- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Jadget ninety four.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Nine and welcome to another episode of Scotti and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:08Speaker 3: First off, thank you for the comments.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Thank you for the ratings, because so far we're in
- 0:12Speaker 2: the five star range, which honestly, I'm impressed by us,
- 0:15Speaker 2: because there are some episodes that we do I'm like, what.
- 0:17Speaker 3: The hell did we talk about?
- 0:19Speaker 2: But I appreciate the support because a lot of the
- 0:21Speaker 2: comments are so funny. And now I'm getting comments and
- 0:23Speaker 2: before we even get into because there's a comment that's
- 0:26Speaker 2: been made to me numerous times for multiple people in
- 0:29Speaker 2: the office out on the streets that's making me feel
- 0:32Speaker 2: like a troll in Tampa.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Bay about the podcast.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Not about the podcast, just about me in general. I
- 0:37Speaker 2: just going to run it by you because I need
- 0:38Speaker 2: you to be brutally honest with me. Okay, so I'm
- 0:40Speaker 2: gonna get to that in a second. But I also
- 0:42Speaker 2: did want to just run this by you, Abby. Somebody
- 0:44Speaker 2: just asked me in Instagram about the bringing their anniversary
- 0:48Speaker 2: to Saint Pete Saint Pete, Tampa. Okay, if you were
- 0:50Speaker 2: to give them the restaurant recommendations for a perfect anniversary night,
- 0:54Speaker 2: where would you send them.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Well, me and you both have the same recommendation. Do
- 0:56Speaker 1: you want to say it? On three?
- 0:58Speaker 3: Don't even say it. You can't say what are you
- 0:59Speaker 3: gonna say?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Okay, don't overthink it?
- 1:01Speaker 3: Okay, okay, one two.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Three, Elliott Astor, Oh, I didn't even say that. Okay,
- 1:05Speaker 1: So you said Saint Pete.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I was gonna try to give a little
- 1:08Speaker 2: Tampa credit to Yeah, but I didn't even think Elliott Astor.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Well, because you said Saint Pete. Immediately, if I could
- 1:14Speaker 1: think of one restaurant, if I had thousand dollars to
- 1:18Speaker 1: just go Ham. I'm not saying these people up a
- 1:19Speaker 1: thousand dollars, but if I had, like, okay, five hundred dollars,
- 1:22Speaker 1: two people, two fifty each, that's fair. Okay, five hundred
- 1:25Speaker 1: dollars to go out dinner somewhere. I'm going to elliot Aster.
- 1:28Speaker 2: That is a place I have not been yet. But
- 1:30Speaker 2: we have our friend Alexia who does her show on
- 1:32Speaker 2: Magic and she has raved about it.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I would love to go.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Okay, So here's the places I said, because didn't even
- 1:37Speaker 2: think elliot Astra.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I said, June on the Peacock.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Okay, you think that's anniversary worthy.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I think at night for sure.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, it's it's a it's a great spot.
- 1:45Speaker 2: And it's like I like the location. Yeah, like what
- 1:47Speaker 2: we talked about. It's like your location for the night.
- 1:49Speaker 2: That's huge.
- 1:50Speaker 1: That's true. I do feel like that's a romantic part
- 1:52Speaker 1: of Saint Pete. I said, I do like Alelo. I
- 1:54Speaker 1: don't know if that's again anniversary worthy.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Okay, Then I said Olivia, I do.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Like Olivia Again, I don't know if it's anniversary. Where.
- 2:02Speaker 1: When I think anniversary, I think you gotta go to
- 2:04Speaker 1: Burn's Steakhouse, you gotta go to pont These are Tampa places,
- 2:08Speaker 1: so I'm giving you like I'm more familiar with Tampa
- 2:10Speaker 1: restaurants and I am sat people.
- 2:11Speaker 2: That's why I asked, because I'm like, well, somebody also
- 2:13Speaker 2: might be coming here, or maybe they want to switch
- 2:15Speaker 2: things up in the Tampa Bay area.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And it's like, what is truly worth it?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Because that's the biggest question, is like, when I'm about
- 2:20Speaker 2: to spend some dollars, y'all.
- 2:23Speaker 3: It needs to be worth it.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Because when you go out to dinner and you just
- 2:27Speaker 2: got a mediocre meal and it's a mediocre environment, but
- 2:30Speaker 2: that bill is not mediocre at all. That makes me
- 2:33Speaker 2: so mad, but there's nothing you can do about it
- 2:36Speaker 2: because you paid the bill and they serve the food.
- 2:38Speaker 3: You've got to deal with it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: So these are the places that are kind of I
- 2:41Speaker 2: also said Savvi on Winlocker, which that's my spot, that's
- 2:44Speaker 2: where I go.
- 2:44Speaker 3: But I have never said it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I've never celebrated a wedding anniversary, so that might be
- 2:48Speaker 2: a new level.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I think it's your anniversary. This is one of the
- 2:51Speaker 1: biggest days of the year, so you have to go
- 2:53Speaker 1: to one of the nicest restaurants in Tampa or.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Saint Bete elliot Aster it is.
- 2:57Speaker 1: That's why I said eliot Astro. And also I have
- 2:59Speaker 1: not heard one person complain about eli Aster.
- 3:02Speaker 3: That's true, you know what I mean.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Like if I say Olivia, you might have someone saying
- 3:05Speaker 1: it's overrated. I love Olivia. I think Olivia is great,
- 3:08Speaker 1: but I think elliot Aster is one of those places
- 3:10Speaker 1: that's gonna hit every time.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna put that down for myself, but I'm
- 3:13Speaker 2: glad you said that because I didn't even think about that.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I forget about it because it's in the Vanoy And
- 3:16Speaker 2: if you don't go in the VANOI You'll never know
- 3:18Speaker 2: it's there.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I would like for our company to take a saleid aster.
- 3:22Speaker 3: I think if we got number one p.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Twenty four fifty Yeah, like that's never gonna happen.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Here's what's crazy, as like it could. I mean it's tough,
- 3:34Speaker 2: you think so. I do think so because we were
- 3:36Speaker 2: like making leaves and balances.
- 3:37Speaker 1: We've gotten women twenty five fifty four. But I thought
- 3:40Speaker 1: that was pretty standard for you.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It's a great place to be, huh. But I think
- 3:44Speaker 2: we're the highest we've ever been with people. Really, So
- 3:47Speaker 2: this is like behind the curtain for like radio, but
- 3:49Speaker 2: like that's how if we get ratings that are people
- 3:52Speaker 2: in a certain age grow, that's where we literally get
- 3:55Speaker 2: to celebrate big time.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So as long as we're good with women, like the
- 3:57Speaker 1: company's happy with us per But if you're person's twenty
- 4:00Speaker 1: five fifty four, then it's like, oh, you're like killing it,
- 4:02Speaker 1: killing it.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how like the standard of looking at it is.
- 4:05Speaker 2: But like women are, that's who we talk to.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Women is really who you want to win with it.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think that's again you're talking to mister optimist.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I believe.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I believe that, even if it's just one time, I
- 4:18Speaker 2: think it's coming. I think things that we got building,
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'm like, I think that's sooner rather than later.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I know, maybe we can do it on our one
- 4:24Speaker 1: year nivers three. That's so we go in February.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Well honestly it should be.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Oh man, this is like just spitball and ideas, but
- 4:32Speaker 2: like we go in February, or we go at the
- 4:33Speaker 2: new signing of a contract.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Okay, that's that's that's like in three years. I could
- 4:38Speaker 1: be dead by then. Hopefully, let's actually seven.
- 4:44Speaker 2: What I was gonna tell you though, right as I
- 4:46Speaker 2: opened this and I wanted to say this all morning,
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think I'm dying. You said you might not be
- 4:51Speaker 2: alive in three years. Okay, I have things that are
- 4:53Speaker 2: happening to me that make me feel like I'm dying.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Okay, explain, and.
- 4:57Speaker 3: This is for Abbey.
