- 0:01Speaker 1: On the other side of temporary pain, you get introduced
- 0:05Speaker 1: to your other self. We think everything's permanent. And because
- 0:10Speaker 1: we think it's permanent, we make permanent decisions based on
- 0:12Speaker 1: temporary conditions.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I'm super proud of where so many of you are
- 0:17Speaker 2: right now. But I don't let anybody settle. I don't
- 0:21Speaker 2: want us to become complacent. Man, I want you to
- 0:24Speaker 2: engage with you. I want you to start confronting yourself.
- 0:30Speaker 3: It's up to you to assemble yourself.
- 0:34Speaker 4: You have to work on you.
- 0:37Speaker 5: What we do is we shackle our mind.
- 0:39Speaker 6: We are a prisoner in our own mind that this
- 0:41Speaker 6: is all I can do. This is all I'm good at.
- 0:44Speaker 4: We really do believe it's further away.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Like, we honestly believe this thing is like a 20-year thing.
- 0:48Speaker 1: And so because we believe that, we keep it there
- 0:49Speaker 1: and we miss out on these, you know, possibilities in
- 0:52Speaker 1: our life.
- 0:53Speaker 4: You have the.
- 0:53Speaker 6: Power within yourself to change millions of lives.
- 0:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 0:59Speaker 6: By facing life, by facing yourself.
- 1:01Speaker 8: Most people go through life quietly and safely, tiptoeing to
- 1:05Speaker 8: an early grade. Find out what it is you want
- 1:08Speaker 8: and go after it as if your life depends on it.
- 1:12Speaker 1: You need to create a different relationship with pain in
- 1:14Speaker 1: your life.
- 1:15Speaker 8: The foundation of all strength is pain.
- 1:18Speaker 4: There's always going to be storms on the horizon, but
- 1:20Speaker 4: you've got to have.
- 1:20Speaker 7: The strength, the out and out arrogance to just keep
- 1:23Speaker 7: getting up and keep carrying on.
- 1:25Speaker 3: It's doing.
- 1:27Speaker 4: That's how you get great at your craft.
- 1:29Speaker 8: And so if you're not willing to be a fool,
- 1:30Speaker 8: then you'll never start anything new. And if you never
- 1:32Speaker 8: start anything new, then you won't develop. And so the
- 1:35Speaker 8: willingness to be a fool is the precursor to transformation.
- 1:38Speaker 8: And that's the same as humility. And so if you're
- 1:40Speaker 8: going to write your destiny, you can do a bad
- 1:43Speaker 8: first job. You're going to get smarter as you move forward.
- 1:46Speaker 9: I promise you, you are turning into a warrior.
- 1:50Speaker 10: Because the stuff that you're going through, the stuff that.
- 1:52Speaker 9: You have to experience, what don't kill you makes you stronger.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Like, I want you to understand. Like, I don't know
- 1:59Speaker 1: your story.
- 2:00Speaker 9: I don't know the depths of what some of.
- 2:02Speaker 7: You have had to deal with.
- 2:04Speaker 5: But I'm here to tell you, man, you can do
- 2:05Speaker 5: hard things.
- 2:07Speaker 8: And as long as there's breath in your lungs, there's
- 2:10Speaker 8: hope in your.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Heart, too.
- 2:12Speaker 9: But what you cannot do is you cannot quit doing
- 2:15Speaker 9: the process. Stop sitting around moping and complaining and waiting
- 2:20Speaker 9: for somebody to connect the dots for you. Put the
- 2:23Speaker 9: work in and take the stairs to the top.
- 2:27Speaker 3: To get that good is a terrifying journey of self-discovery
- 2:33Speaker 3: and confronting who.
- 2:34Speaker 7: You really are.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Because you cannot make change until you acknowledge where you're
- 2:40Speaker 3: actually at.
- 2:42Speaker 7: Nothing is easy. Anything worth having is hard to get.
- 2:45Speaker 7: Admit that you can have anything you want, but it's
- 2:48Speaker 7: going to be hard work. Admit that you are the
- 2:50Speaker 7: only reason that you are where you are, and you
- 2:53Speaker 7: are the only reason that you ain't where you want
- 2:55Speaker 7: to be. Admit. Take responsibility and accept it. Get off
- 3:00Speaker 7: your ass and get to work.
- 3:06Speaker 11: If you're suffering terribly, There's two options in front of
- 3:10Speaker 11: you in some sense. One is you're suffering terribly and
- 3:12Speaker 11: it's unjust and you're suffering terribly because the cosmos itself.
- 3:16Speaker 11: The other possibility is you're suffering at least in part
- 3:20Speaker 11: because you're not everything you could be.
- 3:22Speaker 9: Most of us, we live in a box and we
- 3:25Speaker 9: don't want to go outside that box at all, ever.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Outside that box is all these possibilities of life.
- 3:34Speaker 5: I now know that there is no cap on the
- 3:37Speaker 5: human mind There's no cap.
- 3:41Speaker 10: We cap it ourselves.
- 3:43Speaker 8: And there is a literature, too, that suggests that people
- 3:45Speaker 8: are a lot more unhappy when they look back on
- 3:48Speaker 8: their lives about the things they didn't do than they
- 3:52Speaker 8: are about the mistakes they made while they were doing things.
