- 0:54Speaker 2: welcome back to the his high radio podcast this is
- 0:59Speaker 2: verse by verse This is where we're going to go
- 1:02Speaker 2: through the word of God. You know how we do
- 1:04Speaker 2: chapter by chapter, verse by verse. We're going to be
- 1:08Speaker 2: in Jeremiah chapter 23. We're going to go through verse
- 1:13Speaker 2: 30 to 35. We're going to look at five verses today.
- 1:18Speaker 2: The title of today's podcast is when people twist the
- 1:23Speaker 2: word of God. That is not good. That is not
- 1:27Speaker 2: good at all. The Bible says in Peter. that people
- 1:33Speaker 2: twist the word to their own destruction. So we're going
- 1:35Speaker 2: to take a look at that today. I'm your host.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I'm your brother, Missy His Hop. Now, in our previous episode,
- 1:43Speaker 2: we've seen God expose false prophets who claim to speak
- 1:47Speaker 2: for him, even though he had never sent them. They'd
- 1:54Speaker 2: offered people false hope, spoke from their own imaginations, and
- 2:00Speaker 2: led people away from the truth. You do not trifle
- 2:06Speaker 2: with God or his word. And so today God identifies
- 2:12Speaker 2: three serious problems here. People who steal his word from
- 2:17Speaker 2: one another, people who use their own tongue while claiming
- 2:21Speaker 2: he said, and people who twist his word until no
- 2:28Speaker 2: longer You cannot recognize the original message that comes from
- 2:37Speaker 2: the Lord, our God.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Amen.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Now, this passage should make everyone who teaches, preaches, creates
- 2:48Speaker 2: Christian content or speaks about God examine ourselves.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Because using God's name doesn't automatically mean anything. that we

- 4:38Speaker 2: Father in prayer. Father, we come to you, God. We
- 4:41Speaker 2: quench every fiery dart of the enemy, O God. We
- 4:44Speaker 2: silence the voices of all familiar spirits on today. Father God,
- 4:51Speaker 2: we ask, Lord, that you will nourish our souls, our
- 4:54Speaker 2: spirits today with your word, oh God, that we will
- 4:57Speaker 2: not just be focused on feeding our flesh. But yes, Lord,
- 5:02Speaker 2: we will feed our spirit, Father God, that we will
- 5:05Speaker 2: seek you. We will come after you with all of
- 5:08Speaker 2: our hearts and trust you. We ask, Lord, that you'll
- 5:11Speaker 2: attach a blessing to this podcast and to this episode
- 5:15Speaker 2: for those who hear it. And we ask this in
- 5:18Speaker 2: Jesus' name. Amen. Amen and amen. All right, y'all. Well,
- 5:27Speaker 2: let's get to the scripture. Book of Jeremiah. It looks
- 5:36Speaker 2: like you lost another one. Chapter 23. And I'm coming
- 5:43Speaker 2: at you from the new KJV, which is The New
- 5:48Speaker 2: King James Version of the Bible. Let's go ahead and
- 5:57Speaker 2: read them first, and then we'll jump back and break
- 6:01Speaker 2: down these verses. Therefore, behold, I am against the prophet,
- 6:08Speaker 2: says the Lord, who steal my words, every one from
- 6:12Speaker 2: his neighbor. Wow. Behold, I am against the prophet, says
- 6:18Speaker 2: the Lord. Use your tongues and say, he says. Behold,
- 6:24Speaker 2: I am against those who prophesy false dreams, says the Lord.
- 6:29Speaker 2: And tell them and cause my people to err by
- 6:34Speaker 2: their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not
- 6:40Speaker 2: send them or command them, therefore, they shall not profit
- 6:46Speaker 2: this people at all, says the Lord. So when these
- 6:51Speaker 2: people or the prophets or the priests ask you saying,
- 6:56Speaker 2: what is the oracle of the Lord? You shall then
- 7:00Speaker 2: say to them, what oracles? I will even forsake you,
- 7:05Speaker 2: says the Lord. And as for the prophet and the
- 7:09Speaker 2: priests and the people who say the oracle of the Lord,
- 7:15Speaker 2: I will even punish that man and his house. Thus,
- 7:24Speaker 2: every one of you shall say to his neighbor and
- 7:28Speaker 2: every one of his neighbor. What has the Lord answered?
- 7:34Speaker 2: And what has the Lord spoken? All right. This is strong.
- 7:43Speaker 2: This is a strong rebuke, a strong warning, and a
- 7:50Speaker 2: super strong message. So let's get in it. Verse 30. Therefore, behold,
- 8:00Speaker 2: I am against the prophet, says the Lord. They steal
- 8:04Speaker 2: my words, everyone from his neighbor. Now, God declares that
- 8:13Speaker 2: he's against the prophets who steal my words. Everyone from
- 8:17Speaker 2: his neighbor. Now, this reminds me of social media. How
- 8:24Speaker 2: many times have we seen content creators steal content from
- 8:30Speaker 2: one another? Now, I know we do these things and
- 8:33Speaker 2: I do it myself called reaction videos. These things have
- 8:38Speaker 2: gotten real popular and I try to find great videos
- 8:44Speaker 2: that I can react to that kind of go along
- 8:48Speaker 2: with the biblical topic or, you know, and I'm talking
- 8:50Speaker 2: about my YouTube channel, but it is also easy to
- 8:55Speaker 2: watch a whole podcast. And then we have AI tools
- 9:02Speaker 2: now where we could just download the transcript. We could
- 9:07Speaker 2: just change a few things and then we could put
- 9:08Speaker 2: it out as if it's our own. And the scriptures here,
- 9:15Speaker 2: it exposes these prophets. They're taking words from other prophets
- 9:23Speaker 2: and they're using them as if it's their own. Now,
- 9:26Speaker 2: think about that. Those prophets were supposed to deliver God's message,
- 9:32Speaker 2: but instead they were taking words from one another and
- 9:37Speaker 2: presenting them as though they were genuine messages. from the Lord.
