- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, Megan here wanted to let you know that
- 0:02Speaker 1: at the very beginning of this episode, my audio is
- 0:04Speaker 1: a little weird, but it corrects itself what about seventy
- 0:07Speaker 1: seconds into this episode, So it's not your device, it's
- 0:11Speaker 1: us sit tight and it improves.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark. I'm Megan, and
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm a lifelong Homewark movie fan, and I'm windy, and
- 0:34Speaker 2: there is one small part of me that is kind
- 0:37Speaker 2: of sad that Countdown and Christmas is coming to an end.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Just a small part though. Today we are discussing a
- 0:42Speaker 2: Christmas class reunion part of Hallmarks Countdown to Christmas lineup
- 0:46Speaker 2: for twenty twenty two. And before we get into our
- 0:50Speaker 2: thoughts and opinions on this ensemble cast, let's do a
- 0:55Speaker 2: couple of Homemark Okay, do you have an apology? Oh?
- 0:59Speaker 2: I do, Thank you for reminding me. I was listening
- 1:02Speaker 2: back to last week's episode, which I typically do, and
- 1:07Speaker 2: my laugh was like off the charts, Like I just
- 1:09Speaker 2: want to apologize for for just it was so annoying.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I was like laughing at my own jokes and just
- 1:16Speaker 2: was loud and like, so I just feel terrible, like
- 1:20Speaker 2: they're like, uh, this girl in her stupid laugh. I
- 1:24Speaker 2: don't think you should apologize. Okay, quick, Girl's Gone Hallmark programming.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Note before we move on, we've got some big plans
- 1:30Speaker 2: for the new year, and things are going to be
- 1:33Speaker 2: you shuffled around, and we don't want you to miss anything, right,
- 1:36Speaker 2: So Girl's Gone Homework isn't going anywhere. We will still
- 1:39Speaker 2: be reviewing Hallmark Original movies, but you can look for
- 1:43Speaker 2: those on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays, and then while The
- 1:50Speaker 2: Way Home is airing, you can find our reviews of
- 1:53Speaker 2: those episodes on Wednesdays. That's right. I have a question
- 1:56Speaker 2: for you. Okay, have you seen the promos for The
- 2:01Speaker 2: Way Home only one? Well, it says that the bottom
- 2:04Speaker 2: authentically Hallmark original series. What do you think that means authentically?
- 2:13Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know either. You might be reading
- 2:16Speaker 2: too much into it. Maybe just like it's theirs and
- 2:18Speaker 2: they didn't acquire it, like it was slowly produced in house.
- 2:21Speaker 2: That's what I'm reading into it. But it just it's
- 2:24Speaker 2: weird instead of like a Hallmark original series or like
- 2:28Speaker 2: why authentically you know who? If anybody would know who
- 2:32Speaker 2: would know the answer to that question? Tell me our
- 2:33Speaker 2: Facebook group. They know everything. Okay, I'll ask him take
- 2:37Speaker 2: it to the people. Okay. Our Facebook group has really
- 2:40Speaker 2: been coming through for us. Every time we ask a question,
- 2:42Speaker 2: they've got great feedback. You should join that group. There
- 2:46Speaker 2: was some great talk about this weekend's movies in the
- 2:49Speaker 2: group already before we could even start it. So we
- 2:53Speaker 2: are Girls Gone Hallmark on Facebook and Instagram. You can
- 2:57Speaker 2: follow Wendy's lovely Hallmark coverage at girls gott Hallmark. We
- 3:02Speaker 2: also have an Instagram and TikTok account which is at
- 3:05Speaker 2: Megan and Wendy, which is life in general. One last
- 3:10Speaker 2: Hallmark news and note we've been preaching the Gospel of
- 3:14Speaker 2: Peacock as a great place to watch movies immediately after
- 3:16Speaker 2: they've been released because they frontload all of the advertisements.
