- 0:00Time out for back to the basics and healthcare with Balanced Life Chiropractic, and
- 0:03we have doctor Harley with us. How you doing, doctor Harley? Hey,
- 0:06John, I am trying to keep it cool on. God, it's
- 0:08getting a little bit cooler. Yeah, it got very warm outside, didn't
- 0:12it. Yeah, And our AC wasn't working in the office earlier this week,
- 0:15so it's nice that it's cooling off now. Yeah. Absolutely, And
- 0:19we had some outside projects we were doing. You know, we waited until
- 0:23it was almost one hundred degrees to do there, so of course that's usually
- 0:25when that happens. So we talked a little bit last week about Balance Life
- 0:29Chiropractic, but let's talk today about the torque technique that you guys ulilize,
- 0:34because that's not something that every chiropractor uses, is it. Yeah. So
- 0:37yeah, last week we talked a little bit more about our office. You
- 0:39know, we see a lot of families and kiddos. We also use some
- 0:42technology, and then our technique is more based on the nervous system. It's
- 0:48called tonal chiropractic adjusting. If you're familiar with the different types of adjusting,
- 0:51you know, there's structural which is like the manual snap, crackle, pop,
- 0:55trying to move bones. Tonal is looking more at your nervous system and
- 0:58helping to facilitate a nerve response. So our nerves, you know, they
- 1:03run at a certain frequency, and when they get off that frequency, it's
- 1:07going to cause some static in the system. We're gonna have some problems.
- 1:11So the kind of idea of tonal adjusting is it's going to help break up
- 1:15that static and get back to the proper frequency of the nervous system is supposed
- 1:19to be running on, helping to calm down the irritability in the system.
- 1:23If that makes sense to you, Yeah, absolutely, And I would say
- 1:26your technique seems to be very precise, and there's even some instrumentation that is
- 1:30involved. Yeah, So there's different types of tonal adjusting. This one that
- 1:34we use is called torque release technique. So torque would be twisting, so
- 1:38in a big sense it's untwisting of the spinal canal and the nervous system.
- 1:42All it's really just helping to calm down the nervous system and get it so
- 1:47it's not quite so irritable, and it is kind of more about precision.
- 1:49It's less is more when it comes with our nervous system, so we might
- 1:53not have adjusted as much as you're like, oh, snapman like a girlowstick.
- 1:56You always hear see those memes on Facebook. Sometimes when you do too
- 2:00much, it can overload and overwhelm your nervous system and it might seem like,
- 2:04oh, that adjustment didn't seem like it held or it didn't do anything
- 2:07where With tonal where because we're kind of even less is more. If you
- 2:09think of like a computer that has too many windows open, it starts getting
- 2:14slow and sluggish and it's not working very well. With torque release and tonal
- 2:17chiropractic adjusting, we're kind of like closing each tab each time, so we're
- 2:23slowly working on calment down versus just forcing close the whole thing. Yeah,
- 2:27so it's yeah, less is more, And to me, it's almost like,
- 2:30you know, if you're working on a Swiss watch, you know this
- 2:34amazing time piece, you would use a delicate tool for that. You wouldn't
- 2:37say I'm going to just smack it with a rubber mallet until that thing goes
- 2:39back into place. But there are some places where I feel like that's kind
- 2:43of what they do, right. It just kind of you know, there's
- 2:46over two hundred some chiropractic techniques out there, and it feelings like chiropractic is
- 2:51kind of like trying on shoes. You got to figure out what works best
- 2:53for you. You know, the regular manual adjusting works great for a lot
- 2:58of people, some people might not like it quite that. So this is
- 3:00a little bit more of a gentle adjustment. But it's more about quality of
- 3:04change versus Sometimes I feel like manual justin can be like a lot of change,
- 3:07like trying to make a lot of change really fast, versus totals more
- 3:10about we're trying to make long term change. If somebody listening is going,
- 3:14hey, you know what that sounds like, it's the right fit for me.
- 3:16If they've been looking for chiropractic care, maybe they haven't found that yet,
- 3:21or maybe they found something that they're going, well, I guess this
- 3:23kind of works for now, but it's not really what I'm looking for.
- 3:24If they would like to reach out to you at Balance Life Chiropractic, what's
- 3:28the best way for them to set an appointment and kind of get things started.