- 4:58Speaker 2: You're gonna be the doctor for this podcast, but if
- 5:00Speaker 2: anybody's actually a doctor. First off, one thing that's annoying
- 5:03Speaker 2: is I can't even sit in my car anymore without
- 5:05Speaker 2: getting up and being like just like a stiff board
- 5:07Speaker 2: in my back.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Okay, that's my thirties. Just coming out.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I think that's just getting old.
- 5:10Speaker 2: That sucks because I literally spent half the day yesterday
- 5:13Speaker 2: just stretching.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta go to like a chiropractor.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Good thing, I got friends for that.
- 5:16Speaker 2: The one that I think I'm dying for is like
- 5:18Speaker 2: when I swallow my throat and my chest hurt.
- 5:21Speaker 3: That doesn't sound normal. Does it?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Are you sick?
- 5:24Speaker 3: No, it doesn't feel like a sore throat.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Here's what I think it is for anybody that's in
- 5:28Speaker 2: the medical field. The other night, I had ground beef
- 5:31Speaker 2: too late. Okay, so I know, but it's relevant see
- 5:34Speaker 2: where this goes. I know, but I was laying in
- 5:36Speaker 2: bed and then I woke up in the middle and
- 5:38Speaker 2: I was like, God, I got some heartburn going on,
- 5:40Speaker 2: Like damn. Like I think it's like I ate too late.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Now I'm getting all that acid and like my throat
- 5:44Speaker 2: and my chest.
- 5:45Speaker 3: But I was too late. I didn't want to get up.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I wasn't about to go drink some water try to
- 5:48Speaker 2: calm it down. So I just let it ride, went
- 5:50Speaker 2: back to sleep. But ever since then, I was like
- 5:52Speaker 2: two days ago, my chest and my throat like kind
- 5:55Speaker 2: of still hurt when I drink or I swallow, and
- 5:58Speaker 2: so my hypothet is that, all right, maybe I just
- 6:02Speaker 2: jacked up my esophagus with letting that, like the acid
- 6:04Speaker 2: sit there for a little bit.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Uh huh, that could be one or two. I'm dying.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But the breathing thing is concerning.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I don't think it's as much as a breath. No,
- 6:12Speaker 2: it's not as much as do you feel it?
- 6:13Speaker 3: I feel it like three things.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You can see, two things you can feel.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I feel it at the bottom of like my throat
- 6:19Speaker 2: when I swallow, and then the top of my chest,
- 6:21Speaker 2: like right where acid like reflex would happen.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, then that's probably what it is.
- 6:24Speaker 2: But this two days ago, we think it's like a
- 6:26Speaker 2: burn in the esophagus from the acid.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but your body doesn't heal as much at this age.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Okay, I feel like I'm seventy of.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Why don't you give it a week and then we
- 6:34Speaker 1: can decide when to play in your funeral?
- 6:35Speaker 3: All right, thank you?
- 6:36Speaker 1: I have your funeral at Elliott Astros.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I just needed to run by a while stressing. I
- 6:39Speaker 2: was like all morning, I'm like, oh my god, do
- 6:41Speaker 2: I go to the doctor today?
- 6:42Speaker 3: Am I overreacting? But also I'm getting I'm not.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Getting old, but I'm about to be thirty, and my
- 6:47Speaker 2: back's going out, my throat's causing problems, so maybe it's
- 6:51Speaker 2: not as far away as we think.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Anyway, Well, death is.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Imminent for all. Gosh, you know what, technically we're all dying.
- 6:56Speaker 2: We all dear Lord, this is gonna be the sad one. Yeah, yes,
- 7:00Speaker 2: it is coming for us. But I did I feel
- 7:02Speaker 2: like in my soul, I feel invincible. Like I don't know,
- 7:06Speaker 2: maybe you said something completely opposite two seconds ago, but
- 7:08Speaker 2: like for me, I'm like, I'm gonna live a long life.
- 7:10Speaker 3: But we don't know.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You don't know what we were talking about. Who's that guy,
- 7:14Speaker 1: Brian Johnson who's trying to live forever. Yes, he's doing
- 7:17Speaker 1: everything in his power to live forever, and he still
- 7:20Speaker 1: got diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But he did say he's had that since he was
- 7:23Speaker 2: like twenty, so luckily that might be something that has
- 7:26Speaker 2: already been working on. But that goes to show like
- 7:29Speaker 2: you could try everything. And that's what I was thinking
- 7:31Speaker 2: as I was walking in the hallway. I'm like, I
- 7:33Speaker 2: run and I work out, and I eat healthy, and
- 7:34Speaker 2: I don't get good sleep, but I do as much
- 7:37Speaker 2: as I can. I could be who knows, I might
- 7:39Speaker 2: not even make it to thirty.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You can make it three more months.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Okay, you don't.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Think so, Yes, I think so. Anyway, So last night,
- 7:45Speaker 2: I'm surprised because I was thinking about this too, because
- 7:48Speaker 2: you went out to the post Malone show I did,
- 7:50Speaker 2: and on a week night, Like I remember doing that
- 7:52Speaker 2: when I first got into radio and I was doing
- 7:54Speaker 2: like the late night concerts, and I'd wake up and
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'd come into the show. And that feels like the Strugs.
- 7:59Speaker 1: And Roll study study to Maddy coming into the studio.
- 8:05Speaker 3: But that crap hurts now.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I was impressed that you committed to it, which obviously,
- 8:10Speaker 2: when a good show comes in, I wo'd probably do
- 8:11Speaker 2: the same thing, like when Bruno Mars comes. I don't
- 8:13Speaker 2: care what day it is. Yeah, yeah, I'm coming in.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm going to the show.
- 8:15Speaker 1: When it's your number one artist, you gotta go out.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Like if Taylor's was performed on a Monday, I don't care.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I'm not coming in Tuesday. I think I'm coming into
- 8:22Speaker 1: work Tuesday after Taylor's with.
- 8:23Speaker 3: No hell no.
- 8:24Speaker 1: But post Malone was but post Malone, like I thought,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I got those tickets. When it was on Memorial Day weekend,
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, that'll be fun for Memorial Day weekend.
- 8:32Speaker 1: When it's a Wednesday, I'm like, I gotta go.
- 8:35Speaker 3: That's what it is to do.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I love post Malone, but I don't need to see
- 8:39Speaker 1: a two hour show from him.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what you said earlier, you saw like what
- 8:43Speaker 2: six seven?
- 8:44Speaker 1: I sat through more of jelly Roll because he was
- 8:47Speaker 1: He performed from like seven thirty to eight thirty, and
- 8:50Speaker 1: then Postmolone didn't come on until like nine fifteen, and
- 8:53Speaker 1: I was like, I gotta go.
- 8:54Speaker 2: You're like, bro, it's late on a Wednesday.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 8:57Speaker 2: How was the show? Because Okay, jelly Roll recently went
- 8:59Speaker 2: through a divorce. That's been all over it.
- 9:01Speaker 3: And I see he said things at shows. Did he
- 9:03Speaker 3: acknowledge anything.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He was preaching? I will say it did feel a
- 9:06Speaker 1: little not churchy. He was like he was given a message.
- 9:09Speaker 1: He's like because he has an interesting story, like he
- 9:11Speaker 1: went to jail, he got out of jail. What I
- 9:14Speaker 1: thought was so funny was so him and his wife
- 9:18Speaker 1: are getting divorced. And as you walk into ray J
- 9:20Speaker 1: they had the preachers on the street corner the ones
- 9:23Speaker 1: with the megaphone who are like, you're going to hell. Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 1: He was talking about how Jelly Roll needs to repent
- 9:27Speaker 1: for his divorce and stay with his wife. They were
- 9:29Speaker 1: talking a lot about sex before marriage. They were like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: you're going to or you're ruining your family if you
- 9:36Speaker 1: have sex before me. I'm like, this is not the
- 9:38Speaker 1: place to have that message. Like, I don't know what
- 9:40Speaker 1: they I don't know what they think they're accomplishing.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I think it's just I feel this is in my
- 9:45Speaker 2: bones what I was born here to do.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And I hate that for them go do something else.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Let's go to brunch, I spok at dinner with friends.
