8:11south.
- 8:12They have been accustomed to and comfortable with rockets coming in and the Iron Dome knocking
- 8:18the rockets down.
- 8:20But this is the first time over three thousand militants actually came in with motorcycles
- 8:25and trucks and cars and literally kites flying over the border and actually doing what I
- 8:32would call more, not just an assault, but like a home invasion.
- 8:36They knew the Kibbutz that that they were attacking.
- 8:40They many of them work in the factories that are in the Kibbutz.
- 8:45Many of them have had dinner in the homes of the people in these kibbutz.
- 8:49So they knew where the layout of the homes were, the safe houses, the safe rooms in the
- 8:53house.
- 8:54They knew where everything was.
- 8:55And so when when I was called and I put on went online and I saw them at this music festival
- 9:05literally chasing down people, shooting them, grabbing girls, putting them on motorcycles
- 9:11and taking them back into Gaza.
- 9:14This is the first time in Israel's history where there's actually kidnapping, murder,
- 9:22rape, pillaging, killing children.
- 9:27Just the brutality was was most monstrous.
- 9:31And so we knew that this was a war because the Hamas knows that there will be mass retaliation
- 9:41from from what they did.
- 9:43And of course, there has been and we're not near done yet.
- 9:47OK, so the perception on that, right?
- 9:53Moving forward, boots on the ground.
- 9:57What was the emotion?
- 9:59And you know, can you describe senses, you know, like kind of what you felt with the
- 10:04wind and the taste of the air and just like what's the reality of what you saw?
- 10:12So first of all, at this point, Christie and I have lost 10 commanders, OK, that these
- 10:20are men that we've worked with for, let's say, five, ten years.
- 10:27So we have relationship with them.
- 10:29So first of all, you have to deal with the in war now.
- 10:36And this is what the soldiers do.
- 10:37But Christie and I are like kind of a part of it.
- 10:40We have to process mentally the same way.
- 10:43There's no time to mourn.
- 10:45There's no time to grief.
- 10:46You're in war.
- 10:48You've got to make decisions.
- 10:50You have to have a reaction.
- 10:54And so so the first key, first of all, we went to the base, we went to the Gaza base,
- 11:02the one that was overrun, and we interviewed the soldiers there.
- 11:07We actually interviewed the young girl that that was responsible for the Intel failure
- 11:14that that and how that happened.
- 11:17They explained all that.
- 11:18We can go into that later.
- 11:20But what you're asking is the feeling.
- 11:23First of all, you're going through a neighborhood.
- 11:27See this key puts is these are houses.
- 11:30This is communal living.
- 11:31But it's basically like you if you're in America or something, it's like going into a neighborhood
- 11:36and you're seeing houses, some houses not touched.
- 11:41Excuse me.
- 11:43And then others completely burnt out.
- 11:47And you're seeing bullet ridden whole houses you're seeing.
- 11:50And when I say bullet ridden, I'm talking about a thousand 30 caliber bullet holes and
- 11:57RPGs where they go in and there's about a two inch hole.
- 12:03And what it does is it goes into the house and when it gets into the house, you'll see
- 12:07where it explodes on the inside wall of the house and then catches everything on fire.
- 12:16And I didn't let Christie go in the houses, but I went in the houses.
- 12:19So what you're seeing, first of all, there's places that are still smoking.
- 12:25The smell of death, it's everywhere.
- 12:29So your sensory base is getting just overrun.
- 12:36And I mean, I literally went into a house where there was an oven that they put a child
- 12:41in the oven and turn the oven on and killed the baby.
- 12:49There's you know, literally, Christie and I went through deliverance when we came home
- 12:54with some friends for for trauma.
- 12:58And actually, I got sick when I came home.
- 13:01And the diagnosis of the sickness was that we saw and it wasn't just in the south, we
- 13:07went everywhere.
- 13:08But we saw so much death and we heard so many stories of death.
- 13:16And we went to go see the soldiers in the in the Shiva hospital there in Tel Aviv.
- 13:21So you're you know, you're looking at people.
- 13:25I'm interviewing a young man.
- 13:27His right eye is shut out.
- 13:29And then the back of the left side of his brain is gone.
- 13:33So he's a bandage.
- 13:34There's a big cave in.
- 13:35He's going to have to have a plate in his head.
- 13:36And yet he can still talk.