- 3:20Speaker 2: They threw me a curveball. Tell me I want to
- 3:22Speaker 2: watch Christmas Class Reunion. It had midroll ads throughout multiple
- 3:26Speaker 2: commercial breaks. Okay, so we discussed this in the Facebook group.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Group member Michael mentioned that this weekend. But that really
- 3:39Speaker 2: bumps me out because that's like the one thing I
- 3:43Speaker 2: like about for sure, to watch it uninterrupted. Yes, however,
- 3:47Speaker 2: I feel like I watched this movie uninterrupted on Peacock. Well,
- 3:53Speaker 2: I don't feel like there's any continuity because this morning
- 3:56Speaker 2: I watched the holiday set are completely uninterrupted, So it's
- 3:58Speaker 2: not like it's a guarantee thing. But I did have
- 4:01Speaker 2: midrol ads throughout Christmas class reunion, just saying something to
- 4:05Speaker 2: be aware of. Also, is Peacock continuing their partnership with
- 4:11Speaker 2: Hallmark posts countdown to Christmas? So no number second, it
- 4:15Speaker 2: says entered into an agreement with Hallmark Media to stream
- 4:18Speaker 2: stream live and on demand programming from Hallmark Channel, Hallmark
- 4:21Speaker 2: Movies and Mysteries and Hallmark Drama. It doesn't give an
- 4:25Speaker 2: end date. Well, well was that wendsay? Let's do a
- 4:29Speaker 2: synopsis of Christmas class reunion? Sure thing. Valedictorian l is
- 4:33Speaker 2: determined to host a perfect fifteen year high school reunion.
- 4:37Speaker 2: She's looking forward to seeing her high school crush cam,
- 4:41Speaker 2: but she finds unexpected support in bad Boy Devin Sorrying,
- 4:45Speaker 2: Amy T. Garden, and Tanner Novelyn. I think you're making
- 4:49Speaker 2: it harder. That needs to be noveln noveln Yeah, I
- 4:52Speaker 2: questioned before we move ahead, did you go to your
- 4:55Speaker 2: high school reunion? None of them? Did you? Not one
- 4:58Speaker 2: single one, and I twenty five years out from my
- 5:04Speaker 2: high school graduation as of twenty five and a half. Wow,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I'm more than that, but still, but they're holy hell,
- 5:12Speaker 2: it will be thirty years this year next year. And
- 5:16Speaker 2: much like Tanner, no that's not his name in this movie,
- 5:20Speaker 2: Devin Devin, I was like, yeah, I can see anybody
- 5:23Speaker 2: I want to see online. Yeah, I need to go
- 5:25Speaker 2: to some get together, which is like the least favorite
- 5:29Speaker 2: thing I like to do, make small talk all night long.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Terrible Christmas Class Reunion was filmed in late September and
- 5:34Speaker 2: early October in Vancouver, a British Columbia. Check Yeah. Written
- 5:38Speaker 2: by Aaron Rodman. She has seven writing credits, including The
- 5:42Speaker 2: Christmas House and its sequel. Those are two Megan's top movies.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I was So Fun. Some others included Nantucket Noel and
- 5:53Speaker 2: Advice to Love of Bye. I can't remember reviewing Nantucket
- 5:57Speaker 2: no While you said we did, I know we did
- 5:59Speaker 2: advice to b to? Did we do advice to Love By?
- 6:04Speaker 2: I will leave links to our reviews and the show notes.
- 6:07Speaker 2: This was directed by Jonathan Rosenbaum, who has a ton
- 6:09Speaker 2: of Disney and Nickelodeon directing credits to his name, but
- 6:13Speaker 2: he also directed four episodes of Date My Dad, Longtime
- 6:17Speaker 2: Girl's Gone. Hallmark listeners will know the Weddy and I
- 6:21Speaker 2: have a connection to that show and it just keeps resurfacing.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It was a Date my Dad Weekend. It really was.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It really was. Tanner Novelle. Yeah, plays Devin. He's a
- 6:34Speaker 2: Hallmark newbie since twenty twenty. He has starred in this
- 6:39Speaker 2: daytime soap, The Bold and the Beautiful two hundred and
- 6:42Speaker 2: eighty eight episode Quite It. Yeah, it's a lot. He
- 6:45Speaker 2: was also in one episode of Letter Kenny, which is
- 6:47Speaker 2: the show Tyler Hines has also guested on. Yes Is
- 6:51Speaker 2: he guests on that show. So I don't know, I
- 6:53Speaker 2: just made that language up. He's appeared on that show
- 6:55Speaker 2: and he plays a much grittier character than the Tyler
- 6:57Speaker 2: Hines of Hallmark. Now, Letter Kenny is a Canadian show.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I don't think we can get it here. Letter Kenny.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Watched Letter Kenny on Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV. Drama
