Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: So who's Dave really going to pick as his assistance?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Do we read?
- 0:03Speaker 3: I've got a strength of surrounding myself with quality of people,
- 0:06Speaker 3: and people can make a difference. So I'm keen to
- 0:09Speaker 3: bring some people in. Yeah, it's a key part of understanding,
- 0:13Speaker 3: you know, who we represent and how we want to
- 0:15Speaker 3: be perceived.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Sam Ackerman is with our sports commentator Sam, good morning,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Morning's your roan? How do you reckon you'll pick?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well? Listen. I think there needs to be something that
- 0:25Speaker 2: will resemble a little continuity. I think Jason Ryan as
- 0:28Speaker 2: an assistant coach through a couple of all that coaches,
- 0:30Speaker 2: now who somebody could stay in the mix outside of that.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I really hope they're names that most people go who.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I want the all assistant coaches to go back to
- 0:40Speaker 2: being assistant coaches. Not as important a part of the
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yourvack structure is what the all back coaches. I want
- 0:45Speaker 2: a head coach and the other coaches are come in
- 0:47Speaker 2: and do the specialist jobs. I think he's worked with
- 0:49Speaker 2: some wonderful ones through the Chiefs and Manawa two. He
- 0:52Speaker 2: will look to what he knows here. I don't expect
- 0:54Speaker 2: him bring in from overseas at this stage, but I'd
- 0:57Speaker 2: think plays people like Andrew Strawbridge who have been a
- 0:59Speaker 2: wonderful listen to him in the past and what he
- 1:01Speaker 2: achieved in the Chiefs. So hopefully they're going for guys
- 1:04Speaker 2: who don't have big profiles and we're not going to
- 1:06Speaker 2: take every super rugby head coach like we did under
- 1:08Speaker 2: the previous regime. Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Right, So some anonymous henchman is what we need.
- 1:13Speaker 2: White Man. What we need is people who don't come
- 1:16Speaker 2: in with big profile head coaches working all together don't
- 1:19Speaker 2: always make the right max. Assistant coaches know their role
- 1:21Speaker 2: a little more.
- 1:23Speaker 1: No your plays. Why do you think he beat Jamie Joseph?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Was it because he had a better plan or was
- 1:28Speaker 1: it because of what people said about them?
- 1:31Speaker 2: I think that his reputation with culture. Jamie Joseph is
- 1:35Speaker 2: known a lot more hard nosed as a coach than
- 1:39Speaker 2: Dave Rennie is. Neither you know, both have got strong reputations.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It's not a crack at either, but Jamie Joseph is
- 1:44Speaker 2: a little fed for some of his training methods more
- 1:47Speaker 2: rather than David Rennie. So I think that that. I
- 1:50Speaker 2: think Dave Rennie's approach to people and the way that
- 1:53Speaker 2: he players love to play for him as the person
- 1:56Speaker 2: I think got him overlying in the end. I also
- 1:58Speaker 2: think failure overseas and learning overseas has been a massive
- 2:02Speaker 2: part for him.
- 2:03Speaker 1: To this no loyalties comment that he made. Did Robertson
- 2:07Speaker 1: or others have them to our detriment was? Is that
- 2:10Speaker 1: necessarily a dig at anyone?
- 2:12Speaker 2: I think it's no loyalties to the current squad. Of
- 2:14Speaker 2: course he's going to have loyalties, and when he picks players,
- 2:17Speaker 2: he'll want to stick with them. He won't be giving
- 2:19Speaker 2: a guy go one week and then throwing them outcause
- 2:21Speaker 2: he dropped to pass. So he will have loyalties. But
- 2:24Speaker 2: to me, I read that as he's not loyal to
- 2:26Speaker 2: everybody currently in that frame that said, he isn't even
- 2:29Speaker 2: got his hands on the All Acts personally because of
- 2:32Speaker 2: his rolls over in Japan until essentially the start of
- 2:35Speaker 2: at July windows. So he's going to need to go
- 2:38Speaker 2: with some people who know what they're doing at the
- 2:40Speaker 2: test level, who they are, who the captain is. That's
- 2:42Speaker 2: all to.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Come, all right, And now we just got to win
- 2:44Speaker 1: some tests and then the World Cup.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Easy, Andy, Andy, Yeah, it was good.