- 9:53Speaker 2: There's part of me that's like, I wonder what that's
- 9:56Speaker 2: like mentally to be so uncaring and like you like,
- 10:00Speaker 2: you know, what's the word, no.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Shame at all, to be able to say whatever the
- 10:04Speaker 3: hell you want.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And I think that's great. And listen, I'm not saying
- 10:07Speaker 1: don't fight for your convictions and don't if that's what
- 10:10Speaker 1: you believe you're supposed to evangelize people. I just don't
- 10:12Speaker 1: think the way they're doing it is effective.
- 10:14Speaker 2: No, That's what I'm saying, is like the confidence to
- 10:16Speaker 2: stand out on their corner. Yeah, and just yell these
- 10:19Speaker 2: very dividing things as loud as you can and for hours.
- 10:23Speaker 3: And it's a commitment.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It's always like crusty old men. So I think it's
- 10:25Speaker 1: either them going senile or they're just bored. They're like,
- 10:29Speaker 1: you know what, I've got my four oh one keg,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I got like twenty years left. What do I want
- 10:33Speaker 1: to do? Let me tell people how perverted they are
- 10:37Speaker 1: by fucking see.
- 10:38Speaker 2: That's the I mean again, you believe in what you
- 10:40Speaker 2: want to believe. I just don't like when people try
- 10:42Speaker 2: to tell me what to believe.
- 10:44Speaker 3: That's my thing.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I'm like, look, it's your life. You do you booah,
- 10:47Speaker 2: You don't got to tell me Like I didn't ask you,
- 10:50Speaker 2: so why are you telling me?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Just feel like there's better places to evangelize. Go to
- 10:53Speaker 1: a coffee shop. That's where you're going to find the
- 10:55Speaker 1: spirit of the Lord with a warm croissant and a
- 10:58Speaker 1: hot coffee.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'd be so pad' if I was having a nice,
- 11:00Speaker 2: warm pissot and somebody's yelling in my ear.
- 11:02Speaker 1: The post Malone concert is a godless place, which is
- 11:05Speaker 1: why he probably decided to show up. But that's just
- 11:08Speaker 1: not like fertile soil for the gospel.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I do wonder if like anybody walks by and they're.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Like, yeah, there's you know what, there's gotta be like
- 11:16Speaker 1: one and that's why they keep doing it.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I guess somebody keeps coming back at least one percent
- 11:21Speaker 2: of the people that they yell at and.
- 11:22Speaker 1: They're like, we made a difference if we bring one
- 11:24Speaker 1: sheet back to the flock, and that's all that matters.
- 11:28Speaker 3: But the show was good in general.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it was great. If I jelly Roll did a
- 11:31Speaker 1: great job. I thought Post he did a great job.
- 11:33Speaker 1: It was packed.
- 11:34Speaker 2: How is he as a I've seen Post Malone when
- 11:35Speaker 2: he was the rapper and that was awesome. Yeah, he
- 11:38Speaker 2: danced all around the stage. Songs are good. Never seen
- 11:41Speaker 2: him as like the country singer. Was it entertaining to
- 11:43Speaker 2: watch if he didn't know the songs?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Well, everything just seems really small after seeing the Eras tour,
- 11:48Speaker 1: Like I was up in section two or three, so
- 11:51Speaker 1: I was in you know, the upper echelon, not upper echelon.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I was on like the upper part of the of
- 11:58Speaker 1: the field facing the stage. I could see I had
- 12:00Speaker 1: a great view. Like they're not bad seats you were
- 12:02Speaker 1: far though, but I'm looking at the stage, I'm like,
- 12:04Speaker 1: oh my god, it looks so small.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just like this.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Little tiny runway. You can barely see it. And you
- 12:09Speaker 1: did feel a little disconnected from the show because you
- 12:12Speaker 1: were so far back.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I wonder, I guess it's just an expense thing, because
- 12:16Speaker 2: again you said the aerostour that's set up versus this
- 12:19Speaker 2: setup or other artists set ups. Yeah, it's like not
- 12:21Speaker 2: even comparable, but they're still like again that's rage a. Well,
- 12:24Speaker 2: you're a massive artist.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It just makes me wonder why you wouldn't want to
- 12:27Speaker 1: stage that big, you know, even if you're just post alone, Like,
- 12:30Speaker 1: why wouldn't you want it at least make it long
- 12:32Speaker 1: so you can maybe cut through the floor. Because I
- 12:35Speaker 1: was thinking about the two people that I set up
- 12:37Speaker 1: on that blind date. I gave them floor seats, but
- 12:39Speaker 1: it was section, and so I was kind of hoping.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I was like, I hope they can see because he's
- 12:45Speaker 1: just in that section. He's just up in the front
- 12:47Speaker 1: tunnel runway, and or.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Even like the floor seats might not eve even have
- 12:50Speaker 3: the best view.
- 12:51Speaker 1: You might not have seen it.
- 12:52Speaker 2: You know, that's rough, I know, especially Luckily they got
- 12:55Speaker 2: free tickets.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, they were free. And I set you up with
- 12:57Speaker 1: maybe a new friend who, you know, everything has a cast.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I mean maybe I don't even know what they look like.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I know what the girl looks like.
- 13:04Speaker 3: So I abby set up two people to go on
- 13:05Speaker 3: this blind date. That's so cool.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so I got these floor seats, but I had
- 13:09Speaker 1: already had this section two of three tickets, and I
- 13:11Speaker 1: was like, you know what, let me give the floor
- 13:12Speaker 1: seats away because I know I'm not going to stay
- 13:14Speaker 1: for the entire concert. Let me set up two people
- 13:17Speaker 1: on a blind date and see what happens. And I
- 13:20Speaker 1: was so excited because I really felt like I had
- 13:21Speaker 1: made a pretty good pairing. And I had been texting
- 13:24Speaker 1: them days before, just making sure we were all good.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And obviously I was a little preoccupied over the weekend
- 13:29Speaker 1: because my brother got married. Oh yeah, you're kind of busy,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and so I didn't really check in with him until Tuesday.
- 13:33Speaker 1: He said, hey, blah blah blah, here's what you need
- 13:35Speaker 1: to know. So she responded, and he opened my text
- 13:38Speaker 1: like he could see the red seats, but he didn't
- 13:40Speaker 1: say anything. Granted, the text didn't need a response, but
- 13:43Speaker 1: he didn't say anything, and so that's when I started
- 13:45Speaker 1: getting a little nervous and I thought, this is kind
- 13:47Speaker 1: of on me. I thought about texting him, just being like, hey,
- 13:49Speaker 1: if you're going to back out, tell me now, because
- 13:51Speaker 1: I got the vibe he was going to back out,
- 13:52Speaker 1: but I was really hoping that he wouldn't, So I
- 13:54Speaker 1: texted him two hours before the concert, asking him to
- 13:56Speaker 1: update his ticket Master and he said, yeah, I'm sick.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I can't go. I'm sick.
- 14:01Speaker 3: You're saying you said what he said he was six
- 14:03Speaker 3: and the fourth of July.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I said, oh, I'm still sick from the fourth of July.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Which I'm like, that's just bullshit, Like it's just so well,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you're gonna be a coward. Just say you're a coward.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So I'll tell you what he said.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I think, And again I can't say I've never done
- 14:15Speaker 2: crappy things like that where it's like you're scared to
- 14:18Speaker 2: say the truth. But as you've gotten what I don't
- 14:19Speaker 2: know how old this guy is, like you learned that lesson.
- 14:22Speaker 2: It's just better to be honest and get it done with.
- 14:24Speaker 2: It's a little uncomfortable, but it's better than setting someone
- 14:26Speaker 2: up to be like either scrambling or it makes you
- 14:29Speaker 2: seem so ungrateful.
- 14:31Speaker 1: If you didn't want to go. If he had told
- 14:32Speaker 1: me a couple of days before, Hey, listen, I put
- 14:35Speaker 1: myself out there.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Seemed like a good idea.
