- 1:12See. Hello, everybody.
- 1:20Sorry for technical difficulties.
- 1:23Welcome to Underground Studio. I'm trucker Mouth and we're back
- 1:28on the road. OK, So what we've got here is
- 1:34we've got to figure out this camera first before we get
- 1:37moving, before we get going down the road here.
- 1:48Yeah. So all right, so again, I'm
- 1:53talking about this is the Back on the Road show.
- 1:56And you know, this week right here, I'm going to do some.
- 2:01We'll talk about cross-border trucking, OK. cross-border
- 2:06trucking is a big part of our economy.
- 2:14Lot of our, lot of our economy comes from imports, other
- 2:23countries exported into our country.
- 2:25We're importing it in and it's and it's, it's, it's a big, it's
- 2:33a big issue. You know, cross-border trucking
- 2:37with all the, you know, the immigration and, and, and
- 2:40everything like that. It it's, it's, they're really
- 2:45tightened up on things. But just to give you an idea of
- 2:49what what all goes on on on cross-border trucking we'll get
- 2:55going here. So cross-border truck and
- 2:58freight continues to grow. In May, United States, Mexico
- 3:02Canadian agreement, which is USMCA, United States Mexico
- 3:06Canadian agreement negotiated new tariffs and should change
- 3:11the trajectory trajectory of of the way things are brought into
- 3:20the country. Last October, cross-border
- 3:28trucking has seen the year to year growth, especially on the
- 3:32southern border, especially on the southern border here.
- 3:35Now I wonder how I can make that screen bigger.
- 3:43I'm not Yeah, any who I'm on here anyway we're we're
- 3:52reporting. So yeah, it's it's a big thing.
- 3:55You know, we get a lot of things, you know, through our
- 3:57borders that we don't make here and because there God knows
- 4:03nothing from the United States anymore.
- 4:05A lot of things aren't anyway. So it's it's it's Trump, Donald
- 4:12Trump, President Donald Trump has proposed these tariffs on
- 4:18certain on certain products coming into the country.
- 4:24Now there we got that there. OK.
- 4:28So the the cross-border trucking has seen a double digit percent
- 4:34increase from April and May this year and but losses from
- 4:42sweeping tariffs the year before, it contributed to that
- 4:44number. So to that year, year before
- 4:48last was real bad. And that's making last year and
- 4:50this year real good look a lot better, but from losses and what
- 4:56looks so good. But most, most of the growth is
- 4:59coming from the southern border, OK, Most of it's coming through
- 5:03the southern border from February 2025 to May of 2025,
- 5:09coming across the northern border from Canada has dropped,
- 5:13cross-border trucking has dropped and there's been a mass,
- 5:18a massive growth coming from the southern border up from Mexico
- 5:24because of computer related exports.
- 5:28OK, so we've got computer, computer products are coming up
- 5:31from or coming up through South America, through Mexico and our
- 5:36country and got, you know, that's no, no wonder as as many,
- 5:40you know, everybody got a computer nowadays.
- 5:43So everybody got a computer nowadays.
- 5:48So we need them, we need them export.
- 5:50We need to have stuff coming in the country like that.
- 5:53We need that. And sorry about moving things
- 5:57around here, man, but I and yeah, I'm sorry, I'm tongue tied
- 6:07here. Yeah, just like I said, a lot of
- 6:10the big influx coming up through South America, through Mexico is
- 6:13computer rate items. So and then in the Canadian
- 6:18border has grown cross-border Turkey has grown in two
- 6:23consecutive months up from the on the southern border end,
- 6:29they're seeing the growth too. On February 20th, President
- 6:33Donald Trump OK, announced new set of tariffs on certain
- 6:37Canadian products, including dairy, alcohol and motor
- 6:41vehicles. So y'all, y'all people that,
- 6:44that, that drink the Canadian club and other liquors made-up
- 6:51in Canada. You're probably going to pay
- 6:52more. That's Trump's, you know, dairy.