- 7:09Speaker 2: or a comedy? Is Letter Kenny a drama? I think
- 7:15Speaker 2: it's a comedy. At Canadian television, sitcom oh started in
- 7:20Speaker 2: twenty sixteen. I wanted to add I do think Tanner
- 7:23Speaker 2: novelin is real nice to look at QQT co signed. Okay,
- 7:29Speaker 2: bring him back, Bring him back, y'all. This was based
- 7:32Speaker 2: on the book by the same name, written by Paul Wooten.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I actually think he co wrote this with his wife,
- 7:40Speaker 2: Robin Wooten. Oh. I wonder if it's based off a
- 7:43Speaker 2: true story. It all began when the Wooton's to return
- 7:46Speaker 2: to Dorchester. Do well, I'm pretty sure it's not Dorchester
- 7:49Speaker 2: County Propaul's fortieth North Dorchester High School reunion and much
- 7:55Speaker 2: more than a trip down memory lane. The experience let
- 7:57Speaker 2: a creative sparked within the retired ed turned writer. Do
- 8:01Speaker 2: you think it's a reach to write a movie about
- 8:06Speaker 2: a high school reunion? Not really right? No, But I
- 8:11Speaker 2: don't understand the question. But I feel like he was
- 8:14Speaker 2: inspired by his own high school reunion to write a
- 8:17Speaker 2: movie about a high school he was in the jourman.
- 8:19Speaker 2: He's like, there are so many stories here, and he
- 8:21Speaker 2: decided to become a writer and write this. I think
- 8:24Speaker 2: most people are inspired by things that happen in their lives,
- 8:26Speaker 2: of course, and most books are at their heart about
- 8:29Speaker 2: pretty mundane things. Okay, I have one more News and
- 8:37Speaker 2: notes Yasmine Kelder's play Skuyler. I thought she was cute
- 8:41Speaker 2: and not annoying, because if you are a longtime listener,
- 8:44Speaker 2: you know that I don't like kids in these movies.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Let he hates kids. I have one of my own.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I don't hate kids. I thought she was cute though,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and she was also in this Year's a Second Chance
- 8:56Speaker 2: at Love. Huh, no memory, you guys. We're at the
- 9:01Speaker 2: end of the year. All the movies are bleaning in together.
- 9:04Speaker 2: They all have same similar names. I don't remember Second
- 9:07Speaker 2: Chance that Love, Eric Lassal and Gloria. Really ya see
- 9:12Speaker 2: I told you, oh I like that movie. I did
- 9:14Speaker 2: like that movie. I thought she was cute. And then
- 9:16Speaker 2: there was one point and I'm just gonna drop it
- 9:18Speaker 2: here and not in the digit see that, because it's
- 9:20Speaker 2: not that big of a mention. But you know, she
- 9:22Speaker 2: was like a coder girl, and she had her laptop.
- 9:25Speaker 2: She had all the stickers on our laptop, which is
- 9:27Speaker 2: very every teenager right now has stickers on our laptops.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And it was like girls ru the World and coder
- 9:33Speaker 2: girl and this and that. I just thought it was cute,
- 9:35Speaker 2: real cute. Now, are you ready for first Impressions? Sure,
- 9:39Speaker 2: go ahead. I think this should have been a Friday
- 9:42Speaker 2: night movie at the beginning of the countdown to Christmas season. Sorry,
- 9:48Speaker 2: my first impression is pretty low sticks curses here, don't
- 9:51Speaker 2: you think like the advertises as the cursed Class. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, these people are gonna have like
- 9:57Speaker 2: survived a school shooting or something terribly That is not
- 10:01Speaker 2: I mean, that would make a very compelling story. Yes,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and you're right. I didn't actually expect to see that
- 10:08Speaker 2: on Hallmark, but I was expecting throughout the movie. I
- 10:13Speaker 2: was expecting bigger stakes. Ye make me care about these
- 10:18Speaker 2: people there. Curses were like cancelations and getting wet with
- 10:24Speaker 2: bubble soap. But I mean that's on her, not on
- 10:28Speaker 2: the class. Well, she didn't put that snow machine up there, Devin,
- 10:34Speaker 2: did I know that. But he was trying to do
- 10:36Speaker 2: something nice, I know, I know, right, It's not like
- 10:39Speaker 2: a carry situation or like a bullying situation where he
- 10:43Speaker 2: was trying to humiliate her, right. I just think that
- 10:47Speaker 2: this movie would have been so much more interesting if
- 10:50Speaker 2: it was something like that, like a horror movie. No, no,
- 10:53Speaker 2: I mean that would have been such a great twist,
- 10:56Speaker 2: like just her just going ape shit on the you know,
- 11:03Speaker 2: class valedictorian turned monster, I don't know whatever. Yeah, I