- 9:43Speaker 2: That is human nature. And God wasn't impressed by their
- 9:51Speaker 2: religious language. God knew exactly what they were doing. Now,
- 9:58Speaker 2: did warning emphasizes that a person can repeat religious words
- 10:05Speaker 2: without faithfully delivering God's message. So God's messenger has a
- 10:14Speaker 2: responsibility to represent his word honestly and Rather than borrowing
- 10:19Speaker 2: ideas and repeating deception that is floating around or even
- 10:25Speaker 2: claiming divine authority for a message that God did not give.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So there's a difference between learning from one another. Right.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Learning from a teacher. And there's a difference between that
- 10:46Speaker 2: and stealing someone's message while falsely claiming that God personally
- 10:52Speaker 2: gave it to you. Now, what I'm doing here on
- 10:56Speaker 2: this podcast is Bible study. So I quote commentary. I
- 11:03Speaker 2: look up scriptures. I go verse by verse. And I
- 11:07Speaker 2: know that this message is from God because it's his word.
- 11:10Speaker 2: The Bible says study to show thyself approved. And so
- 11:15Speaker 2: when I do speak, I can speak from the words
- 11:19Speaker 2: that I've studied. You can speak from the words from
- 11:23Speaker 2: this podcast because it's the Bible. You can go right
- 11:26Speaker 2: directly to scripture and back up what you're saying. But
- 11:33Speaker 2: for me to go out and hear a prophecy, let's say,
- 11:37Speaker 2: you know, the Lord is going to come back and
- 11:42Speaker 2: meet everybody at New York. city or something like that,
- 11:48Speaker 2: and I heard it from someone or I just made
- 11:51Speaker 2: it up or I'm lying, those are two separate things. Now,
- 12:00Speaker 2: we should give credit where credit is due. Now, more importantly,
- 12:04Speaker 2: we must never use the authority of God's name to
- 12:08Speaker 2: make our own ideas sound unquestionable. You know, there are
- 12:14Speaker 2: people who will follow you without any reservation if you
- 12:21Speaker 2: come and say, God told me to tell you. There's
- 12:24Speaker 2: some people out there, they're ignorant, they're uneducated. They don't
- 12:28Speaker 2: know about discernment. They don't know about testing the spirits.
- 12:32Speaker 2: And God does not want us to take advantage of
- 12:35Speaker 2: his sheep like that. And people who do so will
- 12:41Speaker 2: have to answer to God. This applies to preaching, songwriting, podcasts,
- 12:50Speaker 2: social media, and Christian content of every kind. Don't use
- 12:55Speaker 2: God's name to give your own words and authority that
- 13:00Speaker 2: they don't deserve. Amen. I let people know straight up.
- 13:08Speaker 2: This is a verse by verse Bible study. We're studying
- 13:13Speaker 2: the Bible. And that is where we grow. That is
- 13:18Speaker 2: where we get our foundation. Amen. Verse 31, he saith. Now, next,
- 13:29Speaker 2: God confronts prophets who use their tongues to declare that
- 13:35Speaker 2: he saith. Well, in other words, they were claiming that
- 13:40Speaker 2: God had spoken when he had not spoken. So the
- 13:48Speaker 2: problem wasn't that they were talking about God. The problem
- 13:53Speaker 2: was that they were falsely attributing their own words to him.
- 14:04Speaker 2: So we can talk about God or we can learn
- 14:06Speaker 2: about his word and everything. But if I jump on
- 14:10Speaker 2: here and say, God told me you need to all
- 14:14Speaker 2: drain your bank accounts and put it in my account,
- 14:20Speaker 2: there's a difference there. So have you ever heard somebody say,
- 14:26Speaker 2: God told me to tell you and then give a
- 14:30Speaker 2: message that doesn't agree with scripture? That's the whole point.
- 14:36Speaker 2: We need to be careful with statements like that. I
- 14:41Speaker 2: remember when I was a young convert and me and
- 14:45Speaker 2: my brother were His name was Mike Bumgart. We used
- 14:49Speaker 2: to work at the horseshoe together. We used to go.
- 14:53Speaker 2: We used to teach Bible studies. We used to witness.
- 14:56Speaker 2: We used to evangelize real tough at work. And then
- 15:00Speaker 2: there was a Hispanic girl and a Caucasian girl. She
- 15:05Speaker 2: was blonde, Hispanic, jet black hair. Both of them were beautiful.
- 15:12Speaker 2: And they caught wind of what we were doing. And
- 15:14Speaker 2: so they started hanging out with us. They started coming
- 15:19Speaker 2: to Bible, we had Bible study at our lunch break.