- 14:37Speaker 1: It seem like a good idea at the time I'm
- 14:38Speaker 1: actually talking. Why I say you're talking to somebody else.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I just don't feel good about it. Yeah, maybe I'll
- 14:43Speaker 1: be like a little pissed, but I'm not gonna be
- 14:44Speaker 1: pissed at you because now it's on me to scramble. Yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 1: but for you to not say anything Tuesday when I
- 14:50Speaker 1: texted you, and then the concert's Wednesday, and I text
- 14:52Speaker 1: you again and you back out two hours before, that's
- 14:55Speaker 1: shitty behavior like that goes.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I wonder what these again. I guess maybe I've been
- 14:59Speaker 2: that guy. But now there's so many videos online where
- 15:02Speaker 2: people are like, guys, all you gotta do is this
- 15:05Speaker 2: this this like, stop being this kind of guy.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I wonder if these.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Guys look at these videos and they're like, yeah, I
- 15:11Speaker 2: don't know what that's like.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd rather just do what's comfortable for me. Who
- 15:16Speaker 1: cares about the girl that was excited to go out
- 15:17Speaker 1: with you and honestly like she's a really cute girl.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I'm like, you messed up, buddy.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I mean that goes to say what we said so
- 15:24Speaker 2: many times, like guy guys is stupid.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Sometimes that's all will dumb. So anyway, he said, hey,
- 15:28Speaker 1: sorry for the late text. Was hoping i'd shake it,
- 15:31Speaker 1: but feeling sick from the Ford's still so not going
- 15:33Speaker 1: to be able to make it, but thanks for the opportunity,
- 15:35Speaker 1: And I said I'd chat to BT come up with
- 15:37Speaker 1: something for me, because I was like, I want to
- 15:39Speaker 1: be a bitch, but I don't want a screenshot to
- 15:41Speaker 1: make me look like a bitch, Like I want him
- 15:42Speaker 1: to know him being a bitch. But it's deniable bitch.
- 15:45Speaker 3: It gets put publicly.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's deniable bitchery. So I said, I hope you
- 15:49Speaker 1: feel better, but I don't appreciate the last minute heads
- 15:51Speaker 1: up if you were still feeling and then I put
- 15:53Speaker 1: in quotes sick, you should have let me know earlier.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Waiting until two hours before wasn't fair to anybody involved.
- 15:59Speaker 3: And I hope he takes that as a massive lesson
- 16:01Speaker 3: moving forward.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope he takes that as a big fuck you.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Actually, yeah, well right, now, yes, I think that is
- 16:06Speaker 2: exactly what it is.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I told the girl, I said, listen, if he slides
- 16:09Speaker 1: into your DMS after seeing how cute you are and
- 16:11Speaker 1: tries to get with you, you absolutely cannot go out with him.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I'm like, that's my price. I'm going to give you
- 16:16Speaker 1: these floor seats. Do not go out with this man.
- 16:18Speaker 1: If he slides into your DMS.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Oh, you should have a better standard for yourself. If
- 16:21Speaker 2: he's doing that, now, ain't gonna do that to you
- 16:24Speaker 2: on a date?
- 16:24Speaker 1: I know. Well, I also just think it just shows
- 16:27Speaker 1: for me like the older I get, the more I
- 16:28Speaker 1: find integrity to be really hot. Yes, and you, I'm
- 16:32Speaker 1: not saying he'll never get there. He's twenty five, he's
- 16:34Speaker 1: a young guy. But like, you could have given me
- 16:36Speaker 1: the bare minimum integrity, and when I texted you on
- 16:38Speaker 1: Tuesday you could have backed out. Then absolutely, that's what
- 16:41Speaker 1: pisses me off. You should have backed out Tuesday. I
- 16:44Speaker 1: would have been pissed and I still probably would be
- 16:46Speaker 1: talking about it right now, of course, But like two
- 16:49Speaker 1: hours before, is dickhead behavior.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Absolutely because of the efforts and the things that you
- 16:53Speaker 2: have done to make this happen, I know, and it's
- 16:55Speaker 2: a lot.
- 16:56Speaker 1: You applied, You applied, I didn't reach out to you.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You sent me a video, you sent me a headshot,
- 17:02Speaker 1: you put in an application, and now you're making it
- 17:04Speaker 1: my problem.
- 17:05Speaker 3: And maybe you were sick.
- 17:07Speaker 2: But just say that in the beginning, yeah, and then
- 17:10Speaker 2: let it ride like I would have said, Man, I
- 17:12Speaker 2: am honestly not feeling great.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I do want to be there.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna see if I could shake this, but giving
- 17:17Speaker 2: you the heads up so maybe you can have somebody
- 17:19Speaker 2: on backup, because I don't want to leave this girl
- 17:20Speaker 2: high and dry, because imagine if you couldn't find somebody.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was at a postal Own concert alone.
- 17:25Speaker 1: What a way to say that. He could have said, Listen,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I want to you know, I'm been feeling really sick
- 17:28Speaker 1: since the fourth I was gonna wait until tomorrow to
- 17:30Speaker 1: see if I was feeling good. But I don't want
- 17:32Speaker 1: you to be left. I don't want her to be
- 17:33Speaker 1: left without a date. That's I'm really be apologetic, but
- 17:37Speaker 1: there's a way to go about it. Instead, he was like, oh,
- 17:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry name Jake.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yeah that sucks, but I'm glad at least that you
- 17:42Speaker 2: know somebody else still stepped up and yeah, I hope.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I don't know how Again, like I said, I don't
- 17:47Speaker 2: know what these two look like. I don't know if
- 17:48Speaker 2: they're comparted.
- 17:48Speaker 1: To photo right now.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah, see what these two are like? Because you said
- 17:53Speaker 2: he was a little bit younger, so I really.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Liked his application. I looked at this guy, I'm like, oh,
- 17:57Speaker 1: he's so like adorable and the same. Like I've gotten
- 18:00Speaker 1: to the age where I see guys in their early
- 18:01Speaker 1: twenties and I'm.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Like, you're not gonna here now, past the point of like,
- 18:05Speaker 2: damn you fine, but I think I.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Can like objectively look at them and go, you are handsome.
- 18:11Speaker 1: But it's like they're so much younger to me now
- 18:13Speaker 1: that I'm yes you no, I get that.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I'm put in my pocket.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so this is I don't want to show it
- 18:19Speaker 1: on kish.
- 18:21Speaker 3: That's the guy.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I know, he's a stuch. What the heck?
- 18:25Speaker 3: I'll tell you what happen the guys that you find?
- 18:27Speaker 3: Oh my god, listen.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I'm The thing is, I'm not going to do the
- 18:30Speaker 1: girls wrong. I was not going to set up a
- 18:32Speaker 1: girl with a weird ugo. That's why I had them
- 18:35Speaker 1: send in the videos because I'm like, I can get
- 18:36Speaker 1: a vibe. I'm really good at sussing out the vibe.
- 18:39Speaker 1: And I thought he was cute. He was I think
- 18:41Speaker 1: he's twenty three. I was like, I gotta find a
- 18:43Speaker 1: twenty three year old for him. And none of the
- 18:46Speaker 1: girls were younger than twenty five. There might have been
- 18:48Speaker 1: a couple twenty four year olds in there, but even still,
- 18:50Speaker 1: I don't I don't like that much of an age
- 18:53Speaker 1: gap for that age range. Yeah, it's different as you
- 18:55Speaker 1: get older, Like you dating your girlfriend, like twenty nineteen
- 18:58Speaker 1: thirty one, not that big of a difference at that age.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Twenty three and twenty four, there's some differences.
- 19:04Speaker 3: How old is she?
- 19:05Speaker 1: She's twenty five, so I had set her up with
- 19:07Speaker 1: another twenty five year old. They had both gone to
- 19:09Speaker 1: really good universities. She went to Florida. Funny thing about
- 19:12Speaker 1: her that I found out she lives down the street
- 19:15Speaker 1: from my aunt, like the street that I pretty much
- 19:18Speaker 1: grew up on with my cousins whenever I visit them.
- 19:21Speaker 1: She lives five houses down the street, went to the.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Same high school.
- 19:23Speaker 3: That is insane, like the small world moments.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Very small moment or world moments.