- 11:09Speaker 2: think it would have been better though, if it was like,
- 11:11Speaker 2: say they were let's just let's just roundtable this right now. Okay,
- 11:16Speaker 2: say these two didn't get along in high school, but
- 11:18Speaker 2: like he was like mean to her, Yeah, and like
- 11:21Speaker 2: spread to some like online Facebook rumors because two thousand
- 11:25Speaker 2: and seven that would have been where it was happening. Now. Yeah,
- 11:29Speaker 2: and then turns out he's like a nice guys in
- 11:32Speaker 2: I Hate Rachel Green Club. Yes, yes, exactly. Would have
- 11:37Speaker 2: been a compelling story. Well, did you like anything about
- 11:40Speaker 2: this movie? I did? Okay, a few things. I uh,
- 11:45Speaker 2: to me, the MVP storyline goes to Samantha. Yeah, it
- 11:49Speaker 2: was the newscaster and her stylist, James, and then the
- 11:53Speaker 2: triangle with the high school crush Bryce, who was into
- 11:57Speaker 2: James and not Samantha. Yeah. I really enjoyed that I
- 12:02Speaker 2: was invested in that story. Yeah, I wish that would
- 12:05Speaker 2: have been the movie we watched. Yep, yep. I liked
- 12:08Speaker 2: her glow up storylines, A real cute girl, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 2: a beautiful woman. I was like, we have we seen her?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Stephanie Bennett play Samantha. She's been in a lot of
- 12:21Speaker 2: TV movies. She was in The Nine Gittens of Christmas. Oh,
- 12:26Speaker 2: a lot of non Hallmark TV movies. M Hm, did
- 12:30Speaker 2: you like anything? I did? Okay, I liked so. I
- 12:33Speaker 2: thought this was a pretty solid cast. Overall. I liked
- 12:38Speaker 2: even though I don't think it was all fully realized.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I liked the different pockets like you. I liked Samantha's storyline.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I liked the high school sweethearts angle and where are
- 12:48Speaker 2: they now? I like the idea of what happens to
- 12:51Speaker 2: the valedictorian, who's this like super success driven type a personality.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Don't think most of those storylines went as far as
- 13:01Speaker 2: they could have, but I did like and the cast overall.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I liked them as a group. I liked Katie and Jay.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I liked Samantha. I thought Cam was the perfect like
- 13:12Speaker 2: kind of high school dude bro totally. Again, what I
- 13:15Speaker 2: think would have been better is if, like Samantha, who
- 13:18Speaker 2: was trying to get a national spot on a news network, right,
- 13:23Speaker 2: what if she broke the story about I was waiting
- 13:27Speaker 2: for something like that. Yeah, yeah, but you know it
- 13:32Speaker 2: was fine. I liked the decent length backstory we got
- 13:36Speaker 2: opening the movie and their prom you get to know
- 13:40Speaker 2: a little bit about each of these characters. You understand
- 13:42Speaker 2: their motivation for later in the movie. You understand why
- 13:46Speaker 2: Elle isn't the biggest fan of Devin. You understand these
- 13:50Speaker 2: high school sweethearts, and you're a little disappointed to see
- 13:52Speaker 2: that they're not super in love. Later on, you're excited
- 13:56Speaker 2: to see Samantha's glow up. I just I liked that,
- 14:00Speaker 2: and unlike a movie like camp Fire Christmas, where we
- 14:05Speaker 2: have the back and forth storyline was good and we
- 14:08Speaker 2: have different actors playing their younger selfs. I think in
- 14:12Speaker 2: this movie it made sense to have them playing theirselves
- 14:15Speaker 2: even though you're like, you're gonna have aged in fifteen years.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It's all right, it's okay. This is the only other
- 14:20Speaker 2: thing I liked, Okay. I like how they the whole
- 14:22Speaker 2: group activates to like make high school reunion party come together.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I always like that they kind of like, yeah, everybody,
- 14:30Speaker 2: hands on deck, we got to make this happen. Me too,
- 14:32Speaker 2: Me too. I liked the one year later update. I'm
- 14:34Speaker 2: a big Sapy SAP person, I will say I like
- 14:37Speaker 2: that as well. Katie and Jay having a baby, and
- 14:43Speaker 2: I knew as soon as he came, and he's like,
- 14:44Speaker 2: I landed a new clan and she's super demanding. I
- 14:47Speaker 2: was like, they're getting married. I didn't quite catch. I
- 14:51Speaker 2: was like, oh, what does she doing now that he's whatever?