- 15:23Speaker 2: They would join us at the table and all of
- 15:25Speaker 2: a sudden the whole table was full of people with
- 15:28Speaker 2: their Bibles, right? Studying the word. And the blonde girl
- 15:33Speaker 2: came up to my brother Mike and she said, God
- 15:37Speaker 2: told me that you're my husband. Like God told me
- 15:41Speaker 2: that I was supposed to marry you. But Mike didn't
- 15:45Speaker 2: fall for it one second. He was like, well, God
- 15:47Speaker 2: didn't tell me It's like God should tell, if someone
- 15:53Speaker 2: comes and tells you that God told you, told them
- 15:57Speaker 2: to tell you something, you should test the spirit. You
- 16:02Speaker 2: should ask the Lord to show you yourself, to speak
- 16:06Speaker 2: to you. God will speak. We just have to sit
- 16:10Speaker 2: and listen or even ask for confirmation. God doesn't mind
- 16:15Speaker 2: if we need confirmation. If we're trying to discern the
- 16:22Speaker 2: truth when someone approaches us. So there's also one thing
- 16:34Speaker 2: to say, here's what I believe this passage is teaching me.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And it's another thing to tell someone, God said this,
- 16:43Speaker 2: as if your personal impression carries the same authority as scripture.
- 16:51Speaker 2: So we should speak humbly. We need to handle the
- 16:56Speaker 2: Bible carefully and never use God told me to control
- 17:00Speaker 2: people or prevent honest questions. I welcome questions. We are...
- 17:20Speaker 2: held accountable to the way that we represent God to
- 17:24Speaker 2: other people. All right, verse 32, false dreams that lead
- 17:31Speaker 2: people astray. Now, God repeats his warning against those who
- 17:40Speaker 2: prophesy false dreams and cause people to err through lies
- 17:47Speaker 2: and their boastings. So notice the result. The people were
- 17:52Speaker 2: being led astray. False teaching is not harmless because it
- 17:59Speaker 2: sounds encouraging or even spiritual. It can confuse people. It
- 18:06Speaker 2: can distort and get my lips to work. It can
- 18:14Speaker 2: distort their understanding of God and lead them away from
- 18:19Speaker 2: a life of obedience. That's why this is so serious.
- 18:26Speaker 2: God makes his position clear. He did not send these
- 18:31Speaker 2: prophets or command them and their messages would not benefit
- 18:39Speaker 2: the people at all. These men were not speaking for God.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So the passage here warns against messages that claim divine
- 18:54Speaker 2: authority but lack God's approval. You always need to seek
- 19:00Speaker 2: God's approval. Even with this very podcast, I'm asking God
- 19:07Speaker 2: to bless it. I'm asking if God, if he approves
- 19:12Speaker 2: of it, if he is pleased with it. going over
- 19:17Speaker 2: the scriptures. And I do take notes from Calvary Chapel.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Pastor Chuck Smith, I believe, is one of the greatest
- 19:25Speaker 2: Bible teachers of all time. So this is how I
- 19:31Speaker 2: was trained up. But if the Lord wants me to
- 19:35Speaker 2: change it or if he disapproves of it, I have
- 19:38Speaker 2: to be discerning enough to switch up and to make
- 19:44Speaker 2: sure he is pleased. So the measure of a messenger
- 19:54Speaker 2: is not confidence, excitement, or even popularity. The message must
- 20:01Speaker 2: be faithful to what God has revealed. Amen. And that's,
- 20:09Speaker 2: I believe a battle for a lot of prophets, even
- 20:14Speaker 2: truly godly prophets will get a strong word for somebody
- 20:17Speaker 2: and struggle on how they deliver it or even give it.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So a message can sound powerful, but it can still
- 20:29Speaker 2: be false. A preacher can be charismatic and still be
- 20:34Speaker 2: wrong in his message. A Christian artist can have talent,
- 20:39Speaker 2: And still communicate something that needs to be examined against scripture.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And a podcast host can speak passionately while still making
- 20:55Speaker 2: a mistake. I see it all the time. I see
- 21:01Speaker 2: it where people stray away from scripture, even though they
- 21:06Speaker 2: started off faithful. and started out strong. This also includes me.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Don't accept something simply because I'm the one saying it.
- 21:22Speaker 2: That's why I tell you to get your Bibles, your notepads,
- 21:25Speaker 2: and your highlighters and examine what I say. Be like
- 21:31Speaker 2: the Bereans, right? They searched the scripture to see if
- 21:34Speaker 2: it was so. even the very words from Paul, the
- 21:38Speaker 2: apostle himself, right? And if there's a question or a misunderstanding,
- 21:45Speaker 2: bring the question to me. That's why I tell people,
- 21:48Speaker 2: let's go to the live chat. Let's hold each other accountable.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Let's work over the word together, right? So the goal
- 22:00Speaker 2: is not just to defend a personality. Our goal is
- 22:04Speaker 2: to follow Jesus. And our goal is to remain faithful
- 22:09Speaker 2: to the word of Jesus. This is God's work. This
- 22:14Speaker 2: is God's church. The church will be here. The gospel
- 22:17Speaker 2: will be here once I'm long gone. Amen. This is
- 22:22Speaker 2: bigger than me. This is greater than just me. This
- 22:25Speaker 2: is his heart and his heart nation. This is all
- 22:29Speaker 2: about Jesus and being faithful to his word. And a
- 22:37Speaker 2: lot of people, in honest truth, there's a lot of
- 22:39Speaker 2: people don't even know about Club His Hop or Mr.
- 22:42Speaker 2: His Hop. There's a lot of people that don't even
- 22:46Speaker 2: vibe to my music. I put out music. A lot
- 22:49Speaker 2: of people listening to this podcast probably don't know that
- 22:53Speaker 2: I started off as a Christian hip hop artist. And
- 22:58Speaker 2: I haven't put out music in a while. Now, I
- 23:00Speaker 2: think a lot of it is a struggle because you
- 23:02Speaker 2: can always grow and improve. And things like that. So
- 23:08Speaker 2: some of that, I believe, is disobedience on my part.