- 13:39You're seeing people with bullet ridden.
- 13:44Their legs are just where machine guns just you know, there's 10 or 15 penetrations.
- 13:54And when you see all that, they say the reason when I came home, I got so sick was they said
- 14:01that when you experience that much trauma, then what happens is your immune system actually
- 14:08shuts down from the trauma.
- 14:10And they believe that's what happened to me.
- 14:12So I just got, you know, like a severe flu and is in bed for several days and sick.
- 14:19So this is the first time I've even come out since the meeting.
- 14:22It's been, it was about a two week time being down.
- 14:28But one of the questions that I was asked, it's interesting because my friend John Smoltz,
- 14:35you know, John called me and he asked, he says, I need to ask you a question, Rabbi.
- 14:41He says, what's that?
- 14:43He said, how do you deal with the anger?
- 14:48And I never thought about it.
- 14:51And I said to him, well, first of all, my assignment, my spiritual warfare assignment
- 14:59on the Gaza border at these bases and the kibbutz's.
- 15:04And it was the only day there was an extended day of a ceasefire.
- 15:07So we were able to go.
- 15:09And so we're there, we're with heavily armed troops.
- 15:12I mean, if you can imagine, we're walking around with our camera guy and we've got
- 15:18soldiers all around us, heavily armed, literally watching the perimeter.
- 15:27And I literally, I just, I felt like I didn't put on our bulletproof vests or a helmet or
- 15:31anything.
- 15:32I wasn't trying to add drama to this.
- 15:33I wanted this to be real.
- 15:36And I was talking to a gentleman that had lost his son.
- 15:40And I didn't want to traumatize it more by him, me being there with a vest on and all
- 15:46the stuff.
- 15:50But what John asked me, he said, how do you deal with the anger?
- 15:53I said, you really have to get to a spiritual warfare place.
- 15:57And I said, what I did was I mentally took myself in my head to Jesus on the cross.
- 16:11And I had to mentally think, look what they did to him.
- 16:18He's sinless.
- 16:19He did nothing.
- 16:21It's like these people.
- 16:22Now, listen, the people in the kibbutz aren't sinless, but they weren't attacking anyone.
- 16:27They were having a peace festival.
- 16:29It was the last day of Sukkot.
- 16:32Literally, one of the houses I went to had a kite, a child's kite that was burned and
- 16:39was on fire.
- 16:40That child, I know his uncle Doran, and his uncle was telling me that they were flying
- 16:51kites with the Palestinian kids that day.
- 16:54Literally, they were flying kites together as a sign of peace the day the attack came.
- 17:01Such a betrayal in relationship.
- 17:06So what I had to do is I had to go into the mind of the Lord, put myself, so to say, if
- 17:12I was like Jesus, if I was on the cross, they had just plucked out my beard.
- 17:16They put 39 stripes on my back.
- 17:19They're getting ready to drive.
- 17:21They drove nails through my hands.
- 17:22They pierced my side.
- 17:25They spit.
- 17:26They mocked me.
- 17:27They put a sign above my head saying, here's the king of the Jews.
- 17:30I have the ability to be angry.
- 17:34I have the ability to call down all heaven's army, as Jesus did, and yet he chose to say
- 17:42these words.
- 17:43He says, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.
- 17:47So I had to go back.
- 17:48I hope I'm not going too deep here, but what happened is my assignment on the Gaza border
- 17:55was to spiritually cleanse and reconcile so that the victory for the soldiers can come.
- 18:03And the commanders and the soldiers all know that.
- 18:06Everywhere we went, to the north, Kariot Shemona, the West Bank, everywhere we went, some of
- 18:13the places, I can't tell you where we went, but every place that we went, they wanted
- 18:19Christy and I there, and they all said, would you please pray?
- 18:23So here's the key about prayer.
- 18:25And I told this to John Smoltz.
- 18:26I said, John, I can't pray if I'm mad, if I'm angry, if I'm wanting to kill him.
- 18:32Did I get angry?
- 18:34Did I want to do it?
- 18:35Yes.
- 18:36Your first man, human instinct is to go to one of the soldiers and say, give me your
- 18:41gun.
- 18:42I'm going to go find them and shoot them.
- 18:43I mean, you're just, it's the innocence to the children.
- 18:49It's like, whoa.
