- 0:09Speaker 1: Now back to Mark Simone on wo R. Hey, let's
- 0:15Speaker 1: take some calls. Let's go to Charles Miller place, a
- 0:18Speaker 1: nice part of Long Island. Charles, how you doing great?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Hi? Mark?
- 0:23Speaker 2: How are you good?
- 0:24Speaker 3: I just wanted to mention before Bill Maher had that platform,
- 0:28Speaker 3: I believe it was Wayne's World with Wayne and Goss,
- 0:32Speaker 3: and that's kind of true.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 0:36Speaker 3: I think Bill Maher may have taken it from them.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Well, I don't know where he got it from, but
- 0:40Speaker 1: you're right, you're right. That was the first time and
- 0:42Speaker 1: that was Wayne's World. What was that back in the nineties,
- 0:45Speaker 1: the early two thousand tests, before podcasts, before any of
- 0:47Speaker 1: that stuff. Yeah, it was two guys in the basement. Yah,
- 0:50Speaker 1: remember starting it live? In those days, there were a
- 0:52Speaker 1: lot of where somebody had a show like two amateurs
- 0:55Speaker 1: talking in Wayne's World was the best of them. Let's
- 0:59Speaker 1: go to Mike and Mike. How you doing good morning?
- 1:02Speaker 2: Mark?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yes, Mike too bad?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Onto what the previous call had just mentioned. I was
- 1:07Speaker 2: going to say that back in the day, it was
- 1:09Speaker 2: a little bit more formal than it is now as
- 1:12Speaker 2: casual as it is now with mar and Hannity and
- 1:15Speaker 2: l o'reiley even copied that format. It was toping.
- 1:18Speaker 1: You know what, Actually, I give a Riley credit. He
- 1:20Speaker 1: didn't copy that format. When he does it, it looks
- 1:23Speaker 1: like a TV set and he's got a suit on.
- 1:25Speaker 1: He didn't go in for that show.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's a little more formal than the other
- 1:29Speaker 2: two guys been doing it. But back in the day,
- 1:31Speaker 2: Tom Snyder, you know, considering you know, the time he
- 1:35Speaker 2: was doing it, that was sort of like a precursor
- 1:38Speaker 2: to this format also.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Well, but Tom Snyder, it was a TV studio, it
- 1:42Speaker 1: was suits and sizes. But Tom Snyder was copying Mike
- 1:45Speaker 1: Wallace who had done that in the.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Fifties, and David Suskind also to a logic extent.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But the originator was Mike Wallace in the fifties. Good point, Mike,
- 1:53Speaker 1: thanks for calling. And back in the nineteen fifties Mike
- 1:57Speaker 1: Wallace did it was called night Beat. It was a
- 1:59Speaker 1: local show on Channel five mid fifties, and it was
- 2:03Speaker 1: him and a guest and they both sit in chairs
- 2:05Speaker 1: facing each other black background, no set, just a black man.
- 2:09Speaker 1: He'd grill the guy and Suskin did a Sunday night
- 2:13Speaker 1: show where it was it was always a panel. And
- 2:15Speaker 1: all this stuff is on YouTube, by the way, you
- 2:17Speaker 1: can go watch these old shows. Pretty interesting to look at. Now,
- 2:20Speaker 1: let's go to Don in New York City. Don, how
- 2:22Speaker 1: you doing.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Yes, hello, Mark, you were talking yesterday about the film
- 2:27Speaker 3: High Society. Yeah, so let Home was also in that film, so.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Lest Home Sinatra bing Crosby Grace Kelly. Louis Armstrong is
- 2:37Speaker 1: in the film.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yes, yes, she shang a duet with Sinatra who wants
- 2:43Speaker 3: to be a millionaire.
- 2:44Speaker 1: There you go. What are we supposed to do with
- 2:46Speaker 1: this information?
- 2:48Speaker 3: I don't know?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Oh, okay, well, no, it's good. It was a great fabric.
- 2:51Speaker 1: You go watch that film High Society. You know, Frank
- 2:55Speaker 1: Sinatra never got intimidated. He was the most confident, courageous
- 2:59Speaker 1: man in the world. Nobody intimidated him except twice in
- 3:03Speaker 1: his life. Once he was young, he was about eighteen.
- 3:06Speaker 1: He started. He was a singing waiter in New Jersey.
- 3:10Speaker 1: It was called the Rustic Cabin. It's right right where
- 3:15Speaker 1: you got off the Palisades. I think eggsit won there.
- 3:18Speaker 1: But it was a little roadhouse and he was a
- 3:19Speaker 1: singer little. I mean, he was his first job. He's eighteen.
- 3:24Speaker 1: He was also a waiter and a singer. Well, Cold
- 3:25Speaker 1: Porter came in one night. Couldn't believe it, Cold Porter's
- 3:29Speaker 1: in the audience. So Sinatra decided he'll sing Night and Day. Well,
- 3:33Speaker 1: he got up there and completely panicked. He just froze.
- 3:36Speaker 1: He couldn't remember the words to Night and Day. It
- 3:38Speaker 1: was the most embarrassing thing ever. And that was when
- 3:41Speaker 1: he was eighteen. Now million years later he's the biggest
- 3:44Speaker 1: star on earth and he's making the film High Society.