- 3:55Speaker 8: And so that's really worth thinking about, too, because there's
- 3:58Speaker 8: redemptive mistakes. And a redemptive mistake would be a mistake
- 4:02Speaker 8: that you make when you go out and try to
- 4:03Speaker 8: do something. You know, you actually think, okay, I'm going
- 4:06Speaker 8: to try to do this. and you're not good at it,
- 4:08Speaker 8: you make a bunch of mistakes. It's like, what's the
- 4:10Speaker 8: consequence if you pay attention? You're not quite so stupid anymore.
- 4:14Speaker 8: That's the thing, is you've been informed by the results
- 4:17Speaker 8: of your errors. Take some stumbling steps towards it. And
- 4:22Speaker 8: as you take stumbling steps towards it, you become illuminated
- 4:26Speaker 8: and enlightened and informed because of the nature of your experience,
- 4:29Speaker 8: because you're pushing yourself beyond where you are, and you're
- 4:31Speaker 8: going into the country that you have not yet been in.
- 4:34Speaker 8: And you learn something, and so If you stand still,
- 4:37Speaker 8: you fall backwards. You cannot stand still. Because the world
- 4:42Speaker 8: moves away from you if you stand still. And there's
- 4:45Speaker 8: no stasis. There's only backwards. And so if you're not
- 4:48Speaker 8: moving forwards, then you're moving backwards. And that's more of
- 4:51Speaker 8: the underlying truth of the Matthew principle. To those who
- 4:55Speaker 8: have everything, more will be given. From those who have nothing,
- 4:58Speaker 8: everything will be taken.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Everybody wants to get to a place. Very few are
- 5:04Speaker 4: willing to sacrifice to get there. Everything that has happened
- 5:08Speaker 4: that's been good to me is slow. If you actually
- 5:12Speaker 4: thought about your life in a 50-year window or an
- 5:15Speaker 4: 80-year window, you would slow down. Everybody wants to succeed
- 5:19Speaker 4: so fast because they want to prove something to somebody else.
- 5:23Speaker 6: I started down the road of instead of the path
- 5:26Speaker 6: of least resistance, I started choosing the path of most
- 5:29Speaker 6: resistance to prepare myself for the journey that was coming
- 5:32Speaker 6: my way.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:33Speaker 10: And most kids don't prepare themselves for the most resistance.
- 5:36Speaker 7: No.
- 5:36Speaker 10: They want to get out of They want to get
- 5:37Speaker 10: out of things. Get off the hook.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:39Speaker 10: Don't put in the extra reps. Right.
- 5:41Speaker 3: They want the easiest path to get to the top, right?
- 5:43Speaker 6: Right, exactly.
- 5:44Speaker 5: We believe, like so many people, before I give them
- 5:47Speaker 5: a workout plan, they're talking about recovery.
- 5:49Speaker 10: Everybody that hears me speak, they.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Want to go straight to recovery. Work out first.
- 5:57Speaker 10: Work out first. Before you talk to me about recovery.
- 5:59Speaker 10: How to recover, yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 8: Work out first.
- 6:02Speaker 10: You know, they want to put you in a box.
- 6:05Speaker 10: They want to put a title on you.
- 6:07Speaker 5: No, you're putting a title on me to make yourself
- 6:10Speaker 5: feel better about yourself. I made this person. I made
- 6:14Speaker 5: this person by diving in to the insecurities that life
- 6:17Speaker 5: gave me.
- 6:17Speaker 10: Because now they're yours.
- 6:19Speaker 7: They're yours to own.
- 6:20Speaker 10: If you're not smart, call yourself dumb.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Because you are.
- 6:26Speaker 10: But take that not as you're putting yourself down. If
- 6:28Speaker 10: you're fat, call yourself fat. I used to be 300 pounds.
- 6:31Speaker 10: We want to talk so soft to ourselves. We're looking
- 6:34Speaker 10: for that recovery day. And that recovery day... is everything
- 6:38Speaker 10: in your life. Everything in your life is a recovery day.
- 6:40Speaker 7: We're looking for it.
- 6:41Speaker 10: It's not coming. It's not coming.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Get over that recovery day. And that's the mentality I
- 6:48Speaker 5: took with me. When you start to build yourself up
- 6:52Speaker 5: and start to have the one thing that we don't
- 6:54Speaker 5: have is confidence. Real, authentic confidence from hard work.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Everything else goes away. You no longer look to other
- 7:02Speaker 1: people for your self-esteem.
- 7:04Speaker 10: That's right.
- 7:06Speaker 5: You now know. I walk in the room now and
- 7:09Speaker 5: I know the hours and years and decades I put
- 7:12Speaker 5: into David Goggins.
- 7:14Speaker 10: That's something, it's not on the wall. It's not a
- 7:17Speaker 10: trophy on the wall. It's not a medal on your neck.
- 7:19Speaker 5: I don't care how you perceive David Goggins because through
- 7:22Speaker 5: my journey, I figured out the one piece I was missing.
- 7:26Speaker 10: I thought it was cars. I thought it was women.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I thought it was money.
- 7:30Speaker 7: I thought it was everything.
- 7:31Speaker 10: The one piece I was missing was me having the
- 7:34Speaker 10: courage to face myself.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Thank you.