- 18:51But you, but what's your assignment?
- 18:53Your assignment is to repent, cleanse the land so that when the soldiers come in who
- 19:03are depending on us, can get a spiritual victory.
- 19:06It's called intercessory prayer warfare.
- 19:09So I told John that and his response to me says that's interesting because he played
- 19:15in the first game in New York after 9-11.
- 19:19And for the people that don't know John, he's a pitcher, a Hall of Fame pitcher for the
- 19:24Braves.
- 19:27And he said, I can totally relate to Rabbi because all of my team went to ground zero.
- 19:35They took them to ground zero and then they played the game.
- 19:39And the reason they chose to play the game was to try to bring some community, healthy
- 19:44normalcy after 9-11 to the New Yorkers.
- 19:49And so, but John said, he said, he said the only player he said I couldn't go because
- 19:57he said, I knew if I went, I would get so angry.
- 20:00I wouldn't be able to focus on my game and I couldn't play the game.
- 20:06And I said, well, that's what happened to me.
- 20:09I had to choose not to battle against flesh and blood, but the powers and principalities
- 20:16and the heavenly host dark places.
- 20:18And Darrell, I'll tell you, I've been all over the world.
- 20:24I've seen a lot of bad stuff.
- 20:29But the experience Christie and I had of the demonic behavior of demons is at a whole
- 20:40other level because of what you saw us and smelled and was testified of.
- 20:47So when Jesus says these words like that Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy and I've
- 20:53come to give life, that takes on a whole other meaning for me.
- 20:57It's different now.
- 20:58Yeah.
- 20:59And I'm not a naive person.
- 21:00I mean, I was raised in Los Angeles during the Watts riots in the sixties.
- 21:05I came out of a neighborhood where I've seen people shot and killed, you know, before I
- 21:10was 18.
- 21:11So, I mean, it's not like I wasn't raised like my, my wife and McCallister where she
- 21:16didn't see hardly any violence.
- 21:18I was raised around violent activity, but I never not like this.
- 21:27This isn't even war.
- 21:28This is brutality.
- 21:34I was interviewing Doron Amag, the president of the Jewish Agency, my friend who lost his
- 21:41some of his family down in Kibbutz Kivar.
- 21:44And he said, he said, they're not animals, Kurt.
- 21:47He said animals only kill for food or they're mating or competing, but they don't just randomly
- 21:56kill.
- 21:58And he said, he said, these are monsters.
- 22:00And that's what I, that's what basically we observed as a monstrous act.
- 22:07But we have to understand that we have the power that we are truly more than conquerors
- 22:12through Christ Jesus.
- 22:13You know, last year I had a prophetic word in 2023 early that, and I think I did 10 weeks
- 22:20of teaching on spiritual warfare.
- 22:23And I really think that the preparation time of spiritual warfare, emotional healing, the
- 22:28things that I was teaching really helped us for the preparation of being able to operate
- 22:36successfully on this trip.
- 22:39Because not only did we have to go and see all this, but we had to get in and out of
- 22:43it safely without getting killed.
- 22:47And so we went to the south, they extended the ceasefire.
- 22:52We prayed before we went in, our team prayed.
- 22:57The next day, ceasefire stopped.
- 23:00The very place we were at received three rockets.
- 23:04So and then we went to the north up to Kariot Shemona.
- 23:09We were there and 45 minutes after we left, three rockets came in.
- 23:12So there's, there's real practical application to spiritual warfare to know how to shut things
- 23:17down so that you spiritually can get in and out of dangerous situations safely.
- 23:23And we'll be right back.
- 23:24It's a new year and a new you.

- 24:55our son-in-law Paul Marcelino, his dad, Yocana Marcelino, helped to produce this book and
- 25:02the whole purpose of this book, Jerusalem Rising, is to be able to bring visual evidence
- 25:11that Jerusalem and Israel actually belongs to the children of the God of Abraham, Isaac
- 25:18and Jacob.
- 25:19That this is the land of Isaac and the miracle power.
- 25:26They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and this book captures that.
- 25:32So listen, I'm really blessed for a limited time and while supplies last, you can get

- 26:06All right, now back to the show.
- 26:09So I guess the next thought is, do you have an urge to go back?
- 26:12I mean, you know, I'm talking like in the next couple of weeks.