- 23:11Speaker 2: And I pray that God will help me to fulfill that.
- 23:17Speaker 2: But I believe for the most part, people follow this
- 23:21Speaker 2: podcast because of the word of the Lord. And they
- 23:27Speaker 2: are growing deeper in their relationship with God, not necessarily
- 23:31Speaker 2: because they want to hear from Mr. His heart. Verse
- 23:40Speaker 2: 33 and 34 says, don't use God's word as a prop, right?
- 23:47Speaker 2: These verses addresses the phrase, the burden of the Lord. Now,
- 23:56Speaker 2: in the new King James is the bird. I mean,
- 23:59Speaker 2: not the old King James is the burden of the Lord.
- 24:04Speaker 2: This is what they would say. So let me go back.
- 24:10Speaker 2: And read it real quick. Verse 33. So when these
- 24:14Speaker 2: people or the prophets or the priests ask you, saying,
- 24:17Speaker 2: what is the oracle of the Lord? You shall then
- 24:23Speaker 2: say to them, what oracle? All right. Hold on. Bear
- 24:33Speaker 2: with me for a second because this is important. Uh.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Let's go to the King James on this. Verse 23. No,
- 24:54Speaker 2: not 23. 33. Behold, I am against them that prophesy
- 25:01Speaker 2: false dreams, says the Lord. And do tell them and
- 25:06Speaker 2: cause my people to err by their lies, by their
- 25:14Speaker 2: likeness yet I sent them not nor communicated nor commanded
- 25:21Speaker 2: them therefore they shall not profit this people at all
- 25:26Speaker 2: says the Lord and when this people or the prophet
- 25:29Speaker 2: or the priest shall ask thee saying what is the
- 25:33Speaker 2: burden of the Lord there's the new King James thou
- 25:37Speaker 2: shall then say unto them what burden I will even
- 25:41Speaker 2: forsake you, says the Lord. Wow. And as for the
- 25:45Speaker 2: prophet and the priest and the people that shall say
- 25:50Speaker 2: the burden of the Lord, I will even punish that
- 25:54Speaker 2: man and his household. Thus shall he say everyone to
- 26:00Speaker 2: his neighbor, everyone to his brother, what have the Lord
- 26:04Speaker 2: answered and what has the Lord spoken? I'm going to
- 26:11Speaker 2: go a little further. I know we're only doing five
- 26:13Speaker 2: verses on the podcast. Then the burden of the Lord
- 26:17Speaker 2: shall ye mention no more. For every man's word shall
- 26:21Speaker 2: be his burden. For ye have perverted the words of
- 26:26Speaker 2: the living God, of the Lord of hosts, our God.
- 26:32Speaker 2: So the Lord didn't like, it's like a catchphrase, the
- 26:35Speaker 2: burden of the Lord. The burden of the Lord is
- 26:38Speaker 2: what they were saying. And the Lord was like, you
- 26:40Speaker 2: will not keep using this. He got tired of the
- 26:44Speaker 2: phrase burden of the Lord. And he was to the
- 26:49Speaker 2: point where he would even wanted to punish the prophet
- 26:54Speaker 2: that used that catchphrase. Now, remember, Jesus says that my
- 26:59Speaker 2: yoke is easy and my burden is light. And he
- 27:05Speaker 2: did not. I mean, it just is more to me
- 27:09Speaker 2: is stronger in the old King James. When it comes
- 27:13Speaker 2: to these passages. All right. So 33 and 34.
- 27:24Speaker 6: Now.
- 27:24Speaker 2: See. See. God turns the phrase back on them as
- 27:38Speaker 2: a warning of judgment. The false prophets and those just
- 27:42Speaker 2: using this language would be held accountable. Now, the passage
- 27:49Speaker 2: isn't really teaching that every use of the word burden
- 27:54Speaker 2: is wrong necessarily. But the issue is that the way
- 27:58Speaker 2: people were using religious language is In a setting where
- 28:04Speaker 2: God's judgment had been ignored and his message misinterpreted. Now,
- 28:17Speaker 2: check this out. Sometimes people use religious language to sound
- 28:21Speaker 2: authoritative without being faithful. Our hearts can be so deceptive.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Faithfulness is so important. Now they may use such phrases
- 28:35Speaker 2: as God told me or the Lord revealed it to me.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Or thus says the Lord to make people accept what
- 28:44Speaker 2: they're saying without testing it. Especially if you have a
- 28:52Speaker 2: microphone in your hand, right? And this has happened to me. Personally,
- 29:02Speaker 2: this has happened to me. You know, it's easy to
- 29:04Speaker 2: get caught up in something like this, even in church.
- 29:10Speaker 2: But we must not treat God's name like a tool
- 29:14Speaker 2: for winning an argument. We should never use spiritual language
- 29:18Speaker 2: to manipulate people, build our own reputation, or make our
- 29:24Speaker 2: opinions impossible to question. I tell you all the time,
- 29:32Speaker 2: this is my opinion. You can take it or leave it, right?
- 29:36Speaker 2: When it comes to that, for the most part, I
- 29:37Speaker 2: try to stick close to the word. But if I
- 29:40Speaker 2: do have an opinion, hey, this is my opinion. I'm
- 29:44Speaker 2: very careful with that. And I've told people, you know,
- 29:56Speaker 2: where I get my material from, you know, Pastor Chuck Smith,
- 30:02Speaker 2: a great teacher. He can go further and deeper into
- 30:06Speaker 2: a lot of, he teaches chapter by chapter, verse by verse.