- 6:58I guess we get a lot of dairy from up there and, and motor
- 7:00vehicles. So that's just some of the
- 7:05products he wants to put A and Trump's using Section 338
- 7:11against so to allow tariffs on countries that discriminate
- 7:18against US commerce. OK, So he's going to use a
- 7:23section 338 on, on countries that discriminate against our,
- 7:28our commerce, which include China, which we know what
- 7:33happened is India, Japan, Vietnam, Mexican, Canada, just
- 7:37to name a few. Canada discriminates against our
- 7:42against our commerce. I don't understand that Section
- 7:48338 has never been used. So Trump pulled this out of the
- 7:53air. He's going to use the Section 38
- 7:56to invoke these these tariffs. And Canadian Prime Minister Mark
- 8:05Carney said the tariffs on on automotive vehicles, motor
- 8:09vehicles violates the USMCA, which is United States Mexican
- 8:14Canada agreement. So the Prime Minister is saying
- 8:20that violates the United States Mexican Canadian Agreement and
- 8:24he ain't going for it. And then he wrote and then he
- 8:28wrote this big statement. OK, I've seen the statement on
- 8:31online, I couldn't blow it up to read it all.
- 8:34But here is this big statement. We can't have these tariffs on
- 8:37there. We got to do something.
- 8:41We have to do something to offset the cost of the border.
- 8:46It's OK, $30 billion a year to to maintain the border.
- 8:53That's that's, that's the Border Patrol, the people work at the
- 8:56border. Everything that goes in with
- 8:59immigration, that 30 billion a year, $30 billion a year.
- 9:06So that that is a I ain't know the word for that number,
- 9:13massive, huge, mind blowing number, $30 million a year for
- 9:19that fucking board. Excuse me, language for that
- 9:21border down there. And it's a shame.
- 9:23So we got to spend that much money, you know, that much money
- 9:30because trying to fight off and keep and keep our, our, our way
- 9:36of life as it is. And there's got to be something
- 9:42to offset that. And also it costs hundreds of
- 9:47millions a year to the main, the maintenance on the walls.
- 9:52I guess that's the wall itself, I guess, I guess the grounds
- 9:56around the, the fence. And you know, that United
- 10:01States, Canadian border is the, is the, is the biggest, it's the
- 10:06longest border in the world. And we got to maintain that.
- 10:12And you know, hundreds, hundreds of $1,000,000 for that.
- 10:15So, you know, something's got to be done.
- 10:20I mean that that 30 billion years for Border Patrol,
- 10:23security, immigration and then these truck and then these
- 10:27trucks that come through are running on our roads.
- 10:30You know, they're damaging our roads and the roads mean
- 10:33maintenance. Man hours of billions are just
- 10:40just to do the maintenance. Mexico and Canada have tariffs
- 10:46on some US goods in addition to 50% in addition to a 50%
- 10:51Canadian tariffs. U.S.
- 10:53Trade Representative Jameson Greer, this is my notes here.
- 10:58Announced 10% or total 10% tariffs or 6060 countries,
- 11:02including 99.4% of US imports, Includes Canada, China and
- 11:08Mexico. Effective July 24th using
- 11:11section 122. That's only good for hard 50
- 11:16days supposedly. They got so many sections, so
- 11:22many, so many different proposals and laws.
- 11:25It's it's crazy. Oh my God, you know why?
- 11:32Why can't? So if they do these tariffs,
- 11:34what what is it? They do it?
- 11:38How they how do they pay by by the truckload?
- 11:41I don't know how I'm probably act like I'm young.
- 11:44I don't know how them tariffs are enacted.
- 11:45They they pay by the truckload. Maybe should they just maybe
- 11:52they should just do, maybe they should just do a like a toll.
- 12:00You know, there's 18 to 22,000 commercial vehicles a day
- 12:06approximately coming over our borders, 18 to 22,000 a day,
- 12:13just say 20,000. So if you have you impose a fee
- 12:16on on the commercial vehicle going over like the like the
- 12:19bridges do you, you, you charge it maybe going over and and then
- 12:23they go back for free or something.
- 12:25You don't have to get them both ways, but you know, so there's
- 12:2920,000 a day times whatever amount of money you want to put
- 12:34on there, you know, $20.00 because I don't think there's, I
- 12:39don't think there's a, a toll on the borders if I'm correct.