- 3:47Speaker 1: It's nineteen fifty six. It's a Cold Porter musical. Coldporter
- 3:52Speaker 1: comes to visit the set and at one point Sinatra system,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you wouldn't remember this, but when when I was eighteen,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I was singing in a road and Coldporter said, I
- 4:04Speaker 1: never forgot it. I never forgot that moment. So it's
- 4:10Speaker 1: stuck in Coldporter's mind. It was so unbelievable. The other
- 4:14Speaker 1: time Sinatra got intimidated, he told me the only other
- 4:17Speaker 1: time he got intimidated was when he met Winston Churchill.
- 4:19Speaker 1: This is long after World War Two, early fifties. He's
- 4:24Speaker 1: in London and there's a receiving line that where you
- 4:27Speaker 1: were going to meet Churchill. And as he got up
- 4:29Speaker 1: to Churchill, he said, I'm Frank Sinatra, and he tried
- 4:31Speaker 1: to explain who he was, and Churchill grabbed him by
- 4:34Speaker 1: the shoulders. He goes, young man, he goes, I know
- 4:37Speaker 1: who you are. He goes. During World War two and
- 4:39Speaker 1: we went down in the tunnels when we were being bombed.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It was your music that got us through the night.
- 4:44Speaker 1: We listened to your recordings, and Sinatra actually teared up.
- 4:48Speaker 1: He couldn't believe it. Anyways, go to Vincent and Brooklyn.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Vincent, how you doing great stories? Mack, great stories. Mark.
- 4:55Speaker 4: I'm sure you heard my ma'am Mondami's press conference yesterday
- 4:59Speaker 4: where he had all heads of various departments. So, ma'am
- 5:03Speaker 4: and Damie wants to end so called discrimination against blacks
- 5:07Speaker 4: in Hispanics in New York City by introducing discrimination on
- 5:12Speaker 4: everybody else. He claims that blacks and Hispanics in the
- 5:16Speaker 4: city are not doing it as well as everybody else.
- 5:20Speaker 4: But yet, as Liz Peake said, and also the President
- 5:24Speaker 4: for the Partnership of New York had an article in
- 5:27Speaker 4: the Business section of the in the post yesterday or
- 5:30Speaker 4: the day before, the crushing effects that New York City
- 5:34Speaker 4: and New York State's fiscal policies are have it on
- 5:38Speaker 4: the populace and on the people who create wealth and
- 5:41Speaker 4: the jobs in the city. He never mentions it.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Wait a minute, you're a stun that the Democratic Socialist
- 5:49Speaker 1: is a hypocrite. You can't believe it.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I mean, but I also heard that the Trump Justice
- 5:57Speaker 4: Department was carefully my what Mondamie was saying, because they
- 6:02Speaker 4: may bring a federal law discrimination lawsuit against the Mondamian administration.
- 6:08Speaker 4: If he tries to pull it's over. It's open discrimination.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Markin absolutely Vincent, great call, You're absolutely right. So he's
- 6:16Speaker 1: going to do one of these diversity quota reverse the
- 6:20Speaker 1: discrimination yourself. But the Trump Justice Department has said they
- 6:24Speaker 1: are gonna look at it, They're going to keep their
- 6:26Speaker 1: eye on it, and he could actually be violating the
- 6:29Speaker 1: law his own form of discrimination. So we'll see. Let's
- 6:32Speaker 1: go to Roger in Astoria. Roger, how you doing.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Yeah good. It was a number of years back. But
- 6:41Speaker 5: the ex president of Iran, I'm a dinajad. Hey, the
- 6:45Speaker 5: following statement, I'm going to paraphrase it, he basically said
- 6:50Speaker 5: that if one of the Arab countries has a nuclear
- 6:53Speaker 5: weapon that has dropped it on Israel, fully understanding that
- 6:58Speaker 5: Israel will retaliate and wipe them off the face of
- 7:02Speaker 5: the earth. He said, but you got to take one
- 7:05Speaker 5: for the team. This is the mentality that we're dealing with.
- 7:08Speaker 1: No, absolutely, this is the people yelled death to America
- 7:11Speaker 1: all the time. I forgot about it. I'm a Didijon,
- 7:13Speaker 1: the Iranian president, the worst lunatic, radical, nut job lunatic
- 7:17Speaker 1: in the world. And you remember this is years ago.
- 7:21Speaker 1: If you think Columbia University just got bad the last
- 7:23Speaker 1: few years, it's been bad for a long time. Member.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I can't remember who it is. It was a very
- 7:27Speaker 1: prominent Republican politician or governor or some Republican was to
- 7:32Speaker 1: speak at Columbia and the students went crazy because he
- 7:35Speaker 1: was a Republican. They did not want him to speak.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They protested, they blocked the hole, so they had to
- 7:40Speaker 1: cancel this Republican guy's speech, and instead the speaker was
- 7:44Speaker 1: Ahmed Didijohn. The students embraced him the crazy death to America,
- 7:49Speaker 1: Death to Israel. Iranian President Ahmed Didijohn, They actually let
- 7:55Speaker 1: him speak at Columbia. It's always been bad, it's just
- 7:58Speaker 1: it's just the craziest place Colombia. I think it finally
- 8:01Speaker 1: got exposed after October seventh, and it's going to be
- 8:05Speaker 1: decades and decades before they ever recover their their reputation. Hey,
- 8:10Speaker 1: when we come back, Bill O'Reilly will be with us
- 8:13Speaker 1: and we'll I got lots to talk to him about.
- 8:15Speaker 1: We'll also tell you how all of this is coordinated,
- 8:17Speaker 1: the Democratic attacks, how coordinated they are. We'll get to
- 8:20Speaker 1: that coming up on seven to ten wor
