- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Unleashing Kingdom Voices.
- 0:02Speaker 1: I'm so glad you could be here.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm Teresa Croft and it's Thursday or at least it's Thursday when I'm recording and we call that tea on Thursday, so I want to drop a hello that I did on when I'm tea on Tuesday and Michelle Tuffin's great group.
- 0:18Speaker 1: You got to check this group out.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Let me make sure I get the name right here.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It is full of Christian women Love Jesus.
- 0:26Speaker 1: It's called Christian Women in Business Networking Group, dash, collaboration and Competition.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I'm part of Michelle Tuffin's team, as you gave me a chance to speak on Tuesday and I talked about what did you like to do when you were young, and I gave an example of my life which leads up to this episode being brought to you by the Kingdom Speaking Academy, brought to you by Girl Power Alliance.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's coming up, so I want you to be aware of this so you can jump in before it starts and you miss out.
- 0:59Speaker 1: So what is it?
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's expert led training.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You've got four coaches that are going to lead you.
- 1:05Speaker 1: It's nine, nine weeks online and then we go live.
- 1:08Speaker 1: If you want to a stage in LA, it's.
- 1:11Speaker 1: The stage is already finding your stage there it is, but you can learn from seasoned speakers.
- 1:17Speaker 1: There's great curriculum, so you don't have to wonder.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It helps that.
- 1:20Speaker 1: What do I really talk about?
- 1:21Speaker 1: You can dive into a range of topics and be able to find that you get a supportive community from nine weeks to a little Zoom cubes you see everyone to the actual scenario of being on stage and, of course, what's really involved is this personal transformation that you're called to speak.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Right, I see you.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I know this gives you a chance to not just develop your skill, but also it's a personal growth.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I went last year, I'm going to go this year and I'll tell you what.
- 1:54Speaker 1: It was the first time that I worked on a.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Worked on a, I guess what he called a speaking format and sharing a story.
- 2:06Speaker 1: My story was the whole thing I threw up on stage.
- 2:09Speaker 1: What do I mean by that?
- 2:10Speaker 1: I had everything and anything that affected me in the last 26, 27 years, but this year I'm going because I want to refine it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I want to be able to really be able to hit the mark.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So this episode is brought to you by that.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So, without further ado, I'm going to just share my welcome that I gave to the Christian Networking group.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It's enjoying that Michelle Tuffer is just leading an excellent group, but this is how I opened it up and I thought I would include it in here.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So hello there.
- 2:48Speaker 1: My name's Sarisa Croft.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm part of Michelle Tuffer's team here at the best group on Facebook and I'm so excited to have just a few moments.
- 2:58Speaker 1: See, I'm making myself be short in words because I go live at 11 in prayer time, so, listen, I like to ask this question.
- 3:07Speaker 1: By the way, I'm Teresa Croft.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I'm a former radio announcer in marketing since 2009.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Love video, love rails.
- 3:15Speaker 1: If you watch that reel down there, that's not my normal reel singing, but I love connecting with you guys.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Some of you have gotten to connect personally and it's been really awesome.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But I want to talk about something real quick.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Do you ever wonder am I doing the right thing?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Or why this just isn't lighting me up?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Like I say, in business, you're did a business, you're in a business, you're like, yeah, this is what I need to do, this is what I'm supposed to do.
- 3:46Speaker 1: But let me ask you a question and this I think, based on what I've asked people and seeing what they're doing now, truly fully in their identity, I see that what they did when they played in their younger age had a lot to do with what they're doing now.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So let me get to a stage like there's threads to your identity.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So threads to my identity.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Can I just tell a little story?
- 4:15Speaker 1: When I was really young we lived in this old house and they had these big steps.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Well, maybe they weren't big, but to a six, seven year old they were huge and my idea of fun was climbing up those steps and preaching.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I was Catholic.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It was a good homily.
- 4:34Speaker 1: In that same old house I'm going to date myself.
- 4:37Speaker 1: My dad brought home what was then modern technology a tape recorder and a mic.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It was not a Walkman, so I'm really dating myself and that was just like Marvel technology.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I would sneak when my dad left for work.