- 14:54Speaker 2: Y's work related? I know, but then I wondered, did
- 14:57Speaker 2: we get a work related update about her? We didn't. Okay,
- 15:00Speaker 2: we'll talk about that in a minute. That's a wrap
- 15:02Speaker 2: on likes for me. Yeah, me too, all right, what'd
- 15:05Speaker 2: you wish for? I really want to know why can't
- 15:07Speaker 2: Amy taker I can get a good movie? Wait? She
- 15:10Speaker 2: was in last year's My Family Christmas Tree with Andrew
- 15:14Speaker 2: Walker Christmas Family Tree. I wrote, My Family Christmas Tree?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Is that what it's called? My Christmas Family Tree? Oh? God?
- 15:22Speaker 2: Is that title? Has thrown me all year long? Anyway?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Is it the actor or is it the movie? I
- 15:29Speaker 2: can't decide the age old question. I cannot decide. The
- 15:33Speaker 2: first movie I saw her in was A New Year's
- 15:36Speaker 2: Resolution or whatever it was back from twenty twenty one. Yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 2: and I hated that movie. Yeah, like I hated it,
- 15:42Speaker 2: And I was like, is it her? Like she's just
- 15:44Speaker 2: kind of flat? Oh? Okay, So I don't know but
- 15:49Speaker 2: I really liked her in last year's movie. So but
- 15:52Speaker 2: did that movie because it had Andrew Walker in it,
- 15:54Speaker 2: and I was like a little more excited about it,
- 15:56Speaker 2: and I had a cameo from Tyler Hines. You know
- 15:59Speaker 2: what I mean? Is this scenario to you? Okay, I
- 16:02Speaker 2: don't find her to be flat. However, My Christmas Family
- 16:05Speaker 2: Tree was a real angsty, emotional movie. She was looking
- 16:09Speaker 2: for her real father. It was you know, she wanted
- 16:13Speaker 2: to be accepted by this family. This movie is not that.
- 16:18Speaker 2: This movie she's supposed to be like kick ass executive. Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I don't buy that though, and I I don't think
- 16:27Speaker 2: she played it that way. She played it like the
- 16:30Speaker 2: angsty in her head and like you're CTO of some
- 16:34Speaker 2: big tech company given Ted talks all around the world,
- 16:37Speaker 2: but you're acting like super insecure. So you're saying like
- 16:41Speaker 2: if she was more of a boss bitch, yes, ex
- 16:45Speaker 2: give me that. I believe she has that in her,
- 16:47Speaker 2: but I didn't see it in this Yeah me, neither.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I wanted her to like woe is like, Eh, this
- 16:53Speaker 2: is high school crush. Yes, she's so sure of yourself,
- 16:58Speaker 2: you kick ass? Yeah, would think right right? Yeah, it's
- 17:02Speaker 2: missing the mark a little bit. I wish that Elle
- 17:05Speaker 2: had been visited by the FBI one hundred percent. If
- 17:09Speaker 2: she is the chief technical officer, she's part of the
- 17:11Speaker 2: c suite of this big Silicon Valley tech company. Yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 2: and the CEO is getting arrested, sheet is either also
- 17:19Speaker 2: getting arrested, but at a very minimum, she's getting the
- 17:22Speaker 2: visit and some questions, right, and she's not gonna have
- 17:25Speaker 2: time for all this high school reunion nonsense. I'd be like, Oh,
- 17:29Speaker 2: my company is getting rated by the FBI. Yeah, I'm out, guys,
- 17:33Speaker 2: by I have to go back to work. Yes, And
- 17:36Speaker 2: she would be like locking down our social media and
- 17:39Speaker 2: like going dark and hiding totally. I just read that
- 17:42Speaker 2: Bernie Madoff's daughter in law memoir and woof, y'all. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 2: especially because she gets real angsty about like my career
- 17:53Speaker 2: is over. But at no point does this touch her.