- 19:27Speaker 3: So I either.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I had really liked her application because she again was
- 19:31Speaker 1: wearing like a UF sweatshirt. She looks super cute, just
- 19:33Speaker 1: very genuine, and she said, this is such a fun opportunity,
- 19:37Speaker 1: and I was like, I want to set up somebody
- 19:39Speaker 1: that realizes that, even though it's nerve racking to put
- 19:42Speaker 1: yourself out there, what a cool way to meet somebody.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Hell yeah, what a fun opportunity. So I was like,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I really wanted to pick her. So I'm like, if
- 19:48Speaker 1: there's a guy that works for her, I'll pair her
- 19:51Speaker 1: up with somebody. And so the original guy I picked
- 19:53Speaker 1: was like the last guy to apply, and I was like, perfect,
- 19:56Speaker 1: just in time, and he seemed really nice and genuine.
- 19:59Speaker 1: His friends had nominated him, and then he applied and
- 20:02Speaker 1: I stalked him. I was like, oh, he looks really
- 20:03Speaker 1: objectively attractive. Like I think as long as there's an
- 20:06Speaker 1: initial physical interest, they'll at least make it work for
- 20:09Speaker 1: a night. And they I felt like, personality wise, do
- 20:12Speaker 1: we gel too. He went to I won't say what school,
- 20:14Speaker 1: but he went to another let's see, I'll just give
- 20:17Speaker 1: you like a he went to like University of Michigan.
- 20:19Speaker 1: That's how the school he went to but he went
- 20:20Speaker 1: to like a University of Michigan. Y.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I got good, good school.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And then they both paid the boy jobs and I
- 20:26Speaker 1: was like, oh, this could be really cool.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Okay, so they're both in their career.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, established they seemed like a similar vibe. Anyway,
- 20:33Speaker 1: they were both each other's types on paper, types on paper.
- 20:36Speaker 1: And so then when he backed out, I was like,
- 20:38Speaker 1: what am I gonna do? And so I texted two guys.
- 20:40Speaker 1: One was twenty seven, but he seemed a little bit
- 20:42Speaker 1: more introverted and he couldn't get off until eight and
- 20:45Speaker 1: I was like, no, no, no, you're missed like half the concert.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And then I texted the guy who ended up going
- 20:50Speaker 1: because I was like, I think he'll be down. He's
- 20:53Speaker 1: a little bit young, so I don't know that it's
- 20:54Speaker 1: a romantic pairing, but I think he'll be fun and
- 20:57Speaker 1: I think he'll be nice to her.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, And it looked like that picture because he Abby
- 21:01Speaker 2: showed me a picture and he's with like two other
- 21:02Speaker 2: women and it's like maybe like friends or family, like
- 21:05Speaker 2: so it obviously should know how to talk to women.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Wait, that's me and her. Wait that was you, guys,
- 21:09Speaker 1: that was us last night does not look like that's
- 21:14Speaker 1: me and her. That's the day.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Okay, I was just looking at the okay, and.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Even that's literally us so funny. They're cute, right they are.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Actually, no, they're very cute. And actually they look like
- 21:22Speaker 2: they would pair very well together. They would be a
- 21:24Speaker 2: good looking couple together. Now, whether it goes that way
- 21:26Speaker 2: or not, that's so funny that I didn't realize that. No,
- 21:28Speaker 2: I know, but I hope that he was at least
- 21:31Speaker 2: conversational enough.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Did he seem like very personable when.
- 21:35Speaker 1: He was running latent he called me and he's when
- 21:38Speaker 1: I know, so like, I want to make him like
- 21:40Speaker 1: the Bay shor bachelor. Now, I'm like, I want to
- 21:42Speaker 1: find him. The thing is, he's just young, and so
- 21:44Speaker 1: I'm like, I need you to age up a couple
- 21:46Speaker 1: of years and then I want to set you up
- 21:47Speaker 1: on Bay Shore with a bunch of girls.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I think, I mean it could work. Technically, it could
- 21:51Speaker 2: because as long as he's a mature dude that's willing
- 21:54Speaker 2: to step up to the plate, it could work.
- 21:56Speaker 1: But he's I will ride for this guy now since
- 21:58Speaker 1: he literally wouldin two hours like texted and said he
- 22:01Speaker 1: could go.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy the difference though, Like, look at that
- 22:04Speaker 2: vast difference where the one guy waits two hours before
- 22:07Speaker 2: he cancels. The other guy literally responds immediately calls when
- 22:11Speaker 2: he's showing up late.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah, like that's the difference.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Is it's the massive things that.
- 22:16Speaker 3: You have to do, No, just show up.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Showing up is eighty percent of it.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Gosh, and we're talking about this earlier too, because not
- 22:23Speaker 2: only did this girl get ghosted. A couple of weeks
- 22:26Speaker 2: ago on the podcast, you were talking about how you
- 22:27Speaker 2: didn't get ghosted, but you got canceled on.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I got canceled on last minute.
- 22:31Speaker 3: That and that was the annoyance.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna have I talked about this before
- 22:35Speaker 1: on the.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Podcast yet I don't think so.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I don't think I've talked about this on the podcast.
- 22:39Speaker 1: So I'm back on the apps, although I think I'm
- 22:40Speaker 1: about to delete them again.
- 22:42Speaker 3: It's just not it's not doing what.
- 22:43Speaker 1: It's not hinging the way it needs to Hinge. So
- 22:47Speaker 1: let me find this guy so we match on Hinge.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I don't want to go back on Hinge because I'm
- 22:50Speaker 1: a little fraid he unmatched me. But June twentieth, oh,
- 22:53Speaker 1: it's my parents are in an anniversary. He he texted me
- 22:56Speaker 1: and said that he was just confirming our date. He said, hey,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I'm still down for m Bird tomorrow. Remember this, because
- 23:03Speaker 1: I was like, why do all these guys keep asking
- 23:05Speaker 1: me how to Embird? Embert's not like a good date place.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I brought this up to multiple people, and they've all
- 23:08Speaker 1: thought it's weird because that's the place that amature works, right. Yeah,
- 23:10Speaker 1: and this is the second time somebody's asked me out
- 23:12Speaker 1: to m Bird.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Like.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Embert is not a date place on a weekend.
- 23:15Speaker 2: No, I would absolutely because it turns into like a club.
- 23:18Speaker 2: That is what I've seen over there.
- 23:19Speaker 1: That's what I thought. So anyway, I said, hey, hey, that
- 23:21Speaker 1: should work, but I'm pretty sure Embert is under construction.
- 23:23Speaker 1: And so then he offered up Jackson's or American Social.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Jackson's is fine, American Social is not.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very fascinating what a restaurant says about somebody.
- 23:33Speaker 1: American Social is like a sports bar.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and it gets very viby, like very twenty two
- 23:39Speaker 2: to twenty seven.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's still emberd vibes. Yes, it's it's not always
- 23:44Speaker 1: a club, but it kind of gets club.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Oh it turns to it. I mean that area at night.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Who it's just not a first date spot. No, Jackson's
- 23:51Speaker 1: is a restaurant. But because he's already listed off these
- 23:53Speaker 1: other two places, I'm like, Nine's feel like icky, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: so I said, yeah, that works for me, and.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Then like Jackson's kind of expensive too.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So here's here's what I said.
- 24:01Speaker 2: After that.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I said, so my parents are saying this was Father's
- 24:04Speaker 1: Day weekend. I said, so my parents are staying with
- 24:05Speaker 1: me right now, decide to hang through tomorrow. I can
- 24:07Speaker 1: do Wednesday or next weekend.
- 24:08Speaker 3: Okay?
- 24:09Speaker 1: Is that fine? Yeah? Okay, I don't know if that
- 24:10Speaker 1: was maybe two blunt No, I think that's again.
- 24:13Speaker 3: If my whole thing is like, if you want to do,
- 24:15Speaker 3: he would like, I will move mountain.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Be useless to men.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well it's like you have things going on, that's life,
- 24:21Speaker 2: Like life will happen. So now, as the guy, you
- 24:24Speaker 2: should be like, oh cool, like audible move things around.