- 26:15I mean, it's something that you explain, hey, like you were telling me, I think about a
- 26:22week ago, you've really only been sick like four times in your life that you can really
- 26:27remember being sick sick.
- 26:31And you come back, right, and you're battling all this stuff and you get sick.
- 26:37And so reflecting off what that perception versus reality, because you experienced it
- 26:45and you were sick, and now you're starting to kind of come over the edge a little bit.
- 26:50Is there an urge to get back like, I mean, even if you don't do it, but like the inner
- 26:56inside of you of what you experience in relationships and the people that you know, do you have
- 27:01an urge just to hop back on a plane and get back out there?
- 27:04Well, first of all, it's just like in a podcast mentoring way, okay.
- 27:12The first night of Hanukkah when we got, we just got back.
- 27:15And in fact, I think you mentioned it.
- 27:17I don't think you realized or anybody, but I was running a fever.
- 27:23I was extremely ill that night.
- 27:27I mean, I'm looking down at my notes and the letters are blurring and moving.
- 27:33That's pretty impressive because you delivered it.
- 27:35Yeah.
- 27:36And the reason, see, that's part of the spiritual warfare is I made a commitment to the Lord.
- 27:41I would never let Satan control my schedule.
- 27:45I can tell you in 34 years and thousands of times speaking, maybe tens of thousands, I
- 27:52don't know, I've never missed a service because I was sick.
- 27:59Have I been sick in services?
- 28:01Oh, absolutely.
- 28:03And that was one of them.
- 28:04I mean, I was really, that's why I just, everyone wanted to love on us because of what
- 28:09we were doing, but Christie was not feeling well either.
- 28:12So we had to go to the green room and we left.
- 28:14So then we come back a week later and we're bringing the rewards of Hanukkah and I'm
- 28:19still sick.
- 28:23So here's the key is what did I learn from that?
- 28:28Are we going to go back?
- 28:29Yes, we're going back.
- 28:30They want us to come back.
- 28:32But this trip was kind of, there was twofold.
- 28:35Number one is the comfort.
- 28:38Scripture says, comfort ye, comfort my people.
- 28:43I lost count of how many of my tough special forces guys literally wept when they saw us
- 28:54walk in the door.
- 28:57That's not like them, not like me.
- 29:01But we knew we were at Israel's 9-11.
- 29:05We knew that Israel was never going back to be the same again, that what happened has
- 29:11changed the nation and the region and the world forever.
- 29:16And it was unspoken.
- 29:20So just the embrace and the hugs and being there, it was a comfort trip.
- 29:26The warfare side of it was the Lord allowed us to go to every strategic high place that
- 29:32we needed to go to and do the spiritual warfare by praying, decreeing, pulling down the strongholds,
- 29:39canceling assignments of the enemy.
- 29:41So we were able to do that.
- 29:43But that was done in a very private way.
- 29:47But the next time we go back, what will happen is the next layer of warfare will be to speak
- 29:53words of knowledge, to speak prophetic words.
- 29:58You know, the trip you were on with us, we went in and we had prophetic words for the
- 30:04mayor of Jerusalem and the minister of defense, Yoav Galant.
- 30:11And those words that I spoke to them have happened.
- 30:13And a lot of it was warning them about this war to come.
- 30:16So this next visit, you're asking, yes, there will be a next visit.
- 30:21I don't know when.
- 30:23But I can tell you this.
- 30:25And this is spiritual warfare.
- 30:27I will, the vitamins and the rest, I will definitely increase all of my vitamins and
- 30:37my rest.
- 30:38We left very tired and very fatigued at the end of the year.
- 30:43And so, and you know, we just squeezed this, we felt like we had to be there at this, another
- 30:48spiritual warfare principle.
- 30:50The Lord said, you got to go from this day to that day.
- 30:53And it was perfect because every place we went, we couldn't have gone if we were a day
- 30:58late.
- 31:00But one of the keys is, is that this next trip, we're going to, you know, we belong
- 31:06to salt health.
- 31:07And so we'll go and get vitamin injections.
- 31:10We'll be rested.
- 31:12Spiritually, we'll take our game up to a higher level.
- 31:15What does that mean?
- 31:16We'll spend more time meditating on doors open and weak places in our life.
- 31:22And we'll just take it to another level so we can get in and out.
- 31:27Like I say, it's our 49th trip.