- 17:57Speaker 2: There's no indication other than this CEO of her company
- 18:00Speaker 2: getting arrested. There's no other indication that it is affecting
- 18:04Speaker 2: her in any way other than her company's going away. Right,
- 18:07Speaker 2: she's out of a job. Yeah, did you wish for
- 18:10Speaker 2: anything else? No? I mean I think we touched on it,
- 18:13Speaker 2: I wrote, didn't care about L's job, didn't care nice.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I'm I feel like I'm being like, entirely too harsh
- 18:22Speaker 2: on this movie because they were like, I mean, it
- 18:25Speaker 2: kept my interest. I agree, but I I just I
- 18:30Speaker 2: will never revisit this movie. That's what I'm saying. One
- 18:34Speaker 2: thing I really look for in a movie that I
- 18:37Speaker 2: enjoy is the movie is well paced. Gives it a
- 18:40Speaker 2: little bit of room for forgiveness, because some of these
- 18:43Speaker 2: movies are so slow and there's so much pause between
- 18:47Speaker 2: dialogue and not. I like, give me a wit, give
- 18:50Speaker 2: me the even if the story isn't carrying itself along.
- 18:52Speaker 2: And I think this movie was well paced and I
- 18:55Speaker 2: had a lot moving it forward. It just was like,
- 18:58Speaker 2: give me a little limit, make me care about you
- 19:02Speaker 2: people time for Did you see that? Yes, ma'am, I
- 19:06Speaker 2: have several. I have one. Okay, you go first, Okay,
- 19:11Speaker 2: we've got a cameo. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Chris McNally,
- 19:16Speaker 2: who's best known for his role and When Calls the Heart,
- 19:18Speaker 2: although he has played other Hallmark roles. He plays a
- 19:21Speaker 2: photographer dressed like an elf in this movie. Why do
- 19:23Speaker 2: you think? Do you think he just was in town?
- 19:26Speaker 2: I assumely didn't fly him in for this role yet.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Oh maybe he's cute, so cute yeah right, maybe he
- 19:33Speaker 2: just lives there, he looks he looks better out of
- 19:35Speaker 2: his hearties garb. Yeah, yeah, I know that show has
- 19:40Speaker 2: a real strong fan base. Not not gonna, but not
- 19:43Speaker 2: for us. It's not for me. Yeah, okay, I have
- 19:45Speaker 2: I have a couple. First of all, not one pop
- 19:48Speaker 2: song from two thousand and seven is come on, not
- 19:51Speaker 2: tm on. Actually even googled like pop songs from two
- 19:54Speaker 2: thousand and seven that they could have played in this movie.
- 19:56Speaker 2: There was like for Delicious, and I can't remember anything else. Sorry,
- 20:00Speaker 2: nothing's coming. They blew their budget on their ensemble cast totally,
- 20:04Speaker 2: but come on, at least during the like dance scene
- 20:07Speaker 2: at the end, give them something, yes that would have
- 20:11Speaker 2: like been from that Yes? Ugh, that was a real
- 20:15Speaker 2: fail to me. I thought that the the beginning scene
- 20:22Speaker 2: when they're were they're in the flashback and the boys
- 20:24Speaker 2: had the very like Justin Bieber type hair, like baby
- 20:29Speaker 2: swoop poop across the face, you know, But Justin Bieber
- 20:32Speaker 2: didn't hit big until after two thousand and seven, So
- 20:35Speaker 2: I think this is a little missile. Let me hit
- 20:37Speaker 2: you with a factoid. In two thousand and four to
- 20:41Speaker 2: two thousand and seven, I was a middle school teacher,
- 20:43Speaker 2: and in two thousand and four, thousand and five, I
- 20:45Speaker 2: had a student with really blonde hair, and he had
- 20:47Speaker 2: this forehead swoop and you can't see me right now,
- 20:49Speaker 2: but all day long he would be like very carefully
- 20:51Speaker 2: like smoothing that front swoop into place. So Justin Bieber
- 20:55Speaker 2: had the swoop, but trust that the swoop existed. Okay,
- 20:59Speaker 2: So don't you think that's like it tied to him? Though?