- 24:26Speaker 1: So then he said, I'll get I can't do Wednesday,
- 24:27Speaker 1: so let's do next weekend. And then I thumbs it up.
- 24:29Speaker 1: And then on Thursday, he said, hey, Abby, you want
- 24:32Speaker 1: to go for a drinks at Jackson's at seven thirty
- 24:34Speaker 1: on Saturday, and I said, hey, hey, I'm in Wesley
- 24:36Speaker 1: Chapel until seven Saturday. Earliest I can do.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Is eight ish.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Then he said, do you want to do eight thirty
- 24:41Speaker 1: and I said works for me. So Thursday he said, cool,
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'll keep you updated when I leave. Blah blah blah
- 24:45Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah, etcetera, etcetera. Saturday, eleven am, I'm
- 24:49Speaker 1: sitting in traffic on the way to our Laguna Palooza event. Hey, Abby,
- 24:53Speaker 1: sorry for the late notice, but I need to cancel
- 24:55Speaker 1: our date. I've connected with another person and want to
- 24:57Speaker 1: see where that goes. And I just thumbs it up.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Sucks.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I thought it was rude because I'm like, what happened
- 25:02Speaker 1: between Thursday and Saturday.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That's where it's really confusing. Did he like, because that's
- 25:07Speaker 3: what it.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Felt like bullshit to me, and like you went out
- 25:09Speaker 1: on a date on Friday.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And yeah, unless he again like, maybe I don't know
- 25:14Speaker 2: if I said this to you, I look gonna lose it.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Like maybe his conscious got to him, like maybe he
- 25:18Speaker 2: was talking to somebody and he realized, wait a second,
- 25:21Speaker 2: I no, I want to see where this goes, cause
- 25:23Speaker 2: I get that, like, and I think that's what I
- 25:25Speaker 2: said to you. Like when I was like just casually
- 25:27Speaker 2: dating and then I met my girlfriend, I was like,
- 25:29Speaker 2: I think I had like once I met my girlfriend,
- 25:31Speaker 2: and I think I had something up like maybe that week.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Literally it was the same thing. I was like, well, yeah, no,
- 25:36Speaker 2: this ain't gonna work.
- 25:37Speaker 1: But then don't confirm with me Thursday.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what's weird, that's what you.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Honestly, after I canceled him with I canceled with him
- 25:45Speaker 1: on Sunday, I thought he was just gonna go to me,
- 25:47Speaker 1: and I was like, that'll be fine. So when he
- 25:48Speaker 1: followed up on Thursday, I'm like, oh, he really wants
- 25:51Speaker 1: to go out.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Yeah, he's actually fully in cause it's.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Like Thursday night, Thursday night he confirmed. So Thursday night happens,
- 25:58Speaker 1: it's like eight pm.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Yeah, twenty four hours literally.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Like it's it's not even thirty six it's like thirty
- 26:03Speaker 1: six hours Saturday morning. Hey, sorry for the late cancel.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I've met somebody else.
- 26:08Speaker 2: So on Friday, either he met someone on Friday or
- 26:11Speaker 2: he was talking to multiple people.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Before he Even if you did meet somebody on Friday.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I'm a little annoyed that you weren't even remotely excited
- 26:17Speaker 1: enough about me to just be like, well, let me
- 26:19Speaker 1: just see what's going on with Abbey.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Yes, because it's the first date.
- 26:23Speaker 1: It's not like we've been seeing each other and he
- 26:25Speaker 1: feels like, oh, now I've got these two girls and
- 26:26Speaker 1: they're overlapping, Like that's the.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Whole part of dating. Like you could see a couple
- 26:30Speaker 3: of people in the beginning and the very beginning.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, so like, are you exclusive with this person or not?
- 26:33Speaker 1: So like you decided to be exclusive with someone on Friday?
- 26:36Speaker 1: I called bullshit. So yesterday at nine to twenty two pm.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Wait a second, wait, how many days has that been?
- 26:42Speaker 1: So now it's been so June twenty seven, So that
- 26:44Speaker 1: was two weeks.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Okay, a little more than two weeks. Actually, yeah, we're
- 26:48Speaker 2: now in July.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Hey, Abby, that connection didn't work out, and I was
- 26:52Speaker 1: wondering if you'd still be interested to get together for
- 26:55Speaker 1: drinks this weekend.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Okay, this could be two things, though, because the one
- 26:59Speaker 2: could be he's an upstanding guy that didn't want to
- 27:01Speaker 2: be talking to multiple women.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Why are we talking to multiple women?
- 27:04Speaker 2: Well? Beaun't I don't know, because if he's dating, he
- 27:06Speaker 2: probably doesn't understand that. Like, as long as you're upfront
- 27:09Speaker 2: and honest and the beginning of dating, it's okay.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I have no problem. If you're talking to multiple people,
- 27:14Speaker 1: I actually would prefer that don't give me all your attention.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that's where he might like, I'm
- 27:19Speaker 2: just trying to do the benefit of the doubt to
- 27:20Speaker 2: this guy, is that maybe what he was doing, like
- 27:23Speaker 2: he didn't want to he got a confuse, Like in
- 27:25Speaker 2: the beginning, he's like, oh, wow, I found another match.
- 27:27Speaker 3: We went out, it was really good.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Let me cut off every other option so I could
- 27:30Speaker 2: just see where this goes.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And you're telling me that happened Friday night.
- 27:34Speaker 3: That's that's where it gets tough, you know what I mean?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yes, Like I wonder if he hooked up with someone
- 27:38Speaker 1: Friday night and then he texted me Saturday, was just like, man, he.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Could have a date for Yeah, I mean he literally
- 27:43Speaker 2: could have had a great date Friday.
- 27:45Speaker 3: And he was like, wait a second, that was so good.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Let me see where it goes now.
- 27:49Speaker 1: And it ended after two and a half weeks.
- 27:51Speaker 2: That's the part that I'm like, all right, bro, you
- 27:52Speaker 2: might just be off. How do you feel about getting
- 27:54Speaker 2: that message?
- 27:55Speaker 1: I rolled my eyes when I got it, so I
- 27:57Speaker 1: figured and I had to talk to I had to
- 27:59Speaker 1: talk to chech to you about it?
- 28:00Speaker 3: It's chatgy me to your therapist.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Well, because I'm like, I just need like an object
- 28:04Speaker 1: objective computer opinion. Does that make sense? Because if I
- 28:06Speaker 1: send it to a friend, they're gonna have a motion
- 28:08Speaker 1: behind it. But if I send it to the Internet,
- 28:10Speaker 1: it's just gonna give me like basic facts.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yes, and what did Chat say?
- 28:14Speaker 1: Chat Chap is telling me don't go for it?
- 28:17Speaker 2: Really?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Yeah? Chat was like okay, so you were clearly presented
- 28:20Speaker 1: as an option and you weren't the most desirable option.
- 28:23Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, he did choose chat.
- 28:26Speaker 2: You know what?
- 28:27Speaker 3: Fuck?
- 28:27Speaker 2: I agree with Chat? Yeah, okay, that makes sense.
- 28:30Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, and I guess the
- 28:32Speaker 1: toxic part of my brain goes, would my future husband
- 28:35Speaker 1: see a photo of me and go I'd rather go
- 28:38Speaker 1: out with this other girl? Let me cancel on her
- 28:40Speaker 1: Saturday morning?
- 28:41Speaker 3: That's true, do you know what I mean?
- 28:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, okay, Like.
- 28:44Speaker 1: When you saw a photo of your girlfriend, you were like,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I'm going out with that girl.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, do you know what I mean? Absolutely?
- 28:51Speaker 1: And it's not that I think you need to be
- 28:52Speaker 1: like all in and go super hard and pursue me
- 28:55Speaker 1: and make videos of me about me and be like
- 28:56Speaker 1: I want to ask this girlah blah blah blah like
- 28:58Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey, I just want you to go on the date.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yes, like, just follow through, choose me.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Pick me, choose me, God agreement, love me.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Gosh, No, I think I do agree with that one
- 29:08Speaker 2: hundred percent though, like at least I'm not I think
- 29:11Speaker 2: waiting around for you, and I think that's what it
- 29:13Speaker 2: kind of feels like that's what I was just waiting
- 29:15Speaker 2: around for your text Yce, this is gonna happen now.