- 31:29I've only been sick on one other trip there.
- 31:32And that was my first trip there back in 91.
- 31:36So, but anyway, that's what we'll do.
- 31:38We'll just, we'll take it up.
- 31:39And do we want to go back?
- 31:41Absolutely.
- 31:42We, this, this, this war, I don't think people understand.
- 31:49This spirit, spiritual warfare, is not really even about Israel.
- 31:53This isn't really even about Hamas and Hezbollah.
- 31:56What this is, is this is about an evil Persian ancient spirit that is literally marching
- 32:02in the universities in the Ivy League in the United States and other places.
- 32:06So, so we're going to have to learn how to overcome this spirit spiritually with the
- 32:12proper strategies.
- 32:14And the Lord's given me some prophetic words I'll be releasing in the first quarter of
- 32:18this year in regards to how to overcome that.
- 32:22And for the listeners listening, if you want to know more about how you can help Israel,
- 32:27you can Stand With Israel.
- 32:29You just go over to our website, visit curtlandry.com forward slash stand with Israel.
- 32:36Again, it's curtlandry.com.
- 32:38Stand With Israel.
- 32:40You hit the forward slash on that.
- 32:43Tons of great individual ask.
- 32:45Rabbi, you know, it does a really good job on this landing page.
- 32:49There's a lot of content, a lot of videos that you can watch.
- 32:51But you know, I think our team's doing a really good job to break it down and say like, here's
- 32:58where these phases are, and here's where these ask are.
- 33:02Well, let's talk about that.
- 33:05So, when the war starts that night, you know, that morning, I announced that Israel's at
- 33:14war.
- 33:18And I'm being obedient to God, but I'm also waiting because I knew I did this and that
- 33:23Prime Minister Netanyahu hadn't done it yet.
- 33:26And I do know that they watch me and listen to what I say.
- 33:31So I'm waiting like, oh my gosh, I told Christie, it's like six in the morning and I'm saying
- 33:36I'm waiting on my phone to ring going, Lord, who are you to say where it's war?
- 33:41It's the prime minister's job, not yours.
- 33:44But anyway, it didn't happen.
- 33:46And it turned out later that day that Bibi did announce it.
- 33:50So the first thing is like, okay, what's the main need?
- 33:55And the main need were the bulletproof vest and the helmets.
- 33:58Now you have to understand the full-time army has all these things, but the reserves, they
- 34:03called up initially, it was like, I think they started out with two, don't quote me,
- 34:07but it was like 250,000 guys and gals they call up.
- 34:12And eventually it got up over 350.
- 34:16But these are just regular people.
- 34:18These are your barber, the accountant, the nurse, the school teacher, I mean, the banker.
- 34:24And they're coming back in in the reserves.
- 34:26And so some of them don't even have proper uniforms or boots and they don't have bulletproof
- 34:32vests.
- 34:33So the first phase, we got bulletproof vests, and then we got bulletproof helmets because
- 34:38they were just getting the traditional helmets.
- 34:41And these things have already, we know have saved life.
- 34:44And then we got them boots because, you know, you got to be able to keep your footing and
- 34:51gloves and uniforms and flashlights and power packs to store, to charge their phones.
- 35:00It turns out when they went into the medical supplies, the bandages that are the ones to
- 35:05use to coagulate and stop bleeding from blunt trauma, they're outdated.
- 35:14So we went and bought these bandages that are really expensive.
- 35:18So we supplied the medics.
- 35:21I mean, it just goes on and on.
- 35:24But here's where we're at right now and what I want to speak to our podcast audience about
- 35:29morning, is that when we were in the South, you would see one kibbutz and it was all burned
- 35:34out and fired and the next one was fine and kind of random.
- 35:38And so when I asked my friend that was taking us through there as a Mossad agent, he said
- 35:43this kibbutz had security, meaning not just police and the soldiers, but the actual people
- 35:50that live there were armed, bulletproof vest, helmets, flash, you know, the lights on the
- 35:57helmet, nightlights, all this stuff.
- 36:00They had everything they need and to defend.
- 36:03And so what happens is when Hamas came in and these terrorists came in, militants, they
- 36:08left those alone because they didn't want to be shot back at and killed.
- 36:12They went to where there was no protection.