- 12:43I don't never pretty sure ran a toll on the borders, but maybe
- 12:46they should just have that where where depending on what
- 12:49commercial vehicle you have to have here it is the bigger
- 12:52that's much more that's the toll you pay.
- 12:54We have to do something to offset this that $30 billion a
- 12:57year can be put in our economy to help homeless people.
- 13:00Will, you know, help help, you know, put that back into the
- 13:02military something It's it's crazy number.
- 13:06Oh boy. So use the Section 3 O1 now
- 13:11here's now here's section 3O1 tariffs on imported goods
- 13:15produced by foreign labour. Oh yeah.
- 13:17I like guessing this section three O 1 is going to impose
- 13:21tariffs on countries that their goods are produced by forced
- 13:27labor. That's child labor and all that.
- 13:30Yeah, I I like that the Liberty Justice Center challenge
- 13:36administration i.e. EPA tariffs filed lawsuit now I
- 13:42ain't what the I what the IE is international X4.
- 13:45I don't know whatever a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me, but yeah,
- 13:49they're the section three O 1 is is going to be put on tariffs
- 13:52for countries that have forced labor like child labor.
- 13:54I like that Hell yeah. Long term future of a
- 13:58cross-border trucking could be shaped by the United States
- 14:00Mexican Canadian agreement and you know that's a big agreement
- 14:05between between the countries there, man.
- 14:12That's a big agreement there. And yeah, so stock 20396 Mexican
- 14:2496 Mexico met for the third round of talks.
- 14:27The 4th was scheduled for September, so we'll come up on
- 14:30our fourth round talks with Mexico.
- 14:35No formal trades or negotiations have been scheduled with Canada
- 14:40because, you know, like I said, there's a big, big influx coming
- 14:43up through the southern border there man.
- 14:45And, you know, we've got to have a agreement because no form
- 14:51agreements between the three countries.
- 14:53They extended the United States met Canadian agreement terms to
- 14:57conducted annual reviews until approval or agreement expires in
- 15:012036. So United States met Canadian
- 15:04agreement expires in 2036. Boy, yeah, it's, it's got to do
- 15:12something offset that, that that horrific, you know, number there
- 15:15that 30 billion. And I just wish we could find a
- 15:20way like I said, make a toll or have a toll on them or something
- 15:23like that. I don't know how they how they
- 15:26do the tariffs. Is it by truckload or what?
- 15:28Well, then again, you got you got the cargo ships coming in.
- 15:33Yeah, I'm not sure how they invoke them tariffs.
- 15:37Oh heck. So OK, so it's about all we got
- 15:42from the the cross-border trucking.
- 15:47I just wanted to, you know, put a spotlight on all that goes on
- 15:50there, man. And then and the money that's
- 15:51that's that's spent each year for that quarter, that's
- 15:59astounding numbers. OK.
- 16:02So we're going to go take a what happened here.
- 16:22I got it. I don't have my, I don't have my
- 16:44my. There we go, my commercials.
- 16:47All right, so we're going to go with listen here.
- 20:42Hi, I'm beaker with military broadcast radio TV.
- 20:46We're your virtual MWR bringing veterans.
- 20:49The station where our veterans voices are heard.
- 20:53MBR talk. Hey, thanks for supporting our
- 20:56channel by watching and listening.
- 20:58Find us on the. Web at MB Radio.
- 21:00Dot. Oh, OK, here we go.
- 21:05All right, so we're back, I'm trucking them out.
- 21:10We're back on the road here and yeah, that's all.
- 21:21Well, I'm, I'm troubled here with my stuff.
- 21:28OK, so now we're going to talk about right now I caught my eye,
- 21:36I was going to go into broker, broker transparency and broker
- 21:39reliability, but I changed up and I'm going to talk about, and
- 21:48this is something that I highlighted on me for when I was
- 21:50podcasting last year. Is, is, is they're trying to
- 21:55they want to recruit more veterans EOEAOS now the
- 22:02military, which is end of obligated service and to go into
- 22:09truck driving to get out of the military.