- 29:17Speaker 3: I'm good, I think, I.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Because I was getting kind of icked out by like
- 29:21Speaker 1: the em bird and then the American social thing that
- 29:23Speaker 1: I'm like, this isn't like a man. Does that make sense?
- 29:26Speaker 3: Like, yes, that does.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'm glad because I felt nervous saying that.
- 29:29Speaker 3: No, I think it again.
- 29:30Speaker 2: That's why I say, like, there are certain restaurants that
- 29:32Speaker 2: kind of show who you are, Like it's just how
- 29:34Speaker 2: I feel like, if you're gonna take me to American
- 29:36Speaker 2: social I'm thinking I mean again, and this is I
- 29:38Speaker 2: don't know who listens to the podcast.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 29:40Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with these places.
- 29:42Speaker 3: They're just not There's just a vibe. You just you
- 29:44Speaker 3: might not want that vibe.
- 29:45Speaker 1: You don't take a woman who's twenty nine to American
- 29:48Speaker 1: social for a first date.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, we're not gonna be chugging beers and just
- 29:51Speaker 2: having a rager for a date.
- 29:53Speaker 1: You take? Where would you what's a good first date spot?
- 29:55Speaker 2: I'm at in Tampa and Tampa, So if I was
- 29:58Speaker 2: gonna go to Tampa on a first date, I would go,
- 30:01Speaker 2: you know what, Oh God, I haven't gone to many
- 30:02Speaker 2: places in Tampa. Bulan's a great first date spot.
- 30:05Speaker 1: See, I would say no to Bulan.
- 30:07Speaker 3: It depends on the time.
- 30:07Speaker 1: It depends on the time, It depends on the day
- 30:09Speaker 1: of the week.
- 30:09Speaker 3: I want something.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Because when I took my girlfriend on the first date,
- 30:12Speaker 2: we went to this place called Savvi on Winelocker. But
- 30:14Speaker 2: what I was going for was I wanted it to
- 30:17Speaker 2: be small. I wanted to be elegant, intimate, intimate, but
- 30:21Speaker 2: also nice.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I needed to have good drinks, casual food, but it
- 30:26Speaker 2: needed to be quiet enough for us to be able
- 30:27Speaker 2: to have a conversation in close quarters. So that's what
- 30:30Speaker 2: I would go for in Tampa. I wouldn't go to
- 30:32Speaker 2: someplace that's big, that's loud, that's busy.
- 30:34Speaker 1: That's what these places are.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I wanted it to be locked in. Yeah, one
- 30:38Speaker 2: hundred percent focused on each other. And so like, even
- 30:40Speaker 2: what are the we went to one of the dates
- 30:42Speaker 2: in Three Corners Pizza right there in downtown Tampa. That's casual,
- 30:45Speaker 2: but it's still a cool place because it's still downtown. Yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 2: you don't need to spend all this money on your
- 30:49Speaker 2: first date. Yeah, I wouldn't go even though I love
- 30:52Speaker 2: this place. I love Kava, I wouldn't go to Kava
- 30:54Speaker 2: for the first date. No, Like, guess that's still too casual.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I don't need an expensive date. Honestly, if you asked
- 30:59Speaker 1: me to go for a walk on bage word, that's
- 31:01Speaker 1: fine with me, especially from a dating app situation. Let's
- 31:04Speaker 1: just see if we don't hate each other.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the first place I was gonna take
- 31:07Speaker 2: my girlfriend was this place called and I talked about
- 31:09Speaker 2: this because I threw up the other weekend at La Pluma,
- 31:12Speaker 2: so I was gonna go there.
- 31:13Speaker 3: That was gonna be the.
- 31:13Speaker 2: First dight spot because again, quiet one drink, easy to
- 31:17Speaker 2: have a conversation.
- 31:18Speaker 3: But it's nice.
- 31:19Speaker 2: It shows that you put in an effort, but it
- 31:20Speaker 2: shows that you're locked in on the focus. Yeah, that
- 31:22Speaker 2: should been the look. Wow, okay, well that's that sucks.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm leaning towards don't respond.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah, no, there's no need. There's no need because I
- 31:30Speaker 2: think there's already an ick that's given.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I was a little icked out in the beginning, and yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 1: I'm just not I don't think it's the right vibe.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah, if you're already feeling that way now, well then
- 31:38Speaker 2: it's probably only going to intensify.
- 31:40Speaker 1: It's probably intensify or and I've.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Done this before, you just say ef it and you
- 31:44Speaker 3: do it just to see.
- 31:45Speaker 1: But I could, but I don't know that I care
- 31:47Speaker 1: enough to go. I don't know.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Yeah, if you don't have that feeling that pulled to
- 31:51Speaker 2: do it, then don't waste your time.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Here's what's well, I mean, here's the thing. It's like,
- 31:55Speaker 1: if I say yes and it's great, then it's like, oh,
- 31:57Speaker 1: I'm glad I took that chance. But then if I
- 31:59Speaker 1: go on, I'm like, I hate this guy. Then I'm
- 32:01Speaker 1: gonna be like why did I do that?
- 32:02Speaker 2: Like, yeah, why did I put myself down?
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah? When honestly, the prideful part of me wants to
- 32:07Speaker 1: be like fuck you.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Yeah. In that case, I think it's okay, Like, right.
- 32:10Speaker 1: You cancel on me mourning of because you found a
- 32:12Speaker 1: better connection on Friday. How stupid do you think I am?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Like me saying yes this date makes me feel like
- 32:19Speaker 1: I'm betraying my own competence.
- 32:21Speaker 3: That's what it is. Yeah, it's like you're lowering your standard.
- 32:23Speaker 2: It's like, quote unquote, am I so desperate that I'm
- 32:26Speaker 2: willing to just be the second girl?
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yeah? Actually I'm not. So I'm not responding.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Boom there it is okay, So I won't go out
- 32:31Speaker 2: with there. It is all right, delete hinge, get off
- 32:33Speaker 2: the way.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I know now I'm deleting the hinge that was my
- 32:34Speaker 1: last hingele is on.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I mean truthfully though, because it's like how many times,
- 32:39Speaker 2: and I know multiple people sat on dating apps and
- 32:42Speaker 2: they found somebody, But how many times could you put
- 32:44Speaker 2: yourself through that ringer?
- 32:45Speaker 1: Yeah? I think you have to go through stints. I
- 32:47Speaker 1: think you have to go through periods where you get
- 32:48Speaker 1: on them and then you get off them.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Like training for a race.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I get to do train on, train off.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:54Speaker 2: You don't want to just put all the time. It'll
- 32:55Speaker 2: be so depressed unless it works, and it does.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I mean, my brother and his girlfriend met on hinge
- 33:00Speaker 1: or it's like girlfriend, Oh my god, my brother and
- 33:02Speaker 1: his wife on nge, my brother and his raft man
- 33:05Speaker 1: on hinge, his laugh.
- 33:07Speaker 3: So it is possible, but it's just I'm sure it
- 33:10Speaker 3: just you gotta hit it when it's hot.
- 33:11Speaker 1: You gotta hit it when it's hot. When it's not
- 33:13Speaker 1: step off, And I think I'm just learning that I'm
- 33:15Speaker 1: not the type of person who likes a vibe being
- 33:18Speaker 1: instantly romantic, if that makes sense. Like, I don't want
- 33:20Speaker 1: to show up and have the context be like, Okay,
- 33:23Speaker 1: you've been doing this a lot, Like you're like looking
- 33:25Speaker 1: at me, You're like licking your lips.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Sorry, my lips are dry.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Okay, I'm like what are you doing. I'm like, it's
- 33:30Speaker 1: been happening enough times that I've got to say something.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I have weird tics.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, are you okay? I'm like, why
- 33:36Speaker 1: are you seducing me? It's like when you had that
- 33:39Speaker 1: moaning thing and I was like, you got to stop.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I still do it.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Actually, I haven't heard you moan in a while. Good.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I'm glad I've been able to cut the hat.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I realized I don't like the context of showing up
- 33:49Speaker 1: and instantly being like this is a romantic situation. Like
- 33:52Speaker 1: I like for it to be like we really gell
- 33:54Speaker 1: and to kind of build. And I don't think you
- 33:56Speaker 1: can do that in a first date online environment.