- 36:15And so when I saw that, in fact, I was coming back from the South, I got a phone call from
- 36:20the mayor and he were here when I interviewed him as Benny Kassara from Ma'el Domeim.
- 36:29He's been the mayor for 35 years there.
- 36:31Well, he's in a very vulnerable spot.
- 36:33If you've been to Israel, you come down, you're going down to Jericho.
- 36:37It's the first big neighborhood village that's on the right side, on the south side of the
- 36:42highway and across the other side is Ramallah, where the checkpoint is.
- 36:47And so Palestinians are coming in doing home invasions there.
- 36:51He said, we need to equip 36 soldiers.
- 36:54He called me.
- 36:55He says, we have 36 retired special forces guys and regular soldiers and we need all
- 37:02the equipment.
- 37:03He said, we need $3,000 a guy to equip them and we need it tomorrow.
- 37:09So I'm there and I just said, we're going to do it, Benny, because after seeing this
- 37:15and then being and working at Ma'el Domeim for all these years, I knew the vulnerability.
- 37:23So that's what we're doing.
- 37:25So you can literally sow seed providing bulletproof helmets, gloves, uniforms, flashlights, walkie
- 37:32talkies.
- 37:34And the other thing we've done is there's 36 safe houses from bombs in Ma'el Domeim.
- 37:40We redid all of them and we put water and plumbing in so they can use the restroom and
- 37:46get water.
- 37:48This was not an issue.
- 37:49The last time they used safe houses in Ma'el Domeim was in 67, Six Day War.
- 37:55So that's a real practical thing that I think the prevention of it.
- 38:01And of course, they brought in the news when we were there and the news channels were running
- 38:05and filming it.
- 38:07So everyone knows that they're armed and prepared for what's coming.
- 38:15And so far they haven't had an attack of that.
- 38:18So I think it's amazing to me and I just really am impressed with the Curt Landry ministry
- 38:23supporters that you have the foresight and the heart to be able to understand one of
- 38:30the biggest spiritual warfare principles is preparation is the key to victory.
- 38:37And that's CurtLandry.com forward slash Stan with Israel to find out more and about how
- 38:43you can help.
- 38:44All right.
- 38:45So Rabbi, we're getting towards the end of this episode.
- 38:47Let's just get practical for the listeners here because we've jumped in and really broke
- 38:53down a lot of practical and relational stories and things that especially has happened recently
- 39:02in regards to spiritual warfare.
- 39:04And so I want to get to a couple of things that I'm just going to fire at you and I want
- 39:10you to kind of lead people through.
- 39:13The first area is how do you actually recognize spiritual warfare and or put it this way,
- 39:21how do you recognize if you're actually going through it?
- 39:25First of all, you have to look at the symptoms.
- 39:28One of the biggest free download blogs that we've ever had is the one I did on how do
- 39:37you identify a Jezebel spirit?
- 39:40And I can't remember how many symptoms it but so I just basically put a list of the
- 39:47symptoms in there and I would recommend that they go.
- 39:52We don't have it.
- 39:53We're not prepared with the.
- 39:54We'll throw it in the show notes in the description of this episode.
- 39:57But definitely listen, that's a great learning because what you can do is saying, am I being
- 40:04influenced by this in this case, a Jezebelic witchcraft spirit and then go down the symptoms
- 40:10of that.
- 40:15But in a real practical way, when you start having what we call in our family little foxes,
- 40:23when you have too many things that are constantly going wrong, there's a pretty good chance
- 40:31that you have some kind of a demonic spirit tormenting you and you know, you're dropping
- 40:41things, you're breaking things.
- 40:47Small things happen and you emotionally just overreact.
- 40:50You can't even understand like, why did I get so mad about this?
- 40:54I mean, I'm like flipping out.
- 40:55It's like nothing.
- 40:57When those type of things happening happen, most likely you're being attacked or you've
- 41:03picked up what I call a trailer or you've got a trailing spirit and or you're having
- 41:11oppression.
- 41:13You're having bizarre sexual thoughts.
- 41:16OK.
- 41:17Every human being has a certain amount of sexual thoughts and that are kind of more
- 41:23normal for the person.
- 41:27But when you start having like weird perverted sexual thoughts, more than likely you've
- 41:32picked up an unclean spirit somewhere.
- 41:34And those things need to just be cut off.
- 41:37Financially, you're getting drained.