- 21:03Speaker 2: I do think so, Like it wasn't the Yes, he
- 21:07Speaker 2: definitely was not the original, all right, Megan with their
- 21:11Speaker 2: boots on the ground, I got you. And also in
- 21:16Speaker 2: the flashback, I elways had her long hair and bangs
- 21:19Speaker 2: and it was a real Julie Taylor moment, don't you Tottally?
- 21:23Speaker 2: It was a good wig. I wish they would have
- 21:25Speaker 2: made her blonde because then it would have been like,
- 21:26Speaker 2: I got a wink. Doesn't she look like Julie Taylor? Yeah? Yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 2: I don't particularly like her hairstyle. Maybe it looks kind
- 21:35Speaker 2: of like outdated to me. I'm gonna need to like
- 21:38Speaker 2: look at her Instagram. I think she's a little more edgy.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I find that Hallmark hairstylists, while they have gotten better,
- 21:47Speaker 2: if you go back and watch some older Hallmark movies,
- 21:50Speaker 2: I'm like, brush out your curl. I just like ring
- 21:54Speaker 2: run up through that, like they're very and I think
- 21:58Speaker 2: they've like loosened up a little bit in that regard,
- 22:01Speaker 2: like that's a little more like, oh totally, I'll put
- 22:04Speaker 2: that in our show notes. It's that picture's much better.
- 22:08Speaker 2: That's not her Instagram, but that's a photo of her.
- 22:11Speaker 2: That's what I think. She's super adorable, a real cute girl.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But I just they make her sort of like to
- 22:20Speaker 2: Reese Witherspoon in an election like two prime and proper. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 2: I hear you my file like kind of complaint. Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 2: A class reunion right before Christmas? Absolutely not right. Who
- 22:34Speaker 2: am I not going to that? That's sorry for that.
- 22:36Speaker 2: We scheduled at Christmas so they would all come. I'm
- 22:38Speaker 2: not coming. I don't care if it's across the street
- 22:40Speaker 2: from my parents' house. I am not coming. That was dumb, right, Yeah, nope,
- 22:44Speaker 2: not going, not at all. It did take them entirely
- 22:47Speaker 2: too long to decide on the high school as the
- 22:49Speaker 2: replacement location. Oh, I was like, for have it at
- 22:52Speaker 2: the high school. How's that not the first option you
- 22:56Speaker 2: call everybody else. Also, let's just be clear, nobody's putting
- 22:59Speaker 2: in weeks and weeks of prep. Nobody's flying home a
- 23:02Speaker 2: week early to prep for their class reunion. They're doing
- 23:05Speaker 2: it at the Sheraton with a two drink minimum, and
- 23:08Speaker 2: you pay, And they got the raton passed apps. If
- 23:11Speaker 2: you had a nicer class reunion than that, thank your
- 23:14Speaker 2: senior class president. Well that's the other thing.
- 23:17Speaker 3: That senior class president is not for you. They plan
- 23:21Speaker 3: the reunions, not my reunions. Oh, they must have a
- 23:24Speaker 3: reunion committee. They had two different reunion committees for ten
- 23:29Speaker 3: and twenty.
- 23:29Speaker 2: That is not unusual. However, a friend of mine was
- 23:32Speaker 2: senior class president. She was making that argument. I was like,
- 23:35Speaker 2: that is not true, but that, in my experience is
- 23:38Speaker 2: not true. Interesting. Yeah, all right, let's rate this movie.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Hey two stars? I gave it three? Oh my god,
- 23:46Speaker 2: what I thought? It was fine? I think in twenty
- 23:52Speaker 2: twenty we might have loved this. No way, dude, we
- 23:55Speaker 2: would have been like, wow, no, it's the twelve dates
- 23:58Speaker 2: of Christmas and Chrism. This class reunion, bring in the heat,
- 24:02Speaker 2: but in twenty too, oh my gosh, two guys fearting
- 24:07Speaker 2: with each other. Twenty twenty did have the Christmas House,
- 24:11Speaker 2: but in twenty twenty two you gotta work hard. Yeah
- 24:16Speaker 2: the bar is so really hot, real higher. Yeah, yes,
- 24:19Speaker 2: I agree. Yeah, all right. Thank you for listening to