- 22:11They want they want they want them to go into truck driving
- 22:13and they come out with it. And then and and that's nothing
- 22:16new for for the government to try to recruit people and the
- 22:22truck and coming out of the military, but they really ramped
- 22:24it up here in response to them. 20,000 non domicile CDLS that
- 22:29are going to be yanked off though, they're going to yank
- 22:32them. They're yanking them.
- 22:33They're they're revoking them 200,000 So that's going to put a
- 22:39crunch on on the truck in there when they they revoke all these
- 22:42non domicile CDLS from these people was not supposed to have
- 22:45them anyway. Well, I don't know how they got
- 22:46them, but one how they got them, but all of them didn't get them
- 22:50the legal way. I there's no way because they're
- 22:54they're getting illegal veteran illegal all the time.
- 22:56They can't, they can't, they can't read the signs.
- 22:59They can't talk. They can't, they can't read no,
- 23:06so can't read code Rd. signs. They're out there killing people
- 23:10and they're getting their racks in there.
- 23:12Just this road. There was 1 here like I said in
- 23:14Pennsylvania here not far from where I'm from a couple weeks
- 23:18ago. And officer Parrish was 20 year
- 23:20veteran of the Pennsylvania State Police was he was a truck
- 23:25pulled over pulled over doing ADOT inspection on it.
- 23:29And this, this, this, this guy with a non domiciled CDL came
- 23:33down and he ran and he hit the truck and because the truck was
- 23:37alongside the road getting a suspension and killed the state
- 23:41tripper. And it was 20 year veteran of
- 23:45the Pennsylvania State Police. So they're they're yanking
- 23:48200,000 non domiciled CDLS and that's going to be 200.
- 23:52And most of them if they're non domiciled, most of them are
- 23:55probably Rd. jobs. So that's going to hurt.
- 23:57You got to have freight out there running around because
- 24:00that's going to hurt the economy bad.
- 24:02So they're really ramping this up and they got a program, it's
- 24:06called Freedom Haulers and it's a patriotic hiring campaign in
- 24:12response to the nearly $200,000 out CD OS that are being
- 24:15revoked. And, and truck, truck drivers,
- 24:20you know what I mean? If they're after non domicilers,
- 24:22emotions are probably Rd. jobs. So we've got to fill in
- 24:26positions. And I'm a veteran, I'm a truck
- 24:30around, I'm a veteran, but I don't want my ass.
- 24:33They, they yanked my stuff. They yanked my CDO eight years
- 24:37ago now. And the traffic stops.
- 24:43Nobody gave me a pathway nowhere.
- 24:45Anyway, I done crying about it. I moved on.
- 24:47But showing, showing Duffy, the transportation secretary, I
- 24:52guess he was really pushing this and he needs to because he, he,
- 24:58he ain't, he ain't on the ball with this.
- 25:00He should never left. He should never left the damn
- 25:05the program for the non domiciled CDLS.
- 25:07That's how they were filling seats.
- 25:10They they were filling seats that way just to get trucks on
- 25:13the road to bring in illegal immigrants in and put them in,
- 25:16in, in these, in these, in these trucks, not in this program.
- 25:21I don't know whoever came up with that, but probably him.
- 25:25So you have an express lane for veterans to become truck
- 25:29drivers. And if if you operated a heavy,
- 25:33heavy truck in the military, you're automatically eligible
- 25:37for this program. And they have a freedom of
- 25:40horrors website. And it actually just had a major
- 25:45announcement yesterday about this program.
- 25:49And I don't know what it what what it was.
- 25:51It's supposed to have been on the 27th and it changed it to
- 25:53the 30th. I don't know what what they come
- 25:55out with. But so basically what what the
- 25:59program is, is veterans who drove a heavy truck in the
- 26:03military, like I said, are automatically eligible for the
- 26:06program and they have what they call the Military Skills Test
- 26:13Waiver program. So if you have at least two
- 26:16years, at least two years of experience safely operating a
- 26:20heavy military vehicle without taking, you can get your CDL
- 26:26without taking the driver's test.