- 30:10Speaker 2: And I've, I'll always be, my heart will always be
- 30:13Speaker 2: with Calvary Chapel because they brought me out of a
- 30:16Speaker 2: Christian occult. And I believe that's the best way to,
- 30:21Speaker 2: to receive a message, to grow. I believe preaching is necessary,
- 30:26Speaker 2: but at one point you have to be taught to
- 30:28Speaker 2: really spiritually grow. Now, verse 85, ask what the Lord
- 30:35Speaker 2: has really spoken. Jeremiah 23, verse 25 tells the people
- 30:44Speaker 2: to ask one another, what has the Lord answered? What
- 30:49Speaker 2: has the Lord spoken? Now, the focus returns to the
- 30:54Speaker 2: question that matters. What has God actually said? Not what
- 31:01Speaker 2: is popular today. What's trending on the internet are not
- 31:08Speaker 2: what we wish, he said, and not what someone claims
- 31:13Speaker 2: that he says. What has the Lord spoken? That's a
- 31:21Speaker 2: great verse to write down, right? And to memorize. This
- 31:25Speaker 2: is the right question right here for every Christian. When
- 31:28Speaker 2: you hear a sermon, ask what scripture is he teaching
- 31:41Speaker 2: when we hear a prophetic claim examine it carefully when
- 31:48Speaker 2: you listen to a Christian musician or watch a Christian
- 31:53Speaker 2: video pay attention to the message Do not judge, I repeat,
- 32:01Speaker 2: do not judge everything by your feelings. If it makes
- 32:04Speaker 2: you feel happy or gives you warm, fuzzy feelings or
- 32:07Speaker 2: the burning in the bosom, that is not the authority
- 32:12Speaker 2: for truth. That is us leaning to our own understanding.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I mean, our feelings matter, but they are not the
- 32:21Speaker 2: final authority when it comes to Christian doctrine, when it
- 32:25Speaker 2: comes to the Bible. So we need to read the
- 32:32Speaker 2: passage in the context. We can compare the teaching with
- 32:38Speaker 2: the rest of scripture. Be willing to learn and be
- 32:44Speaker 2: willing to correct your understanding when the Bible shows you
- 32:48Speaker 2: something different. Our responsibility is not merely to repeat what
- 32:55Speaker 2: we hear. It's to seek what God has actually said.
- 33:02Speaker 2: And I learned this the hard way, beloved. Amen. I
- 33:09Speaker 2: grew up in a church fellowship where the pastor took
- 33:14Speaker 2: the authority to say, you know what? If you are
- 33:19Speaker 2: looking for the will of God in your life, come
- 33:22Speaker 2: to me as your pastor. It was a shepherding doctrine.
- 33:26Speaker 2: And as your pastor, I will go and pray for
- 33:28Speaker 2: you and come back to you and give you guys answers.
- 33:31Speaker 2: That's like a mediator. Instead of the pastor bringing you
- 33:36Speaker 2: to Jesus and showing you how to hear from Jesus yourself,
- 33:40Speaker 2: showing you how to search the scriptures yourself. Yeah, they
- 33:45Speaker 2: preached about the Bible, but they didn't really take you
- 33:49Speaker 2: through the Bible like we're doing on this podcast. So
- 33:54Speaker 2: someone came to me and said, hey, um, What is
- 33:58Speaker 2: the will of God for my life? I'm looking to
- 34:01Speaker 2: marry this girl. I would give them biblical scriptures. I
- 34:05Speaker 2: would say, is she in love with Jesus? Does she
- 34:07Speaker 2: love Jesus more than you? Do she obey the word?
- 34:12Speaker 2: Is she willing to be submissive and supportive as a wife?
- 34:16Speaker 2: Or does she have an attitude, a nasty tone? And
- 34:20Speaker 2: then I would tell them to pray about it. And
- 34:23Speaker 2: I'll pray with you, but you pray about it. And
- 34:27Speaker 2: even if I pray and I get a word and
- 34:30Speaker 2: I give it to him, I would say, OK, does
- 34:33Speaker 2: this word confirm what the Lord already spoke to you?
- 34:38Speaker 2: Or maybe the Lord hasn't revealed it to you yet.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Don't just take my word. I need you to pray
- 34:45Speaker 2: and confirm that this is actually what God has said.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Instead of I'm your pastor and no, you cannot marry
- 34:54Speaker 2: this woman or yes. Married his woman. God told me,
- 34:57Speaker 2: this is your wife. That is dangerous. And that is
- 35:01Speaker 2: what happened to me. I need to write a book.
- 35:04Speaker 2: My first marriage was my pastor telling me to marry
- 35:11Speaker 2: a stranger. I had known her for only three months.
- 35:14Speaker 2: And my pastor and another pastor in another church was
- 35:20Speaker 2: rushing us to be married. And needless to say, that was...
- 35:26Speaker 2: horrible a horrible experience this is one of the reasons
- 35:31Speaker 2: why I do verse by verse chapter by chapter because
- 35:35Speaker 2: people out there can manipulate and basically ruin your life
- 35:43Speaker 2: because they want to be the authority that only God
- 35:48Speaker 2: can occupy in your life only scripture can so please
- 35:53Speaker 2: be careful I had to learn this in a painful
- 35:55Speaker 2: way I was in that marriage for 13 years and
- 36:00Speaker 2: every day was hard. It was horrible. I have three
- 36:04Speaker 2: children from that marriage that when I finally got out
- 36:08Speaker 2: of it, I have three boys and I have a
- 36:13Speaker 2: strained relationship with them because I had to take time
- 36:15Speaker 2: to heal and recover. I am in a second marriage
- 36:21Speaker 2: now trying to build what was torn down from the
- 36:27Speaker 2: first one And I do have children in this marriage
- 36:31Speaker 2: and I do not have a relationship with my children
- 36:36Speaker 2: from the first marriage. So please, please keep me in prayer.
