- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie and it's time for us to
- 0:03Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always, I invite
- 0:05Speaker 1: you to join along with me in prayer. And can
- 0:08Speaker 1: I be honest for a second. As we are leading
- 0:11Speaker 1: up to Father's Day this Sunday, my heart is breaking
- 0:14Speaker 1: the eye. I can't help but think about my Daddy.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I miss him every single day. I miss my Daddy
- 0:23Speaker 1: and Father's Day is always a heavy and a hard
- 0:27Speaker 1: time for me. And I want to pray for those
- 0:29Speaker 1: that are like me, navigating Father's Day without Daddy. Oh Heaven, Father,
- 0:35Speaker 1: today we come before you would send our hearts God
- 0:38Speaker 1: lifting up her fort son, every daughter who's navigating Father's
- 0:42Speaker 1: Day without their dad. Lord. While many are celebrating with
- 0:45Speaker 1: phone calls and family gathering special moments, there are others
- 0:50Speaker 1: like me who are carrying a quiet ache deep inside
- 0:54Speaker 1: their hearts. There are those who would give anything for
- 0:57Speaker 1: one more conversation, one more piece of advice, one more life,
- 1:01Speaker 1: one more embrace, or simply one more moment in the
- 1:06Speaker 1: presence of their fathers father. You see every emotion that
- 1:09Speaker 1: this season brings. You see the tears that are shed openly,
- 1:14Speaker 1: the tears that are held back. You see the memories
- 1:17Speaker 1: that bring smiles and the memories that bring pain. You
- 1:20Speaker 1: know the empty spaces that loss has left behind. You
- 1:24Speaker 1: understand the grief that can surface even years later. So Lord,
- 1:29Speaker 1: today we ask you to be the God of all comfort.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Wrap your loving arms around every grieving heart. When the
- 1:35Speaker 1: loneliness feels overwhelming, remind them God that they are never alone.
- 1:39Speaker 1: When memories come flooding back, let those memories be accompanied
- 1:44Speaker 1: by your peace. When emotions seem too heavy to carry,
- 1:47Speaker 1: remind them God that you are carrying them. Father, thank
- 1:51Speaker 1: you for the fathers whose lives left a lasting imprint,
- 1:55Speaker 1: fathers like my daddy. Thank you for the sacrifices they
- 1:59Speaker 1: made and the lesson since they taught, the values they
- 2:02Speaker 1: instilled in the love they shared. Thank You for every
- 2:05Speaker 1: encouraging word, every prayer they prayed, every life lesson they
- 2:08Speaker 1: passed down, in every act of love that continues to
- 2:11Speaker 1: live on through their children. Lord, for those who lost
- 2:14Speaker 1: their fathers unexpectedly like I did, bring comfort. For those
- 2:19Speaker 1: whose fathers suffered long illderness illnesses. Bring peace for those
- 2:24Speaker 1: whose relationships with their fathers restrained or complicated, or left unresolve. God,
- 2:29Speaker 1: bring healing to the places that still hurt. Remove guilts,
- 2:33Speaker 1: remove regret, remove bitterness and unanswered questions. God replaced them
- 2:37Speaker 1: with your grace, with your mercy, and with your healing touch. Father,
- 2:41Speaker 1: remind every grieving son, every grieving daughter that while they
- 2:44Speaker 1: may miss their earthly father, they are never without their
- 2:47Speaker 1: heavenly Father. You are the everlasting Father. You are the
- 2:51Speaker 1: one who never leaves. You are the one who never abandons.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You are the one who knows every need, every hurt,
- 2:56Speaker 1: in every longing of the heart. Lord, let this Father's
- 3:01Speaker 1: Day not only be marked by loss, but also by gratitude.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Help us God to celebrate the legacy that our fathers
- 3:07Speaker 1: left behind. Let the wisdom of faith, strength, character, and
- 3:11Speaker 1: love that we're deposited continue to bring fruit for generations
- 3:16Speaker 1: to come. And Father, Oh God, when the day feels difficult,
- 3:19Speaker 1: surround God us with your loving arms. God, with family,
- 3:25Speaker 1: with caring friends, with precious memories, and most of all,
- 3:27Speaker 1: your unmistakable presence. God, let us feel your comfort in
- 3:30Speaker 1: a real and personal way. God, we place every grieving
- 3:33Speaker 1: heart into your hands today, trusting you to heal, trusting
- 3:35Speaker 1: you to strength, and trusting you to sustain. Thank you, Father,
- 3:39Speaker 1: of being the one who remains faithful through every season
- 3:41Speaker 1: of our lives. And Jesus speak Amen.