- 34:00Speaker 3: That's true because you're literally setting yourself up for that environment.
- 34:03Speaker 1: You're just setting it up like this is immediately romantic,
- 34:05Speaker 1: whereas I would rather be like a friend group and
- 34:07Speaker 1: be like, oh me and Jason.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's how.
- 34:10Speaker 3: It usually is.
- 34:11Speaker 2: It's like you're going out and all of a sudden
- 34:12Speaker 2: the group and you just find yourself gravitating towards somebody
- 34:15Speaker 2: and next thing you know, you're talking to them a
- 34:16Speaker 2: little bit more than the other person. And next thing
- 34:18Speaker 2: you know, you're like, wait a second, you should go
- 34:21Speaker 2: out with that person.
- 34:22Speaker 1: That's what I mean, is like you just your vibes
- 34:23Speaker 1: start to like mash.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Yeah that environment, Like you've been doing that though, too.
- 34:27Speaker 2: It's like going out to these different events, that's it.
- 34:30Speaker 2: It seems like the better option. It does. It's exhausting.
- 34:34Speaker 3: You stay busy.
- 34:34Speaker 1: It's fine, it's come.
- 34:36Speaker 3: It will take a little break from hinge.
- 34:37Speaker 2: I know.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I will let me talkirl summer. I can't spend the
- 34:39Speaker 1: rest of July going. I wonder if Jason's going to
- 34:42Speaker 1: check me back.
- 34:43Speaker 2: No f fat, go out, be hot, get anyway, have
- 34:47Speaker 2: a good time.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Yeah, good time.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Let me run this body before I go to my meeting. Okay,
- 34:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna just say it bluntly. Okay, does my hair
- 34:53Speaker 2: look like shit?
- 34:54Speaker 1: Oh you're so concerned about your hair. Here's when I
- 34:57Speaker 1: tell you look exactly the same as you did two weeks.
- 35:00Speaker 1: You look fine.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Okay, Well, there's been multiple occasions over the past week
- 35:04Speaker 2: where someone like has made offhand comments about my hair.
- 35:08Speaker 2: So the first one is I was going into a
- 35:10Speaker 2: parking garage and this is all loved to this dude,
- 35:11Speaker 2: because this dude is like an OG listener, been rocking
- 35:14Speaker 2: with me for years. And as I was leaving the garage,
- 35:16Speaker 2: he's like, dude, we got to get a picture. He's like, dude,
- 35:19Speaker 2: they don't even worry about it though, with your hair, Like, like,
- 35:21Speaker 2: what do you mean my hair is like, I know
- 35:22Speaker 2: you haven't gotten a haircut. I'm like, no, no, no, no,
- 35:24Speaker 2: I'm growing it out. I'm not like deliberately looking like
- 35:26Speaker 2: shit for nothing.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I'm not like going out trying to look like shit.
- 35:30Speaker 3: But I didn't think it looked that bad.
- 35:31Speaker 2: And then yesterday I'm sitting in the office getting some
- 35:33Speaker 2: work and one of my favorite co workers comes by
- 35:36Speaker 2: and he's Sean.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the other Sean. He's still in the sales.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Where I actually don't know. I'm acting like I know.
- 35:42Speaker 1: I'm like, god, I got sewn from.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Sean's a good buddy of mine. But he said something
- 35:46Speaker 2: that was just made me laugh. He's like, man, you're
- 35:48Speaker 2: in that awkward phase with the hair.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Huh. I was like, I didn't think.
- 35:51Speaker 1: So take your headphones off, all right, take your headphones off.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Here it is. I feel like I just took my
- 35:55Speaker 3: pants off.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I really feel like you look fine. I do too.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I didn't think it looked that.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Maybe guys noticed because your hair has been like a
- 36:03Speaker 1: you've done the fade on the sides for a while. Yes,
- 36:06Speaker 1: that maybe they're noticing it because guys notice guys haircuts more,
- 36:10Speaker 1: whereas women are used to seeing different types of hair
- 36:13Speaker 1: on different people.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I guess I just made me feel like I was like,
- 36:15Speaker 2: wait a second. When I look at myself, I'm like, oh,
- 36:17Speaker 2: that's not that bad.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Like no, I didn't notice.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I think I'm honestly, my thought is I'm out of
- 36:21Speaker 2: the awkward phase.
- 36:22Speaker 1: You looked bad when you had the lego hair. What
- 36:24Speaker 1: was the lego Remember when your bangs came up and
- 36:26Speaker 1: it was like square like this, I could still do that.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Pulled your you see how long it is? Though, I
- 36:32Speaker 3: feel like.
- 36:33Speaker 1: That it looks so bad. You look like you here
- 36:38Speaker 1: do it again. You look like you should have like
- 36:42Speaker 1: leader hosen, like hello, I love little German boy.
- 36:47Speaker 3: You have to come in get some chocolate.
- 36:50Speaker 1: That's what you look like when you have your bangs
- 36:51Speaker 1: like that.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Okay, well that I'm not doing that. If I was
- 36:54Speaker 2: doing that walking around, of course, people call me disgusting. Yeah,
- 36:57Speaker 2: I looked like the pony that has bank.
- 36:59Speaker 1: What's your what? How far are you from where you
- 37:02Speaker 1: want to be?
- 37:02Speaker 2: Like?
- 37:02Speaker 1: What do you need to get?
- 37:04Speaker 2: I think I said I needed to get like six
- 37:05Speaker 2: to eight inches of hair.
- 37:07Speaker 3: I think I'm probably at like four.
- 37:08Speaker 1: It's a lot.
- 37:09Speaker 2: It's a lot as a lot is like it's long
- 37:11Speaker 2: or that's a long way to go.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I think you're I think you're almost there. It's growing fast.
- 37:16Speaker 3: I thought so too, might do it.
- 37:19Speaker 1: We got to get you some oliplex.
- 37:20Speaker 3: I don't know that is that like a pill.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It's like a it's a hair nourishing supplement, but you
- 37:25Speaker 1: put it on, it's like a mask.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I always feel like some of those things are just bullshit.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Nick Oil, Yeah, it's like, what the hell?
- 37:32Speaker 1: Why haven't we been as the man who listens to
- 37:34Speaker 1: Tony Robbins for advice?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Those things have changed my life.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Now I'm down to try because our boss is telling
- 37:40Speaker 2: me to, like do biotin.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Biotin is a supplement and it helps you produce more
- 37:46Speaker 1: of like your hair, skin and nail tents or something.
- 37:49Speaker 1: You could try that if also, I've been reading a
- 37:51Speaker 1: lot about GHK, a peide.
- 37:54Speaker 3: I don't know if I'm gonna do it's it's.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Like a copper peptide, and it helps your skin and
- 37:59Speaker 1: hair grow.
- 38:00Speaker 2: If it helps me one grow it but also not
- 38:02Speaker 2: lose it, that's what I'm looking for. That's what I've heard,
- 38:04Speaker 2: That's what I want. So okay, So it doesn't look
- 38:06Speaker 2: like shit. I think I'm close though, to being able
- 38:08Speaker 2: to like I.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Mean, you look like shit. O, your hair looks Yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 3: The hair is not the problem. Actually, yeah, that's not
- 38:13Speaker 3: one of my biggest worries.
- 38:15Speaker 1: You're good.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Well, it's I'm hoping by my birthday in October it
- 38:18Speaker 2: will actually be able to like style it a little differently.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Yeah. I think. So you've got you've got another three months.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Yeah, then we're gonna have some flow.
- 38:25Speaker 1: And look how far you've come.
- 38:27Speaker 2: See, I'm happy.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I'm committing to this.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I think it's gonna because I showed again Sean when
- 38:31Speaker 2: he was asking me, He's like, what are you going for?