- 36:40Speaker 2: But I'm just trying to give you an example of
- 36:42Speaker 2: when people speak to you and using God's name, but
- 36:49Speaker 2: God did not give them the message that they gave you.
- 36:54Speaker 2: This is my life and my heart. And now you
- 36:56Speaker 2: see the passion. Behind his automation in verse by verse.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Because when we know God's word. We will be equipped.
- 37:07Speaker 2: To where we will not be deceived so easily. Amen.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Or even not deceived at all. So don't just repeat
- 37:17Speaker 2: what you hear from teachers and pastors. It's okay to
- 37:23Speaker 2: seek God. and to seek out what God actually says. So,
- 37:31Speaker 2: all right, let me get off of my soapbox here. Amen.
- 37:37Speaker 2: So the big lesson today is don't misrepresent God's word.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Never present someone else's idea or your own opinions as
- 37:47Speaker 2: a direct message from God without a truthful basis. don't
- 37:55Speaker 2: lead people away from scripture a spiritual sounding message is
- 38:01Speaker 2: not automatically a biblical one and ask what God has
- 38:08Speaker 2: actually said read scripture and its context examine every prophetic
- 38:18Speaker 2: word carefully and also remain teachable Be willing to change
- 38:27Speaker 2: your opinion, change your thoughts, change what you think when
- 38:33Speaker 2: scripture corrects your thinking. Amen. God takes his word seriously
- 38:40Speaker 2: and anyone who teaches it, we need to do the same. Amen.
- 38:45Speaker 2: All right, beloved. Let's take a break.
- 38:53Speaker 6: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 38:57Speaker 6: is the HizHop Radio Show.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Minor. Cannon. Vigilante.
- 39:07Speaker 3: I go to work for my dogs so they know
- 39:08Speaker 3: that it's bigger than me.
- 39:10Speaker 6: It's bigger than me.
- 39:11Speaker 4: I can knock what I want for cause I know
- 39:13Speaker 4: they depending on me.

- 39:33Speaker 2: Bigger than me. I might get brushed up, but I
- 39:36Speaker 2: cannot fall.
- 39:40Speaker 4: It's too much going on, God gon' flip us Upside
- 39:46Speaker 4: down till we look like his image, his spirit is
- 39:49Speaker 4: in us, his spirit is in us If God told
- 39:51Speaker 4: me put my heart in this, guess where I'm living?
- 39:53Speaker 2: Ain't no more purr.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Start a hustle in the morning from sunup to sundown,
- 40:06Speaker 4: it's business. Manage the village. I'm a soldier, one of
- 40:09Speaker 4: the realest. Can't get caught up with no civilians. Gonna
- 40:11Speaker 4: watch how I live it. Shifting my perspective, sport out
- 40:14Speaker 4: them trenches. My mind on the vision, best not get
- 40:16Speaker 4: it twisted.
- 40:16Speaker 3: I throw up for my dogs so they know that
- 40:18Speaker 3: it's bigger than me.
- 40:21Speaker 4: I cannot quit, I won't vote cause I know they
- 40:23Speaker 4: depending on me.
- 40:24Speaker 6: I had to.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Go talk to God cause I know I can't do
- 40:27Speaker 3: it alone. I might get brushed up, but how can
- 40:34Speaker 3: I be?
- 40:51Speaker 5: Bigger than me, man, it's way bigger Told the devil, peace,
- 40:54Speaker 5: I'm with the grave digger Mobbing with my God in
- 40:56Speaker 5: any type of weather Peter type of faith, the holy
- 40:59Speaker 5: wave ripper But it's bigger than Bruno New type of
- 41:02Speaker 5: blessing when God's in the temple Fought by the blood.
- 41:04Speaker 6: I can't move like.
- 41:05Speaker 5: A rental Changing my mental, spiritual purpose A whole different wrestle, my.
- 41:09Speaker 3: God Trying to be like the sun, I'ma lay down
- 41:11Speaker 3: my life for the people That the day to come,
- 41:13Speaker 3: I'ma reach them You lost, put your burdens on me
- 41:15Speaker 3: We gon' put them on God, we gon' get to
- 41:17Speaker 3: our fiat And I can't let nobody make him a
- 41:20Speaker 3: lie He said every.
- 41:20Speaker 5: Need that we need We got these supplies, so I'm
- 41:22Speaker 5: up for hoping these prices for people that need it.
- 41:25Speaker 2: To prove that it's bigger than me.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I go to work for my dogs so they know
- 41:28Speaker 3: that it's bigger than me.
- 41:29Speaker 4: I can knock what I want for cause I know
- 41:32Speaker 4: they depending on me.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I had to go talk to God cause I know
- 41:37Speaker 2: I can't do it alone.
- 41:38Speaker 3: We done went down way too long so you know
- 41:41Speaker 3: we gon' stay till the come.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I can't give.
- 41:46Speaker 4: Up because you're bigger than me.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I got this love and she's bigger than me.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:55Speaker 2: I might get brushed up.
