- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:04Whenever you're talking about somebody who has been exposed to
- 0:08years and years of abuse, there is no doubt that
- 0:12the trauma that they suffer in their lives moving forward
- 0:16after that abuse doesn't go away. All they can do
- 0:20is learn how to manage that trauma and try and
- 0:23navigate their new normal. And unfortunately, a lot of times
- 0:27it leads to substance abuse issues, and those substance abuse
- 0:31issues continue to bloom, they continue to grow, until eventually
- 0:35the person hits rock bottom and decides I have to
- 0:38get help and try and fix what's going on. Or
- 0:41as we saw with Carolyn, they die of an overdose.
- 0:46And there really aren't too many other outcomes for people
- 0:49who are addicted to drugs. Unfortunately, you notice there aren't
- 0:53very many old junkies. Well there's a reason, folks. Okay,
- 0:57you pumping up of this poison into your body. Eventually
- 1:01it's gonna catch up with you. But when you're talking
- 1:04about people who have suffered the trauma that Carolyn suffered
- 1:08at the hands of Epstein, at the hands of Glenn
- 1:11Maxwell's disgusting ass, Yeah, it's going to be a lifelong
- 1:15process to try and get right, and unfortunately, not everybody
- 1:19is going to be able to do it. And that's
- 1:22one of the main reasons I go so hard in
- 1:24the paint talking about the USVII and them taking money
- 1:27right out of the survivor's pockets. Do you know how
- 1:29expensive it is to go to a good rehab center
- 1:32and get right. It is not cheat. So when you
- 1:35have the US Virgin Islands collecting two hundred and ninety
- 1:38million dollars of survivor money that could have been used
- 1:41by these women for drug rehab, could have been used
- 1:44by these women for therapy, whatever it might be. Yeah,
- 1:48I'm gonna have a few things to say about that.
- 1:50And that's another reason why I wasn't out here spiking
- 1:53footballs and doing happy dances like some other people when
- 1:57the US Virgin Islands got that bag. And for all
- 1:59of their on sensical talk down there in the USVII,
- 2:02there hasn't been too much walk. You would think that
- 2:05collecting all that money, maybe they'd set something up for
- 2:08Epstein survivors themselves. Nah, they're not gonna do that. This
- 2:12money's going for XX and X. Meanwhile, we all know
- 2:15the money's gonna end ub with some corrupt ass politician
- 2:18or at that corrupt politician's favorite charity where he's gonna
- 2:21get a little piece later on. Guess who's not getting
- 2:24a piece? People like Carolyn, People who have been abused
- 2:28by Epstein, People who have suffered trauma at the hands
- 2:30of these animals for all these years, only once again
- 2:33to get victimized by the United States Virgin Islands. Today's
- 2:37article is from twelve News headline Trauma remains Epstein abused
- 2:43victims tragic overdose shows enduring pain of survivors. Well, I
- 2:48can tell you with a certainty that the pain that
- 2:51has been caused by Epstein and by Maxwell has lasted
- 2:55all these years, and a lot of the survivors that
- 2:58I've talked to, they've all said the same thing, that
- 3:01that trauma has been one of the hardest turtles to overcome.
- 3:06The PTSD, all of the nightmares, the thoughts of what
- 3:11happened to them, that's not easy to get rid of.
- 3:14So it's a constant struggle for these women, day in
- 3:17and day out to get right. Many survivors who are
- 3:22either groomed, sexually abused, or trafficked as miners by now
- 3:25deceased billionaire finance here, you mean pedophile finance here. Jeffrey
- 3:30Epstein and his exploiters are still dealing with the trauma
- 3:33years later, and it manifests in different ways. Right, Some
- 3:37people become self destructive, They do drugs to try and forget.
- 3:41Other people whom I have been abused might become a
- 3:44sex worker because they think that's all they're good for. Look,
- 3:47there's a lot of psychology that goes into this, and
- 3:50to tell you the truth, I'm certainly not qualified to
- 3:53dig deep as far as psychology goes, but as an observer,
- 3:57it's very, very obvious the trauma that these women are
- 4:01still suffering. Back in May, one of Epstein's survivors, Carolyn Adriano,
- 4:07was found dead of an accidental overdose at the Double
- 4:10Tree by Hilton in West Palm Beach. According to the
- 4:14West Palm Beach Police Department, her children were there, her
- 4:17husband was there. Just all bad And now you know
- 4:20what the sad part is, her children are now going
- 4:23to be traumatized as well. Imagine having to deal with
- 4:27this situation as a kid. Your mom overdoses in a
- 4:30hotel room where you are. You might not understand now
- 4:33but as you get older and you start to understand
- 4:35a little bit more about the world and about what's
- 4:38going on, that's not going to be fun for these children,
- 4:41and my heart really goes out to them. According to police,
- 4:45her husband found her unresponsive that morning with her children
- 4:49inside the hotel room. Fentanyl and prescription drugs were also found.
- 4:53Police said, and how many times do we hear it?
- 4:56I'm telling you right now, fentanyl is the scourge of
- 4:59the earth. This shit has to go. The only problem
- 5:03is there's no way to stop it with prohibitionist tactics.
- 5:08We have to dig in deep, and we have to
- 5:10deal with the pervasive problem of addiction in this country.
- 5:14And unless we do that, there's no hope. Folks. We
- 5:17can beat the drum until our hands fall off, we
- 5:20can yell until we have no voice, but unless the
- 5:23people in power decide that the stupidity that we're engaging
- 5:27in doesn't work, then well we're gonna continue engaging in
- 5:31stupidity and it won't be long until somebody you love
- 5:34dies of an overdose. Two. Her testimony helped put Epstein's
- 5:38accomplice Glenn Maxwell, behind bars. The local mother reportedly testified
- 5:43years ago how she had been addicted to drugs to
- 5:45numb the pain of Epstein's sexual abuse. And this is
- 5:49just something you see all the time. Unfortunately, I cannot
- 5:53tell you how many people I know who weren't even
- 5:56abused but have gotten into the sex worker lifestyle have
- 6:00ended up on drugs. That has to be a hard
- 6:03go of it, right with a different guy all the time.