- 41:40I mean, it's like, oh my gosh, the refrigerator goes out, the ice maker goes out.
- 41:46You have a flat tire on the car and you weren't able to and you got to go take and get the
- 41:50tire plugged.
- 41:51I mean, it's like it's not the end of the world.
- 41:54But when you start seeing these things come one, two, three, four or five, you're under
- 41:58a spiritual attack.
- 42:01And what you have to do is you have to cancel those attacks.
- 42:03OK, so that leads me to this.
- 42:06What do you actually do right from a spiritual but what's the physical sense in it as well?
- 42:13Because physical action has to occur.
- 42:16How do you actually defeat it?
- 42:18So like now that I know, right?
- 42:20So like say they take a resource on this and watch one of those Shabbat's that you really
- 42:25kind of break it down, right?
- 42:28What do they do?
- 42:29How do they defeat it?
- 42:30Well, first of all, we have a workbook on spiritual warfare and I think it's 10 chapters.
- 42:38I would go through that and also we have 10 classes.
- 42:44I would go through 12 victory in spiritual warfare.
- 42:47It's actually a playlist.
- 42:49If you look up Curt Landry Ministries YouTube, you just go to playlists.
- 42:53There's 12 of them.
- 42:54OK, well, what I would do is I'd get a partner or a small group and I just watch it and then
- 42:59go through the workbook.
- 43:01And that's where I go.
- 43:02Yeah, it's not, there's no quick fix for spiritual warfare.
- 43:08I mean, you know, your authority that you have needs to be recognized in heaven.
- 43:19You know, in the book of Acts, there were people casting out demons and so the demon
- 43:25came and just beat up and trashed the person.
- 43:28And the demon said to the person that was trying to cast out in Jesus' name, he says,
- 43:32All I know, Jesus, I know, he says, Who are you?
- 43:35So there's a certain amount of spiritual warfare lifestyle so that the enemy knows
- 43:43like who you are.
- 43:45OK, so like, for instance, when we came back from the trip, we knew, Christie, I knew we
- 43:53took a hit.
- 43:55First of all, it's not, we've been doing this a long time.
- 43:59I knew for us, you know, at almost 70 years old, we're doing a long international trip.
- 44:09No rest in and out.
- 44:11Didn't sleep when we were there.
- 44:12You've been with us.
- 44:13You know what it's like.
- 44:14I mean, eight o'clock in the morning, you hit it.
- 44:16We're back in the hotel at midnight.
- 44:19So every day and it's a work trip.
- 44:22It's a work trip.
- 44:23There's no everyone always says, oh, 100%.
- 44:26So glad.
- 44:27The hotel we stayed at had a pool, an indoor pool.
- 44:29And they said, oh, could it be so great?
- 44:31You can swim.
- 44:32We know you love to swim.
- 44:33And saying, yeah, really.
- 44:34I never even went and looked at it.
- 44:36It's kind of funny how people ask me my first experience going to Israel on my trip.
- 44:42I think I was out there eight, nine days.
- 44:45And I said, guys, like, I don't think you understand that just not in general of these
- 44:50types of film trips, but like I experienced it through a lens.
- 44:55And we were working 12 to 14 hour days and I'll send in footage and photos back at 1,
- 45:012 a.m. because I had to try to get it back.
- 45:04So then we're able to share the content with everybody that's donating towards these certain
- 45:09projects.
- 45:10So it's it's a work trip.
- 45:14Yeah.
- 45:15So so anyway, we knew we were going to take a hit.
- 45:17But when we got back, what happened is we have other friends that are leaders and travel
- 45:24internationally.
- 45:25You know, they go to Africa, they go to Korea, they go different places.
- 45:30OK.
- 45:31And so we, you know, we called them so they understand like they're seasoned.
- 45:37They've been in ministry 30, 40 years like us and we're friends, but they have authority.
- 45:46They're known in heaven.
- 45:48OK.
- 45:49And and we're known in heaven.
- 45:51But it wasn't enough just for Christie and I to be on the couch sitting there wiped out.
- 45:56So we called our friends and they prayed, prayed with us.
- 45:59We also have a prayer team that prays with us.
- 46:01That's been with us for 14 years.
- 46:03Intercessors.
- 46:04We have intercessors in House of David that are very seasoned.
- 46:09So so I didn't put it out like on social media, like, OK, we took a hit.