- 42:20Speaker 6: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 42:23Speaker 6: is the His Hop Radio Show.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yo, yo, we are back from the break. That is
- 42:45Speaker 2: our brother, Derek Minor, bigger than me. As our musical
- 42:50Speaker 2: guest today. Hey, if you want to submit music and
- 42:55Speaker 2: you want us to use it on the podcast, I
- 42:59Speaker 2: always mention, I guess I can go ahead and mention
- 43:02Speaker 2: it right now. I always mention that his radio is
- 43:05Speaker 2: monitored in a reporting radio station. We do have a
- 43:08Speaker 2: radio chart and we do reports. We do monitor. And
- 43:14Speaker 2: if you want to submit music, go to our website, HisHotNation.com
- 43:19Speaker 2: and hit the submit tab. Without all the info, we've
- 43:22Speaker 2: gotten a lot of submissions lately and we appreciate all that.
- 43:26Speaker 2: We're going to go through the music. We do have
- 43:29Speaker 2: a DJ pool where if it doesn't make it on
- 43:31Speaker 2: the radio station, we can submit it to our pool
- 43:36Speaker 2: and let us know. Actually, I'll probably set up the
- 43:42Speaker 2: forum to add another question. If you would, if you
- 43:46Speaker 2: would like for us to play your song during the podcast,
- 43:50Speaker 2: and that way we'll know you can submit to us directly.
- 43:53Speaker 2: You could be a part of our musical break. You
- 43:56Speaker 2: can be part of the, is our family. Why not?
- 44:02Speaker 2: And so that was Derek minor. Also, I want to
- 44:04Speaker 2: give a shout out to our brother zone three, our
- 44:07Speaker 2: brother current, everyone who has come through and said was
- 44:10Speaker 2: up in the live chat. And I want to thank
- 44:13Speaker 2: everyone who gave me a shout out for my birthday.
- 44:17Speaker 2: I appreciate y'all. God bless. God is. We're still celebrating.
- 44:22Speaker 2: It's still my birthday month. Right? The whole month I
- 44:26Speaker 2: get to celebrate my birthday, y'all. And God has blessed
- 44:30Speaker 2: me with another year. I will not take that for granted.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Thank you, Father. I pray that you guys are getting
- 44:38Speaker 2: blessed by this podcast and everything we put out. as
- 44:43Speaker 2: an organization, as a ministry. Now it's time for our
- 44:50Speaker 2: accountability partner segment. This is where the fellowship really pays off.
- 44:57Speaker 2: The Bible says that we shall not follow the evil
- 45:01Speaker 2: dictates of our own hearts. See, we are dangerous if
- 45:06Speaker 2: we are left to our own selves. That's why We
- 45:09Speaker 2: have to study the word, renew our minds, and submit
- 45:13Speaker 2: and do the word. Amen. And God's spirit will empower
- 45:18Speaker 2: us and help us. We need God's help to walk
- 45:21Speaker 2: a life of faithfulness. And so it's good to have
- 45:24Speaker 2: people in your life that can hold you accountable, that
- 45:27Speaker 2: they can see in your heart and compare it to Scripture.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Not their own preference, not their own opinion, but to
- 45:36Speaker 2: Scripture itself. To say that this brother is not God's will.
- 45:40Speaker 2: You need to get rid of the bitterness. You need
- 45:42Speaker 2: to forgive your lusting. It's not right for you to
- 45:46Speaker 2: cheat on your wife or it's not right for you
- 45:49Speaker 2: to talk to another man's wife. It's not right for
- 45:53Speaker 2: you to steal from your job. It's not right for
- 45:56Speaker 2: you to, you know, we need people that will correct
- 46:00Speaker 2: this and rebuke us and help us to stay up
- 46:04Speaker 2: on the path of righteousness.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Amen.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Amen. So that's what we do right here on the
- 46:09Speaker 2: His Hop radio podcast. We have this segment. I have
- 46:13Speaker 2: known people. I see my brothers and sisters. They go
- 46:18Speaker 2: to the altar at church and they confess the same
- 46:23Speaker 2: sin over and over again. I believe what they're missing
- 46:27Speaker 2: is accountability. A brother that says, hey, stop doing that.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Stop looking at porn. Stop this. How are you doing
- 46:35Speaker 2: in this area? Are you growing? What's going on? And
- 46:41Speaker 2: I believe the people who do the work and the
- 46:44Speaker 2: people who really take it serious are the people who
- 46:47Speaker 2: actually make it to the kingdom. A lot of us
- 46:50Speaker 2: think that this is a game. We think our relationship
- 46:53Speaker 2: with God is a game. The Bible says fools mock
- 46:57Speaker 2: at sin. We think sin is a game. People are
- 46:59Speaker 2: real careless of how they live. But they're going to
- 47:03Speaker 2: realize how serious life truly was when we meet God
- 47:08Speaker 2: face to face on that faithful day of judgment. So
- 47:12Speaker 2: now is the time to get prepared. Now is the
- 47:15Speaker 2: time to do that. And so that's why we have
- 47:18Speaker 2: the accountability partner here. And we give you a challenge.
- 47:22Speaker 2: So I hope you guys are doing it. Call your
- 47:24Speaker 2: accountability partner and we give you suggestions on some topics
- 47:29Speaker 2: to talk about. And so today's episode, the challenge is
- 47:36Speaker 2: to sit down with your accountability partner and ask, have
- 47:40Speaker 2: I repeated something about God without checking whether it's actually
- 47:46Speaker 2: supported by scripture? Let me ask it again. Have I
- 47:51Speaker 2: repeated something about God without actually checking if it is
- 47:59Speaker 2: truly supported Now, if the answer is yes, don't be
- 48:08Speaker 2: ashamed to correct it. Look up the passage, examine the
- 48:11Speaker 2: text and be willing to admit where you were mistaken. Amen.
- 48:21Speaker 2: So accountability isn't about pretending we never get things wrong.
