- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little disappointed that the Jaguars don't have a finalist for assistant coach of the year.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: It is what it is.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Come back player of the year.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is a finalist and most valuable player.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is a finalist.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: One of one, two, three, four, five finalists.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is for most valuable player.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: That and enough itself.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's awesome.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: It is awesome for the Jacksonville Jaguars who Trevor Lawrence has been much maligned throughout his career.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the prince it was promised.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a generational quarterback.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: Why did the Jaguars?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think Trevor Lawrence midway through this season.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars fans, many of them, and folks around the league folks around the national media say in Trevor Lawrence and he's not the guy.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: And he leads his team along with a lot of help from a lot of other folks.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: He leads his team to a 13 and 4 record and finishes as a top 5 candidate for MVP.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: That is awesome.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: And he did it coming off of an injury last season.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why he's also in the comeback player of the year award running.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: So Trevor Lawrence, when you look at the other MVP candidates, Josh Allen, Christian McCaffrey, Drake May, Matthew Stafford, I gotta say, I don't think Trevor Lawrence should be MVP of the 2025 NFL season.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: He had a great year, 39 total touchdowns.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: 39 total touchdowns is incredible.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: And again, let us seem to a 13 and 4 record.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: If this was an award for back half of the season MVP, I'd vote for Trevor Lawrence right now.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: What he did over the back half of the season was ludicrous.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: However, this is a full season award.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think Josh Allen clearly ahead of him.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think Matthew Stafford, clearly ahead of him, I think Stafford should be the guy.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Stafford should be the guy.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: But I think both of those guys are ahead of him.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: I would put Trevor in front of Drake May.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that there's an argument either way.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then as far as Christian McCaffer goes, he ran for 1200 yards with 10 touchdowns.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: He caught 100 passes for 924 yards and 7 touchdowns.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: So he scored 17 total touchdowns and had over 2000 yards.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: You could make the argument Trevor Lawrence is the weakest MVP candidate.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could also make the argument that he could be third place.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Anywhere from third to fifth, I think makes sense for Trevor Lawrence in the MVP candidacy.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I'm not hating, I'm just saying, look, these guys had, I mean, Matthew's effort in Josh Allen had better seasons.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: And you got to see Allen verse Lawrence in the playoffs.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Alan outplayed Lawrence in the playoff game that they played in Jacksonville, he did.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I don't think that Lawrence is MVP.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think a win, I don't think he should win.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Love him.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Excited to see him play football for the long time in Jacksonville.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, not gonna be the MVP.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: Coach of the year, you've got Liam Cohen, Ben Johnson, Mike McDonald, Kyle Shanna
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think what Kyle Shanahan did in San Francisco was really impressive.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: However, San Francisco is a perennial contender and I know they have down years here and there and this could have very well been one of those down years and I think Shanahan did a really good job but keeping a very good team, very good, in my opinion, is not really worthy of
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Number one seed in the NFC, 14 and three record, absolutely insane defense.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: The evolution of Sam Darnold, and obviously, J.S.N.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: becoming like the best receiver in football and all these different things are amazing and Mike McDonald is a great coach, but they were a good team last year.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they improved by four games, which is very impressive.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, this is a three-horse race between Liam Cohen, Ben Johnson, and Mike Variable.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I really do think you could make a strong argument for any of these guys.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know how you get past Mike Vrable taking the four win Patriots, which of course the Jaguar's only had four wins last year too.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: But winning 14 games and he asked the schedule was a little easier than it was for a lot of other teams.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: But hey, they went beat the Texans in the playoffs,
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're probably going to Super Bowl.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to go to the Super Bowl at this point, I really do.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Mike Rable, I think he's going to be coach of the year.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's already one coach of the year once, does that negatively impact his bid for a coach of the year?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: But that's an incredible turnaround.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Ben Johnson bears 11 and 5 record they gave the Rams everything they could handle obviously and FC North champs They didn't have quite the same level of a turnaround in us this early, but it was still an incredibly impressive turnaround it was And then Liam Cohen Jaguars were 4 and 13 13 and 4 record division title
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: incredible season.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think in a given year, any one of these guys could be a coach of the year.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think by variable, probably going to win it.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, that's who I would vote for.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like to say it.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: I want Liam Cohen to win the award.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think Liam Cohen is more
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I still just, I think that he's getting, just, my grave was gotten by a little bit, I think.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: I would give it to Cohen over Johnson.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: But not by much, I mean, that's a close one too, because the bears are in a tougher division to do what they did was really impressive too.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, again, no assistant coach of the year candidates for the Jag war is no come, uh, excuse me, they do have come back later.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: No defense of player that you're which them and Lloyd probably should be in the finalists.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: But it's always a sack type of award.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's Will Anderson, Jr., it's Nick Bonito, it's Miles Garrett, it's Adrian Hutchinson, it's Michael Parsons offensive player the year.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Jag war didn't have a candidate outside of, you know, Trevor.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: offensive or defensive rookie the year.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get it.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: But come back player the year.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Trevor Lawrence Christian McCaffrey Stefan Diggs, Aiden Hutchinson and Dak Prescott.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Stefan Diggs should be up there, even though he, yeah, good season for sure.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Come back season great.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Dak Prescott same thing.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think that the resume stacks up.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's three legitimate candidates for come back player the year.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: At least that's in my eyes, Trevor Lawrence, Christian McAfrey, Aiden Hutchinson, Aiden Hutchinson came back from a big injury.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how did hell of a season?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Unbelievable year.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: The guy is a freak.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Christian McAfrey, we talked about as well.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: Great year.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: 17 touchdowns over 2,000 yards.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty incredible.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, unbelievable year two, especially, you know, back after the year 39 total touchdowns.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think again, this is a three-horse race.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: I could see it going either way between Lawrence McAfrey and Hutchinson.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: national notoriety and attention, you know, you see more focus on the 49ers and lions than the Jaguar.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: So my guess is Lawrence won't win.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I think this and coach of the year the Jaguars have legitimate bids at this.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is the award.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Really that they should have the best chance of winning.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Although again,
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Liam, come for Coach of the Year is right there.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I think Mike variables are gonna get it.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think he deserves it.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Come back player of the year, I think Lawrence.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you can say that Hutchinson or McAfrey had more impactful better years than Lawrence as come back players.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's where I'm at, where are you at?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know in the comments section below.