- 26:29Now, I had a similar situation. I had a Class B license for four
- 26:35or five. Let me see 9494 years, four
- 26:40years before I got my Class A, so I already knew how to deal
- 26:44with the weights. I drove mixer and and building
- 26:46materials, trucks and stuff. I got there.
- 26:48I already knew of how to deal weights.
- 26:49I already knew how to do the heating 410 feet.
- 26:52All that. What I didn't do with was
- 26:55combination was the packing. And now I understand if you're
- 27:00going to get a Class B license, I understand them saying, OK,
- 27:05well, if you drove this truck and military for two years, you
- 27:07know, we don't really need to do the skills test for you.
- 27:10But if you just drove a, a, a heavy vehicle in the military
- 27:14and it was a combination, you got to you got to show them you
- 27:18can, you can drive. I don't think they should waiver
- 27:22that. If you didn't drive a
- 27:25combination vehicle in the military, a heavy combination
- 27:30vehicle and you want your Class A, you should have to take the
- 27:34driver's test and, and, and you know, display display you can
- 27:39operate safely. And that's just my opinion.
- 27:46Because what they did up there is that one, I, I went to a
- 27:49truck driving school and he, and he and the guy told me, he said
- 27:53one of one of the instructors up there at the school, he said,
- 27:56why don't you swap test out? You already do everything but
- 27:59the back end. You're you're good.
- 28:00You can drive good. I was like, I know you could do
- 28:02that. He said, yeah, you come up, you
- 28:03come up, you get your permit and all and you just test out.
- 28:08You don't have to go through the program and it cost you a lot
- 28:11less money. I didn't know that.
- 28:12I didn't know that about this. I paid for a whole fucking
- 28:14freaking program again. So yeah.
- 28:18And I was doing fine with my class.
- 28:20BI told some asshole talking me into going getting my Class A
- 28:23and we're going to go teams. So I went through a a
- 28:27separation. We're going to go teams and and
- 28:29in the meantime, he got a DUR and I was thinking about myself
- 28:32anyway. So and there's 40,040 thousand
- 28:39people actually in the military have already taken advantage of
- 28:41the program. But just just me.
- 28:45I mean, I'm thinking if you didn't, if you again, if you
- 28:48didn't operate a combination, a heavy combination vehicle in the
- 28:52military, you should have to take the skills test and
- 28:55demonstrate you can operate the vehicle in a safe manner.
- 29:01Because a combination vehicle, tractor trailers, a whole
- 29:04different monster than than driving a straight mixer or
- 29:06something. Yeah, you got the weights and
- 29:08all, but the you got the backs out.
- 29:09So you got to watch it. And then backing or even
- 29:12turning, even turning, hell, even going down the road
- 29:15straight sometimes it's a challenge and a tractor trailer.
- 29:20But yeah, it's, it's just they're really pushing.
- 29:23They're really pushing that for people actually in the military
- 29:28who drove and they have a a website that you can go to
- 29:38Freedom Haulers website. I guess it's WW freedom
- 29:42haulers.com or something. So yeah, they they without
- 29:49taking the driver's. That's that's amazing.
- 29:51Like I said, if you drove, if you just drove a deuce and 1/2
- 29:55or something and you're going to get your Class B, that's a
- 29:57single truck, not combination. Yeah, I can understand that.
- 30:01But if you didn't drive combination in the military, you
- 30:04should have to take the skills test and demonstrate you can.
- 30:09You've been driving a 70 foot, 80,000 LB vehicle.
- 30:17Oh, it's been a rough 1 today. So, OK, everybody, we're at the
- 30:22end of the road. OK, Thanks for coming along.
- 30:26Which rocker bell? See you next time.
- 30:29I'll pick you up back on the road.
- 30:32Which rocker bell? Wait a minute here.
- 30:44We ain't going yet Outro. OK, let's let's not going here.
- 30:58Not sure we're going to stream.
- 31:20See you later. Why ain't that play?
- 31:27Why ain't that answer play? Yeah, no and stream.
- 31:40We're done. No.
- 31:45So I'm still on here, play outro and then St.