- 4:52Speaker 1: He hid it under the bed, but I knew where it was.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I'd sneak it into my room and I would just talk into that thing and listen to my voice over and over.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I was working on my comedy act.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I thought it was really funny.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And then I had four brothers.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Each of them came to me separately and said Teresa, the only one who's laughing is mom.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So maybe I ditched the comedy act.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It's career surfacing in my 60s, but anyway, I'm only 60, teresa, so that was something that was lying in my DNA.
- 5:28Speaker 1: My idea of fun was talking into a microphone, just a note.
- 5:32Speaker 1: We later moved to a house that only had two steps.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I was like a member one day, playing.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I was like just two steps.
- 5:39Speaker 1: This isn't working for me.
- 5:41Speaker 1: But I noticed an apple cart.
- 5:43Speaker 1: So I tipped that apple cart the lengthways got up on that wobbly thing.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I had accepted Jesus now, so I really did.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I prayed to the birds, the bees and the apple trees.
- 5:54Speaker 1: They needed Jesus.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So that was wired apple cart.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Since 2008, I've opened an Apple product, from a computer to a MacBook Pro, to a phone with filters, of course, apple phone speaking what God has given me being able to speak.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So this is the deal, I think, as God wires that into your DNA.
- 6:25Speaker 1: By the way, I became a professional golfer.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I was a really good.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I was all American collegiate and I thought if I could just play good enough, I'd have a platform to approach.
- 6:36Speaker 1: The crash had burned after three years as a pro.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 6:42Speaker 1: What did God do?
- 6:43Speaker 1: God, god, god.
- 6:45Speaker 1: He closed his eyes and said Theresa, you're going to get into a radio station.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And it was funny because I just happened to give my demo tape and there were.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I didn't see the advertisement.
- 6:58Speaker 1: If I would have saw the advertisement I wouldn't have applied because it said two years experience.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I gave it a tape that I used to make for my friends on the golf tour called the KYSS radio station speaking in a microphone music.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That was my demo tape to get into a radio station where for 15 and a half years I got paid to speak to pray on the air.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So what is in your DNA?
- 7:26Speaker 1: What do you feel like when you're played?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Now listen, I understand, I get it.
- 7:32Speaker 1: You might have had a real traumatic childhood.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I am so sorry, but it's not lost.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I have a friend who had a brain injury at three years old.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Do you know what she's doing today?
- 7:45Speaker 1: She's neuropsychal, she's under Dr Caroline, leif, she's working on people's brains.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So you say, no, teresa, I still you're not getting me.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Girl, I had a traumatic childhood.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I suffered.
- 8:03Speaker 1: What I would say is, when you get healing, when you come from a place of that healing and transformation, guess what you get?
- 8:15Speaker 1: To speak to the person you once were as you're going about your business, maybe you feel stuck.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Sometimes that stuckness might be just resistance, because this is where it's part of the resistance, where you're going in your lane.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Resistance happens A lot of times.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It's part of the journey as you learn to.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Perseverance is a muscle of your faith that you come through that stuckness and things light up again.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I just want to ask you what did you like to do when you were young?
- 8:50Speaker 1: I asked that question.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Now I have a podcast that's my own radio station.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I've been going into five years, but this last year I've asked my guests what did you do when you were young?
- 9:02Speaker 1: This last guest it was so precious she goes.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I played stage and she now has a every day.
- 9:09Speaker 1: She goes live on Facebook with a devotional time.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I asked Michelle Tufford, the businesswoman.
- 9:16Speaker 1: She used to play this Barbie business thing and it was all had to do with business.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I had another friend.
- 9:22Speaker 1: She used to color in a coloring book and then gently rip out the page and sell the page.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Amazing marketing, amazing corporate woman.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I want to encourage you.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Sometimes our beliefs determine our emotions.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I think the greatest place where you can get your beliefs short up, stored up, is through your identity.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You might need to go back in your mind what you're doing now light you up.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Now, granted, there are things that are difficult.
- 9:56Speaker 1: They don't light you up, but I just challenge you.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Go back to your childhood.
- 10:00Speaker 1: What did you like to do?
- 10:04Speaker 1: Let's talk identity.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Let's talk I'm T on Tuesday.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Let's talk some of those things and see if we can't light a fire, because I really believe, if you feel voiceless, there is a time for God to heal you and find your voice, with a total transformation of finding your voice from identity, so you can speak, serving the person you once were.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I look forward to talking to you.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I look forward to talking to you.