- 6:06You know, it just can't be an easy life. So
- 6:09I completely understand why somebody would look to escape. It's
- 6:13very common for people with childhood abuse and sexual trauma
- 6:17to turn to addicted behaviors because they don't know how
- 6:20else to cope with it. Clinical psychotherapist Jennifer Tomco of
- 6:25Clarity Health Solutions told CBS twelve News, it hurts all
- 6:29the time. They just want to escape the pain, and unfortunately,
- 6:32there's no escape from your own mind. You can run
- 6:35away from threats, you can run away from other people,
- 6:38you can run away from just about anything. You can't
- 6:41get away from what's in your own mind. And that's
- 6:45why people turn to drugs. That's why people turn to
- 6:47alcohol because they can't deal with their reality. Healing, including
- 6:53overcoming addictions and other substance abuse occurs in stages. The
- 6:58first step is empathy can pass and psycho education to
- 7:02help them understand that what they're going through now is
- 7:05not forever. Make sure they understand that they are not alone,
- 7:09she said, And that is true too. It's a very
- 7:12tough struggle. But if you can find the willpower and
- 7:16you can find the strength to say, you know what,
- 7:19today's the day, and you have that support behind you,
- 7:22you have a chance to kick in your addiction problems.
- 7:25But unfortunately, a lot of people don't have that support,
- 7:28They don't have the willpower, and they certainly don't have
- 7:31the resources to do what they have to do. So
- 7:34that's why we have the walking dead invading every city
- 7:37in America. Palm Beach County lawyer Spencer Coven with Gold
- 7:42Law litigated against billionaire pedophile Epstein over the past decade
- 7:47and represented nine of his victims. He did not represent Andreano.
- 7:51Even though Epstein is dead and Maxwell is behind bars,
- 7:55survivors of Epstein will forever live with the abuse that
- 7:58occurred to them. Couvin said. Many of Epstein's survivors were
- 8:02recently paid out in settlements, but years ago, Couven said
- 8:06many of his victims didn't have the money to seek
- 8:08the proper treatment they needed to cope with the pain.
- 8:11And that's the thing. When you're poor, forget it. There's
- 8:15no hope. When you're poor man, the cycle is just perpetual.
- 8:18There's no resources there for you. What are you going
- 8:20to do? Go to the local Salvation Army shelter and
- 8:24get you a bed to go and have a withdrawal.
- 8:26In this day and age, it's not like that. It's
- 8:29not like the old days where somebody goes and dries out,
- 8:32goes cold turkey. That's not how it works anymore. And
- 8:35that's because the synthetic drugs that they're taking are so powerful.
- 8:39So we have to have the resources available if we're
- 8:41going to help people. And until we have those resources available,
- 8:45this is what you're going to see. A lot of society,
- 8:49including the state attorney's office and federal investigators at the time,
- 8:53were in complete disbelief. These young women had to convince
- 8:57adults of what was occurring to them. Couvin explained, imagine
- 9:00being such a jerk off that you don't listen when
- 9:04all of these girls have the same story about Epstein.
- 9:07What kind of dirty scumbag would not listen? Oh, I'll
- 9:10tell you what kind, the kind that's found down in
- 9:12Palm Beach, Florida. He said, for years they were denied
- 9:16by potential partners and family members too. It really wasn't
- 9:20until the Me Too movement came out that all of
- 9:23a sudden there was a support system for these women.
- 9:26But unfortunately for some, it was too late, Covin said.
- 9:30And I have to tell you, even the whole Me
- 9:32Too movement, they weren't around for the trial. Where were
- 9:35they for Glen Maxwell's trial. Was anybody out there marching,
- 9:38going crazy and demanding accountability? No, they were not. And
- 9:42you all know why. It's not a political issue that's
- 9:45going to move the needle. And if it doesn't move
- 9:47the needle, forget it. You're not gonna have any of
- 9:50the powers that be give a damn about what's going on.
- 9:53Because the issue is they don't really care about our problems.
- 9:56They care about making sure that you're voting quote unquote
- 10:00the right way. That's what they really care about. If
- 10:02they cared about our problems, well they'd address them. And
- 10:05not only would they address them, well they'd be present.
- 10:08And the facts are that the Me Too movement was
- 10:11not present when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein and to survivors.
- 10:15So while the movement itself might have set the tone,
- 10:18there was really no help on the ground when it
- 10:21comes to Epstein survivors and the trial against Glen Maxwell.
- 10:25So for me, it was the tenacity of the survivors
- 10:28themselves and their wherewithal and their refusal to give up
- 10:32that led to this, not the me too movement. But
- 10:35either way, there needs to be resources that are available
- 10:38for people who are trying to get off of drugs.
- 10:40There's just no doubt about it. And when we're talking
- 10:42about Epstein survivors, shouldn't the US Virgin Islands the pony
- 10:46up a few bucks maybe to set up some kind
- 10:48of program to help with trauma, to help with Epstein
- 10:53survivors who were dealing with drug addiction. I mean, they
- 10:56got two hundred and ninety million dollars. They talked a
- 10:59lot of talk about how they care about the survivors.
- 11:01So how about we see a little bit of that
- 11:04talk put into action the United States Virgin Islands. You're
- 11:08on the clock. All of the information that goes with
- 11:12this episode can be found in the description box.