- 48:29Speaker 2: It's about helping each other grow in truth, humility, and obedience. Hallelujah. Well,
- 48:39Speaker 2: I've already mentioned this hot radio as submitting your music
- 48:45Speaker 2: to us. So let's go ahead and go over to
- 48:48Speaker 2: the Bible trivia. Amen. This is where we can have
- 48:54Speaker 2: a little fun. I appreciate my brother Zone 3 holding
- 48:59Speaker 2: it down as the trivia champion. And also getting the
- 49:07Speaker 2: answers correctly. And I'm just excited that my brother is learning,
- 49:15Speaker 2: growing deeper in his knowledge and understanding of the world.
- 49:20Speaker 2: But we also invite everyone else to take part of it.
- 49:26Speaker 2: So just download the app, log into our live chat
- 49:31Speaker 2: or into our community so that you can take part
- 49:35Speaker 2: in this. And so the question for today and the
- 49:38Speaker 2: one that gets it right And the one that answers
- 49:42Speaker 2: the first answer is a trivia champion for today. So
- 49:47Speaker 2: the question is, according to these verses, what three specific
- 49:55Speaker 2: actions by the false prophets did the Lord condemn? So
- 50:01Speaker 2: what three specific actions by the false prophets did the
- 50:07Speaker 2: Lord condemn? In today's episode. Amen. Alright. It's time for
- 50:18Speaker 2: the community shout out. I have an event. Coming up
- 50:23Speaker 2: towards the end of the month. I'll be working with
- 50:25Speaker 2: the church. And with Metro. Police department. They're going to
- 50:31Speaker 2: do a trunk or treat. Now I'm not. An advocate
- 50:35Speaker 2: of Halloween. Halloween. I do not dress up as ghosts
- 50:39Speaker 2: and goblins, and I don't participate in this at all,
- 50:45Speaker 2: but I do believe when people gather, there's always an
- 50:48Speaker 2: opportunity to evangelize. There's not one setting where we cannot
- 50:54Speaker 2: shine the light or be salt or preach the word,
- 50:57Speaker 2: and so I will be there preaching the word, representing
- 51:02Speaker 2: the kingdom, and And if you want to come out
- 51:07Speaker 2: and pray and help us, support us, we will post
- 51:11Speaker 2: a flyer on the website. You'll have the date, the
- 51:16Speaker 2: time and address because I don't know it off the
- 51:18Speaker 2: top of my head. I still got to post it.
- 51:21Speaker 2: I'm going to try to post it later today. And
- 51:26Speaker 2: also we have a brand new comic strip coming out.
- 51:29Speaker 2: If you have been familiar with our other comic strips,
- 51:33Speaker 2: we came out with The Rise of K.J., It was
- 51:36Speaker 2: our first one. And I'm learning how to illustrate how
- 51:40Speaker 2: to use these AI tools to get better with the
- 51:43Speaker 2: illustration of these comics. The second one was drawn away.
- 51:48Speaker 2: That was these are actual stories. Now, I'll tell you
- 51:50Speaker 2: a secret. A lot of these stories I get from
- 51:55Speaker 2: real life experience. And my heart is to get people's
- 52:00Speaker 2: testimonies and turn them into comics so people can download
- 52:04Speaker 2: the app and read them. So, Drawn Away was a
- 52:10Speaker 2: situation that actually happened in my family. My stepdaughter ran
- 52:14Speaker 2: away a couple of times. She was going through a situation.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Praise God, she was safe and she made it back home. So,
- 52:22Speaker 2: if you read the comic, the Drawn Away comic, it
- 52:27Speaker 2: comes with the family devotion and scripture and we compare
- 52:31Speaker 2: it with scripture. Basically, you know, if she were to
- 52:35Speaker 2: be faithful to the word of God, what different choices
- 52:39Speaker 2: should she have made things like that I think is
- 52:42Speaker 2: beneficial the latest one is the mommy monster mommy monster
- 52:49Speaker 2: this highlights challenges that we have in marriage challenges that
- 52:54Speaker 2: we have with a mother who may be a little
- 52:58Speaker 2: on the aggressive side in the things that they can
- 53:03Speaker 2: struggle with as far as the children in marriage and

- 54:54Speaker 2: of today's episode but if we examine right the bible
- 55:02Speaker 2: says examine the word Jeremiah 23 and we go through
- 55:07Speaker 2: verses 30 through 35. I believe that God is telling
- 55:12Speaker 2: us God is not pleased when people misuse his name
- 55:19Speaker 2: or twist his messages. We must be careful about what
- 55:23Speaker 2: we teach, what we repeat and what we accept as truth.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Don't follow a message just because it sounds spiritual. Don't
- 55:34Speaker 2: believe a claim just because someone says, God told me.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Open the Bible. Examine the message. Seek what the Lord
- 55:44Speaker 2: has actually spoken. Amen. You will avoid my issue that
- 55:52Speaker 2: I had that I struggle. I'm still recovering from it.
- 55:56Speaker 2: So please keep me in prayer. Amen. God is faithful.
- 56:00Speaker 2: His word is faithful. I've come a long way. But
- 56:04Speaker 2: I'm asking you to pray for my children from my
- 56:07Speaker 2: first marriage. Pray for my children in my current marriage
- 56:11Speaker 2: as well. You know, we need to just pray for
- 56:13Speaker 2: our children in general. Pray for reconciliation in my family
- 56:18Speaker 2: for healing. And I know that God is still working
- 56:23Speaker 2: it out. I'm going to close it out. Love it.
- 56:27Speaker 2: It's not about us. It's all about the Christ in us.