- 46:14We're sick, you know, because that's just fueling the enemies.
- 46:18We're past it now.
- 46:19That's why I'm even discussing it.
- 46:21But what happens is we already had those people in place before we prayed and before we went.
- 46:27But we also knew, Darrell, when we went that it's really kind of unreasonable to think
- 46:31you're going to go into that level of demonic activity without taking some hits.
- 46:37And I mean, that's like to me, maybe.
- 46:40But like, you know what?
- 46:41We're just people.
- 46:42We're not superheroes.
- 46:45I think that's a really good point.
- 46:46Well, Rabbi, I think it's going to wrap up this episode for questions.
- 46:51I mean, obviously, it's it's the first Curt Landry podcast.
- 46:55It's a show that I've been trying to get you to do since I got here almost two years ago.
- 47:01Do you feel like this type of format is is good to kind of open up conversation like
- 47:07this?
- 47:08It's good for me.
- 47:09My question is for the audiences, if it's good for them.
- 47:15I know I get a lot of requests from people and I understand it.
- 47:21And they just said, oh, I just if I could just talk to you, you know, for 10 minutes
- 47:25or whatever.
- 47:27And and and I really don't think people.
- 47:32I don't think people understand because of the international nature of what we do, that
- 47:39we seriously we work from about eight in the morning till midnight, one, two in the morning,
- 47:46because if I'm going to work with Israel, it's from 12 to three in the morning.
- 47:51And so I don't think people realize that there's very few.
- 47:57They don't understand, like, the amount of hours.
- 48:01So I really don't have time to, like, sit down with somebody and just hang out and visit.
- 48:08And that's what I like about this is that that's what we're doing.
- 48:11We're hanging out and visiting and being pretty transparent and personal.
- 48:15I have no trouble with that.
- 48:17I want I would you know, I want people to learn from our mistakes so that our ceiling
- 48:22becomes their floor, but also our victories.
- 48:24They can learn from that and not have to reinvent the wheel.
- 48:27So I like the format, but I'd like to hear from the people if they like it.
- 48:30I mean, it's up to you know, this is easy for me because there's no preparation.
- 48:36I mean, this is this is like who we are.
- 48:41This is what we do.
- 48:43We're a work in progress.
- 48:46And we have a saying in our house, people say, oh, it's not theologically correct.
- 48:53And I don't know if it is or not, but people I always say higher levels, higher devils.
- 49:01And what happens is it's higher levels of responsibility brings a higher attack, a higher
- 49:07level of principality.
- 49:08Now, I don't know if that's scriptural or not, but I can tell you with 34 years of doing
- 49:13this, that's how it works.
- 49:15So whether anybody some theologian says, well, that's not correct.
- 49:21If you lived my life, you would know that if you're going into a nation and you're
- 49:29meeting with the minister of defense and the prime minister and the tops and you have the
- 49:34honor to speak into their life, the attack on the enemy is a lot more than you going
- 49:39in and speaking in church because what you're doing is going to shift that nation and it's
- 49:45going to start fulfilling and activating Bible prophecy.
- 49:49So there's just a different level of responsibility.
- 49:53So anyway, I understand that and where we come from is we have no intention of quitting.
- 49:59We've had a CLM board meeting here last week and there was kind of a slow down plan that
- 50:07everybody had at this age.
- 50:10And I told them, I said, now you realize after this trip, we're burning the slow down plan.
- 50:16And because the experience that we have and the testimony and the favor we have to get
- 50:23with people, I can't like delegate that out.
- 50:28I mean, the people I meet with meet with me in Israel because they've met with me for
- 50:3420 years and there's trust.
- 50:37And so, you know, and Israel needs us right now and the Lord needs us.
- 50:41So I guess we're not slowing down.
- 50:44Well, that's going to wrap it up for this.
- 50:47We actually do have an email set up.
- 50:49It's podcast at Curt Landry dot com.
- 50:51You can send your questions, your thoughts, show topic ideas, anything that you'd love
- 50:59for us to really dive deeper into it.
- 51:02You can give us suggestions.
- 51:03We'd love to hear your feedback.
- 51:05Again, that's podcast at Curt Landry dot com.
- 51:09You can send those questions.
- 51:11Rabbi, until next time.
- 51:12Yep, thank you so much, Shalom.
